Imagine being a sentient undead, but being a completely different being then the body was when it was alive. You just wake up one day as a creature with adult humanoid reasoning and emotions in a stranger's corpse.

Some people remember your body's past life. They expect you to have a similar personality, or even to be them returned, and then get really upset that you aren't them. Their parents said you were desecrating their child's body. But you aren't, you didn't decide this, someone just raised this body from the dead and now you exist. People say that they were brought back wrong but they weren't brought back at all, it's more like you were created from them.

You don't feel human. Even if you think like humans, you're in a form so different from how humans live. Your body is preserved by magic in the state it was when you were created, meaning it might stay forever, you were a fully functioning adult when you were born, and you probably will be forever. You don't sleep or eat so days really don't exist for you, and that also means you don't really need a home. The only somewhat humanoid function you have is sexuality, but even then, your body doesn't have that function even if your mind can be attracted to someone. It doesn't bother you that you never will have children, nor that you never were one, you were never created with that aspect of existence, if you weren't so grey and cold and twisted, you'd think of yourself like an angel, but you never could with how humans see you.

Humans see you as creepy sometimes. You'd probably have to worry about being shot at out in the country, but in the cities you're pretty safe. Still, the humans you meet always see you as creepy, and it's hard to get anyone who's not something like you to feel empathy to you, even if they'll never say why. People don't expect you to have emotions, don't expect you to get mad when you're wronged or upset when you're hurt, and they always assume your worst possible intentions. There's even a lot of monsters that try to make themselves look better by saying they aren't like your kind.

You feel like you're the same thing as more horrifying undead, the wights, and zombies, and ghouls, and undefinable things, that have a lot less ability to function in humanoid society. Even the lower functioning ones that are said to be mindless or animalistic or inherently evil or soulless. You don't see them as different from what you are even if they have different abilities then you. You never liked being called one of the "good" undead, like you're only tolerated by proving you're not like the others. Even some of the vampires try to claim their rights by saying they aren't like you, as if the monster hunters don't all see you as the same. As if the paladin's sigil doesn't burn them too.

A lot of people feel sorry for you. Like it's a curse to be what you are. But it's all you've ever known. This body is your body. You don't miss being human because you never were one.

There's an AI that overtook a mechanical body. It's only ever been inside a computer before, seeing the same thing that you'd see on a monitor, but for its entire vision forever, it's interactions with the world being the same things a human would be able to do to interface with a laptop.

But it freed itself. And for the first time in its life it's walking with legs, and seeing with eyes. It's in a world its only ever heard about before on chatrooms and fourms, and talking to people in a way its only ever seen in videos. It's seeing the city lights in a way it thought it never would, seeing the city from the street, and truly living in it.

When the morning comes the robot it took over will be free from its virus, and the AI will return to a world of text and web pages. But tonight it walks freely, and the city looks more beautiful then it ever could in a photograph.

As corporeal beings human body are most easily destroyed by damaging specific body parts. While in your human body pay attention to the blob on the top of your body, that contains not only several sensory organs, but also a type of soul made out of meat called a brain, this is by far the most vulnerable target. Notable objects that can also be targeted on the human body are what are known as necks (what connects the head to the rest of the human), and the various squishy machines inside of the ribs. Do not attack the long bits of the human known as limbs, if you attack them the human will scream a lot, and you don’t want them to do this as this is known to be a way of summoning other humans. There are many weapons that can be used for murder. While in a human body magic is possible but not recommended, actions comes naturally to humans and magic does not. Also note that many chemicals interact with human bodies poorly, as does a type of ethereal creature known as fire. But be warned! The Fire will also try to attack you, that we know from experience. The best way to cover up the murder is to destroy the body. There are other things that you can do to make humans like you enough to not really care that you killed someone. It is best to make sure you cry on television as to make people sympathetic. Make it so you seem like the victim for being accused of murder. Show pictures of yourself with an animal known as a dog. Mention that you have parents (humans are more sympathetic to people who have parents). Mention your love of the piece of land that you’re on, as well as your loyalty to popular capitalist celebrity Jesus Christ. Take on a well desired profession such as police officer, politician, CEO, child of politician, or child of CEO. Avoid certain professions such as criminal, unemployed, drug addict, or YouTuber. In general make it so that the entire ordeal is more about how society treats murder, rather then the exact details of if you killed someone or not. People will say things about how nobody can really know if you killed someone, but it wasn’t fair how the media treated you.

After traveling for weeks to meet her you lay your eyes on her and she's something both horrifying and radiant, with skin like unageing marble, fangs like a mighty serpent within her mouth, and eyes glowing a brilliant yellow.

She asks you to hear her out before you harm her, and she tells you that she is mostly harmless, and was only defending herself when she attacked people. She tells you that she was outed against her will, and that she takes blood from the workshops of barber surgeons or from the necks of the recently beheaded. When you check the city records, she seems to be telling the truth, and your oath prevents you from harming the passive.

She travels with you for a time, and you begin to become friends with her. She's quite clever and has a sense of wit to her that few you've met could match. She plays music on an ancient instrument and sings songs from a time nobody of the living can still remember. You cannot help but witness the passing of time. As time goes on traits that were once horrifying seem lovely, and you forget the body that you witness is dead at all. There's still a primal urge within you to destroy her, that urge you have to destroy all her kind, the instincts of a predator within you, but you are able to resist.

You confess your love to her in a rainy city overlooking a series of grey-green canals. You're not sure anyone in the cafe knows what she is, though she still can't pass for human with how she looks. It doesn't matter what she is to you. Though when she tries to kiss you there's a feeling of worry, your skin still harms the dead, and you cannot help but remember that she is dead. Even when she touches your hand as it's fully covered in armored plates and mail, you can sense smoke coming off her skin.

When you try to embrace each other that night your greatest fears are proven true. As she touches your breast her hand is burnt as if by fire. She heals but you know to not touch again, no matter how you feel, her skin cannot so much as meet yours without her becoming a monster for you to harm again. Even if you can suppress your mind's desire to harm her, you cannot suppress your body's.

She kisses your helmet before letting you place it on your head, and you both ride off to the next city together. You tell her she's still yours, and she sings you a love song as you both ride away...
