Hey there! I'm bored, you're probably bored if you're seeing this, and I like to RP. This is going to be an anon RP account for me to reach out with the RP community on here. If you're interested in starting one with me, drop a reply under here and send a DM and we'll work it out.

💡Hello!

This mun is 25+ and seeking long term partners who are at least 18+. No minors. One of the fandoms I'm looking for is Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes (Preferably the Robert Downey Jr 2009 movie version) but the Granada version is a possibility along with the BBC one.

I am also looking for those who are interested in the Fantastic Beasts universe. I have a Newt Scamander muse and I'm pretty much now willing to write with any character from the FB universe. My shipping is selective, but it's not mandatory unless previously discussed. I can do fxm, mxf, mxm. I write in 3rd person and I can do 1-3 paragraphs minimum, + casual banter. Any storyline/thread discussion should be treated as a collab, and shouldn't feel one-sided. Ooc talk is limited unless we're close mutuals. My responses vary between each reply thread, so patience is appreciated. I do like a heads up if replies are taking a little longer than expected though, and vice versa. Please keep in mind I’m looking for something that lasts more than a couple of months as I’d like to be in it for the long haul. If you decide to drop out from a role PLEASE let me know in advance.

They are indeed quite tired of always bouncing homes and never having a place to just call home. Honestly getting a bit desperate. . . Maybe a little summoning ritual could preserve their place here? what is your personal take on frisk-centric angst? I love a good creechur silly goofy frisk, I hold them very dear, but then I think abt an unattended child who falls into a mountain and? Has nobody to go home to after escaping?? It would seem? And I think ohh... poor kiddo.....

yes yes yes YES YES. listen i understand people who want their faves coddled and cozed and who feel bad when they suffer, but i am of the olde schoole of torture your darlings so i eat that shit up!!!! though instead of frisk-centric i usually prefer to see their angst through the lenses of another character acting as an observer. sans or toriel or papyrus, or flowey and chara too.

i like to hc that frisk was homeless before climbing mt ebott. not orphaned, their parents are still out there, but either they were abandoned or they ran away from home. if chara's abuse was more actice/violent, then frisk's was passive, out of neglect rather than brute force.

honestly it's been a while since i did anything with the sans rp blog, but the way me and tali set the conflict up for that version of frisk was that because of their neglect, they had no mental concept (or well, experience) of what a parent is supposed to be. that concept is abstract to them, if not completely alien, so they approach toriel being their mom kinda... laterally? like "okay, I'm gonna call you mom. now, to figure out what that means to me..."

which went to add to Toriel's own gripes and baggage with HER motherhood, and sans' own issues with commitment and responsibility. disfunctional little family <3 but the best part was, that didn't stop frisk from being creechur and silly goofy! they're not realities that have to contradict each other, that can just be their personality. besides, being funny and charismatic is a very useful trait to have when you're on your own out there.

they're a little street rascal, like someone out of the irregulars from the sherlock holmes books. that's the way i like to see them :]

You made all those plans and invited everyone over for a party tomorrow, so you should know when they arrive. What if they arrive while you are still at your sister's place? What if you leave too late, trapped in some kind of small talk that you can't escape because it would be rude and I know you do that to please people. What if the guests are early? Then do I have to do everything, make preparations, make small talk? You know I can't do that. Especially if Lestrade starts to whinge about the whole Mycroft thing, or if Molly starts to talk about anything at all. You can't just abandon me with all of that.

Hello! Long time no see. I’m back in the world of searching for roleplay partners now my life has calmed down a little and I have a lovely work from home job. I currently have one long term writing partner (writing together for probably about 4 years now… jeez) but I’d love to expand my horizons. I’ve done these call-out posts before but if you’ve commented/sent me a message before and I haven’t responded due to my own inactivity, please get back in touch! wait. i just remembered, oh my god. SCREAM. does 13 year old me's rp count? because that would retroactively change my answer to the crossover question since i DID do that. it was so godawful and was probably 100k—started out as bbc sherlock fic and then bbc merlin got in there along with doctor who and supernatural and probably every fandom under the sun after that. we never posted that anywhere (thank GOD) but what a time. i don't co-write now. not for any particular reason, but i don't think it's come up.

see, this question is so hard because i write and consume so much different media. at the moment, in my current doctor who phase, i'll say tenrose! ask me during a different phase and you will get a different answer hehehe <3

all of four of them 😭 one reason i write oneshots is because my interests wanes so fast. you'll be hard pressed to find me in the same hyperfixation for longer than a few months, but i always come back eventually. specifically, RENEGADE'S RETURN (dc dick grayson-centric) would be the WIP imo because i posted that with no intention to finish it. all the other ones i had hopes, but this one . . . no </3

16. WHAT ARE YOUR WRITING STRENGTHS?

prose and characterisation. i think i'm getting pretty good at writing in the pov character's voice. like if you take my house md fic and compare it to . . . i don't know my raven cycle fic, i think the voices are distinct enough even with my same writing style:

HOUSE MD: New Orleans sticks to House’s skin. It reminds him of the Philippines. Long days baking under the sun, oppressive heat blanketing his entire body, sweat pooling at the top of his lip. At least when he was in the Philippines, he wore shorts and a tank top to cool down. Currently, there are about three layers on his chest—undershirt, button-up, blazer—and the AC in this place wheezes and puffs out mildly cold air like an overweight asthmatic kid attempting to run a marathon. THE RAVEN CYCLE: Adam Parrish does not have many things. A bare IKEA mattress, various pieces of makeshift furniture made out of cardboard, and a three-dollar rug he found at a sale. It’s not much, but it’s his and he’s proud of it. Sometimes, though, pride doesn’t discount how hot Virginia summers are. His skin is sticky with it, the light cotton of his shirt clinging to him, restlessness twisting under his skin.

i tried to pick two snippets that are generally about the same thing (summer heat!). at least to Me, this seems different enough in tone, but you know. vibes!

17. WHAT ARE YOUR WRITING WEAKNESSES?

my inability to write long form is genuinely not only a weakness but so so so detrimental to me fr. every fic i have written can EASILY be at least 25k EACH. probably more (definitely more) because i write the moments in between or . . . [sigh] let me say this instead. with longfic, there's usually a moment or a scene that you want to get to, the whole fic is culminating to that scene so you write thousands upon thousands of words to get to where the that scene would make sense in context, yes? well. for Me . . . i just write The Scene™

18. THOUGHTS ON WRITING DIALOGUE IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?

i'd fuck up google translate so fast (and have), so something like "they speak in spanish" or "'hi, how are you?' they ask in spanish" would be preferable to me.

19. FIRST FANDOM YOU WROTE FOR?

definitely pjo percabeth fic at the age of like . . . ten (10). i posted it on ffnet and have since scrubbed from the internet.

20. FAVOURITE FIC YOU'VE EVER WRITTEN?

funnily enough i created a series which is just fav fics that i've written which sounds so egotistical, but whatever. there are 13 works in there, i believe, and most of them are merlin lol. but in recent memory it has to be a tie between JUDAS KISS and THREAD OF GOLD (both arwen fic !!!) because i experimented with my writing sooooo much there, JUDAS KISS being first person and THREAD OF GOLD being second person. i typically write a close third person pov especially for fic. my prose is wired for that, but it was so fun to try to do that for first and second anddddd i got some banger lines out of it so a win's a win!

THREAD OF GOLD: Your father’s presence is larger than life. Larger than love. It looms. It casts shadows long enough to hide every hope and dream you’ve ever had for yourself. JUDAS KISS: All I can think about is Arthur. His rage is fine as a blade, sharpened by the betrayal I have dealt him.

Hi bewitched-bullet,

I'm the anon who talked about their "irreconcilable differences" when it comes to how to portray the characters the other day. I only mentioned it in passing because my main point was their lack of communication. Now I'd like to elaborate on the character portrayals. Like I said I've followed them for a year. And for the last 5-6 months I've observed their interactions on an almost daily basis.

(I'm a peaceful and gentle person and I hope my writing has reflected those qualities)

TL;DR: John has been trying to establish the relationship as a middle-aged couple; Sherlock's characterization is more in Series 1.

During this short six months, I've seen John's love declarations at least 4 times, which was either doubted, ignored, or "forgotten" the next day by Sherlock. Not big declarations, but those that came naturally as a result of the scene. John was apparently discouraged (since probably 3 months ago? It's so hard to search the posts with the Archive turned off) and even stopped acting jealous when there was Sheriarty. Oh, there was one time, I think your other followers may also remember, that John and Sherlock talked about John playing clarinet. It was a huge reblogged post and in the end John posted a photo of him playing clarinet with a ring on his finger. When followers pointed it out,John asked Sherlock something like "what could you deduce from me wearing your family heritage ring?" The question never got a reply. I'll send you links of love declarations when I get some free time to search through the blog.

Sherlock, on the other hand, is portrayed mostly as in series 1: reckless, brilliant, petulant, etc. and cranks up those qualities even more than Series 1. From time to time he forgets Rosie's existence. He also adds a characteristic that was not in BBC canon: Sherlock's lack of understanding of common daily expressions, like heart=feelings. I've seen him given anatomy lessons to followers when it came to "heart" and such. When followers questioned how he was able to go around his work if he didn't understand very common expressions or having edibles at home when Rosie lived there, John explained something like, "oh, he's toying you guys. That's not the case". The thing is that Sherlock behaves the same with John, so "toying with followers" doesn't explain it. The real reason is that they see characters at different timelines/ life stages.

I haven't followed them long, but I could already see for a while now that they couldn't meet in the middle ground, so the problem went back even further. I saw posts that saying the group doesn't talk as mods. Let's say that I wouldn't be surprised considering the lack of communication I've observed. This mess could have handled so much better if they had real communication along the way. They should have parted their ways a long time ago if they successfully communicated that the differences were irreconcilable. Personally I don't think it'll ever work out with zero behind the scenes, especially among characters with a long complicated canon history.

These are extremely good points for the role play community.

If their interpretation of a character they are playing doesn't vibe well, be cordial and try different characters, make adjustments, or separate ways.

The John mod mentioned that they have a 3 year history of rping together. The blogs are only.....2 years old? So they were rping together for a year before coming to tumblr.

If the John mod was dissatisfied with their character chemistry and rp style(s), a year is more than enough time to figure that out.

Of course people can change their minds. But as we have seen from Mycroft/John and Harriett mods, they refuse to speak out of character to deal with the more serious issues.
