Creepypasta’s Halloween
Dungeon~
The dungeon likes to bring havoc on Halloween!
I haven’t talked much about the set up of the Dungeon- but they have “sections” like the mansion.
They all like to do different things and cause chaos in their own ways.
Sometimes they’ll even team up with members of the mansion to make the ultimate mischief!!!
Casters
Judge thinks she’s too good for Halloween 🙄
Scarecrow will usually pretend to be an eerie corn maze decoration and snap her jaws at children to scare them shitless
Silent Borders
Ani has fun going to the park and giving people a chill. Sometimes, she’ll kill them with frost bite for little to no reason.
Zero likes to just break things: store windows, car windows, house windows, bones, etc. It’s her favorite way to spend Halloween.
Edges
Bloody Painter usually stays in and paints spooky pictures.
A Truce for The Night
Slenderman and Zalgo will let them have their fun
Bloody Angel, Candy Cane, Candy Pop, Laughing Jack and Laughing Jill, will all go to the Laughing Clowns’ Fun House of Death. Sometimes Jason or Vine will join them, but it’s not often.
Ani and Zero go to the DR’s party 🤭
Chess Master, Dark Link, Glitchy Red, and Kagekao have a tradition of having a giant game tournament! Lost Silver just kinda watches from the sidelines.
Kate will try her hardest to meet scarecrow in the corn maze. But she usually fails.
Proxies
Most of them don’t go anywhere, they have to make sure a few of the non-proxies don’t kill each other-
Rouge and Wilson spend a couple’s night watching horror movies and eating chocolate <3
Kat doesn’t celebrate Halloween. Instead he’s making Una Ofrenda for El día de Los muertos.
X-Virus will go trick or treating with Toby and Sally. Brian and mostly Tim don’t trust them all to be out together XD
Defensive Rebellion
Nathan and Puppeteer practically do teenager level pranks 🙄
Clockwork, Nina, and Jane are setting up for a Halloween Party!
Offensive Rebellion
Liu and EJ just have the house to themselves. They put on some scary movies and end up napping instead 😴
Divider Creds: Sister-Lucifer ; adornedwithlight
Header Creds: MEEE!!!!

Hi miss ma'am❗️❗️ I'm gonna ask for a Arcane matchup so get ready❤️❤️❤️❤️
for a run down; my names Luna, AFAB girlie and bisexual.
Personality wise, I'm a ISFP if that helps, I'm genuinely more quiet and observant but I warm up to people pretty quick, I like making people laugh and have an almost mom/wine aunt quality to me (witty much? Its all out if love), I'd say I'm a pretty optimistic person overall- I'm willing to listen to everyone and get an idea of other people's pov :)
For appearance, frame wise I'm pretty short (5'1") but plenty of muscle with added lean-curves, with that I do have chubby cheeks, dark brown eyes, pale skin, medium length wavy/curly black hair, i love wearing false lashes and ive got plenty of piercings (most of which I've all done myself), I'd dress pretty casual (I feel like I'd be from zaun) but I love any kind of jewelry (go to: hoop earrings+dangy ones, layered star and hamsa necklace) i thrift a lot of my clothes so I end up with a lot of 2000's-2010's pieces.
hobbies/likes i got; i love pot, if I'm gonna learn to cook/bake you better I can make mean edibles, I like drawing (getting into tattooing soon), i thrift like a menace, listening to music (I like everything but rn I'm really into bôa, jack off Jill, kali uchis, Bjork and Tyler the creator), knitting & crochet, and I used to do sparring/boxing (haven't had much time now).
Hope that's enough info, and remember 2 take your time mama. Xoxo
Hello thx for the request! I got a little carried away lol. Enjoy!
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
JINX!!!
You and Jinx have a sort of opposite attracts kind of thing going on. You may be more on the quiet side, but that’s what attracted her to you.
She feels as if you won’t judge her for being who she is and can have an actual conversation with you.
Ever since Jinx came to live with Silco, you and her have been inseparable. Best friends and rulers of the under city.
You protected her whenever Sevika would get mad at her, you would get into hi-jinx (hehe pun) and shenanigans together, you would hold her when the nightmares were too real or the voices were too loud.
However, eventually she started to push you away and shut you out. She was afraid you would leave her old family did and the thought of losing you hurt her more than anything.
And when her sister came back with a strange woman she didn’t know what to think.
You tried so hard to patch things up with her, but you couldn’t seem to reach her. Until the night she almost died.
You screamed and cried and held her in your arms until Silco arrived. When the doctor operated to save her it made you sick to see her through all that pain but you stayed and held her hand.
The first thing she saw when she woke up was you. And that’s how she knew you were the one and vowed to never leave you again.
It was also what gave into part of her decision to lay low after the attack on piltover. She didn’t want to jeopardize your relationship and just wanted a quiet life with you.
After the events of season 2 (we’re gonna pretend no one died) you two start a quiet life in the under city and try your best to make things better.
You, her, and echo work on inventions and fundraisers to help the people of Zaun.
You guys adopted Isha and now she’s your daughter.
You braid and color each other’s hair and isha’s too.
The three you have family baking days. Sometimes you bake edibles but only when Isha’s out with her god mother Sevika or her Aunts Vi and Caitlyn
Yes Sevika is the godmother fight me
You guys get high together on dates sometimes.
Make out while being high.
You spar together which sometimes end in make out sessions.
You teach Isha some self defense moves to protect herself.
You make crochet gifts for your little family and they wear them with pride.
You all go thrifting together and play dress up pretending to be royalty.
You have little dance parties in the street blasting your favorite songs.
You and your wife Jinx shall lead Zaun to a brighter future.

CREEPYPASTA RELATIONSHIPS! - Sally Williams
Sally William’s relationships with other pastas.
|Jeff the killer| // Ehh
They both are like siblings that claim they hate each other, Sally doesn’t really like him all that much because he’s gross, weird, and a bitch. But trust me, he doesn’t want to get on her bad side. She’s a little devil.
|Ben Drowned| 👍🏻
Again, like siblings, only Ben’s way nicer to Sally than Jeff is. And when she has nightmares, she’s allowed to stay in Ben’s room and watch him play video games until she falls asleep<3
|Eyeless Jack| 🫱🏼🫲🏿
Like a father to her, he’s pretty much the no.1 person she trusts. He calms her down and takes care of her, protecting her. Plus he’s generally nice and respectful. One of the “last people she has”.
|Jane the Killer|
Mother figure to her, she really likes her style, and she knows that her and her wife hate Jeff. She knows why, but she still doesn’t exactly want Jeff to be hurt.
|Ticci-Toby|
She terrifies him. He’s absolutely shitlessly scared of her. She likes torturing him when no one’s around, but when another girl is there, she’ll act like a little angel. But she still doesn’t want him getting hurt, cause again, he’s one of the only people she has left and can trust.
|Nina the Killer|
Big sister figure, she adores her style. Nina has proved in multiple ways that she’d do anything to protect Sally. She’s put herself standing before danger in order to keep Sally safe.
|Clockwork| Another older sister figure, yet more vulgar and violent. Basically, “Touch the kid and I’m gonna fucking murder you, bitch.” Looking at Sally is fine, but get too close and she’ll end your entire fucking bloodline.
|Lost Silver|
Sally really likes them! She finds them sweet. One of her very best friends in fact! She likes talking to them a lot. And she’ll often bring them up in random conversations.
|Kagekao| One of the only people she has left again. Only this time, he’s not around as much. Since Sally usually can’t leave the forest and go to the overrealm in the small town where Kagekao usually spends his time, she doesn’t get to see him quite often. Though the two are very close! Jeff once lost Sally in the forest, and lucky, Kagekao was there to take care of her, then beat the shit out of Jeff for leaving a small innocent child alone in the forest. He treats her like a little angel<3
|Blake / The Puppeteer| They get along very well. Blake usually will play games with her, like dress up, make over, or even have tea parties. She’s admitted herself, that he is in fact better than Jeff in most ways. He reads her bedtime stories, and will sometimes watch her from the shadows in order to make sure she’s alright.
|Bloody Painter| He’s kind of scared of her. He knows what she can do, and it scares him a lot. But either way, he tries to hide his fear. He lets her draw and stuff, and look through his sketchbooks. But she has to keep quiet about all the sketches of Blake. :3
|Nurse Ann| One of her caretakers, she’ll usually put her to bed and wash her. Sally likes her, even though she’s really quiet, and most of everyone finds her creepy. Shes like a mother figure to her!
|Eyeless Lulu| Big sister!!!! Lulu will read her stories, and take her out into the forest for walks. Since Lulu lives in the abandoned hospital with Nurse Ann as her caretaker, Ann will sometimes give her the responsibility to make sure Sally is safe in the forest.
|Slenderman| No. she hates him. She hates him a lot. She knows what he’s done to her friends. No.
|Laughing Jack| Best friends! Found her after she killed her uncle, and for some reason, he wasn’t aggressive towards her. He brought her back to the mansion, but kept her a little secrets for only the other clowns to see! Jill thought she was adorable, Candy Pop didn’t know what in the fuck she was, and Grande officially claimed her as one of the Circus freaks<3 (this was before Jason and Nathan arrived.) sadly, Slenderman found out and took her away. (If yall want more info on that I’ll be glad to share!)
|Laughing Jill| She’s pretty neat! She reminds Sally of a doll, she is also considerably one of her Caretakers.
|Candy Pop|
He finds her a funny little critter. He likes all the cool shit she can do, and he’ll sometimes do her make up like a clown or jester would when she asks! He knows she’s more than some little sweet innocent girl. Cause he can see right through the act. In reality, she’s a eldritch horror, more powerful than Slenderman, and possibly even Zalgo.
|Nathan the Nobody|
He’s chill with her, and she’s chill with him. They don’t interact with each other often, but when they do, Sally’ll just kind of cling onto the guy innocently. he doesn’t really mind. She reminds him of his sister anyway….
|Crystal Lux| Speaking of Nathan’s sister, we have, well- Nathan’s sister! She’s like an older sister to a bunch of ghosts and spirits, like Sally, Lifeless Lucy, and more.
|Brian / Hoodie| She’s fine with him. He gets her candy every time he visits her. All he’s gotta do is follow her boundaries and he’s fine! And he does. He’s respectful.
|Tim / Masky| ehhh, she doesn’t really like him.
|Lazari| She misses her. A lot. And whenever Blake is around, she’ll ask him how Lazari’s been!
|Kate the Chaser| Big sister!
That’s all for now! Who next?

Find Five Lines
Thanks to @mysticstarlightduck for the tag!
Rules: post excerpts following the prompts, then change one prompt for the next person!
Thought it'd be fun if I only pulled from SOTL!
1. A line about a building
Jack scrutinized the castle before him. It stretched up, up, up into the sky--and as they were already in the clouds, Jack didn’t want to know how high the tallest tower was above the ground--how he wouldn’t like to be the poor bloke who was defenestrated from it. The castle was made of some sort of dark stone, giving it the unsettling feel of a haunted house.
2. A sad line
Jack dug through his pack, pulling out all of the results for all of his classes, frowning at the C’s and D’s marked all over them. It didn’t bother him. It didn’t. But for some reason, there was a sour taste in his mouth, and he had the sudden urge to crumple the papers or tear them apart. His fingers clenched the papers, causing them to bend and crinkle under his grip. He sighed, loosening his hold and resting his head against his hand. “I did my best,” he murmured to himself. “And that’s all they should be asking of me.” He lifted his head, not feeling much better.
3. A line about a drink
Úrsula sat patiently as she heard the locks on the exterior of her bedroom door perform a familiar rhythm, tapping along on her leg lightly. Click clack, crittle, clack clack, click, click, clickity clack, tap tap tap. The door opened and Úrsula’s mamãe entered holding a tray carrying a bowl of caldeirada and a simple glass of water.
4. A line that is shouted
Jack froze as both giants turned toward the sound. Instantly, the male was up and crossing the room. Jack bolted toward the end of the mantle, suddenly finding an adrenaline-fueled strength to lift the harp. “Go!” he shouted at Jill and Beau. “I’ll catch up!”
5. A funny line
“Sheesh, she’s a crank,” Ritchie muttered. “And a party-pooper.” “Why are we less mature than our ten-year-old sister?” Tierney asked, sitting up to join his brothers. “Don’t worry, she’ll mature less when she’s older,” said Jarred, rising to his feet.
I'll tag @mk-writes-stuff @thepeculiarbird @literarynecromancy @honeybewrites @winterandwords
+ ANYONE ELSE
Your prompts:
A line about a building
A sad line
A line about the weather
A line that is shouted
A funny line

I don't know what to say here this month. February, eh? Hate February, the Thursday of months, I'm just clinging to sanity while I wait for spring. Here are the books that helped me through what is basically a month of overcast skies and fucking winter rain.

Candy Color Paradox v6
Candy Color Paradox is a series I’ve been reading for years now and I’ve really enjoyed how the relationship in this one has progressed over that time. It started somewhat similar to how you’d expect a yaoi manga to start — lots of tension, drama, smut, and some light antagonism between the two main characters who both work at the same weekly magazine. But it’s eased into something that’s really quite genuine. This most recent volume focused entirely on moving in together and all the little complications and insecurities that arise because of that.
Circus of Fear
A 1980s D&D choose your own adventure novel so the quality is exactly what you would expect, but at the very least it was a fun little diversion. Doing a CYOA book with a friend can honestly be a blast, they just feel so silly, and the setting of a magical, vaguely sinister circus is always an enjoyable backdrop. We managed to get a good ending on the second try! So yay! I'd honestly like to read it again and try some of the other routes that also sounding intriguing.

Dungeon Meshi // Delicious in Dungeon v1
Me and my girlfriend started watching Dungeon Meshi because we’d seen so much about it on tumblr lately and wow. Just wow. It really is doing something special and we’re completely enamoured. Since we’re waiting for new episodes, I picked up the first book so we could compare it and the show — it’s really impressive how closely they align! And the art is really lovely, it stands out and not just for it's food glamour shots.
For those who haven't been seduced into watching the anime yet: Dungeon Meshi / Delicious in Dungeon is a DND-style parody in which the adventuring party needs to enter the monster-filled dungeon to save one of their companions who got eaten by a red dragon. They need to get to her and revive her before she entirely digested. However, to hasten their quest (and indulge one of their member’s strange obsessions) they begin to hunt and eat the monsters that fill the dungeon instead of trying to bring food in from the outside. This is 80% a cooking anime and 20% a comedic adventure anime. Book or show, doesn’t matter which, you should give it a try if you haven’t.

Down Among the Sticks and Bones
I really enjoyed the first book of the series, Every Heart A Doorway, and was excited when I found out there was a prequel about Jack and Jill and the world they visited. This can either be read as a prequel or it works fairly well as a stand-alone novella; the story is about twin sisters who have always been forced to fill very precise societal roles by their parents. One afternoon, they stumble across a magical door in the bottom of a chest and venture down into the sinister world of the moors where one sister is taken in by a vampire lord and the other by a mad scientist. The story looks at how the sisters grow and change when apart from each other and their controlling parents. Excellent story, the language is just so enticing.

Midnight Sun
My brother has been watching all the Twilight movies with a couple of his friends. Listening to him bitch about Jacob like it was 2007 reawakened something in me, so after laughing myself sick I had to go and relisten to Midnight Sun. Still genuinely and unironically love this book, it’s pure trash but by god it's my trash. I’m a simple soul.

Odder
I’ve been hearing great things about this book, and it’s hard to go wrong with Katherine Applegate so I was excited to finally read it. This is a book written entirely in free verse poetry about an orphaned otter and her experiences being rescued by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It’s inspired by a true story (several true stories, actually!) and it's very worth picking up even if you don't usually go for poetry. It's charming and reads very easily.

Old-Fashioned Cupcake
A middle-aged salaryman is feeling worn down by the humdrum nature of his life, which is filled mostly with work these days. This manga kicks off with his coworker suggests that if he wants to deal with the feelings of boredom and aging, then he needs to do something to shake up his life: so he suggests that they “act like a pair of teenage girls” and go to a fancy new pancake shop just because it seems fun, never mind that it’s not something grown men are supposed to do. This manga ended up being pretty darn cute -- it was slow and compassionate and loving -- and it managed to convince me to buy its sequel.

Professor Calculus: Science’s Forgotten Genius
A ridiculous little book I bought on impulse that was nevertheless a lot of fun to read. It’s a tribute to Cuthbert Calculus, celebrating the 80th anniversary of his first appearance in Tintin. It dives into some of the inspirations that went into the character, and also lovingly and cheekily explores some "facts" we know about Calculus as a person… and wildly extrapolates more from there. It was a cute little read for anyone who’s a fan of the series and wants something a little extra.

Return to Oz
I recently rewatched this movie and maintain that I like it more than the original film, sorry. It made me decide to grab the novelization because I’m always a sucker for a novelization <3 This one was pretty solid too, it actually included details that were left out of the film and improve the stories overall cohesion which is always the marker of a good novelization.
Return to Oz takes place several months after the original film, when Aunty Em and Uncle Henry are trying to build a new house and get the farm back in order before winter. Concerned by Dorothy’s continued belief in Oz and her increased insomnia, Aunty Em decides to take her to a doctor who offers healing through electroshock therapy. Yeah, it’s exactly as fucking creepy as it sounds… You get a scary aslyum, a sinister head nurse, being strapped to a hospital gurney, and new baddies that scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid. Anyway, before she can be electrocuted, Dorothy manages to escape back to Oz where she discovers her friends are in dire need of help. It’s like Alice: Madness Returns but from Disney. Go watch this movie.

She Drives Me Crazy
I had very mixed feelings about this book. It’s about high school basketball player, Scottie, who has suffered a bad breakup with her girlfriend who moved schools to play on the opposing basketball team. Things go from bad to worse when she gets into a car accident with her arch-nemesis, the cheerleader Irene. One things lead to another and bada bing bada boom we have a fake dating scheme so that Scottie can get back at her ex.
This book had some genuinely fun moments (I’m always a sucker for a fake dating scheme, and the characters were reasonably fun) but it’s biggest failing is one that I’ve seen more than I like in current queer lit. It just tries so. fucking. hard. to be unproblematic. Like yeah, it’s great to see healthy relationships but it was SO explicit about it. So much therapy speak, way more than feels natural for a conversation or internal monolgue, especially when they’re in high emotions. The “banter” was very scripted. It was a book that felt like it had a laugh track. And while the ending was satisfying enough, it was also… I don’t know. Anticlimactic. We just spent so long tying everything up in a perfectly neat little bow that it really just strolled to an ending that was obvious from a mile away.
Like look, I get it, we want this to be squeaky clean and beyond reproach, but I have NEVER entered a fake dating story hoping that everyone was going to be really sensible and respectful and level-headed. Fake dating is the slapstick of the romance world, I want some Shakespearean level bullshit, please don’t try to gussy it up for me. Gonna go and rewatch 10 Things I Hate About You or something just to feel things again. Or maybe pop over to AO3, your average fic writer at least understands that when I say fake dating I mean I want something absolutely fucking unhinged and filled to the gill with mutual pining.
So yeah, if you want a sports-based high school sapphic romance: it’s not a bad book. It went down easy, I liked listening to it in the mornings when I needed something light before work. Some bits I even quite enjoyed. But it’s not going to rock your world.

Shuna’s Journey
Well, if nothing else you can really, definitely tell this was done by Hayoa Miyazaki. I’m honestly not really sure how I felt about it. The art was beautiful, and the story was pure undiluted Miyazaki through and through. The narrative was very nice. The story and message was poignant. It was a nice book. I can’t say it’s stuck very heavily in my mind, but I enjoyed reading it. It felt like a precursor to Princess Monoke / Nausicaa, perhaps?

The Witches
The story of one child and his grandmother needing to contend with witches. Not fairytale witches. Real witches. And all their horrible, child-hating ways. One thing I will always love about Dahl is that when he wants to write about something Horrible, nothing will stop him. His villains are truly villainous and the witches are a prime example of that! I loved the description of the witches and their horrible, sinister deeds, especially in the first half of the book. This sure is Child Murder: The Novel! The ending was absolutely not what I was expecting, and I appreciate that. Such a bizarre book.

Prologue
•Their love •

A/N:
This is my first fanfic so please tell me how you really feel good or bad I just want to read your honest opinions. If this do well then I might do another one.
Warnings: none
Summary: will Elvis and Jillian fall in love after filming their first movie together? Will Elvis choose Jillian or Priscilla? Read on as Jillian falls in love with Elvis and see what happens between the two.
1963
Jillian is the president of her grade she is the most smartest kid in school and she's popular for her kindness and her beauty. Some girls don't like her but that doesn't stop her from being nice and caring to everyone.
Today she got up at 5 so she could have time to be ready and get out the door on time so they can decorate the school. Today the school is having a somewhat of a pep rally; she loved being the president of her grade it's some what like politics but it's fun when you have to plan party's and stuff with other presidents and their assistant presidents.
She walked downstairs her mother left her a note of the kitchen table.
~
Good morning Apple,
I hope you have a great day at school, your breakfast is in the microwave and your lunch money is in the drawer on the left. I'll see you to night me and daddy loves you.
Love mom
~
Jillian smiled she warmed up her breakfast and ate it she washed her dishes dried them off then put them away; she grabbed her backpack and her lunch money she looked up the house and got into her car she put her backpack in the back seat. Jillian cranked up her car it was pretty warm for it to be a normal Monday in February.
Not to far a man in a black car was watching her he had been watching her since last year in July taking pictures of her and taking notes of her. She looked behind her before backing out of the driveway she put the car in drive and made her way to her best friend's house Kelly Moore.
She pulled in her driveway and parked her car soon Kelly walked outside with their grade colors Blue and white. "Hey Lovey." Kelly said getting into the car Jillian smiled. "Hi." Kelly and Jillian was the school's popular duo Jillian was the sweet and bubbly ginger and Kelly was the go for it and having fun brown. Kelly protected Jillian she was like her big sister.
"Lovey did you get the decorations?" "Yes yes I remember this time. Their in the trunk." Once they made it to school Jillian parked her car and turned it off Kelly always took her keys for her or she will lose them. "Jill!" Someone yelled her nickname she turned around to see one of her boy best friends from her friend group recording her she smiled and waved.
She did a little dance and giggled Kelly opened the trunk a few of their friends helped them get the decorations out they walked in the school. Jack Harris one of the football players has a crush on Jillian but he was competing with Derek Williams, Charles Henderson, Harvey Clover, Edward Hartwell, and Danny Colebrook.
Derek had his team jacket on it was red, gold, and white. He was captain of the football team, he walked up to Jill and put his arm around her shoulders she looked up and smiled. "Hi Der!" She said Kelly kept an eye of all 6 boys and an even closer eye when they was close to her. She didn't want them breaking Jill's heart, her heart was to golden like a beautiful diamond. "Hey Jill. You look beautiful." She smiled. "Thank you Der, hey can you help me get this up there?" She asked pointing on top of the lockers. "Sure." He grabbed a chair and helped her on it Kelly noticed Jill's short skirt so she rushed over. "Hey Derek give me your jacket right quick." Derek didn't question her he just did as he was told and handed it to her. She tied the jacket around Jill's waist he noticed why she was doing that.
"Thanks Kel." Jill smiled before tapping the red ribbon the principal came up to them. "Good morning students." Jillian looked down and smiled. "Good morning Principal Wilson." "Jillian can you come to the office right quick?" "Yes sir, Kel can you finish this until I get back?" "Sure lovey go ahead." Derek helped Jillian jump down she handed the ribbon to Kelly and walked to the office.
"Jillian these came in not to long ago before you had arrived." Principal Wilson pointed to the big thing of flowers she gasped. "Wow." Jill walked up to the flower and smelled them they smelled wonderful. She tried picking them up but they were just to heavy. "I'm gonna go get Derek and Kelly." She rushed out of the office and ran up to where they were.
"Kelly, Derek I need your help." All 3 of them ran back to the office. "I can't pick up the flowers. Kel can you take them home for me."
•
After they finished decorating their side of the school and Kelly took those flowers home for Jill, Jill finished all 10 of her classes but she had to leave 10th class early so she could help people other students with setting up the gym the school cleaned it up yesterday so they didn't have to worry about. She was so tired after school but she had to go home and cook her some dinner. She parked her car and got out, she noticed her parents car still was gone so they were still out she unlocked the door and walked in closing the door behind her, she went straight up to her room and put her stuff away.
She looked at the flowers that Kelly placed on the island she sat on the stool she looked through them then saw a letter she took it out of the big thing of flowers, she opened the letter and read.
Dear Jillian
I know you don't know me yet but I know you I've been watching you thinking you would be great for what's next to come. You have the beauty, the talent, the personality, and the body for what I need you for. I want you to call this number. ***,***,****. Then ask for Mr. Johnson then I'll explain everything to you.
See you soon
••••
She hesitated before walking over to the phone she dialed the number.

Casita 2.0 Headcanons
Casita couldn’t contain its joy at getting to shelter its beloved Madrigal family again. Its tiles and shutters clicking, Casita danced with the people celebrating within. This evening felt like fifty years ago, when Casita materialized from the golden embers of the magic candle. The difference was, while Casita’s revival was just as unexpected as it had been the first time, its welcome dance was greeted with joy.
Casita eagerly dragged the entire community into itself. Come, celebrate with me! Casita had missed them so much. Clearly, they had missed Casita, too. Casita was good as new—its colors just as vibrant as ever. But things were different now, in more ways than one. Casita was back, and so was Bruno. Excited to see all twelve Madrigals together, Casita tossed them all in a giant pile as it brought a camera to take a brand-new family picture.
The party raged well into the night, but not too late. Everybody was tired from finishing building Casita with their own hands. Casita was eager to let the family into their rooms. Most of the bedrooms remained the same as before. But some rooms changed, including the doors.
Alma’s room was still a replica of the house that she had shared with Pedro. Their house in the city had been a humble two-bed one-bath home. Alma had renovated her babies’ original nursery into a library and study for herself when the triplets moved into the bigger nursery across the courtyard from Alma’s room.
Julieta’s room and door stayed the same. Like her mother’s room, it was a functional house on its own. Its walls and fixtures a gentle duck egg blue color, Julieta’s room was a two-bed one-bath unit, with the second bedroom functioning as a ward. Since Julieta’s youth, the second bedroom’s most frequent occupant was Bruno, whom Julieta treated for his migraines and melancholy. The two bedrooms had a Jack and Jill bathroom between them. There was a fully stocked kitchenette and perfectly organized cabinets. As a child, Julieta learned to cook here. While Julieta now did most of her cooking in the main kitchen, her personal kitchenette was convenient for serving sick or injured family members. This way, Julieta did not have to go up and down the stairs just to make and serve healing food, especially for those that stayed in the second bedroom for her to keep an eye on.
Unlike her mother’s and sister’s rooms, Pepa’s room was undoubtedly magical. Beyond her glowing door was a tall atrium. Overhead, there was a raincloud-shaped chandelier, which lit up the room with dancing bits of refracted light from crystal raindrops. The ceiling reflected the weather outside as well as the weather inside Pepa. On a good day, the room was awash with golden sunlight. The unit had three levels. The bottom was a sitting area for Pepa and visitors. The second was a reading nook with a shelf filled with Pepa’s favorite books. The top level was the bedroom that Pepa shared with Félix. The custard yellow wallpaper was adorned with a rain pattern. The décor was meteorology equipment such as anemometers and weathervanes, which were useful for Pepa to measure her own emotions. After Casita’s death and resurrection, Pepa was allowed to let go of her emotions. Her family and the Encanto learned that Pepa’s bad moods never lasted too long and didn’t need to be controlled in the first place. The Encanto’s climate started to resemble that of the rest of the country.
Bruno’s room changed the most. As before, the door opens into a small antechamber with an hourglass-shaped doorway and a wall of falling sand separating the antechamber from the main room. Casita had been unable to control the sandfall for Mirabel because Bruno had not been there. Now, the sandfall parted like a curtain for Bruno and welcome visitors. Intruders would have sand poured onto them, but it wouldn’t necessarily stop them. The sand landed and flowed in canals surrounding the massive circular vision cave. The stairs were gone. It was dark in there, lit only with shards of vision glass mounted to the walls like mosaics as well as bioluminescent mushrooms guiding the path. Bruno had a lever to open and close an oculus at the top of the dome ceiling. In the first year of his return, Bruno decorated the ceiling with a circular rat maze with bamboo and modeled after the labyrinth at the Chartres Cathedral. True to his private and secretive nature, the bedroom was separated from the vision cave with a massive circular door. The bedroom had the same dimensions as the vision cave, so Bruno had plenty of space for himself. Of course, he shared the space with a large mischief of rats. He had a large round bed, a reading nook, a play area for the rats, a cluttered writing desk, a cabinet with a mirror door, and a small altar decorated with holy icons. Rather than an oculus, the bedroom had a square window with a view of the Encanto.
The room closest to Bruno’s was Luisa’s. Before, Luisa’s room had two distinct chambers. There was the gym area where Luisa honed her gift and a secret amusement park where she let loose where no one would think to look. With Luisa being more honest with herself, Casita brought the two chambers together into a playground just for Luisa. Antonio loved hanging out in there, and Luisa loved playing with her youngest cousin. They both enjoyed climbing the jungle gym. In the corner was a massive canvas tent offering Luisa choices between sleeping bags, hammocks, or a bed to sleep in, depending on her mood. The tent was strewn with soft rugs and pillows and stuffed toys. Instead of a punching bag, Luisa had a large roly-poly doll with cartoon features.
Isabela’s room evolved with her gift. From a sickeningly pink garden of flowers and topiaries of herself, it turned into a dark but vibrant jungle that was no less beautiful but decidedly more dangerous. But for the safety of her family and other guests, Isabela grew poisonous plants in an area sealed with a wrought iron gate and fence. She had a pond with giant water lilies. She still grew flowers, mostly a wide assortment of orchid species and creeping plants. There were hundreds of cacti and succulents. Beyond the pond, there was a patch reserved for carnivorous plants. The one thing that stayed the same was her bed, suspended from the high ceiling with thick vines.
Their gifts didn’t change much, so Camilo’s, Dolores’, and Antonio’s rooms didn’t change at all.
Camilo’s room resembled an actor’s dressing room at first glance, complete with a small bathroom and a dresser fully stocked with cosmetics and a labyrinthine walk-in closet of costumes as well as Camilo’s own clothes and personal belongings. But a second door led to a hallway to a theater seating up to a hundred audience members. Camilo rarely used the theater, preferring to perform in the inner courtyard in the open air and sunlight.
Antonio’s was still a massive jungle where his animal friends visited him from their actual home in the mountains. He had multiple hammocks in there, for himself and for guests, which were most frequently Mirabel and Camilo. Antonio had built a stone trail toward the one hammock that he had claimed as his. He didn’t need nightlights because there were always fireflies and bioluminescent fungi comforting him at bedtime.
Dolores’ room looked quite like a normal bedroom, like Abuela’s and Julieta’s. But with the window or door closed, it was entirely soundproof. To reduce the ensuing tinnitus, Dolores had a couple of record players and a variety of gentle music instruments to soothe her. She had music boxes, singing bowls, harps, zithers, and a few drone instruments originating from India. Dolores’ favorite object in the room was a cylinder phonograph, which would produce a soothing white noise if she put in a cylinder with no music recorded into it. She sometimes slept over at Antonio’s room for the crickets or in Bruno’s room for the falling sand, which were almost as good as the drones in her room.
Alas, Casita still wasn’t able to give Mirabel her own room. Mirabel did not hold this against Casita; she was only glad to have her old friend back. As a compromise, Casita made the nursery slightly bigger to accommodate Mirabel’s needlework projects. Casita also did not remove the second bed in the nursery. The spare bed made the nursery perfect for daytime naps for anyone who needed it. Because the family knew that it wouldn’t be very long before Dolores and Mariano would marry and have babies, Mirabel’s padres and tíos started making plans to build an entirely new room on top of the nursery. “If Casita couldn’t make Mirabel a room, we’ll build a room for her,” the adults decided, which warmed Mirabel’s heart. Construction was delayed for a year while the family was adjusting to their new dynamics and changes to their workload. Mirabel didn’t mind; the anticipation of finally having her own space was about as good as having it already. After all, there was no need to hurry as Mariano and Dolores had decided to “take it slow.” Mirabel had even started referring to the nursery as “my room.” The new room would cover nearly the whole wing to give Mirabel space for a closet, an activity area, a closet, and a bathroom. The room would be dominated with a lovely teal color broken with pink and green accents. Mirabel would leave her childhood drawings in the nursery, so she could decorate her teal walls with new artwork and knickknacks of her own. Her bamboo wood floor would be decorated with colorful rugs. Her bed would have a wrought iron frame, painted black with gold butterflies.
To everyone’s surprise, Casita tolerated having a portion of its roof torn off to build a new space on top. It proved to everyone that Mirabel was Casita’s favorite. For Casita’s comfort and relief, the family and their neighbors who would help in the construction would work as quickly as they could.
Downstairs, besides the courtyard, the large, shared bathroom, and the kitchen and dining room, there was a large sala across the courtyard from the kitchen. Both the sala and cocina had access to the wine cellar under the house. The sala functioned as a mini library and music room, too, so Luisa no longer had to carry the piano around. Through the back door from the kitchen, there was the enormous back garden where the family grew fruits, vegetables, and nuts. The backyard was also where they washed and hung laundry, with a drain leading to the nearest stream.
Finally, at the roof of the house, they had a water tank. When the triplets were children, Pepa used to fill it with rainwater. When Luisa got her gift, she took the task of physically carrying the tank to the nearby lake to fill it and then carry it back. This chore helped to make Luisa become stronger as a child. After the reconstruction, Luisa and Pepa took turns filling the water tank. They filled the water tank every three days.
The residents of the Encanto omitted the hollow walls from the construction, so when Casita was revived, it didn’t bring back the spaces in the walls either. There would be no holes or passageways behind the painting beside Dolores’ door or the family tree in the dining room. Even if the walls were broken, there would be no secret passageways to find. Casita felt sturdier that way. Besides, Casita would rather not remind Bruno of his ordeal by keeping the space.
