Glowing Starfish (Stellux Asteroidea) are a species of starfish native to the Luna Keys, a series of islands along the equator which hosts Starlight Wonderland. Native solely to these islands, this species has been protected by the Ru'aunian government since its initial discovery. Coming out only at night, they are most identifiable by their uniquely soft glow which comes from their natural mana-based diet.

The species are also one of the very few monogamous species of starfish and mate for life. If a partner dies, the surviving starfish will not take on another mate, and will usually pass away quickly after their partners. Thus, these unique echinoderms are a local symbol of love and loyalty.

long time since i’ve posted! today i bring you some art and coding wips for the mcdsn info/lore website !! will be a discord server roleplay, but there’s so much information due to the mess that is mcd so. trying to make it friendly to those who are less familiar with mcd than fanatics like us. i’m not doing this alone—in fact, a few friends are helping out!! Spoilers for all of Mystreet and a small bit of Mcd

So ur telling me. That in ms and pdh. In six seasons and like three prequel seasons. Vylad Ro’Meave. Gets 10 episodes that he appears in. TEN. Over 314 fifteen to thirty minutes episodes (including the side series, pdh and fcu, the spin offs, and the mini series, not including the mini games), Vylad get approximately 85 minutes of screentime in total, with around 40 of those minutes being in pdh, and 45 in Mystreet.

My poor guy got the Laurance treatment, with both of them being very important characters in Diaries, but being pretty much tossed to the side in Mystreet. At least Laurance shows up in more than one season of the main series, because Vylad only gets four episodes in Mystreet, (with three of them being solely Ro’meave centered episodes that he takes a smaller role in) and in those four Big Vylad Return Episodes, he doesn’t show up much without his brothers and ends up taking the back seat again as the main plot is taken up by Aphmau and Zane fake dating to please Zianna.

You’ll never guess what he does in Pheonix Drop High. He gets introduced to us, befriends Travis and Aphmau, and is then never seen without one of his brothers again until Mystreet, in which he gets like, 8 minutes of screen time away from them over the course of two episodes until the main arc plot.

Yes, I did infact watch all of the episodes Vylad is in and roughly calculated the amount of time that he was in each episode, even if he wasn’t talking. I would move mountains for this man.

When I watched Mcd for the first time, I had high hopes for him (and by that extension, poor Laurance) in Mystreet during my rewatch, because I hadn’t watched it in years, unless you count dubbing over s4 with my friends. Yay! Vylad finally shows up! Aaand now he’s gone. With no mention of where he went. And we are left to assume he’s traveling the world again. The next time he is ever mentioned is s4, by Garroth, once. And then radio static once more. I’m pretty sure at some point in s5 Zianna brings him up while talking to Zane but I can’t remember.

Vylad had so much goddamn potential in Mystreet. Affair baby? Canonically Pansexual? Tense relationship with his family? Usually keeps off the radar? Acts completely different from his Mcd counterpart? “Child Prodigy”?

They could have done so much more with him and it makes me so sad that he’s basically just a cameo character to please old Mcd fans and make them say “oh my god! Vylad! From Mcd!”. Yes, it did infact please me, but we get so little of him until he’s gone.

They could have removed him from the plot of Mystreet entirely and it wouldn’t change much. The whole Zanemau fake dating story never really goes anywhere, and thats all we see of him other than Pdh, where he is also neglected as a character, though not as much.

It’s not even the fact that they brought him back from Pdh and then did nothing with him. Thats what they did with Ein, and it worked flawlessly. Its the fact that they brought him back just to show us that “hey guys look it’s Vylad that guy from Mcd and like 5 episodes of Pdh!!”

You know what they could have done instead. Removed Kim from the plot and inserted Vylad instead. She showed up just as a plot point to get possessed. It also would have made Emmalyn a bit less weird in her re-introduction, because if Vylad was obsessing over Zane it would have been weird as hell and they wouldn’t have written that.

I would have watched tf out of an Emerald Secret where Vylad was in town visiting his parents and gets dragged by Garroth to help renovate a new property his parents bought, only for him to

A) get possessed and start acting strange, probably suspiciously glaring at Zane and Aphmau,

B) watch as Zane also starts acting weird, and doesn’t remember himself OR Garroth,

C) Witness as everything goes downhill, probably getting locked in the other jail cell with Garroth (LIKE IN THE BLOOPER REEL) and fleeing back to the cabin to try and get help from literally anyone while Garroth tries to save Aaron and the others, and

D) getting invited to Starlight by the Lycans, where we learn more and more about both Vylad AND Emmalyn, as she starts to recover her memories and tells Vylad about a man quite like him in looks from the past.

We could have gotten more of his relationships with the other characters, like him and Lucinda both gladly breaking into the place where Travis is staying, Not Alone Buddies interactions, his interactions with his brothers now that they’ve all been through A Lot, reacting to Aphmau’s engagement, him watching the other guys as they all fail to pull in amusement, commenting on just how much Travis has changed since high school, his reaction to Garroth getting zapped into a werewolf, an awkward interaction with Garte, the GF invasion, getting used to passing out all the time, missing his old travels and regretting ever going to the lodge, Garroth getting mind controlled, Aphmau’s sudden death, and the burden of both contributing to the possession of Travis, and the responsibility of helping to kill his father.

DO YOU KNOW HOW HAPPY THAT WOULD HAVE MADE ME 😭

Aph shaved the right side of her head with Zane, cause he was nervous of doing it by himself (but if anyone asks, she did it cause she thought it looked cool.)

Katelyn and Dante both have phoenix tattoos, they aren't matching or anything they just both thought they were cool. Katelyn's is small just above her right thigh but Dante's is one that goes over his back.

Aaron always wears his bandana. in my brain he's never been able to control his eyes.

Kim works at a library with Zane, and they have this weird friendship where they don't really know each other but talk every so often while the library's quiet.

Lucinda was born with feint markings all over her body, but they grew more vibrant as she developed her witchcraft

Travis was also born with witchcraft markings, but he chooses to hide them. you know, until starlight.

Aaron has absolutely no sense of style

Zane has a tramp stamp tattoo he got when he was drunk LMAO. hes also got a semicolon tattoo on the left side of his neck

This isn't even a headcannon, I was gonna put Garroth and Katelyn in matching shirts but then I realised that it would probably just look like Garroth stole her shirt KJFSJKDF

zane straightens his hair. and the head damage is BAD he has like 2C hair that hes been straightening WET.

Kim's had long hair her whole life, and never really wanted to change it. but then one day Lucinda offered to get it cut and dyed for her to 'up her confidence' and honestly she really likes it :3

Travis can shapeshift, he's always been able to but pre-starlight it was just simple things, like changing his hair hiding certain aspects of himself. but after he's able to do a lot more (he just doesn't really like to.)

Dante can dance he does hip hop mainly (NO I AM NOT BIASED!!)

now, for last names. Katelyn Fortin - Fortin, meaning Strong. Dante Leto - Leto, meaning hidden. or Forgotten. Lucinda Hawthorne - I feel like this ones self explanatory LMAO Kim Navon - Navon, meaning Wise. Aphia Dea'Matrona - Aphia; excellent, most important. Dea'Matrona; Dea matrona is the spanish translation of 'The Matron'

Mystreet rewrite headcanons because I miss it

Blaze, Aaron, Dottie, Rylan, and Daniel all had a mohawks in college once Aaron was free from his dad

They looked amazing and Aaron awkwardly sat there while Blaze, Dottie, Rylan, and Daniel complimented eachother and made out

The werewolves are very into PDA they love eachother and they don’t care to hide it

Aaron is the fifth wheel until Lily starts hanging out with the pack and then again when he and Aphmau dated after college

Everyone thinks Aaron is the scary dog and Nana is the innocent sweetheart but it’s the opposite

Aaron kindly helps an elderly lady cross the street while complimenting her handbag

Nana cusses out and nearly fights every driver that dares to honk at Aaron or the elderly lady

Nana is a feral gremlin dressed up in a pretty pink outfit

Travis likes to paint Katelyn’s nails even if it’s not Katelyn’s thing

Lucinda and Travis played Gomez and Morticia in their school’s production of the Addams family

Katelyn didn’t know who she would rather be in that situation

Katelyn giggled and rambled about her first girlfriend no one could get her to shut up about it

Aaron was the same way when he started dating Lily everything she did made him blush

They both sat on their beds twirling their hair and kicking their legs

Werewolf kids get excited over everything like puppies they will scream over the garbage man collecting their trash

Nana bites to show affection and she loves biting Zane’s tummy because it’s soft and warm

She was a biscuit making kid and she hasn’t grown out of it when she is on the verge of sleep she just starts making biscuits on Zane’s stomach

Aphmau and Ein had an emo and goth phase Ein hasn’t grown out of his

Werewolves in mystreet are domesticated and only the ultima has wolf ears and tail

Dottie has Dalmatian ears and tail because it’s cute

Everyone assumes Aaron was a husky or something when they first saw his ears

ok I'm not big into the mystreet rewrites even though I deffo understand why people do them, but this is my personal little rewrite of that one scene in season 6 when garroth and zane are fighting 😊

instead of zane moving his mask and telling garroth 'i love you big brother' (which like sure, but this entire time zane has been saying the same thing so why now is garroth snapping out of the control of the forever potion?) garroth stabs zane through the shoulder, and as he's falling to the ground his hair is moved off his right eye and garroth sees the scars on/over his eye -from throwing that snowball at him when they were kids-and thats what snaps him out of it

Because garroth comes to the realization that he's hurting his brother again due to something he has no control over and that's so painful for him that it snaps him out of the potion

I think this works better than zane removing his mask because like yeah, he's being vulnerable, but isn't their whole arc about garroth accepting who zane is as his own person, not just in garroth's shadow? The mask is a part of zane, he's always wearing it, so him taking it off is kind of saying 'I will change who I am for you' which isn't the right message in my opinion. I think it's better if garroth has to realize something, especially something like 'oh dang I'm hurting zane because of something Garte imposed on me, like I've been doing my whole life'

anywayyy my favorite trope is tragic brothers so I dig deep into garroth and zane 😊😊

Things that Happen in my Mystreet Rewrite that just make sense…✨

First of all, Laurance did not discover where Aphmau lived and decided they should move in across the street (bc holy shit that’s creepy). They had already lived across the street and told Aphmau, Katelyn, and Nana about the listing. They agreed bc it was closer to wear they all worked.

Nana DOES NOT HAVE A SHIPPING SHRINE.

Aphmau works as an editor at a publishing company, Katelyn is a teaching assistant going back to college, and Nana is a waitress/baker at a popular bistro in the city.

Garroth and Laurance are very much still in love with her but Aphmau really just doesn’t notice.

Aphmau is an aspiring author writing a fantasy novel. She will get anyone and everyone to look over chapters and read them (Nana is a current victim of this)

Speaking of Nana I’d like to start her backstory early. We’d meet some of her siblings and we’ll see her ignoring calls from her parents. The secret is that the Ashida’s are a crazy rich family and Nana wanted to make a name for herself without the Ashida name. So much so that she started going by K.C. instead of the matriarch grandmother’s name she shares with her.

Nana is a chronic overworker, she’s so sweet but she does not know how to take a break.

Katelyn is the pseudo mother to her 3 brothers (Kacey, Kaden, and Kenneth.) She will call them to make sure they are alright as well as her father, who assures her that she can live her life without worrying about them so much.

Since there are a LOT of love potion hijinks in the series, the neighborhood play they put on will be A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In that arc, the relationships of Garroth, Laurance, and Aphmau will be explored, but also the drama of Nicole, Dante, and Nana.

Zane is more of a businessman with the whole suit and everything. He can talk great business but never make him form actual connections with people bc he has no clue how to do that.

Aphmau and him do still become very good friends and they stay like that for the rest of the series.

Travis is just some very awkward guy who makes up for it with a lot of confidence. If someone flirts back he starts to silently panic.

Most of the relationships like Garlaurmau/Zana/Travlyn will be slow burns in their own way. At the end of the first “season” Aphmau will open up to the idea of dating them both.

when i was in freshman year i had an irrational hatred for aphmau's writing and her character for one reason or another, so i made an mcd rewrite in which she was the villain and garroth was the main protagonist.

the hatred has since died down and im no longer as insanely angry at her anymore, but the rewrite wasnt that bad. i might revive it, but i want to tie in mystreet as well since i never got around to rewriting mystreet either.

thoughts? not on me rewriting or posting it, because i probably will anyways. i mean thoughts on an mcd rewrite in which aphmau is the villain of the story and garroth is the protagonist.
