you don't see a lot of mega bloks destiny stuff.

So I made my own!

fully custom painted figure(as well as a good bit of custom sculpt by yours truly)

I've been working on the base all day but did the all the foam work last night.

All made with just some cork and xps foam, as well as some terrain paste and plastic stock. Of course also some fake mega bloks pieces I had left over after getting a tank from aliexpress

That is of course not counting the paints and pigments.

I have been experimenting a bit with building bases over the past month or so. And Mars, especially Mars in destiny. Has been tickling my brain awfully for as long as I remember.

So I have steadily been doing more and more complex bases(of course this is still rather simple) and I just really wanted to capture the feeling of Mars in the game. I tried just doing Mars with the rocks and sand. But it felt too generic, too standard Mars.

So I tried doing a ruined building, because that very much dominates the environment in game. But that wasn't feasible with the size of the base or with the materials I could afford.

So I waited until I had money again, and splooged a bit on materials, like plastic stock and xps foam. And I got to work, the mega bloks I had on hand were also just a coincidence, and I just lunched at the opportunity.

Either way, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and kinda proud with how good it looks.

I hope it inspires at least one other person to grab their tools and start working on this toyline that is so near and dear to my heart.

The whole "breasts shouldn't be politicized because the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies!" can be a fine jumping-off point, but I really wish people thought deeper than that when we talk about the ways in which bodies are politicized and restricted.

Like, why's it that when we talk about breasts, they must have some Higher Purpose? It's true that breasts aren't inherently sexual, but they aren't valuable solely because they can potentially feed a baby. A human body doesn't have to serve a Higher Purpose in order for it to not be legislated against or policed, and I just wish people would remember it isn't always about babies, about other people, about anything else other than the people who have that body.

Man, it's cool and all if you see a metaphor for marginalisation in the monstrous, and if you want the power fantasy of 'what if you could just eat anybody who threatened you/pissed you off'. Me too.

However, as soon as you start saying 'no, these monsters are a 1:1 on Specific Marginalised Group, and you have to treat them in the fiction like they are directly representative of real human members of the marginalised group', BUT you also, in the fiction, make them hurt/kill/eat humans? And then try to shame me, your audience, for noticing or engaging with the bit where they kill people, because you made them directly representative of a real-world marginalised group? Y'ALL. Y'ALL so for a long time I've believed that "the sun" in Meursault's story is Carmen, and I went to check Hell's Chicken's dialogue to see exactly how he said that he'd dealt with distortions before, and... you know what else he said?

To my knowledge, it is a phenomenon where an individual morphs into a form often unfit to be considered “human”. It has no known causes, and the appearances were all different.

Meursault, who, in his book, was judged by the court to be soulless.

so i noticed when playing the epilogue that illithid Tav wants to eat brains, but the specific part of the brain they want to eat depends on the character, so i looked through the parsed dialogue and compiled all of them!

which part of each brain a mindflayer Tav would savor:
