A literate roleplay

In the wilds of Alaska lies a glacial valley divided between two warring Clans. Haunted by a history of bloodshed, tyranny, and endless war.

Following a 12 moon timeskip, new leaders emerge in the Clans. Following Shiverstar’s death, his deputy, Houndslash, is on the path to lead RiftClan and hopefully work towards peace between the Clans, while in RidgeClan, the once community focused Clan is left even more divided when both their contentious leader and well-liked deputy die suddenly in a rockfall. Left with only their newly appointed healer, Snowgale, to guide them, some warriors are vying for power hoping to win their Clanmates’ and StarClan’s approval.

Tension is higher than ever, and the cats of these Clans must rush to discover the truth behind the conflict or face destruction at the claws of the other.

☀️RidgeClan, cats of the golden cliffs, who admire the jump and never fear the fall. A Clan that once valued community above all, has become a shamble of its former self, left divided ever since their previous leader, Soaringstar, made the controversial decision to crush RiftClan under an avalanche and exile the RidgeClan cats who warned them, with two RidgeClan cats left dead in the process. This group lives high up in the mountains, traversing rocky cliffs, glaciers, and grassy foothills to hunt.

Why do we do auditions?

Auditions ensure the quality of writing and characters in the roleplay. You can re-audition every wave as many times as you want or need. If you don't get in on your first try, you can always ask the mods what they think should be improved to get a higher rating next audition.

Audition waves encourage activity both in the roleplay and in the community. It's a great time for members and spectators to build relationships, between each other and their characters. Many of our members love helping spectators with building characters and navigating the audition process, and our staff is always available for questions if you need. As a spectator, you’ll have plenty of time to prepare your character for the next wave and make friends in the process!

Cats of Thundergrowth: Bishop Blizzardstorm

Names: Blizzard, Blizzardpaw, Blizzardstorm

Identity: Cisgender molly- she/her

A large blue-gray tabby molly with patches of yellow scales on her shoulders and the back of her neck. While large she is very skinny for a Thunder and has very long thin legs, making her one of the tallest cats in all of Thundergrowth, which makes her very imposing when she lectures you.

Blizzardstorm was born to Loonflower of Thundergrowth and Shreddedear of Windmoor, but she wouldn't learn of her father until he came barging into the camp all but demaning her and her sister, Snow. Her mother giving her up without a fight formed a crack in her heart, and it only got bigger when she learn that her uncle Goosefeather was the one to force Loonflower to fight for the sisters, which caused her death under the claws of Hawkheart. This also strained her relationship with her father, who the Bishop of Windmoor had exile him to Thundergrowth to be the father he wished to be. Blaming him for the death of her mother, and turning his attention to Harpyshine, a Drifter who recently joined, as if Loonflower didn't matter...as if she and Snow didn't matter. The nick in her ear was the last gift Shreddedear gave her when she tried to gain his attention. The crack grew bigger in her heart.

Of course her relationship didn't help with her relationship with Snow, the two sisters pulling apart once they were made into apprentices. While Blizzardpaw wanted to make Shreddedear proud of her and pay attention, Snowpaw wanted nothing to do with their Sire. She hated that she share the blood of someone from a different Kingdom, hated the fact that she started grew feathers along her neck. Blizzardpaw and then Blizzardstorm had tried her best to help her sister, but it didn't help with Thistleclaw of Riverglade started whispering in Snowgale's ears, saying that maybe a new start would help her. The two sisters would argue about it fiercely, but Blizzardstorm would gain claw marks as a goodbye as Snowgale went to Riverglade to join her mate. And thus the crack grew even more.

The only good thing in her life that Blizzardstorm thinks is her kit, Rosetteanthem. Born from in a litter of three from a bout of weakness between her and Haddockbounce of Riverglade, she couldn't help but love her three kits. But that winter from Chinoa's wails were fierce. She needed to bring all her attention towards her kingdom as her predecessor and uncle was slowly wasting away, she was all but ruling Thundergrowth. So with a heavy heart, she gave two of her kits to their father, while keeping her strongest daughter. She is very attached to her, but also strict, fearing for what the Gods have in store for her daughter and hoping to sway her to a new path.

She is very tired, but she stands strong for her comrades, the burden of their faith for her on her shoulders. Though she finds herself staring at the newest member of the Kingdom, and is wondering if the stars are finally giving her a break, if they will finally allow her to rest

Okay, this isn't strictly about a fic, but there are fics about it...there's a work of fan art where Harry is trying to remove the dark mark from Draco's arm with his wand. It's really gorgeous. Draco is wearing a waistcoat. Erm, that's all I can remember. I remember reading a fic based on that, so if you can only find the fic and not the art, that's fine!

Twenty whole minutes that Draco had spent rattling around The National Gallery foyer, buffeted by crowds, eyed by security guards, it really was too much.Resolving - once again - to only give Potter one more minute before leaving; Draco resumed his vigil next to the information kiosk.

“M’drunk Mafoy,” Potter slurred, leaning back against the damp brick wall. “Want this, want you, but want to do it properly, yuh’know?” Earnest, bloodshot eyes gazed up at Draco.

“Of course, of course, I… I…” Draco trailed off, grinning helplessly at Potter who started grinning back. “I…”“You…”“I’ve wanted this, you, for a while now,” Draco exhaled, reaching forward to run his hand through the black and grey curls behind Potter’s right ear. “So…” Draco took another deep breath as Potter turned to nuzzle his wrist, “I can wait, of course. Potter’s lateness and then this near-Slytherin attempt to cast Draco as the late party was too much. It would not be born, Draco may be a Malfoy but he was also a man of blood and nerves and hopes and for Potter to play with him in this manner-Unaware of his impending doom, Potter continued to burble on, steering Draco towards a doorway where a sign welcomed visitors to London’s National Portrait Gallery.“Couldn’t remember if we said the National Gallery or the National Portrait Gallery,” Potter explained, bashfully gazing up at Draco. “But you’re here so it looks like I guessed the right one. Shall we go in?”

Draco never did get around to unleashing a world of pain. Instead he finally agreed to call Potter “Harry” and snogged him senseless next to a portrait of the queen’s favourite Corgi.

I don't think I've seen anyone else pick "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" yet? I think that's my favorite, or at least, one of :) It's just a lovely, entrancing little story, and I love the whole premise. (And if I could add another, I'd pick the "Don't Think Twice" series, because it's full of smutty goodness, but also because I still care about those characters!)

Ahh I’m so thrilled to see your list, those are A+, amazing picks as well! I almost caved like I did when someone asked for older fics and I gave them a 30+ reclist 😂💀 choosing only two was as heartbreaking as it sounds - and some years were especially impossible, suddenly I had to pick between 3 fics by the same author (hi hello astolat and Bix, how could you publish so much in the same year??). Voleclaw of Riverclan and Thistleclaw of thunderclan have switch places, now Voleclaw is the son of Swirlflight (Windflight) and Poppydawn, brother to Rosetail and Oakpaw while Thistleclaw is the son of Hailfall and brother to Petaldust and Beetlenose, mate to Snowgale who was formerly a Thundergrowth cat
