i think part of the reason lost media videos are so fun is that it more ethically scratches the same itch as true crime. a bunch of people online being amateur sleuths and going down rabbit holes is a lot easier to enjoy when theyre looking for a cereal commercial from 1991 instead of liike bothering the families of murder victims

#yeahhhhhh#and the issue for me isnt even that spock is in a relationship (with a woman or otherwise)#it was never going to be my favorite plotline but it's whatever#but it's the way the show seems obsessed with just the aesthetics/vision of (always straight) romance#without ever being interested in building deeper relationships#and it's especially the case with spock where in s1 it was tolerable but now it feels like EVERY SCENE with him is just bland romance#and honestly same with pike/batel#every episode this season has hinged on Bland Straight Romance and im so tired#snw#snw negativity

#new who i was in a constant state of rewatching for at least 2 years#not necessarily in order but i've seen all s1-8 at least 5 times. probably closer to 10#i havent been in the star trek pits long enough to rewatch any of the longer shows more than twice (ds9 & voyager)#i've seen s1 of picard at least 5 times but s2 & 3 a lot less#and funnily enough i think im on my fifth rewatch of WoT and i only started this show at the end of april rip#(the 5 times isnt entirely my fault. i watched it by myself. then with my mom. then with a friend. then i wanted to make transcripts.#then my mom wanted to rewatch the show after she read the book bc she also has the brainworms apparently)#oh and if we're counting audio series then i've listened to gallifrey 10 times (on my 11th go right now)#im a very normal person who isnt neurotic about fiction
