You know, I can only really be grateful.

Because I thought I’d never get to play DA4– I thought it would never come out, or I’d die before it did.

It was so long. I thought I’d just get tired of trying to keep going and uh… stop trying.

I didn’t think I’d ever hear the end of a story which deeply influenced me— has changed me, as a person.

I remember playing DA:O in high school and doing the Zevran romance, half accidentally, and getting to that part where he tells you he’s bisexual, and he asks the Warden if that’s okay. And it was like he was asking me. And I hadn’t considered it before— is it okay? Because I sort of knew, then that I was queer. But I was pretending not to, because I wasn’t sure if it was okay.

I was tired of adding differences to the tally. I didn’t want another thing that set me apart from other people.

I remember not answering for a second. And then deciding it was, and it felt really… it didn’t feel like just another choice in a game, to me. It felt like an affirmation. A tacit declaration. Yes. It’s okay.

This series has meant so much to me. It has taught me about who I am as a person.

And Veilguard was so gloriously, unashamedly queer. It was celebratory; it was poignant and sad and beautiful, and it felt like a letter to the fans. I feel so fucking loved, playing that game. I feel like finally someone made something for me, for people like me. I felt safe, when real life feels and has felt unsafe, for a long time.

I’m going to be so sad if there are never any more Dragon Age games.

But it’s going to be okay. Because I’m here, with all of you, and it belongs to us, too. Thedas has thousands more stories to tell and sights to show us, in our hands. We’re going to make such beautiful things. ❤️

Because while yes there are Apple haters who completely overlook the complexity of her character but more often than not it’s those who like her that in trying to defend her take away the complexity of her character.

Like some people can’t stand the complexity of her character so they water her down

Anyways it’s really cool that marvel had a character who was suddenly introduced into a new timeline where they didnt previously exist and has to deal with the ramifications of that alongside the loss of their previous mentor figure and friends.

And its really on brand that they barely explored any of that with miles and made up a new white boy with some extra fanfiction style sad ritz to have that storyline instead 🤡

I’m so tired with people continuing to tag me in posts with tags in the posts implying I’m attempting to gatekeep dpxdc.

I’m just asking folks to read some wikis or maybe watch a DC tv show to get more ideas because the content in DC is so expansive. I’ve been trying to push this since July of 2022.

I’m writing it like this so people just understand. I just want to show folks the cool thing I enjoy and That theres so much more content to play with when you either do (or don’t idk at this point bro) choose to look more into the greater fandoms of the Crossover.

You can write whatever you want, I would just think it would be cool to see the looking into cool DC stuff by the community.

I’m not gatekeeping or trying to prevent people from writing fanfic. I read all forms of dpxdc fics at every level of fanon to canon to AUs to Ghost AUs.

I’m just trying to push a cool thing I like to show other people the cool thing I like?

daryl!johnny sounds older. i don’t wanna say more mature but he sounds like. yk he sounds like the real johnny. not the johnny pony sees, not the johnny that the gang sees, or a soc sees. but the real johnny. johnny who’s a 16 yr old kid who just killed somebody, johnny who alongside his best friend is wanted for murder. his best friend who’s always been a little wise for his age but, he’s really acting his age now. he really looks like a child now to johnny. daryl!johnny who’s parents hate him but even still he’s never really had to take care of himself and someone else because the rest of the gang were always ready to jump in. daryl!johnny is suddenly forced to be in control, forced to make sure they’ll be alright because one look at pony and johnny can’t bring himself to make him do anything. daryl!johnny who forgets he a child too for a moment. daryl!johnny who knew the whole time that pony was never going to run away, he loves his brothers too much, and johnny knew how much it was returned. all he can think abt is he’d loved it if his parents were even half as worried as pony’s brothers. all he can think about is that it’s his fault ponyboy can’t see his brothers, it’s his fault they’re in hiding, ponyboy didn’t do nothing. johnny may not have a family who’d be this scared or worried so he’s no reason to go home, but who is he to stop pony from being able to see his brothers.

i strayed so far from the plot BUT daryl!johnny is the real johnny. he’s not the “puppy of the gang”, sure he looks young and the way he carries himself doesn’t help, but he’s not 14. at the end of the day, he’s the same age as soda ace and steve. he’s just as mature as they are. daryl!johnny is the johnny that remembered to buy soap, he’s the johnny that stands up to dally and is on equal footing with him. daryl!johnny is the one who’s dad beat him with a 4x4 and didn’t cry. daryl!johnny is the johnny who’s been jaded and quiet snd thoughtful and overall a lot more reserved since bob first jumped him.
