#tag game #i didn't include the actual first song #which is a plant by spotify #it literally puts it in every playlist #and then its like OH YOU LIKE THIS SONG #its an okay song but i wouldn't listen to it 'on repeat' as often if i didn't let playlists just play through while doing other things #but it's created a weird cycle where spotify plays it more #then thinks i like it more #so it plays it even more #its annoying and makes me not like it on principle #when it's an okay song that i don't mind normally #i think i just repeated myself #my brain doesn't work

I am also getting myself into to mood to test my hand at boarding a pmv for my friend's cover #I think my thought for this was ''I should try and give her a more insectoid bodyplan''#which in this mostly means gently three-part body and six limbs (my favourite amount of limbs to draw rn)#actually almost gave her eight but didnt like how that silhouette came out so I mermaided her uh. abdomen I guess #though maybe next time I do this I should push that idea more. the head and torso are still very distinct for one unified part #I feel like one of my old attempts was onto something with like. a more horizontal body plan... well! live and learn etc #happy late mid autumn I guess. I should play with touys about it... I miss model kits. mayhaps...

#my art #jujutsu kaisen #jjk #jjk fanart #jujutsu kaisen fanart #yuji itadori #itadori yuuji #jjk yuuji #been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers #and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this #i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury #and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that #u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one #but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal #i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide #one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks #anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair #and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before #probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more #ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

For the twins in time AU, I genuinely wonder what kind of people the young twins grow up into because of Stan’s/Ford’s influence. Especially if it takes years for the portal to get fixed.

(Sorry if it seems like I already sent this question, I don’t know if it got sent the first time I asked)

I haven’t fully fleshed out how Ford grows up in the past but I do have thoughts on Stan presently

#he’s still his goofy brash self as well #but I do think he gets an outlet for all that through monster hunting and trips and stuff #he does get comfortable here though…#I’m thinking we have something play out that’s similar to the science fair #where they get close to being able to send him home and he breaks something or maybe even purposely sabotages it…#and I think he sneaks out a lot too #maybe he uses the secret identities in that way like when he’s in town he’ll pretend to be Pinley pinington #and that’s how he develops his scammy/improv skills #FORD ON THE OTHER HAND #I think he might actually be MORE emotionally stunted because Stan tries so hard to protect him #that it goes the other way #they kind of become reliant on each other in a really unhealthy way or maybe Stan sort of steers ford away from his smart stuff #to prevent the future from happening #not maliciously but yk #like I said I haven’t fleshed his story out as fully yet so I will get back to you #but there are some interesting possibilities #my art #ask #gravity falls #twins in time au #Stan pines #Stanley pines

pisses me off to no end when people on reddit or whatever complain that the show wouldve been better off without the tuunbaq.....did we watch the same show? the tuunbaq is everything, it held everything together. the tuunbaq is the main transformative element of the terror. the tuunbaq elevates the text beyond mere historical fact and lets it say something about the expedition's broader context of imperialism. it hunted the british men who were trampling on its home as a mere stopover, a side casualty, to finding the northwest passage (for, you know, "trade with china" after britain beat china into submission after the imperialist opium war). silna couldnt complete a proper ritual with it because of the british men - just as british colonizers have historically intruded and disrupted the practice of indigenous culture. and in the end the tuunbaq dies, after all the injuries it's taken from the british over the course of 10 episodes and finally chokes to death on the worst of them. because there's no escaping the reality of colonial history, and there is especially no fantastical escape for the colonizer. there's no proper way for us to move forward otherwise.

good historical fiction doesnt have to limit itself to accuracy - it needs empathy to draw out meanings in history using literary craft. thats what the tuunbaq means to me.... if you wanted a straight depiction of historical record, just go watch a documentary.. TUUNBAQ DENIERS DNI

#hell i would argue that historical inaccuracy is just as crucial to accuracy in historical fiction #if not even more so #for a different reason that you need an anchor to remind viewers that this is fiction #and should not be taken as substitute for historical record #though dont get me wrong i think historical fiction complements scholarly text too #because histfic gets to explore aspects of the same history in different ways you cant in academia - more emotional and the like #but its also a problem if histfic presents itself as accurate and ppl start looking at it as historical record itself #kind of like the crown (hate the crown)#so the question of 'how do we play with historical facts to reinforce the themes of the story' is crucial in histfic i think #the terror #the terror amc
