I'm 👉👈 close to finishing the silent hill 2 remake, and I'm sad about it but also I feel like I can breathe now cos it has been just impending doom and dread this whole game LOL. Tbh that's exactly what I look for in a horror game though, this has been so damn good, my favorite horror game in a long ass time.

Anyway HUGE difference between "I never finished Three Houses" (the story is probably good but my fuckinh god the calendar based gameplay wants my head on a pike. Missing important events/interactions due to the time based nature wants me DEAD. The general inflexibility when it comes to whatever cast of characters you're stuck with for what run like YEAH you can recruit dif students school arc but. The options still feel soooooo limited and if there's a house of characters you just don't vibe with but that's the run ypu have to do. Fuck your entire life. And then there's the time basedness of it all. The arc basedness of it all. The structure of it all IS DESIGNED VERY SPECIFICALLY to fucking Kill Me. You can't even fuck around and give yourself little side quests. The Fucking Time and Structure.) vs "I haven't finished Engage yet" (I have commitment issues 😔 I don't wanna let go.... 😟 I don't want it to be over 😢😢😭💔💔💔)

#re:kinder#not art#so in my case i once saw someone talk about it in a video and some scenes with the very vague context really struck with me#i was like wow...that is so sad... i wonder what goes on#but the thing is i watch videos talking about games like that ALLL THE TIME while im multi-tasking so i FORGOT FOR A YEAR?!?!?#until one day i was sick in pain on my bed could not move. and then it came to me. yes. “RE:KINDER. I SHOULD PLAY IT.” LIKE OUT OF NOWHERE#i will never understand how i dying of pain remembered a game i saw once BY NAME AT LEAST A YEAR LATER when jve heard of so many games#and you wanna know why it stuck with me. i saw in the video an image of the “as if id be reborn as a princess” line#i did not know the context but it was devastating#AND WHEN I PLAYED THE GAME when that scene game i was shocked to silence😭😭 BECAUSE I BASICALLY WENT COMPLETELY BLIND??#I DID NOT KNOW THE LITTLE KID WOULD BE THE ANTAGONIST???? TOO STUNNED FOR WORDS#then i thoughr of it for 20 minutes and bawled my eyes out and realized it was art#so when i got to my second playthrough i CRIED LIKE CRAZYYY😭😭 I WAS BLOWN AWAY IT REALLY HITS YOU#personally it admittedly hit close to home and while it made me bawl my eyes out it was also very comforting i felt very understood#AND IT WAS CRAZY FUN TOO i was not bored once the first time i played through it i was sleepy but i was so excited to keep playing😭😭#its funnt becayse i was initially apprehensive about playing cuz im sensitive to stories where sad things happen to kids#but i played it regardless because i was like “but what if its one of those scary media that hit close to home and i enjoy”#AND I WAS RIGHT. So my switch finally says how many hours I have in Scarlet (my in game profile isn't accurate because of a couple of crashes I had with auto save turned off) and it's 80 and I thought woah! And then I compared it to X on my 3DS which I only played this year and it's 292 skdfjs (which has now beaten the total time I had for Y over the past 9 years)
I know I took extra long to play through it to make sure I wrote down enough info on the story and other info, did the pokedex as I went, AND I've been opening it up to run around the towns and stuff for reference but wow that's a lot!
#for comparison I took my time with the story in scarlet and have almost finished the dex#I haven't even finished the nat dex OR post game story in X yet#(mostly because to finish the nat dex I have to finish the previous games so I can send pokemon up and I've been really taking my time)#I HAVE done some shiny hunting though because I think it's one of my favs to do that in#pokemon#like I don't think I'll get even close to that number with the one playthrough on scarlet#wild

if i ever shut up about how horrible & yet amazing it was to have conquest as my first fire emblem game it means i have been brainwashed
#started with conquest moved on to fe3h complained for 2 years about how fucking easy the maingame was (on normal)#moved on to engage. FAR better mechanically than fe3h imo but i just hate the life sim elements#(i never got into the latter 3 persona games because of that tbh)#so maybe im just a grumpy loser who started with conquest realized the life sim elements were minimal and adapted to that#LIKE#THE MONTHS ARE FINE IN YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. MAYBE EVEN ON THE SECOND. BUT I HAVE OVER 200 HOURS IN 3H#and skipping the months isnt exactly viable either#ive started doing hard/casual & normal/classic so i cant exactly afford to just skip the entire month#plus my current goal is to make a ng+ chain with byleth having s in all skills so.#ive finished cf like 4 times#am once & vw once#still havent finished silver snow because if you think i can play all of part 1 with the eagles & then not follow edelgard#you are mistaken#i cant do that when my beloved jeritza is so close#currently on the fourth? run in the chain and it hurts choosing the blue lions. black eagles forever#genuinely dont care about the political discourse btw i just really like hubert & jeritza#ramblings
