Danny and Damian are twins but they get separated at age 7, years later when they’re both 14 they both are going to high school and their schools decide to create a program where they wind up as pen pals to each other unknowing that they’re talking too each other as it’s been set up to be anonymous. Danny decides to take a leap of faith and encrypts a message about the media blackout around his town and how they’re overrun with ghosts and could use the Justice Leagues help through out all of his letters knowing that very few could actually understand it but he just felt so tired and this was the only way he could think to get any help for his town.
Damian just wonders who exactly his pen pal is to encrypt these letters like this.

Wyvern is still at the shelter. My betrothed didn’t want to know but I couldn’t resist checking on him. I look every day to see if he’s found his people yet and I get devastated every time I see his little bat ears at the bottom of the page looking hopeful.
I tried to make a Craigslist ad to talk him up but it got flagged and removed. I hate the idea of him in there, I just want him to have a nice home and love.

Here is a screenshot of my heavily modded ship in Starbound!! I've been working on it for a couple days now and I really like how it's turned out :3 I still have the cockpit to make pretty, but I have no idea what I want to do with it.
Most of the furniture is from "WW Furniture" (Steam Workshop link)!! I've installed too many mods to list, but if there's anything in particular you're curious about I can absolutely get the mod pages for you!!

she's starting to get into tarot now too, and I think I get prickly about her picking up interests I already picked up for myself (or tried to) because like. I have very very little self, between how I grew up and how sick I've been. she gets to have a career and a passion and a self and a gender and all this shit I don't. so it bugs me when she starts to step into these surface level things because I don't really. have anything else.

I'm physically unable to shuffle cards.#I've been actively and repeatedly trying to get a card shuffler that will fit tarot cards.#but I can't fucking get one for the life of me.#so I can't actually use my deck even though I really want to.#meanwhile she got a beginner deck with the cheat sheet right on the cards and she's already like 'I wanna table at a ren faire :)'#it's like the craft fair last year when afterwards she was like 'oh I'd like to sell my crafts at pike place I think :)'#and she went into my field way after me but she did it the normal way so everyone believes she's even more qualified than she is#while no one will believe I know anything because I don't have letters.#it bothers me. it bothers me a lot. but it feels stupid to bring it up over and over.#I mean like. #The Sun and The Void#aroaessidhe 2023 reads#hm. haha. surface level this is kinda interesting and cool but i am going to follow with so many complaints#though I feel like it didn’t go into the magic or worldbuilding as much as I wanted and it felt irrelevant to the characters#like how does the magic even work? idk man#though I feel like it didn’t go into it as much as I wanted and it felt irrelevant to the characters#very slow to start and the pacing is weird. it would also go ages without having the other POV. very disjointed?#it felt like the first 60% was just context for the group of characters getting together as a group and then it was a bit predisposed with#They’re A Group! even tho. they're barely a group for long#the authors note mentions that the story concept started with a line about the god and ritual and…..yeah I can kind of tell#I feel like everything was built up around it in a way that ultimately that part didn’t fit right#I never bought that any of them were actually like fully committed to the evil dark magic? and also there’s this plot twist#that they have to fully kill the sacrifices & I was like…did we not already know that? girl r you stupid what do you think sacrifice means#also#oh my god at like half way one of the MCs is like. oh finally this guy who I’ve been exchanging letters with for months turned up to get me#away from here! by the way I’ve been exchanging letters with this guy and we’re friends! and like. she’d been doing nothing much for the#last 10% of the book why was that not like….shown as something she was doing? and like build up the friendship for the reader instead of#just dropping it on us - and also that we know the character from the other POV. and hes a racist prick. and we're supposed to believe she'#charmed by him because of this letter writing WE DIDN’T SEE….. why.#and then also that is like. he’s a shitbag and it’s obviously not romantic at all. he’s manipulative and terrible to her#EXCEPT at the end it implies his bad behaviour is because demon and oh uwu he gets all beat up and maybe hes sowwy now#and starts to imply she likes and is attracted to him? and I get the impression the next book is gonna be like evil power couple dynamic?#which. feels like the first concept the author had; and then tried to build up to that but not effectively lmao#for the lesbians:#I DO APPRECIATE having an assumed love interest then realising that that was idealised and actually you have feelings#for this other person you’ve become friends with! nice slow switch up. though quite brief#I do however dislike that when she admitted her feelings to the first LI and she rejected her it was still framed as the other’s fault#for not reciprocating the feelings….worst trope….also like. it kind of conflated her not feeling that way to her having a bit of class disc#which. yikes? oh my god stop villainising people for not reciprocating romantic feelings (ALSO they turn out to be related anyway 🤪)#i just feel like the romance switchover could have been done with more nuance and complexity

#My OCs#Ángel Suarez#My edit#I shamefully forgot about Ángel’s birthday last year#so I’m making it up by making him a gift#Ajhdnfjf alright some explanation on my symbolism choices because I’m sure some of them are unclear XD#Ángel obviously means ‘angel’#but it also means ‘messenger’#and Ángel has quite an important storyline connected with sending letters#so I chose a pic with letters not with an angel XD#As for animals I thought of a monkey at first#But monkeys are rather mischievous than playful?#Ajdhnf I don’t know as much as Ángel might like pranks or such he never means bad#and even if he hurts someone he obviously never does it on purpose#but it might happen because he might be tactless x)#So I chose an otter because really their description sounds fitting#They’re a symbol of balancing out work and rest living in the present and enjoying every instant of life#which is what I want Ángel to be but I’m not sure how well I’m portraying it XD#As for elements I’m sticking with the main four so those are fire water air and earth#But honestly I’d gladly choose the sun for him XD#And as for stones honestly I feel like they don’t symbolize anything XD#They’re just boosting some certain types of energy if you wear them#But well citrine is boosting happiness self-confidence and make you look at the bright side#so let’s pretend this is the same as symbolism XD#And the last name was painful because now I don’t understand why I chose Suarez for Ángel x)#I’m pretty sure I saw that surname having the meaning ‘a soldier of something’???#and it would make sense since he’s a fenced but I can’t find this meaning anymore????#Anyway Suarez means swineherd and I’ll interpret it in the way that Ángel is just a simple guy who lives in the suburbs XD#which is inaccurate because Ángel’s family is wealthy enough but shhhh#Anyway happy birthday Ángel you deserve the world and I love you to death
