The more I look at widogast and zarra the more absurd this concept is

Lawful neutral warforged, who's 950 years old. He was sent off by the BBEG (a man who presents as a jsut ruler of his kingdom) to help the Golden Kingdom against the goblin hordes. He was part of just thr 2 platoons sent out. Thry all fucking died. His soul? Snatched. Put into a robot. Full memories. Runes in an obelick like substance to have the face. Expected to keep serving. He ran away, everyone in his platoon killed for fear of more runaways. He had a family while serving. Theyre long dead. Its now cyberpunk anesthetics. Hes been avoidant of people but still integrated into societies od the different kingdoms. Steals from other warforged parts he finds or from those he kills to keep his parts maintained. His knees are garbage. This fukcing 15 year old changeling accidentally clocks him while trying to randomly knock him out. Manages to not shoot her, she tells him her secrets. . Now they travel together. She's 20 and he'd die for her. There are no secrets to be had, but he spares her of all the details. Hes in charge of the financials so she doesn't spend it all on coffee. He has a -2 in charisma.

Chaotic Neutral changeling made a pact with the sleep god to minimize need for sleep. Sleeps once a week for 12 hours, unwakable. Coffee isn't addictive but caffeine still affects her, she has to make people sleep in exchange for this. Shes a wild magic sorcerer because of genetic connection to this God as well. Trained most of her childhood into perfecting these magica with her grandpa. Goes to a coffee shop a few months after the pact is made and sees the most pathetically tired middle aged man in her life. Casts sleep. It fails. She accuses him and he panics and she rapid fire shoots some secrets at him to put her at an equal risk or some shit. She manages to convince him to let her travel with him to explore. She's the one in control of the situation. She's the social one, the talking one, the thinking one (even if she's at 16 int and he's at 18 int). She rides the side car of his motorcycle. She has a camel pack full of coffee at all times. She has a passive perception of 17

Hes lawful neutral in terms of his own creed. The creed is to protect his people, his platoon, his men. He won't go out of his way to give a fuck about anyone else. He doesn't believe in getting involved in peoples lives,, but he will if she does. He is the most passively suicidal person you'll ever meet, but then this fucking changeling wormed into his life and now he cant.

Shes chaotic neutral in thr way she protects her own, but does whatever it takes to get there. Getting her fix is huge too. She's fine with murder, robbery, high stakes, low stakes. She is incredible charismatic, able to get her way. She respects his opinion, but knows he'll fall to hers at a moments notice. Subconsciously, she's abusing this fact, but she'd kill for him as he'd die for her.

#they are not romantic in any way. they're just ride or die to a fucking extreme.#but the dm has threats of an AM inspired super comluter and robot armies and plague causing zombies that might spread to robots #AND AN ARTIFICER LICH-LIKE #theyre not toxic. i think. both can survive fine without the other. mentally and physically #they just fill each others weak spots fantastically #shes emotion while he's action

So I'm replaying Ray's After ending rn, and it got me thinking that what I adore so much about Rika as an antagonist is just how damn scary she can be. I always found those who cause harm with good intentions (at least in their point of view) much scarier than those who hurt you with pure intention on hurting you. I think the best example of it is this CG in particular:

Look at that. Such a loving, gentle expression on her face. Probably kissing his forehead. Because she loves him. Heck, without any context, this CG looks even sweet, if you think about it. And yet, all that is while Saeyoung is forcefully sedated on a powerful concoction of drugs even a trained agent like him can't do anything about (and Saeyoung WAS definitely trained to deal with this sort of thing, hence it's mentioned that this is a 'special' kind of drugs). He looks miserable. Bags under his eyes, his expression pained and troubled, even his hair is paler than usual. All that as a direct result of her actions. But she's utterly blind to it. What's scarier, is that she knowingly shuts off her understanding of what's really happening. She's not oblivious to it at all. She just chooses not to see it that way. Simply because she doesn't want to.

Rika is the type of antagonist that will cup your cheek into her warm hand with the most loving of smiles on her face, all while you are getting elixir poured down your throat. Even whispering to you that you're doing great, that the pain will soon pass, and that she can't wait to see you reach the happiness she knows you deserve. I won't be surprised if she even cried genuine tears of compassion during some ceremonies for her believers. All while being the sole reason behind their suffering.

And that's... God, that's terrifying to me. I love that about her.

thinking again about how in trigun 98 they had nick kill someone with the face of a child posing as an orphan for vash, and how in tristamp they had him kill a child in the body of a monster who had no choice in what had been done to him, and how instead in trimax nick for vash kills a man who'd approached vash for a death match, who'd demanded to either kill or be killed, a man nick had given vash a fair chance to fight and win against and who nick would have left alone hadn't said man attacked vash when his back was turned after the duel was over and done with, a man who'd been one step from possibly seriously harming vash hadn't nick stepped in. and about how after in all three versions vash yells at nick for it, but only in trimax nick tells vash that he's lucky he's there to play the devil for him so that he can stay a saint, and only in trimax in the arc right after vash ends up thanking nick for killing for him and protecting his home when vash couldn't because of his own morals, and only in trimax in the end when nick isn't there to play the bad guy for vash he ends up being right, and vash ends up having to dirty his hands himself to protect what he loves - while both in 98 and for now tristamp vash stays a saint until the end, and that fight they have ends in itself, and the only lesson it leaves you as a viewer is that nick is jaded enough to kill a child

#this is in the same category in my brain as 98 and tristamp making vash the nice kid between he and knives #while in trimax knives was the nice hopeful naive kid and vash was the guarded and skeptical one #and also the same as vash in 98 never losing control of himself and in tristamp only losing control #when knives literally brainwashes him into becoming a husk of himself #while in trimax vash loses control of his own negative emotions all on and by himself and That's #what puts meryl and nick and milly in danger #not someone else's actions but /vash's/#and to me that's like #yeah maybe 98 came out before trimax was over so the authors didn't have a full grasp on vash as a character #and maybe it's true that the tristamp writers love the story their own way honestly and genuinely #but the way both anime make vash so objectively Good™️ and everyone else just too jaded #to see how he's right and being Good™️ is the only way to move forward #like...#I'm sorry #that's the opposite of what i thought nightow was saying when i first read trimax #the world isn't black and white and some choices are unavoidable but that doesn't make them any less bad #and people aren't perfect but that doesn't make them any less able to be good #and all that #yk #?#the way the anime always make meryl so unwaveringly strong and corageous too when in trimax #she's actually so scared #reasonably!!#same with nick too all his fear of knives and conflicting feelings about vash all gone always...#then again when you make vash to perfect what's there to be scared or conflicted about?#it's something I always come back to ESPECIALLY the nick killing for vash moment #the manga makes it so hard to decide who's right #and in the end it takes you by the shoulders and shakes you and tells you nick!!! nick was right!!!!#while in the anime nicks kills /a child/ so of course you're brought to assume vash was right #i dunno it's just so flat to me

#i forgot he had a devil fruit #i feel like they will either cut him entirely or make him have a short cameo #they probably would want to save the cgi budget for chopper and wapol (no idea how they can do wapol in live action tbh)#now that we are past what opla covered i keep thinking of what will be cut / what will stay #and dalton while being a good character. especially for vivi and her arc about leadership. is not that necessary #we already have chopper as the emotional core of the arc and kureha is a lot more integral to the story and for lore reveals #so she will def be in the show and likely have an even bigger role #leaving little room for dalton #well im just especulating here #maria watches one piece #<- for organization purposes

It's kinda funny because w/ my Zeus kid OC (who I've been thinking about renaming as Araceli, 'cause it means altar of the sky, apparently, which I like 'cause sky-themed-ish but also like. A little bit I wanted something that meant cloud the way Coral's name means... Coral) the implication is that she takes after her father to an almost mirroring degree because I developed her and my other PJO OCs (who also all got retconned into an OG work) at the same time I was playing around with my ideas on the Big Six, and the gist at the time was supposed to show how the Big Six could've turned out if they weren't so weird.

So the dynamics of the friendship was supposed to be very similar to the dynamics of Big Six's relationship to each other (e.g. Mary having a major crush on Hera's "representative" but also being attracted to literally every other person that walked by, Nico being the soberminded big brother figure, etc). It's also one of the reasons Mary would get angry whenever someone would compare to her dad, because similarly I think Zeus would get angry if someone compared him to his dad.

And then eventually as I got older and the daydream moved around with whatever obsession I had at the time, the characters and general storyline began to change away from that in some ways but core features sort of stayed and so I ended up with a version of Zeus that ignores his daughter's pleas for help because he loves her but her pain hurts him because he can't do anything about it and it's his fault she's suffering.

She got this intensity from him, it's ingrained into the way it's ingrained in him. But he was able to rebuild the world according to his own needs and wants and beliefs. And she can't really do that. So he doesn't have any advice he can give her when she's on her knees begging for help with all the noise and pain in her head. He doesn't know what to do! It's like he can just go and rip it out of her.

But she's suffering because she's different and she's weird and she knows it and she knows it's his fault which is why she's asking but he just doesn't know and he can't handle watching her suffering and listening to her cry when there is no helpful answer to give her because "I don't know" isn't going to fix it.

He's supposed to fix things, he's supposed to have the answers. He's king of the world, by damn! He's a problem solver. He supposed to have a solution, and a million backup solutions. But he doesn't! There's nothing he can do to make the noise stop because truth be told, the noise never really stopped for him! It just got easier and quieter. So he turns away from her because he loves her and he's failing her and he can't handle that.

But also in the same breath, I think he recognizes similar aspects of himself in Jason, who isn't even asking for help, and fucking despises him for it, lol.

#could be a jupiter vs zeus thing too #zeus is more in touch with his emotions so he's able to love his kids and empathize with their pain #but jupiter eschews emotion to focus fully on logic and rationale and winds up being disgusted by anything that shows he's flawed #like i think zeus definitely hates any implication that he's flawed #but in this case it's more like while his inability to stop his daughter's suffering makes him feel flawed #his love for his daughter takes precedence so he doesn't hate her for it. he just hates himself for not being able to fix it.#but jupiter doesn't really have that affection for jason because maybe he just lacks affection im general #so jason showcasing any behaviour that may indicate an inherent flaw in jupiter is seen as despicable #and so jason and any internal/external pain he may experience because of this flaw isn't viewed favourably #it could also be that jason is more willing to call him on his shit where mary/araceli was just like bitch i hate you so much please kill m #like she definitely doesn't agree with all her dad's actions but she kind of gets where he's coming from with certain things #where i don't think jason is able to view that in other people either #like all three of them view things in a very black and white autistic sort of way #but jason lacks the cognitive empathy to understand why a person may feel or behave a certain way #i love when i go insane in the tags #thats fun #anyway #happy talks about his stories #happy talks pjo #zeus (pjo)#jason grace #i will come up with a tag for my zeus girl at some point #also for araceli the original character has always been seen as hispanic/latino which is why i wanted a name that made that obvious #so if anyone has any hispanic/latino sky-themed names they'd like to share lemme know because the baby name websites were very short

#i love it when characters are hypocritical #but this weird push for characters to always have perfectly trackable and one note ambitions and thoughts is sooooo boring #this specifically about some ramm enjoyers that correctly see him as a freedom fighter but still do not take time to analyze his actions #ideals etc #hes suh a good character #along with mercy and her conflict with moira #and how while mercy is the “good guy” she still very much has an almost privilege ground to stand on compared to moira #and holds grudges/ makes her emotions build up #overwatch

remember when delirium was worried about destruction being gone and it was rooted in her loneliness and genuine love for her siblings and the other endless wanted to ignore her sudden upset over this because she's delirium and she gets this way sometimes, don't worry about it, she'll forget soon enough so it really doesn't matter at all. He also dislikes getting fur in his clothing.#Adra has a similar influence from these powers but doesn't have any shifting. More like little characteristics #Vincent usually covers Amon's lack of speed and evasiveness while Amon covers Vincent's lack of defense and (comparative) strength.#They bounce off of each other's vibes way too well sometimes but can get the job done in a chaotic but efficient way. #a.k.a the og version was bothering me so I completely redrew her eyes and added more shadows to make her facial features more pronounced #gonna just copy over my og tags bc I can’t be bothered to come up with new ones #my art #artists on tumblr #the legend of korra #original character #seeds of the red lotus #sotrl haya #god... like on one hand yes. she's an awful person. she abused her brother's kids for 16 years #left lasting mental and emotional scars on them to the point that even years after they last see her they're still recovering #even after all the bruises have healed her voice is still in their heads. fear of her still dictates so many of their actions #someone like her doesn't deserve any amount of sympathy. nor after everything she's done #but on the other... the person who did all that is haya in her 30s and 40s. here she's just 14 #she just had her whole world shattered in a matter of weeks. she's left with nothing and no one but an empty house and her 5yo brother #she has no one to turn to. no shoulder to cry on. apart from losing her parents she had to quit school and stop hanging out with her friend #sh ehad to abandon any hobbies she might have had. I imagine she was quite like suiren and midori used to be. curious and intelligent #and very keen on trying new things. she had to leave all that behind to work day and night while earning only barely enough to scrape by on #just enough for them to survive. to keep the house. to be clothed and fed. there was no room for treats or luxuries of any kind #how many dresses did she cut up to use as material for ghazan's clothes? how many nights did she go hungry just so he could eat?#and she can't even cry about it. not while he's around anyway because she's supposed to be strong for him.#I imagine she often cried after putting ghazan to bed. just out of sheer helplessness. from how exhausted she was #she cried herself to sleep every night and pulled herself back together every morning #tied her hair back with her mother's kerchief and went straight to work anywhere that would hire her. working until she could barely stand #all for him. I'm not excusing her actions in any way but I understand why she was overcome with resentment after he left her #running away without as much as a goodbye. after everything she had done for him. spitting in her face would have hurt less #so when he resurfaced over a decade later to dump his bastard children on her it didn't take long for all that resentment to find an outlet #and the rest is history... fuck. thinking about her teenage and ya self always makes me cry. she was so much like suiren it's heartbreaking #well. the only reason suiren is like this now is bc of her. but yk what they say. the history book on the shelf is always repeating itself #anyway. I'm really glad I took the time to redraw this. I'm so much happier with it now. she actually looks like a young girl now #this really hits different considering that I straight up killed her in my latest au... granted she was in her 40s there. but still
