Starting with nu who and working your way out from there is a weird experience

At first the Time War is just the Doctor’s tragic backstory, and it’s sad but he’s the last of his kind and has feels about it, it’s fine

And then you watch classic who and suddenly realize that oh, there’s all these people and he doesn’t like most of them but they’re all dead and gone now after being twisted by an unimaginable level of war

And then you get into the EU Gallifrey and their system is so messed up and no one is a good person but they have lives, they feel real, and they’re all going to be used as cannon fodder through one regeneration after another and there will be generations who don’t even know Gallifreyan culture because they were made only to die in the war and—

Sequel to Time Lords don’t base their relationships on affection: I also don’t think most of them can conceptualize death. They’re trained to see regeneration like changing clothes. If you spend your whole life on Gallifrey and don’t do stupid things, you could easily live to 10,000. Parents die before children, sure, but not by much in the scheme of things. It’s more common to stop talking to family or friends or lovers than to lose them.

Just thinking about how alt!Romana I was told it had been 6 months and she should be over her husband, and how not only does nobody but Leela seem to mourn Andred, most of them don’t seem to understand her grief. There’s more but brain fog

It'll never not amaze me the depths and vast expansive-ness of Doctor Who spin-off content. Can any other fandom or show truly say that they have a 'universe' in the same way that Doctor Who does? You have decades of audio dramas, licensed, partially licensed, and unlicensed. Books about the main character, books about the main characters friends, books about timelines that never were or might have been! Movies with villains from the show and promotional shorts that occupy a secret third special place between plain fun and actual canon. Is all of it canon? Is none of it canon besides the show? Are only the bits we like canon? YOU decide, because you have decades and mountains and worlds to choose from.

Not to mention that this all gives fans the easiest in to make fan-content, fan doctors, etc and they do, hundreds of them! They have been for decades!

The Whoniverse is ever expanding, vast in a way that few can truly grasp onto, and you'll never be done discovering it. I'll never not be in awe of it.

Hello, friends! Since the final days of the @theholmwoodfoundation kickstarter are coming up, I decided to have some fun and possibly help my friends to hopefully make the full season 1 of Holmwood come true. There are only a few days left and they are about 30% away from their goal, but maybe we could help them together!

The story is based on Dracula book and if you love vampires, horrors and podcasts, that's a project for you. Also for Gallifrey audio fans, Sean Carlsen is playing one of the main characters there, so!!! So tomorrow I will be art streaming and finishing this Holmwood sketch of the main characters of the podcast Maddie and Jeremy. We will talk a bit about the podcast, as well as regular stuff we talk on streams (Gallifrey audios, Hadestown, plus I wanted to gush about discworld), so please come, have some fun and support the project!
