october 11, 2021 quite a long post ahead woops~!
ā uhmm hi :) it's been almost a year since my last post here and on my studygram too. the past months had been so hard for me, i felt like universe was actually playing games with me lol.
major update: today officially marks the start of my final year in uni š„¶
i don't know what to feel about it actually. where did the past years go? it seems like yesterday i was just a freshman who's so excited about her whole college experience and everything else that she could exploreā in life and within herself. feels like im stuck in sophomore year, before pandemic happened and before everything shifted to online lectures and meetings. i remember i was out with friends having a drink after taking an exam on our major and then the next day, there's news and announcements about the spread of the virus. it all happened so fast and i feel like i was still in that moment and haven't moved forward. i spent my whole junior year online and will spend my senior year online too :( i wish i could go back to campus and attend face-to-face lectures, study in the library, discover new study spots/cafes, hangout with friends after a long day. i want to experience it all over again. but my country is ... whack~ this is a reminder to vote wisely and choose your leaders carefully!
anyway, i don't know what urged me to post and be back here and on my instagram. maybe this is me motivating myself to study harder and smarter. and to be productive i guess.
āļø i read some of your messages and i am honestly very overwhelmed that there are still people finding out about this page and liking the stuff i post :< i can't promise that i'll be back on regular programming but here's a lil something for you ;) i appreciate all of you! i reply faster on my insta tho so come by if u want a chat hehe byebye~!

ā iām struggling a lot with disciplining myself for all these self-studying. itās hard to stay motivated while i am in the comfort of my room or home. i wish i could go out and study in a library or a coffee shop, but i donāt want to risk it knowing that we are still in a global pandemic. so i need to take a lot of force to discipline myself and be on track.

flashcards really help me to memorize easier and faster, especially when it comes to vocabulary words. i prefer writing and making my own flashcards rather than using digital ones. it helps more in retention of words. i canāt count how many of these tiny flashcards i already have and made.Ā
if you want to see me writing these flashcards, i have made a reel on my instagram account. you can just click here to be directed on my post.

ā i have three more days before classes officially start. but since i donāt have schedules on mondays, i guess itās four more days for me. honestly i still donāt know what to feel about finally having to experience zoom university or online classes in general. our uni hasnāt release any concrete guidelines and it feels like theyāre letting the professors and the students to just decide on how things will flow. for someone studying in a state university (philippines) that is not funded enough by the government and is not really prepared for this new normal, i can just really hope and wish for the best for this semester. wish me luck?

happy october first!Ā i can't believe it's october already. we're just two months away before this year ends. and it feels like 2020 didn't even happen lol.
this month is all about self-care still. with quarantine and not seeing friends and other people that much, i saw who truly cares and don't. i lost some people but that's okay. it made me value more those who genuinely stays. here's to the kind of love that i deserve, that everyone deserves! āØ

as a junior, i guess i have already acquired some tips and tricks that i could share for those of you who are about to go to college or uni, or if you're a struggling college student.
first, let me just say that i am still struggling hahaha. but i managed to minimize the stress i am experiencing and become more proactive. there are still more to learn so feel free to share your own advices as well.
it's a learning experience. make mistakes, have fun. it's okay if you still haven't figure out your life or your plans. it's okay if you're still undecided with your program. take this time to explore as you're now more free than ever. personally, i was afraid to make mistakes and look dumb. i wanted others to see me as someone who's got it all together. but as each day passes, i stumble upon new things and find my way around life.
reach out to people. make an effort to connect with people and to make friends. you will find people you will vibe with and stick with you until the end. you may also find people that you donāt vibe with, and thatās okay. being in uni really exposed me to a lot of people with different personalities and perspectives in life. itās so different from high school where you basically know each other and you see each other all the time. this also applies to being close to some of your professors because they could help a lot for your career.
go to class. itās so easy to skip or cut classes in college since there are also sometimes a maximum number of cuts per class. but i tell you, go to class. you can borrow notes from friends or rely to lectures uploaded by your professor, but itās still different when you are present in class and hearing first-hand the things that your professor are saying. this ensures that you donāt miss out anything. and attendance really does help get your grades up.
sleep. i know there are a lot of students complaining or saying that you will have no or lesser time of sleep in college. that might be true only if you donāt balance your time properly. learn how to manage the time you have and spread your tasks wisely. do not procrastinate. knowing how heavy the workload is in college, sleep is really important to get all the energy you that you can to accomplish everything.
calm down. if you are an incoming freshman, a sophomore, a junior, or a graduating student, calm down. things may be overwhelming for you but panicking or overthinking things wonāt do any good. take things one step at a time. as i said before, this is still a learning process.
thatās it. i have actually more things in mind but that may only apply to me. these are things that i think everyone can relate to or can use. again, there are a lot more to learn. i am not saying that i have mastered being a college a studentā i really hope that was the case hahaha. - ace āļø

it's definitely hard to manage and balance our time. we all want to have a good amount of sleep, to have enough time for ourselves and the people around us, and to still have the ability to be productive and get as much stuff done.
and when we talk about time management, the first thing that definitely pops in our head is to have a good planning system. it doesn't matter if it's the traditional pen and paper planner or the digital ones. what's important is that we get to schedule our time and make use of the twenty-four hours we have in a day.Ā
today, planners are not the only tools we use anymore. using timers have been really popular these days. it helps you track how much time you spend on a single task which could help in planning your day more effectively. personally, i use an app called Flipd and it really boost my productivity. i use it not only for studying, but for everything else like meditating and tracking my screen time. it's just recently that i bought a physical timer.Ā
we all have different ways of managing our time and doing our tasks. some maybe more productive at day time and others would prefer working at night. there are also days where we wouldn't feel as motivated as other people, and it's fine. a little progress is still a progress. don't pressure yourself to study or work just for the sake of ticking off the check box on your list. keep in mind that this is not a race or a competition. get things done on your own pace. you'll eventually get there.

recently, i did another social media detox, and it's one of the best things that I could give to myself.
here are a lot of unfortunate events happening around the world. besides that, i have some personal issues i have to deal with. the past few months, or the duration of lockdown, are not the best times for me.Ā
i have to continuously remind myself that it's okay to rest for a while and give time for things to sink in with me. but as i use social media and see people being productive and using the time to explore new skills, i felt the pressure to keep up with the new normal we are facing.Ā
honestly, i can't remember how many times i stayed away from social media during this time. maybe thrice or even more. i figured that doing so highly helped in improving my mood and clearing my mind.Ā
disconnecting with the world lessens the anxiety i am feeling and stopped me from comparing the life i am living to others. it allowed me to reconnect with the presentā to see what is really happening in front of me.
social media has always been both good and bad. we should not let ourselves be lost in it; instead, be in control of how it would affect our lives.

welcome back to me āØ
for the past few days that i was on a social media detox, i think i was at my most productive. like genuinely productive. maybe because i wasn't on my phone most of the time and i wasn't checking my timeline every now and then.
also i've been drinking milk a lot instead of coffee because it helps me calm down š
how are you guys doing? don't forget to take a break and focus on yourself š«

it's hard to build the perfect study routine. no matter how many times i try to alter my schedule and balance my time, sometimes it just wouldn't work out.Ā
and that's fine. nothing's really perfect in this world, right?Ā
with my hopes of being productive and following the schedule i made for myself, it's frustrating when something unexpected would come in the way. and even if i try to space out my time and give extra rooms for these unexpected events, it still wouldn't work for most days.Ā
so how do i cope with this?Ā
simple. i don't.Ā
it's funny when you hear or see it, but that's the truth. i stopped making routines for myself because it frustrates me. life already feels like a routine for me and making more routines just doesn't help at all. maybe it works for some, but not for me.Ā
so how do i work? how do i go through a day?Ā
just like the saying, go with the flow.Ā
i don't structure my days but i try to imagine how it would be. somehow, it feels like i am still making a routine but it's just that i don't exactly follow through it. yes, i know what i have to do for the day or the week, but i don't put specific times for when i have to do things. i did mention before that time-blocking changed the game, it did. it's nice to see how i can balance my time for personal and work purposes, but honestly, often times i don't really follow what i made. however, i still make sure to have that balance in life.
it's confusing when you read all these, but what i really just want to point out is that, there is no such thing as a perfect study routine, or whatever routine it may be. there are a lot of unexpected events that might come along the way. and it's fine and perfectly normal to not be able to follow the routine you have for yourself.Ā
anyway, i am open for a conversation and questions about this thing. i don't know if what i said make sense but i hope it did. feel free to leave a message ;)Ā

happy september 1st to everyone!
i canāt believe weāre welcoming ~ber months like this. if youāre filipino like me, youād understand what i mean. itās unfortunate that we are still stuck in this situation and nothing is improving for us. we can all just wish for a more competent government and more concrete plans.
anyways, i hope this new month will be more productive for everyone and would bring more good vibes.Ā

we have different sources of motivation. what keeps me motivated may be different from yours but one thing that we all have in common is that, we all have plans- to be motivated and to stay motivated.Ā
it's easy to be motivated. there are so much factors around us that could make us feel excited to do sometihing. before, i always tell myself that i would accomplish this and that before a said time or date. i would write it down in my planner and just do it. that's it. i am motivated just by seeing the amount of tasks i will have to accomplish. it sounds weird but that's it for me.Ā
however, it's very difficult to stay motivated. eventually, i would feel tired and unfocused on my goals. i would tell myself that it's fine to take a day off for today. the next day, i would say the same thing, and it repeats for days. then i realized that i may be doing something wrong on my process of accomplishing tasks.Ā
time blocking is a game changer. i am able to schedule my whole week, sometimes a whole month, with a balanced time for study or work, and leisure. this is basically what helps me to stay motivated and going. because i know that i would have time for entertainment after doing certain amount of workloads. there is much lesser chances of me experiencing breakdowns and burnouts. as for rewarding myself, it could be watching a netflix or youtube video, making coffee, sleeping, or go online shopping oops š¤
