I have a headcanon on how these guys style themselves postgame and you WILL hear me out.

Kanaya, Roxy, and Jade are self explanatory. They know how they want to present themselves. They know how to go forward with that. They’ve got colour combos and layering and fashion choices suited to their particular style IN THE BAG. Loud, prominent, they know whats up.

Jake, Calliope, and Jane get nudged into giving a fuck about fashion by anyone named above, or rather their own desire to dress up…Jake moreso because as a celebrity he gives too much of a fuck about his image to be anything less. Callie of course is affectionate enough with jade and roxy that they teach her how to style and i think she would like lolita and more daintier feminine stuff than roxy, but she does tend to sometimes switch over to suits. Jane is pure butch energy she dresses like a guy but as a girl with fashion sense. Like strict lesbian style. I dont know how else to fucking put it she would dress like how a butch lesbian would.

Jane and Jake stylewise would be similiar to some retro callback summer movie where everyones on a roadtrip in a yellow van or something except jake is more prone to extravagancy because he gives more of a fuck. Also one of them is wearing dresses and its NOT Jane.

Dirk and Rose.. fashion disasters. Dirk doesnt know fashion weight for a while and tries too hard id even suspect that he would try and mimic daves fashion style for a while until john or someone else blatantly calls him out in an offhand comment and jake and the rest of his friends start getting on his fucking case about being so bland with his fashion takes (all primaries, little to no patterns, basic, no layering.) that he caves and starts taking it like a personal challenge to style well.

At some point he has a revelation and realises he can get piercings and starts leaning into that and punk / gothish fashion. Black with complimentary colours recommended by friends.

Rose is sort of a fashion trainwreck like for all of kanayas nudging she doesnt really give a fuck and kanaya starts dictating her outfits and then of course she also gets the "someone makes an offhand comment that makes them mald really hard about it and go into a snooty onesided competition to prove they GET IT actually and that you were TOTALLY wrong about them not GETTING IT." Its the only way Dirk and Rose start caring.

Terezi and John get nudged around by their respective compadres about fashion sense and style, but they generally dont give a damn and have their own thing going for them. Theyve got their own vibe and style that feels well on them and especially terezi wise i think she would lean into the fashion disaster for fun. As long as the colours taste well together, who gives a damn about layering etc etc. throw in some crocs with a suit. An oversized shirt with a tapered skirt. Who cares. John is more tried and true but he styles out ENOUGH so he doesnt end up in the last (deorgatory) category.

Dave and Karkat are the real stubborn contendors of the friendgroup fashionwise. Baggy on baggy outfitwear. WILL get on your case if you point out had it not been for their respective colour choices they basically dress the exact same. Same mix of cargo pants, sweatpants, tracksuit pants, hoodies, and tshirts to keep them going for the lifetime. There js nothing else. Whats layering. Accessories? Well except for a watch hard pass. Patterned clothing? No way. Basic colours ONLY. Maybe Dave would dig long shorts ive always seen him as a longshorts kind of guy but its never anything noteworthy. Type of guys to choose what theyre wearing with their eyes closed thats how basic their closet is.

Anyways thats my style and fashion thoughts. Let me know what you think. Discuss and all that. Also tag yourself on which one youre closest to stylewise. Im jake. Obviously.

My thoughts on the Fontaine characters rn (pre 4.0)

I saw someone making a post about their thoughts and they were tragically wrong and I disagreed. So here I am, being opinionated.

I'm not gonna discuss leaks, I'm just talking about the character designs and what lore we know from the trailer and teaser :))

Lyney

So, Lyney is great. I love that he's kind of sussy, and his teaser that recently came out is almost... Sinister. And yet, he also checks the boxes of being really fun and extroverted! Venti vibes tbh.

Design wise? His animations are the best in the game, hands down. They suit the performance aspect of his character perfectly and are almost enough to make me pull for him.

Tragically, his character design isn't really for me. I think the simplicity works with the bombastic animations, and I'm glad to see he's wearing a reasonable outfit for the job he does (a rarity in Genshin). And yet, I'm a bit too much of a lesbian to be uber interested in the twinky direction his design leans.

Not pulling.

Lynette

So she's super cute. We have got a lot of cat girls already (I think Lyney should have also been a cat-person tbh) but I love that Lyney isn't actually doing cat things. Like, she's this subdued introvert, no meowing during her attacks or curling up in boxes like Kirara. She's just a person.... Who's also a cat.

I like her character design better than Lyney's; the blue just stands out a lot more than his red does, and the big bow is a better centerpiece to her design than Lyney's hat is to his. Plus, her animations are also nice.

We're getting her for free so I likely won't pull, but I am already preparing artifacts to build her on my account.

Freminet

Have I said how much I like sibling dynamics? These three actually seem pretty close and like they will gasp interact with each other! In comparison to the likes of the Kamisatos, this is miraculous.

I know several people who love this guy, and I do think he looks good. I saw some complaints about his hair cut (I think it's adorable), and the chunky boots & coat really serve to emphasise his awkwardness without sacrificing aesthetics.

Unfortunately, he's a physical claymore character, so it's a big skip from me.

Focalors/Furina

Well she's a brat huh. I worry after Raiden that they'll destroy Furina's character arc in order to make her more palatable, but I want her to go full Marie Antoinette. All the lore with the Oceanids disliking her and the general stuff about using the court for entertainment make me very interested in her.

As a design, I just dislike the twin tails. I love the blazer and the huge gem and the hat that's actually a crown!! Like, Furina is extravagant and over the top, obviously self obsessed - she looks perfect in that regard.

Since she's the archon and she's Hydro, she'll probably be broken meta wise. I'll likely pull, but mostly to make cool teams with her, not because she's a fave of mine specifically.

Neuvilette

... Father?

FR though, I understand why several people are crazy about this man. I do wish he looked a bit older since that's sort of where his characterisation is - he's done with Furina's shit and he's doing all the actual work of running Fontaine. With the elf ears, I expect him to be some sort of long-life species - he has no visible Vision and his hair kind of looks oceanid-like, so I figure he's not actually human. That along with the slits in his eyes. I hope he turns out to be older than Furina, and that he has a kind of reluctant dad & spoiled daughter relationship with her; we do see him tell her off in the teaser.

Neuvilette is the most feminine tall man character and the hair is a great aspect of the design. The colour palette is good and I do like the robes since he's a Judge, however I think it might get a bit boring to look at when you're playing as him - which is probably why the hair is so dramatic, in order to bring interest to the design.

He'll probably be Hydro and he'll probably be a catalyst based on that outfit (it's not exactly maneuverable enough for anything else ':))). I am interested in pulling almost a 100%.

Wriothesley

Another man???

I don't understand people talking about the lack of husbandoes in Fontaine, like look at these fine gentlemen.

We don't have much official info on Wriothesley so I'm gonna dip a little into leaks here, skip if you don't wanna know. He is some sort of prison warden which I bop with - it's an expected expansion on the justice landscape of Fontaine. He's on the rough side of the Fontaine infrastructure, in comparison to most of the other characters. That interests me since it feeds more into the duality themes of Fontaine, though currently we're unevenly biased rn to the more santized characters.

Design wise he's one of my favourites. White/black/red looks so good, as does his kind of punk esque chains. The tie puts me off somewhat, like he looks sort of smart and put together, but then the rest of the design undercuts that.

Leaks say Wriothesley is a physical standard banner five star. This fills me with fear. I also don't know what his actual personality will be, so let's say I'm undecided on pulling him.

Charlotte

I liked her personality and en VA in that one TCG event, unfortunately much like that event, Charlotte looks boring. She's cute, whatever, but she doesn't seem particularly story relevant and her design hasn't captured me.

I'm just not that interested.

Sigewinne(?)

Okay, she's cuter than Charlotte she's a sea slug person so immediately more interesting. She was also hanging out with Wriothesley, which is so adorable considering how different they seem.

We're dipping back into leaks here, but it seems like she might be another Hydro healer. I've seen people annoyed by this, but I'm perfectly fine with it - I don't have Kokomi and I like Nilou bloom as much as the next person.

If Sigewinne is a four star, I hope she's on a banner for a cool five star.

Navia

I know a lot of people like this woman. Taylor Swift etc (I am not overly into Taylor Swift), but I think Navia could be cool.

I find her design overcrowded. I do think this suits the fact that we're playing with French Revolution ideas and she's part of the bourgeoisie, so ofc she's overdecorated and elaborate in her fashion. Even though it makes sense, I still don't like the arsthetic of it.

On the other hand, I do like the yellow - it's not a colour we see in too many Genshin designs. I don't really like how it fits with the blue jewellery though.

Personality wise, I worry a bit that she's gonna be our waifu bait, but they did Dehya's characterisation really well without falling into that trap. Navia could be very fun and I think there's a lot of promise in the idea that she might be a class traitor, teaming up with us against the Fontaine government (wow Genshin loves a corrupt government huh).

Will I pull? She's a geo claymore user and my triple crowned Itto is already collecting dust. That's a no from me.

Clorinde

I've seen so many people mad at Clorinde when I think she looks great. Her outfit is simpler than is typical for Genshin, but that's cos she's a no-nonsense fighter type! Like how we saw with Lyney, more muted designs often mean more dramatic animations, and we already saw Clorinde doing some dynamic fight stuff in the trailer.

She really interests me in that she's a champion duellist, strong enough that even Childe wants to fight her. We see Clorinde works directly beside Neuvilette in the trailer, so she must be high up in position. A gun and a sword? She's trying to kill Navia, but the Devs describe their relationship as "complicated"??

Clorinde is an Electro woman and these are always queer fyi.

I hope she's pretty straight laced, but not quite in the Sara way. She's boring tbh, mostly because she is always answering to someone else, and she gets so little screen time. For Clorinde to work, I think she needs to have independence and apt presence in the story to be explored - not just a prop/obstacle.

Her personality makes me fearful, but rn I'm pulling 100%.

Personal opinions and general character design critique regarding the Nymphs from Rayman (spoiler: they all suffer from having same face/body syndrome and the designers being too horny to consider other design elements)

Betilla: I feel her origins redesign was a downgrade from her whimsical style in the first game, but I also do understand why they wanted to change her, as origins was meant as a reboot of the franchise and they wanted Rayman to be the only limbless in the Glade of Dreams. But since origins ended up not being a series reboot (with its plot only existing in code) and Rayman having skins/costumes who are meant to be different limbless characters anyways , changing Betilla drastically was already meaningless in the long run , much less the choice to make her be a basic hot nymph

Outside of it being impossible to Google her name in front of family , I personally don’t mind how she looks in Origins as the red hair contrasts really nicely with the greens, if you really wanna push some symbolism imagery here you can make arguments the red + green is meant to be reminiscent of flowers or berries. Ultimately though it is just a green bikini outfit with thigh highs and the only real connection to her role as the nymph of the forest/jungle area of the game is the colours, and maybe the odd stitch work pattern

Which is a bit of shame as you can easily replace the blue stars of her old design with an actual star-ish looking flower called Bletilla (literally one letter off from her actual name) or other flora

I don’t think the issue was they wanted to give Betilla a redesign that had sex appeal , I just think they went in the wrong direction with it. Considering that she played a large role in the old educational games and she was a sort of mentor figure to Rayman (if not just straight up his mother depending on one’s headcanons), they could’ve given Betilla a personality and sex appeal by making her a hot teacher type character (who may or may not count as a milf), hell give her signs of age like small wrinkles to really get the point across she’s older than most of the player characters, and she’s aged like spicy fine wine

Her design in the first game is adorable while giving her the vibes of a mature fairy god mother type mentor, but I don’t think it would work in the more modern Rayman games without some updated tweaks. It is pretty though and does has more personality than her origins design, and the other nymphs for that matter

Holly: I like that there’s some actual details on her and some colour variation compared to her sisters, even if she’s 3 out of 6 nymphs whose main colour is some shade of blue

Besides giving her an outfit that isn’t a skirt and bra, I think her design could better reflect that her domain is the desert of dijiridoos by having some musical elements to her design. It’s kinda odd her tattoos/body paint (which do look good on her and her skin tone) don’t reference musical notes at least, wasted opportunity there

I have this issue with Edith and Annetta as well, but I’m a bit confused about why dead animals seems like a popular fashion choice for these ladies , especially since (in the origins game) none of the nymphs are shown as fighters (not saying they’re incapable, the game just doesn’t show them as such) and we’re not giving lore hints about it? I’ll talk more on this issue when I get to the other two , but it’s odd that Holly’s domain is populated by birds and she’s wearing a bird skull

Was it a nightmare and she kill it? Is it a beloved pet and she couldn’t part with them even after death? 🤷‍♀️

I can’t really think of any alternatives for her or the other two animal hat sisters atm, but at least it’s looks badass even if it doesn’t do much personality wise, so points for looking cool at least

Edith: Edith I think is the worst design of the sisters , hands down, no competition. I mean , what is there to really say about her? “Oh we have a level based around a combination of spicy food and ice drinks with dragon butlers , how should we design this chick?”

“Just put her in red with a lizard hat”

Almost nothing about her design reflects her domain besides that she’s blonde and wears red , and that’s only half of the domain she’s meant to be part off. Her outfit pattern could’ve at least have some reference to the ice levels, or give her literally anything to connect her to those ice levels

I also don’t like how her hair is styled, the colour is fine but the shape looks ugly

Incredibly morbid Edith walks around with a dead butler on her head, especially considering the final boss/king of her level is also a dragon. Unlike Holly and Annetta, I can’t even give Edith credit for looking cool because it’s just more red on a very red and bland design

…… do you think Edith uses her corpse hat as a hand puppet?

Annetta: While I think it’s a weird choice to have nymphs of nature walk around with corpse head gear (much less ones of their domain’s general population) I think Annetta is the most justified of the nymph sisters to be wearing a hat made of a dead animal

Considering that her domain has a notable fishing population and she’s already dressed in fish scales, Annetta wearing a fish skull does actually contribute to showing the lore of her as a character and her connection to her domain. Unlike Holly and Edith , I don’t need to come up with some theory about their fashion choices when Annetta’s reflects already existing lore in origins (what little of it at least)

I personally do think the outfit looks ugly and plain uncomfortable, but I will give this design some credit for having one of the more visually detailed designs by virtue of her scales alone, and it actually makes sense for the nymph whose domain is the literal ocean to be in a skimpy outfit, even if her shell bra has to be glued on to her boobs

Unlike Edith’s outfit colour which is just red, Annetta’s has various shades of blues and teals that are reminiscent of the sea. It’s pretty I like it

Helena: Much like Edith there’s not that much to say here but what I can say is mostly positive

Helena’s a pretty standard design of “blonde chick in cool blues with white fluff details” and yeah that’s generic usually, but here I really like her. I think it’s how the fur and cloth looks textured along how her hair front is styled that makes her incredibly cute to me

Weird that a mountain nymph who has to live through cold weather wears a skimpy outfit with her bare thighs out , but I’m gonna assume that’s because she , much like her sisters, was designed to be sexy first and given aesthetics after they made the body model

Fée de la Mort/VooDoo Mama/Big Mama: As cool as she looks, when compared to both her monster form and the other nymphs , you can tell she wasn’t planned to be one of them, especially when you look up Mamma Hite

I bring that up because while Fee has a good design, she is also a visual metaphor that reflects Origins’ identity: a failed series reboot whose plot was scrapped in favour of goofy extremism (or sex appeal in the nymphs case)

So about Fee’s actual design: I personally don’t like the pink used on her and would’ve liked her Nymph form to reflect the monster form besides the hair

probs to the fact she’s the only nymph with her own pose which already gives her a lot of personality , but the combination of her tattoos, bone jewellery and her baggy looking eyes really sells the fact she’s from the land of the livid dead and thus sticks out amongst the other fairies, even if you ignored the bat wings she has

visually she does work as a undead fairy of the underworld who likes to rock and roll, so job well done with that

Bridgewater fanart! (Who is surprised? /lh /j)

This fanart has been inspired by Lauren Shippen herself, from the # she put on the reblog she did of my Jeremy Bradshaw sleeping fanart “also: new headcanon I now have vipin started TAing for Jeremy when he was still in undergrad soJeremy also has one photo of the two of them at Vipin's graduation in his office”. So I had to draw it of course, I’m so thankful for Lauren’s support, feeling truly so honoured so this is the least I can do 🤧

This is to me, what Vipin asked to do to Jeremy, and so he did because he has always appreciated Vipin (a beginning of friendship there?? They both cherish that pic for sure and yes I plan on drawing Jeremy’s office, and yeah I only drew this to put it in a small frame in Jeremy’s office, that’s my dedication 😭🤌 I’m putting a read more for a further explanation of my headcanon and also the outfit (regalia, cords, medallions wise) because yeah there is a whole day of research behind this and also finger cramps because my Apple Pencil decided to slowly d word on me as I was trying to finish this fanart so I used my fingers jejdjd)

So: please know that I’m French, so it was very hard to find information about graduation ceremonies: we do not have that in France, so I’m sorry if something is off!

First of all, professors and whole faculty members must wear their regalia at graduation ceremonies hence Jeremy having his academic regalia. And it made me learn that the velvet colour on some parts of it + the hood colour differ depending on the field they had their phd in, Jeremy’s is white because to me he has his phd in history (at least from what I understood, as even in S1 EP01 he talks in his lecture room about getting credits in history) which counts in the “art, social and humanities” section because history counts as humanities which is white. (Which also explains why Vipin’s tassel on his cap is white because to me he also went in that field) Jeremy’s hat is a velvet tam with a gold tassel which is the formal hat for the doctorate level.

Then… come Vipin’s cords and medallions. I headcanon Vipin as a really high achieving student, I might be wrong though, but he is too great of a TA to not be. So as a disclaimer: all the information I gathered there come from things linked to the Bridgewater State University because I really wanted to be accurate as much as I possibly could (Yes I truly spent a day for that and I might have drunk one or two Monsters).

For the medallions: the one with the black neck ribbon is “the Diversity Champion medallion recognizes and honors those students who have worked tirelessly for the advancement of diversity and inclusion during their time at Bridgewater College.” I really see Vipin trying to really be actively trying to make it go for the best in clubs and such at BSU and the second one with the blue/green neck ribbon is “The Alpha Chi medallion symbolizes the honor and distinction of being a member of the national academic honor society.

The supporting neck ribbon is in the colors of Alpha Chi.”

Which brings us to the cords he has on his regalia: the green and blue cords represent Alpha Chi as well.

The gold cord represent his level of achievement it’s for “summa cum laude” (“meaning "with highest praise", typically awarded to graduates in the top 1%, 2%, or 5% of their class, depending on the institution.” Which is the highest distinction one can have when you get a diploma at uni in the US).

Then the red and blue cords “Graduates wearing blue and red cords with mixed tassels are members of the national history honor society, Phi Alpha Theta.” (Which for me also was a good idea as Vipin is truly going through so many documents linked to history for Jeremy, our guy is that interested into academic stuff)

Then for the purple rainbow scarf… it’s a real thing I’ve seen on graduating pictures from BSU!! And I gotta admit… I’m quite fond of the idea of Vipin being pan 🫣 (just my own hc always)

I’m sorry for the extra lengthy explanation but I feel like it was needed (maybe it is to flex my research /j) as I think it was really interesting in the development of the hcs around Vipin and even Jeremy!

And to me needless to say but Jeremy has been greatly moved that Vipin asked him to do a picture together where they throw the cap in the air because to Jeremy, Vipin could’ve done it with his fellow classmates. And Jeremy is fully aware of how much it was important for Vipin. (And maybe own little headcanon: I’m sure Jeremy doesn’t even have much pics from his own graduations)

I truly imagine that during the whole graduation ceremony Jeremy was feeling uncomfy in his academic faculty regalia because it’s way too formal (although it’s quite mandatory to wear it) so he is just 🧍🏻 standing being no thoughts head full of folklore only (he is of course very proud of his students nonetheless) therefore, Vipin asking him to do that picture must have been THE highlight he had during the ceremony (even counting all the ceremonies he ever had to attend to)

HELTER SKELTER (2012) REVIEW!!

i watched this film for the first time two days ago and it is seriously good. important warning before anyone dicides to watch this with their parents or anyone you dont want to watch two or three graphic sex scenes with. I was like ooh a psychological thriller, my mum loves psychologica thrillers! i learned fhe hard way that the 15 rating was generous.

starting off with set! this film has some truly great set designs. so incredibly 2012 if that makes any sense to anyone but me. the ones that particularly stand out to me are as followsss:

-the bathtub scene, oh my goodness it looks perfect. the petals, the colours. wow this movie uses colour so well it really does, the reds pop so much.

-Lilicos apartment in general honestly. i adore the giant rosary hanging from her mirror and just AHHHH its so perfect

-the podium near the end. this is so different to alot of the sets that are sort of poorly lit and crowded. its so empty in an unnerving way, and the fact there are so many microphones and cameras for just lilico stood alone at the front its just so perfect for this scene it put you on edge

-this is just a comment on the scene in general but the shop window where she cries and gets rained on and yadda yadda yadda. beautiful scene in a depressing kind of way, the way the lights make the rain appear red and gold is so nice

SPEAKING OF CAMERAS woweeeee this movie uses camera flashes and sounds really well. dont get me wrong lilico is crazy and most of the things she does i HOPE most people wouldnt do, but the way they often hyperbolise how loud amd bright the cameras are really makes you think wow id go crazy too. near the beginning she says “everytime the shutter clicks its like my brain is melting out my ears” (may not be exactly what she says but you get the idea) and honestly she might be right about that.

COSTUMESSSS okay wow. my favourites have to be her final outfit when it is revealed she is still alive. the eyepatch? ate. the dress? incredible. what i said before about the REDSSS! red is just her colour.

anyway now some stuff about the actual movie and not just the aesthetics. i spent alot of it feeling so so bad for Hada. But then hada just continued to do her bidding and at the end of the day, if she had quit, what would lilico even have been able to do about it? Hada is aware lilico is nothing without her so why not just leave? so then i kind of stopped feeling quite so bad. i think a sane person would quit once it got to acid throwing territory.

Plot wise i think its great, i do think that this movie would not be made the same now, because a key part of the story is that once people find out about her surgery, they all hate her, which i suppose does happen but not really on the same level. these days its become the default that a celebrity has had plastic surgery and its a suprise if they HAVENT, but also i wouldnt know if celebrity culture and plastic surgery are the same in japan as they are here so maybe this hasnt changed as much there

when lilico stabbed her eye onstage my first thought was “well would that even kill her?”. but then i thought “its a movie. it looked good for the scene that way, movies arent always accurate” and guess what. she wasnt dead. my second thought was “why was there no security at a such a huge press event? why did no one do anything when she pulled out the knife? why did no one move a muscle when she stabbed herself or even when she fell?” but i guess because the scene with the feathers wouldnt have looked so good. which is a good enough answer for me.

i was slightly confused to what her plans were at the end because she revealed the fact the was alive to kozue but where was she going to go from there? just go back into her career like nothing happened? how the hell is that going to work? i guess she isnt the most foreward thinker but still. i loved this ending but it left me with alot of questions, but i suppose they didnt need to be answered. also this movie was seriously long which i loved but if it had gone on for any longer my mother would have gone to bed.

this is a poorly organised review i know, but i wanted to get my first post out the way, in the future i will plan and organise! but anyway. i live this movie and i seriously recommend but also am sorry if you read this before watching because you got alot of it spoilt.

I have been screaming internally about Ed and his little wedding toppers since I saw the teaser, so here's the obligatory Ed In A Wedding Dress fic! Also obsessed with the makeover he gave the little auxiliary wardrobe figurine, which isn't something I've seen anyone else discussing yet, so obviously I had to include that too 🔥🙌🔥 {AO3}

He's got a little carved wooden skull somewhere, in his box of shit he brought over from the Queen Anne's, when he decided his unnervingly empty quarters needed more knives. He's also got plenty of scraps of black leather, with the revamping of the crew's gear they've been doing, and plenty of black paint to go around.

His hands hurt from stabbing wood, fucking up the empty shelves, gouging at the table. Must be nighttime, no light filtering through the papered-over windows, only a fat candle burning low. Creeped up on him, it did, deep as he was into his continued redecoration. His hands hurt, but they won't stay still.

The little skull shows up in the little ornate box where he keeps his stash of weed, for some reason. Happy coincidence, that. He packs his pipe as he grabs it, along with the paint and the least fucked-up brush he can find, with the bristles only a bit wonky and not shedding too much from previous abuse. He lights his pipe, and a couple of extra candles for light.

He stabs an iron nail into the underside of the skull so he can hold it without messing up the paint, and goes about turning it pitch black, really getting into all the little details in the carving with a brush that's really too big for it. Not like it matters much, when the goal is to make it all one solid colour. He tries to make the finish as smooth as he can anyway, despite the wrong tool.

He sets it aside to dry, but his hands still hurt, still won't stay still.

He lifts the crate on the too-empty shelf, the one that hides one of the few remaining things that no one can see. (That Ed can't stand to see.) Peeling the little jacket and waistcoat away is easy enough. He grabs one of his thinner knives, more of a scalpel really, that's seen a skinning or two in the past. He digs the tip into every little stitch that holds the tiny clothing together, pulls its pieces apart without damaging them. He traces every pannel onto his leather scraps, cuts them all to shape.

Hands still hurt, won't stay still, so he gets to sewing.

The fat candle burns out, he replaces it with a new one, refills his pipe. The tiny outfit comes together, all black. He hammers in a few of the teeny-tiniest studs in his collection to achieve the right vibe.

The paint on the skull's dry enough to the touch now, so he stabs the other end of the nail into the neck of the mannequin, and dresses him up in his new little outfit. Looks like a right vampire clown now, he does, all tough and scary-looking muppet, perfect fit for Blackbeard's crew. He grabs the crate that hid him and drops all the fabric cuttings and shit into it, kicks it all under the table.

His hands still hurt, still won't fucking stay still. The grey light of dawn is making an attempt to filter in through the windows now.

He grabs his rum and crawls onto the bed nook, ends up passing out still in his leathers, kohl caked on his face.

Izzy looks at the little shelf guy next time he's in the room, jaw doing that angry clenchy thing it always fucking does, but he wisely keeps his mouth shut about it.

She's all creamy white porcelain skin, bright red curls, pristine dress. His hands itch to crush her in a tight fist, her and her rosy pink bellend both. (The pink bellend's not so pink anymore, kohl rubbed off all over his side where Ed's thumb wouldn't stay still.)

He's not got a brush that's fine enough for this, to get all the little details just right. He grabs a pinchful of strands of his own hair and cuts off about an inch from the ends, secures them to the tip of a thin wooden stick with some glue and string.

He grabs his black paint, some weed for his pipe, lights some extra candles for light.

He waters down the paint for the skin, makes a thin wash that should look brown once dried. It ends up just looking like a kinda dirty wash over porcelain white skin, so he draws his tattoos over it to hide it a bit, snake on his arm, hawk on his chest, beard on her face. He darkens her hair, mixes some chalk into the paint to make a muddy grey for highlights. He adds some shading to the cleavage.

Some of the skin-wash run off to stain the skirts around the hand area, but aside from that spot the dress still looks too fucking bright, too blue, too nice and proper.

With the thick undiluted paint, he lines the folds of the dress, shadows under some ruffles, follows some of the seams. He darkens the flowers and lace around the collars, on one of the sleeves. He draws asymmetric black shapes on some areas, makes it look cool and intentional, like the asymmetry of his jacket.

She looks as right as he can make her. He still wants to crush her in his fist, hurt his hand with the porcelain shards. Her and the bellend both.

He buries them both in the crate under some leather scraps, kicks them back under the table.

(Ed brings them out some nights, when his hands hurt and won't stay still, when his eyes won't close no matter how much they ache, run dry.)

Ed sees the dress during a raid, inside a trunk in the quarters of one of the posh passengers on this ship. It's mostly sky blue, with accents of lavender, all soft pastels and delicate lace, opulent silk. It conjures up memories of a painted little figurine, probably long lost in the mess and confusion of everything that's happened since.

He asks for Fang's help to carry it back to the ship and hide it where Stede won't see.

He doesn't do all the work in one night, hoping to numb his restless hands. Instead, over the course of a few weeks, Ed enlists the help of Frenchie, Fang and Wee John, with occasional contributions from Jim, the Swede or Pete, and they work only until their hands tire with the satisfying ache of a job well done, in stolen moments that won't make Stede suspect a thing and ruin the surprise. He doesn't smoke while they work, this time, not wanting the smell to soak up into the fabric, but they do come together for a smoke and a laugh afterwards, once they're done with their secret project for the day.

They add a studded harness of black leather around the bodice that gives some visual interest and does some real favours to his cleavage. They cut off the right sleeve, a ruffle of black, purple and silver lace draped over the shoulder in its place, matching the one they use on the cuff of the left sleeve, finishing off just under his elbow. They add a layer of sheer black lace over the skirts, still showing the shimmer of the blue silk underneath.

They've properly tailored it to his body, too, and when Ed finally sees himself in the mirror with it, it hugs his shape just right. A perfect fit.

It looks even better on the day, with flowers and ribbons threaded through his curls, his short beard neatly combed and trimmed. In the bright light coming in through the clear windows, he uses the detail brush he made with his own hair to cleanly line his eyes with a sharp wing of kohl, adds a hint of rouge to his lips.

The purple cravat Stede gifted him is tied around his neck, the tails framing his hawk tattoo, with his favourite pearl necklace layered on top. He has to marvel once again at just how fucking good his tits look in this dress, a hint of chest-hair peeking enticingly over the lacy neckline. His eyes water a bit, but he holds back the tears, not wanting to ruin his eyeliner just yet.

Stede doesn't bother containing his tears when he finally sees Ed, an awed gasp that turns into the brightest smile Ed's ever seen, even with the waterworks. He looks gorgeous and glowing in a new suit of red silk, with golden accents and a matching golden waistcoat that really bring out the shine of his perfectly tousled curls. The crew's smiling faces surround him as he makes his way to Stede, where he stands before Oluwande. There are some more teary eyes among the crew too, but Ed wills himself not to cry yet.

Ed stops to face Stede, as his hands come up to hold Ed's.

His hands finally still, held steady, safe in their cradle, no longer hurting. His eyes spill over, tears running freely into his smile.

maybe im an ass but ember’s face being round feels. wrong? i guess? its just that its Really rounded and it feels weird when she as a character is otherwise sharp edges and also very long. like, she looks sort of stretched out otherwise so the round face feels out of place

her colour scheme, at least, is okay. my issue with it falls in her clothing, where there’s exactly two colours and its horrifically boring. come on. you have green, purple and teal to work with. use it.

more than just colours, her outfit as a whole is a little more basic than id expect. i keep falling back to “well, it’s a cartoon. they have to simplify the designs to keep it easy to animate” but then i scroll down 2 cm and that spectra lady is right there. they could take the time to give ember some patterns. anything.

johnny is fine design wise. id add some stuff if i was left to my own devices and again i don’t like the art style but that’s not what we’re talking about here. he has the weaselly look that’s both “this guy sucks and is cringe as hell” and “this guy owns and rides a motorcycle.” really, the shorthand could only be better if they gave him a banged up motorcycle helmet

kitty. her colour scheme is killing me. the issue here, for me, is that she’s all bright clashing colours. i get the green, she’s a ghost, it’s green ect ect. the red is SO bright though. id understand if it was a smaller bit that was bright red. but One of the colours needs to be toned down a little. honestly? i’d prefer it be the green.

if i were redesigning her completely, i’d show her roots, which she probably has a solid inch or two of. maybe more. green fishnet tights becomes Just Fishnets. red colour is less in your face, dulled down a bit?

take away the purple lipstick also. im so confused by it. do all the ghosts with lipstick have purple lipstick. why is it purple. i get ember - it matches the purple of her guitar. where did it come from on kitty

spectra’s HAIRRRRRRR with all due respect i actually loathe it. make fun of me whatever i didnt know she existed until a fic mentioned her and then pulled her in as an important character and did a whole bunch to make her really cool and suave and hot even. and i was like okay i have NO clue what you’re talking about. i look her up. i see that. and i have to read the rest of the fic feeling in my heart that she uses a jar of gel every day. i mean she’s a ghost so i guess not but GOODNESS.

other than that. i’d probably take out the 2 piece of her villain suit. she looks so professional that i imagine she wouldn’t really be the type to show off her stomach? her legs sure. i’m not even going to pretend i know her im just saying things. add more purple to the outfit, add more RED to the outfit. other thing i hate about her hair is that it doesn’t fit her villain outfit at ALL it only matches her businesswear.

i’d even say, take out the purple and swap it out for reds and greens. earrings, green, makeup red. i’d add a flash of a different colour, probably in her necklace? maybe gold. i don’t know. anyway

The Mad Hatter kinnie went off the rails

I am only recently familiar with Tetch so this took a lot of research, design discussion time !!

Prefacing this with the fact my Jervis is genderqueer and uses he/she pronouns.

As a child Jervis Tetch was bounced around the foster care system with his sister. During this time Jervis and his sister only had each other and they found comfort in fiction specifically the stories of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There". Jervis was especially attached to the stories, and the two siblings nicknamed each other "Hatter" (Jervis) and "Alice" (her sister who I don't have an actual name for yet). When they were younger the siblings would often hold pretend tea parties inspired by Lewis Carroll's works. As a child Jervis was often bullied often over two things, a combination of genetics and stunted growth because of a lack of food for years on end resulted in Jervis being particularly short (4'9 as an adult to be exact) plus her generally odd looks, and her being autistic and having some "weird" habits and quirks. The bullying and being in the foster care system and a myriad of other traumatic events and circumstances did nothing good for Jervis' mental health and over time he developed paranoid schizophrenia although his symptoms weren't too bad till later in life. As an adult Jervis managed to go to university and eventually became a neural scientist at Wayne Enterprises, she began developing her mind control technology during this time and hypnosis skills (idk how else to describe that).

As adults Jervis and "Alice" stuck together and shared an apartment (I would like to clarify there was 0 incest I don't fuck with that shit and I do not want to write a character like that, yes I'm using the sister idea but unlike Gotham (the show) there is no incest). Except this apartment was in a really shitty part of Gotham (I mean all of Gotham was shitty but like in one of the worst areas) and one day their apartment was robbed and Alice was murdered. This event triggered essentially a psychotic break and Jervis had an episode convinced he was the Mad Hatter, and he kidnapped women with similar features to his sister in his attempts to "find Alice" although she considered most to be "the wrong Alice" and they would be killed. She was caught though and thrown into Arkham pretty quickly.

Further explanation of her mental health just because I want to explain it. Jervis experiences periods of lucidity where he is calm, aware of his actions, and experiences minimal hallucinations. But then she also experiences bad episodes where he experiences extreme hallucination, delusion, lost time, paranoia, etc. His hallucinations are centred around Alice in Wonderland. During his episodes she will often take hallucinogens and other drugs to maintain and further her hallucinations (idk if that would work irl I haven't done much research into hallucinogens and schizophrenia but it sounds logical). His episodes vary in severity and can be quite mild sometimes and her extreme episodes are surprisingly rare. Anyway with his crimes Jervis uses mind control technology, although it's not full control it's more of an influence and a suggestion, if an individual has absolutely 0 inclination or want to do something then they more then likely won't do something, but human beings are complicated so usually they'll do what Jervis wants even if they require a little extra push to do so. Also generally Jervis speaks in rhyme and using Alice in Wonderland quotes, but these quirks are especially bad during his episodes where she speaks solely in rhyme and quotes.

Outfit time, I drew two Hatter fits because Jervis is essentially irrelevant before he's the Mad Hatter. She sticks to mostly blues and oranges and using patterns to create interest, although occasionally wears much more chaotic outfits both colour and accessory wise. I think overtime her outfits would become more disheveled and patchworked. In Arkham somehow Jervis made a paper mache hat, idk when or how but I'm guessing they let him keep it assuming if he's happy and calm then she's less likely to have an episode (although they've got her on so many drugs he's barely human anyway). Oh and the watch with his outfits is basically because his mind control is a combination between his technology as well as good old fashion persuasion and hypnosis, and just the watch helps with it.

As already stated Jervis is genderqueer and uses he/she pronouns, idk his sexuality I didn't put any thought into that probably aroace. Jervis has a complicated relationship with Scarecrow, their relationship is positive, they're very close but not romantic, I guess it'd best be described as a queer platonic relationship but honestly I don't think they've ever defined it or even discussed it. When lucid he has a tense friendship with the Riddler, when having an episode he's quite fond of the Riddler. Other than that she's friendly with the other rogues but not overly close with anyone. And that is all I have to say, fuck I wrote a lot about a character I barely even knew existed before a few months ago.

I finally did Paraluman’s outfit lineup!!

It took me awhile with some pauses in between and NGL I love how this turned out!! Also I did not mean to make Paraluman’s outfit lineup into a rainbow theme that was a happy little accident cugff

Anyway onto each outfit!

Undergarments - legit just a chemise cause I HC’ed Ferelden to have Italian Renaissance-esque outfits because dammit I think everyone would look interesting in those and last I checked the chemise is the underwear for this (unless I’m wrong in which case pls correct me historical fashion is a fun interest)

Mage attire - I changed the mage robes in Kinloch Hold into something more to the fashion I gave Ferelden. The fabric is good but it’s not great, there’s some gold there but it’s more on a way to show what the Crown is able to provide while also not giving them too much because of the fact that the mages are still seen as non-entities of a sort so it’s kind of strange for them to give too much of a good thing for mages

Landsmeet attire - This was chosen by Eamon and it’s fashioned after older eras’ outfits meant to give off “Mystical Wise Elf Vibes” to make Paraluman a bit more palatable to the nobles of Ferelden..

Coronation - Now this is where you start seeing Paraluman start taking control over how she dresses and does her hair. Her hair style is different and more or less something you’d expect to see suited for a coronation but her outfit colour is still rather cold which shows some parts of the life she’d had in the Circle still somewhat having its hold on her.

Wedding - Her wedding with Alistair involved a big decision for her. She refused the white and blue gown Anora had offered to commission for her (partially in apology since Anora betrayed Paraluman when Paraluman had promised the throne to her partially because Anora genuinely does want to do this wedding gown commission thanks) Instead, Paraluman returned to Kinloch Hold and asked her old friends to help with the making of her gown. (A Knight-Lieutenant Joseph Terrell offered to fetch the right dyes as well as handle her hair due to his expertise in hairstyling for his sister, the dye offer was accepted) Aside from that, Jowan visited Paraluman in the humble dwelling she and Alistair had gotten until things at Amaranthine were arranged. There, Paraluman asks Jowan if he could do her hair for her wedding since she knew he won’t be able to witness it due to his current standing with Irving and the templars as well as Eamon who will all be in attendance. Come the day itself and her gown was shown to be a soft yellow with some gold netting at the biceps of the sleeve with pearls also sewn in. This begins Paraluman’s stronger usage of warmer tones.

Arlessa - Her court attire is simple but instead of sticking to yellow, she went for a light orange and red ensemble. Her hair was kept in a simple high bun kept in place with the headpiece. Despite the rank of Arlessa, Paraluman doesn’t have any interest in getting more expensive fabrics due to her preference for comfortable fabrics.

Maternity - And finally, Paraluman’s maternity outfit. She really focused on stronger warm tones by then and her hair had returned to a more loose style but is now longer than before. This is when Paraluman finally settled on a style of dress and also her preferred colours. The Arlessa gown is the last step and IG this is her final product of sorts. 

also the recurring necklace is Reflection aka the illusion Jowan’s gift to her. She never takes it off since it was an important thing to her that ties her to her surrogate elder brother. She just wasn’t able to wear it to the Landsmeet cause Eamon said she shouldn’t.

Hell yeah, I'm always here for outfit critiques.

The biggest issue imo with these prom outfits are that they're all practically the same. I get it, new outfits take time to design and model, but if they can make two whole outfits for Cinder for that same prom arc then I'm certain they could've put a bit more effort in designing cute outfits for the kids.

I'm not gonna talk about the guys' out of RWBYJNR since they're both literally the same tuxedo and there's nothing to say about them. They're boring.

All the girls' dresses are just really similar and unimaginative. Most are in their colours (apart from Yang), but the style is just modern prom dress you get after googling dresses for five minutes. All of them aren't stylised to the girls like the rest of their outfits, so we have Ruby wearing a similar dress to Weiss despite the two having very different tastes and themes.

Don't get me wrong, the dresses are by no means bad or ugly, they're just not that creative.

You would not believe how annoying it was to find a good screenshot of Ruby's whole outfit. Ignore her glowing skin.

So, this is a cute dress! It's obviously in Ruby's colour and really the only time she's fully in red without her big cape, and the splashes of black are nice and don't take away from the colour. I like that's it's a gradient that goes into a brighter red at the hem where the black trim is. On top of that, the black sash adds some interest around Ruby's waist.

Now, I really don't like the lace that's holding the top of her dress together? It's like the lace on her corset, but that's on a corset, not a fabric dress where it just looks strange. Not only that, but the semi-transparent mesh thing on her chest isn't really suiting with the style.

It just looks too revealing for Ruby? The length of the dress is perfectly fine, but her showing off her chest with the laced up dress and see through mesh underneath is not really a design choice I would attribute to Ruby like it works with Weiss.

It's cute, and I think the covered chest and short sleeves suits Ruby more.

I mean... it's a dress.

Really, it's a nice dress. The style of it directly ties with her usual dress style compared to Ruby's sudden sexier version, the mesh underneath actually helps to introduce some contrast between her white skin and blindingly white dress, and it is her colour!

But it's just really boring. It's a simple white dress with a black lace thing underneath, there's nothing of interest on the dress, so you just kinda have nothing to look at. It would've been nice if they took more inspiration outfit wise from her V4 alternative dress, except obviously changing the colours.

I think this is a very regal and flowy type of dress that really suits Weiss!

This is a really cute dress.

Honestly, with how it's designed, this was the only time I think Blake being in purple rather than straight up black works better, otherwise we'd have the opposite but similar problem that we have with Weiss. The black of her collar, sash and shoes still keeps the colour, and the purple isn't the ugly purple they would use later on in the show.

The lil transparent shirt (What is it with these dresses and transparent tops?) adds a lil' more interest to the top area, and the streamlined design with the slit is a different look from the rest of her team, since they all went in short and puffy out skirts compared to Blake's.

Yes, it's a little plain still, and the bow randomly changing to a teal colour rather than a black like it looks here is a random colour that sticks out a bit too much with Blake's pallete. That said, it's still a nice dress.

Though Blake could've been one of the girls to go in a suit or something? She never wears dresses and prefers more pants and shorts, while still being pretty feminine. Idk, I don't understand the strict gender roles in this show where Jaune got laughed at for simply wearing a dress.

Thought that didn't exist in Remnant but okay.

Since her allusion is Belle, you could easily take inspiration for Blake's dress from Belle's in the Disney movie. Not so much as big and poofy, but the style of the top portion would look really nice.

Once again, Yang is in my least favourite outfit of the team.

It's just really boring to look at. It's a short dress with a lower neckline. I know it was because they didn't realise until it was too late, but Yang is once again not in her colour. I really wouldn't put her in bright yellow, but a nice cream or maybe pastel yellow would work a bit better with the big mass of yellow hair behind her.

A gradient similar to Ruby's would be really nice on the dress. Have the yellow be more saturated at the bottom to better distribute the colour throughout.

But really, and I've seen a lot of artists do this, put Yang in a qipao. If she's meant to be Chinese, why not take the opportunity to put her in a Chinese style dress? There's so many beautiful designs on them, Yang would look stunning in one.

Really, I think this is up there with Blake as my favourite out of all the prom outfits. It's not a hard contest, but this dress is the only time where the overall dress style fits Nora.

The heart shaped top with the pointed bottom looks like a heart, fitting in with Nora's heart motif in her design, along with the puffed out skirt that sells the cute and girly style that Nora uses. The white skirt rather than having it all be pink makes the heart stand out more, and just keeps it from looking too plain like Weiss or Yang's.

I don't know if it's just the weird filter that plays on the Poser era episodes, but I like that the white even has a light pink tint to it.

Really, I would just add accessories and some detail to the dress, as well as change the shoes. All the girls are wearing open heeled shoes.

Pyrrha, what Carrie nonsense are you wearing-

Okay, the actual dress style is a nice one. I think it really does fit Pyrrha's more mature personality compared to the younger, more girlish style that most of the other girls wear.

The problem is that it's all red and it look ugly because of it. This is way too much of one colour with no detailing or accessories to break it up. You look at it for five seconds and get bored of it, because there's nothing there worth noting.

The only thing that catches your attention is Pyrrha's circlet, but now compared to her fighting gear, the gold is stuck on her head, partially hidden behind her red fringe. You really need to take more of the gold and add it to the actual outfit to better distribute the colour.

Go more for Greek style, like toga, with multiple layers that you can add different colours and designs to so you fit Pyrrha's allusion and make it more interesting and just nice to look at.

You are a half bunny half human breed. You have a fluffy (f/c) bunny ear and a little bunny tail behind you. Whenever you and your master, Zhongli stands between eachother, people will always be shocked because of how difference in size the both of you are. Zhongli's hand always engulfed your waist that's how big he is compared to you.

When people heard about their dragon king having a half bunny half human breed as a servant, they tend to think that you are going to die soon. And to be honest that's what you thought too considering you never really meet the dragon king.. but now, you and your half dragon half king master is so SO close even the people around the castle was surprised.

King Zhongli was never close to anyone. Not even close with the neighbouring King and queen. So it is always a wonder.. how can you get close to this.. scary king? Well you don't know either but you are happy to be a special half human half bunny servant for him.

Everywhere your master go you always follow. That's his number one rule for you. Follow everywhere he go. The second rule he made is to always follow his order. Which is normal but.. sometimes his.. order is interesting.

And you did, you take a deep breath and took a glance on your master and then proceed to think about how amazing your boss is, not realizing that you have stopped cleaning the bookshelf.

When your mind has started working again you panicked, started to wail your hand around, scared for you life.

Y-you feel like sofia, becoming a royalty overnight?! You shake your head quickly and was about to tun towards the door when suddenly a bunch of maid's appear, some you know and some you're not familiar with, all of them looking at you wide eyes.

"What in the world happened?!"

Questions was thrown at you but nothing get passed your head. This all is so sudden.. and it is scary but thinking about being togather with Zhongli... Your boss who is now your boyfriend apparently doesn't sounds bad.

From that day forward everything is a mess for you. Of course you changed from servant to a royalty, who would be shocked? Nothing is easy for you, now you are being served, Zhongli called you "dear" or "loved" or even "baby bunny". you, who are not used to this always blushing whenever you are in close proximity to him.

There's alot of things you are not prepared for near the future and you know it, yet you couldn't help but feel comfort and happiness, reminded that you'll be with your boyfriend in every step of the way.. who would thought that you.. a simple servant of zhongli would become his soulmate? The world will never know, one thing for sure is that you and him are in love.

Ok so here was that outfit I was talking about.

(Ignore his face. I messed up on the line-art on his face. In the 0.1% chance that Ateez sees this I apologize in advance.)

So anyway, let's break down what we're looking at here. This was an outfit that one of the Ateez dudes were wearing the other day while performing their song 'Cyberpunk'. Or at least, this is a drawing of him wearing the outfit. Since the group often has some intense choreo, and the suit was all black with various layers, it was a little confusing to understand what was going on until I drew it.

(That being said, I almost definitely got some details wrong, because I couldn't find out what the back of the suit looked like.)

For starters, anything shaded in with pencil is some sort of regular fabric, and anything coloured in with the marker pen is some sort of reflective-ish type of material. maybe leather, I dunno. Probably leather. It better not be that pleather stuff or else— (has to stop myself from going on a tangent)

Anywho, the base seems to be some pants (not too loose or tight) and a very low-cut tank top (relatively tight). However, there's an additional piece of fabric that goes over the chest of the tank top, effectively giving his chest more coverage. Not sure if this is only attached at the front, or it is it's own piece with a back to it.

Then we got these interesting-shaped shoulder things that seem to be holding up his plain emo wrist-warmers. Except his wrist-warmers are more like arm-warmers, going from the middle of his fingers to above his elbow. Strangely, the shoulder things don't seem to be tightly fastened around his arms, though? Perhaps they're attached to the tank top.

There is this thick leather-ish... belt? at the waist, somewhat high up, but not too high. Honestly I don't know if it's a belt, because it doesn't have buckles or any visible seam or zipper at the front.

Now for the coolest part of the outfit: 2 layers of a non-symmetrical half-skirt type of fabric, hanging from the sides of the top of the pants. These skirt-like fabrics also have straps of leather-type material, kinda like someone repurposed some old belts.

And of course, shoes. To be honest the shoes were pretty normal so I don't know what else to say about them. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Yeah, looking back, the outfit wasn't as complex drawing-wise as I thought. For some reason I originally got the impression that the top was made out of a lot more pieces of fabric. However, there's still aspects that are confusing me (like how those shoulder things didn't slip. Or how the leathery pieces hanging from the skirt-like fabric didn't become a tripping hazard. And most importantly: do his pants have pockets).

notes: this was inspired by his rlly cute line where he offers to teach u how to match suits, vests, etc (when u click on his collar!!) and i thought it was the sweetest line ever it made my heart explode

you had only transitioned recently, and needed a new suit for a wedding you were attending since your previous dress would definitely not cut it. your boyfriend, who had been there supporting you through everything, had offered to not only come to the wedding to make you feel more at ease, but also help you pick out a nice suit!

you were worried about everybody’s reaction at the wedding, though they already knew, they hadn’t seen you in person since you came out to them. but with vyn’s reassurance and expertise, you were sure to be comfortable at the wedding and he wanted to guarantee that. he knew what you liked style wise, so he didn’t think it to take him very long to help you find something you liked but what he didn’t suspect was you putting on every outfit and frowning in displeasure as you stared at yourself in the fitting room’s mirror.

ah, he should’ve anticipated this. he hated the look of distaste in your eyes when you’d look at yourself, he needed to intervene or otherwise you’d keep silently worrying about whether you look masculine enough.

wrapping an arm around your shoulder, and resting his chin upon your head, he questioned you. “what’s wrong, my love? you look handsome,” he helped you button up the cuffs on your wrists.

“my shoulders are too small to properly fit,” you frowned.

“we could get it tailored?” he suggested, taking a step back so he could slightly pull on the fabric of the dress shirt in order to show how it would look like with the altercations.

“what if it still looks weird?” you brushed off his hands and the fabric moved back to its original form.

“you’re the most attractive man i’ve ever met, nothing would ever look “weird” on you,” his eyes met yours in the reflection of the mirror, he looked very sternly, as if what he had said was law. “it doesn’t matter how you look, your identity is yours and you can express it in any way you see fits. it’s nobody else’s business.”

“what do you mean?”

“you shouldn’t hold yourself to the standards of other people, for most of the time those standards are ones that you think others have for you,” he snaked his arms around your body from behind and continued to stare at the reflection of you and him in the mirror before softly pressing a kiss to your temple. he could tell you were pondering his words very carefully.

“i buy this then,” you motioned to the dress shirt you were wearing and then jacket which you had taken off to investigate the rest of the outfit, the pants too which vyn had picked out himself to match the rest. along with that, a nice tie which its colour went well with everything else.

vyn gave a joyful smile and immediately ushered you to change out of the clothing so you could buy it, he seemed more excited than you were. when at the cash, he even insisted that he paid and when you tried to pull out your wallet he swiftly scolded you for even trying to pay.
