man there truly will never be anything like the experience of moon's big again. part of this is that the hermits don't really want to do that again (both for 'they didn't like doing the short season' reasons and for 'audience reaction to the storyline' reasons). part of this is that to some extent that kind of moment only works once. but like. the buildup man. the month of streams and videos. the creeping dread. the moon bunnies. and then the day everyone actually DROPPED their video. bdubs and his unreliable narrator moments. "did you get everything you needed". everything about it. i miss her (the moon crashing into hermitcraft)... i just want her back (the moon crashing into hermitcraft)...

Listen, can we get recognition of the son and father relationship in s8 please.

"Huh." Hens eyes follow the back of Bucks retreating back as Bobby looks on as well. "I thought he would have a bigger reaction than that. He was so desperateto get rid off Gerrad." Hen pondered, looking at Bobby who had stepped in the station now fully back as Captain of the 118.

Everyone had celebrated at the news...

Except Buck, who was subdued at best when Bobby announced he was back at the helm of the station.

"Wonder what that's about." Bobby frowned, his stomach already churning at what was to come.

What came next was nothing.

At least nothing from Buck.

No chats, no hugs, no smiles, and no interest in cooking for the team or even helping Bobby cook.

Buck was fine when it came to communicating during calls. Ever the professional.

Too professional for Bobby's liking.

And it didn't go unnoticed by the team.

He had tried to approach Buck about before the end of the shift during his fourth day back but Buck had rebuffed his efforts to talk.

They hadn't talked since he came back, Buck wasn't even talking during team dinners.

Sure he would talk to Eddie, Hen, Ravi, and Chim- all smiles and laughter with the team.

But it was just silence with Bobby.

Bobby had it by day 7 of his return and vowed to actually confront Buck at home.

(Bobby refused to be upset about not realizing that Buck had moved in with Tommy at some point. How had Buck not told him that? That was a really big life changing decision and milestone)

(Of course Bobby had missed the irony of him being upset at Buck)

He drove the extra 40 minutes from DTLA to Silver Lake, he had thankfully been able to find Tommy's address through some old work emails.

"Bobby? What are you doing here?" Tommy asked once he opened the door.

"Is Buck here?"

Tommy's jaw ticked at that, "He's out for a run, should he back soon." He opened the door wide and stepped aside. "Come in."

Bobby nodded in thanks and came into the house. He had to admit to himself, he and Tommy weren't close. It always felt as though they both were keen on putting a wall between them, that line between being professional and overly friendly. Bobby knew why his own reason for doing so, it just took for Buck and Tommy to be dating for him to put together Tommy's reason for the wall as well.

He didn't know what to expect when stepping into Tommy's house. But it felt warm and lived in, it was neat but there were a few knickknacks here and there, pictures of random sites and people with Tommy (including a lovely framed photo of Tommy and Buck at the awards ceremony), and a lot of plants.

He also noticed a few familiar items that he was sure belonged to Buck.

"Can I get you something to drink? Juice? Tea? Water?" Tommy offered, leading them towards the kitchen.

"Waters fine, thanks." Bobby took a quick look around the kitchen, taking a seat at the kitchen nook table.

"So...any particular reason for the drop in visit?" Tommy asked, sounding blase as got three glasses of water, setting aside one on the kitchen island.

Bobby nodded and gave out a meek thank you as Tommy sat from across him.

"I-uh, I'm not sure." Bobby admitted, he looked up at Tommy quizzically. "Has Buck told you anything? I mean, has he been different recently?"

Tommy arched a brow at that. "Bobby, if you're asking if I know why Buck has been giving you the silent treatment at work, you can just ask outright."

Bobby's eyes widened and he knew his mouth was hanging open as well. "So you know the reason then?" He asked the other man cautiously.

Tommy nodded, twisting the glass between his hands.

"Can you tell me why? I've been trying to figure it out but he won't talk to me." Bobby pleaded, "He's acting weird around me. He doesnt want to talk, doesnt want to help me out with cooking duties. He doeant even call me Cap anymore."

Tommy nodded sagely. "I know."

"Can you tell me why?"

He watched as Tommy looked crestfallen at that and sighed before explaining to Bobby. "No, because it's not my place and Evan knows he can trust me. And as much as I respect you Bobby, I respect my boyfriend more."

Bobby pressed his lips together, mildly annoyed and impressed that Buck had found a partner that had his back like this.

Bobby rubbed his face tiredly, shoulders slumping in defeat as he mumbled. "Yeah."

"Safe to assume he's doing his job, right? Responding to calls and orders." Tommy leaned back in his seat, arms crossed. "He's talking and treating you the way he typically would with another captain. You put on the uniform, respond to calls, take orders, and go home."

That had Bobby sit up straight. He felt a weird sense of deja vu at the words- he was unsure if he had said the words before or if someone else had. It felt familiar and bitter all at once.

Tommy looked at him with an imploring expression.

"Because this is a job and not a family." Bobby finished hollowly....

He had said the same thing to Tommy and the rest of the 118 when he had started as Captain.

He said the same thing a few times to Buck too after Buck had started at the station, but it never stuck.

Buck had wormed his way into Bobby's life and heart. Despite trying for all the years to make sure he had never treated Buck differently, he knew he had a soft spot for him.

Athena knew.

Hen knew.

May even knew.

A part of him knew that Buck was aware of it too.

Which was why Bobby was at his ropes end in trying to figure out how his relationship with Buck was now at the step before first step.

It was though they had pressed the reset button on their relationship it this time, it was Buck making sure that they weren't a family.

"Exactly." Tommy pointed at him knowingly, a sad smile that had Bobby feeling more guilt ridden for their relationship.

"Tommy, I-Im so-"

"Y'know the one thing I admire about Evan? Is that he's selfless and resilient as hell, but he's not gonna force someone to love him and he's not gonna settle either. It's either all or nothing, which I definitely appreciate because I want it all with him." Tommy's smile was fond, "I know Evan cares for a lot for the people he considers to be his family, I just wish that they thought the same for him."

Bobby frowned at that, thinking hack to the times where he and the others had been there for Buck when he was hurt.

He was about to retort back when he heard Buck's voice and foot steps approaching them, "Hey baby, you wouldn't mind if we skip the movies toni-"

Buck froze on the spot, his demeanor switching quickly to something darker and moodier as he asked Tommy "What's the captain doing here?"

Both men stood up but only Tommy went to Buck's side.

"He wanted to talk to you." Tommy explained gently, he rubbed Buck's back in comfort. "I know you're pissed but it might help to talk to him. Even just to get closure." Tommy advised.

Bobby frowned at that, still unsure to what led to Buck essentially giving him the silent treatment.

He watched as Tommy whispered something into Buck's ear and saw how Buck's eyes widened and hardened again. His looked straight at Bobby with a disappointed frown.

"Just talk to him." Tommy pressed, "You might get some answers you've been wanting to get." He kissed Buck on the temple ans squeezed his hand, "I'll be in the living room if you need me, okay?"

Buck nodded, letting their hands linger and trace over their arms as they pulled away. "Okay, yeah."

Buck licked his lips, rubbing his face tiredly with the bottom of his shirt. "You really don't get why I'm so angry at you?" He asked Bobby, his voice heavy with confusion, hurt, and frustration.

"No," Bobby stressed, waving his arms out in frustration. "Honestly Buck? I don't get where any of this is coming from. I figured you of all people would be relieved that I would be coming back."

Buck nodded, not in agreement but just because as he slumped down in the seat that Tommy had vacated.

"Yeah," Buck sighed, "but that doesn't undo what you did, Captain."

It was the Captain that did it.

It was the final straw.

Bobby slammed his hands against the table. "Damn it, Buck. What the hell did I do in the first place? What exactly?!

Buck took a deep breath in, his blue eyes dark and wide but his voice was rough- on the verge of tears as he told Bobby "You were planning on leaving and you didn't even bother to tell me."

For all the bubbling anger that Bobby had felt, it only took Buck's shaky voice to break his demeanor.

"Oh."

Three Times Buck Was a Little Brat and One Time Tommy Kissed Him Anyways

The door had barely clicked shut when Buck turned, giving Tommy a once-over before letting out a dramatic sigh.

“That shirt looks really good on you,” he said, voice dropping an octave as he stepped closer. “Reminds me of that date... you know, the one where I kissed you against the truck?”

His gaze lingered on Tommy’s lips, then shifted away, his pout perfectly exaggerated. “Too bad you think I’m gross now, you won’t kiss me anymore.”

Tommy frowned. “Come on, you know I didn’t mean it like that, you're adorable.”

Buck huffed. “Right, sure,” he mumbled, casting his eyes to the floor as he bite back a grin.

Buck was halfway through vacuuming when he spotted them on top of the shelf: the red and blue cones they’d snagged from Christopher’s birthday party. They were a bit squished, but Buck picked them up anyway, studying it for a second before turning his head toward the kitchen, where Tommy was washing their breakfast dishes.

“I miss when you used to think I was a vision in a cone,” he called, raising his voice just enough to catch his boyfriend’s attention. His smirk grew when he heard the clinking of dishes pause. “You probably think I’m disgusting now.”

Tommy sighed, glancing over his shoulder with a shake of his head. “No, I don’t. I still think you’re gorgeous.”

Buck just giving Tommy a look, tossing the party cones aside as he fought back a smile, watching Tommy roll his eyes with a fond smile of his own.

“It’s almost done,” Tommy said, stirring the pot on the stove one last time. “Can you help set the plates, Ev?”

“You sure you want to eat with me? I mean, I wouldn’t want to ruin your appetite,” Buck leaned back against the counter, folding his arms with an exaggerated sigh. “I can eat on the balcony, you know, keep my face out of your sight.”

Tommy turned around, eyebrows furrowed, wooden spoon still in hand. “Evan,” he sighed. “Really? We're still going with this?”

Buck shrugged, lips pressing into a full-fledged pout.

He might’ve thought he was getting away with it, too, until Tommy set the spoon down, closing the distance between them.

Tommy stepped in close, eyes narrowing in that fond way that usually had Buck dropping the act. Only, this time, Buck held his ground, refusing to let go of his pout. “You’re ridiculous, you know that?”

“Oh, so now I’m gross and ridiculous.” Buck muttered, his tone dripping with wounded pride. “Guess it’s—”

He didn’t get to finish, because Tommy’s one hand slipping to Buck’s hip, the other coming up to his chin—tilting his head up with the gentlest touch, careful to not disturb the boils.

Tommy’s thumb traced along his jaw, and his lips curved into a soft smile before he leaned in, pressing his lips to Buck’s pouty lips, lingering just long enough to make his point.

When Tommy pulled back, Buck’s pout was gone, replaced by a smug little smile.

“There. Happy now?”

“Well, that would do for now.”

“Good. Say I think you’re gross one more time, and I’ll kiss you until we’re both out of breath.”

Buck’s grin spread wider, his gaze daring. “You think that’ll stop me?”

Tommy cracked a laugh, pulling him a little closer.

They both knew it wouldn’t.

Clearly, Mulder isn’t a mind reader. Or, he might be, but John likes to give friends of friends the benefit of the doubt. He doesn’t think Dana is the type to stake it all on a man who would leave her out alone in the cold, knowing full well what it’d do to her. 

Post Three Words Doggett realizes there is something amiss between Mulder and Scully.

“Where’s my favourite girl?” Buck practically sung as he walked into Maddie and Chims house. His face lit up with a wide smile when he saw his niece in her costume. “Well that’s just the cutest Toto I’ve ever seen! Even better than the real one!” He pulled her up into is arms for a hug. She immediately grabbed at his fake moustache and he pretended it hurt.

“Hey Tommy.” Maddie said closing the door behind him. “You didn’t want to dress up?” She pointed to her brother in his cowboy costume.

“Hey.” He smiled back. “It’s not really my thing.” He left out the part about his dad yelling at him for wanting to dress up and calling the boys that did it slurs

“Yeah, me either—some cat ears on a headband is the best you’ll get out of me.” She told him. “Buck, We don’t have long—Karen’s going to be here soon to pick her up.”

“Okay, okay.”

“Evan said you used to do this as kids?”

“Yeah. I always took him trick or treating and every year we’d take a photo before we went out. But then suddenly he was too grown up for it.” She sighed looking at her brother. “Anyway, with this being Jee’s first time trick or treating I thought it would be a great time to bring the tradition back.” She smiled.

Maddie put her cat ears back onto her head and stood in front of the fire place with Buck next to her and Jee-Yun stood in front of them.

“Okay, on the count of 3 yell “Happy Halloween!””Chimney directed, phone camera outstretched in front of him. “Ready? 1.. 2.. 3!”

Chimney too a few more before Tommy gestured for the phone.

“I’ll take some family photos for you.”

“Thanks Tommy.” He handed over the phone then crouched down in front of Maddie and Buck, wrapping an arm around his daughter.

Tommy couldn't help but smile at the beautiful family in front of him happily enjoying a fun holiday. There was an element of jealousy underlying the happiness, too. Not just about not getting to really experience the joy of Halloween as a kid, but in having a close family that relished taking part in those traditions.

“Your turn Tommy.” Chim walked over to take the phone from him.

“No, that’s okay—it’s family photo time.”

Before Buck could say anything Maddie moved forward taking Tommy’s hand and pulling him over.

“You are family, Tommy. Come on.” He didn’t get a chance to protest before she was manoeuvring him into position between herself and Buck.

A thick ball of emotion situated in his throat at the gesture. Made even thicker by Evan turning his head and looking at him ever so fondly. They smiled softly at each other before Tommy swung and arm around his boyfriends shoulder; Bucks arm came up behind Tommy and held him by the waist.

“Just a second, just a second..” Chim set the timer on the phone and placed in on the shelf opposite everyone. He quickly moved to the group and took his place next to Maddie.

As the 5 second timer counted down, Buck leaned in and whispered into Tommy’s ear and said for the first time “I love you.”

“Happy Halloween!!” Everyone else called out.

The next time Tommy stayed at Evan’s apartment, he noticed the framed picture on Bucks nightstand.

Buck clenches his hand into a fist, willing it to stop shaking before he picks up his phone. He doesn't want to do this over the phone. He doesn't want to do this at all. But he promised he'd be there for Christopher. Even if they were hundreds of miles apart.

He takes a shaky breath as he taps on Chris' number. There's every chance he won't answer. He's only been responding to the odd text Buck sends.

Buck hiccups at the sound of the kid's voice. Two months without hearing him every day made his heart ache. He doesn't want to hear him because of this though.

"Hey, Chris," Buck says, his voice rough from tears and screaming for Eddie.

"What's wrong?" Chris asks, and Buck wishes the kid wasn't so perceptive, wasn't so used to bad news.

"I'm not... not trying to trick you, buddy, I promise. I wouldn't do this to you," Buck says.

"I know you guys wouldn't," Chris sighs. "So what happened? Is dad okay?"

Buck covers his mouth with his hand as an ugly sob rips from his throat. "No," he whispers. He clears his throat and takes another breath. "No, he- he's not, Chris."

[Noting based on my recent post, this is my ranking for if you're pursuing a male LI. WLW rankings would be very different].

So, to me, I think there are two main criteria that define a season: Love Interests and Gameplay.

Love Interests can be further broken down into:

Sprite Design: How good they look overall as a cast. Are they proportionate? Unique?

Variety: How different/unique are they to previous seasons? Are they all models and carpenters and finance bros?

Fandom Impact: This one is silly and subjective. Are people still talking about them years later? Do they have fanfics and art? If you don't know this person, are you missing out?

Gameplay can be further broken down into:

Quality of Plot Drama: How it's written, how impactful it is. Is it stupid manufactured shit, or is it important and moves the game along? (Cherrygate? Great drama. Suresh wanting to 'give Lulu a chance' after he'd been all in for us? Shitty, awful drama).

Challenges: Are they engaging and interesting? Do they move the plot along?

Replayability: Are there enough unique aspects in the routes that you feel the need to replay?

So, based on these two criteria, I assigned rankings to each season, with Season 2 being the best that fusebox can possibly do. (We already know that it is).

These are completely subjective, but this is what I came up with.

Some brief explanations:

Season 1:

Not the best art style, but overall the proportions were spot on, the body shapes and types were different and unique. Personalities top tier (Tim? Jake? sigh.) Cherrygate, dunking challenge etc.

Season 2:

The best the fandom can do in terms of consistent art style, poses, challenges and replayability. Every route is unique. Characters are overhwhelmingly gorgeous. Some may not like the drama, but I think it's just enough.

Season 3:

I thought things were ranked too high but then remember Tai? Rafi? AJ? The waterfall date, the water balloon and tent challenges that meant something and caused drama?

Season 4:

Lost points for the NaJamUno character merge, but gained points for Youcef and Oliver. Great characters, poor challenges and drama points. Dylangate was dumb and so was making us sleep on the daybeds.

Season 5:

The less said the better. But the sprites were hot af.

Season 6:

The great character merge was atrocious. But the drama from Casa, the Marshall&Ozzy plotline, and HAMISH oh my god, he gets a bonus point for drama all on his own.

Season 7:

Personally very forgettable season. Some of the sprites were lovely. Evan was a highlight and he's gorgeous. But given how quickly everyone forgot about this season, it's loowww.

Season 8:

Gets a high ranking for fandom impact purely based on the immense amount of art and interest that's come about this season. Even with up to a half-point deduction to account for recency bias, this season ranks highly.

This gives us an updated ranking of:

Third? THIRD? Season 8 is THIRD?!?!?

This gives us an average season rating of 6.4. We could remove the outliers, but we're trying to plot how good each season is against the average, so let's not. If we then plotted this and threw in a bar to show the average:

It says the only seasons that are 'above average' are Seasons 1, 2, and 8. Which, honestly, given my adoration for Bruno, Ciaran, and Lewie, rude. How dare I hurt myself with my own chart!!!!!

I'm sure one of the maths people could do something statistically significant and make this fully mathematically valid, but this is just me latching on to a silly ask and being an idiot about it.

I like S8 a lot. It's worth playing.

Rewriting Season Eight

My coffee from earlier has yet to wear off so I decided to line up all the season eight fics that I’ve written so far in some semblance of chronological order based on when they’re set. My love/hate relationship with this season’s jumping out! You can find all of these fics on my blog under their titles here but I won’t be linking them onto my blog because I change my URL somewhat frequently. Probably best to just use the AO3 links on this post to get to the fics the fastest!

Left Behind (302 words) — “Requiem” If he were here, he’d embrace her from behind and wrap his arm around her, hand splayed on her abdomen.

Presumed Dead (261) — General Early S8 She’s read Doggett’s report three times already, but she can’t remember anything from it in detail. She’s stuck on a particular phrase: presumed dead.

Seven Weeks (455 words) — General Early S8 I don’t even know why I’m writing this. I’d rather tell you in person, but it’s all eating me up alive and I need to get it out.

Nightmares (390 words) — “Deadalive” “How?” Scully asks tearfully. “It’s our baby, Mom. Every little thing will remind me of him.”

Two Miracles (315 words) — “Deadalive” Scully watches him process the words and sees the exact moment that Mulder lights up.

Anybody Miss Me? (864 words) — “Deadalive” And Scully knows he’s expecting her to chuckle through the tears but she can’t hold it in anymore—all the grief and fear and stress clawing their way out. “Yes,” she sobs, burying her face in his chest. Confront (1242 words) — “Vienen” “We need to talk,” she says over the phone, and normally he’d sigh and lie with a strained, I’m listening, but running off to take over Doggett’s investigation on an oil rig wasn’t nearly as thrilling or putting-his-life-back-together-ing as he’d expected.

Reacquaintance (1157 words) - General Late S8 “Mulder...” he heard Scully murmur, her ass against his cock as she wiggled back so she was pressed against him, shoulders to feet.

The Physics of Waddling, Colds, and Pizza (1493 words) — “Empedocles” Scully didn’t walk anymore, she waddled, and it was absolutely adorable.

Blossom (1628 words) — “Empedocles” They haven’t seen each other naked since the night before they left for Bellefleur. He’s seen glimpses here and there, when Scully will lift up her shirt to moisturize or when she accepted his help when she came home from the single autopsy she was tapped to do before her hospital stint.

Liminal Spaces (822 words) — General Late S8 They’re in that liminal space between actually having the baby and the baby still developing.

Decipher (680 words) — General Late S8 “I was settling in nicely, but it all feels a bit fake—a bit surreal.”

Domesticated (284 words) — General Late S8 She giggles (oh, her giggle) and resumes her lint rolling.

The Nuances of Breakfast and Shopping (818 words) — General Late S8 Scully gasps and appears around the corner of the aisle at the same time as Mulder does from the other side. “Look!” She holds up a little onesie depicting an alien spaceship abducting a cow. “It’s so cute!” She lets her arms fall, revealing her dazzling smile.

Home (385 words) — General Late S8 They’re unpacking Mulder’s boxes of knickknacks when the phone rings, disrupting their banter.

To Build a Crib (232 words) — General Late S8 Scully sighs. “Not this again.”

Baby Shower (804 words) — “Essence” At some point, Scully ended up between Mulder’s legs, opening her gifts with his arms wrapped around her abdomen.

“Help Them” (1691 words) — “Existence” “Scully,” he says, arms half wrapped around her and their baby, who’s pink and wailing—healthy in the lungs and very human, he sees. He smiles for a brief moment but it flies off his face when she doesn’t respond.

What order to watch Lego Ninjago media in?

—CRONOLOGICALLY

Khm.. Sorry, the little gremlin living inside my head and eating up my brain said that...

I will give you my toughts and to summarise them:

Imo this is totally up to what you enjoy and have the patience to endure. I watched from start to finish - almost, i will get to that - and just finished Dragon's Rising. But you don't have to do that of course. I will describe each "etap" of seasons, so you can choose and decide what is best for your viewing experience.

The older seasons AKA pre-movie:

This is from S1 to S7, before they got rebooted. These seasons lay down the basics, in lore and about the characters. You get info on elemental powers, FSM, the multive- i mean the different verses. They vary in quality, but i can say my fav ninjago episodes and seasons come from this era. But if you dont want to look at the crusty ass animation and just wanna get to the later seasons (for some reason, idk i can't look into your head), then watch:

S1 - Rise of the Snakes

S2 - Legacy of the Green Ninja

S3 - Rebooted

S5 - Possession

BONUS : S6 - Skybound

Although a lot of people shit on Hands of Time, personally i love it, but the story got cut in half and basicly never gets reference, you can cut that from the watchlist. (also guys. lets be real, the Chen season is way too overrated and was not half as good as yall make it out to be)

Or just watch a lore video and skip the juicy stuff

Post-movie , visual reboot, Lloyd begins puberty and finally gets a haircut:

From S8 to S13. Okay . the post-movie has a lot of misses. The simplified a lot of the characters, changed up stuff, overall very eh meh. I recomment you watch

S8 - Sons of Garmadon

S9 - Hunted

S11 - Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu (the first part is eh but it has some fun lore stuff later)

S12 - Prime Empire

S13 - Master of the Mountain

I will warn you that this is where they did the "10 minute episodes" for a while, and that wasn't a very nice viewing experience. Also the Oni season could have been really good, they just had some writing issues, so imo its overall skippable.

The "miniseries" or "why do you keep abandoning your cool storylines":

so we got to The Island and Skybound, the are interconnected and really good seasons, Nya focused and have cool sets and figures. Go watch them.

Then theres ...ugh...Crystalized.. the one season i half watched-half skipped. Why must they drag my girl Harumi's corpse up from the grave and cut in half a nicely written thing that could have given us a possible Morro comeback? Doc, why. so, Imo its skippable and doesent really get brought up later either. It does some fun stuff with Lloyd, but the way they took his dad's characterisation is icky. To me.

NEW GEN! Dragons, references, and being confusing about key lore again:

I am of course yapping about Dragon's Rising. We have two seasons so far, and the writng, the cast and the designs are peak. I would recommend watching it fully, very enjoyable.

OVERALL SUMMARY:

If you are picky about your content and want to limit what you wathc, the abobe is my recommendation. But really, you only get the good thing if you watch it from start to finish. (but really, just skip Crystalised-)

If you do wanna eat it whole, you should watch the first two seasons to get lore and characters down, then watch the movie - that actually has little to do with the plot, but it will only such you in further. Also a lot of people write early seasons ninjago with the movie crossovers. Then watch the rest of the seasons, and then the movie again, pre-S8. Then finish the og series and watch the movie again.

Oh yeah, there's shorts! I recommend that you either watch them as they follow the series, or do a recap of them every few seasons, OR! watch them after you finish the main series to get recapped on old stuff, then plunge into Dragon's Rising.

DR could be enjoyed without previous ninjago knowledge, bit in my opinion , its best consumed with prior and intimate knowledge of the characters!

To close this unstoppable wordshitting ive been up to: Ninjago has lots and lots of content and if you get bored watching something, feel free to skip the hell away. I know the fandom loves deep lore theories, but even we dont understand half the shit we yap about.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

For this fandom I don't think so, but other fandoms yes. I am a known and vocal destiel hater partly because I hate castiel but also because I think the spn fandom is so obnoxious about the ship (sorry destiel-shipping mutuals i don't mean you, but i have seen things...) Also I will come to hate ships from shows I've never even seen if the fandom is annoying/vocal enough. 911 fandom, i'm sorry, but i do not wanna see those firefighters ever again.

tbf that fandom seems to have calmed down lately, or maybe i just unfollowed or muted the people who post it excessively, but there was no escaping them for a while

15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

Season 4 of The Flash was actually really good. Most of you quit watching too early and didn't give that season a chance!! The huge ableism issues with Devoe aside, that arc was actually really compelling and ngl I find it frustrating that for YEARS we were like "PLEASE give us a non-speedster big bad!" and they finally did and everyone was like "no :) " and refused to watch it

Devoe was scary!! He was more than a match for Barry without being a speedster which I thought is what we all wanted! Plus season 4 is actually the funniest season. I hadn't seen it since it aired because the fandom had me convinced it was bad and then when me and my friend watched it we were CRYING during the first few episodes because the comedy beats were so impeccable.

Season 4 also had so many fantastic character beats for Barry, amazing conflict, CONSEQUENCES FOR HIS ACTIONS!! He literally got suspended from work because he was "harrassing" Devoe and broke into his house and it was SO interesting to see him face actual repercussions for letting Flash stuff bleed into his personal life! It gave us the prison arc! It gave us GOOD HAIR!

The actual downward spiral of the show began in season 5. Nora I love you but... that season had a lot of rough spots. Season 6 was also good! Now season 7 onwards deserves all the flack it gets but I maintain the show was still good way past the first 2-3 seasons that are held up as gospel and some of you are missing out on some actually really good television.

I think part of it is like... Coldflash besties, I love all of you, but The Flash was never Len's show. He was never a main character. And I think sometimes we get a bit caught up in acting like it was more Coldflash-centric than it was and like it was no longer worth watching as soon as Len wasn't in it. I get for some people (including me!) that the ship was a major part of enjoying the show but like. That was never the goal of the show. It was never trying to do that or tell that story, or even really focus on Len at all outside of a very minor big bad of the week role, and we do it a disservice by acting as if that ship was all the show had to offer, you know?

Some of my favourite episodes actually happened in the later seasons and I'd love to be able to share my love for those episodes and analyze them the same way we analyze the same 30 seconds of coldflash interactions but half of you wouldn't even know what I was talking about :( I could do it anyway and I still do, see my rant from the other day about Caitlin's s8 mad scientist necromancer arc, but it feels like shouting into the void sometimes... sigh

27. Least shippable character?

Hmm I'm tempted to say Caitlin. They put that woman in so many relationships and they were all soooo boring. Tbf I do quite like her and Ronnie (snowstorm?) but other than that... her and Jay? Boring. Her and Julian. Boring AND nonsensical considering he had such an issue with metahumans. Then there was that weird arc in season 8 where she goes on like 2 dates with a random dude and she's like "I want to tell him about Team Flash because I see a future with him and want him to be a part of my life" and then like one or two eps later she goes "nvm" and just dumps him. It was so funny. But all these relationships except with Ronnie were meh at best and by the final few seasons she was so detached from everyone anyway, they really didn't know what to do with her after Cisco left and instead of trying to have her bond more with the new characters they just shrugged and had her stand in the corner and do nothing

I have attempted to ship her with Iris in the past but it's hard work cos they gave us NOTHING. I wasn't sure if Danielle's acting was the issue and it was because she didn't have good chemistry with her love interests but I have no issue shipping Frost with people so? Idk what it is.

Kamilla is another one, which is ironic because her only purpose was to be Cisco's girlfriend but girl had no personality whatsoever, i'm sorry, she deserved better.

i actually think it’s funny because he wasn’t really thinking about shannon much in s7 until he happened to see kim (while he was out and about with christopher and marisol mind you). then at that point it was like a siren song to him because here is a living breathing carbon copy of the only woman he’s ever really been able to love (and he’s so lost right now with marisol that he can’t even bring himself to remember how rough things were with shannon right before she died, that one of the last things she did was ask him for a divorce) and well he’s delusional and self-destructive so yeah sure maybe going after kim will help him find what he needs

does not escape my notice EITHER that this is all happening right after his best friend partner soulmate came out as bi and started dating a MAN (who is NOT you, even though you are NOT GAY!!)… just a very interesting time to blow up his life!!!

ultimately tim did his little vertigo plot and i ate it up. even rewatched vertigo once i caught up with the show. eddie is still trapped by his grief and also remains delusional about love and relationships because he’s never had anything truly real. he and shannon loved each other but married out of obligation and were not happy. i think it could have used more time devoted to it but it was psycho and campy and i see the vision so i’m willing to see where it takes eddie in s8 (if it’s not him coming out and realizing he’s in love with buck. well i’ll just say it would be a massive fumble)

He knew," Mario said, nodding. "I think he knew." "He didn't know," Bowser said, shaking his head. He starts breathing slowly.

"Bowser," Mario says his name, firm. "Bowser, hold on. Okay, I need you … I need you to hold on. You'll be okay." "You don't need me," Bowser insists. "You take care of our girls." The King looks over at Peach and Daisy, who are trying to warm up by the fire. A tear falls from Mario's eye as he looks over at the princesses with Bowser. Then, he shakes his head and looks down at Bowser.

"No. Shut up. Shut up. Do you hear me? Shut up." "Luigi's waiting for me," Bowser tells Mario. "I'll be okay." "No!" Mario bursts. "Bowser Sr., no! Hey! No. No. Jr's waiting for you, and the koopalings are waiting for you." Mario's voice starts shaking. "And I am waiting for you. We're gonna go home together, okay?" "Okay.." Bowser says, weakly. Mario grabs his jacket and looks over at Toad. "Hey, watch him for me, alright?" Toad nods with tears in his eyes. "Hey, little guy, I know," Mario squeezes Toad's uninjured shoulder. "We're going to get through this, okay? I need you to hang on a little while longer." Toad reluctantly nods. "That's my best friend," Mario smiles. Toad lets out a mix of a sob and a laugh. The two give each other a fist bump.

Mario goes over to the fire and curls up with his jacket and blanket next to Daisy and Peach. Peach is asleep. "Hey, how are Toad and Bowser?" Daisy asks Mario. "They're good." "Good," Daisy nods. "I'm hungry." "Think of something else," Mario sighs. "I'm hungry." Mario rolls his eyes and pulls a piece of gum out of his pocket. "Lu gave me this piece of gum when the plane took off." Daisy smiles. "He was good for giving out gum." Mario smiles back with tears in his eyes. "I'm gonna miss him." "Yeah," Daisy puts her head on Mario's shoulder. "Me too." Mario sighs and leans on Daisy.

Then, the fire goes out. "Oh, shoot, great," Daisy pokes in the fire to try to get it going again, but it doesn't help. Mario starts falling asleep. "We have one match left," Daisy tells Mario, who's asleep. "Hey," Daisy shakes Mario awake. "No sleeping." She wakes Peach up as well. "Yeah, you have to stay awake." Mario sighs. "Okay." "Peach, you too, friend. I want everyone conscious! Mar, light the match. Careful, it's our last one." As Mario lights the match, the wind immediately blows it out. "You know what, fuck it," Mario opens the piece of gum and breaks it in half. He shares it with Daisy.

unfortunately, it wasn't really a good one, because Zane wasn't there — we all know why :( — and the team was pretty much a split up mess. It was fortunate the other three at least made an effort to show up, but it really felt like there was something missing.

Kai bought his honorary niece some baby hair clips — cuz hair is priority — and Lloyd sucks with his own hair, so he's trying to help the kid out.

Nya, on the other hand, was like "I'm gonna turn this kid into a future builder" so she got her some blocks.

Cole and Jay each got her an onesie...the same one. (sigh) They ended up bickering about it during the entire party.

Sensei G and Misako gave her a stuffed dragon that... looks familiar to Lloyd in a way. Wu just nods at Lloyd knowingly.

Meanwhile Lloyd wanted to make her first birthday as special as possible even though he knew she wouldn't remember it so he made her a mini version of his gi. Sadly, it didn't take long for her to grow out of it and that gave Lloyd some grief....well, lots of grief.

Zane was there (Yay!), and baked the cake. He (and Pixal) also got her some of those sortable shape toys to exercise brainpower. Nya just says it's because no one wants hellspawn to get Lloyd's iq and... Pixal agrees.

Lloyd bought her some finger paints...which she loved so much that she used them on his hair and face. Her excuse was that Unca' Zane had taught her that paper was bad for trees so naturally, she decided to go for another green source.

Jay got her another version of Mister Cuddlywomp, while Cole showed up with a toy piano — his dad's idea, actually. "Introducing kids to music at a young age is a great way to encourage brain development"...(and turn them into musicians, goes unsaid)

Once again, Kai was like "my niece better be stylish and not have little gremlin Lloyd's horrible taste" and got her a leather jacket — toddler size, of course. This guy even brought some sunglasses and a hat. Nya thinks it looks ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Nya came with some bath toys — which she designed herself to be durable enough against the strong waves of the sea. (She's still not over her new Master of Water status)

Misako got her a book full of children's stories — maybe a collection of legends would be more accurate. She's the historian of the family for a reason.

Dareth gave her a mini plushie of himself and she kept pointing out how much the plushie's eyebrows don't even look anything like his real ones.

Hellspawn wanted to learn airjitzu but that was quickly out of the question — she's too young. And for FSM's sake, she hasn't even learned spinjitzu yet. So that was instantly a no.

So, Misako was like: just do what your father did with you. He didn't listen to me, but you turned out just fine — I still do not understand how you even turned out just fine!

Which was why Lloyd decided to put her on his shoulders and spin around until they were both surrounded by green. Mission accomplished.

But it is only that he realizes that he'd forgotten the fact she'd just eaten some of the cake earlier and has the stomach of a nauseous toddler. Too bad it's too late to do anything. Lloyd ended up needing a shower shortly after that. Jay got a picture :(

4th birthday

The apartment Lloyd was stuck living in during the year they were looking for Wu.

Dareth decided that she was already old enough to learn a 'sacred' karate move he personally invented. After learning it, she ran to use it on Lloyd.

Misako couldn't show up because she was too far away, but the others managed to come. Except Nya, but she still joined via face time and sent a parcel.

Lloyd made a cake himself instead of relying on Zane and it actually turned out to be edible. Kai was wondering if they'd entered the apartment of an imposter.

But actually, Skylor helped. So yes, the real Green Ninja has not been kidnapped by aliens. Lloyd can be trusted living on his own. A new invasion isn't coming, So Kai, stop setting chopsticks on fire, Nya can't save your ass—

5th birthday

That morning, Wu finds a strange package left outside, with a note that just says Happy Birthday in messy, familiar handwriting. He knows very well who it's from and opens the package to find a plushie of a plant...an unusual choice from someone like him.

Wu then just lies that it's a gift from a fan and the ninja believe him. So Lloyd lets hellspawn have it.

He ends up despising the gift during Crystalized. 😭

6th birthday

celebrated in kindergarten. Which Jay jokes was merely done because Lloyd doesn't want their presence.

But actually, Lloyd does. Because he's getting too many stares and questions from the other kids and he's only doing this because hellspawn wanted to after she saw her classmate do something like this. They celebrated again at the monastery hours later.

And Lloyd gets to meet the boy hellspawn made immediate friends with and finally has confirmation that he's being overprotective over nothing.

In 1864,his desire for vampirism was motivated by his desire for Katherine.Once Katherine was gone,he was against completing his transition.In the modern timeline,his desire for the cure centered around Elena Gilbert.In s4*,he refused to take it because Elena didn't but in s6, his desire for a human life came back because Elena wanted to be human.

   As for his existential crisis,I think it popped up because Rose expressed her desire to be human in the dream(2×12), that Damon gave her, when she was dying.Once that chapter closed,his existential crisis conveniently poofed into thin air!

*In s4 finale,if I'm not wrong,Damon was dying from werewolf bite which was why Elena asked him to take the cure.Correct me if I'm wrong because I don't remember much of s4 and its convoluted mythology,but how exactly was a cure for vampirism going to protect someone from werewolf toxin?It could turn a person human.But the venom would still be in their system,right?If the venom is fatal for a vampire,should it not be even more fatal for a human?Who knows what poisonous toxin their bite contained that could instantly off a vulnerable human![Although this was Elena-logic,the girl who went from attending occult studies and having no basic fire safety skills to becoming Dr.Elena Salvatore! Hope she keeps Caroline's blood stocked in her clinic! *side eyes* ]

Or is it one of those UNO reverses the writers loved pulling instead of making an actual effort in creating a compelling narrative?You know like the one they did with Stefan in s8! Give him the cure so he is not a ripper anymore! Problem solved forever not because the conflict is resolved but because the conflict is magic-ed away by default! Who cares if Stefan never overcame his ripper issues!

I think Rose’s death sent Damon into a tailspin, but his existential crisis makes sense because Damon only wanted to be a vampire if it meant being with Katherine forever. He had no interest in vampirism beyond that. Furthermore, it was established in flashbacks that Damon hated being a vampire for the first couple of decades. Damon existential crisis (Damon missed being human more than anything) was consistent with that characterization.  I’ve pointed this out before, but starting in season 4 the writers used Damon as a plot device, resulting in an inconsistent characterization. The writers retconned Damon’s characterization (his desires, motivations, and backstory) to suit the plot rather than writing a plot that suited his established characterization. (You aptly described this as the writers pulling UNO reverses.) Using Damon as a plot device in the later seasons caused his character to swing from one extreme to another. It drove me nuts because Damon’s character was all over the place in the later seasons. There was no logical character arc for him.

I don’t remember why Elena wanted Damon to take the cure at the end of season 4, but either way, Damon’s attitude change was never explained. Damon went from “I miss being human” to “I don’t want to be human” with no onscreen explanation.
