Part 13... Lemme just, I need to process this really quick
Just everything happening, the mysteries around Benny, Henry and everyone else
And the way you write Henry is fucking fantastic. I wanna barf every time he opens his mouth (the whole kitten thing, is such a him thing that makes me so uncomfortable)
And us getting drugged?!? Like damn, didn't see that coming, but at least we made the show good!!
Amazing writing as always, you are just fantastic!!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I NGL but I didn't expect people to HATE Henry sm. Maybe a little yes, because he has a weird of confessing (only after y/n got wifed up and is no longer available) and now just rolls up by saying "kitten" very seductively and reader is like this close from pulling out her hair and strangling Henry with it. She has female rage everytime she looks at Henry now, and a part of is the reason is because silas keeps pissing her off and Henry is on the recovering end of her fury.
Okay but Henry, I want u guys to have this picture of him being this really successful businessman, he's very charming, has the gift of gab, does shady ass deals and deals with all kinds of people, he's like Harvey spectre but MUCH COOLER AND MUCH MORE EGOISTICAL, and with BROAD ASS SHOULDERS and almost always in business attire and he may let the other person think theire winning or even allow them to win, but only because he's getting the better end of the deal, the bigger payout.
As for his interest in Y/n, he likes u, but more than that, he LOVES riling u up (unlike silas, who only insults u because he truly believes in them and that he's better than u). I guess u could say Henry's way of pursuing y/n is like those playground boys pulling girls pigtails because they enjoy the attention.

Would you ever expand upon your joker junior thoughts more? I think that was such a well written idea and would love to hear what else you think about it
Oh my god yes. 100000% YES!
That post before was more of an idea vomit, didn’t cover all of what I thought, so I’m happy to hear someone wants to hear more.
So, JJ’s always been a tough convo for Tim. Obviously. But it’s not just because of how traumatizing the Joker can be, or about the shocks and psychological torture. It also reminds him of a grim time in his life. With Bruce still going through the motions post-Jason’s death, and Dick frequently spending all his time in Bludhaven, he hadn’t been watched much. Save for Babs, ofc.
That’s actually why they’re so close. She’s much more emotionally competent thanks to her dad, lol.
JJ wasn’t only a big thing for Tim, but for Gotham too. In a place like this, it wasn’t hard for whispers from the Joker’s men to travel to civilians and cops. Everyone knew why Robin was nowhere to be seen. Everyone knew why Batgirl looked the way she did, agitated and worried. Everyone knew why the cops searched that same warehouse over and over, never allowing anyone inside.
Which was also why no one was happy to see Nightwing, very obviously the first Robin, return after yet another sabbatical in Bludhaven. Of course, that stopped a little after everyone collectively realized that, oh crap, he doesn’t even know!
This begins a collective effort by the more clear-minded people of Gotham to NOT disclose anything JJ related. There has to be a reason, right? No way were they going to force Robin #3 to disclose anything he didn’t wait to. It didn’t hurt that a year or two later, a mysterious figure named Oracle began effectively making every news article or picture related to JJ disappear.
Everyone holds their breaths for the next few months. What if what happened to the second Robin happened to him? What if he was too crippled to go back out?
As the Batfamily grows bigger, it becomes way clearer that Robin #3 hasn’t said a WORD. Not even after they grow closer, when the screaming and murder attempts and arguments cease. He doesn’t say a word, so no one else does either.
Tim goes to great lengths to medicate himself against any variant of Joker venom or gas. The familiar smells just… bring things back to the surface.
He tries not to act like Jason whenever the Joker gets out of Arkham. It’s already hard for everyone to hold him back from killing the monster. Jason doesn’t need some second-rate copy of his trauma trying to get sympathy. Unlike Jason, he didn’t die. He didn’t come back differently, or lose footing on his life, his job, whatever.
It would just be better if Tim acted as aloof and concentrated as he always did. Not make a big scene, and follow Batman’s orders to a T. No need to worry anyone.
Honestly, the only reason no one notices the literal war going on in this boy’s head is because he doesn’t want to cause a scene.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what he says when one of the bats finds him the next night, still avoiding them…
Yeah, he full on denies EVERYTHING. Looks whoever it is, Jason, Steph, Dick, straight in the eye and says that what they saw was fake. Edited. Something to threaten Bruce with years ago. Tim just ran because…because…Anyway, he’s fine. Don’t worry about Tim Drake. He’s fine.
Babs groans over the comms when everyone hounds on her to tell them everything. Like hell is she gonna tell them a single thing until she has Tim’s full permission.

Another Analysis on Mizu×Akemi
(Because there can never be enough)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
l gotta admit it... the show was very ambiguous as to which character ends up with who and under what circumstances they're going to like each other. A lot of people see Taigen and Mizu because Mizu's sexuality, atleast in regards to liking men, is confirmed. She did feel attracted to her husband when she was married and she does associate some strong feelings with Taigen since she imagined that heated fight moment in the brothel when Kaji showed her the threesome. Then again... it's a threesome so there's allusion but no absolutes so far.
As for Mizu and Akemi, even if the two women could move in a romantic direction, they were too tied up in their own shit. Mizu was preoccupied with her revenge which is why she gave Akemi up in ep5 and Akemi couldn't see past her marriage with Taigen not because she thought he was a great guy but because he was the best option. He was close to home and not an entire brute as far as she knew. And then she didn't have a choice in marrying Taka either who turned out to be decent but no man warrants undying love just for being half human.
Needless to say, Akemi was dealing with her own shit. Mizu had Fowler to kill and there was little allusion to romance even if there are strong feelings between the two. Akemi, still, had to mean something for Mizu to flash back the first time their eyes met on the bridge when she was close to dead. As well as the addition of Akemi's knife to her blade. Likewise, Akemi claimed to have searched the onryo's eyes for love. But that's it as far as proof of feelings go. Nothing more Nothing less.
Coming to Mizu, even if her feelings were involved somewhere between Taigen and Akemi, she didn't didn't intervene in ep 8 and set the record straight by setting Akemi free, sending Taigen after her so they can be together and then leaving Ringo with Master Eiji. I was convinced that Akemi was gonna run into Taigen's arms after finding her newfound freedom but I was impressed when she chose greatness instead.
As for Mizu's revenge, she deliberately embarked to London alone. As far as she knows, everyone is better off without her but we see quite evidently that after Mizu's intervention nothing is going to be the same again. This doesn't show that she doesn't care, she does to the extent of resolving everything so they can be happy, but for the sake of her revenge, it is understood that Mizu doesn't want to get distracted from her focus or have a loved one get injured because of her path.
NOW... everything else is speculation. It's anyone's guess so I'll try my hand at it. I'm thinking of the bigger picture here and no revenge story ends in revenge right? It ends with love. And Mizu won't be paired up with a Londoner I'm sure, because her story has to wind back to Japan, where she started.
So who could she end up with? Ringo is her best friend and confidante but the writing focuses greatly on their platonic bond. There is allusion to more with Taigen, who is her childhood bully turned blood brother granted he's not major of a character, the writers downplayed him themselves by not giving him that intense of a character arc like Akemi or a whole change of absolute resolve for revenge unlike Mizu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Writingwise, Taigen was always kinda straddling the line of liking Akemi but really not, wanting to kill Mizu but really not, wanting honour but really not, wanting happiness but really not. His end wasn't concluded beyond him getting rejected by Akemi and his and Mizu's future was not remotely indicated. If he was on the ship with her, the writers would've shown us but he's suspended midair for the time being.
If Mizu is to have a high stake romance, it... has to be with Akemi... don't you think? Taigen never posed any real threat to Mizu, he can't outclass or outsmart her, they have great camaraderie and that's when he finally decided to treat her decently and going beyond to show loyalty, trust and support for what she does. There wasn't heavy ground for him to dislike her initially either, outside of his own arrogance. It wasn't a big change of character on his part to like Mizu since he's never had sincere grounds for hating her in the first place.
Even if Taigen improves his character in the following season, I can't see Mizu and Taigen being balanced and opposed enough for the two to willingly choose the other against the odds as opposed to falling in love due to convenient proximity. Taigen, I'm sorry to say, seems to blow with the wind and doesn't have much determination for pursuits as far as the writing goes. Pairing that with Mizu's iron will creates dissonance. If Mizu chooses love, it would be against the ODDS of all her other pursuits.
Her rage. Her revenge. Her agony.
And that, I only see matched in Akemi.
Only Akemi could go against her grain as much as Mizu to actually fall in love.
Akemi isn't in love with the Shogun's son, but has accepted him as a means to her pursuit for greatness for the purpose of which Takayoshi is a decent man who is likely to not try and subdue her. I'd go so far to say Akemi has rejected love as a means to survive and is bent on acquiring power to ensure her success so that no harm comes her way because. Just like Mizu, she once fought for love only to get betrayed by it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seki brought the Shogun's proposal to Daichi because he'd decided on Akemi's behalf that "Im only doing what's right for you." Taigen put his honour above ensuring that Akemi is not displaced in his absence, Akemi's father had all intentions of carting her off as a commodity to the Shogun's for his own political schemes, telling her that she's "not the hero of his family." And Mizu... also doomed Akemi in the hubris of thinking "She's better off."
In Kaji's words- "You stood by as the guards dragged her away screaming." Akemi doesn't see Mizu as trustworthy anymore, any overture for friendship or romance will take a lot from her end because from Akemi's perspective, she rode back captive on horseback with strange men, coming to terms with that fact that her agency will now be ripped away, her teeth blackened as an accessory to visually appeal to her new family and she'll be forced into her new husband's quarters to commit her "wifely duties." Takayoshi not being a brute was an exeption to the rule and for which Akemi is greatly lucky which makes sense why she's decided to stick by her new means and to work within them.
Circling back to stories... just as all revenge stories end with the prevalence of love so do all stories of greatness. Akemi and Mizu both deserve to be loved and it is evident because that's all they wanted initially. A simple house on the edge of nowhere, a life unremarkable and staid. Filled only by love and the company of two. For both Mizu and Akemi, this dream of love only brought crushing pain, it cemented them into paths where they want anything but love. Mizu in her descent for revenge and Akemi on her ascent to power. Their middle ground is love which they will have to fight towards if they ever decide to meet halfway but god... it would be a glorious fight.
In a future season... if a certain someone... fell in love enough to give up... power... and a certain someone fell in love enough to give up revenge. If the red eyed princess... decided to run away with the blue eyed samurai... in that, I will find peace...

I read all that drama from that person on the blog, I'll just say as a joke "what did this guy smoke to say all that that didn't make sense to me, honestly" I'll ask you a question, do you think they'll invite Kajiura in the end? Do you think the girls will sing the songs from the next Madoka movie?Whatever happens, I will support you and always love you. It hurts to see how quiet you have been. I forgot to say hello to you. I'm sorry, I hope you are well, dear. Take care of yourself.
Tumblr media
Hello there, anon! I'm fine, thank you. Still focusing on the good things. I refuse to give in to all the negativity around me. Everyone who dares to throw insults or accusations at the girls will instantly get blocked by me. There's zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour in my little corner of fandom. So far, this is how I've managed to stay sane.
Ah yes, the whole thing with this blog is pretty crazy. It's no wonder the author deleted everything again. Everyone, be sure to read my DETAILED ANALYSIS here. While some things were certainly rooted in fact, most of it was just speculation and gossip.
As for your questions (please be aware that I don't enjoy speculations so my answers won't be very elaborate):
[D]o you think they'll invite Kajiura in the end? It would be appropriate to invite her. She has been there for some of Kalafina's most important lives so I would want her to experience their reunion live as well. I don't know if it's possible though with the current hostilities between Space Craft and Yuki Kajiura. I am definitely not one of the people who think Yuki needs to have a key role in the production of the concert. The truth is, Yuki has rarely played a huge role in Kalafina's live productions, especially when their live shows became bigger. That's why it baffles me that so many fans seem to believe that this concert will be a total mockery/failure without Yuki's involvement. What I'm trying to say is that I personally don't need her as producer/director but I'd definitely want to see her in the audience or backstage.
Do you think the girls will sing the songs from the next Madoka movie? No idea. I know many fans are quite invested in this particular topic but I don't really care all that much. For the time-being I just want this reunion/tribute live to happen with as little drama as possible. Whether they decide to resume their activities as a group or they go back to their solo work, is entirely up to them. I would like it if they did a few Kalafina lives every once in a while, at a variety of venues, with different productions and arrangements. I certainly wouldn't mind if they started to release new music but I'm still not sure if it would be a good idea to go down that path without involving Yuki Kajiura. I'm afraid 90% of fans would not accept that. I am probably one of the few people who will be supporting Kalafina no matter what. I am pretty sure I would like new music from them even if it wasn't written by YK because my love for Kalafina as a group goes far beyond my appreciation for Yuki Kajiura's music. I just love the girls themselves, their vocals and their harmony. However, if they end up releasing new music written by someone else, it is unlikely to be used in the Madoka movie. I mean, YK is doing the soundtrack so having Kalafina sing a theme/insert song would be a little awkward if she wasn't in charge of the composition. It's possible of course but it would lead to a further deterioration of the situation. Maybe if they manage to clear up some of that tension, a collaboration is possible but right now, I don't see how it would work out. Also, there's a possibility that a song has already been recorded for the movie. Many fans are speculating that the studio picture from a few weeks ago featuring Kaori, rito, Yuriko and Keiko might have been a recording for a big project (based on the fact that everyone is super secretive about it). Guess we have no choice but to wait and see...
It hurts to see how quiet [they] have been. Yes! It's killing me. I really hope that in the upcoming FJS radio broadcast, Yuki will address the matter so people can finally calm down. By now, Yuki must know how much turmoil she has caused with her statement and her follow-up tweets are proof that she's eager to take the heat off. But there needs to be something more substantial and genuine than a couple of half-assed tweets. The way this radio broadcast has been announced out of the blue with only a day for fans to send in questions gives me hope that this is her way of damage control. Ideally, the girls will start posting again as soon as everything has calmed down again. For the concert to be a success, they need to be able to do some proper promo work. We need as many posts and videos as possible! For now, it's just the FC lotteries with the core fan base applying for tickets. Many of us don't need much convincing but there are certainly a lot of other fans who are currently not planning to attend the concert so they need to be won over somehow. Not that I would necessarily want those pseudo-fans to be there but unfortunately, someone needs to fill that 8k capacity venue...

quick lil song talk thingy about a letimotif in mcsm s2
ever think about how xara's theme not only reflects her getting back her life after several years, but also everyone's animosity of romeo blending together. it represents how everyone is working towards the one goal of stopping him. making sacrifices, such hard decisions, with one common goal.
literally her theme and its first appearance xara joins you once she learns jesse has been wronged by romeo too. then in the second one to feature her theme is when you learn to the full extent how much romeo screwed xara over. you get the full picture of how messed up he is even before you learn about the fact he killed fred (i may be misremembering lmk if im wrong). even when xara loses hope in the world, jesse and everyone else pushes on which motivates her. she lost the will to keep going after so many years, but the spark of motivation of those around her keeps that flame going for longer, and her theme follows that.
the theme plays again (and the last time if u gave xara her bed) at the rebuilt portal. everyone at this point has BEEN working together, even more people to the cause. the fight against romeo is growing bigger, so the next appearance of her theme is stronger than ever, not stronger in appearance but also having more that accompanies it. unlike prisoner x and the oasis, theres a lot more going on in dangerous eyes as if theres a lot more people fighting, fighting on. the theme pops in a bit further into the theme after the beginning but in the middle it melts into something else. synergy? hope? an uplifting and keep on fighting sort of theme. (2:56-3:45 on the yt posting if u want specifics). all of this sort of dies out in the moment where radar makes a sacrifice and u have to choose whether to let him or not, like how it is in the FIRST theme choosing between lluna and nurm. a reminder that contributions to the effort involved sacrifices too, those who felt strong enough to the cause to ENDANGER themselves to move it on. ok ik lluna didnt but nurm literally tells jesse he'll take the fall.
and don't think i forgot about if you didn't give xara her bed. while not having her theme play at all and instead a different song kinda fits as it lacks the theme at all like how attacked without anyone else but on her own, i think the scrapped "Xara in Beacontown" works better. in it, the theme is stronger than ever before but it is also alone. the theme is on its own. not in sync or synergy with other things, just on its own. a fight for herself, a last stand for herself. but to have an abrupt end that matches the first part of the song. while she did prevent champion city from falling apart, without others she couldnt stop him.
it took everyone working together to stop him. everyone contributing. i mean literally in the fight against romeo, w/o jack or petra, romeo would've likely won. even in the last fight, jesse needed others to beat him, not just himself.
the summary? xara's theme not only emphasizes taking back what was lost, fighting for herself...but also every fighting together. everyone working together. everyone united to take back everything that they lost to him, to romeo.

I’m looking for an artist to collab with for an AU
Hello! If you don’t know me already, my name is Dragon, the author of the TADC fics 5+1 and Royally Screwed (and also a funnybunny shipper). However, I am coming up with a totally new AU, something similar to the carnival and freakshow au as well as inspiration from Bendy and the Ink Machine, Poppy Playtime and Amanda the Adventurer.
I call it ‘The Amazing Digital REDACTED’ au.
In this au, you ‘the player’ play as Jax, an ex-employee of C&A returning to the abandoned building in order to find the rest of your work employees after a mysterious incident years ago. With hidden knowledge that he must enter the game in order to find them, Jax does just that while managing to retain his memories. Along with his accomplice Bubble (a helpful AI who wants to free the rest of the trapped souls) and some help from his friend Winter (yes Winter from 5+1 will be in this but that fic isn’t canon to this au) on the outside, Jax tries to fix his past mistakes and save everyone – especially a particular jester he loved and lost long ago.
Yup that’s right, Jax will be the main character of this au and you will be playing as him. Let me explain, there is a feature on AO3 that allows you to make multiple choices on how you want the story to play out, like a telltale video game if you understand what I’m saying. You will get to pick and choose how Jax goes about his adventure and receive more than one ending (with a canon ending as well). And yes, this au’s main ship is funnybunny as I believe that it deserves more recognition and I find that these two in this au are very interesting to explore (especially with their past).
However, this fic is going to take quite a long time to make and is going to be bigger than anything else that I have written in the past. That is why I want to team up with a fellow TADC/funnybunny artist (since I am not an artist and do better with writing and characters) and create a separate blog for this au to come up with comics and art together. If you’ve seen the blogs for the Carnival and Freakshow au’s, you know that with their comics and art they explore more of the world, drop some lore, do character sheets and explain the pasts of the characters. This is what I’m hoping for if I team up with an artist. This au will mostly be on tumblr however if it does well I might add it to twitter as well since I’m putting this post on twitter as well.
Here are what I have pictured for the characters so far.
Jax: Past name; Jack. Ex employee of C&A, main character and who you the player will be playing as. Before the ‘incident’, Jax used to work at C&A as part of a coding team, to make sure that there were no bugs before any games were released. While C&A wasn’t on his list of jobs to pick, it was the only one that seemed best due to the pay and the fact that they could pay for schooling for those with children. Since Jax has a little sister named Jane, and has no parental figures in his life, he takes the job in order to help pay for the both of them and to make sure that Jane gets a good education. Unlike his canon TADC counterpart, Jax is more quiet, tired and while sarcastic, isn’t all out cruel to everyone unless they are bad people (think Mike from the FNAF movie especially with his relationship with his younger sister). He becomes quite close with his boss’s daughter however, Penny (Pomni) with him starting to develop feelings for the shy girl. However, after the day of the ‘incident’ Jax is left with nothing but guilt since he knew things that contributed to that day. Now he has a chance to make things right and save everyone, and Pomni.
Pomni: Past name; Penny. Ex employee of C&A and daughter of the CEO Abel, Pomni is an extremely introverted and socially awkward person, due to being traumatised by her mother’s death. She and her father don’t have a good relationship, with reasons that will become clearer later. She was quite close to the past version of Ragatha, but other than her father, she doesn’t really have a relationship with anyone. She likes to work alone to focus on the numbers and accounting part of her job (she understands numbers more than people) until she meets Jack. Though Jack is usually a bit standoffish, he is sweet to Penny due to her shy nature and helps keep an eye on her throughout their jobs so that she doesn’t feel too overwhelmed. Overcome by his sudden kindness and protectiveness, Penny starts to develop feelings for Jax. However, after the day of the ‘incident’ she is now trapped in the game, forever a jester trapped in a box…until Jax shows up.
If you’d like to be an artist for this au and collab with me, you can send me a DM or @ me. Do either of these and a sketch of the characters and I will reach out to you and confirm that you can be my partner for this project.
Here are some visuals on how I envision the characters.
Jax:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sans the goggles, think of Jax wearing this over his grey and dirty overalls, he could also be holding a makeshift weapon like a bat or a stick so that he can fight off enemies. This version of Jax is much more serious and he is ready to fight in order to get the job done.
Pomni:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the last pic, focus on the makeup rather than the outfit)
Overly baggy and childish, with blue and black instead of blue and red. This design is a reminder of her past trauma and as so, is implemented into her circus features. Due to it being too big for her, it makes it hard for her to run and escape, and the ridiculousness of it all is a huge slap in the face that this is her new life now and is fully erased of her past.  Even the makeup covers up any kind of normalcy on her face.
Well that’s it for now, I hope you guys take this into consideration and I hope you all have a lovely day/afternoon/night.

Descendants Sortings
Mal
Mal is a burned Lion Primary. It isn’t obvious at first, but the more her character developed over the course of the series, the more clear it became she is not a Snake -frankly, this girl would have been better off if she would have taken a more self-serving Snake mentality (uo, I know!) in the latter movies- and no Bird, as she shows none of the signs. I did debate whether she might be a Badger primary or no, but both her ‘I want’ songs (If Only and My once upon a time) show she is a burned Lion who is desperate to unburn, but well, her internal compass has been skewed by being raised by Maleficent: “I can't decide/ What's wrong, what's right/ Which way should I go?”/“You had a cause to serve, but did you serve it?”
Mal really really needs a Cause to work for. In Descendants 1, her Cause is making her mother proud by stealing the wand. In Descendants 2, her new Cause is to be the perfect lady of the court and girlfriend for Ben. And she feels like she’s failing miserably at it, which is why she lives for the Isle. This and the fact that Mal is pretty much facing an identity crisis here and feels like her entire life is being caged by the life everyone else is planning for her. Both nightmarish situations for a Lion who isn’t entirely unburned yet. In the third movie, Mal’s Cause is to be a good queen for Auradon, no matter the price. I personally find Mal’s arc very compelling and intriguing as I think we rarely see a protagonist who is loved by the narrative supporting a point of view the narrative disagrees with, but still be treated with empathy by it.
Her Secondary is even more interesting to me cause before rewatching, I would have never thought she is a Bird Sec, but yet it is so plain! Mal uses magic as a very efficient tool despite never being formally taught. She just gets handed a book and is told to figure it out on the fly. And she does it spectacularly … by paying attention to the instructions like with the love potion. She’s also the planner of the group, some of the plans being better than others (drugging Ben, giving Uma the fake wand etc.). And last, but not least: Mal is an information gatherer. One seemingly insignificant scene that showcases a great lot about Mal is in the car in the first movie, when she asked which button opens the barrier. They almost died, witnessed magic for the first time and are leaving their homes, yet this is on her mind.
Evie
Evie is the textbook Badger Secondary. She is defined by her sewing and hard work. The girl is so good at it, she manages to buy her own castle with the money! I do think she has a Snake Secondary Model in order to play the role of The Temptress that was forced on her.
I had a harder time figuring out the primary, but one thing is clear from the start: Evie is a Loyalist. She’s the one who is more or less keeping the group together and she sometimes clashes a little bit with Mal, as Loyalists don’t see the bigger picture the way Idealists do, which in Evie’s case, is a very good thing. I contemplated Badger, but I’m pretty sure she’s a Snake actually. Evie may be one of the biggest advocates for the Isle kids, but she only becomes one after she says Dizzy again. In D2, Evie is willing to go to the Isle to save Mal even though she’s afraid she might get stuck there. And yet she still volunteers to stay with Mal there, because Mal is her best friend. Evie is a Snake through and through and I think it’s very interesting how in the third movie, which shows the darker side of Lion primaries, it’s Snake!Evie (and Uma) that are framed as being right.
Jay
Jay has a Snake secondary he uses to steal and charm people. And sometimes to exploit loopholes eg. making Lonnie captain in the second movie. He is a Lion Primary, of the Glory Hound variety in the first movie. His entire arc there is to learn how to work inside a team.
Carlos de Vill
Carlos is also an immature primary, but unlike Jay, he is a Hedonistic Snake. When they first arrive in Auradon, he’s mostly interested in eating chocolate and playing video games. He’s also the one most annoyed later on by Evie and Mal always going off to chat amongst themselves leaving him and Jay out of the loop. Bird secondary: he is a tech genius and knowledge gatherer (see how he tries to see if his clapping can make the statue change in D1).
King Ben
Let’s make one thing clear, D1!Ben is smart. And a troll (see him introducing Mal to his parents or how he tells Mal he knew about the love potion). He is framed as the Big Damn Hero in both the first and the second movie, which of course made me think he had one of the ‘heroic’ primaries: Badger or Lion. I settled on Lion, as it is incredibly easy for him to go against the grain. Something not a lot of people can say in this franchise. He’s also extremely concerned with upholding his role as a good king. He forgives Mal for the love potion because she risks her life to save him, which convinces him she is not an evil person. Ben has very firm convictions. He is the only one who stands up for the VKs at Family Day despite being the one with an actual reason to hate them.
He definitely has a Fluid Secondary, as a huge part of his charm is the fact that he tries to make himself liked. But he’s also a hard worker who disapproves heavily of taking shortcuts (see his fight with Mal over her using magic for everything) which made me go with Badger.
Uma
Uma is a classic (exploded) Snake primary. It seems to be all about Mal in D2. She’s enraged when Mal says she’s never given Uma a thought since she left. Ben offers her to come to Auradon and be part of a solution for saving other VKs. But Uma refuses. And I think it’s both because she wants to do things her way, but also because Uma is not exactly looking at the bigger picture here the way Ben is. ‘You don’t get to win everytime.’ These are her words to Mal when she realizes she had been tricked with a fake wand. Her secondary is a little trickier but I’m going with Bird because, here’s the thing, Uma is Mal’s mirror. Ben clocks it almost immediately: “She’s an angry girl with a bad plan. Not so different from you when you first came to Auradon.” Mal also constantly shows that she understands Uma and her methods better than anyone. Uma even uses the same plan as Mal when she uses the love spell on Ben. These girls are two sides of the same coin. (A bit of a side note, but I’m really curious how they are going to handle Uma as the Principal of Auradon Prep in D4. The clips we’ve seen so far make me really optimistic. Plus, since I’ve been hopelessly contaminated by TVD and never cured, Uma as principal reminded me of Caroline as headmistress in Legacies and yeah, I’m very optimistic this means good things for Uma xDD).
Li Lonnie
Lion Secondary as she is extremely honest and straightforward: “I know you hate us. And you are evil. But I’ve got money.” she says when she wants Mal to give her a new haircut. You don’t really get more Lion than that. Her primary was harder but from the first movie she looked to me like an Idealist with the way she saw the world: “Even villains love their kids.” I’m thinking Lion as in D2, she clearly goes to the Isle to prove herself by saving the king. Sounds familiar? Well, Lion primary Mulan did the same.
Princess Audrey
Audrey is another Lion Secondary girl in Auradon. Seriously this girl’s attempts at manipulation, make Mal look subtle: “Make me your queen and I’ll wake everybody up.” Villain!Audrey was a hammer: all raw power, no finesse. D1!Audrey was no better either, see her very blunt introduction to the VKs.
Audrey is a Badger Primary, no doubt in my mind about it. She’s very upset when the VKs disturb the Auradon Prep hierarchy and she exhibits some very typical Badger prejudices. “And then everybody looks good. So where would I be?” Audrey asks when she realizes Mal is giving the other girl make-overs, because she needs the social validation from being the prettiest princess there. In D3 it kills her that she did everything right and still someone else gets to be queen. I find it super interesting that Audrey asks Ben to ‘make [her] queen’ when she definitely had the power to crown herself. You might think it was because she loved him, but Queen of Mean ,which is her ‘I want’ song, shows very clearly that it was never about Ben the person. What she wants is his validation, because Audrey was raised to believe that his opinion, as the King, is the most important one. Audrey isn’t a Snake looking to have Ben for herself, a Lion seeking glory or a Bird trying to ‘rectify’ a system that is wrong; she is a Badger who is working within the confines of her society to achieve the status she wants.
Jane
Jane is so so Burned, I can’t help but wonder what the hell was Fairy Godmother doing cause she sure as hell wasn’t parenting her daughter the way she was supposed to. Jane is a Badger Primary who was ostracized by her only community so of course she latches onto Mal and Evie the first time they show her kindness. But D1 is a story about the failings of Badger primaries and the sheep mentality, so when she gains status and the VKs lose it following the events of Family Day, of course Jane aligns herself with the popular kids. She’s not gonna risk becoming an outcast again. This is also the driving force behind her stealing the wand. Her secondary is also super burned, but I’m betting on Lion. Not only is she extremely honest and impulsive, but Lion seems to be the default secondary for Auradon girls. Which is super interesting since generally Lion is not the secondary framed as the most feminine, but here it is.
...I just realized Jane is the burned version of Audrey. Oh, the irony!
Harry Hook
Double Snake, most likely. He is loyal to Uma and Uma only. He also has the ~vibe of a Snake secondary.
Prince Chad Charming
Chad is such a Snake Primary with Audrey as his person. He’s also pretty hedonistic as seen in D2: Ben might be dying, but the most important think is well, could Chad be second in line for the throne? I was a bit unsure of his secondary, but I think it is Badger as the only two times he’s successful (getting Evie in trouble for using the mirror, snapping at the VKs at Family Day) is when he involves other people.
Doug
Another Badger Primary. After Family Day, he gives into the peer pressure and shuns the VKs like everyone else. Maybe Badger Secondary too? Who knows, honestly this guy doesn’t have that much of a personality. But he seems to be a Bookkeeper Badger with the way he and Evie understand each other.
Gil
Gil doesn’t get to shine much, but I think he may be another Double Badger, and probably one of the sweetest Badger in the whole series. And considering he is the son of Gaston, I can’t help but appreciate the irony.
Dizzy
Dizzy is framed as a mirror for Evie in the second movie: the girl who could be so much more, if only she got the chance. This makes me think the two house share and Dizzy is a Snake Badger too. Which honestly tracks with the way she works at the salon and seems to hold no grudge on Evie getting to achieve her dreams while she doesn’t. Because Evie is her person, so of course Dizzy can’t be mad at her.
Celia Facillier
Celia is a Snake Primary who wants the guarantee of being able to see her father after she comes to Auradon, because she loves her father. It’s that simple. Considering how she throws the ember in the water out of rage when she realizes Mal has been lying to her, I’m thinking Lion Secondary.
Tl; Dr
Mal - (burned) Lion/Bird
Evie - Snake/Badger with Snake model
Jay - Glory Hound Lion/Snake
Carlos - hedonistic Snake/Bird
Ben - Lion/Badger
Uma - (exploded) Snake/Bird
Lonnie - Lion/Lion
Audrey - Badger/Lion
Jane - burned Badger/bunred Lion
Harry - Snake/Snake
Chad - Snake/Badger
Doug - Badger/Badger
Gil - Badger/Badger
Dizzy - Snake/Badger
Celia - Snake/Lion

Old Friend (Azriel x Reader)
Warnings: fluff
Prompt: “I didn’t know what I wanted from the future until I pictured you in it.”
a/n: inspired by me literally being kicked out of my apartment this week. woo hoo ): I have one more "kicked out of my apartment" fic coming with Cas so look out for that coming soon.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚
Today was the worst day of your life so far. You were being kicked out of your apartment complex. The entire complex was being renovated to match the standards set by the rest of Velaris, but that meant that you had nowhere else to go. The only person you could think to ask was an old friend of yours from when he first moved here from the Illyrian Mountains.
Although, you had no idea how to find him, so you went to the only one who would know where he was, the High Lady.
It was an anxiety-inducing situation that you put yourself in.
You had waited until she was finished with all her students in her studio before approaching. There were many stories and rumors about what the High Lady was like, but you had not seen for yourself.
As you stepped beside her, you bowed your head, “My Lady. I had hoped you would have time to help me with something.”
She looked up shocked, “No need for formalities! Just call me Feyre. What can I help you with?”
You smiled back at her, “Well, I have been trying to find Azriel as he is an old friend of mine. Would you be able to pass him this note?”
“Of course! Is there anything I personally can help you with?”
“Oh, no. Just passing him the note will suffice. Thank you my La- Feyre.”
You zipped out of there before she could ask you any more questions.
At the River House that night, the Inner Circle was having a wonderful meal when Feyre remembered the letter, “Oh, Az, this female came up to me today saying she was an old friend of yours and handed me this note for you. So who is the lucky female we don’t know about?”
A small blush rose upon his cheeks as his mind began racing at who the Mother it could be. But then he grabbed the letter and began reading:
Dear Az,
I hope this finds you well. I have been displaced from my apartment building and didn’t know where else to go. I know we haven’t spoken in a while, but would there be any way that you could let me stay at your place for a little bit? I don’t have anywhere else to go. I will be in our spot in the library we used to frequent. They are letting me stay one night before also kicking me out.
Hope to see you soon.
Yours,
Y/N
This shocked Az. He hadn’t heard from you since he snuck off to see you in his early years before gaining all of his current responsibilities. There had never been closure on your friendship. You were his world back then. He had loved you more than he felt about Mor but led everyone to believe he was pining after her so as to not find out about you.
As he comes back to reality, his cheeks begin to burn, “She is in fact an old friend, I must go to her at once.”
Everyone was confused, so he left the letter on the table for everyone to read and headed out.
As you were nestled by the hearth taking in the warmth of the fire, you felt his presence. When you did see him, your eyes lit up bigger than balloons.
He came.
His hazel eyes were unchanged, unlike the rest of him. He was a lot bigger than you remember. He wrapped you up in a hug and spun you around. You don’t remember the last time someone had made you happy like this.
You thought Az would take you back to the old beat-up shack he used to live in before he felt worthy enough to live somewhere where the High Lord allowed, but he took you to a townhouse. Little did you know that no one had ever visited this townhouse before. He never let anyone in here. He was saving it for the one. He was saving it for you.
As you put your sack of items from your old apartment down, a tear trickled down your face, “I- I didn’t think you would come.”
“Why wouldn’t I come? You mean everything to me.” He replied back quickly.
You pondered that response for a few beats. Everything? You couldn’t quite comprehend that, “But we haven’t seen each other in so long? I thought you had forgotten about me.”
His brows furrowed. “I have thought about you everyday from the last day I saw you, but my job is dangerous… I have to be careful with the ones I love.”
Love? How could he love you?
He kept going, “You have directly changed my life for the better. I- I didn’t know what I wanted from the future until I pictured you in it. So please, stay here with me.”
That was the sweetest thing you had ever been told. It felt like those words were making your heart grow five times its current size. He made you believe in love again.

'confessions of a judas right before the kiss' - teresa agnes
Teresa knows what must be done for the Cure, for the world. Thomas doesn't understand. Maybe he will, maybe he won't, but Teresa won't waste any more time trying to convince him.
masterlist
Unlike anyone else, Teresa knows how this will end. Unlike anyone else, Teresa knows that it will end right. She doesn’t understand how everyone else is so blind and so full of themselves to think that the lives of a dozen teenagers are worth the world, but Teresa can see past her own self importance to realize what she has to do. She’s always had a gift for logic and pure reasoning. Maybe that comes from seeing firsthand what the Flare does to people she cares about. Maybe that comes from remembering.
Many boys and many girls have lost their memories in the course of the WCKD experiments. Teresa, however, kept all of her memories safe and secure in her brain, where they will remain along with her good grace, her common sense, and her knowledge of a simple, age-old adage:  WCKD is good. It always has been. It always will be.
For once, though, she’s alone in that belief. Out here, at least. How is it that only a short time ago, hardly even a matter of months let alone a couple of years, Teresa had Thomas right by her side? He’s still there now, of course, but a wedge has been driven between them. Thomas doesn’t get it anymore. He can’t see the forest for the trees, and he cannot understand that there is a grander mission at play than just the wellbeing of a handful of teenagers.
They can call her insane, or violent, or a traitor. It’s fine. Teresa is no stranger to name-calling. However, when Thomas and his friends talk about how they can’t believe WCKD would do this to them– them, just a few people really, hardly more than a couple dozen– Teresa remembers the hundreds of thousands of teenagers out there in the world right now, either currently having their minds ripped to pieces by the Flare virus or lying in terrified wait for such a fate to befall them.
Teresa has always been good at seeing the bigger picture. They used to say that’s what made her so good, so special, so perfect for the WCKD project. Really, it was because she was both immune to the virus and desperate enough to do anything to cure it, but the sentiment was appreciated. Teresa is a good student, and a good student always obeys orders.
Including, at the moment, the order to turn in Thomas and everyone else currently clustered around the campfire. She can see them now, laughing at each other, running their hands through the bright sparks that have escaped to the air. They’re happy. Good. They all deserve happiness, even for only a short time. Even Teresa, who is about to betray all of them.
She doesn’t know what Thomas will say when he finds out. She can picture it already, the slow crumple of his face like tissue paper in her hands. The light will drain from his eyes, and there will be no more pleased spark behind his irises when he sees her face. It’ll hurt him, obviously, but it will hurt Teresa far more, because unlike Thomas, she remembers what it was like when he still cared about the cause.
They’ll give him back his memories once all of the Gladers are returned to WCKD headquarters. Maybe then he’ll thank her for it, for correcting his course. Or maybe, at a bare minimum, he’ll stop hating her. Teresa will settle for that. There is nothing that can stop her from doing the right thing, but it’s always easier when you have someone by your side. That was Thomas for a while. It isn’t him anymore.
She doesn’t understand why he doesn’t believe in it any longer, truly, but she’s got time to experiment with that. The returned memories will help, probably. Hopefully. WCKD promises they will, but WCKD promises a lot. Most of the time, it’s Teresa’s problem to make sure the promises come to fruition. Usually, they do, but then sometimes Thomas loses his memories and Teresa loses him and then nothing really makes sense anymore, not as it once had.
It’s no issue, though, not to her. If it was, she’s cured herself of it a long time ago. Part of the gift of foresight is the knowledge that what needs to be done must be done, and there is no way around it. So Teresa will betray her friends, if that is what it takes to save the world, and she will continually purge WCKD of the infected to ensure the organization stays alive, and she alone will enable them to find the cure.
When they do get it– because they will, make no surprise of it, the cure to the Flare will come out because of Teresa, because Teresa was the one who never gave up. It won’t be a bad epitaph for her tombstone. It’s certainly a good mantra to keep in mind while she completes the difficult tasks in search of something better. All Teresa has to do is press one button, and WCKD will come. Easy. Simple. Alienating.
She’s already separated herself from the happy crowd down below, electing to veer closer to the rock face shadowing the bonfire so she can have some time to think. Sometimes, it feels like that’s all she can do:  think, plan, use her brain, but then again, that’s what she was designed to do. Teresa Agnes is a construct of a WCKD laboratory. If there was a girl before her, she only ever existed as proof that the old ways could not continue.
Because Teresa remembers it, doesn’t she? She remembers everything. No matter what she tells the others, no matter what she tells Thomas, Teresa remembers it all. Running. Screaming. There was a little girl once, a little girl who was alone and Immune, and she was rescued by kind people who fell to the Flare. She saw it happen as they gave her over to WCKD. Bright eyes clouded over by inescapable, incomprehensible rage. They could have escaped the virus a little longer if they hadn’t rescued her, probably, hid out in some back corner of the country where there were fewer Cranks, but they didn’t. Teresa was the priority.
That’s a true sacrifice. They risked their lives by sending her to WCKD instead of running because they believed in the possibility of a cure, a cure that could be brought about by a girl named Deedee who’s already forgotten what her mother’s laugh sounded like but does know what it feels like to run from days and nights, surrounded by immense darkness and the insane. That girl knows why the cure will always come first, even before herself, and by consequence Teresa will always know that too.
We all have to die so everyone else can live. This is the way the world works. No one likes to be the sacrificial lamb, but everyone loves to reap the rewards. Thomas and the others might not want to die, and heaven knows Teresa doesn’t either, not after everything, but all those who already succumbed to the Flare and will at some point in the future didn’t want to die, either. Which is a worse fate, to fall victim to your own mind or to be quickly and quietly put out of your misery knowing you’ll save the fate of humanity?
The choice is obvious. To her, at least. The other Gladers still think they can fight this one out; hell, they still think there’s something to fight. Teresa wants to tell them that she’s battling a bigger enemy than just Janson, she’s going up against the enormity of the Flare, but they don’t want to listen. They already don’t trust her. This will just exacerbate it.
It doesn’t matter, anyway. To the lab they were born, and to the lab they will be returned. This is how they save the world. This is why it’s worth it. Teresa did not want to watch her friends die. She certainly did not want to be the one pulling the trigger or holding the syringe, but no one gets an easy out just because they stopped liking the circumstances. Thomas helped her design the experiments in the first place. He understood the gravity of it all then, but if he doesn’t anymore, that’s not her fault.
Teresa has her thumb on the button to call WCKD to their location. Maybe the tracer was activated already, maybe they embedded one in her skin and it’s been sending them signals this whole time. They could have just given her the illusion of choice so they could introduce one more accursed variable into the experiment of Teresa Agnes. When they carve into her brain– if she’s the one they choose to use, of course– she wonders if they’ll see how much she grappled with this. She wonders if that’ll make for a better cure, knowing that she tried.
She has time, though, before she does it. One last glance. She can see her friends laughing by the fire, how the sparks illuminate bright grins and dazzling happiness. WCKD will come soon enough, blowing down retribution harsh enough to stamp out their fire and the last of their hopes, but for now, it’s good. Teresa can’t help but feel as if she has given them this, even if she will be the one to take it away. The small moments are worth far more than anyone imagines, anyway. She has several of her own.
She can’t quite find Thomas among the crowd, but that’s alright. He’s always difficult to track down anyway, too popular for his own good. Too many people need him, and Teresa is one of them. Her heart swells as she remembers a different time, when they had both been smaller and she, at least, had been no less fervent about the cause. Teresa shuts her eyes, reaches into her pocket, and activates the remote. WCKD is on their way now, if they weren’t already. Job done.
Small pebbles skitter loose on the path behind her. Teresa turns to see Thomas coming up behind her. Guiltily, she finds that she’s grateful to come face to face with him again, to have one last moment before he hates her completely.
He comes to a stop, leaning back against the rock face so he can stare at the wide sky stretching out before him. Thomas has always had this natural sense of wonder about him, this innate passion for the people and places he visits. It’s sort of like naivete, were it not for the fact that both of them have experienced far too much to ever be innocent. Teresa’s less good at it– appreciating the little things– but when she watches Thomas, she imagines that she might know what’s going through his head at least a little better than she did before.
Thomas tears his gaze from the bright spark of the campfire to look at her. “What are you doing up here?” He asks, voice casual. No suspicion yet. Just curiosity.
It’s a good trait to have, for a scientist, for someone chasing the cure. In just a short while, he’ll have his memories back, and then he’ll be hers again. Teresa looks back at him, and instead of answering, she just smiles. Thomas smiles back.
Outside, several miles away, engines roar across the desert, powering towards them. Nobody knows at all except for one girl, and she is very good at keeping secrets. The best of which she knows by heart, the one she wrote to the Gladers before she sent herself up into the Maze:  WCKD is good.

I want to make so many posts about Jedi Survivor (HEAVY spoilers ahead btw) but one of my first thoughts is what a cruel twist of fate the title for the game is.
I mean, by the end of the story of all the current or former Jedi who are major characters (Cal, Bode, Cere, Eno Cordova, Dagan Gera), only Cal survives. Jedi Survivor (singular) in the most literal sense. And each die in their own tragic way.
Eno gets killed just because Bode wanted to be an asshole (there was no reason for Bode under the circumstances to kill Eno when he could've left with the compass) and needed Tanalorr for what ultimately amount to selfish albeit understandable reasons. I don't know what it means but it's especially tragic because there's no time to even think about Eno's death. His death is meaningless. It just happens and not even to Bode's particular benefit. It's a perfectly terrible conclusion for the Jedi Master of the older age, for someone who was able to escape the needless death from a clone trooper's blaster but ended up getting betrayed by a trusted ally anyway.
Cere's death was heroically tragic and quintessentially Jedi. She tried to take down Skyguy and gave herself up to buy time for everyone else to escape. She could've ran but didn't. And this time facing Vader, she didn't use the dark side at all. She was able to put her dark past behind her despite facing a part of it again. There isn't much else to say; it's a dreadful end to someone beloved by Cal as his mentor and beloved by me too.
Bode's end is heartbreaking, almost inevitable, and ominous. He betrayed everyone for what he rationally believed was a worthy cause. He thought that he was doing everything necessary to save his daughter, his one true love left in the world. But in the end he sacrificed what could have been an opportunity for so many others to seek shelter to only give shelter to one person. And his daughter did not at all appear to be on board with his plan. Bode was given chance after chance by Cal to stop, to surrender, but he kept going. He probably told himself he was in too deep, that there was no other option, blinded by attachment. Despite being a former Jedi, he became attached to the point where he killed one Jedi in cold blood and was ready to kill another, all so he could keep Tanalorr for his own family. Cal could've taken his direction; kept Tanalorr all to his own family, sacrificing an opportunity for others in need. But Cal knew that others needed as safest a haven that could be mustered, and Bode was only looking out for himself, so much so that he proactively worked for the Empire.
Dagan's death shows another window in Cal's potential path. Dagan was always obsessed with achieving Tanalorr, blinded by its majesty even after 200 years in bacta. He never stopped to reevaluate, after the Nihil invasion, after Sanatari pleaded with him, after waking up in a new era. He never stopped, always kept going, never thinking, never taking a breath. And that would have ultimately led to Dagan accruing power for its own sake, not for the sake of helping refugees or even really concerned with stopping the Empire. Cal fortunately was self-aware enough to realize that he couldn't afford to be that obsessed with fighting the Empire via Tanalorr to see the bigger picture of who needed help and how. And Cal spent the past 5 years and much of the game never having a chance to stop and think. His contemplation allows him to see that Tanalorr needs to be for refugees, not just as a base of operations.
Like Bode, Dagan is a fallen Jedi seeking Tanalorr, but unlike Bode, Dagan is obsessed with it in the abstract, in concept only. He was stuck in the past (literally so stuck he spent 200 years in a tank!) while The High Republic Jedi moved on to the present. The Order of old recognized that places are meaningful but only to the extent they help people, and if it would put more people in harm's way to stay somewhere, they shouldn't stay. That simple! But Dagan got lost in Tanalorr's potential as an end in itself, and simultaneously forgot its purpose. Extrapolating the lesson, Dagan represents what happens when Jedi get attached to the Force as a source of power for its own sake, instead of it as a means for good.

TMA - Chapters 31-40: One mystery solved, 300 left
And so, here we are. We reached the end of season 1.
Let’s not waste too much time here: I want to see what it will be about and if there will be any juicy foreshadowing of season 2.
<< Main Masterlist < Previous post
_______________________________
MAG 31 - First Hunt
“Hunted. Yes, I think I’m starting to know the feeling.”
Are you, Jon? Are you? Then why are you still recording statements in this goddamn Institute? Have you not listened to all the times I told you to go away?
I don’t understand what is he doing: he knows there are worms everywhere, he knows they’re surrounded, he’s not even leaving the Institute anymore. And he is the one asking what is Jane Prentiss waiting for.
No, Jon, the real question is: What are YOU waiting for? Why are you still here? Is it possible that the “crimson fate”/curse/whatever is keeping him there? Did the curse activate already? Can someone please grab this man and ran out of the Institute?
Speaking of the statement… it’s so useless, even Jon refused to pay attention to it. And if Jon didn’t care, then why should I?
_______________________________
MAG 32 - Hive
Wow. Wow. That was truly something else.
Seriously, I love the emotional rollercoaster that is this series: if one statement is meh, the next one is a bomb. If one is forgettable, the next one is memorable.
And this is no exception: if the previous statement was boring, this one is huge. Honestly, I didn’t expect Jane Prentiss’ statement now… and I definitely didn’t expect it to be like that! I think this is the most captivating statement so far and not just because of its content, but especially because It’s different, both in style and structure.
It’s different in style because if all other statements have this problem of sounding all very similar to each other (and not because Jon reads them, but because the vocabulary and the stylistic choices are the same, no matter if the statement comes from a student, a criminal, or an old guy), this one has its own voice: Jane Prentiss’ voice. This writing style is unique to her and to her only.
And it’s different in structure because, unlike all others, this isn’t an account of events but rather a stream of consciousness, that offers us a wonderful insight into Jane’s mind and feelings.
And, at least in my case, it made me think about a couple of things:
*
1) The humanity in the supernatural
Until now I saw Jane just as another supernatural creature, detached from us and from any other human being. She isn’t like us. She is clearly alien to humankind. She is something else.
But here, we see her being a human, just like all of us. She is fearful, doubtful, scared. Just like any of us would be. She has conflicted feelings: she wants a connection with the hive, she feels it’s the right thing to do. But she’s also very scared. It’s so simple and yet, it conveys her humanity so well.
Especially because she does what everyone else would do: she searches for help.
*
2) Prey or predator?
It’s very interesting that Jane decided to go to the Institute to ask for help. Until now, we have seen a lot of people going to the Institute to record statements - in some cases, even right after something happened. In a way, it’s as if they all subconsciously feel like it’s the best thing to do. As if the Institute can “protect” them from whatever they met. As if, by giving their stories to the Institute, they have an “immunity” from the danger.
If my theory is correct (i.e. the Institute hides the scariest supernatural shit of them all), then Jane went to the Institute because she subconsciously knew the thing hidden inside it was more powerful than the hive. So she did what prey do: they hide behind a bigger predator.
But Jane isn’t a simple prey anymore: she is becoming a predator. She is connecting with the predator. So she can see further than a prey and recognize the real prey:
Tumblr media
This part is wonderful, because I can perfectly picture the scene in my mind. I can see Gertrude Robinson giving Jane a pen and paper, then leaving. I can see Jane looking at Gertrude through the glass. I can see her gaze. It’s so powerful and stylistically perfect. 10/10, Love it.
*
3) Food or connection?
Another element that caught my interest is how Jane always refers to “the song” the hive sings: a song that talks to her, reassures her (“Sings that I am beautiful”) and promises her good things (“I can be consumed by what loves me”).
But do you know what this song doesn’t do? It doesn’t lie. It doesn’t lure Jane into a sense of false security. On the contrary: even if the song tells her good things, Jane is still scared and full of doubts, to the point she asks for help.
That's strange, isn't it? If the hive just wanted to eat/consume Jane, then why scare her? Why give her the understanding that something awful would happen and that she would take part in the violence? Why didn’t the hive sing just to deceive her? It could’ve just sung that she was beautiful and perfect and they would’ve been happy together forever.
But no, the hive’s song was honest. It was a song that helped her understand the hive.
Hence why I don’t think the hive ever wanted to hurt Jane. On the contrary: the hive wanted to find someone receptive enough to “resonate” and “understand” it.
*
4) All other supernatural shits
If I am right and all the hive wanted was to find a human being who better resonated with it… then was it trying to do the same with every human being it “latched to”? Was it trying to do the same with the girl from MAG 6? And with Timothy Hodge?
In MAG 26, Michael said that “the flesh-hive was always rash”: is it because the hive latches to human beings without truly connecting with them as it did with Jane?
But also: if this is what the hive tries to do… is this what every other supernatural shit tries to do too? Is every supernatural shit “singing a song” and trying to find the human being who will better resonate with them?
And if this is what they’re doing, then how many of the previous statements I read were not just recordings of weird events, but actual attempts to connect? Is this what Simon Fairchild tried to do with Robert in MAG 21? Is this what the supernatural shit in the Institute tried to do with Gertrude Robinson? Is this why she died? Because she didn’t connect with it? Is this the “Archivist’s crimson fate”? A sort of test to see if the Archivist can resonate with the supernatural creature in the Institute?
*
5) These little shits have names!
If this one is called “the hive”, then I suppose everyone has names. Micheal already has a name, but considering the MAG’s name is “A Distortion” I suppose his name is… idk, Mr. Distortion? That’s kinda funny, but I prefer Michael: it better shows how much of a good boyo he is.

MAG 33 - Boatswain’s Call
Mh, there’s a lot of interesting stuff here.
First of all, we have Tim. Hi, Tim! Glad to know you’re the organized guy here.
This, again, makes me think: this series started with Jon being all like “This place is a mess, I’m here to organize everything and put some order”. But now we find out Jon made a shit ton of mistakes. Very weird, coming from the guy who talked so big about being precise and organized.
So now my question is: was it done on purpose by TMA’s author? Were the mistakes intended to be there? I’ll admit it, I didn’t notice them because I suck with dates and numbers, especially if they have no sense like the case numbers (by the way, I appreciate the explanation, because I thought they were just random numbers).
If these mistakes were made on purpose, then it was a clever writer's choice, because it showed us more about Jon as a character. Now we know he’s not as perfect as he seemed. He can make mistakes. He can be faulty. And being faulty is what makes a character more real, so extra points for that.
However, these mistakes made me think about something else: what if they are proof that Jon isn’t as qualified for his job as he seemed? I mean, Tim looks like a more proper Head Archivist to me: accurate, detail-oriented and with a good memory. Still, it was Jon who got this promotion.
Before MAG 32, I would have joked about Elias being so useless as head of the Institute to hire the less qualified candidate, but now, there could be another reason why Elias chose Jon despite (probably) more competent people. Maybe it’s because Jon has something that can better resonate with the supernatural shit in the Institute.
Ah, so Martin is so scared by the worms to show his tongue to Tim all the time and asks if “it’s infested”. Nice try, bro, next time tell him that you’re oh-so-very-infested and only a French kiss will save you.
O-oh, so this statement features another member of the creepiest family of all time: Peter Lukas. Is he Evan Lukas’ dad, uncle or grandpa?
And, again, the Lukas family appears associated with a fog. Is the fog a supernatural shit? After all, weird things happened in the fog with Naomi too, so maybe it really is the fog.
Also because the fog kinda ate Sean Kelly. Just like the tomb at the cemetery in the fog tried to “eat” Naomi. It’s also very interesting that the third mate refers to this event as “a hard choice”, as if they were forced to feed someone to the fog.
Is this how this supernatural shit in particular works? It needs to be fed? Well, after all, I think that the supernatural shit in the Institute needs to be fed too, so maybe that’s another aspect of these things. Just like they need a human to resonate with, they also need to eat. I really want to know more about them.
One last thing: Elias “gets very twitchy when we look into anything that might conceivably have funding repercussions”. I’m starting to think he gets “very twitchy” not because of money, but because he knows something/he’s in cahoots with the Lukas family and doesn’t want anyone to look too much into them. I want to know more about this guy, he’s just too suspicious at this point.

MAG 34 - Anatomy Class
This statement was weird.
I immediately noticed something was wrong with these names, mostly because I knew John Doe is the placeholder name usually used to refer to dead people whose identity is unknown. I searched for Erika Mustermann and found out it was another placeholder too. So I asked myself: what if all of them are placeholders? It was extremely satisfying to find them all.
And it was great from a writing perspective too, because it perfectly explains why Dr. Elliott doesn’t remember what these guys look like: it’s because they’re all unknown. And since these names are usually used for dead people, it also explains why they’re all very silent and soulless.
I also really liked the idea of them “adjusting their bones” and asking simple questions, because it plays around the concept of “unknown figures” who are trying to look human/alive by asking things and trying to “replicate” them.
It’s a great idea, so the statement should be great too. But it’s not. It’s barely interesting. And I don’t know why, but it’s just… okay.
However, I would give a point for the heart lesson, because it was hilarious. Just imagine, a class with seven creepy figures, each of them with a beating heart in their hand, spraying blood everywhere, trying to look as scary as possible… and Dr. Elliott just points at one heart, then leaves. It was very silly and it made me smile.
Speaking of the apple: it’s weird, fine, but it’s just an apple with teeth. Again, not creepy enough to get my interest.

MAG 35 - Old Passages
“He was dressed all in black, with heavy looking boots and a T-shirt with the logo of some band emblazoned on it”
One sentence and I just knew it was him. My man, the searcher of Leitner’s books, the rebel goth/punk of my heart. The man who just appears and deals with the shit, because mommy “knows everything of this stuff”, but she clearly taught him everything too.
And, since my man Gerard is back, my other favorite man is here too: Jurgen Leitner, aka the menace for mankind. Of course he’s from Norway, I can bet everything he’s from Alesund and he probably looked the supernatural shit of the Institute in the eyes and this is why he has this weird power of creating creepy books. I love him too.
Also, how hilarious it is, to see this man being all like: “Sure, sure, I have all the permits you want, just dig a goddamn hole in my office. What? Do you still want to talk to the owner of the building? But I have everything! Listen, you don’t deserve explanations, powerful shits are working in the back. Okay, you know what? Fuck you in Norwegian”. My man Leitner has business to do and chaos to spread, how dare they stop him from doing his job.
I also loved how Gerard apparently has a sixth sense about where to find Leitner’s books. Or he can smell them like a dog. Still love him.
So today's Learner book was hidden in the shadows and little bones fall from it while Gerard runs away with it. Mmmh, where have I heard something similar?
“Mary Keay took the book back from me and passed it through the shadows once again. More bones fell.” (MAG 4)
So that’s how Gerard found it. He stole it from… Leitner’s weird hidden library or whatever? What an absolute boss: he went, took the book and vanished with some weird magic. I love this rebel boy.
And in the end, even more familiar people: Breekon and Hope deliveries are back! And they have voices! And they talk in the creepiest possible way, almost overlapping the end of Breekon’s sentences with the beginning of Hope’s. And there’s a package for Jon.
How much are you gonna bet that it’s more silver worms? I can almost hear them crawling inside that box, ready to jump on him. Gosh, I really hope that I’m wrong. But in any case, please, do not open the package. If MAG 2 taught us something is: do not open the weird shit delivered at your door.
_______________________________
MAG 36 - Taken Ill
Another okay statement about a weird illness that takes control of a building, the obligatory Guy Who Doesn’t Exist (John Amherst, in this case) and lots of dead people.
But hey, we have something very interesting here: an old man and a young woman with a deep scar over her right eye. Who are these two? And why did Jon immediately think about Trevor Herbert, the Vampire killer from MAG 10? Could it be that he’s alive somehow? Well, I won’t be too surprised: after all, I think Gerard is alive too, so why couldn’t Trevor be alive as well?
And since we’re fishing people & stuff from previous statements, what better way to end this one, if not with more connections? As soon as Tim said they got a table, I KNEW it was the one from MAG 3. I asked for it to come back, and here it is: my beautiful table with the missing piece.
While speaking of the Zippo with the spider web design, there are two possibilities:
the Zippo is a reference to Spider Mom from MAG 16
the Zippo has been delivered by the spider lady I vaguely remember. And that means she will come soon. And if it’s true, can’t wait to meet her.
_______________________________
MAG 37 - Burnt Offering
Well, Jon, if Elias told you to burn the damn table, you burn the damn table. If even this guy, who is suspicious AF tells you to get rid of it, you do it without a second thought.
But nooo, let’s “preserve the knowledge”, “self-preservation is overrated” and “Andorra isn’t a nice place to live”. Goddamit Jon, don’t make me enter the story and throw you out of this Institute.
Speaking of the statement itself, it would just be “guy finds a random circle in the woods and suffers the consequences”, if it wasn’t for two details that caught me by surprise.
The first is that despite Jason North’s concern, it wasn’t his son Ethan North to die, but Jason himself. I wasn’t expecting this, I almost expected Jon to say that “oh look, this poor alcoholic took the life of his son”.
The second thing is, of course, Gertrude Robinson’s photo in that weird ritual circle. Why was her photo there? Who put it there? How many supernatural shits were messing with her? I thought it was just the one in the Institute… but this circle? Really, I don’t know what to think :/
_______________________________
MAG 38 - Lost and Found
I vaguely remembered the name Salesa because it was just too weird to go unnoticed and I was right: he’s the same guy from MAG 14. And if Gerard can smell Leitner’s books, Salesa seems to have the same power of attracting weird supernatural shit.
Also, he has “several crates packed to the brim with heavy-looking volumes” and I can bet everything that in these crates there are at least a couple of Leitner’s books, waiting for their chance to spread chaos in the world as their author intended.
Speaking of the statement, the idea that a supernatural creature lives inside the vase and steals stuff from whoever owns said vase is pretty funny. In the end, it literally said: “Jeez, fine, take back your book and your shoes. I’ll steal yo husband instead”. Adorably stupid, it put a smile on my face.
what an ending! First the epic return of Spider Mom or one of her friends, then Jane Prentiss’ worms: there are too many creatures in this Institute and they’re not cute at all. Gosh, I hope Jon and the gang are all okay.
_______________________________
MAG 39 - Infestation
All the stuff that happened here. ALL THE STUFF THAT HAPPENED HERE.
Let’s take one thing at the time:
*
Martin is insane (and yet, perfectly IC)
This man spent his time in the Archives analyzing how the worms were moving and the angle and the speed, trying to find out the best weapon to get rid of them. He’s insane.
But you know what? It’s actually coherent with what we saw from Martin until now: he is an anxious guy, he overthinks stuff and he has no self-preservation instinct at all. It’s not so strange that he kept thinking about the worms and tried to find weapons to protect himself - and using them too.
*
Jon and skepticism
I’ve spent my previous post repeating that everyone had to leave this godforsaken Institute asap, but I was still accepting them not doing it because I know it’s necessary to suspend my disbelief for a while, in order to enjoy a story.
However, since the author of this series is a competent writer, he knows insufferable readers (like me) will probably question why these lovable idiots are still in the Institute and find it annoying/boring/clichè too.
So, he provided an answer. An answer that:
shed some lights on Jon’s character
is coherent with what we know about him until now
Now, I understand why Jon kept recording statements despite all the weird shit happening around him. Now I know and I understand. He’s not doing it because he’s blinded by skepticism: he’s doing it because he wants to know what happened to Gertrude and because he doesn’t want to leave a mystery behind. If he dies, he wants other people to know.
And yes, this is coherent with what we saw until now! Just think about it: at the end of every goddamn statement, Jon always tried to add evidence and make some research: he always tried to bring something real, concrete, tangible. Something that would prove these statements are not just shapeless words.
Speaking more about skepticism: I love that someone finally addressed Jon about it and I love it was Martin, who has proved to be much more prone to believe in the supernatural.
And I love Jon’s answer. Again, it’s very realistic: they have a storage full of supernatural shit, of course Jon believes it’s real. They have actual tangible proof.
So he pretends skepticism. And he has a very valid reason to do it.
*
The supernatural shit in the Institute is watching
Tumblr media
Now I am 200% sure that Jon is actually being watched. There are too many eyes in this series to be a coincidence and I’m starting to think they all belong to whatever supernatural shit is hidden in this place. That thing watches Jon and it probably “possesses” him or similar considering he “loses himself a bit” whenever he reads and I LOVE LOVE LOVE he mentioned it, because I noticed how Jon was getting too much involved every time he read, but I didn’t say anything.
One example? MAG 38:
“I’ve been in the antiques business for a long time. It’s not what it used to be. [Nervous chuckle] I’m sorry, I know.”
This statement isn’t being recorded by the person involved, Jon is reading it. But the nervous chuckle isn’t something someone who is reading would do: this is a reaction someone who is speaking would have. Someone who is telling their story.
When I listened to it, I immediately found it a very odd detail and I thought it was just a writing mistake from the author. But now, I find out it was made on purpose.
TMA’s author is more competent than I thought.
*
Jon and Martin are the best couple
Tumblr media
They’re already bickering like an old couple. I love them. And yes, I’ve decided to ship them. Don’t care if they don’t end up together, still ship these two.
*
“Real statements”
Jon’s words about the real statements are extremely enlightening and, again, they make the whole series much more realistic.
Until now, I supposed Jon is just a vintage guy who likes to record stuff on a tape recorder because it was more fitting with the atmosphere of “uuuh, old Archive” and because there was no Internet connection at all. Sure, in MAG 1 Jon talked about bringing a laptop, but he also said: “I believe the first computer to ever enter this room is the laptop that I brought in today.” So I simply assumed this place hadn’t a connection. After all, we’re talking about an old place: it’s plausible there’s no Internet.
But now, we have a much better explanation about why Jon uses a tape recorder! And it’s because of the nature of the statements themselves. Only the real ones can be recorded on tape.
I was very pleasantly surprised when Jon said: “Of the hundreds I’ve recorded, we’ve had maybe... thirty, forty that go on tape.”. Not only it’s much more realistic that, in all these months, he didn’t record 38 statements only, but hundreds, but it’s much more immersive too: we are not listening to all the useless pile of stuff, we are listening to the “selected” material.
*
Tim is my new favorite character
Tumblr media
Tim is the best character. Sorry Gerard, sorry Leitner, sorry Michael: as soon as Tim did this, I fell in love. He’s a wonderful idiot and he deserves the world <3
*
Martin and Jon are the best couple part 2
Tumblr media
They are the best couple, period.
*
A lighter?!
Sasha needs a lighter? I know one, I know one! the spider Zippo! Use that one! Will someone use it? I hope that.
*
Elias is finally here
Finally, Elias decided to show up. Thank you, Elias, for honoring us with your presence. Where have you been until now? To the Suspicious Guys Anonymous Club?
I mean, just look at how he expresses his concern: his new Head Archivist is trapped with most of his staff and they will probably die if he and Sasha don’t do anything, it’s a dangerous situation, they should do something immediately… and his main concern is that he doesn’t really want to find another Archivist so soon.
Wow, a man who truly values human life, now I definitely trust him, yes sure.
Tumblr media
Tim is the best character
Tumblr media
I love how Tim casually addresses being surrounded by death, before tripping on a shit ton of gas cans Martin hid “from the worms”. The beautiful clash between Martin’s insanity and Tim being the best character <3
I also love how he just… pulled down his pants? To make them check if he was bitten?
Tim is the best character, period. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
*
WHAT THE FUCK
So Sasha found the table from MAG 3… then Not!Sasha found her.
What.
The.
Actual.
Fuck.
Is… is Sasha alive? Is she dead? Where is she?!
*
Final showdown!
Jon VS Jane Prentiss. I didn’t know I needed this fight, until I reached the end of this recording.
I am ready.
_______________________________
MAG 40 - Human Remains
Wow. What a ride has it been.
So, let’s examine every statement:
Elias: he’s still the most suspicious guy ever but you know what? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. Show me your innocence, Elias. Show me you’re a good guy.
I mean, he seems surprised about the discovery of Gertrude Robinson’s body. And he seems to know nothing more aside from “Gertrude wasn’t there and her desk was covered in blood”. Let’s see how innocent he is.
Tim: my new favorite boy got attacked by the goddamn worms, even though he did some pretty cool stunts. But he also said something very interesting about them: it’s as if there is something in the Institute that makes them “sluggish”. Yes, I’m pretty sure that it’s the supernatural shit of the Institute that did that.
Also, the worms tried to make a doorway for a weird room hidden in these passages? What? How? I don’t think I understand, but my explanation is still the same: the goddamn supernatural shit of the Institute. All its fault.
Sasha: if my boy Tim got hurt, at least he’s still alive and in one piece. Can’t say the same about Sasha. Where are you, Sasha? Have you completely been replaced by Not!Sasha? Where did you hide her, you impostor?
Also, Not!Sasha literally called Michael “Yes, Michael... With the bones in his hands.”. So that’s basically a confirmation that he really is the one mentioned in MAG 8. And she said: “We still don’t know much about him, do we?” which, translated from author-to-reader means “Michael will come in season 2 and we will learn about him”. Yes, please, more of my Best Boyo.
Martin: poor Martin, he really REALLY doesn’t deserve any of this shit. He needs a proper vacation, away from all this shit, where there are no worms and no problems. My offer still stands: Andorra is still a beautiful place to live.
Vacation aside, just how many goddamn rooms are hidden here? Tim found a room, Martin found a room, if we’re not careful we will find 200 rooms hidden everywhere.
And in this room, here she is: Gertrude Robinson. And she’s not dead because the supernatural shit in the Institute ate her, not because some other shit sucked her blood or made something else. She has been shot. Just shot. Three times in the chest. It was a goddamn execution.
Welp, sorry Elias, you had your chance. I can already see you with the gun in your hand, pointing it at Gertrude. It was you, you goddamn suspicious man. I know it was you.
Jonathan: so, some tapes have been stolen. What a coincidence, they are the tapes of MAG 24 “Strange Music” and MAG 26 “A Distortion”. What a coincidence, they’re the only two tapes in which Sasha talks. Wow, I wonder why these two tapes in particular disappeared, I wonder who made them disappear…
Not!Sasha, I know it was you. Everyone knows it was you.
And Jon, instead of being satisfied with this resolution of Gertrude’s “case”, he’s even more determined to get to the bottom of this.
“I’m going to figure this out, and I’m not going to stop. They’ll have to kill me first.”
Just… don’t tease them, Jon. whoever is behind all of this (read: Elias and the Lukas family) I doubt they would think twice before shooting you in the chest like they did with Gertrude. Don’t test your luck too much.
_______________________________
In conclusion
Update on my theory about the supernatural shit in the Institute:
This shit (which I will call “Big Brother” for obvious reasons) is watching everything. The Lukas family brought it from Norway and uses the Institute as a “feeder” to feed it. Gertrude Robinson, as Head Archivist, was supposed to be “tested” and see if she resonated with it, to become… I don’t know, Big Brother’s new body or something similar.
But before the right time came, she found out what Elias/the Lukas family wanted to do. And she tried to defy them/escape from her fate. First, they tried to get rid of her in some magic other way (like the ritual circle from MAG 37), but when they somehow failed (maybe Gertrude had someone protecting her, just like Jon seems to have some “protectors”), they resorted to a good old gun and bam, problem solved.
And yes, I’m sure it was Elias who shot her.
So, since Gertrude was dead, Elias & the Lukas family decided to just feed the rest of the staff to the supernatural shit and find a new Head Archivist that will resonate with Big Brother and, hopefully, become its new body.
Jane Prentiss was somehow okay with Big Brother - or just with the idea of bringing more violence. While Michael wants to protect Jon. And same goes for the Spiders Gang, which includes the spider lady I remember and Spider Mom - who I think are the same person. Maybe the lady can turn into a spider, why not?
And since I’m speaking of turning into other things, I have a theory on Michael. Since TMA’s author seems very competent and creative, I want to give him more credit. Hence, I believe there is a reason why this season has been packed with a lot of people named Michael. And no, I don’t think the reason is a sudden lack of creativity - especially coming from a guy who invented a ton of different stories and names. I think there’s a reason if all these guys are named Michael and the reason is that these Michaels are all the same Michael: Michael the Supernatural Shit.
After all, this Michael can warp/twist/change his bones and (probably) body too, so would it be so impossible that all the random Michaels in several MAGs were always him, just with a different appearance?
One last thing: my impression about the series until now is still positive. This first season served as a introduction to the characters, the mysteries and the structure of the series itself and did its job very well. There’s a closed ending with the resolution of Jane Prentiss’ mystery and we find out how Gertrude died too. But there are also enough open questions to keep you involved: what really happened  to Gertrude? What is the Institute hiding? What about Michael? What about all the other mysteries?
Sure, not all statements are perfect and the writing isn’t perfect either - and it’s a shame, because considering all these statements come from different people, it would’ve been a great writing exercise to give a different voice to each of them.
However, I’m not too critical of this. Mr. Sims (TMA’s author, not the character) wrote 40 statements each with its own kind of horror/mystery and they are all connected to the main story that will develop throughout 5 seasons. That’s A LOT of work: expecting perfect writing from each statement would be unattainable and, from my side, unreasonable.
What’s more important, for me, it’s the attention to details and boy, there’s A LOT of it. When I started this series (and like I do every time I start something), I didn’t give any trust to its author: it’s too easy to find sloppy works made without any care, than find something meticulously organized.
With these 40 statements, Mr. Sims is proving to me that he has a vision, a big picture and that he knows how to put it into words. There is love and care, there is attention, coherence and internal logic.
Hence why, now I want to give him more credit. And with that, my expectations are rising as well: first I just wanted something good, now I want backstories. Why? Because backstories explain the present. Decisions, personalities, events even: all can be explained with a logical, coherent background.
Let’s see if Mr. Sims really thought about everything ;)
So, one season done, four more to go. How many things will happen? Will Sasha ever come back? Will Elias stop being suspicious for five minutes? Will Martin take a vacation? Will Jon survive all of this? And what about my favourite boys? Will they come back too?
I am hyped for season 2 and ready to start, so I’ll surely be back in a week with more posts.
>> Next post
(How about a coffee? ☕)

Hi, I don’t remember if we did, but was there an explanation in your demon au fic for why Clarke was special and could see the things no one else could? Like when Lexa punched Finn, etc? Just finished reading it and I love it so much, I wish there was more but the ending was so perfect 💞
Yeah there's a couple simple reasons that work in tandem! But also an overall reaction that wasn't outright stated in the fic because, given the characters and the circumstances, neither would want to question the bigger picture "why" of it all. It's hard to explain but I'll do my best 😅
The first surface level reason being that over time Lexa just doesn't "cloak" herself to Clarke the way she does other people. She allows Clarke to see her more as she is, and had been slowly opening herself up more and more since the first day she walked through the office and felt Clarke's attraction to her. It was exhilarating and fascinating and entirely too fun to see this supposedly innocent and light person trying so hard to maintain this disdain and faux disinterest in everything about her, when in reality she spent the better part of every day watching Lexa bounce her ass all over the office while Lexa could literally feel it.
The other reason being - and this very much works together with the first point - that she simply could not cloak herself like she could everyone else. Even when she was genuinely trying to be innocuous, Clarke clocked her ass from day one. So while she could make it so Clarke didn't see her overt actions, she could feel and sense the darker pieces of Lexa unlike other people. Even if it was only in instincts and vague misgivings, she knew that Lexa was not what she seemed. So to Lexa it was all kind of a mute point because no matter what she did, Clarke still wasn't fooled by any of it. So why try that hard? Why not give in to her own curiosity? Her own desires that were so new to her? Why not reach out and open herself up to the one person who has ever even begun to see Lexa as she truly is?
Now, this being the mirror to CoA, why do you think Clarke was able to cut through the haze of Lexa's bullshit and see her? Why do you think Clarke was immune to the veil of Lexa's inner truth? Given that this story is the other side of the Angel Lexa coin, why do you think Lexa was drawn to Clarke when never in the history of the entire world had she ever felt drawn to any human?

The Clergy’s Eye employees/monsters ranked on how much I’d trust them to watch my cat Emma! I apologize if I misspell names or if I forget someone
For context: I wouldn’t be the Admin, and personality wise Emma is sorta like a dog. She actually likes playing in water, and she follows me around a lot. She is a hunter though
TLDR to start off
NO: Vinnel, Magus+Glauk, Krulu, Sybastian, Hellion
Its not that I don’t trust them, it’s that I don’t trust her: Morrel, Patches, The Bobbles (excluding Agner), The Cleric, Colmei, Gallon
Sure, why not?: Agner, Santi, Pebbles, Nebul
The best options: Fank-E, Grimbly, Belo
Now for specific reasonings!
Vinnel: Whether or not Vinnel is good at it, doesn’t matter (though I doubt he’d be great) I’m sorry Pinnie, I just hate Vinnel and want to spend as little time around him as possible
Magus and Glauk: Do I even need to explain? I mean she likes water but come on. I’d be better off leaving her to fend for herself
Krulu: He’d likely thing the task “beneath him” Unlike the previous ranking, though, I would consider him if he was the only option.
Sybastian: Sorta between “NO” and “Not that I don’t trust them, I don’t trust her” in that I don’t think he’d be all that good at caring for her needs, but also she might try and hunt the mimiclings which NOBODY wants to see the aftermath of.
Hellion: Yeah no I just don’t trust him
Morrel: I think he’d have enough self control to not do anything bad to her, but Emma? Listen she’s not a very bitey cat but you can never be too sure. And she is MUCH more likely to break skin than a human. Even if she doesn’t bite him and get poisoned, she’d still mess with the bobbles and knock over stuff in the kitchen and steal food. I care about Emma too much and I respect Morrel too much to put her in his care.
Patches: She’d just get in the way. Best case scenario she’d be sleeping in a spare pumpkin but let’s be honest she’s probably tormenting the bobbles.
Speaking of Bobbles..: No. She’d try and kill them.
The Cleric: They have bigger things to focus on. Plus she’d probably get tangled in the strings soo..
Colmei: If it weren’t for the bees, he’d go in the “Sure, why not?” category. But Emma HAS stuck her paw down a hornet nest before. Don’t trust her.
Gallon: She’d be a menace. Knocking over bottles, getting cat hair everywhere, stealing sips from drinks, getting caught in the goop a couple times. Not a fun experience and I respect Gallon too much for that.
Agner: Nothing notable to say! I think he’d do a decent job.
Santi: As long as he’d not feeding (don’t want to traumatize her or have him and whoever he’s fucking get stared at by a cat) I think he could do a good job!
Pebbles: Nothing notable to say, once again. I think it’d be cute though.
Nebul: Long as he can keep her chill and away from the products, I think it’d turn out well. Maybe he’d had to tell Purpur to be careful with her though. Give the “pets for sale” a little serotonin to brighten their day.
Fank-E: Omg I would get SO MANY cute silly pictures by the end of it!!! Probably make like ten more viral memes with her, get her internet famous. I would have to make sure he doesn’t dye her pink or something though.
Grimbly: I think he would LOVE her, as long as he’s on break. Pretty bows and glitter galore. Just uh, try not to get TOO much glitter on her, don’t want her to get sick. Maybe make it edible glitter for when she grooms her fur.
Belo: The best of the best and my first choice! I mean, cuddling with an angel already has to be an amazing experience, but a FLUFFY ANGEL? I think he would be determined to take good care of her too! Plus, they say cats can sense vibes, and I mean, considering everyone else Belo probably would have half decent vibes.
So that’s my ranking! Signing off

To be fair, I agree with most of these too.
Except Pebble and Fank-e, for similar reasons.
Pebble is too nervous. Animals sense that nervous energy and they generally don't like it. I think your cat may react aggressively or negatively in general based on that. And, at the first hint of aggression, Pebble is putting distance between himself and the feline. He might even lose her.
Fank-e is an animal repellent. He's very LOUD, makes odd sounds, probably smells like all sorts of artificial products that are awful to a cat's nose, and he's hyper. He'd love to spend time with your cat, but to her, he's probably the equivalent of a blaring alarm on two legs.

This gives me too much power. Anyway I've squandered it <3
Bucky was a wolf, once upon a time, he thinks. Brown, with yellow eyes. Normal, his mind supplies when he thinks about it too long. Then Hydra had... done something to him. Made him feral. He couldn't recognize himself in reflections. Had stopped looking. White fur. Blue eyes--unnatural for a wolf. Somehow, they'd made the metal arm shift with him, and it stood, ugly and violating, finishing the picture of Wrong and Bad. Disgusting. He doesn't shift, even though the rest of the Avengers insist that it's fine. He doesn't feel safe. Doesn't want to be looked at. He's damaged. He doesn't want to be vulnerable in front of them. He has the ability not to be vulnerable in front of him, unlike he had when he was with Hydra. The only one with a problem about it is Steve, and to be fair, Bucky only knows that because he found him stoically telling his therapist that just because he understood it didn't mean it didn't hurt him that the Bucky he knew was well and truly gone. Bucky had heard the therapist say, "Well, put yourself in your friend's shoes," and had walked over and gently closed the laptop, because Steve had the right to be hurt and he never wanted anyone to be in his shoes.
For all that Bucky avoids it, Tony is a total slut for being in his bobcat form. He especially likes finding a lap to sprawl out in, as if he was a house cat. One time, he'd been asleep on top of the fridge in the kitchen, Bucky and Steve had sat down in the living room to watch a Mets game, and the only warning they had Tony was coming was the THUMP of fourteen pounds hitting the ground. Then Tony, without any of the typical feline finesse, thundered into the living room to see his choice of laps. He'd taken one look at the TV, made a noise that Bucky could only describe as a feline version of disdain, and then hopped up onto Bucky's lap, turned in a delicate circle, and promptly flopped over and passed out. Bucky still contends that Steve should have warned him that instead of just getting off like a normal person when the people he was sleeping on stood up to cheer a home run, Tony dug his claws in to attach himself to people's pants. The noise he had let out in response had made Tony bush up to twice his size and do an arched side-step. Then Tony had looked betrayed as he skittered back to the kitchen. Bucky still feels like he kicked a kitten, and all he did was make a noise of pain.
The rest of the Avengers shift for convenience. Steve, a grizzly, feels even larger and more cumbersome than in his serumed body, so he avoids it as much as possible. Clint, a hawk, mostly shifts when he wants to be annoying and dive-bombs everyone. Bruce avoids shifting, mostly because as a moose, his antlers get caught on things; he'll shift when his antlers shed, though, and certain Avengers (Tony and Clint) enjoy sitting between his ears and being tall. Natasha doesn't shift often, mostly because she likes to keep her shift a secret. Most people assume she's a fox. Only the people she really trusts know that she's a swan. Thor, well. He doesn't have a shifted form, although he assures them that he could probably use magic to shift if he ever had to. "Loki turned himself into a horse once," he'd said, and then made a face, and then didn't say anything else about it. Tony howls about how NO ONE SHIFTS AROUND HIM. He is LONELY. He wants to CUDDLE. "I thought bobcats were solitary," Clint says, like an idiot. "I'm NOT a bobcat," Tony howls. "I am a HUMAN who TURNS INTO ONE. Everyone except Clint is BIGGER THAN ME and I DESERVE TO USE YOU AS A BED." "Tony what the fuck," Steve says as Bucky, Natasha, Bruce, and Thor try to smother their laughter, lest they encourage him. "You're so dramatic, shut up." "Does that mean I get to use you as a bed?" Clint asks, and Tony immediately shouts, "OBVIOUSLY, CLINT," in response.
Bucky didn't know that Colonel Rhodes was a wolf, too. He finds out when he goes into the common room and Jim growls, like it's coming from low in his chest. Bucky drops before he even really registers what he's hearing, showing off his belly and whining anxiously. He doesn't notice he's shifted, either, until Jim looms, green-eyed and dark-furred, hackles up and teeth bared. Bucky flashes the hair on his belly, whining, surrendering, terrified. Then Tony lands between them with a heavy thud, arching his back and hissing and spitting at Jim. He dances back and forth on his paws, lunging in and then back out. He swats Jim on the muzzle with his paw. It connects with an almost comical thud. He and Jim stare at each other, both of them looking half astounded, half offended, as if they couldn't believe they'd gotten into an altercation. Then Tony lets out a yowl and starts beating the shit out of Jim (without claws, if the baff-baff-baff of his heavily furred toes hitting flesh is any indication) and Jim snarls and barks and whacks him with his own paws. Bucky shifts back into a human and rolls so his back is facing them, hands clapped over his mouth to try and muffle his laughter. It reminded him of the last time he'd witnessed an argument between them, as humans, where they'd gotten into a slap fight that eventually ended with Jim sitting on top of Tony and shouting about the advantages of nuclear fission while Tony bit on his leg. He hopes he can get JARVIS to send the video to everyone else before either of them realized he would.
"Listen, Barnes," Jim says. "I'm really sorry for what happened yesterday. I get territorial after being away from Tony for extended periods, but that's no excuse. One of us should have warned you, or--I should have better control of myself. Tony told me you don't like to shift, so. I'm sorry I forced it." "That's weird," Bucky says, instead of 'thank you' or even 'it's okay.' "Tony's weird," Jim replies, and Bucky shrugs, conceding. "Also fuck you for sending the video of our fight to everyone." "I deserved it," Bucky answers immediately, because he still shivers anxiously when he remembered Jim over him, teeth bared. "Yeah, okay," Jim sighs, and then opens his mouth to say something else. Then suddenly Tony is between them, bushy and arched again. Bucky stares at him, stunned. "Where did you come from?" "He was on the couch sulking because I wasn't a wolf so I could talk to you," Jim says, and then looks down at Tony, unimpressed. "Just say you want to fuck him, Tony." Tony lets out a yowl and starts beating the absolute shit out of Jim's left leg. "...Should I just," Bucky asks, sort of reaching down toward him. "Please," Jim sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. Bucky picks Tony up, and Tony immediately falls limp, purring. "Oh, you weren't just being an asshole." "Yeah, he's had the biggest crush on you," Jim huffs, amused. "Why do you think he's trying to get everyone to shift more? So he can make you jealous and get you to take him on your lap more." Bucky opens his mouth, but nothing comes out. Suddenly it explains why Tony ignores everyone else's laps when he sees Bucky in the living room, even when other people actively want him on their lap. "...You could have just said something," he finally manages. "Tony is a cat. He just expects you to know," Jim deadpans, and Bucky sighs, because yeah. That sounds just like a cat.

Letters From Home - Preview
Tumblr media
i promised a preview so. here it is. or maybe. a first chapter. maybe. i'm not promising anything.
Pairing: Tom Bennett x f!reader
WC: 800-ish words
TWs/Warnings: strong language, adult themes
Summary: Knitting for Victory has never been bigger and Tom gets a nice, cozy package from home.
Tumblr media
“Hey, look at this, lads!”
Tom’s head snaps up. Immediately, his lips curl into a smirk. One of the men has jumped up on a box of supplies, holding a paper in his left hand. With his right, he’s trying to ward off the poor sod who has just lost his picture. Tom can’t see what it is with all the waving about, but he’s almost entirely sure it’s a lady, maybe even a lady with very little clothing. Little else gets the men this worked up.
“Bennett, for you.”
Before he can react, a paper wrapped package has been placed in his lap. It looks almost like a wrapped Christmas gift, with the string that ties it together, and is no bigger than the Encyclopedias that Lois collected when she was younger.
“What’s this?” Tom glances down at the package and frowns at the handwriting. It’s nothing he recognizes and he can’t think of anyone who would want to send him something. Maybe his dad, but even that seems unlikely.
“Red Cross”, his superior explains. “Knitted socks and the like. You’re not the only one.”
Tom gives an appreciative hum and glances back down on the box. The handwriting is neat, neater than anything he could manage, and spells out his full name. To his own surprise, he runs his fingers across the letters, before he takes care to open it.
The box is filled to the brim. He finds not one, but two, pairs of navy blue socks. A matching pullover and hat, as well as a small box of hard candies in all sorts of colors. It feels strange to hold something so normal in his hands, and it reminds him of when he was smaller. His mother used to have them, he remembers, in a small tin box by the radio. She’d always give him and Lois one each, and let them pick between the fruit shaped ones.
“You got socks”, someone next to him complains, and the sigh is nothing if not envious. It makes Tom feel just a tad superior, and he immediately kicks his boots off, tears the old socks from his feet, and pulls the new pair on with a self-satisfied grin.
“I did”, he boasts. It’s all in good fun; now that the first few months have passed, there’s not as much fighting. Everyone has seen battle one too many times to spend any time asking for trouble, even Tom. “And they’re cozy.”
Everyone close enough to have heard laughs, and Tom takes the opportunity to make sure he hasn’t missed anything. He would hate to leave another tin of candies for the rats.
Tucked away in a corner of the box, he finds a letter. Again, with a handwriting he doesn’t recognize. Not the same as on the wrapper around the box, but something a little smaller and cleaner. He tears the envelope and is met by a sweet, light scent. It takes a moment too long to realize it must be perfume. It reminds him of the one Lois wears, and the thought makes his nose scrunch up. To take his mind off the rather unpleasant thought, he unfolds the letter.
Dear soldier,
When I’m writing this, I have no idea who you are. I might never know who you are. You, however, will know a little something about me when you’ve read this letter.
I’m the person who has made you the socks and the sweater. I hope you’ll find them useful and warm. The rationing has made it difficult to get a hold of yarn and I decided to unwind an old sweater of my father’s. I know he would much rather it be used by you.
I know our Navy must need as much as our Army, but if you have no use for two pairs of socks, perhaps you can give the second pair to a friend. I know the endless walking that the Army does tears the garments rather quickly, but two pairs might have been too much. I couldn’t help myself, when they said that the packages will be delivered to people who rarely, if ever, receive mail. I wanted you to know that there are people who think of you back home.
The candies are made in London and remind me of my childhood. I hope it brings back pleasant memories for you, as well.
I don’t know if people actually spray their letters with perfume, but I read it in a book once, and I thought it might lift your spirits. Pass it along and let the boys sniff it like a pair of used knickers, for all I care.
Write, if it would please you. I would love to hear if the clothes have come to use, and make sure that you’re safe. I will pray for your safe return and a quick end to the war.
Most love.
Tom flips the letter to find a name and an address.
“Mate, you got paper and a pen?”
