PLEASEEEEE reblog. This is an old graphic as weekly rent refers to her hotel but long story short one of my besties has been living basically out of hotels for the last six years and has had very unstable housing. She's basically got a place but needs 55 dollars to secure it today. If y'all are looking for a way to show up for community, this would help her immensely.

What are we even doing here?
The more people who understand there are ways to meet your needs, and not at the cost of someone else's needs, the better. Particularly if they don't hold bigoted views which lead to silly things like going out of your way to prevent someone else from having their needs met. Making the world worse for someone because you don't know how to make it better for yourself. Life's hard enough without wasting your precious time, energy, and creative force on how to afflict your neighbor.
For my part, I like to think there are more people in the world who like the concept of mutual aid and are merely making do with the current capitalistic-zero-sum game until something better crystalizes--in spite of the system shouting so loud about itself, good or ill, in an effort to make it difficult to hear alternatives. Which is why I believe "solidarity over charity" is such an approachable proposition, regardless of the generation to which you have been ascribed by whomever does the sorting. I mean, Peter Singer was talking about this in the 70's. You have an obligation as a member of society to take measures to preserve wellness and uplift the vulnerable--give until giving any more would cause you harm. You get to decide where that dividing line is based on your finances, energy levels, social support network, available time, mobility, etc. As long as you set that line earnestly, then you are fulfilling the obligation which entitles you to the benefits of other member's solidarity.
The thing is, we're cornered. Restricted in analyses of all the options we could use to compose more humane systems. Isolated from what we could become, by a constant stream of shock doctrines induced by manufactured-disasters. So, mutual aid remains considered a coping strategy, rather than a cultural driving force for fundamental change, for the time being. Though, there's the rub, in that if there is always a new disaster, there is always a perceived need of relief prioritized over sustainable growth, which means the mutual aid has to become a political driving force to get ahead of the source of constructed woes.
I say that while also being painfully aware that discussion of any ideology beyond the current paradigm is defined by capitalistic expectations. Alternatives are invariably framed as monstrous inevitabilities in the supposed disastrous event of dismantlement, at least until they're cut open and adapted to fulfill a material component requisite to quell dissenting voices. "We can have social programs, yes, but it's not socialism, socialism is bad. Capitalism is good, which is why you have these social programs. Ignore other countries that have been providing more of these benefits for much longer, and devote more relative resources." Every other ideology is either fodder to be exploited for some new way to market what we have, or is dismissed/reviled for significant lack of traits that we already have in the devil we know. Which is very convenient for finding more fodder. Why would we want any system we make from here on anything like capitalism? We have to keep in mind that we are not looking for a better release appeal to make before an intractable captor. We are looking for the strategy that will attract enough confidence from fellow captives. To disenchant the captivated of the all consuming capitalist notion that virtue is derived from the free market's advertised high proficiency value generation.
What value? It definitely lets select groups pool resources, making their coffers more "valuable" in a fiscal sense, but where is the Value in that for a society? If its only claim to fame is that it can move numbers around faster and wont judge you for neglecting people's needs, then what does it actually do for us collectively that another system can't? Capitalism's whole premise relies on you not having enough, on you believing that there is not enough out there, that the only way you can have enough is to get there before someone else gets it and you're left with The Zero-Sum. But why would we take that on blind faith? What if there is a way to play the Positive-Sum game and we're just sitting on that because we assume its a fantasy?
How tragic to realize that the whole time you were suffering an obscene Sallie Mae loan, there could have been a non-tuition option. How mortifying to learn the medical bills that were artificially inflated by the relationship between the hospital and your insurance could have been handled by the taxes you already pay. The rent that serves as your proof of earning the right to live, assuaged with universal basic income. The chronic anxiety, stress, and aggression born from a machine of impersonal jobs that can leverage social class and basic needs to claim a third of your life for the least possible compensation possible; replaced with all the possibilities of a well rested mind and body.
Why would we as a collective people ever opt-in to the gamified social hierarchy?
What are we even still doing here?

Raising Funds for Stability
hi all, checking in again to share our umpteenth fundraiser for stability! this is my first time posting about our situation here on Tumblr but now that i see it as the superior platform **for sake of i haven’t been here for a min and i haven’t been forced to see things i didn’t want to (yet), i am led to believe more of the right people will see it here. but to begin, my husband and i met again after 13 years. we’d met initally in Kindergarten/1st grade, and it’s only a bit fuzzy since we don’t have pictures to crossreference but we know it’s us from back then. the memorable event hails from playtime, we used to play house together and we had a thing back then, innocent enough. but we had a routine of kissing in the cubbies under our jackets, and one day we were caught. and from there unfortunately that is where the story ended up until a few years ago. he was moved to a different state and school and i stayed in our hometown, unfortunately and fortunately. since, if i had moved around and not been in the area, we’d have never met again through Okcupid lol. the site i loathed but at the time, i was searching and i was willing to look EVERYWHERE.
But alas, i lost my job due to racism in early 2020 and dropped out of college, like 5 months before we met and it’s been a shit show (financially)  ever since. I realized later rather than sooner, that i’ve been working since i was 16 just for it to boil down to “how comfortable i can be for white people” i have nothing to show for all the years of corporate slavery other than the ingrained aptitude to be corgial. albeit, a very useful skill especially in a buisness setting, i saw that the setting was not there for me. i firmly believe that customer service is important, i just do not believe in a “Job”, i only believe in Careers. My careeer of choice? ART! my husbands career of choice? ART! we are true artists and want to show the world the realness in that. no tikkytok dances/music or uncreative scripted content, just overall - there’s literally no good anything out. everything is a PSA for someones personal agenda, which has now become the MAIN agenda. we are here to break that. we are here to show the world better. that different can still be better without all the extra internet pandering nonsense. please join us in sharing so that the right eyes can see. we have been fighting 3 years for stability, please help us in getting on our feet in time for next year. we have many a plan and idea, we just need to oppurtunity and space to shine. thank you in advance for any and all help, and for reading this far! i appreciate the heck outta ya. until next time!
xx tari

Dinners for debt justice
“Darcy: Jubilee is a fundamental challenge to our economic system, which depends on domestic and international debt. While paying off payday loans, loans to offset fuel bills, etc, we are less able to meet everyday needs and our purchasing options are limited. International debt cancellation would prevent multinational companies perverting markets and forcing poor nations to sell resources to pay debt off at high interest rates.
“We run a free public meal at the end of every month. Its purpose is to incrementally build networks of solidarity – connecting activists, community groups and vulnerable people through open dialogue and simple but meaningful support.
“Ci: My guiding principles have been ‘think globally, act locally’. The Black Panthers used mutual aid as a direct-action strategy. Mutual aid allows us to build a larger base of local support, recognising people’s immediate concerns and the need to look after one another.”

Fuck their charity. Fuck "philanthropy"
The ultra rich wouldnt BE ultra rich if they werent impoverishing everyone else just to line their pockets
They DO brag about this and the "good PR" they get from it (ever heard of the Gates Foundation?) is used as a flaky shield against criticisms of their exploitation
I wish the ultra rich would take more pride in actual services to society. I wish they bragged about buying a new metro line for their city, or stocking up food banks. I wish Bill Gates and Elon Musk were beefing over who could repair the most potholes, or fund the most scholarships. I wish they considered their ability to help their society a privilege.

These are Omar(2) and Salah(5), Bilal's nephews. 8 months ago, they were enjoying the warmth of their home and being pampered by their parents and everyone in the family. The pictures below are from Omar's first birthday. Bilal told me how he was the one who prepared everything for the surprise party. He was, then, so excited to gather the whole family and give Omar a memorable first birthday and bring joy to everybody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, Omar and Salah are going through hardships no child should be experiencing. They are surrounded by rubble and unsanitary conditions wherever they go; not to mention the random bombings that threaten their lives every moment of every day. Omar took his first steps while being displaced in a tent in Rafah. Imagine your baby learning to walk in a refugee camp under the constant buzzing of drones! The children and the whole family had to endure the cold winter and being drenched by rain in their flimsy tent, and now they have to go through the unbearable heat in the same inhumane circumstances. As if all this suffering wasn't enough, the occupation is currently asking everyone in Rafah to evacuate again, even the hospitals!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The survival of Omar, Salah, and the whole family in now more than ever at stake. Bilal has been in Germany for a year or so now. The thought that he might never get to see his beloved nephews again haunts him every day. He humbly asks for your support to help him keep his loved ones safe until he has the chance to reunite with them, hopefully as soon as possible. Please donate any amount you can spare and reblog this post. Every contribution can make a difference and restore the family's hope!

At the Crossroads of Humanity: A Fa***y That Needs Your Voice, Hand, and Heart
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this world, where wars burn at its edges like an unquenchable fire, and where souls fade away amidst storms of pain, I write to you today not as a writer, but as a human being. A human being who has only words to awaken the shared conscience within us, the hope that we can still be better.
There is a family, just like any other, that once lived in peace. A modest home filled with children’s laughter and big dreams of parents striving for a brighter future. Mohamed, an engineer driven by resilience, and Enas, an English teacher who inspires hope in her children and students alike. They have four children: Layan (11 years old) with her keen intelligence, Sarah (9 years old) with a smile that melts hearts, Adam (4 years old) with his boundless energy, and Amir, a 6-month-old infant who knows nothing but his mother’s embrace. These children carry dreams in their eyes that have yet to be touched by war.
But war does not choose its victims. Today, this family has lost everything. Their home reduced to ashes, their security vanished, and their youngest sleeps cradled by fear.
We now stand at a crossroads. Can we look into the eyes of this family, and into the eyes of our own children one day, and say: “We tried”? Or will we choose silence and let humanity’s flame flicker out in this darkened world?
I know that among us here on this platform, Tumblr, there are writers, artists, creators, leaders, and hearts full of compassion. Imagine if each of us, with our pens, our voices, and our keyboards, chose to make a difference. Imagine if we shared this story, making it the talk of Tumblr and every corner of the internet.
Let’s think of this post as a beehive. Each of us is a bee carrying a drop of honey, a drop of hope, to create something bigger. Every share, every repost, every contribution is a step towards bringing this family to safety.
Let’s create a miracle.
Not because we need to prove something, but because this is the true face of humanity. Because we are stronger together. Because love and generosity are the most profound gifts we can offer, especially when the world needs them most.
If not today, then when? If not for them, then for whom?
We have an opportunity to show the world that the internet is not just a place for fleeting pictures and laughter but a force capable of changing lives. Let us show everyone that the Tumblr community can be a refuge for those who have none.
You, each of you reading these words now, are the true heroes of this story. Don’t let this post end here. Carry it on your wings, spread it as light that reaches every dark corner. Share it on Tumblr, weave it into stories on Instagram, tweet about it on Twitter, and make it a voice that cannot be silenced.
Let’s unite as one.
Let’s build a bridge for this family and create an unbreakable wave of hope.
> “In the end, none of us will be asked how many books we’ve read or songs we’ve written, but how many lives we’ve helped.”
“We may not change the entire world, but we can change the world for this family.”
Be the light that brightens their path. Share, create, and spread hope wherever you can.
