I guess I find the shipping discourse a little funny because fandoms are gonna create ships regardless of the subject matter. I think really heavy, depressing media creates a need for people to see human connection. It’s like a way to cope, you know? More importantly and specific to this game (Mouthwashing), I also find it a little funny just because the devs themselves seem to be leaning towards ~one~ “ship” by retweeting artwork that depicts them as pretty close and protective. They even did an edit of them on that Florence Pugh and that one white guy romance movie with a “what could have been” caption. Sooo tldr the ship drama is kind of dumb. Please block and move on cause the discourse is taking up space on my feed when I’m trying to look for more art of Daisuke lmao

“I do wonder about that day, you know. It feels so cursed.”
“You have no idea,” Harry muttered bitterly before continuing. “Anyway, so, it was the middle of the feast, Quirrell comes to warn us about the mountain troll in the dungeons before doing a dramatic faint right there, in front of everyone, and Dumbledore sends us all off to our dormitories.”
There’s a beat of silence before—
“The dormitories?”
Harry looked up to see Sirius staring at him, aghast. A small smile tilted his lips on one end. “Mhm.”
His godfather takes a deep breath. “Let me get this straight. You have a mountain troll in your school, which is supposed to be warded to high heaven and back, and your Headmaster tells you to wander through the hallways, where said troll could be lurking, to get to your dormitories??”
Harry nodded. “Yes.”
“What about the damn Slytherins? Their dorms are literally in the dungeons. They might be annoying but they don’t deserve to be killed by a thirty feet tall idiot with bad breath.”
“You know,” Harry mused, head tilting in thought, “you might just be the first, and only, adult to consider that. I’m not sure it ever even hit me until now.”
“What.”
“No one cares about the Slytherins, Sirius.”
“What—“
“I mean, I’m not saying they shouldn’t, just that they don’t. Don’t look at me like that, c’mon.”
“Harry, I have no idea what’s going on right now. It feels like I went on a weekend bender and never woke up, you’re literally two minutes in and there’s a mountain troll, a weird professor, a latently homicidal Headmaster, and still no Voldemort. How do I even react to this?” Sirius’ hands moved around frantically as he spoke, getting daste and more erratic with each word.

Hey, on the topic of my own fic writing, I’ve got a question for my followers/fic readers.
I have a tendency to never post any of my writing, because my various unmedicated (I’m working on it) neurodivergences and mental illnesses make it very hard for me to ever finish pieces, and I feel really bad about starting a fic that someone could be really into and then potentially never finishing it when my brain suddenly decides I’m not allowed to write any more of it. So a long time ago I made it a rule for myself that I never post anything until it’s 100% finished, even if I have like multiple chapter that are perfectly ready to be published. Which ultimately leads to me never posting anything and sitting on a hoard of writing that only myself and select friends ever see.
So my question is, it more upsetting to read part of a story that might never get finished? Or to know that there’s writing out there that you don’t get to read just because it’s not finished?
#it can be distressing for me sometimes to read fics that will never be finished because I’m autistic#and so I think I’ve always viewed starting wips through the lence of my own experience and assumed everyone would prefer it if I keep my#writing to myself unless I can commit to finishing it.#but the other day I saw a recent bookmark on one of my unfinished w2h fics#(that I would still love to continue one day bc I have the whole thing meticulously outlined)#that said something to the affect of ‘really cool story it’s unfinished but still definitely worth the read n hey maybe itll update one day’#and it got me thinking that my way of experiencing things isn’t universal#maybe it’s worth more to share my writing with other fans who might love it even if there’s the potential that I may not finish it#maybe part of the reason I never finish anything is because I put too much pressure on creating a complete work rather than writing what I#want to write and enjoying the process even if it means I leave stories incomplete#anyway this is a lot more personal and speculative than I generally like to get on this blog since people follow it to see me draw#gay people kissing#but I’m a lot more likely to get responses on this blog and I could use some feedback#any kind of input is appreciated!!#I have 10s of thousands of words of fic that never see the light of day because of this#rambles#fan fiction#writing

It really brothers me when people keep assuming I’m asexual. I’m aromantic. I never said I was asexual.

Where have I ever stated that I was uncomfortable with those topics?
Not all aromantics are asexual or sensitive to sex.
No one assumes that all asexuals are aroace but everyone assumes all aromantics are inherently also asexual.

first wip shot! this is my first time sculpting a human face so it’s a good start, but the features aren’t right. I probably need to start the whole thing over from the top though bc i think i created the skull shape assuming id do a simpler style but then i started the facial features a lot more realistic lol, so there’s a discrepancy that’ll probably only get worse the more i refine the facial features, but its not bad for a first round!!

Wide? idk how to phrase it#but with ‘cartoony’ styles unless you contrast two characters directly you can make the style kinda wide/chunky and it’ll still Read as lean#(like chibi styles you know?) and i don’t want augustus to look like that#so i’m having to figure out how to get the batting on and have it distributed and sag like fat actually does#it’s fun! idk i like to figure stuff out. it’s all a little meaningless bc augustus wears exclusively long/oversized clothes#but that just means if i can’t figure it out then its fine !#i like you too

Sometimes people will criticize a piece of media for things about it they don’t like and some bozo-on-the-internet’s advice will be “well if you expanded your horizons and interacted with media that fundamentally Does Not Interest you…”
#txt#saw someone in the dragon age tag saying that yeah dav’s writing may not be great compared to other things#but there’s other media out there that has what you want if you just take a look at games that are Completely Different In Every Way#I don’t know why it’s such a widely unaccepted idea that people have preferences pertaining to the genres they consume#like if I’m upset with a game that’s combat heavy and plays a specific way#why would the solution automatically become ‘look for a niche game made twenty years ago that has absolutely no combat’#<- an example to describe the larger point before it’s assumed that’s the only argument I’m making#like there are multiple genres of games for a reason and I’m not saying you can’t enjoy multiple types#but I AM saying that when someone has very valid criticisms of a game that could have been and should have been done better#it’s kinda dumb to assume all their issues with it can be solved just by looking elsewhere#YES there are other games we would enjoy of course there are#but this is the fourth game in a series and most of us are here because OF that series not because we’re out searching for any old game to#play like this is about being a long time fan for a lot of people#and even if it wasn’t#it’s not like I’m going to be looking for a game that plays like dragon age#be unsatisfied with it in general#and then go looking for…say a puzzle game in a niche cartoon style with no combat…#that arguably has a story that’s much better than dav#because just because the story has what I’m looking for doesn’t mean I’ll be satisfied with an experience so divorced from the one I was#looking forward to in the first place that ultimately let me down#a thousand tags because my thoughts got away from me as per usual#rant tag
