This was originally about Angel and Sam, but I can see basically any of the pack members calling up Sam to hangout in the middle of the night.

David or Sweetheart having to pull an all-nighter and call Sam to keep them company to not bother anyone else's slumber

David's out on a night job and Angel cant sleep for whatever reason so they just go hangout with Sam. Since they're bored out of their mind and everyone else is asleep, it just makes sense in their head to go bother Sam and try (and fail) to make him buy them takeout or something.

Literally anyone who was at the Inversion who's been having bad dreams but doesn't want to bother their partner just calls Sam instead. Sometimes its about why they cant sleep, sometimes its just to mess with him, sometimes its to ask if he wants to go for a drive, other times its just to check up on him and Tank.
