Personally I like most of Jorge's visions, but I like my own interpretation of Six Hundred Strike.
Basically I imagened that after Oddy gets drowned a bit the ghosts wake him up and give him their strength instead of pulling him down/embracing him in death.
Oddy then opens the bag, the winds blowing back the ocean so they're fighting on the ocean floor, Oddy losing to Poseidon (duh) until the six hundred men start "attacking" him and he gets distracted enough that Odysseus manages to get a couple of good strikes.
Then Poseidon gets stabbed to Hades and back.
Also he's a gigantic water horse because that's neat
#Also I think that Hades personally send the souls#For a last stand against Poseidon#Because he thought it would ruin his brother's day#He was right lol#epic the musical#epic the vengeance saga#epic the musical spoilers#Men it was great#But I can't listen to calypso's song#It was good don't get me wrong#But it gives me shivers#odysseus#poseidon#six hundred strike#Six hundred men

Y’know how EPIC the musical(‘s original plan [?]) was to be a musical?
If it’s a live thing one day, do y’all think Mr. Jalapeño would be fine with the crowd audibly singing along with ensemble/crew bits?
cause it’s supposed to be roughly 🎶six-hundred men🎶?
(mostly a joke, mostly)
#i still dont know how to tag#epic the musical#ensemble#epic crew#winions#calling all winions#six hundred men#mr jalapeño#jorge rivera herrans#wouldn’t you like#to sing with the crew?#they have the best parts#chorus in just a man#full speed ahead#all the winion bits#storm#she doesn’t play she puppeteers#Captain#captain#why would you let the cyclops live#when ruthlessness is mercy

Can you... Can you guys imagine. Get in the Water. Poseidon is MAD happy to finally get Odysseus. Get in the Water, Odysseus. Or I will DROWN your Ithaca, or I will GOUGE your son's eyes. Odysseus answers, begs. What else can he do? It's Been Ten Years, they are both hurting from loses. Why can't they stop and just... go home. Finally, finally get to the home that is so close.
But No. The god says "Die". The god sends waves, sends him under. Ruthlessness is Mercy, he said before. He will not let Odysseus get away again. There is no escaping god of the sea now, not so deep in the ocean. Odysseus can hear Polites, can hear Eurylochous, can hear his mother. All of his comrades are Waiting, Waiting, Waiting. He can't let go but he must. They are Waiting. But then something unlike the sound of trumpets - crashing waves - resonates within him. A beat like his heart but getting stronger, getting more powerful. His chest is vibrating with it when he finally hears the tick-ticking, so familiar yet foreign. Then, a voice shakes his very being. "I was promised blood." Godly wrath fills him and suddenly Ares' instruments are all he can hear, followed closely by his soldiers' vengeful cry.
#epic the musical#epic vengeance saga#epic what if#odysseus#ares#athena#CAN YOU IMAGINE#Ares being god of war is painfully underutilizied in most media#But if Athena is the goddes of tactical warfare#then Ares must be a god of a common soldier#Odysseus' men were far from tacticians#isn't it fitting if their restlessness and their capitan's rage would catch his attention#Odysseus in act 2 should be Ares'#you can't change my mind#but also just to be clear i do like Vengence a lot#I just need to make excuses and headcanons to enjoy it to the fullest as some things just feel way too immersion breaking for me#so there#that's my interpretation of Six Hundred Strikes and how it's possible#I guess also#Polites#Eurylochous#Yes i learned how to spell his name can someone be proud of me

In six hundred strike the way all 600 men pick up the "waiting" song Odysseus's Mom sang earlier... I can't stop thinking about it like they're all waiting for him to die at Poseidon's hand and join them in the underworld. 600 men...they all waited to get home they trusted him. Now they wait in the underworld for their captain

six hundred strike more like five hundred fifty seven strike
#I GET WHAT THEY WERE GOING FOR SIX HUNDRED STRIKE IS EPIC (pun not intended)#i just think it's. very funny#poseidon technically killed five hundred fifty seven of his men (or a little less considering polyphemus)#the others were lost to scylla and then zeus#it just doesnt have the same ring to it#also very funny that the voices odysseus hears that motivate him to fight back#are three people who poseidon DIDN'T kill#polites (polyphemus) eurylochus (zeus) and his mother (heartbreak)#conversely. could be argued theyre the three people odysseus got killed#first by playing things wrong with polyphemus#then by breaking eurylochus's trust by sacrificing six men#and by his arrogance keeping him from making it home#epic the musical#the vengeance saga

Open arms is such a fucking heartbreaker my god
‘A cave!’ And his fucking voice, he’s just so… excited, he’s happy, things are working out!
And then the cave.
I just think it’s important that the motif with all of the positive upswings and just blatantly vibrant notes is his, even after death
And even when he died, he kept to it! He died believing in his wonderful world! He already knew that the lotus eaters had led them to the cyclops, he may have even had a few seconds of consciousness after the cyclops got him, but he still believed!
It kind of reminds of that one servant in a Shakespeare play, the manservant without a name. The manservant hears the lords (or something) plotting a terrible thing, so he steps forward to attempt to stop them- and is immediately killed. He knows this will happen. He knows he cannot stop them. But regardless he tries
Anyway I am completely normal about the notion of like- having a positive philosophy about your impact on the world and how the world itself is a kind one and dying because of it but still nonetheless dying with belief that the world is kind regardless
#epic the musical#epic the troy saga#epic the cyclops saga#Polites#Odysseus#tragedy#with open arms#a cave!#baby no#and it’s like#was it malicious#on the lotus eaters part?#were they spiteful?#or did they simply not see the risk?#I am so normal about this#also right after Polites asks Odysseus to follow his philosophy#when encountering the lotus eaters#and saying ‘my friend’#odysseus calls all of his men his ‘six hundred friends’#anyways just catch me in the back sobbing desperately over polites#this boy better get at least a few bars later on in other albums
