Whatever You’ll Let Me
Week 5 ~ hanging Christmas lights ~ snowball fight ~
Word Count: 937 Content: suggestive at the end so 18+, cold, ambush
@clone-wars-winter-challenge
Omega looked so cold. You could tell she was trying to seem like the frigid temperature wasn’t affecting her—like her brothers were—but her clothes and tiny scraps of armor just didn’t have the same multi-weather protections that the boys did with their old GAR issue under suits and armor. Not that your own was much better.
It had been suggested that the two of you stay on the ship, but you were on a little side mission and no one had expected Omega to stay on the ship alone.
Tech was tasked with keeping Wrecker out of trouble while he fulfilled their meager grocery list and while Hunter and Echo haggled with various dealers and shop owners over parts and other necessities, you had started to sneak around the open-air market to look at other shops.
“Do you want my scarf?” you tried to ask casually, doing your best to hide the sympathy in your tone as Omega failed at suppressing a violent bout of shivers.
She looked up at you. You could practically see the gears turning in her head and hear her teeth chattering. After a moment, almost sheepishly, she nodded. You smiled, unwinding the length of cloth from your neck and crouching down to help wrap it around her.
“Thanks,” she grinned, giggling as you tapped her nose.
“Omega,” you hummed. “Would you like to help me with a… secret mission?”
The girl perked up instantly. “A secret mission?” she said, her lips pulling into a wide smile.
“Yep,” you answered, popping the P. “We’re going to have to sneak away from the others right now without them questioning it. Got any ideas?”
Omega thought for a moment, her hand coming up to her chin. You smiled at how much she reminded you of Tech. “What if we just tell them it’s a secret?”
You chuckled. “Alright, but you have to tell Hunter.”
A wicked grin that reminded you more of Wrecker spread across her face as she grabbed your hand, pulling you toward the former sergeant.
“Hunter!” she shouted, distracting him from the items the shop owner was displaying. “We’re going on a secret mission!”
Hunter’s brow raised in suspicion, though his lips pulled into a smirk.
“Got your comm?” he asked.
Omega held it up in response. “Yep!”
“Then I guess you’re ready to go,” he smiled. He then looked up at you. “Everything… okay?”
Stars, it felt like he wasn’t just looking at you but staring deep into your soul. You could feel your face flushing. “Oh, it’s just—”
“She can’t tell you! It’s a secret!” Omega interjected with an edge of an irritated tone. She grabbed your hand before you could say anything else, pulling you away from Hunter as he chuckled.
When you glanced back, you saw Echo lean in close to whisper something into Hunter’s ear, Hunter’s brief shock, recovered into a sharp elbow to Echo’s side.
“So, what do we need to do?”
—
You were panting hard as you and Omega trekked back to the ship. The snow was getting deeper and you were starting to realize how out of shape you’d gotten since the squad had escaped the Empire.
“C’mon,” Omega encouraged from the front. “I don’t think they’re back yet!”
Your hands felt freezing as you adjusted the strap of the bag of string lights you’d gotten over your shoulder. You hoped the two of you could set it up before the boys got back.
Omega stopped suddenly, clearly picking up on something you couldn’t.
You looked at her uncertainly, your breath coming out in foggy huffs. ”Ome—” you started to call, but were cut off by the thunk of a ball of ice hitting your chest.
You shared a fleeting, wild look with Omega.
“We’re under fire!” she squealed, dodging one of the lobbed snowballs.
“Get to the ship!” You cried as you began to run after her.
But just as she called to warn you of your impending capture, arms circled your waist, hoisting you into the air while small snowballs rained down over Omega.
You burst into laughter, struggling in vain against the strong embrace keeping you from your co-conspirator.
You didn’t need to see who was behind you; you already knew it was Hunter, but the soft chuckles emanating from behind you and that woodsy scent—from the cologne he pretended not to own—had given it away in an instant.
“Let me go!” You laughed, playfully pulling at his arms.
“Not happening,” that rich, smoky voice hummed behind you.
Somewhere further ahead, Wrecker had cptured Omega both laughing and cheering as they teamed up against Echo, while Tech feigned disinterest—despite the lit-up recorder on the side of his goggles—but you could barely notice any of it over the way your heart threatened to beat out of your chest. You knew he could hear it, and you knew he could tell it wasn’t just from the ambush.
“Don’t forget to breathe, cyar’ika,” he hummed. When had his lips gotten so close to your ear? You fought to suppress a shudder. You prayed he dismissed its cause as the cold, but some part of you quietly hoped he wouldn’t.
The world around you seemed to slow as you managed to turn to face him, still held tightly in his embrace.
“So,” you said. It was barely a nervous whisper. He could hear it loud and clear. “Now that I’ve been captured, what are you going to do with me?”
Hunter’s grin grew into a crooked smirk. “Hmm,” he nearly growled, bringing his lips to just barely brush against your ear. “Whatever you’ll let me, gorgeous.”
Mando’a Guide:

I can't get over how well Skyjacks: Courier's Call manages to capture the feeling of really, really good children's literature. Listening to it seriously does make me feel like a bookish eleven year old all over again, all the sedimentary layers of my adult cynicism and ennui about the fantasy genre washed away for a moment to lay my heart as bare and excitable as it was back then haha.
This podcast also has what I think might be my favourite moment out of all podcasts of all time, full stop... and it's just a snowball fight with no real narrative stakes at all, only a dwelling on the joy and the characters in that particular moment. To this day, thinking about it feels like a big smile in my chest. (To be clear it's not like the show doesn't have powerful narrative stakes or High Drama overall! But I have rarely found a story so willing to and so skillfull at lingering in delight and discovery just for the sake of it. There's such an immense generosity in that which I think is an underappreciated aspect of storytelling, and that I am really grateful for.)
(If you've never heard of it before, I'm talking about the all-ages actual play podcast Skyjacks: Courier's Call, and you can check it out over here if you'd like! It also carries over and builds on a lot of really amazing worldbuilding from Campaign Skyjacks, part of which is a deeply queernorm approach, so that's another level on which people might connect with it. And if all of this weren't enough: absolute banger music at every turn, as with Skyjacks itself. Season 3 is just starting now, so it's a good time to get caught up!)

"Nothing matters if you're not by my side"
plot- a snowball fight with Kaiser CLICK ME
The backyard was a pristine blanket of untouched white as far as the eye could see. Overnight, a thick layer of powdery snow had coated every surface in dreamy, muffled tranquility.
It was the kind of sparkling winter scene that just demanded to be disturbed and christened properly.
That's why Michael shouldn't have been surprised when you came bounding into the living room bright and early, eyes alight with childlike excitement as you tugged on his sleeve.
"Mikka Mikka, come look outside - isn't it perfect for a snowball fight? Please, let's go play!"
He couldn't fight the indulgent chuckle rumbling up from his chest at your enthusiasm.
Despite being one of the world's most renowned young soccer prodigies, Michael was still just a besotted boyfriend at heart when it came to you.
Denying you anything that brought that radiant smile to your face was simply impossible.
"You know I can never resist that pouty lip when you stick it out like that," he teased, leaning down to playfully nip at your protruding lower lip with his own.
Chuckling at your squeal of delight, Michael scooped you up into a snug embrace.
"Alright, alright - you win, troublemaker. But you'd better be prepared for the battle of your life once we're out there!"
You were already squealing with glee and wiggling free from his arms, scrambling to tug on heavy winter gear.
Michael just shook his head with a bemused grin and followed at a more laidback pace. He could pretend to be a fearsome opponent, but your sunny exuberance was more irresistible to him than any force in nature.
Soon enough, you'd both tumbled outside into the winter wonderland together.
Michael had barely stamped his snow boots down before the first salvo came whizzing by - a tightly packed sphere of snow pinging off his shoulder with impressive accuracy.
"Gotcha!" You were already dancing away on nimble feet, stooping to quickly gather more ammunition while cackling madly.
"En garde, Mr. Superstar! Prepare to face the ultimate cold wrath!"
Lips twitching in amusement, Michael acted quickly to hastily construct a defensive barrier while your barrage intensified.
You were relentless, cheeks already tinged rosy from the chill as you bobbed and weaved with impish zeal.
Lighthearted jeers and teasing taunts merged with the sounds of quickly sculpted projectiles thudding in every direction.
Before long, peals of unrestrained laughter and wheezing breaths mingled in the crisp air. Michael was astonished by how quickly the fearsome soccer machine had melted away - leaving behind just an utterly smitten young man gleefully scrambling through the snow with his best girl by his side.
More than anything, he cherished how naturally these carefree moments seemed to bloom anymore when he was with you.
He was so lost in thought that the next icy missile caught him completely off-guard, shattering in an icy explosion right across his face and chest.
You froze, immediately clapping hands over your mouth in dismay...right until Michael's shocked expression melted into a full-bodied bellow of mirth.
"Oh, you're gonna regret it!" he crowed, already forging another ammo stockpile while stomping towards you with booming guffaws.
You just squealed in delight and turned to flee, still abundantly giggling as well. But Michael's longer strides had him closing the distance rapidly.
The next thing you knew, his arms were banding around your waist from behind in an inescapable bear hug.
Your shrieks of helpless laughter intensified as he simply lifted you clean off your feet, swinging you up and over in a graceful arc.
Then, suddenly, there was nothing but soft and weightless suspension in midair - just long enough for your startled gaze to meet his adoring one.
Michael's eyes crinkled at the corners with pure contentment just drinking in the brilliance of your joy and startled expression...right before you both came crashing back down in a tangle of limbs cushioned by that forgiving pillowy expanse of snow.
There was a beat of stunned stillness where neither of you could do anything but gaze at each other in hazy wonder through the clinging powdery veil.
Slowly, Michael shifted to brace his weight on his elbows, caging your disheveled form beneath him as loose snow clumps tumbled from both your bodies.
Tenderly, he reached out to brush away more stray flakes clinging to your wind-tousled hair, his thumb tracing the arch of your flushed cheeks with unbridled affection.
You were all aglow, sparkling and effervescent and impossibly beautiful in that moment.
Michael's breath caught in his throat with the sudden realization of how lucky he truly was.
That out of everyone in the world, he alone got to have moments like this with you.
These priceless intimacies and flashes of unfiltered, untempered bliss brought into his life by the one person who'd disarmed his defenses so effortlessly.
A brilliant future and career in soccer awaited him, of that Michael was certain...but all the fame and glory in the world would be hollow without these tiny interludes of perfection with you alongside him.
His safe harbor in the storm. His beacon of radiant joy to look forward to amidst all the pressure and responsibilities threatening to overwhelm him at times.
Helpless adoration and gratitude swelled within Michael's chest like a tidal force as you simply gazed up at him - small crystalline snowflakes clinging to your ruddy cheeks and the dark fan of your lashes.
An ethereal winter sprite incarnate, created for the sole purpose of reminding him about everything else that truly mattered beyond the pitch.
"...Hey," he rumbled at last, voice slightly husky with profound emotion.
One calloused hand came up to cradle your face with infinite tenderness - no longer the touch of a soccer prodigy but simply a young man utterly besotted.
"I love you. So much. Thanks for always making me remember how to be human, snowflake."
And when that sunburst smile broke out across your radiant features again, Michael swore he'd just been handed the entire world and more.
Right there, bundled up together amongst the pristine snow drifts in your own private paradise, their sacred little pocket of bliss and belonging.
He dipped his head without hesitation to capture your lips in a searing, lingering kiss.
One gloved hand buried into the snowbank by your tangled tresses to anchor you flush against him, savoring the faint chill and woodsmoke taste of your mouth. A sensation he could quite happily spend the rest of eternity drowning within forever.
Because this - tangled up in your arms amid nature's most exquisite wintry grandeur, savoring the sublime beauty of your limitless spirit joining with his own - was what real life and living was all about at the end of the day.
Soccer, fame, glory...it all paled in comparison.
And with you as his eternal muse and ethereal inspiration, Michael knew this rapturous joy would only keep blossoming and growing more infinite for both of them with each year that followed. An endless snowdrift of perfect moments yet to come.

rant. this was a vent in response to the final chapter, but the anime reaching the heteromorph riot arc got me all whiny again. embarrassingly personal.
On "Peaceful Resolutions" + general heteromorph riot arc stuff
When I was in elementary school - I forget what age - there was a snow day. Children love snow days. Me, my younger sibling, and my grandmother went outside to play. We wanted to use the neighborhood hill to sled. Unfortunately, it was already being used by some older kids. Middle schoolers only a few years older than me?
They didn't want to share the hill. So they pushed and shoved us. They threw snowballs at us. When I cried for them to stop, they laughed. When my grandmother, who didn't know English, who spoke only Chinese, yelled at them to stop, they laughed, and mocked her. "Ching chong ching chong." After that, no matter what me or my sibling said in English, they pretended not to understand and just kept chanting slurs. There is nothing more frustrating than screaming out your pain that you know people can hear and understand, and having it fall on deaf ears; more than that, your pain is enjoyment for them.
Was this discriminatory incident resolved peacefully? Well, me, my sibling, and my grandmother cut our snow day short and went home. Our retreat was 'peaceful', but I guess the incident wasn't exactly resolved.
Would attacking them back helped? No, of course not. (And not that we could. We were two elementary kids and an elderly woman. Understand that bullies nearly always purposefully target those weaker than them, ones who can't fight back without negative consequences.) Indeed, things would've just escalated. But we didn't want to retaliate. We didn't want revenge. We just wanted them to stop.
Did we do anything about it? No, it was just some kids being mean. A very minor thing (even as the incident, only one among others, continues to destroy our perception that this neighborhood was ever safe for us, truly our home. But my town had an active neo-nazi gang that liked to vandalize houses and slip posters into newspapers, so it was never going to be safe.) We didn't know our neighbors well because of language barriers, because we stood out as a Chinese family in a largely white neighborhood and people didn't talk to us much either. We wouldn't know how to alert the parents of these kids. And we thought, even if we did complain - a non-violent method of action - they might just find us annoying. They might hate us more. What if the language barrier leads to more confusion and conflict? We didn't want to risk it. We kept our heads down and let the incident go. My family became more reluctant to go out, to let me and my sibling outside to play. We maintained the peace.
Understand that it doesn't really matter what an discriminated minority does to resist discrimination - the perpetrator can find any act of resistance inappropriate. That is their prerogative by being in the position of power.
Shoji saved a girl, gave the community peace by preventing them from having to grieve her death. His village then bashed his face with a hoe for daring to resist and break the norms of the village, for daring to touch the girl to save her life.
A third party, of course, can come and resolve the incident by de-escalating everything. But for my incident, it was not me that this third party needed to stop. We did not engage in violence. It was the older kids. And had I retaliated - idk how, as a child; tackle them? - to protect my grandmother, my younger sibling - that would be self defense, likely because I wanted the bullying to stop and had to resort to violence when nothing else worked; because I feared the violence they were about to do to us more than my fear and reluctance to engage in violence in the first place. Maybe self-defense is too strong a word here for schoolyard bullying, but the principle is the same.
(It wasn't just schoolyard bullying, obviously. There were other incidents, from when I was younger, when I'm much older. This incident is one that I feel is less revealing/personal/vulnerable to tell.)
There was no peace in that incident that wasn't broken by the perpetrator to begin with. Not that the peace was peaceful for us in the first place. Bringing about true peace is solely on stopping the perpetrator, and ultimately on dealing with the root cause.
“Discriminatory incident” is so vague. An incident can be anything. “Peaceful Resolution” implies responsibility on all parties. What we're told isn't 'Shoji stops the bigots nonviolently'. (Also: The bigots are afforded this. Villains must be put down with violence, but not the people throwing rocks and spraying pesticides on children. I'm of course of the opinion that violence shouldn't be used to stop bigots or Villains except as a last resort, but the manga has demonstrated that no Hero ever stopped a bigot using the same methods they use on Villains. Why is that?) It isn't 'Shoji saves victims of hate crimes'. Judging by Shoji's own statements and how the heteromorph arc plays out, a peaceful resolution is stopping both the heteromorph victim (who may or may not be lashing out - in response to the hate crime) and perpetrator - If anything, more stopping the heteromorphs.
I’m going to suggest that rarely, heteromorphs ever actually retaliate with violence. True, the heteromorphs we see (Shoji, ordinary lady, Koda's mom) aren't part of the rioters but are we to believe all these rioters are people who react with violence every time, and it's their first solution? When they stopped the damn riot themselves because they didn't want to hurt the healthcare workers? (and even the riot wasn’t purposeless, indiscriminate violence - they were solely there to retrieve Kurogiri). Pig Nose guy says he's been beaten up for no reason, so he's already at the receiving end of violence that justifies self-defense, but we can assume he didn't actually lash out any of those times because he's the one who stops everyone, feeling so bad about just the idea of hurting someone.
I can’t say that’s 100% canon that none of the heteromorphs ever lashed out (and of course ‘statistically’ some of them must have), but overall, for most of them, it’s a legitimate assumption to be made. The heteromorphs from the Jeda or 6/6 incidents were fully massacred. Shoji and Spinner were children - Shoji was on the ground, getting bashed in the face with a farming hoe wielded by an adult. Spinner got sprayed with pesticides for walking outside and became a hikikomori, saying that he accepted being a ‘lizard freak’, he was ready to give up. (And he only took action when the extraordinary moment of Stain getting on TV made him realized he hated this suffocating world where Heroes failed him, never protected him.) Ordinary Lady never lashed back out at her attackers. Koda’s mom had to be protected by Koda’s dad.
Even the PLF agitator - his wound is a long deep scar on his head - a head injury that would’ve thoroughly incapacitated him, if not kill him. It is likely not the wound of someone hitting back with self-defense as if the PLF agitator was the one attacking someone and they were fighting back for their life.
These are the ‘Discriminatory Incidents’. What does a peaceful resolution look like, here?
The heteromorphs at the hospital aren’t there to get revenge. They’re there because they’ve been pushed into a corner and probably have become afraid for their lives, their future. During a national crisis where Heroes order civilians to go into hero-guarded shelters, these shelters had the audacity to refuse heteromorphs, leaving them out on the streets, vulnerable to the dangers of jailbreakers and lack of resources.
The peace was broken first by discrimination. The heteromorphs probably took Spinner’s call to action as a life preserver. Heroes had refused to protect them during the collapse of the state; and so they likely found truth in Spinner’s word that if Heroes win the day, nothing will change. They weren’t there to hurt anyone at the hospital - they were there to take back Kurogiri.
But Shoji framed the whole thing as revenge, as being avengers. He accused the heteromorphs of being violent and non-peaceful, without ever naming the first act of violence on the part of the non-heteromorphs. He didn’t want to risk the heteromorphs’ hard-won reputation and status (“You’ll set us back 30 years.* They’ll target your children.”) He wanted the heteromorphs to do what my family did - kept our heads down and let the incident go. Maintained the peace.
Shoji said that those who hurt the heteromorphs weren’t justified, but he then says “there has to be a better way”. We never find out what this was, beyond the vague ‘Shine bright’.
(I shined bright, too. I was a straight-A student. I did extracurriculars - piano, viola, art, softball. As did my sibling. My family were hard-working citizens. My mom worked two jobs. I hate telling these details, because they don't matter. My worth as someone who doesn’t deserve to face discrimination does not and should not depend on my grades or trained skills, how pleasant or cool I seem to someone. None of that matters to the people who wanted to hurt us because they simply saw being visibly Asian American as the offense.)
We don’t find out how Shoji’s better way works in the final chapter either. Just that he resolved the incidents ‘peacefully’. Because he wanted to solve discrimination peacefully. As do everyone, oppressors and the oppressed. But ‘peace’ often means something different to oppressors, and something different to the oppressed.
(Did Shoji resolve the heteromorph riot peacefully? Not really. He shouted a lot to the crowd, but he also fought Spinner (ah, you might say - well, Spinner was using violence! Shoji has to react to that with punching as well! Yeah. That's what I mean.) Koda had birds shoved someone off a building.)
Shoji’s better ways - I will assume it’s stopping the blood cleansings. That is a noble goal. It is a necessary and vital goal. And so, how? How does he cover the large areas of rural land, so that he’s there to stop these hate crimes? How does he know when something will happen? Is it a campaign and community-level action? Uraraka’s tackling of Quirk Counseling is a ‘project’, widespread and implemented on a macro level. Shoji’s efforts are on what’s implied to be individual incidents. But putting that aside for now, I will assume “resolving” is talking down the perpetrator. I will assume it’s protecting the victim while negotiating with the person holding the weapon.
Peaceful implies that he does so without violence (as he should! As a Hero Law Enforcement of the State!); but a blanket label of ‘peaceful’ also implies stopping the other party (the victim) asking them to stand down as well.
I just think - during my Discriminatory Incidents, how can anyone have me stand down, have stopped me, when I haven't done anything in the first place? And if I did have to be stopped from engaging in self-defense, that's not a resolution. That's a save. That's someone saving me from the violence, saving me from having to resort to violence.
Heroes save people. There's no question of 'peacefully' when they fight villains to save people. There’s no framing of ‘peacefully’ when they do so. But it seems heteromorphs are not allowed the same language of ‘peacefully’ and 'save'.
-
tl;dr. idk. the heteromorph mini-arc’s writing and message is awful.
-
*re: “set us back 30 years.” I know we don’t know exactly what happened 30 years ago, but we can guess - and so I don’t think guessing one of the named massacres is too wild. From my own experiences, the murder of Vincent Chin was about 40 years ago. I grew up with Vincent Chin as a horror story.
Being told that, due to whatever actions I was doing, would set back all that progress Asian Americans made since then is just cruel and wrong and illogical in all ways. Vincent Chin didn’t deserve to be murdered whatever he did 40 years ago, and he deserved to have his murderers be brought to real justice. The sheer injustice of that case is objective. There is no way someone can tell me that I’m setting time back to when the murder of Vincent Chin happened, that I would be causing injustice like that again, I’m responsible for any more murders that happen, and have that be in any way true.
Related— On Bnha's apparent ideal of "a hero is someone who is willing to suffer in silence" and "we'll get it right next generation!"
From Asian American Dreams, by Helen Zia:
The reaction within the Detroit area’s small, scattered Asian American population was immediate and visceral. Suddenly people who had endured a lifetime of degrading treatment were wondering if their capacity to suffer in silence might no longer be a virtue, when even in death, after such a brutal, uncontested killing, they could be so disrespected.
[...]
Vincent was part of an entire generation for whom the immigrant parents had suffered and sacrificed. Other Asian Americans also found a strong connection to the lives of Vincent, Lily, and David Chin. Theirs was the classic immigrant story of survival: work hard and sacrifice for the family, keep a low profile, don’t complain, and, perhaps in the next generation, attain the American dream. For Asian Americans, along with the dream came the hope of one day gaining acceptance in America. The injustice surrounding Vincent’s slaying shattered the dream.

i love your ominis fic! it’s so well written. could i request him and #10 from the prompt list?
(so for once in my life) let me get what i want
ominis gaunt x reader (hogwarts legacy)
ominis tells you his plans for the future and adopts a new name
prompt: "please. please just listen to me."
word count: 2253
warnings: hogwarts legacy spoilers! some violence; gaunt family pureblood purity nonsense; seventh-year ominis and gang (sebastian redemption arc); timeskip & a surprise cameo/twist? :O ominis is a very powerful wizard because of his heritage, and he's even more powerful than his family because of his kind heart; occamies can speak parseltongue (source: trust me bro)
when the impossible happened, when it turned out that you also reciprocated his feelings, ominis' world changed.
he always tells you, "we took the long way round, but we're here now." and every time, you would reach for his hand and squeeze. he can almost sense your smile every time.
ominis had been thinking about it. you were it for him, and he hopes you feel the same way. he was tired.
of hiding you.
so ominis made up his mind.
once you both graduate from hogwarts, he would not return to his family. the gaunts aren't his family--not anymore. it was his friends, and you.
-
"what are you doing outside, sulking here?"
he turns to the sound of your voice and the door opening, and you sit beside him. slowly, you reach for his hand and guide a steaming cup of tea. he mutters a 'thank you' and takes a sip.
you tell him that feldcroft looks nice at this time of the year, so not unlike the time it was ravaged by poachers and ranrok's loyalists. there is laughter in the air, children running around and playing in the snow. carolers singing every night by a bonfire. you always go to the carolers and hand out hot cocoa.
ominis and sebastian would usually sit there, outside the sallow house, listening as you and anne, now good as new, play with the kids, picking snowball fights with the enchanted snowman. you two make them help set up a giant christmas tree for the hamlet. he would fret whenever you climb up the ladder to place ornaments, insisting that using your wand "isn't as accurate". that entire day, while you and anne were busy decorating the tree, ominis would be standing guard by the ladder, making sure that not even the wind can shake it.
he likes it here. it's quiet, and while he enjoys holidays in the castle, being with his family here in feldcroft feels better.
"the kids are scaring the scarecrow again," he tells you with a smile, and you both turn in the direction of the children and the squawking of the poor scarecrow.
anne bursts out the door, smiling when she sees you two. "there you are!" she exclaims. a folded woolen blanket is hanging on her arms, "i knew ominis would be here sulking--"
"i am not sulking--"
"so i got you a blanket to keep you warm. i know y/n wouldn't leave you out here in the cold."
you gratefully take the blanket from her, thanking her before splaying it on yourself and ominis. "have you finished packing?"
"me?" anne points at herself, "of course not! sebastian and i don't pack until you start nagging for us to leave."
"because we need to return to hogwarts by tonight," you remind her.
anne rolls her eyes, waving you off, "we can pack everything quickly, don't worry. you and ominis enjoy the sun while it lasts."
you hum, and watch her enter the house again. turning to ominis, you watch him sip his tea quietly, "you ready?"
"hmm?" he asks behind the rim of the teacup.
"our final term," you sigh, "and then we're done with school."
ominis starts thinking about it again.
"i have to tell you something."
you don't say anything, but wait until he starts talking.
"i've decided...i've decided not to return to my family after graduation."
shocked, you open your mouth to say something, anything. but you know that he has made up his mind about this. "but, they'll start looking for you."
"i know." ominis is quiet for a bit, hands warming up around his cup, as he tries to collect his thoughts. some time ago, he knew that he eventually would have to go into hiding once he decided to leave the family. he just...well, he just needed to tell you about it. "we'll have to lay low for a while."
"we?" you aren't sure if you heard him right. did 'we' mean you and him? you, him, and the twins?
"my family will be looking for us. and if you're with me, i can protect you better."
so that's what he had been sulking about, you think to yourself. ever since you arrived to feldcroft to spend the holidays with the twins, you would always find ominis deep in thought. is this what he was thinking about?
it feels like a death sentence, ominis thinks. you deserve better than going into hiding so soon after graduating. you should be going out there, exploring the world, not being afraid that a family of dark wizards would find you. but he knows his family will not let him go, not with you. and if something happened to you, well, he would never forgive himself.
"i'm sorry," he blurts out. he is frustrated about this, and he knows you must be too. he is sure that you're already processing the fact that you'll be losing months, years of your life trying to hide from his family. he wouldn't blame you if you start despising him now. he would too. "i didn't mean for this to happen."
"wait...ominis," you gently take the cup from his hands to settle it on the ground, "it's alright."
ominis shakes his head, now becoming upset, "no, you don't understand...i don't understand. why aren't you mad at me? you should be!
because of who i am...the darkness in my family is never going to go away, and it will infect you...i'm sorry." ominis hears the crack in his voice and the tears started to flow.
immediately, you kneel into the dirt, cupping his face, "hey, ominis...please. please, just listen to me." you brush your thumbs against his cheeks, wiping his tears, tracing the beauty marks that you love.
"i'll be fine as long as i'm with you," you whisper to him. "i don't care if we have to hide, as long as i have you...everything will be alright."
he sniffs, raising his hands to cup yours resting on his cheeks. he turns and brushes his lips on your palm, "i love you," he tells you, "i would do anything for you, and i will keep you safe, i promise."
"i know, love," you tell him, tears threatening to spill down your cheeks, not from anguish, but from joy. of course you would follow him anywhere. "i love you too, and i will also keep you safe."
ominis says nothing, but nods before leaning forward, resting his head against yours.
let me keep her, please. he thinks. for once in my life, let me get what i want. lord knows it would be the first time.
-
he should have known that these rogue poachers were also looking for him. they accidentally came across the group, as you four were flying back to the castle. they intercepted you, and you had to land somewhere.
"i don't know if you 'eard," a poacher yells as he and his colleagues start to descend to your location, "but the gaunt family is looking to pay a hefty sum if we could get their son and his friends back to them!"
"all the galleons we could ever want!" exclaimed another, "we'll never have to poach for animals in this blasted forest again."
"ominis," you whisper, reaching frantically for him as he takes a step forward, wand out. sebastian stands beside him. you see anne pull her wand out and you do so anxiously, staring at the poachers and trying to keep yourself calm.
it is quiet for a bit, and then the curses and hexes start flying. incantations hurriedly leaving everyone's lips as you tried your best to see where the enemies are in the thick of the night. you worry for your friends, jumping by anne's side, pulling on her jumper as you conjure a shield for you both. as ominis and sebastian try to hold off a horde of poachers in front of you, you don't notice one disillusioned themselves until there was the tip of a wand pressing against your neck and a ragged, "STOP!" is shouted behind you, almost deafening your ear.
ominis turns to the side at the sound, wand still raised and his brows furrowed when he realizes that one slipped past him.
"let go of her."
"we don't want trouble with you, i know you gaunts are a powerful lot," the poacher who has wrapped his arm around your neck tightens it a little. "i just want missy here, and you to come with us back to mummy and daddy."
he raises his wand, ready to strike the man who has you captive.
"ominis..." you start, before the tip of the wand dig deeper into your neck and you shut yourself up with a whimper. ominis cringes at the sound.
"please--" ominis bares his teeth as he lowers his wand
"drop your wand and walk towards me."
"please just listen to me," ominis implores, but the man didn't want to listen to him.
"any sudden movements and she's gone," he pulls on your hair, "your parents want you alive, but didn't say that for her."
now seething in anger, ominis nods before dropping his wand. this appeases the poacher, who tells him to start walking towards him. then, he hears voices.
voices he haven't heard in some time. are you alright? do you need help?
masking it as a pained hiss, ominis answers, yes, get rid of the poacher. he threatens to hurt the beasts in this forest.
i am not from this forest. nor from this land. these poachers took me.
you're close now, ominis can hear your muffled whimpers. help me with the poacher, and we will help you return home.
in a flash, you are released from the poacher's grip and ominis takes a few strides before reaching you. he holds you close as you gasp at the sight before you: a large, winged serpentine beast grabs the poacher by the shoulders and they disappear.
"what--"
"that was an occamy!" anne shouts, running to your side to embrace you and ominis, "thank goodness you're alright!" sebastian runs to you all, sighing in relief when he sees no one is hurt.
you turn to ominis, still in shock. "you saved me..."
"i promised i would," he tells you.
"but..." you turn back to the sky, where you see the occamy flying closer and closer. ominis says nothing, but waves his wand to materialize his suitcase and open it. the occamy flies into it and it shuts. "the occamy..."
"professor howin or ellie peck will make sure that she gets back to her home."
you nod at him, a smile slowly forming on your face before you rush in and plant a small kiss on his cheek. flushing, you start to walk back to where you dropped your broom, ignoring the teasing grin on anne's face.
"well, that was--"
"if you say one more thing sebastian, i will have the occamy choke you."
-
years later, anne and sebastian sallow find themselves in front of a tiny cottage by the sea. it has become tradition to spend the holidays here.
here to deliver the news, sebastian, now an auror, is excited to let them know. the gaunts have stopped looking for them.
you greet them at the door, throwing your arms around anne is joy. "happy christmas!" you tell her, "i'm so glad you made it here safely!"
"the only danger we encountered on the way here were the drunkards outside of feldcroft!" anne exclaims with a laugh, moving to take off her coat and hang it as you hug sebastian.
"any news?" you whisper against his ear.
sebastian pulls away from you with a grin, "yes. where is he?"
"in the studio," you nod to the direction of the room, "now off with your coat and let's move to the studio."
-
he has learned to enjoy it. at first, he huffed when you told him you bought him the wheel, but eventually, he realized how much he loved it. it was calming, and it certainly helped that you also appreciate the finished products he would gift you.
when sebastian tells him that the gaunts finally stopped searching, ominis couldn't really say he's relieved. he was relieved years ago, when he stopped feeling the dark shadow engulfing his being. despite that, he enjoys knowing that they didn't have to hide anymore.
he feels his wife's comforting hand on his shoulder, and he teasingly reaches for it with his own.
"ah, ominis, you're getting me dirty!" you complain, but he only laughs. "i have to go check on the food, and then we can all have dinner."
"how can you even move around with your condition?" sebastian asks, and you huff, rolling your eyes at him before cradling the swollen bump in front of you. "i don't think my child is as big-headed as you seb, that's why i'm still able to move around."
anne and ominis laugh at that. "i'll help," ominis announces, as he gets up from his potter wheel and makes his way towards the kitchen (where you proudly display the many potteries your husband made you).
the twins follow shortly, chortling at how domesticated you both look, especially after adopting a new name. this new name ominis is proud of, because not like the one he is born with, becoming a "potter" is his choice, and with you, he's all the better for it.
-
i was listening to please please please let me get what i want (idk if thats obvious)
i hope you all like this one ;A;
i popped out so many ominis fics today my thesis is jealous aaaaaaaa

Does anyone remember when Baghera said that she was gonna organize a day for Bad where he could just relax and for it to be an actual vacation for him when he was during his "vacation" arc because she noticed how bad he was doing and wanted to help him out. Even if he couldn't admit to her that he was not doing well mentally to her, saying he was fine but she still told him that she would be there for him. And then, the day that she was gonna organize for Bad didn't happen because things got in the way. I don't remember what it was exactly. But, I think (again not 100 percent sure) it was because Baghera discovered at the time that she was a federation experiment and then disappeared afterwards. Then there was the whole furniture thief scandal and Bad got placed into jail for it. When Baghera came back, having her hair faded out of color, tear strains dried on her feathers, Bad told her that he missed her and she was glad about that, and then Bad questioned her about her appearance because he was worried. And it's just, they care about each other, oh they care about each other. Thinking about how she told him that she was a federation experiment but she was hesitant about it at first - she didn't want anyone to think that suddenly she was part of the federation's side or was gonna be a traitor to them or anything like that. She was still Baghera. Bad had asked her questions about her memories from being a federation experiment - whether she remembered being on the island, how she got off it, etc. Though, he didn't seem to treat her any differently for it. She asked him to keep it a secret and he did. He accidentally slipped up in front of Bagi once about Baghera leaving the island once before and then covered his mistake right up afterwards so that Baghera's secret was kept. Bagi believed his cover up. How Bad and Baghera had snowball fights before with their kids together. How Bad trusted Baghera to take care of Dapper when he was away and she trusts Bad to care for Pomme too. How Bad backed up Baghera's ideas during the election arc when she was struggling to say her points because two people were trying to combat against her ideas. When she heard about a law that singled out Bad - she was quick to defend him and how that the law made her mad. I don't remember when but there was a time where Baghera was gone and then when she came back into the QSMP, Bad had made her a diamond throne with Pomme and planted gifts, saying welcome back - without crediting himself for it. How Baghera was endeared by Bad being in his grim reaper outfit trying to scare her and mentioning how the grim reaper felt warm. How quickly Baghera dubbed Bad as part of her family and they had investigations about the federation together - constantly sharing ideas. He's so quick to tease her and try to prank her and she perfectly pulls the table right back at him - using his method of prank against him. How Bad didn't hesitate to go back to the nether to save Baghera when she was in lava and there was limited time left. In Purgatory, even when they were on different sides, when she begged him to not kill her and how she didn't have a secret base, he didn't kill her. But, he did think she was lying to him about the secret base later on. During purgatory, there was a moment that Bad asked Baghera where she was so that they could meet up and talk to each other before his time ran out. And they did, they did exactly that. They talked to each other without attacking or planning something against the other just as Bad's time ticked down until he was disconnected from the server. How she said she missed him and was glad that he was on Bolas when Soulfire got destroyed in the egg event. The co-parents, the platonic best friends. Oh, how I miss them.
#I don't know I'm just filled with yearning for them#feel free to correct me about stuff because my memory can be hazy and I'm just going off memory xd#qsmp#badboyhalo#qsmp baghera#lampduo#qsmp purgatory mention

ok I'm not big into the mystreet rewrites even though I deffo understand why people do them, but this is my personal little rewrite of that one scene in season 6 when garroth and zane are fighting 😊
instead of zane moving his mask and telling garroth 'i love you big brother' (which like sure, but this entire time zane has been saying the same thing so why now is garroth snapping out of the control of the forever potion?) garroth stabs zane through the shoulder, and as he's falling to the ground his hair is moved off his right eye and garroth sees the scars on/over his eye -from throwing that snowball at him when they were kids-and thats what snaps him out of it
Because garroth comes to the realization that he's hurting his brother again due to something he has no control over and that's so painful for him that it snaps him out of the potion
I think this works better than zane removing his mask because like yeah, he's being vulnerable, but isn't their whole arc about garroth accepting who zane is as his own person, not just in garroth's shadow? The mask is a part of zane, he's always wearing it, so him taking it off is kind of saying 'I will change who I am for you' which isn't the right message in my opinion. I think it's better if garroth has to realize something, especially something like 'oh dang I'm hurting zane because of something Garte imposed on me, like I've been doing my whole life'
anywayyy my favorite trope is tragic brothers so I dig deep into garroth and zane 😊😊

The fun thing about long running series is that you can trace a character's narrative evolution in real time.
The Law we saw pre-timeskip clearly aimed for One Piece.
Unless it was an elaborated lie to his crewmates (which I guess is the in-series explanation at the moment), it's safe to assume that his D lineage and self assigned suicidal mission didn't exist as a concept back then. The goal is eventually re-established with a context.
While drawing, I assumed Kidd would become important, but I didn't think LAW would move forward like that. So it's youu?? 😱
Weekly serialization, it's a Wonderland.
Weekly serialization means adding oomph on micro scale. I have a particular theory extrapolated from this statement: Law's introduction in Punk Hazard wasn't planned at all.
It might sound far fetched for how integral Law is to Punk Hazard's plot. But it's not an uncommon event, and not just in One piece. Editors often suggest heavy changes to accommodate strong cliffhangers and quick surprises. Eleven supernova were created because early Shabondy lacked oomph, Law might have appeared in Punk Hazard for the same reason.
Even without Law, the straw hats would've anchored in Dressrosa to save Kanjurou, Zou to reunite with Raizo, and in Wano to escort their friends back home. Law just happened to have something going on in all of these places.
I think both Law and Kidd's post timeskip debut was planned to be in Wano arc. Law's competitive dynamic with Kidd and Luffy in Wano is more consistent with Shabondy than anything that came before.
Doflamingo was initially one of Kaido's strongest allies to be defeated within Wano country (confirmed in volume 98 SBS). It means Dressrosa was entirely different from what we got.
Given the similarity in their Jolly Roger, Oda may have always planned Law to be Doflamingo's ex-subordinate with a complicated history, keeping his and Doflamingo's conflict reserved for Wano. But Law was popular, resourceful and the story needed a boost after a monotonous Fishman Island arc. Thus, Law gets his early screentime that snowballs into a dramatic Dressrosa arc. I'm sure Oda didn't mind.
Tldr, I think this is how it went down: Oda decides that Kidd and Law would return and fight alongside Luffy in Wano -> Punk hazard is written and introduces Kinemon -> Punk Hazard falls bland and editor pesters Oda to bring Law early -> Law appears and proposes an alliance, so the plot is now directly chained to Wano -> Oda realizes ope ope makes a good device to explain Imu's immortality -> Oda makes Law a D as he's now connected to endgame plot.
Even if the theory above is wrong, it's a fact that Law was not a part of the bigger picture but became unexpectedly relevant. To work with him, Oda had to figure the smaller details of his personality slowly as the story progressed; such as his honesty and the suicidal tendency.
Law roped straw hats into his revenge scheme while deep down wanting them to leave Dressrosa safe and unharmed. But Law in the draft for this scene looks more... certain. Maybe Robin wasn't wrong to suspect Law after all.
I guess, by the time Oda actually reached the scene, the shadiness didn't suit his personality anymore. Corazon would not approve.
Wano Law was the best written Law. His personality was fully ironed out, not just the revived rivalry with Luffy-Kidd but also a reluctance to be nice while time and time proving it's mostly just talks. It's a mix of his personality traits that were decided at his very introduction and the later decided improvisations.
This post was getting too big and derailed so I had to cut it short lol. Maybe I'm reaching with my speculations but it was a fun topic to brainstorm about.
Edit: Here's a bit of extension of this theory.

Mob distraught by milk after Mogami arc
/brain rot : Post Mogami arc, alternative timeline, OC included
Reading Mogami arc changed my brain. What if it actually changed Mob's psyche in the wrong ways?? What if Ekubo came in too late and he's already went ape shit, snapping and killing a student, leaving him mentally scarred. Ekubo gets him out of there with "you're in a dream, boy. This isn't real. Remember your real life, everyone loves you and you're working hard to become strong!" The usual thing and they manage to defeat Mogami. But the thought is there. If Mob managed to actually murder someone out of anger in that dream, what is he capable of in real life? What if he snaps? Mob becomes scared of himself. Milk becomes disgusting giving him nausea and he's more discreet than usual, shutting himself down. In the end, he manages to confess to Tsubomi, avoiding the truck accident but, what's the point He handles rejection extremely bad, self doubt and hate invading him. Both of his sides fighting each other and harming others around him. This is much worse than the original route. I was thinking about all of this as an alternative route of the canon story, including Mirai. I would love her to witness Mom's moral downfall while she's slowly healing in the wrong ways. Reigen in the middle of it is destined to die by Mob's hand, failing to bring him back. Mirai's presence in Asagiri's mansion somehow changed everything and triggered a snowball effect to the worst ending but the whole lore is to make her realize that even if she can see all the endings, she has to learn to stop avoiding confrontation, accept her past as a part of herself and not a mistake and open up to people to fix "bad endings" (She has a avoiding personality and runs away and shuts down the moment things go south). Reigen having to manage a depressed kid, an explosive grown woman and his mom harassing him to get married and have kids:
+++ Now I'm thinking harder: yes Mob will be afraid to hurt people and go insane. Wait until he remembers he already did it. This could either happen while Ritsu talks too much Or Mirai reveals it by reading his past (clairvoyance) "Wait, I thought you already knew it?" Imagine not being able to remember something that happened to you and proof is shown in front of you. Diabolical. The fear of harming leads to an easier loss of control.

its been over 2 years since i read volume 9 of chainsaw man and it still apparently has the power to make me sob uncontrollably when i think about it so im going to talk a bit about aki and denji being shown as children during the snowball fight and why it's currently making me wanna rip my hair out :)
aki is already gone during this scene for all intents and purposes, having very little comprehension of the events his body is in and just waiting to be set free. his mind reverting back to the moment he lost his family is not surprising, since that's when his life permanently changed trajectory.
he's not to blame for being stuck in this moment, as it would make sense for any kid his age. however, he didn't put himself on the path towards revenge, which inevitably made him unable to let go. that was makima. she took him by the hand and gave him this "purpose", something she very well knew he was never going to achieve anyway. she trapped him in this predicament and made sure he stayed there till there were no options left for him.
to the very end, aki's life was never his own, but planned for him. aki never left that snowy forest. he wasn't allowed to.
as a result, the essence of aki that remained within the gun fiend after his death materialized as the last genuine version of aki that ever was. a kid playing in front of his house.
moving over to denji, who is the one that got me crying today. his appearance as a child in aki's mind is partly to parallel the bond they shared and the bond between aki and his little brother, whom he lost that day. of course. however i think there's a lot of significance to this choice for denji's character as well.
denji grew up remote and very disconnected from society. he never got the chance to learn how to navigate his feelings and relationships with other people. he had to figure it all out as he went, first with pochita, whom he got attached to and later with aki and power. even with makima.
makima was the first person to ever give him attention and affection, to give him the things he always wanted, but she never treated him like a person. she never helped him get any closer to learning how to be one. he was used, much like aki was, and was given a purpose that was never going to be for his own benefit.
as a result, denji took a while to go through the motions of being surrounded by humans and being taught by them. the first time we saw him face the concept of loss was with pochita, an event that didn't really give him much in terms of experience considering all the implications and how suddenly it changed his life. in its nature, it wasn't a type of loss he would've been able to navigate as a human.
im not going to go into the situation with his father since we saw very explicitly how incapable he was to handle it to the point of blocking it out and having it haunt him till the end of part one. he surely didn't get much data out of that experience either, or the abuse he went through before it.
the first real time he got to see loss occur very close to him was himeno's death. he had no emotional reaction to it, which confused him since he was able to observe its effect on aki and other people around him. he questioned his own humanity for the first time and it upset him, if only momentarily. it gave him a hint of perspective.
sadly, he was going to find out what loss meant the hard way.
with makima still treating him like an animal and the circumstances forcing him to still rely on his instincts, denji's emotional maturity wasn't really prioritized. he did inevitably grow closer to aki and power, without necessarily being able to recognize those feelings for what they were. again he just had to go through the motions.
fast forward to the gun devil arc. he's told by makima on the phone to not think, to just fight aki without thinking about it. we see the progress that's been made in how clearly unable denji is to follow that order, aki being the closest thing to family he's ever had by this point.
he fights his best friend, not even thinking about himself, but of how aki would feel if he were conscious of how much destruction he was causing. still up to this point, denji doesn't know that he loves aki. it hasn't computed to him as a piece of info, only as an experience.
him being shown as a child in the snow, a contrast to the violent reality that his body is in, has as much significance as it does for aki.
denji never really grew up, he never got past his father's death or anything that happened to him before and after that. he was kept from it by his life and makima herself, once again. his ineptitude was weaponized and he was nowhere near being aware of it. he was also stuck.
in that scene, denji experiences real loss. he loses someone he loves and someone who loves him back. someone who thought himself unable to do so but was the first to love him like a human.
he was just a kid, losing his family by his own hand again, only this time he had been loved.
it's highlighted in the next chapter, where he appears unable to grieve and looks kind of numb instead. then we have the ice cream scene, where he thinks the words for the first time and throws up immediately.
his confusion after it happens, him being unable to fathom why his body would have such a reaction, breaks my heart almost more than the entirety of the snowball fight itself, from denji's pov.
im not going to talk about what happens directly after that and its implications bc im gonna end up talking forever, but his behavior throughout the next chapters very much shows how out of his depth he is when it comes to loss and grief and how lost and helpless he is in makima's hands.
my point is, both aki and denji were used, weaponised and kept from growing up while also having to deal with the world and its cruelty at the same time. even the closeness they achieved was planned and used against them both. this is only one of many angles of the snowball fight scene that can be looked at and interpreted in different ways. but it was the one that made me ugly cry today :)
#oof#this was inspired by a tiktok i saw with panels from that scene#and i went from fine to snot running down my face in the span of a singular minute#:)))#chainsaw man#aki hayakawa#chainsaw man denji#denji#hayakawa family#csm#chainsaw man manga#chainsaw man manga spoilers#chainsaw man analysis#makima

A bit of a rant under cut coz ACOFAS broke into my house, tore my heart from my chest and smashed my feelings with a sledgehammer.
Warning: Strong Feelings about a Fairy Book Xmas Special
Why is this book so fucking mean to Tamlin? Dude messed up at the beggining (with good intentions) but after a certain point he's doing everything right to make up. He drags Beron to help in battle. He save's Feyre from Hybern. He passes on the INCREDIBLE opportunity to be a petty bitch and revives Rhys with a 'Be happy Feyre' and then fucks off to be sad by himself. What more redemption do you want? What more can the dude possibly do?? Clearly nothing. As multiple characters just randomly think to themselves he's just the worst and no matter how much good he does it'll never make up for *checks notes* locking Feyre in a house that one time. Like I'm going crazy here. Dude's not doing anything anymore. Not like he's coming back with a vengance he's just highkey depressed in his sad house. And here's Morrigan thinking how much she'd like to kill him one day. Here's Rhys poping in to berrate him. God forbid he fixes things with Lucien. Stay miserable you sad fuck. Ok maybe he feels a little bad after but everyone assures him it's fine acctually. It's always moraly ok to bully Tamlin. You're the bigger male most times. ugh Then you think ok maybe he'll fix it, maybe there was a point to it all. Sure enough here comes Rhys again. His approach is a little better! 'Eat, Tamlin'. Wow did he get some godamn empathy for Solstice? But no he just can't help himself. 'You can waste and die when it's convenient for me. What you thought I'd actually had sympathy for you??'
I just??? it's so MEAN. so petty. If it was the villain Rhysand arc I'd be cheering. But I'm supposed to be rooting for this dude?? I thought it was a low stakes filler book where they exchange gifts and have a delightful little snowball fight. what is this???
#my art#acotar#acotar fanart#tamlin#anti rhysand#acofas#every time i remember those scenes i wanna fight rhysand in a parking lot#there's NO reason to be this mean#'oh i'll bully tamlin then fight him once he gets angry it'll be so fun to destory his house more as we brawl'#'what do you mean he's too depressed to bite back. why you always ruin everything tamlin'#stop coming to his house challenge#this damn book is the only one of the series that consistently makes me cry#pro tamlin

Merry Christmas/Christmas Eve everyone, and a Happy Holidays to those of you who don’t celebrate Christmas 🎅🎄🙌. Christmas is all about giving, so I thought I’d do something special for you guys as a token of my gratitude for all of you 🙌.
Today, we’re going to read the Holiday Side Special that appeared during chapter 211 of MHA. In case you’re wondering, chapter 211 is the chapter where Black Whip goes crazy during the Joint Training Arc and is pretty far past Kacchan vs Deku 2. The second part is totally not important but I thought I’d let you know anyways.
Now, let’s see what 1-A’s up to:
Aw, how cute 🥰. A snowball fight. It’s nice to see them having fun, especially after everything they’ve been through. Now where’s Izuku?
There he is 😊. Seems like he’s having a good time too. If anyone especially deserves it, it’s him. But who’s that throwing a snowball at him on the left?
Ah Katsuki you rapscallion you 😂. It wouldn’t be MHA without Katsuki taking pleasure in nearly killing Izuku now would it? Such a wholesome and humorous moment between two great friends whose rivalry pushes them to new heights 😊.
Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays 🙌

It’s interesting how Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou and Wano all spill into each other with actions in one arc directly leading to motivations and consequences in another. Like all three of those arcs are essentially set up for Wano when you look at the big picture. They’re all explaining how exactly it is that all these characters ended up her fighting these two menaces. And that makes sense given that Wano is kind of the biggest deal we’ve ever gotten in terms of over arching storyline in One Piece and what is revealed there forever changes the story.
But yeah I just thought it was interesting because outside of Sagas like Water seven and we’ve never really gotten that tipping over feeling before. But while water seven feels just like one big arc with individual pieces. All those arcs are distinct from each other and it’s only when you get to Wano and see the bigger picture can you really fit together just how we all ended up here. It also doesn’t help that Wano’s where they’ve been trying to go from the start.
It’s also the first time they Straw hats actually have a plan to go out of their way and antagonize somebody. Like they are actively trying to antagonize Kaido before they got to Wano. They’ve never done that before they’ve always just kind of tripped and fell into trouble trying to help a friend. Which is kind of how the kaido thing starts but it snowballs into much more than that. The closest to anything like it is Vivi and alabasta. It really helps post time skip feel distinct from pre time and really sets you up with out even knowing it to prepare for something big to go down. It’s almost like a visceral shift from One piece as a serialized story to an a connected one.
#like one piece has always been a connected story but the protagonists where always just having things happen to them on a whim#it was like a Sunday cartoon with a new villain of the weak#but now you can really see just how interconnected the world is and just how big the overarching story unfolding is#and I think that’s neat#I have nothing to add it’s#just an observation#KC watches#dressrosa#one piece#the strawhats#wano arc#punk hazard#zou arc#one piece thoughts#one piece meta#strawhat pirates#strawhats
