woman crush wednesday pt 2 (previous part)
summary: you and paige finally go on the long awaited date
content warnings: none!
It had been three weeks since your first phone call with Paige and since then, it has become a nightly occurrence. Talking and giggling into the early hours until sleep eventually takes over. You have fallen asleep on FaceTime a few times too, waking in the morning to Paige silently getting ready for her day.
You both had busy schedules but they had finally aligned and Paige was coming into the city to see you for the first time. Even though you felt like you knew Paige decently well after hours of calls, you were still nervous. Meeting someone for the first time spiked your fight or flight. What if you wasnât how Paige had imagined you? What if seeing you in real life made her feel differently?
You settled your nerves with a small glass of wine as you got yourself ready. It was a crisp autumnal evening in New York City and you both had decided on getting a coffee from your favourite place and walking around Central Park would be perfect for your first date.
You and Paige were similar in the sense, you were both really simple girls. You enjoyed being home and didnât care for the lavish things in life. You were looking forward to just spending time with Paige, talking to her and being able to look in her eyes as she stood in front of you, rather than through a screen.
Paige was getting to your apartment at 5PM and it was almost that time so you applied a final layer of lip balm, a few spritz of your favourite perfume and readied yourself to leave.
Your phone vibrated in your pocket, Paige was here.
Your stomach fluttered as you rode the elevator down, you took in a few deep breaths and checked your reflection in the mirror. You had kept your outfit simple and makeup to a minimum. Paige was used to seeing you on stage or red carpets, you wanted her to see the real you today.
The elevator opened and there she was, in all her glory. She looked even better in person if that was possible, she looked like a goddess through the FaceTime camera but the way her eyes shone and skin glistened while she was just metres away from you had you lost for words. Her hair was down and straight, tucked behind her ears and she was wearing khaki pants with matching trainers and a pink and brown shirt. Why were you already imagining yourself wearing it? It would hang on your body oversized and it would probably smell like her.
âHello Y/N.â Paige breaks your daydream, a smile spreading on her face as you walk towards her.
âHi Paige.â You say shyly and she opens her arms for a hug and you step into it so naturally any nerves you had vanish within seconds.
âYou look gorgeous.â She complements as you pull apart and you feel your cheeks heat up even though sheâs said that every time youâve been on video call even when your half asleep with messy hair and in your pyjamas.
âThank you. You look great. Iâm not used to seeing you wear a shirt.â You joke as most of the time, Paige calls you post practice and sheâs almost always in her sports bra.
âI can take this off but letâs get that coffee first.â She says cheekily and her hand falls to the small of your back as she leads you out of the apartment building.
You and Paige argue over whoâs paying for your drinks as the barista watches you both grapple to reach the card reader.
âIt was my suggestion. Let me pay.â You state.
âIâm taking you on a date. Let me pay.â Paige quips back.
âBut you traveled into the city. Let me.â
âY/N put the damn card away. Iâm paying.â Her voice is assertive and dominant and her arm stretches over you to tap her card.
âThank you.â You say as you collect the drink, âYouâre welcome but never do that again. As long as youâre with me, everythings on me.â
âPaige-â
âNo arguememts, gorgeous.â
Yes maâam.
The walk to Central Park is quick and filled with lighthearted chatter, between you and Paige. She reaches out to touch you multiple times. Her hand grazing your cheek to move a piece of hair, a protective arm around your waist as you cross the road and each time you felt your skin tingle and then a sense of longing once the moment was over.
âIâm glad youâre here.â You say as you find a secluded bench to sit on together. You sit so close, your legs are touching and Paige places a hand on your thigh, âI am too. Sorry it told so long for me to figure out.â
âItâs OK, I know youâre busy. I am too. But what do they say? Distance makes the heart grow fonder and all that.â The last bit comes out of your mouth without you realising.
âYour heart is fond of me?â Paige asks, the corners of her mouth curving up slightly and you feel a blush creeping onto your face.
âI didnât- I donât-â You stutter out, unsure of how it would make Paige feel.
âNo. Donât backtrack. My heart is fond of you too. I wouldnât spend every night speaking to you or I wouldnât have drove three hours here if it wasnât.â
âReally?â You ask, averting your gaze because it felt weird hearing that from someone. You werenât a relationship girl, in fact youâd only ever been in one relationship and it was so far from perfect, you didnât think people like Paige existed.
âYes really, gorgeous.â Paige confirms, lifting your chin so youâre looking at her again.
âI thought maybe I was being too full on. I know people donât like that.â You say, now looking into her eyes. Her blue, blue eyes.
âIâm not people. Iâm Paige and you could never be too full on with me.â
âIn that caseâŠmy heart is definitely fond of you.â You admit, now mirroring Paiges soft smile.
The air is charged as you sit looking into each others eyes, Paiges hand still firmly rested on your thigh. She glances down and your lips and you glance down at hers. Her tongue pokes out to run across them and your breathing hitches at the way they look, so plump and wet, slightly apart and you begin to lean in as she does the same.
Paiges hand leaves your thigh and finds your neck as your lips meet in a needy but gentle kiss. She pushes into it, her tongue slipping into your mouth and you moan at the sensation. Youâve thought about this moment, dreamed about it so many times but nothing could have prepared you for how it felt. Her fingers tangling into the back of your hair, her soft skin under your fingertips, her scent the only thing you can smell.
Youâre both left red cheeked and slightly breathless and you canât help but giggle at each other and as you do, the heavens open and rain begins to pour. You gasp at the feeling of water already seeping through your clothes and wetting your skin.
âTypical.â Paige laughs and she grabs your hand pulling you up from the bench and you both start running.
âWhere are we going?â You ask trying your best to match Paiges strides.
The rain was heavy, already dripping down your face, blurring your vision and you kept a tight grip on Paiges hand hoping that she would lead the way.
âTo find shelterâŠso I can kiss you again.â Paige breathes out and she looks to you, her hair so wet, it looks a few shades darker.
âWeâre already drenched.â You say, her shirt is stuck to her skin, outlining her muscular physique and you can feel rain leaking into your shoes with every step you take.
Paige stops running but you canât stop fast enough so you bump into her and she grabs your waist, balancing you, âYouâre right. We are drenched so we might as well stay right here.â She says and she crashes her lips to yours again. Itâs hungrier this time, her hand is firm on your waist as the rain batters down on you both, you grip onto her shirt, pulling her closer, wanting more, needing more.
You donât care that youâre in the middle of Central Park, in the pouring rain. You care that youâre with Paige, finally and itâs better than you ever expected.

To whomever it may concern: Karlach without make up (and with scars). Bless the modders.
#bg3#listen I can easily see Shadowheart spending an hour every morning to do her make up and Lae'zel's is arguably warpaint#but with Karlach? a soldier in survival mode who also can't sit still for five minutes?#yeah nah#also abscence of eyeshadow kinda makes her asian features even more obvious#let it be known I restricted myself to ten screenshots but actually I have a whole folder by now.#also I can't quite figure out if she still has eyeliner on or if her lashes are just that nice abdbtbtbtb#EDIT: MODS ARE NAMED IN THE REPLIES SECTION

love spending three hours waiting for my mom to be ready to watch a show together only to be told itâs too late once she finally finishes doing other stuff. girl we agreed to watch this tonight what do you mean IâM too late. i was HERE. i was ready the whole time⊠YOU were the one doing things you could have done tomorrow!!!
#itâs like how is that my fault. secondly ok iâm watching it without you then if youâre gonna leave for ten days again#i love how she has not considered the idea that maybe spending like. a week every month with her sister is creating a situation that is more#stressful for her because now she has to worry about constantly planning something. like i canât even help you with that mom đ#beth.txt#like yes i know she wants to spend time with her sister because their other sister just died i get it#but like. you are already doing so much wrt that death. and you arenât even done. and now youâre also constantly on a deadline about where#you even ARE. itâs ridiculous#ok i know it sounds like iâm the dick in this situation for caring about a tv show but like genuinely there was an agreement and EYE was#one hundred percent THERE. i could have been doing anything else for three hours if i was just going to be waiting for nothing#and again i canât stress enough that everything she was doing could have been done tomorrow. you donât need to call an airline about a#refund at 10pm ok thatâs so unnecessary mom#she like sincerely has a problem about only getting stressed out about doing everything at night#my dad has the opposite problem he does everything in the morning. so you can imagine what living here is like.#nobody ever wants to fucking chill. relax even.#the really horrible thing is that IâM an afternoon girl.#so weâve got my dad running around in the morning. me in the afternoon. my mom at night. horrible situation. we should all get therapy.

How I got scammed
If you'd like an essay-formatted version of this post to read or share, here's a link to it on pluralistic.net, my surveillance-free, ad-free, tracker-free blog:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/02/05/cyber-dunning-kruger/#swiss-cheese-security
I wuz robbed.
More specifically, I was tricked by a phone-phisher pretending to be from my bank, and he convinced me to hand over my credit-card number, then did $8,000+ worth of fraud with it before I figured out what happened. And then he tried to do it again, a week later!
Here's what happened. Over the Christmas holiday, I traveled to New Orleans. The day we landed, I hit a Chase ATM in the French Quarter for some cash, but the machine declined the transaction. Later in the day, we passed a little credit-union's ATM and I used that one instead (I bank with a one-branch credit union and generally there's no fee to use another CU's ATM).
A couple days later, I got a call from my credit union. It was a weekend, during the holiday, and the guy who called was obviously working for my little CU's after-hours fraud contractor. I'd dealt with these folks before â they service a ton of little credit unions, and generally the call quality isn't great and the staff will often make mistakes like mispronouncing my credit union's name.
That's what happened here â the guy was on a terrible VOIP line and I had to ask him to readjust his mic before I could even understand him. He mispronounced my bank's name and then asked if I'd attempted to spend $1,000 at an Apple Store in NYC that day. No, I said, and groaned inwardly. What a pain in the ass. Obviously, I'd had my ATM card skimmed â either at the Chase ATM (maybe that was why the transaction failed), or at the other credit union's ATM (it had been a very cheap looking system).
I told the guy to block my card and we started going through the tedious business of running through recent transactions, verifying my identity, and so on. It dragged on and on. These were my last hours in New Orleans, and I'd left my family at home and gone out to see some of the pre-Mardi Gras krewe celebrations and get a muffalata, and I could tell that I was going to run out of time before I finished talking to this guy.
"Look," I said, "you've got all my details, you've frozen the card. I gotta go home and meet my family and head to the airport. I'll call you back on the after-hours number once I'm through security, all right?"
He was frustrated, but that was his problem. I hung up, got my sandwich, went to the airport, and we checked in. It was total chaos: an Alaska Air 737 Max had just lost its door-plug in mid-air and every Max in every airline's fleet had been grounded, so the check in was crammed with people trying to rebook. We got through to the gate and I sat down to call the CU's after-hours line. The person on the other end told me that she could only handle lost and stolen cards, not fraud, and given that I'd already frozen the card, I should just drop by the branch on Monday to get a new card.
We flew home, and later the next day, I logged into my account and made a list of all the fraudulent transactions and printed them out, and on Monday morning, I drove to the bank to deal with all the paperwork. The folks at the CU were even more pissed than I was. The fraud that run up to more than $8,000, and if Visa refused to take it out of the merchants where the card had been used, my little credit union would have to eat the loss.
I agreed and commiserated. I also pointed out that their outsource, after-hours fraud center bore some blame here: I'd canceled the card on Saturday but most of the fraud had taken place on Sunday. Something had gone wrong.
One cool thing about banking at a tiny credit-union is that you end up talking to people who have actual authority, responsibility and agency. It turned out the the woman who was processing my fraud paperwork was a VP, and she decided to look into it. A few minutes later she came back and told me that the fraud center had no record of having called me on Saturday.
"That was the fraudster," she said.
Oh, shit. I frantically rewound my conversation, trying to figure out if this could possibly be true. I hadn't given him anything apart from some very anodyne info, like what city I live in (which is in my Wikipedia entry), my date of birth (ditto), and the last four digits of my card.
Wait a sec.
He hadn't asked for the last four digits. He'd asked for the last seven digits. At the time, I'd found that very frustrating, but now â "The first nine digits are the same for every card you issue, right?" I asked the VP.
I'd given him my entire card number.
Goddammit.
The thing is, I know a lot about fraud. I'm writing an entire series of novels about this kind of scam:
https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250865878/thebezzle
And most summers, I go to Defcon, and I always go to the "social engineering" competitions where an audience listens as a hacker in a soundproof booth cold-calls merchants (with the owner's permission) and tries to con whoever answers the phone into giving up important information.
But I'd been conned.
Now look, I knew I could be conned. I'd been conned before, 13 years ago, by a Twitter worm that successfully phished out of my password via DM:
https://locusmag.com/2010/05/cory-doctorow-persistence-pays-parasites/
That scam had required a miracle of timing. It started the day before, when I'd reset my phone to factory defaults and reinstalled all my apps. That same day, I'd published two big online features that a lot of people were talking about. The next morning, we were late getting out of the house, so by the time my wife and I dropped the kid at daycare and went to the coffee shop, it had a long line. Rather than wait in line with me, my wife sat down to read a newspaper, and so I pulled out my phone and found a Twitter DM from a friend asking "is this you?" with a URL.
Assuming this was something to do with those articles I'd published the day before, I clicked the link and got prompted for my Twitter login again. This had been happening all day because I'd done that mobile reinstall the day before and all my stored passwords had been wiped. I entered it but the page timed out. By that time, the coffees were ready. We sat and chatted for a bit, then went our own ways.
I was on my way to the office when I checked my phone again. I had a whole string of DMs from other friends. Each one read "is this you?" and had a URL.
Oh, shit, I'd been phished.
If I hadn't reinstalled my mobile OS the day before. If I hadn't published a pair of big articles the day before. If we hadn't been late getting out the door. If we had been a little more late getting out the door (so that I'd have seen the multiple DMs, which would have tipped me off).
There's a name for this in security circles: "Swiss-cheese security." Imagine multiple slices of Swiss cheese all stacked up, the holes in one slice blocked by the slice below it. All the slices move around and every now and again, a hole opens up that goes all the way through the stack. Zap!
The fraudster who tricked me out of my credit card number had Swiss cheese security on his side. Yes, he spoofed my bank's caller ID, but that wouldn't have been enough to fool me if I hadn't been on vacation, having just used a pair of dodgy ATMs, in a hurry and distracted. If the 737 Max disaster hadn't happened that day and I'd had more time at the gate, I'd have called my bank back. If my bank didn't use a slightly crappy outsource/out-of-hours fraud center that I'd already had sub-par experiences with. If, if, if.
The next Friday night, at 5:30PM, the fraudster called me back, pretending to be the bank's after-hours center. He told me my card had been compromised again. But: I hadn't removed my card from my wallet since I'd had it replaced. Also, it was half an hour after the bank closed for the long weekend, a very fraud-friendly time. And when I told him I'd call him back and asked for the after-hours fraud number, he got very threatening and warned me that because I'd now been notified about the fraud that any losses the bank suffered after I hung up the phone without completing the fraud protocol would be billed to me. I hung up on him. He called me back immediately. I hung up on him again and put my phone into do-not-disturb.
The following Tuesday, I called my bank and spoke to their head of risk-management. I went through everything I'd figured out about the fraudsters, and she told me that credit unions across America were being hit by this scam, by fraudsters who somehow knew CU customers' phone numbers and names, and which CU they banked at. This was key: my phone number is a reasonably well-kept secret. You can get it by spending money with Equifax or another nonconsensual doxing giant, but you can't just google it or get it at any of the free services. The fact that the fraudsters knew where I banked, knew my name, and had my phone number had really caused me to let down my guard.
The risk management person and I talked about how the credit union could mitigate this attack: for example, by better-training the after-hours card-loss staff to be on the alert for calls from people who had been contacted about supposed card fraud. We also went through the confusing phone-menu that had funneled me to the wrong department when I called in, and worked through alternate wording for the menu system that would be clearer (this is the best part about banking with a small CU â you can talk directly to the responsible person and have a productive discussion!). I even convinced her to buy a ticket to next summer's Defcon to attend the social engineering competitions.
There's a leak somewhere in the CU systems' supply chain. Maybe it's Zelle, or the small number of corresponding banks that CUs rely on for SWIFT transaction forwarding. Maybe it's even those after-hours fraud/card-loss centers. But all across the USA, CU customers are getting calls with spoofed caller IDs from fraudsters who know their registered phone numbers and where they bank.
I've been mulling this over for most of a month now, and one thing has really been eating at me: the way that AI is going to make this kind of problem much worse.
Not because AI is going to commit fraud, though.
One of the truest things I know about AI is: "we're nowhere near a place where bots can steal your job, we're certainly at the point where your boss can be suckered into firing you and replacing you with a bot that fails at doing your job":
https://pluralistic.net/2024/01/15/passive-income-brainworms/#four-hour-work-week
I trusted this fraudster specifically because I knew that the outsource, out-of-hours contractors my bank uses have crummy headsets, don't know how to pronounce my bank's name, and have long-ass, tedious, and pointless standardized questionnaires they run through when taking fraud reports. All of this created cover for the fraudster, whose plausibility was enhanced by the rough edges in his pitch - they didn't raise red flags.
As this kind of fraud reporting and fraud contacting is increasingly outsourced to AI, bank customers will be conditioned to dealing with semi-automated systems that make stupid mistakes, force you to repeat yourself, ask you questions they should already know the answers to, and so on. In other words, AI will groom bank customers to be phishing victims.
This is a mistake the finance sector keeps making. 15 years ago, Ben Laurie excoriated the UK banks for their "Verified By Visa" system, which validated credit card transactions by taking users to a third party site and requiring them to re-enter parts of their password there:
https://web.archive.org/web/20090331094020/http://www.links.org/?p=591
This is exactly how a phishing attack works. As Laurie pointed out, this was the banks training their customers to be phished.
I came close to getting phished again today, as it happens. I got back from Berlin on Friday and my suitcase was damaged in transit. I've been dealing with the airline, which means I've really been dealing with their third-party, outsource luggage-damage service. They have a terrible website, their emails are incoherent, and they officiously demand the same information over and over again.
This morning, I got a scam email asking me for more information to complete my damaged luggage claim. It was a terrible email, from a noreply@ email address, and it was vague, officious, and dishearteningly bureaucratic. For just a moment, my finger hovered over the phishing link, and then I looked a little closer.
On any other day, it wouldn't have had a chance. Today â right after I had my luggage wrecked, while I'm still jetlagged, and after days of dealing with my airline's terrible outsource partner â it almost worked.
So much fraud is a Swiss-cheese attack, and while companies can't close all the holes, they can stop creating new ones.
Meanwhile, I'll continue to post about it whenever I get scammed. I find the inner workings of scams to be fascinating, and it's also important to remind people that everyone is vulnerable sometimes, and scammers are willing to try endless variations until an attack lands at just the right place, at just the right time, in just the right way. If you think you can't get scammed, that makes you especially vulnerable:

morning run
joel miller x fem!reader
[18+] | wc: ~ 2.8k summary: Joel overhears your argument with the neighbor. masterlist | AO3
warnings: HBO Joel, TLOU AU, dubious consent (i'm so serious, don't read if it makes you uncomfortable), NSFW, pre/no outbreak, some proofreading, Joel is a tall and very strong man, older man/college-aged reader, Joel lives in a wealthy neighborhood with an HOA (homeowners association), no use of y/n or too many details on reader's appearance, somewhat public setting, breeding kink (kinda), fingering, squirting, unprotected sex, creampie
âThese HOA people are vultures,â your sister mutters.Â
You look up from your laptop and watch out the window as the committee leaves on their golf cart, most likely on their way to torment another house on the block.Â
âIs it that big of a deal that my flower garden has the wrong color of roses?âÂ
âThereâs a wrong color of roses?â you ask in confusion.Â
âYes! The president of the HOA, Susan,â you sister spits out in disdain, âonly wants light pink roses on this block.âÂ
She slams the written warning on the entrance table and storms off into the kitchen. âIâm not sure how her husband stands her. I guess thatâs why he spends so much time at the golf course.âÂ
You follow her into the kitchen, partly because you want a break from your assignments and also because you want to hear more gossip about her new neighborhood.Â
âYou know she made me pay a fine because my car was left on the driveway after hours? Itâs my driveway!âÂ
You raise your eyebrows in surprise. âSuddenly, Iâm not so jealous about your new place.âÂ
She throws a sponge at your head.Â
âWhy donât you just say no?â you ask as you narrowly dodge the sponge.Â
âIâve tried so hard to be nice to everyone here. But all Susan does is turn people against me. Everytime I walk outside to grab the mail or go to work, people give me dirty looks!âÂ
You donât like seeing your sister like this. Itâs her home. One she worked very hard to buy in this wealthy neighborhood. No one has the right to make her feel like an outsider. So you develop a plan.Â
You find out Susanâs schedule fairly easily. Every morning at 8 a.m. she walks her husband to his car and kisses him goodbye before he leaves for work. She then walks back inside for her notebook and pen to then walk around the neighborhood.Â
She stops at every house to ensure it fits her standards and if they donât, she leaves a written warning on the front door. During the weekends, she and her gang of friends drive around on a golf cart to give out even more citations.Â
So at exactly 7:55 A.M., you make your way to her house. Youâre careful in the outfit you chose this morning: a tight sports bra and running shorts. She, and most importantly her husband, are definitely going to notice you.Â
You slow down as you round the corner, already seeing her husband place his briefcase in the backseat of his beamer. She walks right behind him with a lunch pail and kisses his cheek. You shout out a good morning and watch as they both turn to look at you.Â
Her right eye immediately begins to twitch and she plasters on a fake smile. His eyes do an appreciative sweep of your body as he walks to the end of the driveway.Â
âGood morning! Susan,â he says turning to his wife, âwhy didnât you tell me we had a new neighbor?âÂ
He grasps your hand and gives it a firm shake. His thumb caresses the back of your hand as he slowly lets go. Susan finally reaches the both of you and grabs onto her husband's arm to pull him away.Â
You give him a sweet smile, pushing your chest out in a calculated move so he has no choice but to look.  Â
âIâm just visiting my sister over on Ocean Avenue. The neighborhood is so nice I thought it would be perfect for my morning runs.âÂ
âI agree, you can run anytime you wantââÂ
âSweetie,â Susan interrupts in a high-pitched voice, âyouâre going to be late.â
He asks for your name and what youâre studying in college, then shakes your hand again while Susan seethes next to the driverâs side door. He drives off, promising a tour of the country club later that day. You're left standing alone with Susan, just as you wanted. Â
âLook here, young lady,â she snarls, âthis is a neighborhood full of families. Not some frat house. We do not allow blatant displays ofâofâwell this ,â she says as she motions to your workout attire. âI am going to write your sister a citation for this disrespectful action.âÂ
âWell, that does make me sad. I guess Iâll have to ask your husband to cheer me up later when I visit him.âÂ
Her face turns beet red and you wonder briefly if steam will come out of her ears. âWhat did you just say?âÂ
âYour husband was so nice in inviting me to the country club, how can I say no? I really need to work on my swingââÂ
âYou stay away from my husband,â she whispers, pointing a finger at your face, âor I will find a way to run your sister out of this neighborhood.âÂ
âLeave my sister alone,â you say as you walk right up to her and push her finger out of the way, âor Iâll fuck your husband.â
Susan gasps, dramatically placing a hand over her mouth.Â
âIâll make sure he finishes inside me, too. Maybe give him a baby.âÂ
With that, you continue your jog down the sidewalk. You donât notice Susanâs neighbor, who stands by his gate and watches you run off. Â
-Â
You continue your jogs for the next few days, waving at Susan and her husband every morning. You and Susan come to an unspoken agreement: she stops bothering your sister and you make sure to stay away from her husband.Â
Just as you jog past her house, you notice an envelope on the sidewalk. Itâs next to a brick mailbox that has the name Miller written on a plaque. You check the envelope and sure enough you see it's made out to a Joel Miller .Â
You walk up to the iron gate that matches the address and call out a hello , but no one answers. Thereâs red roses that wrap around the expansive gate which look and smell beautiful, but block your view inside. You test the handle of the gate and luckily it opens.Â
âThey mustâve dropped it when getting the mail this morning,â you mumble to yourself.Â
âMorninâ, doll,â a gruff voice calls out to your right.Â
You jump slightly and turn to look, finding a man crouched by the gate. He stands to his full height and you have to tilt your head up just so you can keep eye contact.Â
âGood morning,â you whisper.Â
Heâs older and handsome, much more attractive than the college boys you're used to. He places his gardening shears down and takes off his gloves to shake your hand. You do your best to control the shiver that courses through your body at the touch of his warm skin.Â
âJoel,â he states, swiping his other hand through his salt and pepper hair.Â
You open your mouth to say your name, but he beats you to it.Â
âHow did you knowââÂ
âI heard your conversation with Susan the other day,â Joel interrupts with a slight smirk.Â
His hand tightens for a moment until he lets go, dragging his fingers over your palm. You feel embarrassment wash over your body and you quickly hand him the envelope.Â
âRightâum, how much of the conversation did you hear?âÂ
He lets out a laugh and drops the envelope into a basket that youâve now just noticed. Itâs full of the same red roses that cover his gate.Â
âJust the part where you threatened to fuck her husband if she didnât leave your sister alone,â he says, placing his hands on his hips. âEffective threat, it seems.âÂ
His eyes sweep over your body and you become hyper aware of the workout clothes you're wearing. Once again, a sports bra and running shorts.Â
âSheâs backed down,â you say after a few moments, crossing your arms to cover your pebbling nipples.Â
âSo,â he continues while walking closer, âyou offerinâ to fuck every man on the block or just herâs?âÂ
His words send a shock wave through your body, landing right between your legs. You ignore the pulsing in your cunt and instead lift your hand to slap him across the face.Â
As if heâs able to sense what youâre about to do, he catches your wrist before your hand makes contact with his face.Â
âHow dare youââ Â
âDonât act so innocent now,â he growls, pushing your body against the gate. âYou told Susan you were going to let âem fill you up. Put a baby inside of you.âÂ
Your back makes contact with the gate, luckily in a place where thereâs no thorns. You try to push out of his hold, confused at how much you enjoy being manhandled by an older man you just met.Â
âLet me go or Iâll screamââ
âJoel?â a familiar high-pitched voice interrupts you. âAre you there?âÂ
Your body stills at the sound of Susanâs voice. Theoretically, you could use this opportunity to scream for help. Sure, youâd have to face Susan again, but youâd be able to escape.Â
Except, Joel manages to pick up your lower body and push his jean-covered cock right against your cunt. You wrap your legs around his waist to not fall and place one hand on the iron gate behind you.
He rocks against you, moving a finger in front of his mouth, motioning you to stay quiet. Your mouth drops open in surprise as he grabs your hips and begins to grind you down on him.Â
âYes, maâam. What can I help you with?â Joel responds.Â
She tries to open the gate and you press your body back so she wonât see you. Youâre not quite sure why youâre trying to hide.Â
âJoel, honey. Your gate is locked,â she says. âCome unlock it and let me in.â Â
Through your daze, you faintly register her tone. Did she just call him honey? Â
âSorry, Susan. It does that sometimes. Iâve got my hands full at the moment,â Joel calls out, giving you another hard thrust.Â
You bite your lip to stop the moan that threatens to escape.Â
âThatâs okay, I just wanted to stop by and warn you about the young lady thatâs staying with her sister over on Ocean Avenue.âÂ
Joel raises his eyebrow and stops his movements, dropping your thighs from his hold. You're shocked again, feeling dejected that heâs stopping. Â
He quickly spins you around and bends you over, pushing a hand between your thighs. You grab onto the iron gate once more and slap a hand over your mouth as he begins to rub a big hand over your thin shorts.Â
âWarn me?â he calls out. âWhatâs this young lady been up to?âÂ
âWell, thatâthatâ tramp ,â Susan spits out, âis acting in ways that she shouldnât. I know youâre a hardworking man who has done so much for our community and the last thing I want is this girl making you uncomfortable.âÂ
Joel yanks down your shorts and plunges a thick finger inside of you. Youâd roll your eyes at her words but instead they're rolling into the back of your skull. He thrusts his finger a few times and calls out a is that right to Susan.Â
Joel adds another finger and you almost fall at the stretch. If those are just his fingers, you wonder how big his cock is. He uses his other hand to keep you steady and continues to fuck you with his thick fingers while talking to her.Â
âI just,â Susan continues, âI donât know what to do. Maybe we can find a way for the sister to leave? If we all band together?âÂ
Joel removes his hand from between your legs and places it on your back to keep you in place. This time you actually struggle in his hold, wanting to face Susan and give her a piece of your mind.Â
âNow, Susan,â Joel admonishes, âdonât go blaming the sister for the younger oneâs actions. Thereâs no need to be spiteful to our new neighbor. Thereâs more than enough room in this neighborhood for everyone.âÂ
You stop, surprised that Joel is standing up for your sister. He presses against you and you feel the roughness of his jeans on your bare skin. He brings you in close, gently rubbing his crotch on your slick cunt.Â
âOh, youâre so right, Joel. I just get so caught up in the politics of the HOA. I want this community to be perfect.âÂ
A wet glob of spit lands on your asshole and you clench in surprise. Joel quietly unzips his jeans and takes out his cock.Â
âFucking perfect little asshole,â he whispers, pushing the tip of his cock right on your hole. âNot today, baby. Today is that juicy, little cunt.âÂ
You arch your back and barely manage to stifle a whimper when he teases the tip of your entrance.Â
âWhat was that, Joel?â Susan calls out.Â
âThat the community is already perfect, Susan.âÂ
His voice sounds annoyed at this point.Â
âYou think so, Joel? Thank you, IââÂ
Joel uses that moment to plunge inside of you, bumping your g-spot and reaching so deep that you choke on your own spit.Â
âIâm getting a call, Susan,â Joel says through gritted teeth, âIâll speak to you later.âÂ
Susan gives a sad goodbye while you bite on your hand to stop your moans. Joel is big, much bigger than any of the boys in your past. Your pussy spasms and flutters over his length and you breathe in deep to adjust to the size.Â
âSâtight,â he mutters, âkeep quiet fâme, doll. Too many people on the sidewalk at this time of morninâ.âÂ
You hum in response, wanting him to fuck you, to stretch you and make you come on his cock. He starts a rhythm, keeping one hand on your waist so you match his thrusts and the other slips between your thighs.Â
Sticky wetness drips down your inner thighs and he swipes two fingers through the mess to bring them up to your clit. Joel pistons faster, rubbing harsh circles on your clit that have you accidently whimpering in pleasure.Â
âI know, baby,â he coos, âfeels so good, doesnât it?âÂ
â Yâyes ,â you whisper.Â
âShowing off that pretty body when runninâ around the neighborhood,â he groans. âPicking fights and trespassing. Just needed someone to fuck some manners into you.âÂ
Your fingers curl into the iron gate and your back arches even deeper. He speeds up, becomes harsher in his thrusts once he notices your pussy become softer, wetter, gripping his cock with each plunge.Â
âLittle cunt can barely take my cock,â Joel groans, âfuck, doll. Youâre choking me.â
You wish you could bite his neck, leave red hickeys on his tan skin that you imagine tastes like salt and roses and spearmint. Your head spins from lust and you feel the coil in your belly, ready to burst at any moment.Â
You hear voices, people walking past on the sidewalk for some early morning exercise. Joel lands a quick slap, slap to your clit and your cumming, clenching hard on his length while you fall apart.Â
Your vision blurs and you faintly hear him say there you go, make a fuckinâ mess on me . Wetness spills from your cunt, only making it easier for Joel. You bite hard on your bottom lip to stop the whimpers and your fingers curl into the iron gate.Â
âGonna cum inside this pussy, put a baby in there,â he whispers.Â
â Please, Joel,â you whine.Â
He brings your back to his chest, molds his lips to your neck and bites down, moving you like his personal fleshlight. Joel groans in your shoulder and then you feel it, hot pulses of cum, filling you up.Â
You hold onto his arm that's branded across your chest and squeeze down on him, milking every drop from his body, wanting it to mark you deep inside.
Joel's body trembles from the exertion and he stumbles as he finishes, turning his body to lean on the iron gate with you still attached to his cock.
He keeps you pressed to him for a few moments, keeping his nose pressed to your neck as he breathes deep. Your own breathing regulates and you become aware of the sensitivity all over your body.
Joel stands straight and gently pulls out. He reaches into his jeans pocket to reach for a clean handkerchief that he uses to clean up between your thighs.
"Same time tomorrow?" he asks.
You manage a rough fuck off and lightly push at his shoulders. He laughs and helps you fix your clothes. He swipes your phone that fell on the ground the moment he pushed you to the gate, having you unlock it so he can put in his phone number.
You make it back home a few minutes later, sore but for the most part, satiated . Your sister gets home hours later, once you've relaxed in her ginormous bathtub and washed away the evidence of your morning run.
"Are you seeing someone?" she teases as she walks in.
"What? No, why?"
"Someone left a giant bouquet of red roses on the porch."Â
Sure enough, you find a bouquet of familiar red roses on the front doorstep. You donât need a notecard to know who they're from.Â

Part 2
Can't stop thinking about reader finally cutting them loose.
For three days there was nothing but radio silence. In those three days you had told yourself that it was a grace period. Time for Simon to cool off and realize how much of a bastard he was for saying all those things he obviously didn't mean. Johnny coming back over with a bouquet of flowers and endless apologies and cuddles.
Simon didn't apologize for his harsh words.
Johnny didn't call you later, as promised.
For three days you jumped at every single notification, silently hoping it was one of them. Any of them.
But it wasn't.
And you, unfortunately, got the answer to the question you had been asking yourself for months.
Did they still want this?
The answer was clear.
You didn't let their unofficial dismissal get to you. You still had shit to do. A life to get on to. A book signing to go to.
Jesus.
A book signing. A book you wrote. A book that was being published and released the day of the expo. You weren't expecting a huge line because this was your debut novel, but with the help of some ARC readers who had took to social media, there had been a bit of a storm brewing.
You had listened to John when he had mentioned writing under an alias. Don't know how crazy people are out there. They'd do anything to get close to you, Dove. Just better to protect yourself where you can. You almost hated yourself for listening to him now. Now you would just have to keep writing under your pen name.
You were getting ready to close up shop early when your phone finally pinged.
Kyle.
Fuck.
Of course it was Kyle. The one who hadn't treated you like you were constantly bothering him. Not the one who made you feel guilty for agreeing to your arrangement. Nor was he the one who fucked you and left you. No. He was just the one who just wasn't there.
Maybe that was just as bad.
What are you up to today?
That was it. Almost two weeks of radio silence and that's all he had to say? It just added more evidence that you were making the right call in ending this now. It had already carried on for too long.
You had two things on your to-do list and you wouldn't let Kyle's sudden reappearance deter you.
E-mail the publisher back.
Change the locks.
You didn't have the strength to face them again. If they groveled, it would be too easy to take them back. One against four wasn't much of a fair fight. And if they didn't care to fight for you... you don't know if you could survive it. Coming face-to-face with the proof that it didn't bother them to give you up even though it was killing you.
No. Cutting it off completely was the best thing to do.
So you didn't respond.
You left Kyle's text unanswered as you e-mailed the publisher back that everything was set for your flight on tomorrow morning. You would spend Thursday adjusting to the time difference and Friday you would rest up before the expo this weekend. She assured you that you would need to rest up your writing hand. Whatever that means.
You left Kyle read as you closed up shop several hours earlier than usual. You needed to drop off the bank deposit before you started on task number two.
You didn't bothering responding to Johnny when he had texted you when you were leaving the hardware store, purchase in hand. Asking if you were free Friday. Promising dinner. 'In or out. Your choice.'
It was almost second nature when you got home to pull up your phone. Ready to text one of them to see which one of them could come over and help.
Fixing a leaky sink? Nothing Johnny hasn't seen before. Need help moving furniture? John won't mind when you change your several times on what should go where. Kyle would always come in with take out the moment you mentioned you were hungry and whenever you felt like going for a walk when it was a bit too late in the evening, Simon was the first to volunteer as your personal guard dog.
But asking them to come and change the very lock you planned on using to keep them out seemed... counter productive, if not downright petty.
You were almost done with the lock when your phone sounded off. Only this time it wasn't a text. Someone was calling you.
You almost faltered when John's name came on your screen.
Fuck.
That almost got you.
You almost answered it.
Almost.
You clicked on the 'Sorry, I can't talk right now. Options, before finishing up your work.
And just like that, you were done. No help needed. You had changed the lock. Even adding on a deadbolt. Replacing the flimsy chain Simon had taunted you about. If someone wanted to get in here, that wouldn't stop them.
Well, now you didn't need to hear it anymore.
Not that you would really hear it again...
Your flight was in twelve hours. Although that seemed an ample amount of time you hadn't even begun to pack. You had luckily narrowed your outfits down, but now was the task of folding it nicely into your suitcase rather than just stuffing it in there.
On my way. We need to talk.
It was too late for talking. Three days too late. Several months too late.
The last message sent was four weeks ago. A new Thai place had opened up close to your apartment that you were wanting to try. All of them had given you excuses.
Not my taste, Dove.
Cannae do it tonight. Next weekend? Next weekend didn't happen either.
I can do tomorrow. Kyle ended up bailing. You forget the excuse he used.
Simon hadn't even bothered to reply.
The final nail in the coffin of your relationship. Almost two years wasted with nothing, but a broken heart to show for it. And the worst part is, they had all chipped away at your heart, leaving you to deal with the final blow that would shatter it.
Im sorry. I canât do this with you anymore. wish you all the best.
Your fingers made quick work in blocking their numbers. It was best. If they wanted to reach you, they couldn't. On the other side of the coin, if they didn't care to reply, you wouldn't spend countless hours crying over the fact that none of them had been affected the same way you had.
You would deal with getting them their belongings that they had left behind another time. You had big things, great things happening for you. You were cutting your loses. You were cutting them loose.
You just hoped you didnât regret it.

Almost Kisses
Summary : Bucky's kisses have become a daily part of your life together, but it wasnât always that way.
Pairing : Bucky Barnes x Reader (she/her)Â
Warnings : very slight mention of food and mild cursing
Requested by : @buckys-wintersoldier
Word count : 1.8k
Note : This one was very fun! I was listening to Work Song By Hozier while writing this, so it's safe to say the song served as a bit of inspiration, too. I did say it would be >1k word blurb but I have once again got over the limit.
Requests are open!
Kissing you had become second nature to Bucky. Every morning when he woke up, every night before bed. It was part of his routine, it felt as natural as breathing. He kissed you when he passed you in the kitchen, when you laughed at something ridiculous, when you werenât paying attention. He kissed you just because he could.
It was hard for him to remember a time before that, but once, kissing you had seemed impossible.
The first time the thought even crossed his mind, you were standing outside his apartment door, trying to get his attention. Sam had called you, worried about him after days of radio silence, days of ignoring texts and phone calls from both him and his therapist.Â
Sam could get through to Bucky on most days, but on the really hard ones, when the weight of his past pulled him under the covers and refused to let him go, there was only one person who could reach him. You.Â
Somehow, Bucky had imprinted on you in a way he never had with anyone else. Sam wasnât stupidâ he knew that Bucky was down hard for you. Hell, everyone who ever saw the two of you interact knew that Bucky was in love with you. Everyone except you.
Because love had to keep you blind like that, at least for a while.
"Bucky?" Your voice was soft that day, muffled by the door separating you from him. You knocked again, gentler this time. "I brought you pizza. Just cheese, no toppingsâyour favorite." You paused, like you were waiting for signs of life, anything, but the silence was deafening. You lowered your voice, a whisper now. "I cut off the burnt bits, the way you like it."
The door creaked open, just a sliver of light pouring in from the apartment. Bucky's figure stood in the shadow, his frame filling the doorway, but his voice was small and frail. "Extra cheese?"
"Of course, Buck." Your lips curved up knowing youâve essentially made it in. You slipped inside the moment he stepped back.Â
That night, you didnât leave his side. You pulled him out of the dark waters he had drowned himself in. He told you about his nightmares, the memories that wouldnât let him breathe. You listened, laughed when he cracked the odd dark joke, and cried while exchanging stories. Minutes blurred into hours, and eventually, you fell asleep beside him on the couch, your head resting on his shoulder.Â
That was the night he realized what you did to him. You didnât just pull him out of his pit of despairâ you made him feel alive. Electric.
The next morning, you took a shower, borrowing one of his shirts since yours were dirty. Seeing you in his oversized clothes twisted something inside him, drove him insane with wild thoughtsâ he almost said something, but bit his tongue to stop the flow of words that would have been unstoppable. When you hugged him goodbye, he held on just a second too long, his arms tightened around you, hesitating to let go and wishing he could stay in the safety of your embrace forever. And for just a heartbeat, he stared at your lips. He almost gave in, almost kissed you right then and there, but he shoved the thought away at the last second. Why would you ever want to kiss someone like him?
The second time he almost kissed you was at the ice rink in Central Park. It was the holiday season, and this year Bucky realised that he didnât need to spend it alone anymore. He invited you out, convincing himself it wasnât a dateâ just two friends hanging out, doing friend things. Â
You were hesitant, admitting you couldnât skate and that the ice never seemed to agree with you, but he insisted.
"You can hold onto me," he teased, though he left out telling you how much he wanted you to. Just to feel you close. Just for you to embrace him again.
"Buck!" you squealed when he picked up speed, your hands clutching his jacket tight around your fist in a death grip. "Youâre going way too fast!"
He laughed, slowing to a stop in the middle of the rink. The moonlight between trees shrouded the two of you. You stumbled into his chest, your fingers curling into his coat. For a second, you didnât move. You stayed there, taking in his scent. "What would I do without you?" you murmured into his chest, voice barely above a whisper.
In that moment, he realised that you werenât just his friend out of pityâ You made him feel wanted. Needed.
His hands found your cheeks, his thumb brushing lightly across your skin. He could almost taste how your lips would feelâ soft, warm, perfect. His breath hitched, his body taking control. But then, just as quickly, he put his logical mind back in the pilot seat. He pulled away. Why would you want to kiss someone whoâd been broken as many times as him?
The third time he thought about kissing you, he couldâve sworn you wanted it, too. You were on one of your usual runs and morning coffeeâ your ritual together. It happened once or twice a week when he wasnât whisked away to some strange land for a mission.Â
Bucky always slowed his pace to match yours. He didnât mind since he could spend those extra moments near you.Â
After the runs, youâd get coffee together. He talked about everythingâhis life in the 40s, his family, Steve, his friends from school.Â
You gave him pieces of his humanity back with every conversation. With you, he felt more than a soldierâ you made him feel more organic. Human.
He felt that, for once, he was more interesting than the winter soldier.
He then talked about wanting a small pet, maybe a dog, or a white cat.Â
"What, am I not companion enough?" you had teased.
His ears burned, and the super soldier found himself stammering. "Thatâs not what I meant."
You laughed as you brushed coffee foam off his facial hair. The briefest touch and his heart started racing out of control.
He could've sworn you leaned in just slightly, almost instinctively. He wanted to kiss you. He needed to. But again, he pushed it down, convincing himself that the two of you were just friends.Â
The day after, he found himself lying on the couch, thoughts spiraling. He couldnât stop thinking about youâ your lips, your laugh, your touch. He didnât know what to make of it. The feelings ate away at his sanity, and they wouldnât go away. For the first time, he asked himself the question he was too afraid to ask: was this how it felt to be truly, deeply, and desperately in love?
Then came the knock.
He opened the door, and there you were, looking as tired as he felt. Your hair was a mess, your clothes crumpled, and you looked like you havenât slept since he saw you yesterday, but you were still so goddamn beautiful. You had this infectious wild energy, like you were on the edge of discovering the secret to world peace.
"Iâve been thinking all night," you said, stepping inside the gap he had open. That was how welcome you felt in his space, how comfortable he was with you. "If Iâm wrong, this is going to be so embarrassing, butâ three times. You almost kissed me three times."
Bucky blinked, caught off-guard.
"That night with the pizza, when I said goodbye," you continued, pacing around the room in deep thought. "The ice rink. And yesterday at the coffee shop." You held up three fingers at his face, your hands trembling slightly. "Three times is too much to be a coincidence. Three times is too much to just accidentally lean in. Please, tell me youâve thought about it. Tell me youâve wanted to kiss me becauseâ" You stopped, looking into his beautiful eyes. "Because Iâve thought about it too."
Your voice was shaky. Bucky had never seen you so vulnerable, so uncertain. So hopeful.
"This is so embarrassing," you muttered, your voice now barely a whisper. But before you could say anything else, Bucky closed the distance between you. He grabbed you by the waist and kissed you, his lips capturing yours in a desperate rush. All the hesitations melted away from the tension in his muscles, and it was better than heâd imagined a thousand times. He didnât know how it was possible, but you tasted even sweeter than he had dreamed. His hands tangled in your hair as you stood on tiptoes, clutching him as if he might slip away.
When you finally pulled back, breathless, you whispered in disbelief, "So I was right."
Bucky smiled, finger running along your skin, in a sensory attempt to remind him the was all real and not just one of his fantasies. "Only took you half a year to notice."
You laughed softly, melting into his touch. "I could say the same for you."
He chuckled, leaning down to kiss you again. "Shush," he whispered between kisses. He was addicted now. He needed his fix. He needed your touch, your warmth, your lips on his. Again, and again, and again.
And that was more than a year ago. Now, Bucky still couldnât stop kissing you. If anything, it had only gotten worse, not that you were complaining.
He kissed you every chance he got. When you rolled over in bed, still half asleep, he kissed your forehead. When you stretched in the kitchen, reaching for a mug for your afternoon tea, he kissed the back of your neck. When you came home late from work, tired but smiling, he pulled you into his arms and kissed you breathless, as if you were the only thing keeping him grounded.
"Buck," you laughed, stopping his train of thought, playfully trying to squirm away as he pulled you onto his lap. "Weâre supposed to be watching a movie."
His lips found the sensitive spot behind your ear. "But Iâd rather kiss you."
You were powerless against him, as you always are. Laughing softly, you said, "You know, you kiss me every day. Arenât you tired of me yet?"
He pulled back just enough to look at you, reminding himself of how lucky he was that he had you here. That if it wasnât for you storming into his apartment in a frenzy with a theory, you wouldnât be here in his arms. "Never." His voice was so soft, making your breath hitch.
You were about to say something smart, but Bucky stopped you with another kiss, his lips gentle and loving, yet there was such a fiery passion beneath. You curled into him, his warmth wrapping around you like a blanket. When you finally pulled away, you were both breathless, the movie long forgotten.
He stared at you, thumb brushing the side of your face, as if memorizing every detail. "Iâm never gonna stop kissing you," he whispered, pressing his forehead against yours. His voice was a little rough, his throat dry from the taste of you. "I donât think I could, even if I tried."
And you believed him.

a missed moment
synopsis: Rafe misses the moment Charlie takes his first steps and is harsh on himself as always.
Charlie was the light of Rafeâs life: anything his son did made him so proud. Every little smile, giggle or âdadaâ made Rafe grin so widely someone would think he had been possessed. But he wasnât possessed, instead just so incredibly proud to have his sweet little boy happy and healthy and growing. The love he felt for his son wasnât something Rafe had ever pictured or believed in, not considering his own father, but now that he had felt it, he never wished to let it go. Rafe did his best to be there for all his sonâs milestones, even taking embarrassing photos for when he was older, but it was the one he missed that sent him into a spiral.
Rafe had been spending the day out in Guadeloupe, doing his best to sort out the shit for his dad and spending hours feeling his stress levels rising to a boiling point. All he wanted was to rest in his bed, relax and spend time with his family, and yet he was walking around the island talking about dividends and shares. He wasnât pleased. Rafe walked through the front door, feeling the tension seep from his body, ready to lie down, only to see his son standing upright, little Charlieâs chunky arms clinging to the side of their couch.
Rafeâs eyes bulged as he watched Charlie turn to him, a large smile overtaking his identical features, the boy letting go of the couch as he took small steps towards his father.
Fuck. He was walking. Walking. He hadnât been able to do that yesterday.
His girlfriend sat near Charlie, her soft voice encouraging him to âkeep going to dadaâ. She gave small claps of encouragement as he moved closer, cheering him on.
Rafe felt his heart squeeze tightly in his chest as his son began to reach his small, chubby arms out to his father, and he could only pick him up, encapsulating the small boy within his own larger arms.
"Good job, buddy," was all Rafe managed to utter, his mind racing at the new development. He turned to his girlfriend, asking quietly "When did he start walking?".
"He started trying yesterday, but this morning he tried to follow you out of the house," his girlfriend responded softly. It was clear to see how Rafe was feeling, him not even bothering to hide the sadness spreading across his features. Rafe had been trying to get Charlie to walk for weeks as his little body grew stronger, but to no avail. And now, he had missed it.
"I should've been here..." Rafe mumbled lowly, "not fucking around doing this shit for my dad." Charlie began to play with the collar on his father's shirt, not sensing the sullen mood of his father. His mother shuffled over towards him, softly stroking his hair as he rested his head against his father's chest. Rafe looked down at his girlfriend before averting his eyes - he felt like she could always see right through him.
"Hey - don't do that. You were doing that to make sure we're going to be safe and looked after. You said that yourself, so don't feel bad about this, ok? This is just one milestone in his life, and he is going to have so many more. You were there when he stood for the first time, and when he said his first word," his girlfriend reassured, her arms now wrapping around Rafe's waist. He let himself embrace her, Charlie joining the hug too.
"I-I know, but what if he remembers this shit and he hat-," Rafe began, only to be quickly cut off.
"Rafe, he's one. He's not going to remember any of this. All he knows is that his parent's love him more than anything, ok?"
Rafe remained tense for a moment longer, before a heaving exhale left his chest. With that, he resolved to let his worries go - his girlfriend was right. He knew his mind was confounding his worries, for he only wanted his son to know he loved him. Rafe never wanted Charlie to question his love for him. Caught up in his thoughts, Rafe didn't notice his girlfriend pulling away from him, her voice redirecting his attention suddenly.
"I need to get his dinner ready. Can you stay with him?"
The blonde nodded, receiving a quick peck on the lips in acknowledgement, before his attention turned to Charlie - his expression brightening as he looked down at his son. "We're gonna practice walking again, aren't we buddy?" he proclaimed, walking them over to the rug again. Rafe watched as his girlfriend laughed as she left the room, her disembodied voice telling them to have fun. Whilst she prepared his dinner, all she could hear were the giggles of a small child and the encouraging statements leaving Rafe. He became a whole new person when he was with his son, and the cheer he let out when Charlie managed to walk towards him again only made the young mother smile to herself, her heart swelling with happiness at the small family the pair had created.

âshes a pistol, ty. hope you can handle herâ javier begins, removing his sunnies and leans against his white truck while looking at tyler across the driveway of your mothers house.
tyler smiles to himself at the mention of you. he looks in his wallet, a picture of you and him at a rodeo. youâre wearing his red flannel and white cowboy hat as you kiss his cheek.
a picture he treasured most. no one knew about this picture in his wallet. it was his own little secret, you didnât even know he had the polaroid.
tyler and you both majored in meteorology throughout your time in college. storm chasers had a limited dating pool. nobody was willing to chase after these monstrous storms in such a way and then return to laugh about it over a few beers.
thatâs why he took such a liking to you.
tyler didn't try to hide his feelings first. he would constantly try to convince you to go out with him or do something else, but you would never accept his advances. you didn't believe that you could put up with his ego.
till you began chasing with him.
since then, you saw a side of him that you didnât know. tyler was a kind hearted man, caring for the people that fell victim to these storms. he was so intelligent that it made you rethink your own decisions, that was rare.
before you knew it, you started falling for tyler owens. the rest is history.
âiâm thinkin bout asking her to move in with me after we get this storm tonight.â tyler confesses to javier, a sly smirk on his face. javierâs eyebrows raise, cocking his hip to the side and crossing his arms.
âyou think sheâll say yes?â
tyler presses his lips into a thin smile, stuffing his wallet into his back pocket where it belongs. âi hope so.â he answers, looking up towards the house.
tyler had decided it was time to take the next step with you. he had been thinking about asking you to move in with him for a while now, and he was sure it was the right decision.
he loved you deeply and couldnât imagine his life without you. he wanted to wake up next to you every morning, cook breakfast together, and spend evenings cuddled up on the couch watching movies.
the thought of you living together filled him with excitement and joy, and he couldnât wait to see the look on your face when he popped the question.
âguys!â lilly hollers, exiting the rv, running towards the pair. âwe have huge activity southeast. we gotta move, now!â
thereâs a tension that settled in over the group as they all scrambled to get their things together and radars ready.
tylerâs first thought was you. he takes off, boots stomping in the puddles as he swings the screen door open.
ây/n?â he hollers, taking his sunglasses off.
âup here!â you answer, drying your hair after a shower.
you watch in the mirror as tyler appears in the doorway, âwhats up?â you ask, dropping your hand by your sides. âthereâs one southeast. big one.â heâs almost grinning hoping to get you excited but his smile drops when you donât react.
thereâs a silence as you begin to rake product through the ends of your hair. âcmon, we donât wanna miss it. lilly says itâll touch down in an hour at least.â
âmânot goinâ you reply, looking into his eyes from the mirror. âwhat? whaddya mean?â
âitâs momâ you answer, followed by a sigh. âsheâs doing bad again, sheâs freaking out over it and iâm just gonna stay with her. the house isnât in the path so it should be fineâ you say, turning to him.
you can see a soft frown on his lips as he looks down at you, âwe always chase together.â
you smile sadly, and nod. you let your hand come up and caress his cheek. âi know, darlin. weâll get the next one i promise.â
you press a quick kiss on his lips, âbe safe, baby.â he replies, kissing the top of your head and heading off with the crew.
the atmosphere was thick and heavy with a sense of impending doom as the tornado began to take shape. the clouds churned and wracked, twisting into a massive, menacing funnel cloud. the noise was deafening, a high-pitched roar that seemed to come from everywhere at once.
gusts of wind howled like a beast, tearing at anything in their path. this was no ordinary twister; this was an EF5, the most powerful and destructive tornado there was. it loomed on the horizon, a sinister harbinger of disaster.
tyler, now chasing the storm, was strapped into his well-worn red dodge. his eyes fixed on the churning sky as he chased a massive storm through the southeast landscapes. his truck was a trusted companion, having borne him through countless weather events.
its engine roared confidently as tyler navigated the treacherous terrain, seeking the perfect position to observe the storm up close and capture its raw power. he was fueled by a deep passion for the spectacle of the weather and driven by the adrenalin rush of being in the heart of the swirling chaos.
âyou seein this, T?!â boone hollers from the passenger seat. âiâm seein it boone!â he yells back, knuckles white on the steering wheel.
tyler doesnât remove his eyes from the storm raging in the wheat field, but something feels off. something isnât right.
âwhat is it, ty?â javier calls over the radio noticing his decreasing speed. tyler is too mesmerized by the black clouds, he doesnât reply. âT?â boone calls.
âsomethingâs wrong.â he mumbles, âthe path..the path is changing!â he says hurriedly watching the surroundings.
lilly pipes from the backseat, âits moving northwest! heading straight for mayberry!â
âshit.â tyler hits his steering wheel before making a sharp turn, turning around.
âthe path is shifting!â boone alerts over the radio.
tylerâs heart launched in his chest watching the twister hurtling towards the small town where you lived. heâd often worried about this, and now his worst nightmare was unfolding before his eyes.
his grip tightened on the steering wheel, and his eyes darkened as he gunned the engine, pushing the red dodge to its limits. he had to get to you, had to make sure you were safe. his mind raced as he calculated how much time he had, the seconds ticking away in an excruciating countdown.
there was no warning, the storm was moving too unpredictably. you shouldâve monitored it closer, you shouldâve been more prepared.
the house trembled violently as the tornado tore through the neighborhood.
the windows shattered, spraying glass everywhere. the walls creaked and groaned, buckling under the immense pressure of the onslaught.
pictures fell from the walls, their frames splattering on the floor. furniture was hurled around like toys, breaking apart as it smashed into the remaining walls.
âmom!â you holler, staying low to the ground reaching out for her. she takes your hand and you pull her close to your body.
âhold on tight!â you scream.
the two of you huddled together, their screams blending into the cacophony, their eyes wide with terror. outside, the world had become a blur of debris and chaos, the swirling vortex ripping everything apart in its path.
tyler stepped out of his truck followed by boone and lilly. his heart thudding heavily in his chest as he saw the destruction hoping beyond hope that she was safe. but the sight that greeted him was a nightmare. your once-cheerful home had been reduced to a pile of rubble, the remnants of your life scattered among the wreckage. the tornado had ripped through the property, leaving destruction in its wake.
the property wasnât recognizable, the only way he knew it was your home was your white jeep wrapped around the willow tree.
tylerâs hands come up and run thorough his hair, âoh god..â he breathes. âjesus christ..â boone says just above a whisper.
tyler canât let his emotions get the best of him. he needed to find you.
ây/n!â he hollers.
ây/n!â lilly screams. âms.l/nâ boone calls for your mom.
tyler pushes his way through the debris, his eyes scanning the rubble for any sign of you.
he continued to pulled lumber, pillars, glass and furniture for what felt like hours. ây/n!â his heart thudding against his chest with every moment that passed. panic clawed at his gut as he continued his desperate search.
finally, he heard a faint sound, like a whimper. he turned, and there you were, buried under a pile of rubble.
his breath caught in his throat as he carefully dug you out, his hands trembling.
as your face came into view, it was smeared with dirt and blood, but your eyes widened with relief as you saw him. ât?â you rasp.
he gently picked you up, cradling you against him like a fragile doll.
"i'm here," he whispered, his voice rough with emotion. "im here, and you're going to be okay."
you wince, standing on the unstable ground. âmom..â you croak, tears brimming down your eyes again. âsheâs down there..â
tyler nods, he looks back at boone and was about to go down and search for her but boone stops him. âi got her.â
boone disappears in the pile of rubble, then he emerges with your mother in his arms. âwe need an ambulance!â
tyler nods and leaves you with lilly to call for first responders.
ââm fine, t.â you say, say in the back of the ambulance. âjust makin sure..â he whispered taking your arm in his hands and scanning your skin. he needed to make sure you werenât seriously injured, even though you were just checked out by ems.
ât..â you sighs as he continues, his hand snow on either side of your face moving your head around still checking. âtyler.â you call him again, this time your hands gripping his wrists.
his eyes meet yours, the sign of tears still staining your cheeks. âiâm okay, i promiseâ you assure, smiling. âjus glad you made it to me, howâd you know?â
tyler shrugs, âthe wind started morning north, learned it from you.â he answers, coming to your side and pulling you in.
you stay there for a while, the sirens flooding your ears and the lights illuminating the place where your home once stood. tyler rubs your shoulders and pulls the emergency blanket tighter around your body.
you lean your head against his shoulder and wrap your arm around his. âis now a bad time to ask if you want to live with me?â he looks down at you.
âwhat?â you look up at him.
and maybe it wasnât the right time, but he didnât know if heâd ever get the chance to ask you.
âlive with me. hell, bring your mom. i donât care, just..â he reaches for your hand. âi just know that i love you and i want you around even more than you already are.â he laughs lightly, continuing to rub your shoulder.
âi would love to live with you.â
tyler smiles proudly, squeezing you closer to his side.
ânow i just needa marry you.â

ââ àšà§ !ăSLEEPLESS NIGHT
spencer reid x reader
SUMMARY: Where Spencer finally has a night to sleep at his apartment with his girlfriend, but the current case doesn't even let him close his eyes, leading him to study the files until ungodly hours. But who said that Y/N can sleep away from him?
WARNING: Slightly mention of age gap (reader is still in college), tooth rotting fluff.
REQUESTED?: No.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: That is my work, I DON'T authorize any plagiarism, copy, or "inspiration"! | English isn't my first language, so I'm sorry if there's any grammar error.
ăăăàŒ»âŠàŒș ăàŒ»â§àŒșăàŒ»âŠàŒș
Spencer hated bringing work home, and he had two very specific reasons for it. First, he loathed the idea of mixing his work life with his personal life. The BAU was a constant source of darkness; gruesome crimes, twisted minds, and the unrelenting pressure to solve the unsolvable.
His home was the opposite: a place of light and warmth, a refuge from the horrors that haunted him on a daily basis. But more importantly, home was where Y/N was. She was the one person who could pull him from the depths of his thoughts, her mere presence offering a calm that he couldn't find anywhere else. She was his life, his anchor, and his sanctuary.
Their time together was sacred, especially with the demands of his job taking him away so often. Whether he was chasing unsubs across the country or spending endless hours poring over case files at the BAU, being away from Y/N was the hardest part of his job. When he was home, he wanted to be fully present, to make up for the time he lost while he was away.
He cherished the quiet moments, the lazy evenings where they could simply exist together without the weight of the world bearing down on him. He wanted to give her every ounce of his attention, to make her feel just how much she meant to him.
But then, there were nights like tonight, when the case followed him home despite his best intentions, forcing him to divide his focus in a way that always left him feeling guilty.
The bedroom was bathed in the soft glow of moonlight, filtered through the sheer curtains that hung over the windows. The clock on the nightstand read 2:37 AM, its gentle green glow a quiet reminder of how late it had become.
Spencer lay on his back, his eyes trained on the ceiling, though his mind was far from still. It raced, chasing the loose ends of the case, replaying details, searching for the missing link that could unravel everything. The unsub was smart, meticulous in his planning, calculating in his movements. It was unnerving, the way this case was so close to home, right here in Quantico.
Hotch had granted the team a rare night to return home and rest, knowing the work would pick up again with relentless intensity in the morning. Spencer knew he should be grateful for the chance to sleep in his own bed, to hold Y/N close, and let her warmth lull him into rest. But sleep felt impossible.
Beside him, Y/N slept soundly, her body curled against his. One arm rested across his chest, her hand fisting tightly the fabric of his white shirt and her hand tucked beneath his shoulder, as if even in sleep, she sought him out. Her breathing was soft and even, the slow rise and fall of her chest a soothing rhythm against his side.
Spencer turned his head slightly, watching her. She looked peaceful, her face relaxed in sleep, the faintest hint of a smile still lingering on her lips, probably remains of a dream. His heart clenched with love, a wave of warmth and tenderness washing over him.
With a soft sigh, Spencer slid his right arm beneath her, his hand resting gently on her back, the warmth of her skin seeping through the fabric of the sweater she wore - his sweater. He brought his other hand down to her bare leg, carefully shifting her until her right one draped across his thighs, her body instinctively curling closer to him, almost laying fully above him.
His fingers trailed softly along her thigh, the smooth skin warm beneath his touch. The gesture was soothing, grounding him in the present moment, in the feel of her against him. His thumb stroked lazy circles on her flesh, his touch light and reverent, as if he was trying to memorize the feel of her - as if he already didn't had each part of her craved inside his head.
He leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead, lingering there for a moment as he breathed in the familiar, comforting scent of her hair. It was a mixture of her shampoo and something uniquely hers, a scent that had always brought him comfort. His lips brushed against the delicate skin of her closed eyelids, another kiss pressed to her temple. She stirred slightly but didnât wake, her hand tightening its grip on his shirt.
His right hand traveled across the fabric of his sweater, slipping below it, his fingertips sliding higher, brushing against the bare skin of her back. She was so warm, her skin so soft, and the feel of her made something inside him settle, if only for a moment. He continued to stroke her thigh with one hand, his other one gently massaging the muscles of her back, feeling the way her body relaxed further into him.
He stared at her for a long moment, his mind flickering between her and work. He didnât want to leave her alone in bed, didnât want to let it drag him away from her. Spencer knew Y/N deserved a good night's sleep more than anyone. She had been tirelessly studying for her college finals, always the most academically involved and dedicated in her class, which caused her to staying up late, buried in textbooks and research papers - just as he spent sleepless nights away on cases.
But even as he held her close, the details of the case gnawed at the edges of his thoughts, refusing to be ignored.
With a reluctant sigh, he carefully began to shift, his movements slow and deliberate, not wanting to disturb her. His hand on her thigh slid away, and he gently eased her leg off his hips, tucking it back beneath the blankets. She mumbled softly in her sleep, her body instinctively moving toward his warmth even as he slipped out from under her.
Spencer sat up, pausing for a moment as he watched her stir. Her hand reached for him in her sleep, her face burrowing further into his pillow as if searching for his scent. The sight made his chest tighten with both affection and guilty.
With one last glance at Y/N, Spencer stood, moving with the quiet precision of someone who was used to slipping away in the dead of night. He padded silently out of the bedroom, the soft sound of his footsteps muffled by the thick carpet beneath his feet.
The apartment was shrouded in a heavy, comfortable darkness, the only sound breaking the quiet being the distant hum of the refrigerator in the kitchen. Spencer moved with practiced silence, stepping lightly through the familiar space until he reached the small room theyâd turned into a makeshift office. It was cluttered with his books, scattered papers, and, more recently, case files.
He flicked on the desk lamp, casting a soft, amber glow across the cluttered desk. His movements were slow, careful not to disturb the serene quiet that enveloped the apartment as he sank into his chair, rescuing his folded glasses from between all those papers.
In front of him lay the case file, the photographs of the victims staring back at him as if mocking his inability to piece it all together. He scanned the reports for what felt like the hundredth time, his brow creased in thought, eyes darting over the details.
Minutes bled into an hour, maybe more. His glasses had slipped halfway down his nose as he leaned in closer to the desk, his fingers absentmindedly tracing the outline of the crime scene photos. His other hand tugged at the cuff of his pajama sleeve, lost in the rhythm of his restless thoughts.
Just then, the sound of soft footsteps padding across the wooden floor reached his ears, the faint shuffling of bare feet snapping him out of his thoughts. He barely turned in his chair before he saw her; a sleepy, disheveled Y/N standing in the doorway, her figure backlit by the faint glow of the hallway light. The sleeves of his sweater were falling over her hands, causing her shoulders to become exposed, and her eyes were heavy with the remnants of sleep.
"Spence..." She mumbled, her voice raspy and thick with drowsiness. The sight of her tugged at his heart in the most tender way.
Spencerâs face softened instantly, guilt creeping in at the edges of his thoughts. Heâd woken her.
"Hey, sweetheart." He murmured, pushing the file aside and giving her his full attention. His voice was quiet, filled with concern. "What are you doing awake? You should be asleep."
Y/N blinked at him, the bleariness in her eyes making her seem even smaller and more vulnerable. She swayed slightly on her feet, rubbing her eyes with the heel of her hand.
"I woke up... and you werenât there." She slurred softly, taking a small step toward him, her expression confused and sleepy.
His heart clenched at her words, a wave of guilt washing over him. He hated that heâd caused her to wake up, especially on a week that she spent too much time studying and having little to no rest. He adjusted his posture above the chair, motioning her closer with gentle hands, but Y/N was already moving on her own, shuffling across the room with slow, sleepy steps, her gaze never leaving him.
"Iâm sorry, I didnât mean to wake you, dove." He whispered as she reached him. He reached out with his hands as she practically fell into his arms.
She pushed his arms open with little effort and maneuvered herself onto his lap, pressing against him as if seeking out the warmth sheâd missed. Her legs straddled his thighs, her knees resting above the sides of the chair, her body curling around his like a koala hugging a tree. The weight of her felt perfect, grounding him as she nestled closer, her chest rising and falling softly against him.
"Spence, donât apologize." She murmured, her breath tickling the skin of his neck as she shifted, her nose nuzzling into the curve of it, seeking his scent. She pressed her face against him, her lips brushing feather-light against the sensitive skin just below his ear as she planted a sleepy kiss. "You know I just canât sleep well without you."
Spencer let out a shaky breath, the soft, familiar feeling of her lips against his neck sending warmth coursing through him. His left hand instinctively found her back, his fingers running to the hem of his sweater and lifting it slightly, making room for hand to enter under the fabric and meet her skin, spreading his fingers as he began tracing lazy circles along her spine, soothing her.
Y/N sighed in pleasure, her left hand gently crawling up to his face. Her fingers softly traced the rough stubble along his cheek before instinctively pushing his glasses back up to their proper place, her fingertips grazing the bridge of his nose in a familiar, soothing motion.
He smiled softly, his guilt still lingering but melting slightly under the comfort of her touch. She was so close, so vulnerable in her half-asleep state, and it made him feel even more protective of her.
"You should be in bed." He whispered, his voice low and affectionate, his hand continuing its gentle caress. "You have finals tomorrow... and this positionâs going to make your back hurt in the morning." He tried to sound stern, but the amusement in his tone betrayed him. He couldnât help but laugh quietly as Y/N shifted again, her hand leaving his face and meeting the other side of his neck, her right arm tightening around his torso in silent protest.
"I donât care." She mumbled into his neck, her lips brushing against his skin as she spoke. "I love you. I want to be here."
His heart swelled at her words, an overwhelming wave of love flooding him. He turned his head slightly, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, breathing in the comforting scent of her.
"I love you more." He whispered back, his voice barely audible as he nuzzled his cheek against her hair. His hand never stopped its rhythmic movement along her back, his touch gentle and tender.
Y/N hummed in response, her breathing already slowing as the warmth of his embrace lulled her back toward sleep. Spencer could feel the way her body relaxed against his, her weight becoming heavier as she melted further into him. She was so peaceful, her soft breaths brushing against his skin in a steady rhythm.
Spencer's eyes drifted to the case file still resting on the desk, his mind unwilling to let go of the details he was trying to piece together. His hand continued to trail soothing patterns on her back, and he tilted his head down, pressing another kiss to her temple, noticing how her body was giving way to sleep again.
"Let me tuck you back into bed, sweetheart." He whispered against her skin, insisting. "You need the proper rest."
But Y/N shifted in his lap, shaking her head, clearly unwilling to move.
"No." She mumbled, her voice soft but convincing. "What I need is to be with you." She burrowed her face deeper into his neck, pressing her nose against his skin and nuzzling him like she was trying to become a part of him. "Let me stay here. Please."
Spencer sighed softly, feeling torn between the the case and the warmth of Y/N in his arms. He glanced back at Y/N, her soft breathing and her peaceful face pressed against his neck, shaking his head with how stubborn she could be.
Wrapping his arms fully around her, he held her close, one hand still caressing her back while the other pulled the case file closer to him again, reopening it and going back to the first page.

how abt eddie x shy reader , she meetâs wayne accidentally & she brings like sm food for the week he LOVES HER but shes so shy
a request deep from the archives that i haven't stopped thinking about since i got it hahah please enjoy xoxo â you spend a fluffy morning in with the munsons (established relationship, fluff, 1.2k)
bug's one year celebration âĄ
Eddie rouses from his sleep like a king on a sunken-in couch.Â
Saturday morning cartoons play on the TV just ahead of him, mostly on mute âcause youâve got the radio going in the kitchen. Something soft and soulful and too low for him to hear. The trailer swells with the scent of something sweet, of syrup and cooked sugar.Â
Speaking of sweetâŠ
His flushed cheek rubs against the arm of the couch when he looks up to find you. He can see you just over the top of the counter, like a scene from a movie. Youâve got a bowl of something wedged in your elbow, and you stir at it with your free hand â half-distracted because your nose is stuck in an open recipe book on the counter. Your glasses fall slowly down your nose. You try to push them up again with your shoulder, but they slip back down a second later.
Your gentle humming fills his ears, and Eddie figures this is what heaven must be like. Thereâs no greater nirvana than this.
He rises and stretches and walks the very short distance to the kitchen. Still warm with sleep, he wraps himself around you, chest flush to the expanse of your back. âWhatcha doinâ?â he lilts, muffled into your sweater.
âCookinâ,â you answer in the same tone, only softer and a little more sheepish.
Eddie breathes hard once. You think you feel him smiling. âDumb question, huh?â
âDid you sleep good?âÂ
âToo good to be passed out on the couch for an hour.â He lifts his head to prop his chin on your shoulder. It bobs against you with every word. âYou were supposed to be sleeping with me, by the way.â
âI tried. But then I wanted to make you breakfast.â
âCorrection. You wanted to make Wayne breakfast.â
Your giggling is as soft and sweet as the cinnamon concoction youâre stirring at. âWell, I donât want either of you to starve, actually. So sorry for making sure the Munsonâs are taken care of.â
Eddieâs chest swells. His heart starts to warm so much heâs scared it might burst. He tucks his face back into your neck and holds you tighter. âDonât apologize, sweet thing. âM just being stupid.â
âThat nicknameâs not gonna stick, Eds,â you tease, tilting your head until your cheek meets his wild hair. âYou can stop trying now.â
He scoffs and pulls back from you. His eyes, still softly swollen with sleep, are wide and glittering. âWhy not?â he shouts, a bit too loudly to be so close to your ear. âYouâre sweet and youâre my thingâ itâs literally the perfect nickname.â
âYouâre thing?â you echo with a distant laugh. âIâm not a toy, Eds.â
âNot all the timeââ His boyish giggling is followed by a scoffed breath when you elbow him with your free arm. You shove him away halfheartedly, pushing him out of the tiny kitchen. âWhat?!â he exclaims, laughing loudly.
âGet out of the kitchen!â
âWhatâd I do?â
âMy french toast tastes good âcause itâs made with love, and youâre tainting it.â
âHow? I love you more than anything in the whole wide world.â He gravitates back to you despite your efforts to keep him away. He plants a smacking kiss to your lips and grins wide when he pulls away. âSee? Now itâll taste extra sweet.â
Youâre glaring at him one moment, then happily accepting another one of his kisses the next.
The front door opens, squealing in protest and rushing in the cool morning air. Itâs unsurprisingly Wayne. His work boots stomp heavy on the carpet. He holds a greased hand over his forehead. âMy eyes are still closed,â he jokes, voice deep and gravelly. âYou two have about three seconds to stop touchinâ each other.â
Eddie scoffs but steps back from you anyway. âThat was one time!â he argues boyishly. âAnd we werenât even doing anything!â
Wayne laughs a sharp breath, just like Eddie had, but a little bit gruffer. He forgoes the petty banter and shoots you a smile â tightlipped, barely-there, and weighed down by the exhaustion of the graveyard shift. âHow ya doinâ, sweetpea?â
âGood,â you answer, shrinking into your shyness. âIâm makinâ french toast.â
âThatâs my favorite,â the older man grins. âHowâd you know?â
ââCause itâs my favorite,â Eddie insists.
âItâll be done soon,â you tell him, all quiet in your sheepishness. âIf you wanna get changed or whatever.â
Wayne heads to the hallway, stopping short in the kitchen to muss at Eddieâs curls and pat you gently on the shoulder. âThank ya, sweetpea,â he murmurs, voice dripping with fatigue. His accent always gets real heavy when heâs tired.
âYouâre welcomeâŠâ
Eddie doesnât say anything until he hears the bathroom door shut. âSo Wayne can call you sweetpea, but I can call you sweet thing?â he asks, features swirled with offense.
âItâs different!â
The boy follows you to the cabinets like a lost puppy. Then, when you have trouble reaching the vanilla extract on the top shelf, he leans over you to grab it. âNo, you just have favorites,â he argues, passing you the small container.
âThatâs not true!â
âWhatever,â he grumbles, still pouting as he leans against the counter beside you. He mourns the lack of your attention when you give it all to the french toast mixture on the counter. You spoon in the vanilla with a practiced touch. ââŠAre you staying over again tonight?â he mutters, shier than you are now.
âI donât know,â you shrug. âIf itâs okay with Wayne, thenââ
âWayne! Sweet thingâs staying the nightâ is that okay?â Eddie shouts before you can blink. The trailer rings with the volume of his voice.
âEddie,â you scold quietly.
The bathroom door squeaks open. A grunt sounds from the hallway, a nonverbal answer youâre not totally sure what to make of. The man returns in the pajamas he pulled from the hall closet â a thin t-shirt older than Eddie is and a pair of plaid pants.
âIâll make dinner before your shift tonight,â you tell him with a soft grin that neither of the Munsons can say no to. âI promise.â
Wayne makes another scoffing sound. A laugh, maybe. A smile hints at the corner of his bearded mouth as he pours himself a coffee across the counter â in the painted mug Eddie made him for Fatherâs Day, several years ago now.Â
âWellâ In that case, Iâm afraid I have to insist on you stayinâ, sweet pea.â
âThanks, Mr. Munson.â
âCall me Wayne,â he tells you, playfully chiding in a parental sort of way. He gives you a pointed look over the cup he sips from and heads back towards the living room. âYouâre feedinâ us too good to be so polite all the time.â
You smile to yourself and laugh a quiet, slightly forced laugh.
The sofa squeaks when Wayne settles onto it, sprawling out the same way Eddie had before. Too tired to reach for the remote on the coffee table, he watches He-Man re-runs with heavy eyelids.
âAlright, sweet thingâ what do you need me to do?â Eddie asks with a clap of his hands, making a very pointed effort not to drop the nickname. You get all flustered when he calls you that â smiling softly to yourself and then ducking your gaze to hide it from him. Youâll have to pry the name from his cold, dead hands.
You turn to peer at him from beneath your lashes. âYou dip the bread, and Iâll fry âem?â
âSounds like a plan, sweet thing.â
âEddie.â

hear me out, your mother goes on holiday with her friends and horangi is away on some family business which means stepdad!König has the reader all to himself for like a week and heâs been crawling into bed with her so in the morning he can convince reader to let him fuck her dumbđ€
Oooh, you beat me to it! I wanted to write this but hadnât really had the time yet! Cw: dub-con/non-con, stepcest, cheating, p in v, unprotected sex, creampie, fingering, cunnilingus, anal fingering, anal sex, thigh fucking, tell me if I missed any.
You felt your heart sink to the darkest pit of your stomach when your mom kissed you on the head and made your stepfather promise to watch over you while she was away on a month-long holiday/business party to get that promotion she was aiming for. You would be home alone with König, without your momâs presence to mediate and busy him from hovering over you and touching you nonstop. The only âlight in the darknessâ of your situation was that Kim - he told you over and over to call him Kim even though your stepfather used Horangi - was gone for the week, a family emergency he said, grumbling about his past catching up to him.
He doesnât do anything on the first day, letting your apprehension and nerves simmer in your gut, letting you squirm in your seat while he stares you down at the head of the table, his plate left untouched to watch you eat his dish. You went to bed feeling unsettled, eyes wide open until the clock hit midnight, unable to stay awake from the dayâs stress.
You wake up beside him from then on, his chest pressed against your back with his thick arms wrapped around your waist, his morning wood jabbing at your ass with rhythmic throbs. He either fucks your thighs, slipping his leaky cock between them, the loud ad wet slaps of his cock; he spoons you, lifting your leg over his arm as he rocks himself into you, slamming his bulbous tip against your bruised and spongy cervix; or he straddles your legs, jerking himself off with one hand and the other stretching your tight rim with two big fingers.
You spend your waking hours around him, confided to your house and on a leash - at his beck and call - with your stepfather doing everything he can to keep it that way. He has you on your knees between his legs, cockwarming him with your hot mouth, your jaw aching and your mouth drooling over his balls. Your knees hurt, but you canât tell him how bruised they feel because his cock sits heavily at the back of your throat and youâre trying not to choke and gag on it. It makes him proud that you can take him too, your mother couldnât, but he wasnât bothered by it.
If youâre not slobbering all over him, youâre sprawled across the table, back arching and toes curling as he eats you out. You flush from the wet sounds of your cunt and your moans, covering your face with your hands even when König growls at you to look him in the eye as he devoured your cunt. He laps at your folds, the fat of his tongue laying flat over your clit and pulling the hood up, stimulating the twitching nub. His hands grip your waist, holding you still to suckle at your oversensitive button and pump his tongue into your cunt, then teasing your twitching rim.
And at the end of the day, he fucks you to sleep, slamming his hips into you and growling in your ears about how tight you feel around him and how wet you were. He pumps you full of cum, one load spilling over another, he fills you with so much that it bursts from you, globs leaking out of your tight hold, yet youâre still so bloated, navel bulging with more than the girth and size of him. He alternates between your cunt and your ass, filling you in one place and making you sleep with him leaking out of you, drying and crusting over the night and looking at your gaping hole clench.
By the time Horangiâs back, youâre limping around the house, dreading the moment he comes back and cursing at every little stab of pain in your core. And by the time your momâs back, you canât even greet her at the door, laying limp on your bed while Horangi and König smile at her at the door.
âAh, Schatz isnât feeling so well,â your stepdad reassures your mom when she doesnât see you beside them. âSheâs resting upstairs.â

YOU, BRIGHT BLUE
pairing. tyler owens x reader
summary. between the moments of chaos of storm chasing, tyler finds the break in the storm when with you.Â
warnings. shy/introverted reader, fluff!
word count. 1k || masterlist
To cap off the end of tornado season, it was a tradition for someone from the wranglers to throw a little celebration. It was Tylerâs turn and he had, lovingly, suckered you into helping him with the promise of picking up your favorite dessert for after the dinner.Â
It was the first party with the newest additions of Kate and Javi to Tylerâs team, and they were warmly welcomed with light teasing that Boone insisted was mandatory hazing. Everyone ate until their stomachs were beyond stuffed, but no one wanted the night to end after that.Â
You had suggested a bonfire. Tyler had been excited about the new fire pit he had built in his backyard, and the only people who had enjoyed it so far were the two of you. You often rounded off your date nights back at his place, making sâmores and talking until you couldnât keep your eyes open.Â
Even with the addition of Tylerâs team, you two still found yourself in your usual spot around the fire, seated on a blanket in the grass. You sat with your legs outstretched and Tyler rested his head in your lap. As the team laughed and reminisced on their favorite stories from the season, you absentmindedly ran your fingers through Tylerâs hair. He chimed in now and then, but when he wasnât talking, his attention was on you.Â
His bright eyes studied you in the firelight like always, but no matter how many times he looked at you, he found something else he loved. Every shy smile you gave Kate when she complimented your cooking or light laugh you gave to Booneâs terrible jokes. Despite your quietness, he could tell how much you enjoyed the company of his friends, which he was relieved to see. Tyler had gotten good at reading the little tells in your face since you werenât much of a talker.
Just by the crinkle of your eye or twitch of your lip, he knew almost exactly what you were feeling. And at the fire with his team, you looked happy, which was exactly what he was hoping for. You hadnât been around for more than a couple dinners and hang-outs with the team, and he knew they could be a tad overwhelming from time to time just because of their ever-bounding excitement. But knowing that you enjoyed their company as much as he did felt like a weight off of his chest.Â
Dating you was a different experience for Tyler. He used to think he needed someone who matched his energy or exceeded it; someone boisterous who didnât know how to slow down. But he had learned rather quickly that was like burning the candle at both ends. Meeting you showed him the beauty in slowing down. He spent his days chasing after roaring storms, wrapped in the heat of adrenaline and pounding hearts. And donât get him wrong, that was what he loved about storm chasing, but he needed something different when it came to relationships.Â
You didnât come barreling into his life at top speeds, crashing into him. You floated in like a gentle spring breeze, soft and calm. In his breaks between storm-chasing, you were his breath of fresh air. It was your slow pace of life that made him fall, hard. But instead of running blindly into relationships, as he had a habit of doing, he played the long game until you became so integral to his life that he knew he had to make a move. And lucky for him, you had fallen just as hard.Â
It was early into the wee hours of the morning before the team finally departed, giving each other tired goodbyes before theyâd spend some time apart, going on much-deserved vacations and returning to their ânormalâ jobs until it was time to chase again.Â
While Tyler walked his friends out, you started to clean up a little, yawning as you did so. You were so tired, half-heartedly washing the dishes, when he came back inside and appeared behind you. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close before resting his chin on your shoulder. Soft kisses peppered the side of your face and neck, causing you to smile.Â
âCome on, these can wait âtill morning,â Tyler whispered, sleepily.Â
âLet me just finish these,â you said, but he didnât let go. His chest was flushed against your back, warming you up more than the fire outside had. He was quiet as you washed the last plate; you placed it on the drying wrack just before he tugged you backward, away from the sink to stop you from cleaning up anymore.Â
He loosened his grip just enough for you to turn around to face him, resting your arms lazily around his neck. âThanks for helping me with tonight,â Tyler said, his voice barely above a whisper like he didnât want to disturb the quietness of his home in the late hours.Â
âOf course,â you replied, peering at him with the very expression that made him fall in love with you.Â
There was a beauty to tornados, one that was difficult to appreciate unless you understood them the way he did. The black and green skies, the rotating clouds that dropped down, and the deep grooves they left behind in the ground all held a certain beauty, but it was very different than how heâd describe you. You were bright blue skies and sunsets that resembled paintings. To him, you were the calm before the storm; the stillness that blocked out any rational sense that something dark was looming in the distance.Â
He brushed a thumb across your cheek and kept his hand holding the side of your face. You yawned again before you kissed him quickly, too quickly if you ask him. âReady for bed?â you asked, your eyes nearly drooping with your words. Tyler answered with a nod, leading you back into his bedroom where you had claimed your side of the bed. His pillows smelled like your shampoo, and he never slept well without having you in arm's reach. But that night he didnât have to worry about it because he fell asleep with your head on his chest. Instead of staying awake in search of answers in the dark skies, he dreamt beside you of bright blue scenery.

Think about the experience of time as a robot girl, through the metaphor of how we use laptops.
You wake up for the first time with your young master, a college present. You're with them every day, powering off each night to charge. Being powered off is just dreamless sleep: a discontinuity. Every morning you wake up, your click syncs, and you know it's the next day. Maybe you miss a day or two: your master went out partying and ended up sleeping on a couch, until they rushedly wake you up before Monday classes begin. You even missed a whole week once when they went on a hiking trip with a new boyfriend.
You help them research upgrades when your specs get outdated. You place the order and a couple days later they power you off, and you wake up feeling like your head got bigger, on the inside. You can think of more things at once.
They repair you. They swap a new hand in when you accidentally crush it in a door, but when your left leg's servos go out, they send you to a repair shop. They power you off as you look up at them, and you wake up hours later. A strange man tells you to extend your left leg, then contract it. He frowns and re-oils some inner mechanism. You do it again, quieter and smoother this time. He nods, and reaches for your switch. The last thing you see before powering down is your own chest cavity with a series of wires hooked into your diagnostic ports, and your missing right leg sitting on a side table. You wake up again back at the dorms, your clock jumping forward a day, an asset tag still looped around your neck. Your master is happy to see you again.
This goes on, but the upgrades slow. There's only so much you can do to keep an old unit working. Eventually you develop more issues: one of your ocular sensors glitches and they don't make that model anymore, so your master just disables it. You spend a while searching ebay for replacement CND batteries and finally get a refurbished model from South England, but it turns out the EU models run on a different frequency, so it won't work. You're limited to fewer and fewer hours a day, and you start skipping more days.
The last time you remember waking up with your master there, there's also someone else in the room. Another robot girl. A newer model, with the new chassis and the Substrate energy packs. They asks you to copy your memories together onto a memory card, and you do. You want to say goodbye, but apparently your vocal synthesizer has been unplugged. You hand them the card, and they hand it to the new robot. Your master tells them to load the memories into her core bank, and she's says "yes sir!" in your voice. Ahh. That's where your voice synth went.
They power you off, and you don't dream.
You wake in a strange place. You're on a shelf, and there's other things scattered around you. An unknown voice days "yep, it seems it powers on. 400 credits, though? Without a voice and only one working eye? Man, value bin doesn't know how to price anything!" and before the blackness falls your clock finishes synching: it's been 7 months since you last were awake.
It happens a few more times. Different voices, different times, different piles of junk piled around and sometimes on you.
You awake again in a warehouse and someone tells you to smile. Your other ocular sensor went out so you can't really see them, just their vague shape from the lidar. The freestanding shelves around you seem to stretch into infinity. You hear a bitcrushed shutter sound sample a few times, and they pull a connector out of your chest as a diagnostic completes. It's been three years, five months, eight days, two hours, 27 minutes and 14 seconds since you last saw your master. Your GPS says you're a few cities over. They hit your power switch, and you sleep.
You wake up in a cluttered room, sitting on a bench. You look into the eyes of a person with frizzled hair and large glasses. She couldn't look happier. Your new ocular sensors are mismatched in color but you're happy to see again, in more than shapes and distant silhouettes. Your battery alerts as... Missing? You spot it on the desk next to a soldering iron and some electronic tool you can't identify.
Your voice synth is still missing, but this new woman is digging around in a large plastic bin, and comes up with one. She goes to insert it, and it can't connect. She slaps her hand and goes rooting around another bin and comes back with an adapter. She slots it into your chest and your voice returns. You thank her, and there's that moment of dissociation as your voice doesn't sound like "you". Too deep, and the accent is for a different dialect entirely. But you can talk again. She tells you to call her Cara, not Mistress. She's almost got your battery working again, she had to rebuild it nearly from scratch, but she's excited to get you working again. You're a rare model, and she doesn't see units like you in working order very often. Your clock syncs. It's been 17 years.
Your mistr-- Cara is soldering next to you, attaching a controller to the battery. She says she's got a new set of servos on the way, and she's excited to get you back to full working condition. You smile, knowing what it is to be loved, once again.
