Daisies are considered a weed in Eridia— unsightly and tenacious as they cling to life, and they proliferate aggressively when left unchecked. Still, there are some who look forward to their arrival during warmer months, as daisies are a viable source of food for those left with little other option.

>> start the adventure! << || [masterpost] ||
while starstruck makes her merry way to the @kirbyoctournament, why not keep her company with some questions?
for the next month, as propaganda for the tourney, dream land's favourite little anxious amnesiac will be taking asks directly!
couple of little notes, suggestions, and rules!
though this is hopefully obvious, i don't guarantee i'll get to every ask or interaction! i'll do the best i can, but if i don't make it to yours, it's nothing personal! where possible these will be answered "in character" from tourney!starstruck, though you can still ask me tournament related things too! this is my first time trying "in character" asks, but i want to make one thing really clear: please no text rp. makes me incredibly uncomfortable. for plot consistency, this is set during her Present Timeline, and she knows as much about her own backstory as the average reader. has no idea who This Guy is. she has similarly not yet encountered the star spears or any weapon like them. questions can come from ocs, especially if they're in the tournament! i may not draw your oc in the response though. i probably won't respond to any "how are you" generic type deals because those will get hard to answer pretty much immediately. i am hoping to find some fun personality combos to riff off, so if you have an interesting interaction idea for our ocs, feel free to share! starstruck is Technically Romancable and OCs who are at least 25+ are totally welcome to make an attempt to flirt with her (pspsps evil lesbians especially if you're out there come say hi. any and all wings havers also), but remember she is dense as a pile of bricks. also please no nsfw.

The only thing more powerful than the Buffy writers' reluctance to give screentime to a woman over the age of thirty is the collective Buffy fandom's eagerness to seize on the slightest scrap of canon characterization as evidence that said thirty-plus-year old woman is some sort of monster.
The show: Willow Rosenberg likes spending time with her mother and does so willingly even after moving out (as we see, for example, in Forever) and her mother was keen to invite her high school boyfriend over for dinner to try to get to know him as soon as Willow admitted to her that he existed (at the end of Gingerbread) and her mother was fully accepting (literally "proud") of Willow when she came out as a lesbian (already implicit, but confirmed in The Killer In Me). Oh, but she has a full time job in academia and sometimes Willow wishes she paid her more attention (this despite the fact that Willow canonically does hide things from her all the time) and she doesn't always notice when Willow cuts her hair or properly remember her friends' names and she only met Willow's first girlfriend a few times.
The fandom: well, clearly Willow is as much a victim of parental abuse as Xander Harris or Amy Madison or Faith Lehane. This is a completely reasonable and proportionate conclusion to come to based on one on-screen appearance and some throwaway lines of dialogue.
I mean ... don't get me wrong. Shelia Rosenberg is not a good mother. She's not much more than a cardboard cutout, really. Less of a character than even Hank Summers, and that's saying something.
What she is, really, is the sort of lazy cliche you get in a lot of teen movies of the 1990s and 2000s (something which is true of Joyce Summers as well at times, only Sheila is permitted far less depth or screen presence or other redeeming features). She's a somewhat reactionary take on the idea of an adult woman who dares to have a professional career and therefore cannot "properly" attend to the needs of her children. A woman too busy focusing on the abstract (her academic study of "adolescent development") to care about the practical (the growing pains of her own teenage daughter).
(Get it? See, it's funny, because she's a woman with both a child and a career. What will those crazy feminists dream up next?)
As written, Willow's mother kind of sucks: not because she's a bad person but because she isn't written as a person at all. She's a joke, and not a good one.
But the weirdly popular idea On Here that Willow is somehow traumatized by having what is, by all accounts, a fairly ordinary and comfortable childhood is absurd. There is simply nothing in the text to support this.

What happens when your coworker kills your other coworker but both of you are in a relationship (kind of) with the same ethereal woman who had an admiration for said dead coworker.
+bonus Evandrey because it’s funny to me (I’m sorry Eva.)
Tumblr media
#pathologic#pathologic 2#andrey stamatin#yulia lyuricheva#eva yan#evandrey#yulieva#evaandrey#Eva yahn#Andrei Stamatin#see I think that Eva is very okay with Eva being how she is- promiscuous and spreading her love (Maybe a little jealous but more rooted in#self loathing and insecurities)#and she’s like look I’m okay with this whole open relationship (technically we aren’t in a relationship even though I really want to be)#thing BUT why HIM. I have to work with him and he’s by far the worst man I’ve ever worked with (besides maybe his brother because at least#Andrey actually talks but really they’re a package deal anyways) I need to have meetings with him often and it’s horrendous every time#like spread your love it’s noble really.#I wouldn’t expect anything else from you#but maybe give him less he’s annoying as hell#I also think that she’d figure out pretty quickly that Andrey and Peter killed Farkhad#just bcuz like. yk she’s there. she’s seen the already shaky relationship crumble beyond repair. she’s seen them argue in meetings.#she knows the stamatwins are not above murder. especially for art. and she’s clever.#And andrey knows that so he doesn’t try to hide it. she doesn’t have recourse anyways-#the kains (who I think helped cover up the murder) employ her too#and andrey respects her to a degree- he assumes she’ll see reason.#and honesty. Yulia might be upset that Andrey killed one of the only other architects but also she does not miss him that much.#she’s like I don’t agree with this whole murder thing but you are kind of right he had to go he was getting on my nerves#the meetings will be 10x more tolerable now that the twins can’t argue with him about things that aren’t even real#it’s awful but it did drive Eva further into my arms so necessary evils.#my art#sorry for the essay in the tags.

Oh not to say I don’t agree with her but the innocents she killed yeah…….
Oh absolutely. There's a reason she's a villain that got shot down. All versions of the story would see her killed at the end because her rage against her abusers got directed at innocent people. And humans always retaliate.

One of my friends is finally watching Lost (because I’ve talked about it nonstop and encouraged her to watch it), and she said that she’s at the part where Sayid just tortured my favorite man
Literally
“Claire is getting her memories back of what happened when she was taken, your favorite man has been tortured by Sayid and just now got interviewed by cop lady”
I was like, “how’d you know he’s my favorite?” And she just replied with this gif:

And then I replied with THIS gif:

She knows me so well.

Lalla Ward makes a brief appearance as Lady Augusta, intended bride to an ill-fated aristocrat, in A Ghost Story for Christmas: The Ash Tree (BBC, 1975)
#fave spotting#lalla ward#doctor who#a ghost story for christmas#the ash tree#1975#romana#romana ii#spoilers for the ash tree ig????#i mean it's pretty obvious from the outset that Ed Petherbridge's aristo is not in for a good time#i mean he's a Jamesian protagonist for one thing....#lalla had been acting since the beginning of the decade‚ with a fair number of one off appearances on tv and the odd film to her name#(most notably Hammer's Vampire Circus). she was still a few years off DW and genre immortality at this point#it isn't the most rewarding role; James (who i don't think many would argue that he wasn't a bit of a chauvinist) rarely featured#significant women characters in his work (a large number of them being academical in setting didn't help). actually the ash tree#is something of an outlier in that regard‚ as it does feature a significant female character in Mrs. Mothersole‚ but we can hardly consider#her a positive feminine presence... actually one of Lawrence Gordon Clark's regrets about this particular entry in the Ghost Story for#Christmas canon is the failure of him and writer David Rudkin to make a true villain of Mothersile; Clark felt that their shared sympathies#for the historical victims of witchhunting prevented them from capturing the 'evil' of the character (tho it's debatable how much James#himself intended her to be truly evil; this is just Clark's opinion after all‚ and fwiw i think Rudkin's greater complexity of the#character is more interesting‚ more believable and more appropriate)#i rambled. anyway yes‚ not a meaty role perhaps‚ but Lalla sinks her teeth in all the same and in just a few brief scenes successfully#creates a vivid and fully realised character‚ a charming and flirtatious fiancée with something of a rebellious streak#no ash tree post bc i made one the last time i watched it a couple of years ago

Bothers me so much that people get mad when you talk about how Matt Engarde was like. Subtextually? (as in. They certainly never go into it and it's not like the rest of the game takes the grooming of teenagers particularly seriously, see Regina) a victim of grooming and they call this Woobifying and being An Apologist like well do you think I think all of that would be a good excuse irl to call a hit and have someone my lawyer loves kidnapped so he has to defend me good? Having complex villains who are still making objectively evil choices informed by that complexity is just good storytelling. There's layers

anyone else a little weirded out by one of the first things sonia and rauru did was putting zelda in a little white maiden uwu dress even though the clothes she arrived in didnt seem damaged or dirty at all and fit her much better
(also that dress is way less practical for a battle against a super powered evil guy)
