The Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing of A Truth Universally Acknowledged: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” ends at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time on December 5th 2024!

That means, as I’m posting this, you only have 27 hours left, and the minutes are ticking by. We’re funded, but we’d love your help to hit a stretch goal and to knock our initial goal out of the park. It’s not your last chance to get this book – we’ll publish it for all after we finish campaign fulfillment, and late pledges are enabled for just the print book and e-book – but you’ll get it well ahead of anyone else, and it may be the only chance to get our awesome merchandise, depending how many extras we end up post-fulfillment!

With this third installment in our Queer Fanworks Inspired By… anthology series, we set out to explore the truth by which we at Duck Prints Press live: that a classic work without a single canonically queer character must be in want of a very LGBTQIA+ makeover! A Truth Universally Acknowledged: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, with 21 short stories and 20 full-page color artworks, is just that. 38 creators have contributed to this project, drawing inspiration from Pride and Prejudice’s characters and story to create delightful, thoughtful, intriguing, and (of course) very queer fanworks and Pride and Prejudice-inspired original works. For this collection, we encouraged our creators to focus on Sapphic/wlw relationships and/or transgender and genderqueer interpretations for their inspiration, though those are definitely not the only types of queer we’ve fit into this diverse collection.

A real conversation happened in my head between two very smart people (Me and Also Me) [but don't tell the third one, she's cucu]

Me: Uh, it's half past four and I haven't had lunch yet.

Also Me: *whispering* naaachoos

Me: Maybe some veggie on white rice?

do you guys think duck dont hug me im scared is an asshole because its the only way he feels alive? his life isnt his own, so the only way to feel some sort of power over himself is to have power over others. if he makes others hurt, if he makes them cry, if he bites them and makes them bleed, that must mean hes real, right? surely hes a person if hes caused a wound. surely people will remember him if he gives them a scar. even if he doesn’t understand that hes a puppet, he still wants to be someone in the world. how are you someone if you dont effect those around you? if nobody is listening to you, do you really even matter? sometimes you need to bite to prove that youre real, to prove that youre alive, to prove you cant be tossed around anymore. sometimes youre too cowardly to pinch yourself, so you pinch someone else. When theres blood in your nails youll know youre not dreaming
