A/n: so sorry for the wait here’s pt.2 for “ride or die” since some of y’all liked it and I’m very happy for that, did some justice this time and spiced it up they can be out of character sometime so forgive me, hope y’all will enjoy it really worked hard on this one, not proofread <3
For two days, she’d managed to avoid him—strategically timing her office hours to when he wasn’t there, ignoring his messages, and pretending not to notice the way he seemed to linger just out of reach. But deep down, she knew it was only a matter of time before he caught up with her.
That time came at the end of a long day when she thought she was safe. She gathered her things and prepared to turn around and head towards the door, only to feel a familiar presence.
“Thought you could avoid me forever?” His voice was low, smooth, and infuriatingly smug.
Her hand tightened on the strap of her bag as she turned, schooling her features into something calm and unaffected. “I’m busy. Move.”
He grinned, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Busy ignoring me? Impressive effort, but I don’t take silence well.”
“I’m not ignoring you,” she lied, stepping forward to brush past him.
His arm shot out, blocking her path. “Really? Then why haven’t you answered my messages? Or were you too busy pondering about how much fun we had in the alley?”
“I don’t owe you an explanation,” she shot back, her tone clipped as she tried to push past him again.
But this time, he shifted, moving to block her entirely and locking the door with a quick twist of his wrist. The faint click of the lock sent a chill down her spine, though she refused to show it.
“Let me go,” she said, keeping her voice steady even as she felt her pulse quicken.
He leaned back against the door, his arms crossed lazily, as though he had all the time in the world. “Not until we settle something.”
She arched a brow, masking her unease with irritation. “And what’s so important that you’re resorting to theatrics?”
His grin widened, his gaze sparkling with that insufferable confidence. “I’m a man of my word. And I promised to take you to dinner, didn’t I? Unless, of course, you’d rather recall how I made you feel so good in the alley.”
She blinked, caught off guard by the reminder. “That was two days ago. It doesn’t matter anymore.”
“It matters to me.” He stepped closer, the teasing edge in his voice making her heart stutter. “You won, fair and square. So, dinner. Tonight.”
“Not happening,” she said firmly, though the conviction in her voice wavered slightly.
He tilted his head, studying her with mock curiosity. “Why so stubborn? Afraid you’ll enjoy it?”
Her jaw tightened. “I’m just not interested.”
“You’re lying.”
She glared at him, determined not to let him see how her resolve faltered under the weight of his gaze. “You’re impossible.”
“And you’re avoiding the truth,” he countered, stepping closer until there was barely a breath of space between them. “But that’s fine. Say no if you want—I’ll still show up outside your door.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” she said, though the uncertainty in her voice made her doubt her own words.
“Try me,” he challenged, his tone light but his intent clear.
She sighed, her shoulders sagging slightly in defeat. “Fine. One dinner. But don’t make a habit of this.”
His grin broadened, a glimmer of triumph lighting up his face. “Perfect. Wear something elegant—something that’ll fit the place. I expect you’ll be just as stunning as you were in the alley”
“Excuse me?”
He ignored her indignation, leaning in close enough for his breath to ghost against her cheek. His lips brushed lightly against her skin, leaving behind the faintest trace of warmth. “See you tonight,” he murmured before stepping aside and unlocking the door.
She stared at him, momentarily thrown by the unexpected gesture. The smug look on his face only made her irritation flare, and she pushed past him with a sharp, “Don’t be late.”
As she walked away, she tried to ignore the fluttering in her stomach, brushing it off as nothing more than irritation. But the faint smile tugging at her lips told a different story.
-----
She stood before the full-length mirror, the soft glow of her bedroom light catching the gentle shimmer of her crimson dress. The bodice hugged her figure like it was made for her, the delicate cowl neckline draping gracefully across her collarbones, while the fabric flowed into a silky skirt that brushed the floor with every subtle movement. Her long, black hair fell in effortless curls to her waist, framing her face with a touch of timeless elegance. A sheer wrap rested loosely on her arms, adding a layer of ethereal softness that seemed to dance with every step.
Her phone buzzed on the dresser, pulling her from her thoughts. She glanced down to see his text: "I’ll be there in five." Letting out a small breath, she grabbed her purse, gave herself one last look, and headed downstairs.
The evening air was cool as she stepped outside, heels clicking softly against the pavement. There he was, leaning casually against a sleek black Audi A6, its polished exterior gleaming under the streetlights. He wore a tailored black suit that framed his tall, broad figure perfectly, paired with a crisp white shirt and a black tie that added a sharp elegance to his appearance. His dark hair was neatly styled, though a rebellious strand fell over his forehead, softening his otherwise sharp features.
As she approached, his gaze locked on her, a flicker of admiration crossing his face before he straightened and stepped toward her. Without a word, he took her hand, lifting it to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles.
“You look breathtaking,” he murmured, his voice smooth yet sincere, his eyes holding hers for just a moment longer than necessary.
A faint blush warmed her cheeks, but she managed a small, teasing smile. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
His lips twitched into a smirk as he opened the passenger door for her, gesturing for her to step inside.
She settled into the plush leather seat, the soft scent of new car and faint cologne filling the space. The interior was sleek, with polished silver accents and an impressive digital dashboard glowing faintly in the dim light. She trailed her fingers over the armrest, the comfort and luxury surprising her.
“You own this?” she asked, glancing at him as he slipped into the driver’s seat, his hands confidently gripping the wheel.
He chuckled softly. “Why? Did you think I’d show up in something less fitting?”
She shook her head, amused but still impressed, as they drove in silence toward their destination. He would make teasing comments here and there that earned a chuckle from her.
The car pulled up to one of the most elegant restaurants in town, its grand facade glowing with soft golden lights. Outside, a long line of patrons waited eagerly, some dressed to the nines, chatting in anticipation.
Her brows lifted in surprise at the sight. “You didn’t mention this place,” she said, her voice laced with curiosity.
Before he could respond, two security guards stepped forward, opening her door with practiced precision. One took the keys from him while the other escorted them toward the entrance. She noticed how the murmuring crowd shifted, heads turning as they walked past.
The guards held the doors open as they entered, bowing slightly in his direction. She bowed back out of respect, but he merely did, wrapping his arm around her waist as they stepped into the opulent dining area.
The restaurant was stunning. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow over tables draped in crisp white linens. Floor-to-ceiling windows revealed a breathtaking view of the city skyline, and a soft melody from a grand piano filled the air with an elegant ambiance.
They were guided to a private table near the window, the staff pulling out her chair as she sat. As he took his seat across from her, she leaned in slightly, her tone playful.
“Care to explain why everyone is treating you like you’re some mafia boss?”
He chuckled, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at her. “Let’s just say I know how to make an impression.”
She rolled her eyes, but a smirk tugged at her lips. “Oh, I’m sure you do.”
The waitress approached with a professional yet warm smile, handing them menus. “Welcome. May I offer you something to start with?”
She glanced at the menu, the luxurious options catching her off guard. “Are there any prices on this thing, or do we just guess?” she quipped, arching an eyebrow at him.
He laughed softly. “Don’t worry, dinner’s on me. Feel free to splurge.”
She smirked, leaning back in her chair. “Good, because I was planning to order the most expensive thing just to annoy you.”
“Be my guest,” he replied smoothly, his grin teasing. “But I hope you know that means dessert is non-negotiable.”
her eyes scanning the intricate names of dishes written in french. Brows furrowed, she tilted the menu closer as if the words would magically make sense the second time around.
“What is... uh, rat-a-tou-ille??” she sounded out slowly, glancing up at him with genuine curiosity.
His lips curved into an amused smile. “Ratatouille. It’s a vegetable dish—stewed with tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, and herbs. Simple but classic..”
“Oh, okay. That doesn’t sound too bad,” she nodded before her eyes caught another word. “And this one? Coq... au vin??”
“Coq au vin” he corrected with a small laugh. “Chicken braised in red wine with mushrooms and bacon. Very traditional.”.”
She tapped her chin with her finger, pretending to consider it seriously, then moved on to another dish. “Bou-ya... bouillabaisse?”
“Bouillabaisse,” he supplied smoothly. “.It’s a fish stew with a mix of seafood, Want me to keep translating, or are you planning to make me read the whole menu for you?”
She shot him a playful glare. “Hey, these names are intimidating, okay? I didn’t grow up speaking fluent…. Uh, whatever this is."
“french” he said, unable to suppress the laugh that bubbled out. “I have to admit, though, this clueless act of yours is kind of adorable.”
She rolled her eyes, heat rising to her cheeks. “Whatever. I’ll just stick to this one.” She pointed to a dish she didn’t recognize but liked the sound of.
When he glanced at his menu filled with prices unlike hers, his smirk grew wider. “Interesting choice,” he mused, leaning back in his chair.
“What?” she asked suspiciously.
“Nothing,” he said, clearly holding back a laugh. “Just that it’s the cheapest thing on the menu.”
Her jaw dropped. “Are you serious?”
He nodded, still grinning. “Repick. Or I’ll do it for you.”
She groaned, flipping through the menu again. “Fine. You pick.”
He didn’t even look at her menu, already knowing it by heart. “Filet de boeuf Rossini,” he said confidently.
Her eyes widened slightly. “That sounds... fancy.”
“It’s perfect,” he replied with a wink. “Trust me.”
The waitress returned, taking his order for a sole meunière and hers for the beef Rossini. “And a bottle of Château d’Yquem,” he added casually.
When the waitress nodded and walked away, she raised an eyebrow. “Château d’Yquem? What’s that?”
“You’ll see,” he replied cryptically.
Moments later, the waitress returned with a sleek silver ice bucket, placing it on the table with a bottle of golden wine nestled inside. The light caught the liquid, making it shimmer, and her eyes widened as realization hit.
“This is wine?” she asked, pointing to the bottle.
“Not just any wine,” he said, pouring a glass with practiced ease. “It’s... exclusive.”
“How exclusive?” she pressed.
He took a slow sip, his lips curving into a knowing smile. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Her eyes widened. “You’re drinking liquid gold?”
He laughed at her incredulous expression, his voice rich with amusement. “Relax. Tonight’s on me, remember?”
She rolled her eyes, leaning back in her chair. “You’re infuriating, you know that?”
“Part of my charm,” he replied with a wink, setting his glass down.
Silence evoked as the air in the restaurant shimmered with quiet luxury, a symphony of muted chatter, piano tunes and crystal clinks filling the room. She leaned back against the chair, her delicate fingers tracing absent patterns on the edge of the table. Her gaze flickered toward the expansive window, the city lights sprawling like a living canvas. There was an effortless grace to her, the way her crimson dress caught the glow of the chandeliers, the silk shifting like liquid fire with her every move.
He couldn’t look away.
His pupils sharpened with intensity as he studied her, the soft curve of her jawline, the way her lips parted slightly as she sighed in quiet awe. Her black hair, cascading in soft curls to her waist, gleamed under the golden light. She was a vision, suspended somewhere between elegance and rebellion, her beauty a contradiction he couldn’t quite define but didn’t want to stop trying to.
She tilted her head, her profile catching the faint light of the chandelier, and his breath hitched. As he took a sip of his whiskey, the taste burned less than the thought that this moment—her, here, now—felt like something he shouldn’t deserve.
He smirked at himself, shaking his head slightly. Get a grip.
But then she glanced back at him, catching his stare, her brow arching in question. “What?” she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
“Nothing,” he replied, his smirk deepening as he set his glass down. “Just taking it all in.”
She rolled her eyes but couldn’t fight the slight tug of a smile at the corner of her lips.
Moments later their food arrived, the rich aroma wafting from her plate made her mouth water. She picked up her fork, taking a cautious bite. The moment the tender beef hit her taste buds, her eyes fluttered shut, and a soft hum of delight escaped her lips.
“This is... amazing,” she said, already diving in for another bite.
He watched her, captivated by the way she was completely absorbed in her food. Every little sound she made—those happy, involuntary noises—pulled his attention. For a moment, the bustling restaurant around them disappeared, leaving only her.
“You’re staring, again.” she said suddenly, snapping him out of his daze.
“You make it hard not to,” he admitted with a small smile.
She flushed, quickly taking another bite. “Just eat your food, so we can get done” she muttered.
He chuckled, cutting into his fish. They settled into a comfortable rhythm, exchanging light banter between bites. At one point, she attempted to spear a piece of his fish with her fork, but he caught her wrist with a grin.
“Ah, ah. That’s mine,” he teased.
“Sharing is caring,” she retorted, but he held firm, playfully shaking his head.
He shook his head with exaggerated defiance, a sly grin tugging at his lips. “You want it that bad? Beg for it.”
She narrowed her eyes, “‘Never mind,’” she said, her voice thick with sarcasm as she went back to eat.
He chuckled, leaning closer. “Come on, don’t act like you didn’t do it.”
“That’s it, I’m leaving,” she said, standing up abruptly and grabbing her bag.
He burst into laughter, his gaze never leaving her. “I’m messing with you,” he said, grabbing her wrist gently and pulling her back into the chair.
She shot him a glare, crossing her arms. “You’re impossible.”
“But you love it,” he replied, giving her an amused smirk.
She sighed, reaching for her glass of water. As her gaze drifted across the room, it landed on a couple at a nearby table—so engrossed in each other they might as well have been the only two people in the restaurant. The man’s hand rested on the small of the woman’s back, and their faces were inches apart, whispering between soft kisses.
Her nose wrinkled. “Ugh. Get a room,” she muttered, her voice dripping with disdain.
He followed her line of sight, his brow arching before a low chuckle escaped his lips. “Jealous?”
She snapped her head back to him, her eyes narrowing. “Jealous? Please. That’s gross. There’s a time and place for that sort of thing, and it’s not next to someone trying to enjoy a meal.”
His grin widened as he leaned back, clearly enjoying her reaction. “You’re awfully opinionated for someone who didn’t seem to mind when I kissed you.”
Her cheeks flushed instantly. “That was different!”
“Oh, was it?” he teased, his tone playfully smug. “Because if I recall, you were the one leaning in first.”
Her jaw dropped. “I was not! You were the one who couldn’t keep it together and kissed me like some—”
“Like what?” he interrupted, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Someone who’s not afraid to take a chance?”
She glared at him, struggling to find a comeback that wouldn’t dig her deeper into the hole. “You’re crazy,” she finally huffed, crossing her arms again.
“not as much as you,” he replied, his smirk softening just enough to make her annoyed
The unspoken tension hung like a storm cloud between them, unshakably present as they lingered in that charged moment. “Are you actually saying you wish you were that couple?” he asked, leaning in with a seriousness that made her heart constrict.
Her heart raced at his words, a flutter of uncertainty and curiosity mixing with annoyance. “I just think PDA is a bit much!” she shot back, a hint of defensiveness creeping into her voice. “I mean, can’t people keep it to themselves?”
“Really?” he challenged, his voice low, brushing against her ear as he leaned closer. “Or maybe you’re just afraid of what it could feel like to let loose, to feel something real for once?”
Her breath caught in her throat as a rush of heat spread across her cheeks. “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” she shot back, a desperate edge in her voice. She could feel the tension weave between them like a live wire, crackling with possibility.
“Maybe I do,” he replied, that daring glint in his eye making her pulse quicken. “Maybe you just need the right moment to let go.”
The couple at the table nearby erupted in laughter again, and she found herself glancing back at them, trying to refocus. But when she looked up, he was watching her with an intensity that made her skin tingle. “Forget them,” he said, his voice dropping an octave, pulling her even further into his orbit. “What do you want? Something real? Or more of this… competition?”
Before she could formulate a response, he suddenly stood, extending a hand toward her. “Come with me.”
“Where?” she asked, hesitating but feeling a rush of adrenaline at the thought of doing something entirely unexpected.
“A place where we can talk,” he replied, a challenge sparking in his eyes. “Unless you’re too scared to follow.”
With her heart racing and her mind swirling with uncertainty, she placed her hand in his. He led her through the restaurant’s bustling dining area, weaving through startled diners and busy waitstaff. But there was no turning back. The thrill of being drawn into the unknown ignited something within her.
They approached a door at the back of the restaurant, and she felt both exhilarated and apprehensive. He flung it open, and they stepped into a dimly lit hallway lined with fancy doors that seemed to whisper secrets.
“Seriously, where are we?” she asked, blinking in the low light as confusion mixed with an adrenaline high.
“Somewhere more private,” he replied, his voice low and dangerous, eyes flickering with mischief and something deeper. “We won’t be interrupted here.”
Her pulse raced, excitement and fear coiling in her stomach. “Is this your idea of romance?” she shot back, the challenge lacing her voice, even as heat coursed through her.
“Maybe it’s just my idea of taking risks,” he countered, stepping closer, the space between them charged in a way that made her skin tingle. “You might even enjoy it.”
The energy shifted as they stood beneath the dim glow of the overhead light, their breaths mingling in the tight space. She caught herself wanting to feel the weight of his words, the electricity in the air. “What if someone catches?” she asked, half playful and half serious, but the way he was looking at her made her thrill with curiosity.
“Let them,” he said, eyes smouldering, stepping closer until there was barely any space left between them. “Are you really going to back down now?”
She felt a rush of defiance surge within her, mixed with undeniable attraction. “I’m not afraid,” she said boldly, but her voice wavered slightly, betraying the thrill and lust she was trying to suppress.
“Then let’s find out how dangerous this might get,” he murmured, his breath hot against her ear, igniting the adrenaline coursing through her veins.
With that, he turned on his heel, pulling her deeper into the hall, and she felt her heart pounding with excitement and uncertainty. Each step into the unknown only drew them closer together, and she couldn't shake the thrill of what lay ahead—the thrilling uncertainty,
He paused in front of an ornate door that looked far more expensive than the rest, its golden handle glinting in the dim light. With a knowing smirk, he pushed it open, and she was met with an intoxicating scent—rich cologne mingling with something deeper, something intimate that tugged at her senses.
As they stepped inside, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The room was lavishly decorated, a blend of modern luxury and classic elegance. An oversized leather couch sat in the center along with a table, surrounded by walls adorned with vibrant artwork that seemed to pull her in. Warm lights cast a cozy glow, and a plush rug covered the floor, offering a sense of comfort veiled in sultriness.
“wow,” she breathed, taking in the opulence, momentarily forgetting the tension simmering between them.
“Sit,” he commanded softly, gesturing toward the couch. She hesitated for only a moment before obeying, settling into the soft fabric while he moved around the room, his gaze scanning various items scattered about—a vintage record player, a collection of intriguing books, and an array of exotic liquor bottles.
Stopping at a sleek display cabinet, he opened the door and pulled out a pistol, its silver surface gleaming in the warm light. A grin played across his lips as he turned to face her, an unsettling excitement dancing in his eyes.
“We’re going to play a game,” he said, his voice low and teasing. “Russian roulette.”
Her breath caught in her throat. “Are you serious?”
“Relax.” He waved his hand dismissively, the light glinting off the barrel. “Only this time, we’re playing with a twist. There’s only one bullet, and each time the gun goes off, we have to strip a piece of clothing.”
A mix of thrill and apprehension surged through her. “That’s insane.”
“Maybe,” he replied, his smirk deepening, “but wouldn’t it be fun?”
With a defiant spark in her eyes, she leaned forward. “Fine, let’s play.”
He sat across from her, the couch sinking slightly under his weight, and loaded the bullet into the chamber with a casualness that both intrigued and unnerved her. He spun the cylinder and brought the gun to his temple, pulling the trigger—click. He laughed, a dark sound that echoed in the room,
“Not so scary, right?” he teased, loosening his suit jacket. With a fluid motion, revealing a fitted dress shirt that clung to his frame, accentuating the muscular definition of his arms and shoulders. The sight made her pulse quicken
“Your turn.” He passed the gun to her.
She arched an eyebrow but took the gun, feeling its weight in her hand. She couldn’t believe they were doing this. She spun the cylinder herself, heart racing, and then pressed it to her temple. Click. A rush of relief washed over her.
“Now it’s time to shed that scarf,” he said with a teasing tone. With a quick, decisive movement, she untied the delicate fabric and let it fall to the floor, feeling freer, more emboldened.
“Here you go,” she responded, tossing the gun back to him. The tension was tangible as he caught it effortlessly.
filled with a languid confidence. “Ready?” He pressed the barrel once more to his temple—click. The sound rang through the air like a taunt, a challenge freighted with electricity.
“Lucky again,” he grinned, a spark of mischief in his eyes.
“What’s next? Your shirt?” she quipped, eager to see how far this would go.
His gaze flicked to her, a knowing smile playing on his lips as he loosens the tie taking it off, before he began to unbutton his crisp white dress shirt. With each button undone, the cloth pulled away to reveal the chiselled muscles of his torso, the defined lines and curves making her breathless. He threw the shirt aside, letting it flutter to the ground like a fallen banner of surrender.
She couldn’t help but take in the sight, her breath momentarily caught in her throat. she breathed, both impressed and challenged by the game they were playing.
“Like what you see? Now it’s your turn,” he teased, giving her the gun once more, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
She took the gun, spun the cylinder yet again, and pressed it against her temple—click. Relief flooded her, but the tension was palpable.
“Let’s play it safe,” she decided, slipping off her heels and leaving her feet bare on the plush rug beneath her. The contact with the soft Fibers felt grounding after the intensity of the game.
“Back to me,” he said, taking the gun from her hands once more. He spun the cylinder, glancing at her with that effortless chill. “Here we go.”
With a languid movement, he pressed the cold metal against his own temple, a shrug of confidence reflecting in his posture. He squeezed the trigger—click. The sound reverberated, leaving an unsettling silence in its wake.
She felt a small knot of apprehension twist in her stomach. Could they keep going like this? The stakes were rising, and she felt the rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins.
He turned to her, offering her the gun again. “Your turn. Only two triggers are left, make sure not to die.”
With a mixture of determination and nerve, she accepted the gun from him. Her heart raced as she spun the cylinder for what felt like the hundredth time.
He stood to remove his shoes, casually tossing them to the side. That simple act ignited something within her, a thrilling edge of power and vulnerability. Just as he prepared to sit down, she lunged forward with a sudden burst of resolve.
With a swift motion, she pinned him against the couch, the gun now aimed firmly at his chest.
"What’s the matter?" he teased, the laughter in his eyes shifting to something darker. “Afraid you will die?”
“Not a chance,” she challenged, taking a seat on his lap, her pulse racing. In a moment of reckless defiance, she kept the gun pointed at him. “You think this is a game?”
He laughed, a wild, psychotic sound that echoed against the walls. his hands resting firmly on her waist, the gun now pressed against his chest as he leaned in closer. “I love it when you take charge.”
“You’re going to regret underestimating me,” she said, catching a glimpse of the wild delight dancing in his eyes.
“so it’s Game over for me?” he taunted, his words dripping with boldness. His hands slowly wandered to her thighs, fingers teasing, sending pulses of electricity coursing through her. “Shame, really. I’d hate to die without pleasuring you.”
Her breath hitched at his insinuation, his cocky demeanour igniting an uncontrollable fire within her. The tension crackled like static in the air, urging her to respond.
“You wish.” she said, her voice wavering slightly with the rush of emotions surging through her.
With a fury of need and desire, she leaned in and captured his lips in a fervent kiss, their mouths colliding in an explosion of pent-up frustration and attraction. The world around them melted away as her heart raced. The moment was electric, and in the whirlwind of passion, she pulled the trigger.
But all that followed was a click.
The sound ricocheted in the silence between them, and her eyes widened in shock as she pulled away. The thrill morphed into a dizzying rush as realization struck—there had been no bullet, no fatal ending, only the raw, intoxicating energy swirling in the air between them.
That's when he took the gun from her hands, his movements quick and decisive, a spark of defiance in his eyes. With a swift motion, he tossed it across the room, the gun landing with a loud thud against the wall.
“If you wanted my tongue against you, then you’ve fucking earned it,” he spat, crashing their lips together in a fierce, hungry kiss.
Her hands tangled in his hair, tugging tightly, igniting a low groan that reverberated into her mouth.
"You wanted to fucking kill me, sweetheart," he growled, biting her bottom lip, eliciting a sharp whimper from her.
“It was your game,” she countered, the adrenaline pulsing through her like fire.
“And yet,” he replied, his voice dark and sultry, “I’d never kill you.”
“I wouldn’t either.” She pulled back, a smirk curving her lips as her eyes roamed over his swollen lips and messy hair, an enticing sight.
“So, why did you aim that gun at me? Say it.”
“Because I was too damn scared, you’d do it instead of me,” she admitted, feeling his grip on her loosen slightly.
“Fuck, sweetheart, you really know how to make a scene,” he murmured, his fingers deftly unbuckling his belt with confidence.
“Kneel,” he demanded, helping her rise before guiding her down so she knelt on the floor, her dress cascading around her like a waterfall.
“You want to act like a little slut? Then suck until your mouth isn’t filthy,” he spat, and she flashed him a smirk as she slid his pants down, revealing his hard on.
Her hand wrapped around the base of him, moving up and down slowly, the rhythm sending soft growls of pleasure from his lips. As she continued pumping back and forth, in a rhythmic pattern the more he strived for her lips.
“Did you not hear me? I said suck,” he snapped, frustration threading through his tone.
She tilted her head, feigning innocence. “You call me a slut yet can’t wait a moment longer?” With a teasing glimmer in her eyes, she leaned forward, taking his tip into her mouth, swirling her tongue around it while maintaining a steady rhythm with her hand. His breath hitched, a bead of sweat forming on his chest as he succumbed to the jolting pleasure.
Without warning he bunched her hair up in his fist and pushed his tip to the back of her throat, thrusting himself deeper into her mouth until she gagged. The sight of her watering eyes only seemed to rile him up.
“Look how fucking beautiful you are, my darling. Take all of me, just like the good whore you are," he breathed, pleasure dripping from his words.
Her eyes glistened with tears. and he watched her head bob back and forth.
"fuck I'm going to—" he gasped, releasing her head and pulling back slightly. But before he could finish himself off, she caught his hand, her determination surging, and continued, letting the warm liquid hit the back of her throat while he moaned, curses spilling from his lips until he finished.
He fixed his gaze on her as she swallowed every drop, wiping her bottom lip clean with a satisfied smile. “You’re not finishing with me down here,” she challenged, cheeky confidence returning.
“Insanity suits you,” he replied, standing and holding out a hand to help her rise. “Now let’s see just how wet you are for me.”
He led her to the table, and a surge of vulnerability washed over her as he slammed her against it giving him full access to her clit, while her stomach pressed against the polished wood. His hands roamed the insides of her thighs, and she softly moans as he moved her lace underwear to the side, his fingers brushing against her trembling skin
Grabbing a fistful of her hair, he pulled her head back, connecting their lips once more, sucking on her bottom lip. After He released her hair, his hand quickly found her clit, eliciting a moan that was both pleasure and pain.
“Make a scene, sweetheart. Let everyone hear how much you enjoy this," he seethed, delivering a sharp smack that made her gasp, her stomach hitting the table harder.
As he moved her dress out of the way, he slowly removed her thong. Her grip tightened on the table's edges, anticipation thrumming in her veins. But just as she exhaled, he pressed a blade to her neck, drawing a gasp from her lips as he grabbed another fistful of hair to pull her back.
“I’m going to fuck you until you beg to finish, sweetheart,” he said, his voice a low growl. “But this is on my terms. Move too much, and your blood will splatter.” She nodded slowly, and without warning he pushed himself inside of her.
She gasped, feeling every inch of him stretching her, she felt his eyes darken with lust as he fucked her against the table. Each powerful thrust accompanied by the sound of the table squeaking beneath her, the blade scratched at her skin making her hiss at the foreign pain of the knife grazing her neck.
“you like that? hmm” he asked, delight etched in his expression.
“I do. It hurts," she admitted, breathless.
“Tell me to stop,”
But the words caught in her throat, her senses overwhelmed as the blade pressed deeper, and she couldn't help but roll her eyes back in pleasure.
“ But that's the thing, you like that huh? You don't have to hide what you truly want. I know you like this blade at your neck. Watch how good you take my dick slut" he groaned into her ear picking up the pace and she could already feel herself coming close to finishing.
A few more cuts on her neck and he flipped her over, her back colliding with the table, the sharp contrast of sensations sending goosebumps over her skin.
He poured his focus on the cuts, pressing kisses over the crimson marks as the metallic taste lingered in the air. The euphoric mix of pain and pleasure sent her into a frenzy, her nails digging into his bare back as he slipped himself back inside of her her.
“You won’t be the only one leaving this room marked,” she moaned in between their kisses. Both of them cursing and filling the room with the sound of their pleasure.
Their bodies moved in sync, letting the euphoria continue and their pace become sloppy. a dangerous dance of desire and desperation, the air thick with their shared moans and whispered curses.
“I’m gonna—"
“Not yet,” he interrupted, the tension in his voice low and commanding.
“I can't—” she yelped when he stopped, a sharp smack to her ass, only hard enough to sting.
“You can, and you will,” he grunted, slamming into her again, her hips bucking against him as he threw her leg onto his shoulder, pushing deeper. His penetrating gaze bore into her, making sure she didn’t disobey.
“Beg if you wanna finish.”
“Please,” she pleaded, breathless urgency coloring her voice.
“You're mine. Never forget that. Got it?" he growled. She hummed in agreement.
“Use your words,”
“Yes, yes, I’m yours, please—”
“I know, sweetheart. I know. Cum for me. Be a good girl,” he murmured, and she quickly became undone. After a couple more strokes he finished after, his head rolling back in delight.
Her legs quivering and the short circuit of her brain stopping for just a moment. It was almost as if her body was made to be with him alone, each pulse and surge a beautiful convergence of pleasure and pain.
He tucked himself back before effortlessly lifting her off the table. Her feet barely touched the floor before her legs wobbled beneath her, struggling to support her weight.
"I can’t walk," she muttered, clutching the edge of the table for support, the remnants of their passion still buzzing in her veins.
"What was that?" he asked, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
"You heard me. Shut up and help me stand up," she sneered, irritation mingling with the lingering satisfaction in her tone.
He rolled his eyes, but his expression softened as he stepped closer, wrapping an arm around her waist to keep her upright. "Alright, sweetheart. I’ve got you," he murmured, his voice low and steady. With gentle firmness, he helped her regain her footing, guiding her away from the table as she leaned into him.
They took a few tentative steps, and he chuckled again, the sound warm against her ear. "You really know how to make things interesting."
“Oh, shut up,” she replied, though a smile betrayed her annoyance. “You’re lucky I’m even standing,” she added with a playful roll of her eyes.
“Lucky? I was thinking of round two,” he shot back with a grin, winking at her as they made their way towards the couch. Unaware of long night they’re about to witness.

Eighty six, baby.
Older!Eddie Munson x fem reader concept.
Sleeping over at your hot older neighbor’s house when your heat doesn’t work? You might end up in bed together.
CW: Male oral, unprotected sex, age gap, (reader is my age, Eddie is in his forties)
“Sugar, I have tattoos older than you. I’m an old man and you’d get bored of me.” Eddie groaned as you unbuckled his pants. His boxers tightened as you straddled him. Staying with your neighbor because your heat was off wasn’t planned.
But now you came into his bedroom, asking if you could stay warm. Eddie said yes, his toned shirtless body exposed underneath the moonlight. You wore an oversized Iron Maiden shirt with lace underwear.
You pulled out his dick, precum leaking and you let drool fall. You smeared the tip with your thumb as you gently rolled your hips. “Mmm, Eddie. I need it in my mouth. Need to suck it.”
His brown eyes darkened as you lowered yourself down, running your tongue along his cock and fondling his balls. His hand seized your hair.
“Fuck, baby doll. You needed a man’s dick didn’t you?” He breathed heavier as you took him down your throat, bobbing your head and pumping what you couldn’t fit. He saw you grind on the bed and he lightly tugged your hair.
“Ride my leg. Need to feel that wet pussy on my leg, Angel.” He helped you situate yourself on his thigh and you humped it. Eddie huffed as you gagged, pulling off to give his balls attention.
He started to throat fuck you, his eyes rolling back and he hadn’t cum from a blow job since he was in his late twenties. But Eddie needed to feel you so he pulled you off. He flipped you on your back, admiring the way you bit your lip in anticipation. Eddie ran his large hands down your body, his rings cold against your bare skin as he toyed with the strings of your panties.
“Princess, I don’t just bust my load in a tight hole and called it a night. You think you can handle that?” He quirked a brow when you chuckled.
“I can handle anything, Eddie. Especially from an old dork.” Eddie smirked and tugged your panties off your legs. Tossing them off the bed.
“Awww, I love your confidence, sweet girl. But I’m looking forward to hearing how good you sound being fucked.” With that, he hauled your thighs apart and pressed himself against you. Slapping his cock against your clit a few times, Eddie enjoyed the moans you let out and he sank balls deep. Your soaked pussy taking him easily.
You gripped his long brown hair and wrapped your legs around him tightly. Eddie buried his face in your neck, leaving open mouth kisses on your warm skin. You felt a tongue ring as he fused his lips to yours. The kiss was messy, passionate as he cupped your ass and moved your legs over his shoulders. You let your mouth part as Eddie thrusted harder, the bed creaking as he planted a hand firmly on the headboard.
“That’s my girl, fucked out like a slut already. Such a pretty little thing,” He praised and his dick throbbed inside you as you cried out louder.
The squeezing of your legs around him made Eddie nearly lose his mind as you tugged his hand near and sucked his fingers. He grunted and let an animalistic desperation take over him. Eddie turned you on your chest, pulling your ass up and smacked it hard. He slammed back into you, skin slapping as you almost screamed in pleasure and squeezed the pillow. Eddie felt his release approaching sooner than expected, your pussy squeezing him tight and he pulled you up by your hair. Shoving his tongue in your mouth with a bruising kiss.
“Bounce on it like a good little slut, sweetheart. You want me to cum in you? You wanna feel it drip out of you?” He whispered against your neck and you nodded rapidly.
Your eyes falling on the poster walls and Eddie hammered his hips. Your cunt pulsed and you creamed on his dick. You saw stars as Eddie fucked you through it, his hands squeezing your tits.
“Sound so fuckin pretty when you cum. That’s it. I’m gonna fill you up nice and full,” He promised and you felt his rope of cum coat your insides. He gave your clit some attention, circling it and brought your two fingers up. Eddie tasted it.
“You taste so good, Princess. But I need to have it from the source. You gonna let me eat that pretty little pussy?” He questioned and you moaned a yes.

paige x azzi
warning: sexual content
word count: 6.9k
A/N: This chapter took me a little longer than usual for some reason😭. I’m finally giving y’all what you want so be thankful 🤨. As always let me know what you think and let me know if there’s anything you wanna see before I close out the series!!
—————————————————————————
February 2023
Paige adjusted her tie in the rearview mirror before stepping out of the car, the faint crunch of gravel under her shoes grounding her as she straightened her shirt. She takes a deep breath and walks around to the passenger side calmly, her nerves bubbling just beneath the surface.
Azzi smiles at her as Paige opens the door, her soft brown eyes lighting up in a way that always made Paige feel a little steadier.
“You’re always so sweet,” Azzi teased, taking Paige’s outstretched hand and stepping out of the car.
Paige smirked, brushing off her nerves as best she could. “Only the best for you,” she replied, her voice low and confident, though her heart wasn’t quite as composed.
The restaurant was more formal than Paige had expected, the kind of place where the lighting was dim and the waitstaff wore crisp uniforms. She suddenly felt grateful that Nika insisted on the tie. As they stepped inside, Paige adjusted it again, sneaking a glance at Azzi, who looked effortlessly stunning in her dress.
They spotted Azzi’s family seated at a table near the back. Tim, Azzi’s dad, was the first to notice them, his face breaking into a grin that he quickly masked with a mock-serious expression.
“Well, well,” he said, standing as Paige approached. “Paige, I trust you’re taking good care of my daughter?”
“Yes, sir,” Paige replied, straightening up slightly. “You know me, only the best.”
Tim kept up the act for a beat longer, then his face broke into a laugh. He pulled Paige into a warm hug, clapping her on the back. “Good to see you again, kid,” he said warmly.
“You too, sir,” Paige said, her voice more relaxed now.
Katie, Azzi’s mom, was next, pulling Paige into a hug as well. “Always a pleasure, Paige,” she said, her tone just as warm as her husband’s. “You look great tonight.”
“Thanks, Mrs. Fudd,” Paige replied, her cheeks warming slightly under the compliment.
Next came Jon and Jose, Azzi’s younger brothers, who greeted Paige with grins and easy camaraderie.
“Sup, superstar?” Jon teased as he clasped Paige’s hand before pulling her into a quick hug.
“Not much,” Paige replied with a chuckle. “What’s up with you big man?”
“Trying to keep up,” Jose chimed in, grinning.
After greeting everyone Paige felt a small sense of relief as she settled into the rhythm of their banter. Azzi tugged lightly at her sleeve, pulling her toward the table. Paige, Azzi, and Jose sat on one side, while Katie, Tim, and Jon took the other.
Once they were seated, Paige took a moment to glance around the table. She’d met Azzi’s family many times before—holidays, over the summer and casual dinners when things were still murky between her and Azzi. But tonight was different. Now everyone knew they were officially together, and for some reason, that made her chest feel a little tight.
Azzi must have noticed because she leaned over and whispered, “Relax, it’s no different than anytime before.”
Paige shot her a look, both grateful and exasperated, as she adjusted her napkin over her lap.
As the server approached with menus, Tim glanced across the table, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “You look nice Paige, someone must’ve helped you.” He teased, earning a soft laugh from Katie.
Paige laughed lightly, grateful for the lighthearted comment, even as she felt Azzi’s hand rest subtly against her knee under the table.
“You all look great, too,” Paige replied, her voice steadying as she glanced at the family, her gaze lingering just a little longer on Azzi.
…
The table had settled into a comfortable rhythm, everyone chatting easily. Unsurprisingly, the topic was basketball, which seemed to be the universal language in the Fudd family—and one Paige was fluent in.
“So, Paige,” Tim said, leaning forward slightly, “how are things shaping up for next season? You’re officially back, right?”
Paige nodded, her lips curving into a small smile. “Yeah, I’ll be good to go. It’s been a long recovery, but I’m ready. I’ve missed playing too much to sit out any longer.”
“You’ve been working hard,” Azzi chimed in, her voice soft but full of pride. “She’s already looking scary in practice.”
“Scary?” Jose teased, smirking. “You sure about that, Azzi? Or are you just hyping her up because she’s your girlfriend now?”
Paige smirked, leaning back slightly in her chair. “I don’t need hype. You already know what it’s like tryna guard me.”
The table laughed, and Jon shook his head. “Okay, okay, but for real,” he said, “what’s the vibe at UConn next year? Anything changing?”
Paige shrugged lightly, glancing at Azzi before replying. “Honestly, it’s not about changing—it’s about piecing things together. We’ve got the pieces; we just need to keep pushing.” Her tone softened slightly as she added, “If anyone’s taking us to the next level, it’s Azzi. Ms. National Player of the Year over here.”
Azzi’s cheeks flushed a little, and she nudged Paige’s leg under the table. “Stop it,” she said, though her voice carried a hint of a smile.
“She’s right,” Katie said, her voice warm with approval. “You’ve been phenomenal this season, Azzi.”
“She has,” Tim agreed, nodding firmly. “No argument there.”
Azzi ducked her head slightly, her smile growing wider despite herself. Paige grinned, savoring the moment. She loved seeing Azzi like this—happy and surrounded by people who appreciated her.
They’d ordered their food some time ago, so the conversation flowed easily as they waited. Paige found herself relaxing more with each passing minute. The light teasing between Jon and Jose, Tim’s occasional dad jokes, and Katie’s warm encouragement all created an atmosphere that always felt easy and welcoming for her.
At one point, Jose turned to Paige with a mischievous grin. “So, Paige,” he said, leaning in conspiratorially, “are you ready to deal with Azzi as a full-blown superstar? I can’t imagine what it’ll be like with two big ego’s in the house now, yours is already bad enough..”
Paige chuckled, glancing at Azzi. “Oh, if you think I’m bad you just wait. She acts like she’s better than me now, it's crazy I’m telling you.”
Azzi rolled her eyes, laughing softly. “You’re ridiculous,” she muttered, though the smile on her face made it clear she didn’t mind.
The easy banter continued, and Paige felt herself sinking into the warmth of it all. For the first time that evening, she let go of her nerves entirely, grateful to be here—with Azzi, with her family, with people who already felt like home.
As the conversation flowed around the table, Azzi found her focus wandering constantly. She tried to stay engaged, laughing at Jon’s jokes when no one else did and chiming in here and there, but her gaze kept drifting back to Paige.
Paige, sitting confidently beside her, was dressed in a crisp white shirt and a perfectly knotted tie that Azzi hadn’t seen her wear before. Her hair was slicked back into a neat bun, highlighting her jawline and the sparkle of her diamond stud earrings. A tennis bracelet caught the light every time Paige moved, drawing Azzi’s eyes to her long, graceful fingers adorned with rings on each hand.
Azzi swallowed, trying to keep her thoughts in check, but something about the combination of Paige’s polished appearance and the way she carried herself tonight tugged at something deep within her. The sight of Paige, so composed and respectful in front of her parents, made Azzi’s heart race—and warmed her core in a way she wasn’t prepared for at this very moment.
She tried to blame her eagerness on their busy schedules. Between practices, games, and traveling, they hadn’t had much time to themselves lately. It had been a little longer than either of them wanted, and Azzi figured her reaction was just pent-up energy. But that reasoning didn’t stop her from feeling a pull toward Paige that was a little too strong to ignore.
As Paige leaned forward, answering a question from Tim about next season, Azzi couldn’t stop herself. She shifted slightly, brushing her hand against Paige’s arm to get her attention.
“Paige,” Azzi said softly, her tone perfectly casual despite the way her pulse was racing. “Something in my dress is poking me. Can you come with me to the bathroom to help me fix it, please?”
Paige turned to her, her lips curving into an easy smile. “Of course,” she said, already moving to stand. “Excuse us,” she added, glancing at Azzi’s parents with her usual politeness.
Azzi stood as well, smoothing her dress as they stepped away from the table. Paige placed a light hand on the small of Azzi’s back, guiding her through the maze of tables toward the restrooms. Azzi could feel her heart pounding, her cheeks warming as she tried to calm the sudden rush of anticipation swirling in her chest.
They reached the hallway leading to the restrooms, the noise of the restaurant fading slightly as they stepped into the quieter space. Azzi cast a quick glance around the bathroom, ensuring it was empty. Once she was satisfied, she grabbed Paige by the tie, pulling her into the nearest stall.
“Azzi—” Paige began, but her words were cut off as Azzi locked the door behind them and crashed her lips against Paige’s.
The kiss was hungry, desperate, and left Paige momentarily stunned before she melted into it, her hands instinctively gripping Azzi’s waist. Azzi’s voice was a low murmur against Paige’s lips, a mix of frustration and desire spilling out.
“We can’t go this long without sex again,” Azzi whispered, her tone half-scolding, half-pleading as she tugged on Paige’s tie to pull her even closer.
Paige couldn’t help but smirk between kisses, her pulse racing at this bold side of Azzi. “Noted,” she murmured against her lips, before deepening the kiss, her hands sliding down to Azzi’s ass.
Azzi gasped softly as Paige squeezed, and Paige took the opportunity to lift the hem of Azzi’s dress slightly, her hands brushing against her thighs. “You’re something else,” Paige whispered, her voice thick as she pressed Azzi back against the wall of the stall.
Azzi pulled back slightly, her breathing uneven as she muttered, “Think you can do it in less than ten?”
Paige didn’t respond with words. She fixed Azzi with a look—almost offended by the question.
Azzi swallowed, her cheeks flushing as she nodded silently, a small smile tugging at her lips. Without another word, she grabbed Paige’s tie again and pulled her back into a searing kiss.
The stall grew warmer as their lips moved together, each kiss deeper and hungrier than the last.
Azzi’s hands wandered, finding Paige’s right hand and lifting it between them. She toyed with Paige’s fingers, as she began sliding the rings off one by one. Paige didn’t stop her, too lost in the way Azzi’s lips felt against hers, the faint press of teeth grazing her bottom lip making her shudder.
Azzi’s movements were unhurried, almost reverent, as she set the rings on the small ledge in the stall. The metallic clinks were faint, barely audible over the sound of their breaths and the occasional shuffle of fabric.
As soon as all the rings are off, Paige moves her hand in between Azzi’s legs pulling her underwear hastily to the side, slipping her fingers in with ease making Azzi gasp.
Paige’s lips moved against Azzi’s jawline, trailing kisses down her neck, her hand moving in and out of Azzi just the way she liked it. Azzi’s breath hitched everytime Paige curled her fingers, her hand tangling in Paige’s tie to keep her close, not wanting to mess up the blonde’s hair.
“I miss you so much,” Azzi panted, her voice trembling as she tilted her head back.
Paige paused, her lips hovering over Azzi’s skin as she whispered, “I’m right here, Az. You don’t gotta miss me.”
Azzi let out a soft whimper, her fingers sliding to Paige’s collar as she whispered back, “You look too good tonight. I’m sorry I couldn’t wait.”
Paige smirked against her neck, her voice low. “It’s okay, baby. You don’t gotta be sorry,” she murmured, her tone full of reassurance.
Azzi shivered at Paige’s words, her grip on Paige tightening as their lips met again, this time more fervent as Azzi felt a tightening in her stomach. Paige continued moving her fingers at a steady pace, her touch confident knowing Azzi’s body like the back of her hand.
As Paige quickened her fingers, Azzi didn't have a choice but to tip her head back against the stall, the feeling of this angle almost unbearable for her.
“Oh fuck..right there baby. That’s the spot…don’t stop.” Azzi whispered out her tone breathless but quiet.
Paige pulls Azzi’s jaw softly making her look at her, both of their pupils dilated now as Paige begins circling her thumb adding a little more pressure. Her lips brush Azzi’s ear, her voice low as she begins to praise her. “You look so fucking good like this Az. I can’t wait to have you later..take my time with you. Show you how much I miss you pretty girl.” Azzi’s breath hitches at each word, a rush of heat pooling in her stomach everytime Paige’s lips brush against her neck while she talks. “You’re so fucking perfect, baby.” Paige added quietly as she sucked on Azzi’s neck softly, careful not to leave a mark.
The combination of Paige’s words, her fingers working in and out of Azzi, her thumb pressing against her slightly is all too much for Azzi as she throws her head back against the cool stall wall, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she looks at the ceiling, her lips trembling.
She bites down on her lip hard, trying to stifle the sounds clawing at her throat, but the effort only makes her eyes sting more. A single tear threatening to slip free as she clenched her jaw. With a quick, almost desperate motion, Azz grabs Paige’s free hand and brings it to her lips, sinking her teeth into it to muffle herself as she comes undone on Paige’s hand.
Paige tightens her hold around Azzi’s waist as she feels her legs shake, letting her ride out the feeling as she steadied her body effortlessly. Azzi’s breath is uneven, her forehead resting briefly against Paige’s shoulder as she gather’s herself. Paige leans down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to Azzi’s head. “You did so good for me, baby.” she whispers, her voice filled with warmth as she pulls her fingers out of Azzi. As soon as Azzi see’s this her lips are wrapped around them immediately, her tongue tracing every inch of them as looks at Paige. The sight alone make’s Paige’s heart race again, her chest tightening.
Before Paige could process the moment, Azzi was already straightening herself, smoothing her dress back down as she silently stepped out of the stall.
Azzi walked over to the mirror, turning on the faucet to wash her hands, her movements a little too calm for what just happened. Paige followed after a beat, stepping out of the stall and making her way to stand behind Azzi. The two didn’t exchange a word as their eyes met in the mirror. Paige adjusted her slightly askew tie, her lips twitching into a faint smirk, while Azzi calmly reapplied her lip gloss.
Just as Paige considered closing the distance between them, Katie popped into the bathroom. “Everything okay in here?” she asked, her gaze flicking between them.
Azzi didn’t miss a beat, flashing her mom a quick, reassuring smile. “Yeah, there was a piece of the tag still in there,” she replied smoothly, her voice steady and believable.
Katie nodded, satisfied. “Ah, okay. Just wanted to let you know the food’s at the table.”
“Thanks, Mom. We’ll be right out,” Azzi said, her smile unwavering as Katie disappeared back into the restaurant.
Once the door swung shut, Azzi turned toward Paige, stepping closer. She reached up to wipe a faint smudge of lip gloss from the corner of Paige’s mouth, her touch gentle but lingering. Leaning in, she gave Paige a quick peck on the lips, her voice soft as she whispered, “I love you.”
And without waiting for a response, Azzi laced their fingers together, her grip warm, before tugging Paige toward the door. Paige let herself be led, a subtle grin tugging at her lips as she squeezed Azzi’s hand in return.
When they returned to the table, they slid into their seats, now sitting noticeably closer than before, their thighs brushing under the table as they exchanged subtle, knowing smiles.
A couple of minutes later, as the family settled back into their comfortable conversation and began enjoying their food, the server approached the table. She carried a small collection of items in her hand, her gaze focused on Paige.
“I think you might’ve left these in the bathroom when you were washing your hands,” the server said with a polite smile, holding out the rings Azzi had taken off of her.
Paige looked up from her plate, her brows lifting slightly thinking about why she didn’t have them as she smiled. “Oh, thank you, I–”
Before Paige could finish or reach for the rings, the server continued, her tone becoming more conversational. “They’re really cool honestly. I only knew they were yours when someone brought them to us because I noticed them on you earlier. The designs are so unique”
The comment hung in the air for a beat too long as the table processed her words. Azzi looks up, her eyes locking on the server with a raised brow, the finest flicker of irritation crossing her face.
“Actually,” Azzi said, her voice smooth as she reached for the rings instead, “I can take those for her.”
The server blinked, her gaze shifting briefly to Azzi’s hand before hesitatingly handing the rings over. “Oh, uh—sure,” she said, her smile faltering.
Azzi accepted them with a polite but pointed “Thank you,” her tone making it clear the server’s conversation with Paige was over.
Jon and Jose exchanged knowing glances and immediately began snickering, their shoulders shaking with restrained laughter. Paige rolled her eyes at them but couldn’t quite hide the smirk tugging at her lips.
Across the table, Katie and Tim observed the interaction, clearly surprised. Katie leaned closer to Tim, murmuring something under her breath, and he chuckled softly in response.
Azzi, seemingly unbothered by the attention, turned back to Paige. Slipping the rings onto Paige’s fingers one by one with deliberate care, her touch gentle but lingering as her eyes flicked between Paige’s hand and her face.
“Thanks, baby,” Paige said softly, her voice low and intimate, meant only for Azzi.
Azzi didn’t respond immediately, but her faint smile and the glint in her dark eyes spoke for her. As she finished with the last ring, she lightly tapped Paige’s hand, her gaze holding Paige’s for a moment longer than necessary.
“You’re welcome,” Azzi finally murmured, her tone quiet.
The server, now seeming a bit flustered, quickly excused herself. Azzi watched her retreating figure for a moment before turning back to her food like nothing happened. Across the table, Jon and Jose exchanged another glance before bursting into barely contained laughter, earning an exasperated sigh from Paige.
“Y’all are obnoxious,” Paige muttered, shaking her head as she took a sip of her drink.
…
Later that evening, as the meal wound down, Paige excused herself from the table, claiming she needed to stretch her legs. Azzi’s eyes followed her, narrowing slightly at the bullshit excuse. She knew Paige was up to something, but didn’t stop her, choosing to finish the last few bites of her food instead.
When the server arrived, Tim instinctively reached in his pocket for his wallet, only to have the server inform him, “It’s already been taken care of.”
Tim blinked, surprised. “What do you mean, taken care of?”
Azzi’s gaze immediately shifted toward Paige, who was now sitting back in her chair trying to act way too casual.
“Paige,” Katie said, her tone holding a mix of amusement and exasperation.
Paige shrugged, feigning innocence. “What? It’s my treat. You guys have done plenty for me.”
“Still,” Tim started, but Azzi cut him off with a soft laugh.
“Don’t even waste your breath,” Azzi said, placing a hand on Paige’s arm and squeezing gently. “I’ve tried. Once she decides something, good luck changing her mind.”
Paige turned her grin toward Azzi. “You know me so well.”
“I do,” Azzi said, her voice warm but teasing. “Too well.”
After a few more moments they all stood to leave, Tim and Katie announcing they were heading back to their hotel for the night.
“Y’all coming back with us?” Tim asked Jon and Jose as they gathered their things.
“Nah,” Jon said, slinging an arm around Jose. “We’re gonna hang out with Paige and Azzi for a bit.”
“Yeah,” Jose added with a grin, “no games to play back at the hotel, so we’re thinking of running some Fortnite with Paige.”
Paige groaned, shaking her head. “You just want me to carry you to a win.”
“Exactly,” Jon said without shame.
Katie gave them all a playful look. “Don’t keep them up too late,” she said, directing her comment toward Paige and Azzi. “And, Azzi, make sure they don’t destroy your dorm.”
“Don’t worry, Mom,” Azzi said, rolling her eyes but smiling.
As Tim and Katie waved them off and headed to the hotel, Paige and Azzi lingered behind. Their hands brushed occasionally as they walked to the car, sharing soft smiles under the glow of the streetlights. Ahead, Jon and Jose were already bickering over who would get the first controller, their voices fading slightly as Paige and Azzi slowed their pace.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Azzi said softly, glancing at Paige.
“I wanted to,” Paige replied, her tone easy but genuine. “Your parents have been amazing. It’s the least I could do.”
Azzi smiled, her heart warming as she reached out, lacing her fingers with Paige’s. “You’re amazing, you know that?”
Paige’s lips quirked into a grin, squeezing Azzi’s hand gently. “I try.”
…
They had been back at the dorms for maybe an hour and a half. Paige, Jon, and Jose were glued to the screen, deeply immersed in the game. Laughter and yelling filled the room as they argued over strategies and teased one another about their skills—or lack thereof. Azzi, however, was content to just sit back and watch.
Paige had changed into something more comfortable shortly after they got back. She’d traded her earlier outfit for just the tank top she’d been wearing under her button-up and a pair of Azzi's sweatpants that hung a little loose on her hips. The sight of her had Azzi’s mind wandering again far more than she cared to admit.
Leaning back against the couch, Azzi folded her arms and bit her lip, trying to focus on the game. But it wasn’t working. Her thoughts kept drifting to Paige. The way her arms flexed slightly as she leaned forward, controller in hand, and the way her hair fell messily around her shoulders—it was all too much. Maybe Paige was right. Maybe she was the horn-ball after all.
Azzi shifted in her seat, clearing her throat softly as if to ground herself. Suddenly, a memory resurfaced: a conversation she’d had with Paige a few weeks ago in the library. She had promised Paige something that, in the chaos of their schedules, she’d never actually followed through on.
The realization lit a spark in her. And without a word, Azzi stood and headed to her room making sure her movements were casual.
When she returned a few minutes later, Paige looked up from the couch, her smile easy and warm. It was Jon and Jose’s turn, who were now locked in an intense match, their yelling louder than ever.
“Where’d you go?” Paige asked softly, tilting her head as she met Azzi’s gaze.
Azzi ignored the question, her focus shifting to Jon and Jose. “Alright, time to go home,” she said, her tone firm.
Jon and Jose groaned in unison, their attention barely leaving the screen.
“What? Come on, Azzi!” Jon protested. “We’re just getting warmed up.”
“Yeah, we’ll crash here,” Jose added, clearly not ready to give up the game.
Paige got up from the couch, brushing past Azzi to try and mediate. “Baby, it’s fine. They can stay the night. It’s not a big deal—”
Azzi cut her off, her voice lower and softer now, but with a hint of urgency. “They can’t stay.”
The look in her eyes—and the subtle edge in her tone—was all Paige needed. Her lips twitched into a smile as she turned toward the guys.
“Alright, you heard her,” Paige said, grabbing her keys off the counter and tossing them to Jose. “You can take my car back to the hotel. I’ll pick it up in the morning. Please don’t crash.”
Jon and Jose groaned again, grumbling under their breaths as Paige ushered them toward the door.
“Man, you guys are no fun,” Jon muttered as he slipped on his shoes.
“Yeah, yeah,” Paige replied, already opening the door. “See you tomorrow.”
With a final nudge from Paige, the two reluctantly stepped out into the hall. As the door closed behind them, the dorm fell quiet, save for the faint hum of the game still running on the TV.
Paige turned back to Azzi, her smile widening as she leaned against the door. “Now, what’s this about, huh?”
Azzi didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she stepped closer as she said, “Come find out.” Without another word, she turned and disappeared into her room, leaving the door open for Paige to follow.
Paige raised a brow, curiosity piqued, before pushing off the door and following her silently. As she stepped inside, she noticed the soft glow of candles scattered throughout the room, their warm light casting flickering shadows on the walls. The scent of something faintly floral hung in the air, and the usual space now felt intimate and inviting.
Azzi stood in the center of the room, waiting. Her eyes locked onto Paige’s as she slowly approached, every step intentional. When she finally reached her, Azzi’s hands moved to the hem of Paige’s tank top. She didn’t ask for permission, didn’t need to. She pulled the shirt up and over Paige’s head, the movement slow, almost reverent. Paige didn’t protest for a second as she just watched Azzi.
Azzi’s fingers trailed lightly down Paige’s stomach, the gentle touch making her tense under the sensation. The corners of Azzi’s lips curled into a smile as she felt Paige’s muscles react. Her hands moved lower, tugging at the waistband of the sweatpants Paige had borrowed. She didn’t say a word, but the gesture was clear.
Paige obeyed, hooking her thumbs into the waistband and sliding them down her legs before stepping out of them. Now standing in just her boxers, she watched as Azzi’s gaze roamed over her.
“Go sit on the bed,” Azzi said softly.
Paige’s throat felt dry, but she nodded, doing as she was told. She crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed, leaning back on her hands as she waited, her eyes never leaving Azzi.
Azzi took a step closer, her gaze never leaving Paige, as she said softly, “You remember what you found on my phone in the library?”
Paige’s brows furrowed briefly before the memory came rushing back. The realization sent a spark through her, and her expression shifted, her eyes darkening immediately at the thought. She nodded, swallowing hard, though she tried to keep her face neutral.
Azzi tilted her head, the corner of her mouth lifting into a smile. “I never got to wear it for you when it got here.”
Paige’s lips parted, her voice coming out a little rougher than intended. “Do you have it on?”
Azzi didn’t answer right away, letting the silence build as she held Paige’s gaze. Then, she gave the faintest nod, her voice just above a whisper. “Do you want to see?”
Paige leaned back on her elbows, her calm demeanor slipping slightly as her breathing quickened. She gave another nod, her eyes raking over Azzi with unspoken anticipation. “Show me,” she murmured, her voice low and almost commanding.
Azzi didn’t rush. Her movements were slow, deliberate, her eyes locked on Paige as she reached for the hem of her shirt. She pulled it over her head in one smooth motion, revealing the soft pink lace of the lingerie top. The delicate fabric clung to her perfectly, the intricate detailing highlighting her body. Her piercing caught the dim light from the candles, dangling just above her belly button, drawing Paige’s attention like a magnet.
Paige swallowed hard, her eyes tracing every line and curve. “Fuck, baby,” she murmured, the words slipping out before she could stop them.
Azzi’s lips curved into a small, knowing smile as she hooked her thumbs into the waistband of her shorts. She slid them down slowly, letting them fall to the floor, revealing the matching lace bottoms that left little to the imagination. The way the set hugged her made Paige’s breath hitch audibly, a low sound escaping her throat despite herself.
Azzi’s smile widened as she caught Paige’s reaction. “Like what you see?” she teased softly, stepping forward, her confidence radiating with every step.
Paige nodded, her jaw clenching slightly as her hands twitched against the bed, like she was barely holding herself back. “You’re... perfect,” she said, her voice filled with desire, her eyes drinking Azzi in like she couldn’t get enough.
For a long moment, Paige didn’t say anything, her gaze roaming over Azzi’s body like she was trying to memorize every stroke of a painting. Her eyes traced the lines of Azzi’s toned abs, the curve of her waist, the strength in her long legs, and the soft pink lace that framed her so perfectly. Paige’s throat worked as she swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper as she said, “C’mere, baby.”
Azzi heard her, but a playful smirk tugged at her lips. She tilted her head slightly, feigning confusion. “What was that?”
Paige’s jaw tightened at this, and she spoke a little louder this time, her voice firm but still laced with affection. “Azzi, come here.”
Azzi finally moved, her steps slow, the sway of her hips only adding to the tension in the air. When she reached Paige, she stopped, standing just a breath away. She didn’t say anything, didn’t touch Paige, her smirk softening into something more tender as she waited.
Paige sat up slowly, her hands lifting to trace over Azzi’s body. Her fingertips brushed against the ridges of Azzi’s abs, skimmed the curve of her hips, and followed the line of her thighs. Her touch was gentle, almost reverent, as if she couldn’t believe Azzi was real.
“You’re so beautiful,” Paige murmured, her voice low and full of awe. “So perfect.” Her hands moved up, her thumbs grazing Azzi’s sides as her eyes flickered up to meet hers. “Do you know how lucky I am? How lucky I feel every time I look at you?”
Azzi smiled at Paige’s words, her chest rising and falling as Paige’s hands moved to rest on her hips.
“I’d do anything for you,” Paige continued, her tone soft but steady, like a vow. “Anything, baby. You mean everything to me.”
Azzi’s confidence faltered for just a moment, her expression softening as Paige’s words settled over her. She reached out, cupping Paige’s face gently, her thumb brushing along her jaw.
Paige’s hands slid from Azzi’s hips to her waist, her grip firm yet tender as she gently pulled her closer. Azzi followed Paige’s guidance, letting herself be drawn into her lap until her legs straddled Paige’s waist. Paige adjusted them with care, leaning back against the headboard to settle them comfortably on the bed.
Azzi’s hands found their place on either side of Paige’s face, her thumbs brushing along her cheekbones as their gazes locked. There was a moment of stillness, of silent understanding, before Paige tilted her head up and met Azzi’s lips with her own.
The first kiss was achingly slow, deliberate in its tenderness, like they were savoring every second. It reminded them both of their first kiss—how careful, how exploratory it had been. Their mouths moved together in perfect rhythm, soft and unhurried, each movement an unspoken declaration of their feelings.
Paige’s hands roamed gently up Azzi’s back, fingers tracing the delicate lace of her lingerie. Azzi’s lips parted against Paige’s, and their tongues met, sliding against each other in a slow, teasing dance. The kiss deepened naturally, their breaths mingling as they lost themselves in the moment.
Everything about it was messy yet perfect, their mouths searching, finding, and claiming each other again and again. Azzi’s fingers threaded into Paige’s hair, tugging lightly, while Paige’s hands held her securely, grounding them both.
As the kiss deepened Azzi’s breathing grew heavier, and without thinking, she began to circle her hips against Paige, her movements slow desperate for more closeness. Paige’s hands instinctively shifted to Azzi’s waist, guiding her rhythm as her lips left Azzi’s, trailing down to her jaw and then lower.
Paige’s mouth found the sensitive spot on Azzi’s neck, and she sucked lightly, her tongue soothing the area as Azzi let out a quiet whimper. Paige moving further, her lips brushing over Azzi’s collarbone before finding the top of her chest, her kisses warm and teasing.
Azzi’s forehead rested against Paige’s as her hands gripped her shoulders for support. Her voice was soft, almost breathless, as she mumbled, “Paige... it feels so good.”
Paige hummed against her skin. “Yeah, baby?” she murmured between kisses, her voice thick with adoration. “You like that?”
Azzi nodded, her lips parting as a shaky sigh escaped. “So much... don’t ever want you to stop.”
Paige didn’t need to be told twice. Her kisses grew more intentional, her hands sliding lower, holding Azzi in place as they moved together. Paige whispered, her voice barely audible but full of devotion, “You’re so perfect, Azzi. I could do this forever.”
Eventually, Azzi couldn’t resist anymore and pulled Paige back into a kiss, her lips capturing Paige’s with a renewed hunger. Their movements became more urgent, their shared breaths heavier as Azzi’s hips continued their slow, deliberate circles against Paige.
Paige’s hands slid up Azzi’s thighs, gripping her gently but firmly, as though grounding herself against the growing intensity between them. Feeling the shift in their dynamic, Paige adjusted her position, leaning back further until her shoulders rested against the pillows. Azzi followed effortlessly, her knees on either side of Paige as she settled onto her stomach.
The new angle brought them impossibly closer, and Paige let out a quiet groan feeling Azzi against her stomach, the thin fabric not hiding anything as her hands steadied Azzi as she moved. Azzi’s kisses trailed from Paige’s lips to her jawline, then to the sensitive spot just below her ear, her breath hot and uneven against Paige’s skin.
“You’re driving me crazy,” Paige murmured, her voice rough, as her hands skimmed up Azzi’s sides, fingers tracing the smooth line of her back.
Azzi smiled against Paige’s neck. “Good,” she whispered, her lips brushing the shell of Paige’s ear. “That’s exactly what I wanted.”
At this Azzi starts rocking herself against Paige’s stomach speeding up her movements as she throws her head back at the feeling.
Paige let out another low groan as Azzi’s movements against her stomach grew more deliberate, the heat between them undeniable. Her hands instinctively found Azzi’s hips, fingers pressing firmly into her skin to guide her, matching the rhythm Azzi had set.
“You feel so good,” Paige murmured, her voice husky and strained as she tilted her head back, her gaze never leaving Azzi’s face.
Azzi bit her lip, her breathing unsteady as she moved with Paige’s assistance. “So do you,” she whispered, her tone trembling but sincere. Her hands slid up Paige’s chest, fingers brushing over her collarbone before they curled around the back of her neck, anchoring her.
Paige’s grip on Azzi’s hips tightened slightly, her thumbs rubbing soothing circles against her skin as their gazes locked. “You’re incredible, you know that?” Paige murmured, her voice softening just slightly as she took in Azzi’s flushed face, her tousled hair, the way her lips parted with every shaky breath.
Azzi’s laugh was quiet, almost shy, as she leaned forward, her forehead resting lightly against Paige’s. “You’re biased,” she teased, her voice barely audible over their shared breaths.
Paige’s lips curved into a lazy smile, her hands steadying Azzi as she shifted her hips again. “Maybe I am,” she murmured. “But it’s true, baby. Every single bit of you…”
Azzi’s breath hitched at Paige’s words, and she pressed her lips to Paige’s in a slow, lingering kiss, silencing her as she moved against her stomach harder, chasing her release.
Azzi break’s the kiss momentarily whining against Paige’s lips as she says “I’m so close baby.”
Hearing this Paige moves her hands lower to press Azzi further into her as she whispers, “I can feel you all over my stomach pretty girl.”
Paige’s words immediately make Azzi buck her hips into her as her breath hitches, her forehead pressed firmly against Paige as her movements become less controlled and more frantic. “I’m about to–fuck Paige,” she stammered, her voice shaky and raw as her nails lightly scrape against Paige’s shoulders.
“Shit, shit, shit…”
Paige’s grip on Azzi’s hips tightened, her thumbs stroking her skin in soothing circles as she murmured softly, “I’ve got you, baby. Let go for me.” Her voice was low and steady cutting through the haze.
Azzi’s response was barely coherent as she clung to Paige, her body tensing and trembling as she reached her peak. Paige stayed steady beneath her, holding her close, whispering words of reassurance and adoration that Azzi could barely hear over the pounding in her chest and the rush of her breaths.
When the tension finally ebbed, Azzi collapsed against Paige, her forehead still resting against her as she struggled to catch her breath. Paige let her settle, running her hands soothingly up and down Azzi’s back, her touch featherlight and grounding.
“You’re so damn perfect,” Paige murmured against Azzi’s temple, pressing a soft kiss there.
Azzi let out a breathless laugh, her voice muffled against Paige’s shoulder. “You’re not too bad yourself,” she teased weakly, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on Paige’s skin.
Before Paige could respond, Azzi sat up, her hands resting on Paige’s chest for balance for a moment. Then slowly, she shifted down, sliding herself along Paige’s body before she settled in between her legs pulling her boxes off with ease.
Azzi doesn’t bother taking her time knowing the state Paige is in from watching her so she immediately attaches her lips to her making Paige groan at the contact.
“Fuck Az.” Paige murmurs as she throws her head back against the pillows, her hands finding Azzi’s head immediately.
Azzi doesn’t say anything, just hums against Paige knowing she’ll feel it, smirking slightly when Paige pushes her head down further as she throws one arm over her face clenching her jaw at the feeling of Azzi’s tongue against her.
Azzi lifts her head slightly, a playful smile tugging at her lips knowing Paige hates when she teases her, “I love it when you’re like this, you never last long.”
Before she can say more, Paige’s hand is pressing her head back down, her voice thick with need as she murmurs, “Azzi please.”
Azzi chuckles against her, her tone teasing as she says, “Always so bossy.” before attaching her tongue back against Paige, a little firmer this time making Paige moan out “Fuck you feel incredible baby.”
As Azzi continues working her tongue against Paige it doesn’t take long before Paige is pushing her hips against Azzi, pulling at her hair as she mumbles incoherently. Azzi just watches through her eyelashes, loving the way Paige’s body reacts to her, loving the way her blue eyes flutter closed despite her trying to keep them open. At a particularly aggressive suck Paige whimpers out saying “I’m close Az. Shit, I’m so close..don’t stop baby please.”
Not even two seconds later she’s falling apart with Azzi’s name falling from her lips over and over as Azzi makes sure she cleans every inch of her up until Paige’s hips still completely and her hands fall from Azzi’s head.
Azzi kisses up Paige’s body slowly and finds herself hovering over Paige again, her eyes softening as she takes in the sight of Paige, eyes half-lidded, clouded with satisfaction, lips curling into a lazy smile. Azzi leans down, giving Paige a slow deep kiss letting her taste everything.
As they part, Azzi chuckles softly at Paige, her voice warm. “I love you Paige,” she murmurs.
Paige’s eyes are still closed, her voice just above a whisper, but it’s steady. “I love you more.”
Azzi grins, settling onto Paige’s chest, resting her cheek against her as Paige’s hand instinctively moves to her hair. With gentle, soothing strokes, Paige starts rubbing her hair, mumbling through her heavy breaths, “Just... gimme a second. We’re not done.”
Azzi laughs quietly, the sound vibrating against Paige. “I know.”

✮⋆˙ newboy!matt and popular!reader have their first kiss !
read all newboy!matt writings here & find everything else here
note: this is obviously further down the timeline of anything else i have written for these two but i wanted to write something cute for them because everything else so far has been a lil angsty! after this the angst will continue tho..
for weeks now, you and matt had been spending more and more time together—hanging out after school most days, often spending time at his place with his brothers whilst you watched the three of them bicker, you’d take long drives around town, with no actual destination in mind, just the quiet hum of the car and the occasional glance between you. sometimes, you’d even sit in silence, both reading your books, each lost in them but still in the same space, just enjoying the presence of one another.
since you met him, there had always been something intense between you from the start, something neither of you had ever addressed. the lingering glances, the way it felt like the rest of the world was on pause when you were with him. you hadn’t said anything about your feelings for him, you couldn’t bring yourself to say it, afraid of the rejection because you know that would break you now, but you felt it, the pull towards him, you just prayed he felt the same.
tonight was no different, you were sitting on the floor of his bedroom, flipping through one of his books you’d grabbed off the shelf. matt was sat on the bed, his elbows rested on his knees, watching you as you read, his brow furrowed.
“you know” you say, not looking up at him. “i was thinking..you still haven’t told me what happened at your old school.”
matt winces, not because you asking him the question bothered him, but because he didn’t want to get into it all with you. not just yet.
“it got me to be transferred to your school, that’s all that should matter” he says, his voice casual, trying to play it down. “it’s not a big deal.”
you glance up at him then, a smirk forming on your lips. “yeah, sure. because people just get transferred to a new school for ‘no big deal’”
he rolls his eyes, leaning back slightly. “yeah, well i did.”
you close the book with a snap and set it down beside you, you were unconvinced. “i don’t buy it, pretty boy” you say, voice turning playful, almost flirty. “you have this whole mysterious tough guy act going on, and just give me a little time, and i’m gonna figure you out.”
“oh, are you now? what’s your plan of action then pretty girl?” he asks you, raising an eyebrow.
you smirk, slowly standing up. “i just want to see if all those rumors about you are all talk.”
he straightens himself up, catching the playful look in your eyes. “you sure you want to do that?”
you don’t hesitate, taking a step toward him, nudging his arm lightly. “come on tough guy, show me what you got.”
before he can react, you push him, gently but just hard enough for him to fall back on the bed. he laughs, not surprised, but impressed by your sudden act of confidence. the sound of his laugh sends a flutter through your chest, making your heart skip a beat.
“oh, it is so on now” he says, grinning as he moves quickly towards you, grabbing you by the waist and pulling you down onto the floor with him.
you let out a yelp, laughing, but quickly managing to squirm out of his grip, moving so you’re now on top of him straddling his chest, hands placed softly on his shoulders, pinning him down.
for a moment, you’re both frozen in place, completely caught in how the level of intensity in the room had switched, there was a feeling of something else, something neither of you had acknowledged yet.
you catch your breath as you instinctively lean in, your fingers curling against his t shirt, your eyes searching his face, your lips hovering just inches away from his, and you could feel your chest rise and fall quicker than usual. the playful energy between you had faded, leaving only unspoken tension that had been brewing for weeks.
matt couldn’t help it, he wasn’t sure who moved first, but before his mind could even catch up to his body, he was pulling you closer, lips crashing against yours. the kiss started slow, hesitant at first, like neither of you wanted the moment to end, it was soft, your lips brushing together in a way that felt more like an invitation than an action. as the world around you completely faded, the kiss deepened, growing more desperate, as if you had both been waiting for this for a long time, and now that it had finally come, neither of you wanted to let go.
your hands find their way into his hair, tugging him closer. you could feel his heart pounding against yours, and he pulled you in tighter, deepening the kiss so it was slow and heavy. his hands finding their way to your ass, squeezing it lightly.
then, suddenly, the door swings open.
chris walks in abruptly, “matt, have you see—“ his voice cut off as he takes in the two of you, and he pauses, blinking in disbelief. “well, well…”
before matt could even react, chris was already calling down the hall. “nick! get in here, you gotta see this!”

“Is it really that funny?”

The Monaco apartment was dimly lit, the quiet hum of the city filtering through the windows as she and Max sprawled on the plush gray couch. Her focus was entirely on her phone, the small screen glowing softly against the shadows of the room. She was watching clips of one of her favorite streamers, a smile playing on her lips as chuckles spilled out, warm and genuine, every few seconds.
Max glanced at her, his curiosity piqued, but it quickly shifted to something closer to irritation as he caught sight of the screen. There was a guy—confident, good-looking, and undeniably funny—reacting to a video while cracking jokes that clearly had her entertained.
“Is it really that funny?” Max asked, his tone carrying a hint of that unmistakable jealous edge.
She looked over at him, catching the way his jaw tightened slightly, his blue eyes narrowing at the sight of the streamer. It was endearing, really, how transparent he could be. “It is, actually,” she said lightly, her voice laced with teasing amusement.
Max’s eyebrows shot up, and he gave her an unmistakably offended look. His arms crossed over his chest as he leaned back against the couch, his pout making him look every bit like a sulking child.
“What’s that look for?” she asked, her laughter bubbling up again, softer this time. She knew exactly what that look meant—Max Verstappen, fierce on the track and cool in almost every situation, didn’t like sharing her attention, not even with someone on a screen.
He shook his head, but the twitch of his lips betrayed him. “Nothing,” he said stubbornly, though his eyes flicked back to her phone. “I just didn’t know your sense of humor was so… basic.”
Her laughter turned into a snort as she nudged him with her foot. “Oh, come on. You’re jealous, aren’t you?”
Max scoffed, his cheeks flushing just slightly. “Jealous? Of that guy?” He gestured toward the phone with exaggerated disdain. “Please.”
She raised an eyebrow, a playful grin tugging at her lips. “You totally are. Admit it—you hate that he’s making me laugh more than you do.”
Max huffed, but there was no real heat behind it. “I’m way funnier than him,” he muttered, leaning closer to grab her phone. She squealed in protest, holding it out of his reach.
“You’re ridiculous,” she said between laughs as she tried to fend him off.
“Maybe,” Max replied, his grin breaking through as he managed to snag the phone. He paused the video and set it on the table, his attention fully on her now. “But at least now I don’t have to compete with Mr. Streamer.”
She rolled her eyes, her amused smile teasing. “You’re impossible, like a baby all day craving attention,” she joked, knowing he only acted so clingy with her.
Max smirked at her words, leaning in slightly, his eyes glinting with that playful, mischievous look he always got when he was about to turn the tables. “A baby, huh? Is that what you think of me?” he asked, his voice soft and teasing as he slid closer to her on the couch.
She laughed, shaking her head. “Oh, absolutely. A big, sulking baby when you don’t get what you want.” Her tone was light, but the way her heart sped up as he closed the distance between them was impossible to ignore.
“Well,” Max murmured, his voice dropping as his face inched closer to hers, “babies need lots of love, don’t they?”
Her breath caught for a moment, the playful atmosphere shifting into something warmer, softer. She felt his hand gently settle on her waist, pulling her just a little closer as his lips brushed against her temple in a featherlight kiss.
“You’re ridiculous,” she muttered, though her voice lacked any conviction. She turned her head slightly, meeting his gaze. The proximity made her stomach do flips, and she couldn’t help but smile.
“And yet,” Max said, his lips curving into a grin, “you put up with me anyway.”
Before she could reply, he leaned in fully, capturing her lips in a soft, unhurried kiss. It wasn’t rushed or demanding, just sweet and full of affection, the kind of kiss that made her forget everything else for a moment. His hand moved to cradle her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin as he deepened the kiss slightly, enough to make her head spin.
When they finally pulled apart, her cheeks were flushed, and she couldn’t suppress the shy smile tugging at her lips. Max looked down at her with a smug expression, clearly pleased with himself.
“That’s cheating,” she whispered, her voice breathy but amused.
“Cheating?” he echoed, leaning his forehead against hers. “Pretty sure this is just me winning.”
She rolled her eyes again, laughing softly as she relaxed into him, letting her head rest against his chest. His arms wrapped around her securely, holding her close in the dim light of the apartment.
“You’re impossible,” she murmured, though the affection in her tone was unmistakable.
“And you love it,” Max replied, pressing another kiss to her hair as they settled into a comfortable silence.

aaron pierre x caribbean!reader
warning : prepare your best kompa/gouyad/zouk playlist bc it’s about to go down but other than that almost a smut (im shyyy)
The salty breeze of the ocean, the fading light of the Guadeloupean sun mixed with the soft hum of cicadas filtered through the open window, making you slowly emerging. You blinked awake slowly, your head nestled against aaron’s chest. Arm draped lazily around your waist, his fingers absently trace circles on your back as he stirred beside you.
"Good nap?” he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep. “Perfect nap,” you replied, stretching slightly before propping yourself up to look at him. Guadeloupe actually looked so good on him. The bed was a mess from you lying down, and the sleepy smile on his lips was enough to make your heart skip a beat.
But the sound of laughter and music rising from the yard below reminded you why you’d woken up in the first place. You sat up fully, glancing out the window to see your family gathering under the string lights, setting up long tables piled high with food. “They’re starting without us,” you teased, nudging Aaron.
“I guess we’d better get down there,” he said, sitting up and running a hand on his face, trying to erase off the sleep on it. But he didn’t move right away, his eyes lingering on you as you went to put on a dress. “You look good like this,” he added softly. You rolled your eyes, fighting a smile. “Pa dérangé mwen. We’ve already made them wait long enough.”
When you both made your way down to the yard, the atmosphere was electric. The scent of grilled fish and spices filled the air, mingling with the bass-heavy beat of zouk music playing through the speakers. Your aunts were dancing barefoot on the grass, and your uncles were already sipping rhum under the flickering lights.
“There they are!” your mother called out, waving you over. “An ja di zot yo té ka dòmi toujou !” She told everyone. Aaron’s hand found yours instinctively as you wove through the crowd. Your cousins greeted him with playful teasing, asking if he was ready to dance tonight. “Oh, he’s dancing don’t worry,” you said with a smirk, glancing at him. “No excuses.”
He laughed, holding his hands up. “Be gentle with me, I’m still learning.” The music shifted to a tad slower, deeper rhythm—kompa, rich and sensual. You grabbed his hand, pulling him toward the makeshift dance floor before he could protest.
“just follow my lead, baby,” you whispered, pressing close to him as the music wrapped around you both like a second skin. His hands found your waist, tentative at first, but as the rhythm guided your movements, he relaxed into it, letting you sway together. “kon sa,” you said softly, guiding him with your hands. His grip tightened slightly, his movements becoming more confident as he matched your steps.
It wasn’t long before the world around you faded. The laughter, the clinking glasses, even the teasing whistles from your cousins—all of it melted away as Aaron’s forehead rested lightly against yours. His hands slid lower, gripping your hips as he moved in time with you, his touch growing more confident with every beat.
“You’re a fast learner,” you murmured, your lips brushing against his ear. “Or maybe you’re just making this very easy,” he replied, his voice low, sending a shiver down your spine. The music shifted again, this time to gouyad—slow, deliberate, and utterly intoxicating. You turned in his arms, your back pressed against his chest as you rolled your hips to the beat. His breath hitched, his hands tightening on your waist.
“Are you trying to drive me crazy in front of your family ?” he whispered, his voice rough now. You glanced over your shoulder, a teasing smile playing on your lips. “Just enjoying the music. I missed this.”
But the way his hands pulled you closer, the way his lips brushed against your neck, said otherwise. By the time the song ended, his patience was wearing thin. “you’re so pretty.” he said, his voice low and full of heat.
He barely had time to add anything else before he was lead back toward the house, you grip firm and his eyes dark with intent. The moment you stepped inside, the world outside became a distant memory. Aaron’s lips were on yours before the door of your old bedroom even closed, his hands exploring every inch of you with a hunger that made your knees weak.
“You’re dangerous,” he murmured against your skin, his voice sending a thrill straight to your core. Lying you down on your bed, he lifted your dress, allowing him to put your legs around his torso. "Tell me what you want ma’" he tells you, going to kiss on you neck, his hands coming to grab your panties.
"make love to me, papa." You answered, hands going down the nape of his neck.

fic prompt! Since I just landed on a flight home, how about Buck and Tommy fly somewhere and this is the time that Buck gets to really see Tommy being a nerd about flying, even if he's not flying the plane himself. If it sparks joy. 😊
Sarah i know i'm so late, but I've been thinking about this since you sent it.. finally, an idea came by lol (hope you like it 🥰)
Buck was mid-ramble about the aerodynamics of commercial planes—something he'd picked up during a late-night internet deep dive before their trip—when he paused, noticing Tommy sitting rigidly beside him.
Tommy’s hand gripped the armrest tightly, his fingers tapping an uneven rhythm as though he couldn’t quite keep them still. His jaw was set, lips pressed into a thin line, and his gaze flickered back and forth between the window and the seat in front of him.
“You okay?” Buck asked, tilting his head toward him.
“Yeah, fine,” Tommy replied quickly, his voice clipped. His eyes didn’t meet Buck’s, and his grip on the armrest tightened slightly as the plane jolted, turning onto the main runway.
Buck didn’t press him. Instead, he shifted in his seat, leaning just a little closer.
As the plane accelerated for takeoff, Tommy exhaled sharply, his foot bouncing lightly against the floor. His fingers tapped the armrest before curling tightly, knuckles pale. His breathing was shallow—measured, as if keeping himself in check. Buck noticed without a word, his gaze flicking briefly to Tommy’s hand before sliding his own over it. His thumb brushed lightly against Tommy’s wrist, a quiet reassurance.
Tommy didn’t react at first, but then Buck shifted his hand, gently coaxing Tommy’s fingers to relax. Tommy hesitated, glancing at Buck out of the corner of his eye, but the tension in his grip eased. Slowly, almost shyly, his fingers relaxing enough for Buck to intertwine them with his own.
Buck didn’t say anything, didn’t even glance at him, just kept talking about the mechanics of lift-off as though nothing was out of the ordinary. His voice was steady and warm, grounding in a way that pulled Tommy’s focus from the roaring engines and the tilt of the plane as it left the ground.
Tommy’s grip tightened briefly around Buck’s hand, but this time it wasn’t out of nervousness—it was something quieter, steadier. Buck’s faint smile grew as he felt the shift, his thumb brushing lightly along the side of Tommy’s hand.
By the time the plane leveled out, Tommy had regained his composure. His usual confidence returned, and Buck could see it in the way he subtly shifted in his seat, reclaiming his space.
And their fingers stayed intertwined, neither of them letting go.
“Sorry about that,” Tommy muttered, finally looking at Buck. “Guess I do not like flying unless I’m the one in control.”
Buck shrugged, giving him an easy grin. “Makes sense. You’re used to being the guy behind the stick. Kind of weird to trust someone else to do the job.”
Tommy let out a soft laugh, nodding. “Exactly.”
Buck leaned closer, his eyes lighting up. “But you’ve got to admit, it’s kind of amazing to just sit back and think about how all this works. I mean, did you know that commercial planes—”
“—can fly even if one engine goes out?” Tommy interrupted; his tone slightly smug. He gave Buck a sidelong glance, his lips twitching into a grin. “Come on, Evan. I’ve been flying helicopters long enough to know a thing or two about rotors and wings—definitely more than you.”
Buck feigned offense, his hand still resting lightly in Tommy’s. “First of all, rude. Second of all, helicopters are completely different from planes. And third, this is my thing. You don’t get to outdo me in rambling about cool stuff.”
Tommy chuckled, leaning his head back against the seat. “Fine. You get this one. But only because I already know all the facts.”
“Oh, do you?” Buck shot back, leaning forward in challenge.
Tommy’s face lit up in a way Buck rarely saw. “Okay, look, I’ll give you this,” Tommy began, his tone shifting into the cadence of someone who truly loved what they were talking about. “Planes are efficient and all, but helicopters? They’re the real magic. Think about it—rotor blades generate lift, but they’re also responsible for propulsion. You’re balancing pitch, yaw, and roll all at the same time. It’s like juggling while standing on a tightrope during a windstorm.”
Tommy kept going, now diving into the mechanics of different flight systems and the nuances between military and civilian helicopters. “And then there’s autorotation recovery—people think it’s impossible, but if you’ve got the skill and focus—”
He suddenly trailed off, catching Buck’s gaze. Buck was staring at him, eyes twinkling and a soft smile curling his lips.
Tommy froze, blinking. “What?”
“What what?” Buck asked, his smile widening innocently.
Tommy’s cheeks turned pink. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Buck chuckled. “Nothing, I’m just listening.”
“Oh…” Tommy hesitated, his blush deepening. “Uh, yeah. Sorry.”
“Sorry? No, I like it. Come on, tell me more!” Buck urged, grinning. “But also, don’t be so biased about helicopters. I also need to know more about planes in general!”
Tommy’s lips twitched into a bashful smile before he nodded, launching back into his explanation with renewed enthusiasm. He gestured with his hands as he spoke, describing the differences in flight dynamics between fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, his voice growing more animated with each passing second.
Buck watched him, mesmerized by the way Tommy’s eyes lit up, the way his hands moved as though he could hardly contain his excitement. Finally, Buck raised a hand, halting Tommy mid-sentence.
“Wait a minute,” Buck said, leaning in. Before Tommy could ask why, Buck kissed him—a brief, warm press of lips that left Tommy blinking in surprise.
Buck pulled back just enough to grin at him. “I might be starting to understand why you never stop me when I ramble.”
Tommy’s smile grew, wide and unrestrained, and before Buck could say another word, Tommy leaned in and kissed him again—a quick, joyful press of lips that made Buck’s heart flip.
When Tommy pulled back, his voice was soft and full of warmth. “I love you.”
Buck blinked, his grin spreading even wider. And he said in a mock-surprise “You do?”
Tommy rolled his eyes, but the corner of his mouth tugged upward despite himself.
“Just making sure,” Buck teased, his tone light, as if he wasn’t already beaming. “Because I love you too.”
Tommy let out a laugh and without thinking, he brought their intertwined hands up, pressing a quick kiss to the back of Buck’s hand. The small gesture made Buck’s heart skip, but before he could say anything, Tommy leaned back, his grin turning playful. “Okay, so… does this mean I get to win the argument about helicopters being better?”
“Absolutely not,” Buck said, laughing as he bumped his shoulder against Tommy’s. “But I’ll let you try and convince me.”
He glanced at Buck, hesitant for a beat, then took a breath and continued where he left off. “Okay, fine. But since you’re so determined to make this a debate, let me explain why helicopters still have the edge—”
Buck interrupted with a mock groan, throwing his head back. “Oh, here we go again.”
Tommy just laughed, a bright, happy sound that filled the small space between them, and Buck couldn’t help but think that this—this—was his favorite sound in the world.

i don't know if you've already done this (if you have, i haven't seen it), but, how would the evans do with a girlfriend with a high sex drive? how many times a week, how many rounds, etc. i don't know if some of them could keep up-

i love this idea sm anon, kissing ur brain rn mwah
⟢ 𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐃𝐎𝐍.
tate wouldn’t exactly be keeping a tally, but he’d totally match your libido. it’s like he’d been waiting his whole (after)life for someone like you, so he’s not complaining. three times a day? no problem. repeat the same routine every day of the week? sign him up. he’s got nothing but time.
he’d thrive on the attention. tate’s got a lot of insecurities, and having someone who genuinely wants him that much? it’s a massive confidence boost, even if he doesn’t admit it. he’d also loves that it’s your idea most of the time—takes the pressure off him and makes him feel wanted.
verdict: several times a day, so it’s honestly hard to account for.
rounds/stamina: probably 2 rounds per session when he was alive, very clingy afterwards. as a ghost he can’t physically burn out, and he’s just as clingy so you’re in luck.
notes: tate wouldn’t just indulge your high libido—he’d love it and go along it.
⟢ 𝐊𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐑.
kit walker is 100% a giver—like, he’s all about making you happy. if you’re a nympho, he’d try his best to keep up. (plus he’s a horny mf too..)
sure, he might get tired after a long day at work, but if you look at him a certain way or tug him towards the bedroom, he’s done for. he might jokingly tease, “darlin’, you’re tryin’ to kill me,” but he’d always be down to fuck, no questions asked.
he’s so husband about it. he wouldn’t just go along with your needs—he’d cater to it. need him to be sweet and slow? check. want things a little more kinky? he’s on board. he’s the type of man to always check in with a soft, “this okay for you, baby?” and genuinely mean it.
he’s probably in awe of your energy. he might be embarrassed the first time he realises how…enthusiastic you are, but once he gets used to it, he’s all in. he’d see it as a sign of how much you love and trust him, which melts his heart every time.
if an “oops” happens, he’d take full responsibility and raise the baby with you lol.
while he’d try to keep up with you, there might be nights when he’s genuinely exhausted from work or parenting duties. in those cases, he’d pull you into his arms and offer a compromise: “how ‘bout i cuddle you tonight, and tomorrow, i’m all yours?” he’d always want to make you feel loved, even if he’s too tired to fully match your energy.
overall, kit would be so sweet and attentive, completely willing to cater to your needs while cherishing how much love and (spiritual + physical) connection you bring into his life.
verdict: he’d love to indulge you as often as you want, but realistically, it would average 6-7 times a week. kit is a family man who wants to make you happy, but he also has a job to manage.
rounds/stamina: 2–3 rounds per session. kit is physically fit and has great stamina but wouldn’t push himself to exhaustion. his priority is making sure you’re satisfied first and foremost.
notes: kit is all about making you feel loved and satisfied, but he’s also very attuned to your comfort. you guys might unintentionally add a new member to your family if you’re not careful—just saying lol (just hope you don’t get snatched by aliens)
⟢ pre death .ᐟ 𝐊𝐘𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑.
kyle spencer is the definition the golden retriever boyfriend—sweet, attentive, and always eager to make sure you’re happy (in every sense of the word).
as a frat boy who’s physically active (probably from intramural sports, he’s not a gym bro but still works out), kyle’s got the energy and endurance to keep up with you. if you’re in the mood, he’s down. and he’s definitely very thorough about making sure you’re satisfied—he lives for the gold-star boyfriend role.
there are definitely times when he’s more focused on studying or finishing up a project for class. during those moments, he’ll be sweet about letting you know: “babe, i have to hand in this paper tonight. rain check?”
he’s the kind of guy who’ll compromise, though. he might take a quick break from studying to give you some attention (a quickie or blowjob, depending on time), then dive back into his books after.
post-study reward ! if he’s been putting you off all day, he’ll make it up to you later with extra enthusiasm. kyle’s not the type to do things halfway, so when he does finally focus on you, it’s all about you.
verdict: 4–5 times a week. kyle is sweet and eager to please, so he’d do his best to keep up, even if it means sacrificing some of his study time.
rounds/stamina: 3–5 rounds per session.
⟢ 𝐉𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆.
jimmy has a naturally high sex drive and would match your energy without much hesitation. growing up in the freak show, he’s not exactly a stranger to their… unconventional lifestyles, so he’d embrace your enthusiasm wholeheartedly. “you wanna go again, doll? yeah, i can do that.”
despite his willingness, jimmy would draw a hard line when it comes to anyone else at the freak show getting involved, especially knowing how open and uninhibited the other performers can be about their sexual escapades. while he doesn’t judge them for their choices (cuz he low-key used to be like that), he makes it crystal clear that you’re his and only his.
as for elsa mars, jimmy knows how manipulative she can be and how far she’s willing to go for her ambitions. he’d be paranoid about her trying to use you in one of her schemes, especially after what happened with penny. he’d warn you about her, telling you to steer clear of any “favors” or “opportunities” she might offer.
he’d prioritize your needs above his own, even if it left him worn out. he’d take your super high sex drive as a challenge, always wanting to prove himself capable of keeping up with you. and he’d probably brag about it just a little.
verdict: 8–10 times a week. easy, no problem.
rounds/stamina: could keep up for least 2-3 rounds in a single session, especially when he’s well-rested. however, if he’s had a long day or is emotionally drained, one round might be all he has in him.
⟢ 𝐉𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇.
james patrick march is the definition of indulgence and excess, but he’s also a man of particular tastes and high standards—so an energetic, nympho of a partner would definitely be met with mixed feelings.
he’s indulgent, but not always approving: james would absolutely adore the attention and relish in how much you crave him—it would feed into his ego and his possessive streak.
however, he’s also a man of control, and your frequent advances might make him pause. “my darling, while i am most flattered by your… boundless enthusiasm, even i must draw the line somewhere.” (sometimes a man just wants to murder his hotel guests. let the man indulge in his hobby)
he’d appreciate your eagerness, but he’d always make it clear that he sets the terms. if he’s in the mood, he’ll more than rise to the occasion and keep you thoroughly occupied.
oh, when he decides it’s time, he’ll absolutely make you regret pestering him earlier. james is nothing if not thorough, and he’d turn your enthusiasm into a marathon session (picture that scene with the countess… yeah). “now, my darling, this is what happens when you beg a man of my caliber for attention.”
verdict: depends. i’d say at least 10 times a week if he’s really obsessed with you.
rounds/stamina: unlimited, technically. he’s a ghost and doesn’t have the physical limitations of the living. however, he might limit himself for your sake.
notes: james would enjoy your enthusiasm and entertain your requests pretty often. however, he’d insist on keeping things “in moderation” and not letting it interfere with his other pursuits (murder)
⟢ cult leader .ᐟ 𝐊𝐀𝐈 𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍.
okay, let’s be real—kai absolutely has the stamina to keep up with a nympho gf. dude’s wired on adderall and his own ego, so when he’s into it, he’s really into it. could probably go all night if he’s in the mood.
here’s the thing: kai’s got a lot on his plate—councilman duties, plotting world domination, a cult to run. so if you really pushed him, interrupted his plans one too many times, or just kept teasing him when he was trying to focus? he’d make you pay for it later—like, to the point where you can’t walk straight for days.
smug as hell about it too, tossing out things like, “maybe next time you’ll think twice before being such a needy little bitch, huh?”
but if he’s in a petty mood—or just wants to watch you suffer—he’d force you to hump his thigh while he’s not lifting a finger to help. or even outright forbid you to even touch yourself…and the bastard would enjoy every second of it.
but he’s not completely heartless, not when it benefits him. when he’s too busy to fully cater to you, he’ll let you sit on his lap and cockwarm him while he’s working at his desk. it’s his way of keeping you close while staying focused on his agenda.
if kai has a rare moment of downtime, you’re all he’s thinking about. he’d probably find your enthusiasm flattering (in an “of course you can’t resist me” kind of way) and give in with a casual, “alright, i’ll let you tire yourself out on my dick.”
verdict: 3–5 times a week. sometimes more. he’d only indulge your high sex drive when he has time and isn’t busy scheming or running his cult.
rounds/stamina: 3–4 rounds on average, but on rare occasions, he might go 5–6 rounds in one night just to prove a point.
notes: he’d alternate between indulging you until you’re begging for mercy and withholding just to torture you. a shitty boyfriend but the sex is bomb.

TASTE.
CHAPTER 2: SWEETBITTER.
Lee Know x reader. (s,a)
TASTE MASTERLIST
Synopsis: When Minho is hired as the head chef of Farfalle, a prestigious Italian restaurant, expectations are high for him to elevate its reputation and bring it to new heights. However, no one anticipates the drastic changes he implements in the kitchen—including his strict rule that that there'll be no women and no romance in his kitchen. (17,1k words)
Author's note: I hope you're hungry because I'm about to serve, well, Minho is, not me. Hope you enjoy this one too. Don't be shy to let me know what you think of this chapter ♡
Sweetbitter. /swēt-ˈbi-tər/ (adj) 1. being at once sweet and bitter 2. pleasant but including or marked by elements of suffering or regret
The memory creeps up on you like the scent of freshly baked bread—warm, comforting, and vivid.
It was three years ago, during the height of dinner service at a restaurant in Milan. You were buried in orders, swiftly plating bowls of tagliatelle and arranging perfectly browned gnocchi when the head chef approached, wiping his hands on his apron.
“A customer wants to personally thank you for the spinach lasagna,” he said, his tone equal parts surprise and pride.
You blinked. Normally, compliments like that were directed at the head chef, but this customer had been insistent about meeting the specific cook behind the dish. The words felt like a crown resting on your shoulders—the highest compliment any chef could receive.
Fixing your coat and smoothing back stray strands of hair, you stepped out of the bustling kitchen. The dining room was a sea of candlelight and muted conversation, and at first, all you could see was the back of the man who had requested your presence. His broad shoulders and casual posture told you little about him.
It wasn’t until you reached his table that he turned to face you.
“Are you the one who made this?” he asked, studying you with an unreadable expression.
“That would be me,” you replied, a polite smile on your lips.
For a moment, he said nothing, his dark eyes scanning your face as though trying to commit it to memory. Then he broke into a genuine smile, one that softened the sharp angles of his face.
“The spinach lasagna,” he began, “was incredible. Dare I say, it was better than sex.”
You froze, startled by the bluntness of his praise. Then, to your own surprise, you laughed—a warm, light sound that seemed to catch him off guard.
“Well,” you said, recovering, “that’s not something I hear every day.”
He chuckled softly, the dimples in his cheeks becoming more pronounced. “I’m Chris.” Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a sleek business card and handed it to you.
You glanced down at it, reading the elegant font: Christopher Bang.
“I own an Italian restaurant,” he said, his voice calm but persuasive. “I’d love for you to come work with me.”
The offer was so unexpected that you could only gape at him. “Why me?” you finally asked, looking back at him. “There are plenty of... talented chefs in the kitchen tonight.”
Chris leaned back in his chair, clasping his hands together as a dimpled smile spread across his face. “I don’t want them. I want you.”
Something about his casual confidence disarmed you. Perhaps it was the warmth in his voice or the sincerity in his eyes, but in that moment, you felt the ground shift beneath your feet.
You didn’t realize it then, but that moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Within weeks, you were on a flight to a new country, leaving behind the familiar comfort of Milan to work at Farfalle.
And now, standing in this restaurant facing him three years later, that memory feels both distant and fresh, a reminder of the strange and unexpected paths life can take.
-
The dining hall falls silent as Chris steps in, his imposing presence freezing everyone in place. The sleek black suit, the pale complexion, and the calm authority in his gaze demand undivided attention. Whispers ripple through the room, curiosity and disbelief mingling in hushed tones.
“I'll make it short,” Chris begins, his tone steady and authoritative. “I'm closing down the restaurant.”
“What did you say?” Taesoo blurts out in sheer panic.
Chris puts on a small smile and calmly explains. “I will close it down for three days, tentatively. ”
The room erupts in shock. Souschef Hyunwoo steps forward, his voice raised in protest. “What? You can’t close the restaurant during the busiest season! Do you know how much we’ll lose in revenue?”
Chris doesn’t flinch, meeting Hyunwoo’s gaze with a faint, composed smile. “I understand your concern. But this is necessary for the future of Farfalle.”
Felix raises a tentative hand. “So... what are we supposed to do for three days?”
Chris’s smile widens, almost playful. “Rest. Relax. Have fun... and after three days, I want everyone to come back with a new menu idea—a dish that can revive Farfalle. Every single one of you will participate, without exception.”
The room falls silent as everyone processes his words.
Chris continues, his voice unwavering. “However, there’s one condition: the total cost of ingredients for your dish cannot exceed ten dollars. Be creative, be bold, and think about what will make Farfalle stand out. The future of this restaurant depends on those menus.”
He lets the weight of his words settle before finishing with an easy, almost disarming smile. “I’ll see you all in three days.”
Without another word, Chris steps back, leaving the room with the same enigmatic presence with which he entered.
The staff exchange uncertain glances, whispers rippling through the group. Minho crosses his arms, his expression unreadable. After a moment, he straightens. “You heard him,” he says firmly, his gaze sweeping over everyone. “Three days. I’ll see all of you then.”
-
The hallway outside the manager's office is eerily quiet, the distant sounds of bustling staff fading behind you. You pause in front of the polished wooden door, taking a moment to compose yourself before knocking.
“Come in,” Chris’s voice calls out, calm and collected.
Pushing the door open, you step inside. The office is surprisingly minimalistic, dominated by a large desk and a single window that lets in soft, natural light. Chris sits behind the desk, his tailored black suit as sharp as his presence. His dimples appear as he smiles, clearly having anticipated your visit.
“I figured you’d come,” he says, gesturing for you to sit.
You take a seat, wasting no time. “I’m just as surprised as everyone else to see you here. Shouldn’t you be busy running the rest of your family’s empire?”
Chris leans back in his chair, his smile never faltering. “I’ve been keeping an eye on Farfalle for a while now. The sales have been on a downward spiral, and I decided it was time to step in. Sometimes you have to get your hands dirty to fix things properly.”
You nod slowly, absorbing his explanation. “So, this is personal for you?”
“In a way,” he admits, his tone light but resolute. “I couldn’t just stand by and let it crumble. Now, tell me,” he leans forward, his gaze teasing, “are you happy to see me?”
You let out a soft laugh, meeting his eyes. “It’s... nice to have another man in the restaurant.”
Chris chuckles, his dimples deepening. “Flattery suits you.”
He pauses, the teasing air around him softening. “Before you go, why don’t you cook me some pasta?”
You raise a brow, crossing your arms. “Nope.”
“Why not?” he asks, feigning offense.
“Because I’m going to do exactly what you suggested,” you reply with a sly grin. “Rest, relax, and have fun.”
Chris leans back in his chair, giving you an amused look. “Fair enough.” He gestures toward the door, silently excusing you.
You rise from your seat, heading toward the exit. Just as your hand touches the doorknob, Chris’s voice calls out again.
“Don’t have too much fun though,” he says, the teasing lilt in his voice unmistakable.
You glance back, offering a playful smirk. “No promises.” With that, you step out, leaving the office and its enigmatic new occupant behind.
-
The salty tang of the fish market fills your senses as you weave through the bustling aisles, stalls overflowing with fresh catches of the day. The cacophony of haggling customers and shopkeepers blends into a background hum as you scrutinize each stall, searching for ingredients that won’t break Chris’s strict $10 budget.
Your frustration grows as every inquiry leads to disappointment. Everything you find is either overpriced or unsuitable for the idea forming in your mind. Just as you’re about to give up, something catches your eye.
Minho stands a few stalls ahead, his sharp profile unmistakable even in the chaos of the market. He’s deep in conversation with a shop owner, his posture relaxed but commanding.
Curiosity piqued, you linger just out of sight, trying to catch snippets of their conversation. But the noise of the market drowns out their words. You watch as the shopkeeper gestures toward a selection of fish, and Minho nods thoughtfully before moving on.
The moment he leaves, you step up to the stall. “Excuse me, what was he asking about?” you inquire, gesturing toward Minho’s retreating figure.
The shopkeeper smiles knowingly. “Filefish. He was asking if I had any larger ones for a better price. Told him he’d have better luck at the harbor.”
Filefish? You tuck the information away, thanking the shopkeeper before turning to leave.
But as you make your way toward the exit, you freeze mid-step. Minho is there, leaning casually against a pole, arms crossed as if he’s been waiting for you. His eyes meet yours, a flicker of amusement playing across his face.
"Following me now?" he asks, his tone teasing but edged with curiosity.
You bristle, quickly recovering from your surprise. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
Minho smirks, clearly unconvinced. “So, what exactly are you doing here, then?”
You hesitate, debating whether to play coy or confront him about the filefish. Instead, you sidestep his question. “I could ask you the same thing.”
He shrugs, pushing off the pole and walking past you, his voice drifting back. “Just making sure the competition doesn’t get too comfortable.”
Before you can respond, he takes you by the hand and drags you out of the crowd.
-
The ride back is unexpectedly tense. Minho insisted on giving you a ride home, claiming it would save time, but the silence in the car is thick with unspoken words. You glance at him from the passenger seat, his profile lit by the soft glow of the dashboard.
“So,” you start, breaking the silence, “what are you planning to make for the new menu, chef?”
Minho doesn’t even look at you. “Not telling.”
You scoff, leaning back in your seat. “Why not? Afraid I’ll steal your idea?”
“Exactly,” he replies flatly, his hands gripping the steering wheel.
You roll your eyes but decide to take another approach. “Fine. I’ll tell you mine first. I’m thinking of making fishball pasta. Simple, creative, and within budget.”
Minho glances at you briefly, his expression unreadable. “Good for you.”
Encouraged by the lack of sarcasm in his tone, you press further. “Now your turn, chef.”
“Nope,” he says, his lips twitching with the hint of a smirk. “This is a competition. Why would I share secrets with a competitor?”
The car slows as he pulls up in front of your apartment building. He gestures toward the door. “We’re here. Get out.”
But you stay put, crossing your arms defiantly. “Not until you tell me what you’re making.”
Minho lets out an exasperated sigh, leaning his head back against the headrest. “You’re impossible.”
“And you’re stubborn,” you counter, flashing him a grin.
After a moment of tense silence, he relents, his tone reluctant. “Fine. I only need the filefish livers.”
Your eyes widen in surprise. “The livers? Why just the livers?”
“Because I’m making foie gras out of them,” he explains, his voice tinged with pride. “I want to show the true value of foie gras with it,”
Your gasp is audible, and Minho glances at you, his expression softening at the wonder in your eyes. “That’s… genius,” you breathe.
Minho almost smiles seeing your genuine awe in response to his answer but he hides his amusement, focusing instead on the road ahead. “Are you satisfied now? Get out.”
But instead of complying, you grab his arm, tugging at it lightly. “Wait. Hear me out.”
He raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “What now?”
“You don’t need the meat, and I don’t need the livers. If we work together, we can split the cost and stay within budget.”
Minho clicks his tongue, mulling over your suggestion. “Why should I work with you?”
“Because it makes sense,” you argue, meeting his gaze. “You said it yourself—this is a competition. Working together gives us both an edge. Plus, I know where to get bigger and cheaper filefish.”
He narrows his eyes at you, clearly debating the idea. After a moment, he sighs, shaking his head. “If I agree to this, will you finally get out of my car?”
You nod eagerly, a triumphant smile spreading across your face.
Minho pushes the car door open for you, his expression still skeptical. “We’re leaving tonight,” you announce as you step out. “At midnight.”
Minho shakes his head, a small smirk tugging at his lips as he watches you disappear into the building.
-
The afternoon feels like it’s slipping away too quickly. You plan to catch some rest before heading to the harbor around midnight, but just as you’re about to settle down, the doorbell rings. Frowning, you glance at the guest cam and see your property agent standing there. A flicker of hope rises—maybe he’s bringing good news about the apartment.
You open the door, your polite smile faltering slightly when you notice he isn’t alone. Beside him stands Sara, her expression calm but assessing as she looks past you into the apartment.
“Good afternoon,” the agent says cheerfully. “I thought I’d stop by to introduce someone interested in sharing the apartment.” He gestures to Sara, who steps forward with an elegant nod.
You blink, caught off guard. “Oh, I see. Well, come in.”
The two of them enter, and you close the door behind them, trying to process the situation. Sara doesn’t waste any time, walking through the living room and kitchen, her sharp eyes taking in every detail. Meanwhile, the agent glances at you with a knowing smile.
“She’s very interested,” he says in a low voice, as if this were the best news you’d heard all week.
Sara returns, stopping a few feet away from you and the agent. “I’ll take it,” she declares confidently.
You nod slowly, her decisiveness catching you off guard again. “Alright, then.”
She crosses her arms and adds with a small smirk, “It’s more convenient sharing with someone I already know.”
You force a smile at that, hoping it doesn’t look as strained as it feels. “That makes sense.”
Sara tilts her head, her gaze steady on yours. “Would it be alright if I move in tomorrow?”
“Even better,” you reply with as much enthusiasm as you can muster.
As the agent beams at how smoothly this is going, you feel a sinking sensation settle in your stomach. Once Sara leaves, the reality of the situation becomes clear.
Sharing an apartment with Sara might be manageable on its own, but the thought of Minho finding out she’s now living on the same floor as him sends alarm bells ringing in your mind. You don’t even want to think about what could happen if they run into each other.
And worse, you’re now stuck in the middle of it all.
-
Minho taps his fingers against the steering wheel, the faint rhythm of his impatience echoing in the quiet of his car. It’s been over ten minutes since the agreed-upon midnight meeting, and there’s still no sign of you. With a frustrated sigh, he picks up his phone and dials your number.
The phone rings once, twice, then he sees you sprinting down the street toward his car. He immediately hangs up, watching as you approach, your hurried steps matching the apologetic look on your face.
You slide into the passenger seat, breathless. “I’m so sorry. I fell asleep and—”
Minho raises a hand, cutting you off. “Save it. Let’s just go.”
But as you buckle your seatbelt, Minho notices something off. Your expression isn’t just apologetic—it’s troubled, like you’re carrying the weight of something you don’t want to share. For a moment, he debates calling you out on it but decides against it.
“Where are we going?” he asks instead, breaking the silence.
Without a word, you pull up the address on your phone and input it into the GPS. Minho glances at the screen, then back at you, eyebrows raised. “Hey! Don’t fall asleep on me.”
“I won’t,” you promise, your voice firmer than he expects.
The car rolls to a stop at the harbor after two hours of drive, its headlights cutting through the misty pre-dawn darkness. Minho turns off the engine and glances over at you, only to find you fast asleep in the passenger seat. Your head leans slightly against the window, your lower lip jutting out in a slight pout, and your brows knit together as if something is bothering you even in your dreams.
Minho rolls his eyes but can’t help the faint smile tugging at his lips. “So much for not falling asleep,” he mutters under his breath.
He sighs, exasperated, but he doesn’t have it in him to wake you. Instead, he sits back, letting his gaze linger on your peaceful face. For someone who could be so frustrating, you looked oddly…endearing like this. A small, unbidden smile tugs at the corners of his lips, but it vanishes the moment your eyes flutter open.
Caught off guard, Minho immediately looks away, pretending he hadn’t just spent the past few moments watching you sleep.
“Are we here?” you ask, your voice thick with sleep.
Minho’s response is immediate, his tone sharp to mask his embarrassment. “What did I tell you about not falling asleep on me?”
You rub your eyes and stifle a yawn, offering him a sheepish smile. “Sorry. I’ll treat you to coffee, okay? My treat.”
He grumbles but doesn’t protest, and the two of you end up at a small open food stall by the harbor, huddling against the chilly sea breeze with steaming cups of coffee in your hands. The dawn light begins to creep over the horizon, painting the sky in soft shades of pink and orange.
Minho takes a sip of his coffee and grimaces. “Seriously? This is what you call a treat? It’s cheap, and it tastes like burnt beans.”
You laugh softly. “I’ll buy you a better one later, promise.”
Without thinking, you scoot closer to him, seeking warmth against the brisk air. Minho stiffens slightly and shrugs his shoulder, half-heartedly pushing you away.
“Why do you like me so much?” he asks, his tone laced with mock annoyance.
Instead of answering, you cling to his side, resting your head against his shoulder. “And why do you hate me so much, chef?” you counter, looking up at him with playful defiance.
Minho blinks, taken aback, before responding quickly. “When did I ever say I hated you?”
You grin and lean in close to pester him. “So that means... you like me?”
He scoffs, feigning nonchalance. “Just drink your coffee!”
Your grin widens, and you cling even tighter to his side, the warmth of your smile radiating in the chill air. Minho glances at you from the corner of his eye, watching the way your eyes shine and how content you look pressed against him. For a moment, he lets himself smile, but when he realizes it, he quickly hides it behind his coffee cup.
The two of you sit in comfortable silence, watching as the sun rises over the horizon, its golden light reflecting on the gentle waves. Despite himself, Minho feels a warmth spreading in his chest, one that has nothing to do with the coffee or your proximity. It’s a moment he doesn’t quite understand yet, but it’s one he knows he won’t forget.
-
The harbor comes alive as ships return from the sea, their decks brimming with the morning’s catch. You stand by, watching Minho as he inspects the filefish, his sharp eyes scanning each one carefully. He negotiates with the fisherman, his tone calm yet firm, discussing the price for a box of the freshest catch.
For the first time in a long while, you see him not as the stern head chef you work with, but as the Minho you knew back in school. There’s a quiet confidence about him, a passion that flickers beneath the surface as he handles the fish with precision and care.
Once the transaction is complete and the box of filefish is secured, you suggest grabbing breakfast before heading back. Minho agrees—but only if you treat him.
You groan, shaking your head and putting on a pitiful look at him. “I just spent most of my money on those fish.”
Minho stops in his tracks and turns to you, giving you that look—the one he wears right before he’s about to scold you. You brace yourself, ready for his biting words, but instead, he asks, “How much money do you have left?”
You blink, surprised by the question, and quickly count the small bills in your pocket. After telling him the amount, he nods decisively. “Go buy some rice and sesame oil with it.”
Without questioning him, you hurry off and return shortly after, only to find Minho by the fisherman’s boat, expertly filleting a fish. His knife glides effortlessly through the flesh, each movement fluid and precise. For a moment, you’re mesmerized by the display of skill, and you can’t help but tease him.
“There’s nothing sexier than a man who knows how to use a knife,” you say with a grin.
Minho scoffs, his lips twitching in what could almost be a smile, he's above to shove the first slice of fish into his mouth but noticing the pitiful look on your face, he refrains and feeds it into your mouth. The taste is incredible—fresh, light, and briny, the fish melts the moment it touches your tongue.
“This is amazing,” you gush, savoring the flavor. You pick up another slice and hold it out to him. “Here, try it.”
He eyes the piece in your hand and glares at you. “I have hands. I can feed myself.”
Unbothered, you shrug and pop it into your mouth instead, grinning at the flavorful taste of fresh fish in your mouth. Meanwhile, Minho mixes the fish slices with the rice, adding a dollop of red chili paste and a drizzle of sesame oil. He stirs it all together with practiced ease before handing you a portion.
“Here. Your breakfast,” he says, his tone casual but expectant.
You take a bite, and your eyes widen. The dish is unbelievably good—simple yet bursting with flavor. “This is… exceptional. How is something so basic this good?”
Minho smirks, clearly pleased with your reaction but says nothing, turning his attention back to the fish.
As you finish the rice, you’re about to toss the fish bones and scraps into the trash, but Minho stops you. “What are you doing? Those aren’t trash.”
He grills the remaining pieces over a small fire, the aroma wafting through the crisp morning air. Together, the two of you sit by the water, sharing the grilled fish while the warm sun rises over the horizon. The view of the sea, paired with the comforting meal, makes everything feel oddly perfect.
Minho leans back, crossing his arms with a smug expression. “There. I just served you a full-course meal.”
You chuckle, nudging his arm. “Thank you, Chef. That was honestly amazing.”
Minho doesn’t respond, but there’s a softness in his gaze that wasn’t there before. Deep down, as you sit together, you can’t help but feel a quiet contentment—like, for this moment, everything is exactly as it should be.
-
The car hums softly as Minho drives, the early morning sun casting a warm glow over the horizon. You lean back against the seat, feeling the calm after the morning at the harbor. Your phone suddenly buzzes, the screen lighting up with an unknown number. You hesitate but decide to answer it, just in case it’s important.
“Hello?” you say cautiously.
“Hey,” Chris’s familiar voice immediately puts you at ease. “Just checking in to see how things are going with the preparations for the new menu.”
You smirk, unable to resist teasing. “Oh, everything’s going great. I’m actually at the seaside, having fun.”
Chris laughs, though there’s a knowing edge to it. “You’re not fooling me. Let me guess—you’re out there to get fresh ingredients for the new menu?”
“You’re to blame for this. You’re the one who set the budget for the ingredients so low.” You admit with a chuckle.
Chris laughs again, the sound warm and light. “Fair enough. Did you go by yourself?”
You hesitate, your gaze shifting to Minho, who keeps his eyes on the road. After a brief pause, you answer, “No. Chef came with me.”
There’s a brief silence on the other end before Chris replies, his tone neutral but slightly amused. “Convenient. I was just about to call him to come to the restaurant anyway.”
“Oh,” you say, surprised. “Anything important?”
Chris brushes it off. “Nothing urgent. Just let him know. Drive safe, alright?”
“Will do,” you reply, and the line goes dead.
You lower your phone, glancing at Minho. “Chris wants to see you at the restaurant.”
Minho glances at you briefly before focusing back on the road. “Why?”
“No idea,” you admit, shrugging.
The car falls into a moment of silence before Minho breaks it. “You seem close with Chris.”
His tone is casual, but there’s an undercurrent of curiosity. You glance at him, surprised by the observation. “Well... We’ve known each other for a while.”
Minho’s expression doesn’t change, but his grip on the steering wheel tightens slightly. It’s clear he has more questions, but he doesn’t voice them.
When you arrive at your apartment building, Minho pulls up to the curb and puts the car in park. He turns to you, gesturing toward the box of fish in the backseat. “Take the fish with you. Don’t put it in the freezer. Keep it in the icebox.”
You nod, opening the door and reaching for the box. “Got it.”
Per Minho’s instruction, you carry the icebox into the building, your arms straining slightly under the weight. The elevator ride is uneventful, but your mind buzzes with thoughts of the morning at the harbor and Chris's phone call. When you step into your apartment, you’re startled to see boxes and bags scattered around the living room.
Sara looks up from where she’s unpacking a box by the couch, her expression turning sheepish. “Oh, you’re back! I’m so sorry about the mess. I know I said I’d move in tomorrow, but the movers came early, and I didn’t want to miss the chance…”
You wave her off, smiling. “It’s fine, really. Don’t worry about it.”
Sara visibly relaxes and glances at the icebox in your hands. “What’s that? Where have you been?”
“To the harbor,” you reply, setting the box down on the kitchen counter. “Had to get fresh ingredients for the new menu.”
Curiosity sparks in her eyes as she walks over. “Can I see?”
You flip open the lid of the icebox, revealing an array of freshly caught filefish. Sara gasps, leaning in to inspect the contents. “Wow, that’s a lot of fish! Are all of these yours?”
You chuckle, shaking your head. “Not just mine. Some of them are chef’s.”
At that, Sara’s gaze snaps to you, surprise flashing across her face. “You went to the harbor with Minho?”
“Yeah,” you say casually, closing the lid. “It was for the new menu, so we had to split the cost.”
Sara raises an eyebrow, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. “Interesting.”
You roll your eyes at her expression but decide to let it slide. Before you can say anything else, Sara places a hand on your shoulder. “You should get some rest. You must be exhausted after the trip.”
You sigh, realizing how heavy your limbs feel now that she’s mentioned it. “Yeah, I think I’ll do that.”
“Good,” Sara says with a smile. “I’ll finish unpacking quietly, don’t worry.”
You nod and head toward your room, leaving the icebox on the counter for later. As you close the door behind you, the events of the day replay in your mind, making it hard to decide what to focus on—Chris’s call, the morning at the harbor, or now that you've officially in between Sara and Minho, literally and figuratively.
-
Minho strides into the restaurant, his expression set in a familiar scowl. It’s quiet this early in the day, with no staff bustling like usual. He heads toward the coffee station and finds Chris already there, calmly preparing a cup of coffee.
“You’re here,” Chris greets, glancing at Minho as he places a cup under the espresso machine. “Sit down. I’ll make you a coffee, chef.”
Minho hesitates but eventually drops into the chair across from Chris, his arms crossed. He watches as Chris works efficiently, his movements smooth and unhurried. The quiet confidence in Chris’s demeanor rubs Minho the wrong way, frustrating him further.
Minho’s fingers tap against the table, breaking the silence. “I’ll be honest—I wouldn’t have taken this job if you were the one who offered it to me.”
Chris smirks faintly as he places a steaming cup of coffee in front of Minho. He them takes the opposite seat, his expression unchanging. “That’s funny because I wouldn’t have offered it to you.”
Minho blinks, slightly taken aback. “Huh?”
Chris leans back, resting his elbows on the chair's armrests. “You’re talented, no doubt. But I knew you’d be... difficult. Still, we’re here now, working together, so let’s just do our best.”
Chris offers his hand, a gesture of truce. Minho eyes it warily before finally grasping it for a firm shake. “Fine. But don’t think this means we’re friends.”
Chris chuckles lightly and pulls his hand back. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
Chris shifts the conversation. “How was the harbor trip? Did you get the ingredients you needed?”
Minho nods, the memory of the fresh fish he brought back crossing his mind. “I did. The quality is excellent. I’m confident about the competition.”
Chris raises a brow, impressed. “Since you have good ingredients and confidence, you are exempt from the contest. Tomorrow, there's a charity dinner at W hotel. We've been invited to participate.”
Minho tilts his head and narrows his eyes at him. “Whether it is to compete or work or cook, you're telling that I have to follow your orders without complaints?”
Chris puts on a faint smile and takes a sip of his coffee before continuing. “I know it's a charity dinner but all the participating chefs are from 5-star hotels and the winner is decided by who sold the most plates. This is a competition on who has the most confidence that they made the best dish which also makes it a good opportunity to boost Farfalle’s reputation.”
Minho leans back, considering it. He knows the importance of publicity for the restaurant, but the idea of being pushed into the spotlight annoys him. Still, he nods. “For the sake of the restaurant, I’ll do it.”
Chris smiles approvingly. “Glad to hear it.”
Minho starts to rise, thinking the conversation is over, but Chris stops him. “One more thing.”
“What now?” Minho asks, irritation creeping into his voice.
“Chef Sara wants to compete with her version of the new menu,” Chris says casually, as though it’s no big deal.
Minho groans, leaning forward. “Why? The kitchen doesn’t need unnecessary competition.”
Chris shrugs. “You’re confident in your cooking, right? Then you shouldn’t be worried about it.”
Minho narrows his eyes. He finally sees Chris’s management style clearly—it’s about pushing boundaries, challenging people, and doing whatever he thinks will benefit the restaurant, no matter how it ruffles feathers.
“You’re something else,” Minho mutters as he stands. He gives him a long look before turning toward the door. “Do whatever you want. It’s your restaurant after all.”
Minho was having a great day until he met Chris but his day takes another downturn when he spots Sara walking towards her car. It takes a second for her to notice him back, her face lighting up with a smile that only irritates him further.
“Minho,” she greets cheerfully. “I’m looking forward to seeing your new dish tomorrow.”
Minho halts in his tracks, crossing his arms as he levels her with a sharp gaze. “Don’t get your hopes up. You’re no match for me.”
Sara’s smile doesn’t falter, her confidence unwavering. “We’ll see about that. I’ve been waiting a long time to cook with you again.”
He scoffs, narrowing his eyes at her. “You haven’t changed a bit. You still think cooking is all about competition.”
Sara tilts her head, an air of calm defiance surrounding her. “Maybe I have, maybe I haven’t. You’ll see soon enough.”
She turns to leave, but Minho isn’t finished. A realization strikes him, and he pivots on his heel, his voice cutting through the quiet. “It won’t be as easy as you think. You’ll have to beat her first.”
Sara stops, glancing over her shoulder with a raised brow. “Her? Who?”
“You know exactly who I mean,” Minho says, his voice laced with confidence. “If you think you can win against her, go ahead and try.”
Sara chuckles softly, shaking her head. “Are you saying that I'll be losing to a junior cook? Don’t make me laugh, Minho.”
Minho steps closer, a devilish smirk playing on his lips as he says, “Cooking is unpredictable. That’s what makes it fun, don't you think?”
Her expression stiffens for a moment, but she quickly regains her composure. “You’d better prepare for tomorrow. I won’t hold back.”
Minho’s smirk deepens as he leans in slightly. “I can’t wait to see your face when you lose to her.”
Without another word, he turns and strides toward the elevator, leaving Sara standing by her car, her calm exterior showing a faint crack.
As Minho steps into the elevator, a renewed determination fuels him. He’s not about to let Sara’s arrogance go unchallenged. If she underestimates you, she’ll regret it.
The elevator dings, signaling his arrival at his floor. He wastes no time heading straight to your apartment, his steps quick and purposeful. He presses the doorbell, and when you open the door, slightly confused by his sudden appearance, he doesn’t waste a second.
“Grab the ice box,” he orders firmly.
You blink at him, taken aback. “What? Why?”
“No time for questions,” he says, already turning on his heel. “Bring it and follow me.”
Reluctantly, you do as he says, hauling the ice box and trailing after him down the hallway. He leads you to his apartment, opening the door and gesturing for you to step inside.
“What’s going on?” you ask, still confused.
Minho’s eyes glint with determination as he shuts the door behind you. “We’re working on your recipe. You’re going to win tomorrow.”
-
Stepping into Minho’s apartment for the first time, you’re momentarily distracted by its minimalistic design and subtle charm. But before you can properly take it in, Minho pulls you toward the kitchen, his grip firm on your wrist.
“Put the ice box there,” he commands, gesturing toward the counter.
You do as he says, placing it down gently. Turning to face him, you wait for whatever instructions he’s about to give. Minho stands across from you, his expression unreadable as his sharp eyes study you in silence.
“What?” you ask nervously, breaking the stillness.
He finally speaks, his voice as cold as his gaze. “You need to have the determination to beat me.”
You blink, confused, and let out a nervous chuckle. “Beat you? That’s impossible.”
His face doesn’t change. The coldness remains, and your chuckle falters. “Wait... you’re serious?”
“Yes,” Minho replies flatly. “How can you even hope to compete if you don’t believe you can win?”
“But it’s you,” you mumble, still baffled. “How can I beat you?”
He interrupts, taking a step closer. The gap between you shrinks, and your breath catches as his piercing gaze locks onto yours. “How do you plan to be a chef without a competitive spirit?”
The intensity of his question and proximity make you look down, overwhelmed. Before you can respond, you feel his hands grip your shoulders, firm and commanding. His voice rises, filled with frustration and urgency.
“I can do it. Posso farcela!” he shouts, his eyes blazing with an almost contagious fire.
You blink at him, unsure of what he’s trying to do. “What does that even—”
“Say it,” Minho insists, shaking your shoulders slightly. “Everyone has their shining moment. Even you. But only if you believe it. Posso farcela!”
Without waiting for your consent, he leans in until his forehead presses firmly against yours. The sudden closeness sends a shiver through you, and your heart races. With Minho, you can’t really tell if you should be scared or excited by the proximity. His voice softens but remains commanding. “Say it.”
Hesitating, you whisper, “Posso farcela.”
“Louder!” he demands, his grip tightening.
“Posso farcela!” you shout at the top of your lungs.
Finally, Minho steps back, a small, satisfied smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He releases your shoulders and nods. You’re still catching your breath when he turns to the counter, pulling out ingredients and utensils. “You’re staying here tonight,” he announces matter-of-factly.
“Wait, what?”
“You heard me,” he says, his tone leaving no room for argument. “We’re practicing all night. Don’t even think about going home.”
A chill runs down your spine—not just from his words, but from the realization that you’ll be cooking with him all night. Somehow, this is far from how you ever imagined spending the night at his apartment.
-
The warm lights of Minho’s kitchen illuminate the room as the two of you work side by side. You’re focused on molding the fish mixture into small, round balls, while Minho is pan-searing fish liver with precision. The sizzle of the pan fills the silence between you, and the savory aroma teases your senses.
Every now and then, you find yourself glancing at Minho. There’s something hypnotic about the way he moves—the effortless way he tilts the pan without spilling, the fluidity of his knife work, the sharp focus in his gaze as he perfects every detail. Even in casual clothing, Minho radiates charisma. His dark sweater hugs his frame, accentuating his broad shoulders, while his rolled-up sleeves reveal veined forearms that flex with every movement.
Your admiration is cut short as Minho suddenly turns toward you, his sharp eyes locking onto your work. Without a word, he strides over and pokes one of your molded fishballs with his finger. It crumbles immediately.
His glare pierces you. “It’s too crumbly,” he states coldly. “Do it again.”
You nod meekly, murmuring, “Yes, Chef,” and begin adjusting the mixture.
Moments later, he scolds you again. “Why are these so small? They’ll fall apart when you fry them. Do it again.”
You gulp and obey, reforming the fishballs to a larger size.
It doesn’t take long before you’re on the receiving end of another critique. “You’re frying them wrong,” Minho snaps, stepping in to demonstrate. He moves with efficiency, ensuring the fishballs are evenly browned and perfectly cooked. Watching him, you can’t help but feel inadequate but also in awe of his skill.
Finally, the first batch is done, and you nervously wait as Minho takes a bite. Your stomach sinks as he spits it out into the sink almost immediately.
“This is terrible,” he says bluntly, glaring at you. “Too much egg and breadcrumbs. I can’t even tell if it’s made from fish or chicken.” His tone sharpens.
“What was the point of driving all the way to the seaside if this is what you’re going to make? Do it again.”
You nod quickly, muttering another shaky “Yes, Chef,” and get back to work.
After a couple more failed attempts, you finally feel a sliver of hope. You’ve followed every piece of advice Minho has given, and this batch feels like your best yet. But the hope is short-lived as Minho spits it out once more, his glare now blazing.
“Are you trying to kill me?” he barks, holding up a small piece of fishbone he found in his bite. “You left a bone in it!”
You freeze, guilt and embarrassment washing over you.
“What are you standing there for?” he snaps, crossing his arms. “Get back to the kitchen and do it again.”
Minho leaves the kitchen, your eyes following him taking his coat and puts it on. He turns to you as he informs,
“I’m going out, and when I get back, I expect you to have this perfected.”
With that, Minho storms out, leaving the apartment in silence. You let out a long, shaky breath the moment the door closes. Setting down your utensils, you wander into the living room and collapse onto the sofa, burying your face in your hands. Exhaustion weighs on you like a heavy blanket, and frustration simmers beneath the surface.
The silence in Minho’s apartment is deafening, broken only by the soft hum of the refrigerator. Exhausted and at your wit's end, you pull your phone from your pocket and stare at the screen, debating whether to make the call. It’s ridiculously early, but if there’s anyone who can help you, it’s your dad. After all, he’s been running his bakery for as long as you can remember, and you know he’s probably already in the kitchen preparing the first batch of bread.
You dial his number, pacing anxiously as the phone rings.
“Hello?” your father answers, his voice slightly groggy but steady.
“Dad,” you say in a rush, “I regret going to culinary school. This was the worst decision I ever made.”
There’s a pause before your father sighs heavily. “I told you this would happen. Cooking isn’t just some romantic idea—you need grit and perseverance, and clearly, you don’t have enough of either.”
His words sting, but you expected nothing less.
“Why are you calling me so early, huh? Shouldn’t you be sleeping off your regrets?”
You groan, leaning against the counter. “I need help. I’m working on this recipe, and I can’t get the chewy texture I need for fishballs. I’ve tried everything, but nothing works!”
Your father grumbles something under his breath before asking, “Alright, what are you putting in the mixture?”
You quickly list off the ingredients, your voice rapid and desperate.
“Are you using potato starch?” he interrupts.
“Yes,” you reply, blinking.
“Check it,” he orders. “Make sure it’s 100 percent potato starch.”
His words give you pause, and you dash to the kitchen, grabbing the package of potato starch from the counter. You scan the label, your stomach sinking as you read: 92 percent potato starch.
“Dad,” you say, your voice small, “it’s only 92 percent.”
“Unbelievable!” your father exclaims. “How do you expect to get the texture you want if it’s not 100 percent? You’re sabotaging yourself! Go and get proper potato starch!”
“But—”
“No buts! You’re wasting your time otherwise. Fix it.” His tone leaves no room for argument.
“Thanks, Dad,” you mutter before hanging up. You stare at the package in your hand, a newfound determination building in your chest. You don’t know when Minho will be back, but you’re certain of one thing: you’re going to perfect this recipe before he walks through that door.
You take a deep breath, head back to the kitchen, and prepare to start over—this time with the right approach.
-
The sun is beginning to rise, casting a soft glow over the city as you step out of Minho’s apartment. The cool morning air brushes against your skin, a stark contrast to the warmth of the kitchen where you’ve spent the entire night. You’ve left your dish on his dining table, hoping it meets his impossible standards, and now you’re longing for a moment of peace.
When you arrive at your own apartment, you’re met with the sight of chaos in the kitchen—ingredients scattered, utensils abandoned mid-use, and remnants of Sara’s late-night preparations everywhere.
Your eyes move to the couch, where Sara is curled up, her head resting on her arm. The sound of your footsteps stirs her awake, and she looks at you groggily.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you,” you say, feeling a bit guilty.
Sara stretches and shakes her head, offering a small smile. “It’s okay. I was about to get up anyway.”
Feeling a pang of sympathy, you ask, “Would you like some coffee? I could use a cup myself.”
Her smile widens, and she nods. “That would be nice.”
A few minutes later, the two of you sit together in the living room, cradling mugs of freshly brewed coffee. The morning is quiet, save for the faint hum of the city waking up outside.
You glance toward the kitchen, breaking the silence. “You must’ve been busy prepping for your TV program.”
Sara doesn’t respond immediately. Instead, she takes a sip of her coffee and then looks at you with a faintly amused expression. “Were you at Minho’s place all night?”
Her question catches you off guard, and you pause mid-sip. You're aware that Sara knows more than she lets on. You sigh, nodding in acknowledgment.
“Have you tried his new dish?”
You shake your head. “Hardly.”
“He's like that. He won't let anyone taste it until it's perfect.” Sara softly smiles as she says it as if she's reminiscing something.
“Must've been fun though,” she adds with genuine envy in her eyes.
You scoff at that and cradle your cup of coffee in both hands. “Fun? I got scolded all night.”
Sara chuckles softly, her gaze distant. “Still, cooking with someone else is always less tiring. And it's more fun.”
Her words hang in the air, and you can’t help but wonder if there’s more meaning behind them. Does she miss cooking with Minho? Since she won the contest, there are two possibilities: It's either she gives the recipe to the restaurant or she's taking the responsibility of this dish herself in the kitchen. Honestly, you can’t imagine the latter. Having two chefs in one kitchen is one thing but two chefs who shared a complicated past? That's a recipe for disaster.
You shake the thought away, deciding it’s not your place to dig deeper into their shared history. Draining the last of your coffee, you stand and offer her a small smile. “I should get some rest before the contest. Good luck with your cooking today.”
She looks up at you, her smile soft. “You too.”
-
The familiar sounds of clattering pans and bubbling pots fill the air as you step into the bustling kitchen. For the first time in a while, you feel an odd sense of comfort here—like you’ve missed this chaos, missed the kitchen itself. Looking around, it’s clear that everyone else feels the same. The team looks rejuvenated from their break, their energy palpable as they chatter excitedly about the upcoming contest.
Your thoughts are interrupted by Felix bounding into the room, his face glowing with excitement. His freckles seem brighter than usual, standing out against his sun-kissed skin.
“Someone’s been having fun,” you tease, smiling as he joins you at your station. “Where’d you go?”
Felix grins, his boyish charm making it impossible not to smile back. “Oh, just somewhere fun,” he replies cryptically, his eyes twinkling.
You roll your eyes but let it slide. “Are you ready for the contest?”
“Absolutely,” he says with a confident nod, and you hold out your fist. He meets it with a firm bump, a gesture of mutual encouragement.
The room falls quiet as Chris enters, his demeanor as calm and collected as ever, his enigmatic smile adding an edge to his presence. “Alright, everyone,” he announces, his voice cutting through the silence. “You may begin cooking your new menu items. Good luck.”
You glance around the kitchen as everyone springs into action, but one thing—or rather, one person—is missing. Minho.
“Where’s Minho?” you ask Felix, lowering your voice so as not to draw attention.
Felix shrugs, his expression unbothered. “Probably using the other kitchen. It’s pretty packed in here.”
His explanation makes sense, but a small pang of unease lingers. You shake it off and refocus on your task. You’ve come too far and worked too hard to let anything distract you now.
As you begin preparing your dish, the words Minho drilled into you all night echo in your mind: “Posso farcela!”
You whisper the phrase to yourself, almost as a mantra, channeling it into every movement. Confidence surges through you as you remind yourself why you’re here—to create something incredible and to prove, most of all to yourself, that you can do this.

The dining hall buzzes with energy as chefs carry their meticulously prepared dishes to the tables for judging. You’re no different, your dish carefully balanced in your hands, though a nagging thought occupies your mind: Where is Minho?
You’re not the only one wondering. Whispered speculations ripple through the room, the tension thick in the air. The door opens, and your heart leaps with hope, expecting Minho to stride in after Chris. Instead, your breath catches in your throat.
It’s not Minho. It’s Chef Sara.
Her poised figure glides into the room, her sharp gaze scanning the crowd before briefly landing on you. You offer her a hurried, polite smile, masking your shock and the storm of questions swirling in your mind. Why is she here?
She doesn’t need this contest. She’s already at the pinnacle of her career—a celebrated chef with a regular TV program, several bestselling cookbooks, and fame most chefs only dream of. So why?
The answer flickers at the edges of your mind, but you refuse to acknowledge it. Chris claps his hands, pulling everyone’s attention to the front. His calm, commanding presence stills the murmurs in the room.
“I have something to inform you before we begin,” he begins, his voice steady, “unfortunately, Chef Lee will not be joining us today due to special circumstances.”
You blink, the news hitting harder than you expect. Your stomach sinks as you try to imagine what could have kept Minho away.
“But,” Chris continues smoothly, “Chef Sara will be stepping in to compete instead.”
A ripple of surprise sweeps through the room. You’re no exception, your mind reeling as you watch Sara move to her station with a confidence that makes her presence feel larger than life.
Chris doesn’t leave room for more speculation. “Let me explain how the contest will proceed.”
He goes on to detail the rules. The first round involves the service staff tasting and voting for the three best dishes to move on. In the second round, fifty selected guests of Farfalle will taste the top three dishes and vote for the winner.
“The winning dish,” Chris says, his enigmatic smile returning, “will become the new main menu of Farfalle. The winning chef will not only oversee this dish in the kitchen but will also earn incentives from its sales.”
That last part immediately ignites a spark in the room. Chefs exchange glances, excitement crackling at the mention of money. You can’t help but smile, impressed by Chris’s ability to up the stakes and turn the contest into something electrifying.
Chris scans the room, his gaze settling briefly on you before moving on. “Good luck,” he says simply.
And with that, the contest begins.
-
The second round feels surreal. Though you expected to make it this far, the reality of going up against Chef Sara and Sous Chef Seojun feels daunting. You’re torn between pride and the sinking pressure of the competition.
From the second floor of the dining hall, you lean against the railing, watching as the selected guests taste the dishes below. Your nerves flutter, every movement of the tasters amplified in your mind.
Lost in thought, you barely notice Sara standing beside you until she speaks.
“You must’ve been surprised to see me here,” she says softly, her tone almost apologetic.
You glance at her, offering a polite smile. “Just a little.”
“I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable,” she explains, her gaze sincere.
You shake your head. “I’m not uncomfortable at all. Honestly… I’m no match for you anyway.”
Sara chuckles, but her expression turns serious. “You’d be surprised. I’m actually nervous because of you.”
Her words catch you off guard, and you laugh, assuming she’s trying to lift your spirits. “Sure, Chef. Nice try.”
“I’m serious,” she insists, her eyes unwavering.
Your smile falters slightly, a flicker of gratitude warming your chest. “I’m just glad I made it to the second round,” you admit, brushing off her words even as they linger in your mind.
Sara gives you an encouraging nod before stepping away. As you head back toward the kitchen, your phone buzzes. You fish it out of your pocket, your heart skipping a beat when you see Minho’s name.
“Posso farcela!”
A second message follows almost immediately.
“I’ll be there soon. Posso farcela!”
A smile tugs at your lips before you realize Chris is nearby, watching you with an amused expression. You quickly shove your phone back into your pocket, your cheeks warming under his gaze.
“What’s with that look?” Chris teases.
“Nothing!” you protest, flustered.
Chris smirks, his sharp pinstripe suit somehow making him look even more teasingly intimidating. The tailored fit accentuates his broad shoulders and lean frame, making it hard not to admire him. But nothing is as charming as his dimpled smile as he aims it towards you.
“Looking sharp,” you comment, trying to deflect.
He raises an eyebrow as he pulls a hand out of his slacks pocket. “Complimenting me won’t help you win.”
You chuckle and start walking toward the kitchen. “But it’s worth a shot.”
Chris steps closer, his tone light but curious. “Do you think you’ll win?”
“I have to be confident,” you reply with a shrug. “Besides, I’ve got nothing to lose.”
He nudges your shoulder playfully. “Well, if you do win, you owe me dinner.”
The warmth of his words makes your chest tighten in a good way. He actually has faith in you and he makes it sounds possible for you to win the contest.
“Deal,” you say, smiling.
He stops on his track and grabs your shoulder. Swiftly, he turns your body to the side, making you face him. He leans closer, his brown eyes softly gazing into your eyes. “Don't tell anyone but I'm rooting for you.” He whispers, not wanting everyone else to hear that he's biased.
You smile in genuine gratitude. “Thanks, Chris.”
As Chris walks away, you take a deep breath, feeling a renewed sense of determination. With encouragement from both Minho and Chris, you can’t afford to let your nerves get the better of you now.
-
Anticipation filled the dining hall as everyone gathers one last time for the night. The air is electric with nervous excitement, and you feel the weight of the moment settling in your chest. You tell yourself not to get your hopes up, but the thought of impressing Minho lingers, making your heart race.
Chris steps into the room, his confident stride and easy smile drawing everyone's attention. "Thank you all for your hard work on this new menu," he begins, his tone warm and genuine.
Without much preamble, he announces, "The two popular dishes from tonight are… the fishball pasta and Chef Sara’s triple-flavored pasta."
Your breath catches, a small spark of hope igniting within you. As expected, you made it this far. Maybe Minho’s mantra really did work wonders. You glance at Sous Chef Seojun, who wears a strained expression. Noticing his disappointment, you gently pat his shoulder and offer him an encouraging smile.
The room quiets as the door opens, and Minho strides in, his presence commanding instant attention. He surveys the room briefly before focusing on Chris, who grins and announces, "Chef Lee will be our tiebreaker tonight. I believe he’s the most unbiased person for the job."
Minho raises an eyebrow but nods, accepting the role without complaint. He takes his seat at the head of the table, signaling you and Chef Sara to bring your dishes forward.
You carefully place your plate in front of him, trying to keep your hands steady. Chef Sara does the same, her usual poise shining through. Stepping back, you wait as Minho begins tasting the dishes.
You can’t stop yourself from nervously playing with the edge of your apron as Minho takes a deliberate bite of your pasta. His expression is unreadable, his focus entirely on the food. He moves on to Chef Sara’s pasta, taking his time with each bite.
Finally, Minho sets his fork down and rises from his seat, commanding the room’s attention. He looks at you first, his gaze steady and thoughtful.
He calls your name first, his tone softer than usual. "You’ve done a good job."
A smile creeps onto your face, unbidden but genuine. Coming from Minho, that acknowledgment feels like a win in itself.
"You managed to maintain the sweetness and softness of the fish very well," he continues, his voice measured. "I noticed you used the least amount of eggs and breadcrumbs in your batter, which is commendable. It shows skill."
You bask in his words for a brief moment before he shifts his focus to Chef Sara.
"Chef Sara," Minho begins, his tone shifting to one of professional admiration. "Your dish is intriguing—a ravioli with a mysterious filling and a combination of two sauces that could have been disastrous. But you balanced it beautifully. I’m genuinely impressed."
Chef Sara beams at his praise, thanking him warmly.
Minho pauses, his gaze sweeping the room. "Cooking," he says, "is more than just technique. It’s dynamic. It should seduce whoever is holding the fork and knife."
He turns back to you, his expression gentle but firm. "Your dish is good, but it lacks that seduction. It doesn’t quite pull the diner in the way it should."
Your smile falters ever so slightly, the sting of his words hitting harder than you expected.
Chris breaks the momentary silence by asking, "So, does that mean Chef Sara wins?"
Minho nods, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Yes. The winner is Chef Sara."
The room erupts in applause as Chef Sara steps forward, her confidence radiating as she graciously accepts the title. You force a smile, clapping along with the others.
"Congratulations," you manage to say to her, your voice steady despite the pang of disappointment in your chest.
Sara thanks you with a warm smile, her sincerity softening the moment. As the night winds down, you remind yourself that second place is still an accomplishment. But deep down, you can’t shake the lingering ache of wanting more—not just for yourself, but to make Minho proud.
-
Minho sits in Chris’s office, his arms crossed as he waits with thinly veiled impatience. He checks the clock on the wall, nearly rolling his eyes as the door finally swings open. Chris enters first, his usual air of ease intact, followed closely by Chef Sara.
Sara takes the chair across from Minho without hesitation, her posture relaxed but alert. Chris leans casually against his desk, his eyes flicking between the two.
“Well,” Chris begins, clapping his hands together, “since Chef Lee chose the Triple-flavored Pasta, I thought it’d be a good idea for the two of you to discuss the details—preparation, launch timeline, all that fun stuff. Once you’ve reached a decision, let me know.”
Minho barely acknowledges Chris’s words, instead leveling him with a pointed look. “Can we have some privacy?”
Chris raises an eyebrow but doesn’t argue. “Sure,” he says simply, pushing off the desk and heading for the door. “Play nice.” He closes the door behind him, leaving the room weighted with tension.
Minho leans back slightly, his gaze cold and calculating as it settles on Sara. “Congratulations,” he says, the chill in his tone making it sound more like an obligation than genuine praise. “Now, let’s get straight to the point. I’ll need your recipe for the kitchen.”
Sara doesn’t flinch under his scrutiny. “No,” she says flatly.
Minho’s eyes narrow. “No?”
“That’s right,” she replies, her tone calm but firm. “I’m not giving my recipe to the kitchen.”
Minho leans forward slightly, the air around him growing sharper. “Are you suggesting you plan to come here and prepare the dish yourself?”
Sara meets his gaze without hesitation. “Why not?” she counters. “I can’t do that?”
A scoff escapes Minho’s lips, followed by a malicious smirk. “You’re delusional if you think I’ll let that happen.”
Sara crosses her arms, unfazed. “It’s my privilege as the contest winner. You knew that when you chose my dish—or did you misunderstand?”
The smirk on Minho’s face falters, replaced by a flicker of irritation. “You have other places you can go,” he says, his tone clipped. “Places you can pick and choose at your leisure. You don’t have to be here.”
Sara smiles, calm and deliberate. “But I like it here.”
Minho’s frustration bubbles over, his voice lowering dangerously. “Let me remind you of one thing: I didn’t choose your dish because you’re welcomed in my kitchen.”
Sara’s smile doesn’t waver. “And let me remind you,” she says, her voice steady and unwavering, “that if you want my recipe, you’ll have to accept me in your kitchen first.”
The room grows silent as their gazes lock, a battle of wills unfolding with neither showing any sign of backing down. The air between them is charged, the tension so thick it feels almost tangible.
It’s a stalemate, and for now, neither of them is willing to yield.
-
You move through the locker room like a machine, your mind distant as your hands go through the motions of changing. Shrugging into your jacket, you’re startled when Felix suddenly appears, leaning casually against the locker beside yours.
His eyes study you, his easygoing demeanor not quite masking his concern. He crosses his arms together then lets out a sigh. “How cheeky of Sara to just waltz in and steal first place like that.”
A small smile tugs at your lips of Felix’s effort to cheer you up, but it doesn’t reach your eyes. “I didn’t really stand a chance anyway.”
Felix smirks knowingly, leaning closer. “Don’t act like you like her. We both know we don’t like her, and neither does Minho.”
You snap your locker shut, slinging your bag over your shoulder. “If Minho hates her so much, why did he choose her as the winner?”
Felix falters, clearly caught off guard by the question. He opens his mouth as if to reply but stops, unable to come up with an answer.
You smile faintly, brushing past him. “Night, Felix.”
Leaving the locker room, you head toward the restaurant’s exit, your footsteps heavy with exhaustion. Just as you near the door, Chris’s familiar figure comes into view, his signature dimpled smile lighting up his face as he falls into step beside you.
“Where are you taking me for dinner?” he asks, his tone playful.
You blink at him, puzzled. “I didn’t win, remember?”
Chris’s grin widens as if he’s caught you in a trap. “Second place is still a win,” he counters smoothly. “And you promised me dinner, didn’t you?”
You let out a soft laugh, unable to argue against his infallible logic—or his charm. His gaze is warm, his smile unwavering as he looks at you, and for a moment, the disappointment from earlier feels like a distant memory.
“Fine,” you say, relenting with a smile of your own. “But I get to choose where we’re going.”
Chris nods eagerly, his dimples deepening. “Deal.”
Without warning, he gently takes your hand, leading you toward the parking area. His touch is light, but his presence is grounding, and you feel your mood lifting with every step.
Maybe a night out with Chris is exactly what you need to forget the tension of the contest—even if just for a little while.
-
It’s only been a minute but Chris is already struggling. His low groans and muttered complaints don’t go unnoticed as you glance over at him. His forehead glistens with a sheen of sweat, his ears glow red, and his flushed face and neck betray the battle he’s having with the bowl of spicy noodles—the same dish you’re enjoying without much trouble.
Putting down your chopsticks, you frown. “Chris, stop eating it. You’re suffering.”
Despite his clear discomfort, he shakes his head and stubbornly takes another bite. “It’s spicy, but it tastes good,” he says, though his voice is strained.
You sigh, getting up from your chair and heading to the fridge to grab a bottle of cold water. Returning to the table, you uncap it for him and pull the bowl away from his reach.
“Enough,” you insist, placing the water in front of him.
Finally conceding, Chris gulps down the water in relief, though it’s obvious it does little to soothe the fire in his mouth. Between sips, he glares at you. “Why on earth did you choose spicy noodles?”
You chuckle, finding his over-the-top reaction amusing. “You’ll live,” you tease, but his scolding continues.
“This isn’t funny!” he protests, still drinking water. “Do people eat this? Why would you eat this?”
Your laughter bubbles over, the tension of the day dissolving for the first time. Seeing your mirth, Chris glares again, but a small smile threatens to break through his stern expression.
As a way to make up for the "dinner disaster," you grab some milk and ice cream from a nearby store. The two of you sit on a bench outside, sharing the treats. Chris chugs from the carton of milk, sighing in relief as the burn finally starts to fade.
He side-eyes you, mock accusation clear in his tone. “Were you trying to kill me or something?”
Rolling your eyes, you open a pack of ice cream and offer it to him. “Stop being so dramatic.”
Chris takes it with a begrudging smile, the two of you settling into a companionable silence as you enjoy the sweet relief against the chilly late-winter air.
Your phone rings, breaking the moment. Glancing at the screen, you see Minho’s name flashing. Without a second thought, you hit “Reject” and shove the phone back into your pocket.
Chris raises a brow. “Not going to answer that?”
“Not now,” you reply, shrugging. “I’ll call back when I feel better.”
He sense that your mood hasn't changed much but he doesn’t push, instead offering a comforting smile. “You know, second place isn’t bad. You should be proud of yourself.”
It’s not about losing to Sara, though, but what her win represents. Still, you keep that to yourself, simply nodding. “You’re right. I feel good and happy about it.”
Chris grins, leaning in slightly. “You should. I saw everything tonight, and you were incredible. Even if you didn’t win, your cooking? Amazing. Remember what I said the first time I tasted your cooking?”
You laugh, recalling his words. “How could I forget? You said it was better than sex.”
Chris leans closer, his tone teasing. “Tasted it again today. Still better than sex.”
You burst out laughing. “Now I doubt that you ever had sex at all?”
He scoffs, feigning offense. “Excuse me? Not only am I rich, but I’m also attractive and popular.”
You roll your eyes and decide to tease him. “All that, and yet you can’t handle spicy food.”
Chris smirks, throwing an arm around your shoulder and roughly pulling you close. “You’re lucky I like you,” he says, squeezing you gently in mock revenge.
You giggle, squirming slightly in his hold, but his grip softens after a moment. His hand rubs soothingly up and down your arm, and the warmth of his touch is comforting. Leaning your head against his shoulder, you let out a content sigh as he pats your head softly, murmuring, “You did well. You really did.”
For a while, you sit like that, the peaceful night wrapping around the two of you. Then, out of the corner of your eye, you spot a stall selling fish-shaped breads down the street.
“Fish-shaped breads!” you exclaim, suddenly energized. Before Chris can respond, you’re already sprinting toward the stall, leaving him laughing in your wake.
The drive back is quiet, save for the soft hum of the radio and the occasional sound of Chris drumming his fingers against the steering wheel. You glance at him, noting the content smile on his face, and feel your own mood lift.
As the car comes to a stop in front of your place, you unbuckle your seatbelt and turn to him. “Thanks for tonight, Chris. I really needed this.”
Chris looks at you, his eyes soft under the dim glow of the streetlights. “Thank you for the most memorable dinner I’ve ever had.”
You laugh, shaking your head. “Most memorable, huh? You mean the spicy noodles almost killed you.”
He grins, leaning back in his seat. “Exactly. Unforgettable.”
Reaching for the bag of fish-shaped breads you’ve been holding the entire ride, you hand it to him. “Here, I kept these warm for you. My apology for the spicy noodles fiasco.”
Chris accepts the bag, his smile widening as he peeks inside. “I’ll forgive you—this time.”
The two of you share a quiet laugh before leaning in for a quick hug. His arm wraps securely around your shoulders for a brief moment, the gesture warm and comforting.
Pulling away, you open the door and step out. Before closing it, you lean down to look at him one last time. “Goodnight, Chris.”
His dimpled smile returns as he waves. “Goodnight. Get some rest.”
You shut the door and watch as he drives away, the bag of fish-shaped breads still in his hand. Smiling to yourself, you turn and head inside, the warmth of the night’s memories still lingering.
Until your phone rings and you see that it's Minho calling you again.
-
Minho stares at his phone, the screen mocking him with yet another voicemail. He clenches his jaw, his patience thinning with each unanswered call. Unbelievable, he mutters in his head, tucking the phone back into his pocket. You always pick up but not tonight. Not after everything that happened today.
His frustration only grows as the elevator ascends to your apartment floor. He doesn’t know what he’d say when he sees you—maybe he’d scold you for ignoring him or demand an explanation. Something. Anything to ease the irritation gnawing at him.
When he reaches your door, he rings the bell, shifting impatiently on his feet. It opens after a beat, but instead of you, it's Sara standing there, her expression annoyingly serene.
Minho stiffens. Of course, it has to be her. He knows she lives on the building but didn’t know that she's sharing the apartment with you.
“Is she home?” he asks brusquely, cutting straight to the point.
Sara tilts her head, a smirk playing on her lips. “Not yet,” she replies, as if his irritation amuses her.
Minho turns to leave but stopped midway. He can’t resist. Not with her standing there, acting like she belongs here. Facing her again, he let the words spill out, each one sharper than the last.
“I chose your dish because it’s just like you—greedy. Three sauces in one dish, just like how you want everything. Love. Skill. Fame. You don’t know how to let go of anything, do you?”
To his disbelief, Sara smiles, her eyes sparkling as though he’s just given her a bouquet of compliments. “Thank you,” she says sweetly, her voice saccharine.
His jaw clenched, a scoff escaping his lips as he turns on his heel and walks away.
“Goodnight, Minho,” Sara shouts toward him before getting back into the apartment.
“Ridiculous,” he mutters to himself in disbelief.
As he nears his apartment, something—or rather, someone—catches his eye. There you are, standing a few feet away, watching him. His chest tightens, though he masks it with irritation.
“Where have you been?” he snaps, his voice harsher than intended.
You cross your arms, meeting his glare head-on. “I was out with Chris.”
Chris. The name alone sends a sharp sting of annoyance through him. “What’s going on between you and him?” he demands, stepping closer.
Your brow arches, and instead of answering, you deflect. “What’s going on between you and Sara?”
Minho scoffs, shaking his head. “There’s nothing going on.”
“Really?” you challenge. “Because it looks like you two are still very close.”
The audacity. Minho closes the distance between you and him, forcing you back away until you hit the door of his apartment. His voice drops, low and deliberate. “I’m closer to you now than with her.”
He watches as a smile threatens to tug at your lips, though you fight to suppress it. “How much closer?” you tease, your voice light but your eyes searching his.
Minho is conflicted. A part of him wants to just go ahead, do whatever he wants to do but another part of him, the most stubborn part of him, reminds him to stay put, sticks to the rules. However for a moment, he falters. The walls he’s so carefully built around himself trembles under your gaze. The rules he’s sworn to uphold, the distance he’s vowed to maintain—they all seemed insignificant now.
But he can’t. He shouldn’t.
“Get out of my way,” he says instead, his tone clipped as he steps back.
You pout, moving aside as he unlocks his door. He pushes it open, stepping inside. This is the right choice, he tells himself. The smart choice.
But then he glances back.
The sight of you standing there, the faint disappointment flickering in your eyes—it's enough to unravel him completely. Before he can stop himself, he reaches out, grabbing your hand and pulling you inside.
The door clicks shut, and without hesitation, he presses his lips to yours. The kiss is desperate, unrelenting, all the tension and frustration he’s bottled up pouring out in waves. His hands found your waist, pulling you closer as every ounce of restraint dissolved.
Rules be damned. In this moment, you're all that mattered. Tonight, the stubborn part of him loses to his desire.
-
The moment Minho's lips find yours again, everything around you dissolves into nothingness. It's not just the way he kisses you—hungry, fervent, and impossibly deep—but the way his hands grip your waist with unrestrained need. Every movement, every touch, speaks volumes of just how much he’s been holding back.
When he finally pulls back, his chest heaving against yours, you barely have time to gasp for air before he sweeps you up effortlessly. Your arms wrap instinctively around his shoulders, your legs clinging to his hips as he carries you through the apartment. The kitchen counter greets your back, cold against the heat coursing through your body, as he sets you down and steps between your parted legs.
“This close,” He finally answers to your earlier question.
You hold his fiery gaze and breathlessly mutter, “Not close enough.”
The next kiss is even more desperate, more demanding. His hands work with an urgency that mirrors your own. You feel the tug of fabric as he pulls your jacket off and, with a sudden, heated impatience, rips open your shirt. The sound of buttons scattering echoes faintly in the room, but you can’t bring yourself to care.
Minho's lips leave yours, dragging hot, open-mouthed kisses down your neck, his teeth grazing just enough to send shivers through your entire body. He pauses at your collarbone, his fingers toying with the strap of your bra, his touch both teasing and commanding.
You take your chance, your hands tugging at the hem of his sweater. In one swift motion, you lift it over his head, and the sight of his bare skin—taut, toned, and so undeniably Minho—makes your breath hitch.
Your fingers trace down his chest, feeling every dip and ridge of his muscles as you pull him closer. This time, it’s your turn to explore. You press your lips to his throat, savoring the taste of his skin, warm and slightly salty, mixed with something so distinctly him that it makes your head spin.
His hands slide to your hips, gripping you firmly as his lips return to yours, his kiss relentless. When he pulls away this time, his eyes lock onto yours, dark and filled with something raw, something electric.
He takes hold of your hair, his fingers tangling at the side of your head, and tugs just hard enough to tilt your neck to the side. The sensation makes you gasp, but the sound quickly turns into a quiet moan as his lips find your neck again. He nips at the sensitive skin, his teeth grazing and his tongue soothing in turns.
“Tell me,” he whispers, his breath hot against your ear, sending a shiver down your spine. “How much closer do you want me to be?”
Your gaze locks onto his, unflinching despite the fire coursing through you. “A lot closer,” you say, your voice steady, daring.
The corner of his mouth quirks up into a smirk. Without another word, he hooks his arms under you, lifting you from the counter like you weigh nothing. Your legs tighten around him, your heart pounding as he carries you toward the bedroom.
Every step heightens your anticipation, your excitement surging as you wonder just how much closer the two of you can possibly get.
-
The room is dimly lit, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting long shadows across the walls. The air feels charged, every sound amplified—the rustle of the sheets, the faint hitch in your breath, the steady rhythm of Minho’s own.
You lie beside him, your naked body sinking into the mattress as his gaze locks onto yours, dark and unwavering. There’s an intensity in his eyes that makes your heart race, your pulse pounding in your ears.
“Don’t look away,” he murmurs, his voice low and commanding. His hand trails up your arm, his touch featherlight, yet it leaves a trail of heat in its wake. “I want to see you.”
What he means by that is seeing every reaction you make as he explores your body. You swallow hard, nodding slightly, though the weight of his stare makes it hard to hold. His fingers trace the curve of your shoulder, sliding down to your collarbone and then lower, brushing against your skin with deliberate slowness.
“Keep your eyes on me,” he says again, his tone softer this time, almost coaxing. His hand moves to the small of your back, pulling you closer, his thumb pressing gently into your hip.
Your breathing quickens, your chest rising and falling as his hand continues its path, exploring with a mixture of reverence and possession. His touch is both soothing and electrifying, every movement sending shivers through you.
“That’s it. Stay with me,” he whispers, his lips curving into a small, satisfied smile.
His fingers brush against your jaw, tilting your face slightly, ensuring your eyes remain locked on his. The intimacy of it is almost overwhelming, the closeness between you leaving no room for anything else—no thoughts, no distractions, just him.
As his hand continues its slow, deliberate exploration, he leans in, his breath warm against your skin. “I want you to feel everything,” he murmurs, his voice a promise, a command.
And you do. Every touch, every whispered word, every look—it’s all-consuming, a connection that feels deeper than anything you’ve ever known.
Minho’s hand slides down the curve of your waist, his fingers pressing just enough to remind you of his presence, of his control. He leans closer, his lips brushing against your temple, lingering there for a moment before trailing down to your cheek. His kisses are unhurried, deliberate, as if savoring every second.
“Still with me?” he murmurs against your skin, his voice a velvet caress.
You nod, your gaze still locked with his, though your breathing comes in shallow, uneven waves.
“Good,” he says, the corner of his mouth twitching into a faint smile. His lips find the corner of yours, hovering there teasingly before capturing them in a kiss that starts gentle but deepens with each passing second.
His hand moves again, tracing the outline of your thigh, then sliding up to your heating core. He pauses there, his thumb making lazy circles on your bundle of nerves that send warmth coursing through you.
Breaking the kiss, he pulls back just enough to meet your gaze again. “Don’t close your eyes,” he says softly, his fingers brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. “I want to see you.”
You nod again, unable to find words, your heart pounding too loudly in your chest.
Minho dips his head, his lips finding the hollow of your throat. He presses a series of kisses there, each one slower and more purposeful than the last. His free hand moves upward, trailing across your ribcage, his touch igniting a fire beneath your skin.
When his lips return to yours, the kiss is hungrier, filled with a need that matches your own. His hand slides back to your lower back, pulling you closer until there’s no space left between you.
“Is this close enough?” he murmurs against your lips, his voice husky and sincere. His hand cups your face, his thumb brushing over your cheekbone as he leans in again, his kisses growing more fervent, more insistent.
You don't know if he's asking if you're close to your high or this is the closeness you demand from him. Your brain is struggling to function and time seems to blur, the world outside fading away until he takes you to your high and you soar onto cloud nine.
Minho’s lips hover near your ear, his breath warm against your skin. “Perfect,” he whispers, his voice low and intimate. His words are a soft admission, meant only for you, carrying a depth of emotion that makes your heart ache in the best way.
Minho grounds you to the bed, peppering your shoulder and neck with kisses to help you coming down from your high. After a while, he slowly turns you to lay on your side and you hear the ripping sound from behind you. You turn your head to see Minho tears open a condom with his teeth.
You hold the arm curving around you as he works on putting a layer of protection on before coming back to plant kisses on your flushed skin again.
He grabs your chin, turning your head toward him so he can capture your lips in a kiss. His other hand grabs your leg by the back of your thigh and slowly, he lifts it just enough to make space for him to enter you from behind.
A crease formed between his eyebrows as he begins pushing his length, his teeth faintly biting his lower lip and his hand keeping your knee up. His fingers start to dug into the flesh as he launches the rest of his length until it's fully sheathed inside you.
Your gasp spill into his mouth and Minho crashes his lips onto yours again. In the dimly lit room, he holds you close as he moves in steady, slow motions. You hear nothing but the rustle of the sheets beneath you and your shared breathing, endlessly echoing in the room.
“Is this close enough for you now?” he suddenly asks with his ear pressed to your ear.
You mewl in complaint and shake your head.
Minho smirks at that, a corner of his mouth raises higher than the other. It gives you the impression that he has anticipated that answer and more than capable to cater to that demand.
He grips you by the waist and pulls you even closer, he slings his arm around you, keeping your body still as he picks up the pace of his thrusts, fulfilling your wish. It's just the two of you, bodies tangled on the bed, hands intertwined on the sheets, and you want this night to last forever, you don't even care if you have to live in darkness as Minho knows how to brings out the stars.

The room is quiet now, the air filled with the soft rhythm of your breathing and Minho's. The sheets are tangled around your legs, the faint scent of him clinging to the fabric. Minho lies beside you, his chest rising and falling steadily as his arm drapes protectively over your waist.
You shift slightly, your cheek resting against his shoulder. His skin is warm against yours, grounding you in the stillness of the night. Minho stirs at the movement, his hand tightening briefly on your hip before relaxing again.
“You okay?” he murmurs sleepily, his voice rough around the edges but laced with concern.
“Okay,” you whisper back, smiling softly as you tilt your head to look at him.
His eyes flutter open, dark and drowsy but still full of that intensity he never seems to lose. He shifts closer, pressing a kiss to your forehead before settling back into the pillows. “Good,” he mutters, his hand lazily tracing patterns on your back.
For a while, neither of you speak, content to bask in the quiet intimacy of the moment. The weight of his arm, the warmth of his body, the steady beat of his heart—all of it lulls you into a state of peace you hadn’t realized you needed.
Minho’s fingers trail up to your hair, gently brushing it away from your face. “Don’t even try to leave,” he softly threatens, his voice barely more than a whisper.
“I wasn’t planning to,” you reply, your lips curving into a smile.
His lips find yours in a slow, lingering kiss, one that feels like a promise. When he pulls back, his gaze searches yours, as if memorizing every detail.
“Good,” he says again, his voice softer now, almost inaudible.
As the minutes stretch into hours, sleep finally begins to claim you. Minho pulls you closer, his arm wrapping securely around you. His breath is warm against your temple, his presence a protective cocoon that makes you feel utterly safe.
And with that, the world fades away, leaving only the quiet comfort of being beside him, the rhythm of his heartbeat a soothing lullaby as you drift off together.
-
The morning light streams through the tall windows of Farfalle as you walk down the hallway, the crisp click of your shoes echoing faintly. With a light knock on the door, you wait for Chris’s faint, “Come in,” before pushing it open slightly and poking your head in.
“Good morning!” you chirp, a bright smile on your face.
Chris glances up from his desk, clearly surprised by your sunny demeanor. His own lips curve into a smile as he leans back in his chair, arms crossing. “Well, someone’s in a good mood today.”
You shrug coyly, stepping into his office and making your way to his desk. “Maybe,” you say, your tone teasing. From your pocket, you pull out a small bottle and place it in front of him with a sly smile.
Chris’s brows furrow, and when he realizes it’s a digestive drink, he fixes you with a playful glare. “Really?” he says, exasperation coloring his tone.
“Just in case your stomach acts up today,” you quip, barely able to suppress your grin.
His tongue pokes the inside of his cheek and then shakes his head, but there’s amusement in his eyes. “You’re never going to let me live that down, are you?”
“Never,” you say with mock seriousness, before leaning forward slightly. “I also came to give you a warning.”
His brow arches, curiosity flickering across his face. “A warning?”
“Don’t act too friendly towards me,” you say, your tone playful but laced with faux seriousness. “And definitely don’t behave in a way that could be misunderstood by everyone—especially Chef Lee.”
Chris chuckles, shaking his head slightly. “And why’s that?”
“Because if you, even for a second, make me think I’m your favorite, I’ll start expecting special treatments,” you warn with a grin.
His smile widens, and he leans forward on his desk. “What if I told you that you already are my favorite? Tell me what kind of special treatments you want from me?”
You scoff, rolling your eyes. “At least try to pretend like I’m not your favorite.”
Chris chuckles again, the sound low and warm. “Fine,” he says, raising his hands in surrender. “I’ll try my best.”
With a triumphant grin, you reach into your pocket again and pull out a lollipop, placing it on his desk. “Since we've reached an agreement,” you say with a laugh.
Chris stares at the candy for a moment before sighing, his smile softening as he hurriedly puts the lollipop in a pocket of his navy suit. “This is exactly why you’re my favorite.”
You laugh as you turn to leave, waving over your shoulder. “Have a great day, Manager Bang!” You say in a veiled formality and a suppressed smile.
His quiet chuckle follows you out the door, leaving a small, satisfied warmth in your chest as you return to the bustling kitchen which immediately puts you on edge.
Your eyes widen as you see them hauling boxes of ingredients into the kitchen, the clattering of crates and the shuffle of hurried feet filling the air. A knot of dread forms in your stomach—you should have been helping with this.
You sprint to the back entrance, weaving through the bustling staff. Sure enough, Minho is there, standing at the edge of a delivery truck, clipboard in hand as he meticulously checks off the contents of each box. His voice cuts through the air, sharp and commanding, as he instructs everyone to carry the ingredients inside. He’s inspecting two styrofoam boxes when you cautiously approach.
“Why do we need fish roe?” he mutters, narrowing his eyes at the label.
“It’s for Chef Sara’s dish,” you answer quickly, hoping to be helpful.
Minho’s head snaps up, and his sharp eyes lock on yours. His gaze narrows further, the intensity of his stare making you freeze. “And where,” he starts, his tone low and dangerously calm, “have you been?”
You avoid the question entirely, choosing instead to give him your sweetest smile and hope that you can get away with it.
Minho’s lips curl into a sly, almost mocking smile, and he tilts his head slightly. “Come here,” he says, motioning with two fingers.
Warily, you step closer, and before you can react, his hand darts toward your forehead. You instinctively close your eyes, bracing yourself.
“Keep your eyes open,” he scolds, flicking your forehead hard enough to make you wince.
“Ouch! Chef!” you protest, rubbing the sore spot with a pout.
He merely smirks, unbothered. “If you have time to smile like an idiot, you have time to work.”
You grab a box of ingredients hurriedly, eager to escape his glare. “I’ll take this inside,” you mutter, hoisting it up.
“You should be,” he replies smoothly, not missing a beat. “You’re part of the kitchen staff, remember?”
“Yes, Chef,” you answer, louder this time. As you’re about to carry the box away, he stops you with a hand on the edge of it.
“Not that,” he says, taking the box from you with ease. “Take the sack of short-necked clams.” He nods toward the truck bed. “You’re in charge of vongole, aren’t you? These clams are your precious babies.”
You hesitate, staring at the heavy sack with dismay. Gathering your courage, you grab it and attempt to lift it. The weight nearly pulls you off balance, but you hold on, determined.
Minho watches your struggle, a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips. “What? Are you going to act like a girl now?”
You glare at him but straighten up, adjusting your grip on the sack. “No, Chef,” you snap, gritting your teeth as you finally manage to lift it.
“Then hurry up,” he barks, his voice loud enough to make you flinch.
“Yes, Chef!” you shout back, stumbling slightly as you head toward the kitchen with the sack.
You can feel his eyes on your back, no doubt ready to pounce if you falter. Despite everything, a strange thrill courses through you. Minho’s treatment of you in the kitchen is as cold and exacting as ever, but the contrast to how he was last night only makes it more intriguing. It’s a game of hot and cold, and you find yourself enjoying the uncertainty of what might come next.
-
Minho steps into the quiet kitchen, the clatter of utensils and murmurs of the staff enjoying their lunch fading into the background. It’s the only time during the day when the kitchen isn’t buzzing with chaos, and he plans to take full advantage of it. He heads straight for the workstation, intent on prepping the ingredients for his new dish.
He’s mentally cataloging everything he needs when his phone buzzes in his pocket. Without glancing at the screen, he answers, half expecting it to be some important work calls.
“Hello?” he says curtly.
“Minho,” comes a familiar, overly sweet voice that instantly grates on his nerves.
He stiffens. Sara.
She skips any pleasantries, her tone light but deliberate. “It’s been so long since we’ve worked in the same kitchen, hasn’t it?”
Minho’s jaw tightens as he grips the phone. “What do you want?” he asks coldly, already regretting picking up.
Sara doesn’t answer directly, instead continuing with an air of feigned nervousness. “I have to admit, it’s a bit... intimidating. Being in the same space as you again.”
He exhales sharply, more annoyed than surprised. “You’ve always wanted what I have,” he bites out, cutting through her coy act.
A low chuckle comes through the line, infuriatingly casual. “Oh, Minho,” she says smoothly, “I’m not here to take it from you. I want us to share it.”
Minho scoffs, the sound harsh and dismissive. “Share?” he repeats, the word tasting bitter in his mouth.
“With both of us there, we could make something extraordinary,” she says, her tone as slippery as ever.
He doesn’t bother responding, his silence heavy with disdain.
Sara lets the pause linger before finally breaking it. “Well,” she says lightly, “I’ll see you later, Minho.”
The line goes dead before he can hang up on her. Minho stares at the phone in his hand for a moment, his expression hard and unreadable. He slips it back into his pocket, his jaw tightening further. Share the kitchen? With her? The thought alone makes his stomach churn.
He shakes his head, refocusing on his ingredients. If Sara thinks she can rattle him, she’s wasting her time. The kitchen is his, and nothing—least of all her—will change that.
As he focuses on his dish, Minho hears the sound of footsteps echoes through the quiet kitchen. Without glancing up, Minho knows it’s you. He can sense your presence even before you step into his line of sight, though he doesn’t acknowledge you.
You don’t speak at first, clearly aware that when Minho is cooking, interruptions are unwelcome. The kitchen hums with the low sizzle of the foie gras in the pan, the aroma rich and intoxicating. He’s in his zone, focused on perfecting the delicate balance of flavors for his dish.
After a moment, though, your voice breaks the silence. “Can I have a taste of the foie gras, chef?”
Minho doesn’t even look up. “No.” His response is flat and immediate.
Undeterred, you take a step closer. “What if I help prepare the liver? I’m good with—”
“No,” he cuts you off again, his tone firm.
“Fine,” you say with a sigh, clearly thinking of another angle. “What if I assist with plating? I’ll make it look perfect—”
“No.”
This time, your voice takes on a pleading tone. “Can I at least taste the failed ones? You know, the ones you don’t use—”
Minho’s hand pauses briefly, his gaze flicking to you. “I’d hate that even more.”
You huff, realizing you’re getting nowhere. But rather than give up entirely, you try a different approach. Your eyes land on the remaining fish nearby, and you ask casually, “Can I at least have the rest of the fish, then?”
As your hand reaches out, Minho’s reaction is swift. He slaps your wrist lightly, his movements sharp and precise.
“That’s mine,” he warns, his voice low and serious. “Don’t touch it!”
You withdraw your hand quickly, your pout almost comical under the weight of his intense stare. For a brief second, Minho’s lips twitch, but he suppresses the urge to smirk.
Instead, he gestures toward the door. “If you have that much energy to bother me, go call everyone to get ready for dinner service.”
“Yes, chef,” you obey as you always do, but not without one last attempt at teasing him. As you turn to leave, your fingers hover playfully over the fish again, daring to provoke him.
Minho narrows his eyes and clicks his tongue, annoyed. “Don’t even think about it,” he growls.
With a mischievous grin, you laugh softly and disappear through the door. Minho shakes his head, a faint smirk finally breaking through. You’re infuriating, but somehow, it only fuels his focus.
-
The kitchen hums with a tension that feels almost electric as everyone stands at their stations, awaiting Minho's lead. He steps forward, his voice cutting through the quiet like a blade.
"Is everyone ready for dinner service?"
A unified reply echoes back, "Yes, Chef!"
Minho surveys the room, his gaze sharp and commanding. “There’s a lot to prepare for tomorrow’s reservation—100 guests. It’s going to be a long night.” He points toward Taesoo, Felix, and then you, his eyes briefly locking with yours. “You three stay after closing time. Understood?”
“Yes, Chef,” the three of you reply in unison and Felix sneakily offers his fist at you and you give it a gentle bump with your fist.
Just as the service staff enters, informing that dinner guests have arrived, Chris strides into the kitchen, his presence drawing everyone's attention. His casual demeanor is replaced by something heavier, his expression unreadable as he clears his throat to address the team.
“I hope you’re all prepared for tomorrow’s press conference,” Chris begins, glancing around. “We’ll be introducing the new additions to the menu—Chef Lee’s foie gras and Chef Sara’s triple-flavored pasta.”
Minho freezes mid-step, his jaw tightening as the words land. The room feels like it shifts; everyone is equally stunned, their collective silence palpable.
Chris doesn’t stop. He then turns toward Minho and says, “Sara says she’ll be making the pasta herself.”
The phone call suddenly clicks into place. Minho’s expression doesn’t change, but you can see the sharp edge in his gaze. You’re not the only one who notices—Felix is the first to speak.
“What?” Felix blurts, his voice tinged with disbelief. “Does that mean she’ll be cooking here, in this kitchen?”
Chris nods, calm yet firm. “Yes. As it'll be on the restaurant’s menu.”
Felix protests, his tone rising. “That’s nonsense! How can there be two chefs in one kitchen? You can’t. It's like having two conductors for the orchestra. Do you think that'd work? Do you even think about us?”
Seungwan chimes in, frowning. “They’d have completely different ways of making the same dish. What do we do then?”
Sous Chef Seojun, always composed, adds with a dry tone, “Even if she won first place for the new menu, she’s an outsider who participated without prior notice. I think the right thing for her to do would be to give us the recipe and we compensate her for it.”
Chris’s patience visibly thins. His jaw clenches, and for the first time, you see a flicker of true tension in his usually relaxed posture. The sight of him like this—stern, commanding, his gaze hard—shouldn’t distract you, but it does. He looks… devastatingly hot.
“Enough,” Chris says, his voice low but firm. “The restaurant was closed for three days for a reason. We agreed on changes in the restaurant,” he adds, looking directly at Minho, “And all you need to worry about is your foie gras, Chef.”
Minho exhales sharply, a sound that betrays his simmering anger. You can see the tension in his jaw, the way his hands clench at his sides. You know it's not the right time for it but Minho also looks... devastatingly hot.
He narrows his eyes at Chris, sensing there’s more to come. “Don’t tell me that she's already here,” Minho says, his voice tight.
Chris confirms with a nod. “She’s here.”
As if summoned by his words,, Sara steps into the kitchen, her heels clicking against the floor as she strides in with a confidence that feels almost rehearsed. Her sweet smile only adds fuel to the tension in the room.
“Nice to meet everyone,” Sara says, her tone light, playful. Her eyes flicker to Minho. “I hope no one plans to chase me out of the kitchen just because someone here has… issues tolerating women in the kitchen.”
The comment is a thinly veiled jab, and she glances pointedly at Felix, acknowledging him as Minho’s loyal protégé. Sara continues, turning to Minho with a feigned sweetness. “I’ll follow your instructions, Chef. Tell me where to stand and from which stove I should work.”
Minho’s knuckles whiten as he grips the edge of the table, his rage barely contained. He says nothing, his silence louder than words.
Sara tilts her head, her voice dripping with mock innocence. “Should I pick the station myself, then?”
Her hands slide onto the chef’s table, a deliberate, territorial move. The implication is clear—she’s claiming his space.
It’s the last straw.
Minho spins on his heel, his movements sharp and deliberate. His eyes burn with fury as they lock onto hers, and for a moment, the air between them feels suffocating.
Sara doesn’t flinch, meeting his gaze with calm defiance.
Without a word, Minho storms past her, his shoulder brushing hers hard enough to make her stagger. The force of his exit is like a storm ripping through the room, leaving everyone in stunned silence.
Sara straightens herself, brushing off the impact with a smirk. But the damage is done—the kitchen is left in a tension so thick it feels impossible to breathe.
And just like that, Minho is gone.

𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐬 | (𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 4)
➳❥ 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭: If it's not a bother for you, can you please write types of simp they are for rojuro, kenpachi, kensei, sajin and iba? Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
➳❥ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Zaraki Kenpachi, Unohana Retsu, Ichimaru Gin, Muguruma Kensei, Ulquiorra Cifer
➳❥ 𝐀/𝐍: Anon, I’m so sorry that I didn’t write for most of the characters you requested. Majorly because I don’t write for them. However, I didn’t want to turn down your request and decided to answer for Zenpachi and Kensei while adding in extras. I tried my hand with Kensei for the first time even though I’m uninterested in writing for him.
𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Zaraki Kenpachi — Aggressively Affectionate Simp
˚₊‧꒰ა Firstly, he’s fiercely protective of you, even though he knows you have strength and skills and all that, he still keeps an eye on you during battles, ensuring no harm comes your way. And god help those who do harm you.
˚₊‧꒰ა We all know he has his roughness, but just for you, he’ll grow a little softer. Ruffling your hair, bumping your shoulders, pulling you onto his lap or letting you piggyback ride across Seireitei or wherever he goes (because he gets lost). Aware of when you’re stressed or tired and forces—scolds—you to take it ease. “You’ve been pushing yourself too hard. Take a rest, I’ll handle things here.”
˚₊‧꒰ა You’re his favourite sparring partner from now on. Whether you have the strength to go against him, he’s sparring with you. Consider it his way of indirectly training you for tough opponents because once you can handle him, you’re good to go.
˚₊‧꒰ა His hands roam and wander and they do not apologise. Walking through the barracks and suddenly feeling a slap to your ass, standing beside him or bending over and randomly feeling his hands on your hips, out of nowhere, a giant, towering six feet figure drapes over you, or a bone-crushing hug that turns you into jelly. Yup! Expect it.
˚₊‧꒰ა Your number one hype man, or maybe Yachiru fights him for that position. But he’s your hype man and makes sure that his division also hypes you up anytime you’re fighting or celebrating a victory or accomplishment.
˚₊‧꒰ა Constantly makes bets with you to see who can kill more Hollows or beat up (in his case, kill) bad guys. The winner…gets something only he could think of giving. I’ll let you all decide.
˚₊‧꒰ა “Say that again, and you’ll regret it. Do you wanna die?” Yes, he threatens everyone and anyone because they dare ill-speak about you?! Never around or not around him. Would tell you to spar with him so you can feel better. Hit him as many times as you want since he’ll tank every hit.
˚₊‧꒰ა He’s fiercely loyal, never letting anyone mutter a single word about you. Which brings about his bluntness when it comes to letting you know how he feels. “I don’t like when you’re upset. Tell me who did this?”
˚₊‧꒰ა Doesn’t like when people interrupt your time with him. “Shoo. Can’t you see we’re busy?” Which leads to his possessiveness, always making sure others know that you’re his. “They’re with me, got a problem with that?!”
Unohana — Gentle-Natured Simp
˚₊‧꒰ა “Have you eaten today? You need to keep your strength up.” Yeah, for all of you who don’t like to eat (proper food), you’re gonna have her on your case when she learns you haven’t been taking care of yourself properly. (don’t think anyone wouldn’t mind though)
˚₊‧꒰ა Super supportive and always there to lend an ear anytime you need something to just listen to or give advice. Words of encouragement will be returned whether you ask for them or not, she will always boost your confidence. “You have so much potential. Never doubt yourself.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Tea dates, which probably start off with cooking dates. I can see her inviting you over to her division to spend time making your favourite meals together before moving to her quarters for a more private setting where you can enjoy your meal and some tea.
˚₊‧꒰ა I really don’t believe anyone is that foolish enough to harm you when she’s protecting you. Like everyone knows her reputation back then, and it hasn’t vanished, so you are well protected. Even if she doesn’t need to revert to that old version of her, her legendary skills in Kido are enough to keep you safe.
˚₊‧꒰ა Randomly pops up out of nowhere when you’re minding your business. All you would suddenly hear is her voice behind you, calling your name sweetly, or suddenly feel her arms sliding around your waist. It gives you quite a scare no matter how many times she reminds you that it’s all in good spirit.
˚₊‧꒰ა She had a habit of touching you as a gesture of reassurance, more for her sake than yours. A silent reminder that you’re real, you’re safe and alive, you’re still here with her. She sees you as her haven, her peace of mind and source of all things good. A light among all her transgressions in her past. Something good in her life.
˚₊‧꒰ა On that note of her being touchy, she does enjoy it when you cuddle her. Even if it’s just leaning into her side and wrapping your arms around her or sleeping beside her—she loves it. A small kiss to your forehead or head while she holds you closely and whispers, “You’re my everything,” or “You bring me much joy.”
˚₊‧꒰ა She loves to call you affectionate nicknames and terms of endearment, which makes your heart race when you look at you so sweetly and softly. “My dear,” “My heart,” “My love,” “My stars.” She’s a romantic one as well, in her own way of course. Surprising you with unexpected acts of kindness, a massage, a hot bath, or a spa day.
Ichimaru Gin — Devoted Simp (obviously)
˚₊‧꒰ა He loves to keep you on your toes, making you flustered or leaving you blushing, when often teasing you in a light-hearted manner. Sometimes, he likes to appear out of nowhere, always keeping an eye on you. “Miss me? I was just around the corner. You look so cute when flustered, you know that?”
˚₊‧꒰ა Fiercely protective and will never let anyone harm you while he’s around or not around. “Touch them, and you’ll regret it.” During any situation that becomes tense, and he notices your discomfort, he’ll use his charming words to defuse the tension. “No need to worry, everything’s under control.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Has a soft spot for seeing you happy and goes out of his way to make you smile. Using the moment to call you affectionate nicknames, often in a teasing yet endearing tone. “Hey, sunshine, come here for a second,” or “Looking lovely to today, cutie.”
˚₊‧꒰ა You don’t have to worry about Gin being honest about his feelings or expressing his thoughts, even if they’re difficult to express. “I care about you more than you know. You’re my everything.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Loves when it’s just you and him together amidst the moments of chaos where he can let his hair down and be at ease. He is protective of those cherished times between you two. Doesn’t appreciate when someone encroaches or attempts to drag you off. “I love moments like this. When it’s just us. You and I.”
˚₊‧꒰ა He’s very attentive to your needs and wants while listening to your troubles or ambitions. He’ll remember that you only drink beverages of a certain colour or sit on a certain side of the room—as silly or odd as your preferences are, he respects them. As for your goals, he’s there to support you. “I believe in you, and I’m here to support you at all times.”
˚₊‧꒰ა His form of physical affection is as subtle and gentle as the wind. A gentle brush of his hand against your cheek, a kiss to the back of your hand, a gentle hug before he pulls you onto the futon to cuddle and peppers your face in soft kisses, landing the last one on your forehead.
Muguruma Kensei — Tough and Dedicated Simp
˚₊‧꒰ა He naturally has a tough exterior, often giving you a hard time, but it would be clear that he cares deeply about you. His teasing would be a way of showing affection to break the ice in case you felt like he was being a bit too tough on you.
˚₊‧꒰ა Despite his gruff exterior, he’s not immune to your teasing. If you call him out on being soft for you, he’ll scowl, but the faint pink on his ears gives him away. “Tch. Soft? You’re seeing things.”
˚₊‧꒰ა He tries not to let his affection affect his leadership, but it’s clear he values your opinion above others. If someone questions it, his response is simple: “Their insight’s solid. Got a problem with that?” But if that person doesn’t know to back off, he is fiercely protective, even if there’s no real danger. If someone so much as raises their voice at you, he’s immediately in their face.
˚₊‧꒰ა He’s awkward with words when expressing how he feels, so he opts to show his care through actions—like fixing something for you or standing watch during late-night shifts. “What? You needed help, and I had time. No big deal.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Though he tries to act cool, his flustered moments give him away. If you catch him staring, he’ll clear his throat and mutter something like, “You’ve got something on your face—never mind.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Kensei always finds himself drawn to your presence, his usually stern expression softening whenever you're around. “Oi, don’t think I didn’t notice you sneaking into my thoughts again.” On rare, quiet nights, he lets himself be honest. “You make all this crap easier to deal with, y’know? Don’t go running off, yeah?”
˚₊‧꒰ა He’s surprisingly attentive, remembering small details about you that most wouldn’t. If you casually mention liking a certain snack, it’ll mysteriously appear in the barracks the next day. “Don’t overthink it, yeah? It’s not a big deal.”
Ulquiorra Cifer — Stoic Simp
˚₊‧꒰ა “Why do you insist on holding my hand?” Struggles to understand physical affection and your need for it. To him, it’s confusing and foreign, though, he slowly eases into the act bit by bit.
˚₊‧꒰ა Incredibly observant and always noticing the smallest details about you and remembering them. “You prefer you tea without sugar, correct?” or “You enjoy a warm blanket during the rain.” Even when your interests might be odd to him, once he understands that it brings you comfort, he strives to achieve it.
˚₊‧꒰ა His form of affection of performed through acts of service. Perhaps something of yours finished or broke. He will repair it or retrieve a new and better version for you, in the same colour with greater efficiency, so it doesn’t crash out on you. “Your vase was broken, so I took the liberty of repairing it.”
˚₊‧꒰ა Quiet moments with you are heavily appreciated—often sitting together in comfortable silence or engaging in deep, meaningful conversations. “Your presence is…calming. I enjoy your company.”
˚₊‧꒰ა He’s so straightforward with his feelings, never beating around the bush to leave you second-guessing what he was attempting to say. “I care about you. That is the truth and should anyone harm or take you away from me, they will suffer.” Protective and honesty as well.
˚₊‧꒰ა Enjoy teaching you about the Hollow world and his experiences, finding satisfaction in sharing his knowledge with you. Sometimes he would talk about his time before becoming an Arrancar and the room might grow silent as you feel sorry for his loneliness or the fights he got involved in back then.
˚₊‧꒰ა Has a habit of silently watching over you. At first, it came off as stalkerish since he was always lurking behind you, five paces silently. It was unnerving, but you eventually grew accustomed to his silence as he followed you around for your safety since other Espada might let their superiority go to their head and attempt to harm you.

YOU DON'T BELONG TO ANYONE ELSE
WARNING: Contains extreme jealousy, possessiveness, manipulation, and toxic relationship dynamics.
THE warm afternoon breeze brushed against your face as you waited for Rafe Cameron on the dock by his house. You had rehearsed this moment over and over, going through the words in your head, trying to find the best way to tell him that whatever this was between you two needed to end. But now that you were here, with your stomach tied in knots, it seemed like no words were enough.
When you heard the roar of his motorcycle engine cut off, your heart skipped a beat. You watched him approach with his usual confidence, hands in his pockets, an expression of curiosity mixed with that arrogance that always seemed to follow him.
“Why so serious?” he asked, a half-smile playing on his lips, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“We need to talk, Rafe.”
His smile vanished instantly, replaced by a dark look you knew all too well.
“About what?” he asked, though it seemed like he already knew the answer.
You took a deep breath, trying to summon the courage that seemed to waver with every step he took closer to you.
“I can’t do this anymore. I can’t do us anymore, Rafe.”
His reaction was immediate. His brows furrowed, and he stepped closer so fast that you instinctively stepped back.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’m saying this doesn’t work. You don’t work, Rafe. You’re… you’re jealous, controlling, and you don’t even have the guts to tell anyone we’re together.”
Rafe let out a dry laugh, devoid of any humor.
“That’s what this is about? That I won’t make it public? Really?”
You looked at him firmly, even though you were shaking inside.
“It’s not just that. It’s everything. You don’t let me breathe, Rafe. You’re always asking where I am, who I’m with. You treat me like I’m your property, and I’m not anyone’s.”
That seemed to ignite something in him, something dangerous.
“Oh, really?” he shot back, his voice low and chilling—sending shivers down your spine. “Because you seemed pretty comfortable being mine up until now.”
“I wasn’t. I was scared of you.”
The words slipped out before you could stop them, and the truth in them seemed to hit him like a slap. For a moment, the fury in his eyes wavered, but only for a second.
“This is about him, isn’t it?” he spat, his voice rising a notch. “About those damn Pogues. Is it Maybank? Of course, it’s him. That bastard always looks at you like he wants to rip your clothes off.”
“This has nothing to do with JJ!” you shouted, desperate to make him understand. “This is about you. About what you make me feel.”
Rafe stayed silent, but his jaw was clenched, and his fists were tight at his sides. Then he stepped closer, his face just inches from yours.
“You’re not leaving, Y/N. I’m not letting you go.”
“You don’t have the right to decide that, Rafe.”
“You’re mine,” he insisted, his voice filled with a fervor that sent a chill down your spine. “And if you think I’m going to sit back while you run into that Pogue’s arms, you’re dead wrong.”
You stepped back, trying to put some distance between you, but he wouldn’t let you. His hand shot out, gripping your wrist tightly and forcing you to look at him.
“Let me go, Rafe.”
“I don’t want to hurt you, but don’t push me.”
Your heart pounded as you tried to free your hand, but his grip was unrelenting. Finally, you managed to pull away, stepping back a few feet as you looked at him with tears in your eyes.
“This isn’t love, Rafe. And no matter how hard you try to hold on, I’m not staying.”
His gaze darkened even further, and for a second, you feared what he might do. But then, he just stood there, watching you as you turned around and walked away, feeling his stare burning into your back.
You knew this wasn’t the end, that Rafe Cameron wasn’t the type to let go of what he thought was his. But for the first time in a long time, you felt like you’d reclaimed a little bit of your freedom.

MERRY (very belated) CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR @erismor-iok ! I’m your secret Santa for the @mlsecretsanta exchange! Whew, this piece was a time—I changed it about 4 times until I landed on this concept but I’m so pleased with the final result! It’s been a hectic Christmas season but I’m so grateful to participate in my 8th secret Santa exchange with this particular group. 🥹 I just realized that this is my first official post of 2025! That’s just insane! ✨
Anyway, if you wanna hear more ramblings on this piece, check out more under the cut!
❄️ My Socials ❄️
Insta | Ko-Fi | Patreon
Originally this concept was gonna be the final result you see here—which sounds strange cause it’s here now, but early on I wasn’t super settled on it. I didn’t feel confident I could pull it off well with the craziness going on, so I switched tactics and had it so they were watching the northern lights (which were actually visible in France a couple times this past year thanks to the intense solar storms we got!). I had that concept established for a good chunk of the process—that is until I started playing with the fact that maybe they’re watching snow gently fall on them—in which case, they probably wouldn’t be able to view the northern lights because CLOUDS 😂😭 I tried a few variations but in the end, I did one massive loop around and somehow landed where I started and tbh I’m fine with that. I’m so happy with how it turned out! When you compare this to my first ever secret Santa piece, it’s honestly very surreal to see 8 years of growth! Here’s the 2016 version for reference …
The hands were purposely cropped out cause I still had no idea how to draw them 😂😬 but hey! That’s part of growing up and honing one’s craft! Gotta take the good with the cringe!
Anyway this was so fun to work on!! Looking forward to all next year brings!

Leo's gaze never wavered as he listened, each word she spoke landing somewhere deep inside him, unraveling threads of doubt he didn’t even know he still had. Her sincerity was palpable, hanging in the air between them like a fragile thread, connecting their fractured past to something that almost felt possible. For a moment, he stood still, the weight of her promise sinking in. He had spent so long buried in anger, in the belief that nothing could undo what had been done, but now, as he looked at her—really looked at her—he could see it. He could see the raw, unguarded hope in her eyes, the same hope that had been lost in him for so long. "I hear you. I hear every word. I’m not saying I can just let go of everything… it’s not that simple." He took a slow step forward, his eyes never leaving hers. "But I can’t pretend it.. you don’t matter either." With those words, he finally bridged the gap of why he'd reacted the way he did when he saw her date handling her the way he did and what he felt of her considering their history. "You're too hot not to"
He wasn’t the type of man to let burdens linger for long. It had been years, and despite his lingering doubts, he wasn’t about to sever ties entirely. There was too much about her that intrigued him. She provoked him, a spark of wit and sass that kept him on his toes. She played with him as much as he did with her, and he couldn’t deny he found it exhilarating. And above all else, oh she was sexy.
Leo hung on every word she spoke, as though scaling a cliff with each syllable. She had a command over language that captivated him, and something told him she was going to be a force to reckon with. But he revelled in it. He had grown tired of women who offered nothing but shallow exchanges—he craved the push, the spark of challenge that had long eluded him. And here it was, wrapped in the most intoxicating brunette figure he'd ever laid eyes on. And that attractive only ignited when she reached for her towel and dropped it to the flooring with a quiet thud. Leo had to practically hold his jaw from joining the towel on the floor. There she was in all her glory and he just couldn't look away. "Aida Melero...Fuck me“ He declared, his eyes unabashedly lingering on her figure with quiet admiration. Her perky breasts that sat so confidently upon her chest, the way the remains of the water droplets drizzled down her body, caressing her the way he was ready for his hands to do. "Mine" he repeated, moving his arm to wrap around her waist once more and pull her towards him again, already breathless and slightly panting. This view had knocked everything out of him. But it didn't stop him from kissing her again with the same passion and urgency as the one before, if anything, more so. She was bare but somehow he needed more. He was lost in the familiar sensation of her although a territory not yet visited—the curve of her naked body against his, the soft rise and fall of her breath. He gripped her hips and picked her up, using his fingers to push her thighs to wrap around him as he continued with the kiss. Not a single break off as he manoeuvred. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss, his stubble grazing her soft skin as he pressed harder, needing more, needing her. His arm around her waist tightened, holding her steady against the onslaught of his need. Her scent—a mix of something sweet and maddeningly familiar—wrapped around him, and he groaned low in his throat, the sound vibrating against her lips.
Aida felt her heart swell as Leo’s words sank in, and for the first time in what felt like forever, a genuine smile started to tug at the corners of her lips. She hadn’t realized just how badly she needed to hear those words until now. We can work on that. He was willing to try. He was willing to forgive. The weight in her chest lightened, but she knew this was just the beginning. There was so much to make up for, so much to prove, and she was ready to fight for it. Ready to fight for him.
She stepped a little closer, her fingers gently grazing his arm as she looked up at him, eyes soft but resolute. “I will try every single day, Leo. Every day from now on. I won’t stop trying to make up for what I’ve done,” she said, her voice steady despite the tremor of hope that threaded through every word. “I know I can’t change the past, but I can change what’s ahead of us. I can prove to you that I’ve always wanted you… only you. That I never wanted to hurt you, and I never meant to make you feel worthless.” Her gaze softened as she reached up, brushing a tear from her cheek, smiling through the emotion that still threatened to overwhelm her. “I know it’s not going to be easy, but I promise I’ll make it right. I’ll make the hurt go away. I’ll make those old memories vanish. And from now on, I want you to remember me like this… as someone who would do anything to make things better. I don’t want you to see me as that girl who hurt you anymore. I want to be someone you can trust. Someone you can love.”
Her smile grew a little wider as she took a small step closer, her heart racing as she stood before him, finally feeling like maybe—just maybe—she had a chance to change everything. To make up for what she had lost. “You’re not the only one who’s been carrying the weight of the past,” she whispered, her voice filled with determination. “But I’m not going to run from it anymore." Aida let out a soft breath, holding his gaze, silently asking for the chance to show him that everything could be different now. She would make sure he never felt that pain again. She would prove it, no matter what it took. "I will make you forget, and.. I will start now." she whispered gently, yet there was an alluring undertone as her hand reached for her towel and pulled it from her body, letting it fall to the floor. "Tonight, i will let you do whatever you want with me. I am yours, Leo. Yours only."

undercover
javier peña x reader
summary: y/n and javier go undercover
javier peña masterlist
It was late when Javier Peña and I slipped into the small, dimly lit hotel in Bogotá, our cover story already in place. We had become strangers—just another pair of tourists looking for a quiet retreat from the noise of the city. Our clothing was ordinary, unremarkable, but everything else had to be convincing. In the world we were about to enter, any slip-up could be fatal.
Javier glanced at me as we approached the check-in counter, his stomach tight with unease. I looked as calm as ever, my eyes scanning the room, every movement deliberate and controlled. I was good at this—too good. Javier hated it, but he couldn’t deny how perfectly I blended into the role of a foreigner on a business trip.
“Two nights,” he said to the hotel clerk in Spanish, his voice low and casual. “Under the name ‘Rodríguez.’” He flashed a small, practiced smile.
I stood behind him, leaning in slightly to whisper, “You know, you might want to work on your small talk skills, Peña.” My voice was light, teasing, but there was an edge of tension beneath it, an awareness of just how dangerous this mission was.
He shot me a glance as the clerk handed over the key, catching the faintest flicker of anxiety in my expression before I masked it again. She’s hiding it better than I am, he thought.
“We’re just here for business,” Javier continued smoothly, taking the room key. “I’m sure you understand.”
I nodded, adding my own warmth to the act. The clerk barely looked up as he handed us the key and gave us the directions to the elevator.
We made our way upstairs, moving with calculated precision, as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening. The elevator doors slid shut, and the moment the metal closed between us and the world below, Javier turned to me, his voice barely a whisper.
“We can’t afford any mistakes, y/n. If they find out we’re not who we say we are…” He trailed off, but the meaning hung heavily between us.
“I know,” I replied, my voice firm but low. “That’s why you’re here. To watch my back.”
Javier’s chest tightened at the words. She’s counting on me.
Once inside the hotel room, we wasted no time in setting up. The small space felt suffocating despite its plainness. A simple bed, a worn-out chair, a cracked mirror hanging above a sink. It was the kind of place where people came to disappear—exactly what we needed for our cover.
I sat at the edge of the bed, unpacking my bag with methodical movements. Javier stood by the window, keeping watch, but his eyes kept drifting to me. She was so composed, so in control. The confidence she exuded only made him feel more vulnerable. I can’t protect her from everything. The realization gnawed at him.
“This is where it gets tricky,” I said, breaking the silence. My back was to him as I rifled through my things, pulling out a few tools—tiny cameras, a recorder, things that could help us collect information.
Javier turned to face me. “You’re not seriously going through with this, are you? We could do this another way, y/n. could work with Steve and—”
“Javier,” I interrupted, my voice calm but unyielding, “this is the only way. We get in, we get close to them, and we take them down. You know that.” I turned to him then, my gaze intense. “You think I want to do this? You think I want to walk into that lion’s den alone? I’m scared, okay? But we have no choice. This is the mission.”
He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair, frustration mounting. “I didn’t sign up for this to watch you get yourself killed. I don’t care what they say—I’m not letting you go in without me.”
My eyes softened, but there was a fire there too—an unspoken challenge. “You think I’m going to let you sit back and do nothing while I do all the work?” I smiled, but there was a sadness behind it. “No, Peña. We’re doing this together.”
My words hit harder than he expected. He knew I was right. I wasn’t just a colleague; I was someone he cared for deeply. And no matter how dangerous this mission was, how much he wanted to pull me out of it, he knew I was too far gone, too committed to the cause.
“We stick to the plan,” he said, his voice steady but his heart racing. “No deviations. And if it gets too hot, we bail, understood?”
I gave a curt nod. “Understood.”
Hours later, we found ourselves slipping through the shadows of the hotel lobby, avoiding the few scattered guests and staff. We were blending in, just another couple heading out for a drink at a nearby bar—at least, that’s what we looked like. The reality was much more dangerous.
As we stepped outside, the cool air hit us, and the dark streets of Bogotá stretched ahead. We kept our pace steady, a practiced, natural rhythm that made us appear just like anyone else.
The silence between us was thick now, the weight of our shared understanding pressing down on us. As we walked, Javier stole a glance at me. The streetlights flickered across my face, highlighting the sharpness of my features and the determined set of my jaw.
“You know, we should have gone for the beach,” he said, his voice dry, trying to lighten the mood. “Less… murder and more margaritas.”
My lips twitched at the corner, but my gaze remained forward. “You’re such a romantic. Maybe next time.”
Javier snorted softly. “Right, because you’re the expert on romance.”
I didn’t reply, but the briefest of smiles crossed my face. It was enough. For a split second, everything felt normal, the weight of the world lifting. But the moment passed, and they were back in our roles—partners on a dangerous mission, with nothing but the night ahead of us.
My voice was barely a whisper as I signaled for him to follow. “We get the intel, get out. No heroics.”
“I never do heroics,” he whispered back, a wry smile tugging at his lips, but the tension in his chest wouldn’t subside.
We were in this together. For better or worse.
The dim lighting of the bar cast long shadows over the wooden floors, the clinking of glasses and low hum of conversation blending into the background. Me and Javier settled in a quiet corner, our eyes trained on the man across the room. The air was thick with tension; their target—an up-and-coming drug dealer with connections to the Cali Cartel—was just a few feet away, oblivious to the surveillance being conducted on him.
Javier sipped his beer, his gaze never wavering from the man as he spoke in a hushed tone. “Keep it cool. He’s been making moves with the Cali, but we don’t have enough to move on him yet. Not until we see who he’s meeting.”
I nodded, my fingers tapping lightly on the edge of her glass. I was used to this, the waiting game, the constant assessment of every word and gesture. But the closer the man got to our corner, the more I could feel the rising pressure. My heart rate quickened, and I adjusted in my seat, making sure not to give anything away.
For a moment, I thought it was just my nerves. But then, the man’s eyes flicked toward us. It was subtle, but enough to make me freeze. He was staring right at us now, his eyes narrowing as if he recognized something—or someone.
Javier didn’t flinch, but he did stiffen, his posture subtly shifting to block me from view. He kept his gaze trained on the man, but it was clear something was off.
“Stay calm,” he muttered, barely audible.
My pulse quickened, and I could’ve feel the tension rising. The man was making his way toward us, his steps deliberate. My mind raced, weighing the options. We had to make a move, and fast, before we were caught.
Then, the man stopped. He was only a few feet away, and it was too close. His eyes flickered toward them again, suspicion flickering in his gaze. He wasn’t convinced yet, but I could see the gears turning in his head. This was it.
Before I could react, Javier moved in a blur. He pushed me against the wall, his body pressing against mine, blocking her from view. I had no time to process what was happening before his lips found mine, a forceful kiss that stunned me into silence.
The kiss wasn’t romantic—far from it. It was a calculated move, a way to shut me up before we were exposed. The force of it was enough to stop me from saying anything, to make sure the man wouldn’t overhear a word or catch on to the game we were playing.
My breath caught in my throat, my mind racing as I tried to comprehend what just happened. Javier held the kiss for only a moment longer than necessary, his hand firmly at my side, as if anchoring her to the wall. When he finally pulled away, he didn’t look at me. His eyes were back on the man, who seemed to be lost in thought, not quite sure what to make of the scene in front of him.
“Stay cool,” Javier whispered, his breath still hot against my ear.
My heart was still pounding, my body pressed against the wall, but I nodded. The man took one last glance at us, his eyes lingering a moment too long before he turned and walked away.
I exhaled sharply, my voice barely a whisper. “You’re lucky that worked.”
Javier’s lips curled into a faint, almost smug smile. “I’m always lucky.”

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥’𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫
the salesman (gong ji-cheol) x f/reader — squid game
At a Halloween party, masks fall and tempers ignite. A clash of fists becomes something darker—intimate and consuming. When the chaos settles, one leaves with bruised knuckles, the other with a dangerous secret.
———————————————————————————
The Halloween party was a blur of pounding bass, shifting shadows, and swirling masks. Y/N moved through the chaos, her heart racing. Somewhere in the sea of bodies and flashing lights, he was watching her. She could feel it.
The lead had brought her here, and she wasn’t leaving until she found him.
Her breath hitched when she saw him.
Standing near the edge of the bar, his figure was unmistakable—tall, poised, and exuding the maddening confidence that haunted her thoughts. Dressed in a sleek black suit, he wore a plain white mask, as if daring her to uncover him.
She shoved through the crowd, her hands clenching into fists. When she reached him, she grabbed his arm, forcing him to turn.
“Is it you?” she demanded, her voice sharp and low.
He tilted his head slightly, the mask hiding his expression. His voice, though muffled, was infuriatingly calm.
“Should it be?”
Her grip tightened, her nails digging into his sleeve.
“Take it off.”
He chuckled softly, slipping his arm free.
“And ruin the fun?”
“Stop running!” she snapped, stepping after him.
“I’m not running,” he replied smoothly, disappearing into the crowd.
Her blood boiled as she shoved past the masked partygoers, following him into a quieter hallway. The pounding music faded into a low hum, and the flickering candlelight cast long shadows on the walls.
“You’re predictable,” his voice came from behind her, low and mocking.
She spun around, her fists clenched. He leaned casually against the wall, his mask gleaming in the faint light.
“Take it off,” she demanded again, her voice sharp and unyielding.
“And if I don’t?” he teased, his head tilting slightly.
Her patience snapped. “I said, take it off!”
Slowly, he raised his hands, unfastening the mask. The deliberate motion made her stomach twist with anticipation and rage. When the mask fell away, his face came into view.
The sharp angles of his jaw, the faint smirk pulling at his lips, and the dark, unreadable look in his eyes—it was him.
“Happy now?” he asked softly.
Her fist flew before he could say another word.
The punch landed squarely on his jaw, snapping his head to the side. He staggered back a step, raising his hand to his lip where blood now smeared across his fingers.
For a moment, his expression darkened. Then his smirk returned, sharper, more dangerous.
“Finally,” he muttered, his voice lower now. “I was wondering when you’d stop pretending.”
Before she could swing again, he closed the distance between them in a single step. His hand shot out, grabbing her wrist. His grip was ironclad as he twisted her arm, spinning her around and slamming her back against the wall.
“Still so predictable,” he murmured, his breath brushing her ear.
“Let me go!” she snarled, thrashing against him.
“Why would I do that?” he said softly, his voice edged with amusement. “When you look so much better like this?”
Her chest heaved as she glared up at him, her fury sparking against his calm composure.
“I’ll make you pay for this,” she spat.
“You’re welcome to try,” he replied, leaning closer. His dark eyes searched hers, the faint smirk on his lips infuriating her further. “But we both know how this ends.”
“Shut up,” she growled, her voice trembling with anger.
His smirk widened as his head tilted slightly.
“Make me.”
Before she could respond, his lips crashed against hers.
The kiss was rough, a collision of anger and dominance that left her breathless. She froze for a moment, stunned by the force of it, before shoving at his chest. He didn’t budge, his grip on her wrist tightening as his free hand cupped her jaw, tilting her face to deepen the kiss.
Her mind raced, a volatile mix of fury and confusion surging through her. She hated him, loathed him, but the kiss was consuming, leaving her disoriented and furious in equal measure.
When he finally pulled back, his dark eyes locked onto hers, his lips curling into a faint smile.
“There she is,” he murmured, his voice soft and taunting.
Her breath came in short gasps, her hands trembling as she shoved against him again. This time, he stepped back slightly, only to pull a small syringe from his pocket.
Her eyes widened. “Don’t you dare—”
The needle pricked her neck before she could finish, and the drug took effect quickly. Her body sagged, her vision swimming as her strength drained away.
His POV
The syringe fell to the floor as she went limp in his arms. He caught her easily, one arm circling her waist to hold her upright.
For a moment, he simply stood there, his gaze lingering on her face. The fire that usually burned in her eyes was gone, replaced by a serene stillness. Her lips, swollen from the kiss, were parted slightly as soft breaths escaped them.
“You’re so beautiful when you’re not fighting,” he murmured, brushing a strand of hair from her face. His thumb grazed her cheek, trailing down to her jawline. Her skin was warm and impossibly soft beneath his touch.
“You make everything so difficult,” he said quietly, his voice more thoughtful now. “And yet, I don’t want it any other way.”
His fingers tangled briefly in her hair before smoothing it back. She let out a faint sigh, her body leaning into his unconsciously.
“You don’t even realize how dangerous you are, do you?” he murmured, his lips curving into a faint smirk. “That’s what makes you so interesting.”
Adjusting his grip, he crouched slightly, sliding an arm beneath her knees. He lifted her into his arms, cradling her against his chest with ease.
“Let’s get you home,” he muttered as he carried her through the quiet hallway.
Outside, the night air was cool and still as he approached his car, carefully placing her in the passenger seat. He glanced at her peaceful face, brushing a stray strand of hair from her forehead.
“You’ll come after me again,” he said softly, almost amused. “But for now, just rest.”
Sliding into the driver’s seat, he started the car, his thoughts quiet as he drove her to her home.
When they arrived, he carried her up to the door, fishing her keys from her pocket to unlock it. Inside, he laid her gently on the couch, pulling a blanket over her.
His gaze lingered on her for a moment longer before he turned and disappeared into the night.
