Everybody says to read the Abstract or the Discussion section first. They are wrong. What you need to do before anything else is scroll down to the Conflicts of Interest section. If the company that makes the product funded the study saying how safe and effective and flawless the product is, you throw that paper in the TRASH.

"I want sources" but have you considered whether you can actually evaluate the quality of sources?

How does the peer review system in science work?

What's a normal curve?

How do you decide whether two groups of scores are meaningfully different?

What's a methods section? What order do you read a paper in? Are footnotes or end notes better?

What distinguishes legitimate scientific sources from non-legitimate, pseudoscience sources?

If you don't know how to find sources, I'm not convinced you know how to read them. And that makes me worried that when people throw things at you and yell "THIS IS A SOURCE!", rather than critically evaluating both the claim and the source, you'll go "oh shit there's a source that isn't immediate, obvious bullshit!" and believe it even if it is just slightly less obvious bullshit.
