What makes the fact that gerard accidentally revealed they were in the studio be 100% about new music ISNT that he mentioned being in the studio (because that can be for rehearsals) but the fact he freaked out and turned into a goddamn computer after going "beep boop beep look at me i'm a computer man!!" oh sweet babygirl you fucked up LMFAOOO

The thing that gets me about Celine is that she tries to be both a mother figure and a demon hunter, but she fails.
She tries to be a mother but fails because she can't love her daughter wholeheartedly, because Rumi is a demon and Celine is a demon hunter. She tries to be a demon hunter but fails because she can't kill a demon even when the demon is asking her to, because Rumi is her daughter and Celine is her mother.

one of the contrasts i really love about dirk and toss is the dissonance between the images they project and their philosophy. todd speaks with harshness and negativity (particularly toward himself), but his actions show a battle hardened tendency toward optimism lurking beneath the asshole. he buys into dirk’s holisticness whole-heartedly once it has results. his immediate instinct in the time loop is to “fix everything,” and he takes all the signs of the loop being inevitable as indications that this is a viable possibility. he chases down a rabbit for hours because it COULD be dirk. dirk, for all his yellow jackets and upbeat demeanor, is more inclined toward pessimism. he accepts death in the lightbulb portion of the death maze. he’s genuinely shocked when todd returns after their falling out in s1. he flat out gives up MULTIPLE times in s2. it’s the difference between putting up a more closed-off shield because you so desperately want to believe things can get better that you don’t want the negativity to be able to touch you and playing up a facade of positivity you know things are inevitably going to get worse, so you might as well reel in what good you can before it all goes up in smoke. it’s the difference between living trapped a hole you accidentally dug yourself into, and that you therefore know subconsciously there is a way out of, and being unceremoniously shoved into a grave blackwing dug for you. it’s why they work so well together — they see through each other’s bullshit, because they’re both bullshitting in the opposite direction.

Considering Ponyboy says Dally spent three years on the wild side of New York but a) never actually specifies when b) doesn’t ever remark on a period of time where Dally was gone from Tulsa c) refers to the gang as people he grew up with who therefore would’ve been in Tulsa for at least most of Ponyboy’s childhood, I’d like to share the vision of Dally’s three years in New York being his first three years. Little infant toddler Dally still boosting teen!Dally’s street cred over a decade later
#yes I know characters talk about him getting involved in gang wars and the like#but you know what maybe he was just a really early bloomer#og#for real though what the heck is his timeline what is his backstory#the musical may have changed it but at least they made it make sense. the book is just ???#because pony talks about dally’s New York time like it was far in the past#but then he would’ve been like?? eight??#certainly not old enough to get into the shenanigans dally allegedly got into#and if it was more recently why does Ponyboy frame it like it happened in the far past. based on the style of the rest of his narration if#it happened recently he would’ve said so#and furthermore see point C which implies that dally did spend most of Ponyboy’s childhood around him#which means he went to New York and then came back and Ponyboy just doesn’t remark at all on Why he did that#or why he went to New York in the first place 😭#dallas winston#the outsiders

Ok random, but just b/c I hear a lotta people saying that Ponyboy should be a middle schooler: He’s fourteen, and turned fourteen in July, so if he hadn’t skipped a grade he’d actually be a ninth grader, not an eighth grader.
The thing is that back in the day, elementary school went to sixth grade, and instead of middle school they had junior high, which was seventh grade to ninth grade. Ponyboy skipped a grade and is now a fourteen year old tenth grader, which was the first year of high school in the 60s.
So uh yeah not to be all “um actually 🤓” but I’m 95% sure that kid is the age of a high school freshman lol
#oh so it was just the Canadian system back in the day#that’s lovely for me actually that makes it so easy to understand lmao#but also hang on as a pathfinders leader (jr high branch of girl guides) I’m processing for the first time that Ponyboy was the same age as#my third-years#that’s so young oh my god#like I knew he was young. obviously. he’s 14. but knowing that and comparing it to real life people of that age are real different things#the outsiders#ponyboy curtis

I am so so so so grateful that Kpop demon hunters was not only good but fiercely genuine in every aspect of it. In a world of self-deprecating Disney movies and cinema sins dings I am so happy that what is considered a kind of cringe hobby in America got a movie about how loving music and the people who make it can save the world.
