Jake:  Alright, moving on from the usual weekend predictions—there’s been a bit of... let’s call it energy coming from McLaren lately. Obviously, Silverstone is always a big one for the British drivers—Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and of course, Lando Norris. But I have to say… there’s something going on at McLaren, and specifically with Lando, and they are being very tight-lipped about it.

Emma: Yeah, something is definitely brewing over there. And I’m not talking about car upgrades…There’s been this weird… I don’t know, energy? Around McLaren. Like, normally, they’re very open with their media content. They love a good teaser, they love stirring up excitement. But this time? It’s like they’re trying not to say something

Jake: Which, historically, means something is up. Because let’s be real, McLaren PR loves a good hype moment. But this? It’s different. They’re trying really hard to keep a lid on it.

Emma: And it’s not contract-related, as far as we know. Lando’s locked in. It’s not a last-minute driver swap. So, what are we thinking?

Jake: My money’s on a personal announcement.

Emma: Oh, absolutely. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a WAG situation.

Jake: You think Lando’s finally gone public with someone?

Emma: Maybe? Or at least, something’s happening where they know the media will ask about it, and they’re trying to get ahead of it.

Jake: Or, hear me out, it’s even bigger.

When Elizabeth Treshton first started writing Season of Fate, she had no audience in mind—just a story itching to be told.

“I was twenty, home from university for the summer, and just writing for fun,” she recalls. “I’d sit in my dad’s garden with a notebook, scribbling away, thinking maybe one day I’d finish something just for myself.”

That “something” became a literary sensation. The Seasons of Fate series has since sold millions of copies worldwide, with a devoted fanbase that dissects every detail, from character arcs to hidden lore. The upcoming film adaptation of A Spring of Secrets and Thorns has only heightened the excitement, turning Treshton into one of the most talked-about authors in romantasy today.

And yet, she still seems a little surprised by it all.

“I don’t think I ever fully processed how big it’s gotten,” she admits with a laugh. “Every time I see someone with my book, I have to resist the urge to ask if they’re enjoying it.”

The Unexpected Rise

Writing While Living with Epilepsy

Treshton has been open about her journey with epilepsy, something she’s lived with since childhood. It’s a condition that affects her daily life, including her writing process.

“There are days when I can write 5,000 words without stopping,” she says. “And there are days when my brain just says, ‘Nope, not today.’”

She’s learned to listen to those limits. “For a long time, I thought I had to push through everything. But then I realized that rest is just as important as work.”

Her service dog, Mara, plays a huge role in maintaining that balance.

“She’s my shadow,” Treshton says, glancing down as Mara, a brown Labrador, dozes beside her. “She keeps me safe, but she also keeps me grounded. If I’ve been working too long, she’ll put her head on my laptop and sigh dramatically until I take a break.”

Mara has become a beloved fixture in the Season of Fate fandom, with fans drawing art of her as various mythical creatures from the books.

“I love that people adore her as much as I do,” Treshton says. “She deserves all the attention.”

A Love Story of Her Own

For someone who has built a career on writing sweeping, emotionally charged romances, Treshton has always been remarkably private about her own love life.

When asked if her stories are inspired by personal experience, she hesitates for a moment, then smiles.

“Not at first,” she admits. “I used to think love was something that only happened to other people. Not me.”

Let’s talk about Spencer Reid’s love for Penelope Garcia.

From season 1 Garcia and Reid always had a special bond that Reid didn’t have with the others. She teased him and scared him like a younger brother and he never seemed to be confused about her intentions; he always knew she was teasing and he responded accordingly. He wasn’t afraid to be annoyed with her or to respond, he seemed really comfortable with her.

Whilst Reid was comfortable all of his team members eventually, in season 1, especially at the beginning, he seemed to have some sort of hesitance towards how he responded to them sometimes but he never showed that with Garcia. She also never showed the same hesitance with him: she didn’t treat him like the weird little nerdy kid but rather how she treated anyone else, she treated him with the same teasing and flirtatious remarks and she was never careful around him. They both were perfectly comfortable with eachother’s weirdness, whether it was Reid teasing her about her illegal hacking or Garcia teasing him about being in a ‘haunted’ house

We see it in bits and pieces through seasons 1-5 with Reid being by Garcia’s bedside the entire time after she was shot in season 3. Then in season 5 they were left together because Reid couldn’t travel due to being shot. Reid is seen doing Garcia’s work with her and the entire time they’re bickering like siblings. Again, we show a comfort between them that we rarely see Reid show. He isn’t nervous in his bickering, he’s willing to meet Garcia right where she is and she’s more than happy to have him there

We begin to see more from them from this point, with Reid matching Garcia’s phone call energy; ‘I will be eagerly awaiting your call’ and their teasing remarks between them; ‘what is he doing with their lips?’ ‘maybe he’s eating them’ ‘that image will forever be burned in my memory’ ‘you asked.’

Then season 7 episode 9 you have them both gushing about a friendly ghost together; again just completely enthralled in eachother’s oddness. In season 9 you have them needing to take the fit test together, here their dynamic is amazing. Again, we see a side to Reid we don’t normally see, where he’s willing to talk smack with Garcia and one that really stood out to me was when he touched Garcia’s arm and said ‘you work out? That’s cool I dont’. Considering he is very not physically affectionate, this was quite cute to me considering how comfortably he did it

When he gets shot in season 9 she’s with him the entire time and even protects him by shooting someone which I’m pretty sure is the first time she’s ever actually shot a gun

You have them going to conventions together and breaking the law together by breaking and hacking into Government files

Then we have him bringing her a croissant because he heard she was hungry to which she responds ‘oh you love me and I love you!’ To which he nods; again, up to this point he’s never shown such comfort with someone

Then you have him kissing her head and hugging her in season 12; again, consider the fact that he’s a huge germphobey

You have them getting kidnapped together and stressing to eachother how important to the team the other is

And then in season 15 you have her being at the hospital with him and being in charge of talking to Diana about his injuries, further showing how close they are

‘I will not be dancing at this wedding by myself, do you understand me Dr Reid?’ ‘Yes’ he says with no hesitance or embarrassment

Looking at the way this season, in particular the way that Buck's story line has panned out so far, I'm going to put on my Optimistic Akubra (that's like a bush/stockman's kind of hat for non-Aussies wondering what the hell that is) here and say that Buck and Tommy will be back together by the end of the season.

Read under the cut for my long arse dissertation as to why I think this is the case.

Now I know there have been many of us who have said that Buck and Tommy's story has been following a rom com trope and we're ready for the final third act. I fully agree with this, but I'm not going to look at their story through that lens, but more of that of general storytelling within television, and specifically what we have seen in 911 so far.

While 911 mostly have insular stories, they do have story arcs that carry out throughout a whole season (or even multiple seasons) for their characters. Hen had her medical school arc that lasted for several seasons, this season Eddie's arc has all been about being able to get Christopher back, and this season (last two really, although it's been more prominant this year), Buck's arc has been about his relationship with Tommy. (Yes, his abandonment issues as well, but that's been an arc that has been going on since pretty much day 1, so at this point it's more a point of who Buck is rather than an arc.)

Looking at it through the lens of a GA (or as best as I can), in the last two seasons we've seen Buck meet a guy who blew him away so much it made him realise he was bisexual, start a relationship with this person, be happy with this person, get broken up with only to not be able to stop thinking about this person, meet up (and hook up) with said ex and reveal each other (and the audience) that they both still want to be together only for them to be absolute idiots and part ways again, still hurting (and still baking...). If the season doesn't end with the resolution of them being together and instead Buck is left single and alone once more (it is faaaar too late in the game to suddenly throw in buddie this season if that was what they were going for), it leaves an anticlimactic taste in the audience's mouth. Even if they did have a nice conversation and decide they shouldn't get back together after all, it would leave the audience questioning "what?!? All that pain, and pining, only for them to NOT resolve their differences and get back together, especially when they have shown that they WANT to? What a waste!"

Another thing to look at is all of Buck's partners on the show so far. Tommy has been the longest lasting of any of his love interests to date. You could argue that Taylor has lasted longer as she first appeared in S2 and her last appearance was in one ep of S6, but besides hooking up, they didn't actually get together until the end of S4 and were broken up by the end of S5, whereas while Buck and Tommy were also together for roughly a season, they have a "will they won't they" dynamic still playing out that we know will most likely continue until at least episode 14/15 on an 18 episode season. Now if the plan had always been for Tommy to simply be a "starter relationship", why bother going to all this effort to keep Tommy around? They could have had them break up at the end of last season, although considering how it was reduced to only 10 eps, you could argue they ran out of time to do so. Ok then, why not break them up off screen in the hiatus like they did with Natalia? Instead, even though (I believe) he wasn't initially supposed to be there, they brought Tommy back in the first ep to remind the audience that Buck has a boyfriend (a boyfriend that he was very much into by the way, with all their heavy flirting). Well ok, you could then argue that they wanted to SHOW the breakup. So why bother writing ep 8x05? I mean, as much as we love Tommy, the truth is he hadn't had a lot of screen time - if 8x05 had not existed, the casual viewer wouldn't have been as invested with the breakup. "Oh well, this guy that we see pop up every now and then has broken up with one of our mains. meh, okay, we didn't really see much of them anyway." But Tim decided to create 8x05 AFTER they had already filmed 8x06 because he wanted the breakup to hurt.

Now, I know we were all a bit pissed when we heard this. Thought it was Tim just being cruel towards bucktommy shippers. But thinking objectively, why would he want to be? Bucktommy shippers have been nothing but supportive of the relationship from day 1. We have all loved Tommy's character, the relationship and the storyline. We didn't send death threats or harassed the showrunners or the actors on social media - we were heaping them with praise! Unless he's an absolute sociopath, why would Tim want to hurt us when we appreciated what he was doing? Unless he wasn't intending to hurt us specifically - he wanted to hurt the GA. He wanted that extra episode to flesh out Tommy's character a bit more, show how Buck and Tommy's relationship really worked so that when they broke up, the GA would be upset and want the pair back together. Because with no 8x05, the GA would be wondering why the hell Buck is still pining for this guy weeks and months later.

So why would Tim bother making sure the GA were receptive towards Tommy unless... he had planned on bringing him back? If Tommy wasn't meant to be important to Buck, why bother having him pop up in 8x11? If they wanted to show that Buck was lonely after Eddie left, they could have had him hook up with anyone. But instead, they had him hook up with Tommy. Because he's not just lonely in general - specifically it is Tommy that he misses, it's Tommy he wants to be with. Because despite what they had Maddie say, Buck has been alone before. In fact, he has been alone throughout most of the series! Of the six seasons prior to the shift to abc, he's probably spent at least half of that time single. And no breakup has ever left him as devastated as what Tommy has left him. And furthermore, if they do have Tommy called in to pilot one of the helicopters we've seen in the spoilers for eps 14/15, again, they could have had any pilot do that - Tommy is not the only pilot at Harbor. If they had no intention of reuniting Buck and Tommy, they could have used any random actor and they just do an offhand comment about Tommy not being on shift at the time, or Buck say how they haven't spoken since the breakup etc to effectively write Tommy out of the show. Having Tommy keep popping back into Buck's life is a very deliberate choice that the writers are making.

Now going onto the target audience of 911. 911 is a procedural - it runs on network television where it drops one episode a week for an approximate 18 episode season (this has varied over the years due to multiple factors, so we'll keep it at the 18 average). The style of tv is aimed at the older audience - older millennials through to boomers - who have grown up with this and are used to this style of tv. The younger generations, the streaming era, from what I've seen in the forums of a variety of shows tend to prefer shows with shorter seasons and released in the one shot so they can binge. And on top of that, look at the cast of 911 - the two youngest are Oliver and Ryan at 33 and 37 respectfully. The rest of the cast's ages range from 49 through to 66. It seems only logical that the vast majority of their audience are within this age bracket (and if you look at their viewing figures, you'll see that this is pretty accurate). Their target audience are MOSTLY people who don't go into fandom spaces like tumblr. So we have to remember, that no matter how much the buddie fans bang and crash and scream on all sorts of social media platforms, they are not the majority of the audience. We are not the majority of the audience. 911 pulls in about 3.5 million to 4 million viewers a week. US viewers that is. There are also who knows how many millions of viewers outside of the US (of which I am one). Yet the 911 instagram page only has 965k followers. Their facebook page has just under double that. And of those followers, they don't even get 1% of that number engaging in their posts - the most engagement they get are usually bucktommy and buddie related posts where the buddie fans have a tendency to spam the comments, but even then, those posts get only a maximum of 3-4 thousand comments. Let's face it - the fandom world is MINISCULE compared to the general audience. Tim and co are not going to write to cater for the buddies (although I do believe the last ep was them trying to finally shut buddie down without one of the characters staring down the camera and blatantly saying it, because small as they are, they have caused a lot of harm in the past with their harassment). Hell, they're not going to cater to us either. They're going to cater to the general audience. And what the GA are seeing on screen, what they are being guided by the show to do is cheer on Buck and Tommy. All the show has ever shown is Buck and Eddie as a close friendship, and when you look at the comments from the general audience on facebook (you can tell they are GA as they don't seem to have "fandom speak") many of them (the ones who aren't homophobic and are still hating on bi-Buck that is) are liking Buck and Tommy together. Were upset when they broke up.

We also have to remember that 911 was cancelled back in season 6, before it was picked up by abc for season 7 and beyond. When they made the switch, they probably picked up a lot of new viewers (I've certainly seen plenty of posts on tumblr of people admitting they only started watching from S7). I know we all complain about how 911 has a tendency to recycle stories, but the thing is, not everyone who started watching once it hit abc have either the means or the motivation to go back and watch a whole six seasons to catch up. This could explain why we are getting stories that we thought were wrapped up years ago brought up all over again - Bobby's trauma over losing his family, Eddie's inability to move on from Shannon, Hen and Karen trying to grow their family again etc. Season 7 and 8 have basically been almost a soft reboot of the show or a really long winded "here's what you missed last week on Glee."

So for those viewers who have only ever watched from season 7 onwards, what have they seen of Buck's storyline? Sure, there has been the mention of past ex's (mostly Abbie) but from what the GA have seen, Tommy has been Buck's only love interest. They are onto the second season at abc now, and broken up or not, Tommy is still here. That has to mean something to that audience. That Tommy means something, especially as Lou is not a main. And for those of us who have been here from the beginning? Well, like I said, the show likes to recycle storylines, and we are seeing it here - this story has played out before. But not with Buck - with Chim and Maddie. A couple who seemed so good together, only to break up. One is a runner, the other a clinger. Unable to move on from each other, they end up hooking up, before finally deciding to get back together. Now obviously, they can't reuse that storyline with Maddie and Chim themselves by breaking them up again and redoing it, that would be waaaay too on the nose, but they can certainly do it with someone new, and we are seeing it with Buck and Tommy.

Now, I was GA up until 7x04, until I saw the chemistry that Buck and Tommy had and went looking for fanfiction (which ultimately led me here), so while I admit I have a bias towards Buck and Tommy now, i'm still new enough to this fandom that I can remember what I saw and felt as a member of the GA. I had no idea buddie was such a big thing until I first popped onto Tumblr (although to be fair, I wasn't surprised when I found out - I have been in several different fandoms over the years, and m/m non canon ships always seem to be the favourite. I was surprised at how aggressive they were though, which I really shouldn't have been, as I've unfortunately seen that in other fandoms too). The people in my life who still watch the show and are in NO WAY part of the fandom (I don't think they even know what a fandom IS), are tv watchers only, and have never had the slightest inkling that there might be anything more to Buck and Eddie than friendship. I have seen that sentiment echoed by others here who have told of the reactions of GA members in their lives. Like I said, most of the audience are seeing what the show is telling us. And so far? The show is telling us that Buck is NOT in love with his "straight best friend". That Buck and Tommy still care about each other. They still want to be together. Their story isn't over.

And here is why I think they will reunite by the end of the season (I know, I know, it took me a whole arse ramble to get me to this point). The thing is, they can't wait until next season to resolve Buck and Tommy's story line. People will have lost interest in the what, four/five month long hiatus between seasons? Not including Natalia, because they thought they were being cancelled and wanted Buck to have a happily ever after, but there's a reason that all of Buck's prior relationships have fizzled towards the end of a season - so they can start fresh when the new one begins without the baggage weighing him down (there was obviously baggage following Abbie, but she was a main, so there has to be exceptions made to explain her absence and to be fair, Buck only held on because he thought she was coming back - once he realised she wasn't, there wasn't much pining going on). Hell, almost ALL of the character's major relationship dramas have been resolved by the end of a season (only for fresh ones to pop up at the next) - it's just the way 911 likes to work. But they've broken away from the regular script here. They had Buck and Tommy break up towards the beginning of the season. They deliberately have shown Buck pining and unable to move on. He keeps mentioning Tommy. They brought Tommy back and teased them almost getting back together until they blew it with their communication issues. We know Tommy will be back for the big two parter, and that they will be utilising his skills. Tim and co are going out of their way to try and make Tommy sympathetic (they could very well have made him the absolute villain when he broke up with Buck, but they haven't), to show him as useful and more than just a "bed buddy" for Buck. Why bother with all this effort, with all this character building for a recurring character, if it's going nowhere? Because guaranteed, bringing back Tommy for this one time post breakup has sowed the seeds of a potential reconciliation in the minds of the GA. But bring him back a second time, for a big story line? They will absolutely be expecting by the end of this season, if not before, for them to reunite.

Now am I 100% sure this will happen? Of course not. Will I be upset if they don't get back together? Absolutely. Because no matter how much it makes sense (and now that SWAT has been cancelled, we know Lou will have more time to pop in as a recurring next season so availability shouldn't be an issue, not to mention Lou has said he loves playing Tommy) the writers could decide to ball this all up and throw it in the bin. They have dropped big plot lines before. Hen's med school story for example. I really thought they were going to use that as a way of expanding the 911 world - the 118 do the rescues and then bring them to Hen to save them. And can you imagine the drama of Hen having to work on one of her old teammates? Of her coming in to work on a lightning strike victim only to see it's Buck on the table?!? But nope, all that time, effort and MONEY that Hen would have spent on that education only for her to go "meh." What a waste. Anyway, I digress. There's every chance that Buck and Tommy will never get back together. But what I am saying though, is if the writers do decide to follow the road they have been laying out, it only makes sense for Buck and Tommy to reunite before the season ends.

And I am 100% here for it if they do.

1- Xavier left school so his character is completely forgotten

2- Enid is craving affection and attention a lot

3- Enid's scars healed (I'm so sad about that... bye bye our hopes of Wednesday comforting her about it)

4- Enid's hair is a bit shorter, closer to Emma's real haircut. It's still blond. They also talked about giving her a black streak, but they didn't do it. They will possibly add it next season

5- Ajax broke up with Enid because she kept missing their dates and wasn't really involved in their relationship

6- Ajax disappears through the season but is found at the end

7- Enid has a new boyfriend, Maxim (played by Owen Painter)

8- Maxim is predicted to be loved by the fans

9- Maxim is abusive towards Enid (he grabs her a lot and leaves bruises)

10- Wednesday hates Maxim from the start

11- Wednesday is really protective of Enid during this season

12- Enid breaks up with Maxim in episode 4 (I suppose, as it says mid-season) and it doesn't go well (he's really mad and they almost physically fight. Enid uses her claws)

13- After the break up, Maxim becomes very obsessive

14- Wednesday initiates a hug after Enid comes back to the dorm after the break up

15- Enid and Wednesday will investigate together in every episodes except the first one

16- Maxim takes over the Nightshades and kick Bianca out. His father is said to have old views (I guess similar to Crackstone)

17- Bianca will have a lot of scenes. So does Thing

18- Tyler is back and will work with Wednesday. He's not the villain of this season

1.  Bergdorf Goodman has no surveillance video of the alleged incident.

2.  There are zero witnesses to the alleged sexual attack.

“How thrilling!” Loki quipped as he walked beside Mobius.

The female Hunter followed along. “This doesn’t make sense,” she said. “The Loki Variant had been killing our people this entire time. They usually spared the people on the timeline. Why did they massacre everyone here?”

“Well, these are the worst of the worst, and I guarantee you the prison guards aren’t any better. Maybe… altruism?” Mobius replied.

The Hunter snorted, “A Loki? Yeah, right.”

“Anyway, we’re not here to figure out why they killed everyone,” Mobius explained, “we’re here to find out what they took, why they took it, and what they plan to do with it.” Turning, he said, “Did you sniff anything out yet, Loki?”

“‘Sniff anything out?’” Loki spat. “What do you take me for? A dog? First I was a little pussy cat, and now I am a little lap dog?”

“Now, don’t get so sensitive–”

The Hunter left them arguing amongst themselves to take readings elsewhere. Her readings began to ping the closer she got to one of the hallways. There was… something… sitting on a table with a piece of newspaper covering it. She gingerly pulled the newspaper away and let it fall to the floor.

“The fuck?” she uttered. It looked like a huge flower bud the size of a basketball. The dark green sepals wrapping around the petals had golden veins running through them, veins that seemed to glow with a pulsing heartbeat. The very tippy top of the bud had some deep red petals peeking through. There was a sickly sweet fragrance emanating from the bud. Leaning closer, the Hunter could see a trickle of golden viscous liquid seeping from the top where the petals were. The bud twitched and the Hunter jumped back.

“Hey… guys?” the Hunter called out. “You should come check this out…”

Loki looked in her direction and his eyes almost popped right out of his skull. He pointed at the bud and screamed, “Stay away from that!”

Loki ran to the Hunter and grabbed her arm to pull her away from the flower, but it was too late. The flower popped and splattered its contents all over Loki and the Hunter. The Hunter grimaced as this golden, sticky, shimmery goop slithered down her face and body.

“What the hell is going on?” Mobius called out as he followed them.

“Let go of me,” the Hunter snarled as she tried to pull her wrist out of his grasp, but he wouldn’t budge. His hold was so tight that he was grinding her bones together.

Mobius, sounding exasperated, sighed, “Where the hell are you going?”

Mobius reached out towards Loki and Loki recoiled, screaming, “Don’t touch us!  We’re contaminated!”

“What?” Mobius snatched his hand back.

“With what?” the Hunter screeched.

“There!” Loki pointed at a sign for the washroom. “The showers! Quickly!” He dragged the Hunter towards his intended destination.

“With what?!” the Hunter repeated as she smacked Loki’s arm with her free hand. The goop caused his clothes to stick to her palm and it released with a wet squish. “Ugh! Loki, contaminated with what?”

“It’s- argh!”  Loki was annoyed with the Hunter’s lack of cooperation. “It’s a very concentrated form of aphrodisiac. It’s usually used in very small amounts – and I mean very small; miniscule, and tremendously diluted – during feasts where – I’m not sorry to say – an orgy is the main event. But the amount that has bespattered us is deadly. So we must dispose of our clothes and wash the nectar off of our bodies. “Holy shit!” Mobius’ voice cracked behind them.

“Holy. Shit.” The Hunter gasped as well.

“Indeed,” Loki scowled. “Now, come on.”

Loki shoved the Hunter through the door of the communal shower. She stumbled but he righted her and then stuffed her under a shower head. He turned the water on as hot as he could and left her there. She yelped and turned the water back to a more comfortable level.

“Hurry,” Loki said as he turned his own shower on and started tearing off his clothes. “Take everything off and throw it there, furthest away from you.” Loki pointed to the corner of the room. “Thoroughly wash yourself. Use soap – use a lot of soap – don’t just stand there, hurry!”

The Hunter tore her eyes away from the undressing god and quickly unclipped her helmet, throwing it in the direction Loki told her. She ripped the hair tie out of her ponytail, letting her dark, straight hair fall just past her shoulders; then she started peeling off her armor and utility clothing. There wasn't any shampoo, but there was a bar of soap sitting on a wall-mounted soap dish and she grabbed it. It squished out of her hand and jumped in the air. She did a small little dance as she tried to catch the soap, but it kept shooting out of her grasp. When she finally caught it, her relief at not dropping the soap was short-lived when she noticed a very large mirror stretching the width of the room on one of the walls.

“Is that a two-way mirror?” the Hunter cried, her lips curling incredulously. “Why is there a two-way mirror to view the showers? That is disgusting!”

Loki scoffed, “I assure you that this isn’t the only place that has such an amenity throughout the galaxies.”

“Agent Mobius, you and the team better not be watching us!” the Hunter yelled.

Mobius’ voice rang through a loudspeaker. “Sorry, kid, I promise we’re not looking. It’s just me and B-15, okay? Hurry up and wash that crap off.”

“Why the hell did the flower explode?” the Hunter hysterically squealed as she frantically rubbed the bar of soap into her hair and face.

“It was overripe,” Loki answered. “It’s normally harvested long before it gets to that size.” Loki tilted his head up to catch some water to rinse his mouth, but he, too, already swallowed some of the nectar earlier so it really didn’t make much of a difference now.

“Ugh, it doesn’t wanna come off!” the Hunter squeaked in a panic.

“Just keep washing! Don’t stop!” Loki told her.

After a few minutes, the sounds of frenzied scrubbing slowed and stilled. The Hunter suddenly felt dizzy and she fell forward, placing her forearm against the shower wall. She wheezed and leaned her forehead against the cool tiles and let the water run down her hair and back. She closed her eyes and swallowed. This growing… yearning… was steadily building in her groin to the point of pain.

The fact that Aegon loving his children it’s even book canon. TGC is describing Aegon’s personality as it is hinted in the book and yet people is mad.

Tom literally acknowledges he is not a good parent but he loves his children.It makes total sense that he would have a complicated relationship with fatherhood based on how his father treated him. Or that in his mind, he wants to be better than Viserys.

Thank you anon! You're exactly right, we've always known from the book that he loved his children. Adding onto that is that we have barely seen 20 minutes of Aegon until now, if the early reviews are true we'll get 15 minutes of Aegon in the first episode ALONE. Of course we find out much more about the character, we barely know anything about him!

This made me wonder; what do we know about Aegon?

We meet Aegon for the first time in episode 3 of season 1. He is just a two year-old who plays with a wooden dragon toy and yet the older characters around him only see him as a threat, a pawn or, by his father, as a replacement— watching the episode it's clear to me that Viserys wanted Baelon, Aegon cannot be Baelon. It's pretty telling that the only positive on-screen interactions Aegon has with his father are in this episode. He is a little kid still, Viserys can project his wishes and fantasies about Baelon onto him, something he isn't able to do once his son is grown up.

I think it's pretty crucial to understand this part of Aegon's and Viserys' relationship— the perfect ideal of Baelon (he killed the only woman he ever loved for the perfect son; you cannot come back from that) stands between them, like a shadow Aegon could never escape and a standard he could never meet.

We don't really see Aegon again until episode 6— he is a teenager now and thus a completely different person. The little baby from episode 3 has been shaped by years of neglect, unfulfilled expectations, and the toxic dynamics within the family. What has he become? He is a 15 year old with problematic relationship to alcohol that is used as the punching bag of the family. He jacks off from windows (welcome back Roman Roy!), leers at maids and bullies his younger brother.

Teen Aegon is perceived as a disappointment by his grandfather, who sees him just as a weakling and a pawn to be controlled (a belief he still holds at the start of season 2 apparently). His mother projects her own ambitions, resentments and fears onto him.

These behaviors are all very troubling and someone should've done something to prevent these habits from festering within him; no one did. I honestly feel like no one really cares about him that much.

And yet, there is also so much postitive to be said about this iteration of him too, glimpses of Aegon's potential for goodness and his capacity for loyalty. You might call it naivety, but Aegon seems to believe in the good in people— he trusted Rhaenyra not to hurt him or his brothers if she was to become queen (something I agree with). He also seems to treat his nephews well enough, he doesn't seem to care about the bastard-allegations -> he also seems to be friends with bastards as an adult! Eddard Waters belongs to his entourage, this informs his character— yes he is an entitled prince, but there's also an element to him that is endearingly down-to-earth.

Another notable example is in episode 7, he decided to protect his mother after Aemond blamed him for spreading rumors about his nephews' legitimacy . He never cared about the rumors, yet he stood his ground and shielded his mother when faced with his father's wrath.

Ty Tennant does such a great job here. The scene highlights his complexity— he is not simply a drunken disappointment, a villain or a victim, but a young man trapped in a situation he doesn't seem to be able to get out of.

When we next see Aegon, he is in his early twenties, and the toll his upbringing took on him is evident. His introduction in episode 8 is a hefty one. He is shown sleeping off a hangover, his drinking habit from his youth has fully established itself in him. His mother yells at him, tries to get him to understand the consequences of his behavior— he has raped a maid, something that, disturbingly, is not new for him. This moment speaks volumes about the man the little boy from episode 3 has become: flawed, morally compromised, and numbed by his vices.

Further even, Aegon engages in activities that reflect a deep-seated cruelty and a disconnection from others— watching toddlers rip each other apart in brutal fights shows his general desensitization and apathy to everything. These behaviors are obviously unacceptable, but this is a fictional character we are talking about and you know what these behaviors tell me about him? These are just manifestation of the dehumanizing effects of his upbringing.

He is desperate to be loved but destined to be hated — Tom Glynn Carney

Because characters can be multi-faceted and complex, Aegon fights off insecurities and still yearns for love and acceptance from those around him. Him acting out like this can be read as misguided attempts to drown out the background noise, to try to assert control in a world where he feels constantly undermined and unloved. However, his actions only serve to alienate him further from the people he wants to be accepted by.

Aegon's aversion to the throne and his rejection of the responsibilities that come with it are just other manifestations of his deep-seated apathy. He despises the very idea of kingship and what it represents. He doesn't want to take up responsibility become a pawn, he yearns to run away but he himself knows that he will never be able to run.

The carriage ride to the sept and the coronation are gifts that keep on giving. It's all so horribly tragic. He never wanted this. Crowning him will kill him, he knows this is his end deep down!

He is so preoccupied with what his father wanted, Baelon is absolutely still haunting the narrative— his father's desire for him to embody virtues he never possessed or could aspire to (BAELON) are still at the forefront of his thoughts.

As he walks to receive the crown, he is literally crying, this single moment encapsulates it all so well. He is man who, despite his privileged position, is trapped by the very power and responsibility he was born into but never desired for.

But then, at the very end of episode 9, we see a shift in Aegon— something else to him that will be at the forefront of his character in season 2. He finally gets the adoration and the purpose he always sought after with the crown. The moment he realizes that the smallfolk is cheering for him is the moment the apathy that defined him up until now begins to lose its grip, replaced by newfound determination.

This change in Aegon will be furthered by the death of Jaehaerys, a source of pride and a reminder for him that he is capable to create and care for something precious and pure (thank you TGC) -> I won't go into this deeper, let's wait until the season airs.

In conclusion, a wise woman once said that apathy is death. For so much of his life Aegon embodied apathy, only for the very thing he feared most (kingship) to make him rethink everything. Aegon will be driven by his determination, but this path will lead to his destruction, consuming him until there is barely anything left of him. It will ultimately tear him apart; he is both redeemed and ruined by the weight of a crown he never wanted.

Look, I loved them in Trollhunters. I found them really cute in season 1 and 2. Season 3 they did basically nothing and I have zero problems with that. You wanna know why? Because they had bigger issues in season 3 to worry about, so Jlaire was not of importance. I’m glad they didn’t make it a focus, because it really wasn’t necessary.

But Wizards. Oh WIZARDS.

Wizards made me want to bash my head in for many reasons. The writing inconsistencies for one. But also the erasure of like a lot of characters. While the movie really threw them into dog water, Wizards was already setting up the character assassination of Steve, Claire, literally anyone else who didn’t go back in time. I mean I get that the series was supposed to be two seasons and then for some reason got cut down to one, but…

… if they had to cut SOMETHING…

WHY DIDNT THEY CUT THE 15 MILLION JLAIRE MOMENTS BRO 😭😭😭

I DONT CARE IF ITS CUTE OR WHATEVER IT WAS NOT NECESSARY. This series is supposed to be setting up the movie and its new conflicts. They should be focusing on developing the Arcane Order, the OTHER CHARACTERS, not the relationship that we already saw develop in the FIRST SHOW.

Claire for example. My pookie wookie bae. She lost her shadow staff but her powers are returning to her and she’s going through the mental conflict of not wanting to end up like Morgana. THAT could have been a great premise to complete Claire’s development and to help her become stronger. PLUS we could have had Morgana (since she became good again) showing Claire some spells.

BUT NO. That entire plot line gets shoved into ONE EPISODE (episode 4) and every other second is just her going “Jim!” SHUT UP!!

It’s not doing anything for her character, it’s not doing anything for his (because he had his own shit going on) SO IT MEANS NOTHING!

And then I saw some people on Reddit like “oh they’re in love though so of course they are gonna be worried about each other”

First of all, weak argument. Secondly, how have they reached THE LOVE STAGE?! Toby had said in the beginning that Claire “barely knew Jim existed” and even if she did have a crush on him that implies they barely interacted with each other. And if we follow my stupid ass timeline for the show then like they only became real friends around the spring fling which is like March or April. Trollhunters ended on the last day of school which would be in like June, and Steve said in the beginning of Wizards that “the rest of the summer will eat farts” so that implies it’s like late July now. So that’s only 5 months or something. 💀💀💀 only 1 month or a month and a half of Claire and Jim in New Jersey that we didn’t see, but Jim got attacked by the green knight at some point so that subtracts time 💀💀💀 my point is it takes normal people like a year to say “I love you.” And don’t even bother saying “well it’s a cartoon”

I like Mystreet as much as the next person, I was a MCD person, and I'll always be a MCD person...with that being said, from time to time, I think about the comparisons for characters between the two properties...you know the usual, like the Mystreet Laurance and MCD Laurance, or sometimes Garroth, or even Katelyn...this rambling session isn't about them though, it's about Dante.

By far, Dante is one of my favorites in MCD. At first glance, he can be forgettable. He's not apart of the Aphmau love triangle, nor is he apart every adventure in season 2, but when you get the whole picture of MCD, he's character is amazing.

I mean, there's so much to him. His personality, his morals, his history...his family. Dante is a character that is easily expandable.

By far, one of the most important things about Dante, is his loyalty. This man, stayed 15 years in the same place because his Lord told him to, no matter how many offers for him to leave came up, he didn't, and that is extremely compelling.

With that said, it's time for Mystreet Dante...anyways! Dante in Mystreet (+ Phoenix Drop High) is quite different. First off, Dante in Mystreet is extremely flirty, to the point he's creepy and disrespectful. In Phoenix Drop High(mostly effecting Mystreet later on), Dante taught Travis creepy behaviors, such as touching others without their permission. Of course, this is all played for humor, Dante in Mystreet is all played for humor...even when his behaviors are far from it.

To add to this behavior, it's very obvious from the first episode of Mystreet, that Dante is supposed to be seen in a more love interest route, a route that Mystreet Aphmau realistically, doesn't chose. I find this odd, comparably, in MCD, Dante views Aphmau as a sister, and I'd like to believe Aphmau views Dante as brother, or at least as someone who is family...this really makes me wonder, why did Jessica, in Season 1 of Mystreet, put Dante in a love interest light? When she makes it very clear In MCD, that Dante doesn't view Aphmau in that way.

Another thing about Dante, that reloves around love, is his relationships, romantic relationships that is. In season 1 of Phoenix Drop, Dante not only dates Kawaii~Chan, but Nicole(An obvious reference to MCD). In MCD, The Kawaii~Chan and Nicole situation is taken as a situation that is sad and complicated. I'm not exactly sure on times, but Dante does Date Nicole for awhile, before she must go back to Scaleswind, and if I remember correctly, Nicole does ask Dante to go with her, but he refuses, because of his commitment to Phoenix Drop. After Nicole gets to Scaleswind, she finds she is with child, but then there's Kawaii~Chan. During the 15 year time skip, Kawaii~Chan travels a bit before settling back in Phoenix Drop. Dante and Kawaii~Chan only date after Dante and Nicole breakup...but eventually, Nicole comes for a visit. When Nicole visits, Kawaii~Chan is three months pregnant, while Nicole is also obviously pregnant. There is a very important thing to this situation, Dante doesn't know he is the father of Nicole's child. So for years after, Dante, lives unaware, until the child (Or Dimitri) sneaks away from Nicole, but after that gets sorted out, Dante steps up, he takes responsibility for Dimitri.

Now, none of that happens in Phoenix Drop High. It's just Dante dating Nicole and Kawaii~Chan at the same time. Of course, Dante deals with consequences of being a jerk to these two girls, because if I remember correctly, they dump him. I just can't help but think about it, since the two situations are very different in the priorities, one, doesn't make anyone a villain, it was a situation of major miscommunication, and as soon as every communicated, the situation turned into taking care of everyone and becoming a family. While in Phoenix Drop High, the situation is there to paint Dante as a major jerk, rightfully so, because he shouldn't be dating two people at the same time, but I just can't help but notice the two situations...and how they paint everyone in it.

There is only a few redeeming qualities of Mystreet Dante. He is funny sometimes, like in Dante and Travis the show. The changes between MCD Dante and Mystreet Dante, just makes me think about why...why did they change him so drastically? Was it just fit a trope, was it something deeper, or was it nothing at all, and I'm just thinking too deep?

jwct season two review!! spoilers below!!

to start off, I really enjoyed this season! it definitely had some weak spots, but overall wasn't a bad season

the animation is definitely the first thing I want to bring up. it was absolutely beautiful. the colors and lighting were stunning, and the way everything moved made it feel a bit more real. I'd like to give a special shout out to any scene involving water because, one, the water was animated extremely well, and two, the way the characters looked after getting wet was a huge upgrade to jwcc

speaking of the characters, I want to talk about them a bit! this is going to be a bit of a mix between good and bad

darius: unfortunately, darius felt kinda flat this season. before the initial release, the show was advertised around him, and he shone his way thru season one. he had conflicts, he had emotions, he an arc. in season two, he felt kind of like a side character. only watching the season once so far, the only memorable moments I remember are him trying to bond with zayna and that extremely awkward flashback of his confession (which is a whole other thing I will get to). other than that, he didn't really have much going on. there was no actual story; no arc. maybe when I do a rewatch, something else will stand out to me

sammy: unfortunately, sammy's story this season also felt kinda weak. for starters, she didn't get to kick a single ass. I feel like her whole arc was just being attached to zayna. she clearly got very emotional about the mballo family, so I guess I was just hoping they would elaborate a bit more on what's going on with her own. I also definitely do think she saw a bit of herself in zayna, so I was hoping that would go somewhere, too. I was really happy about her being a canon vegetarian, though

yaz: yaz, as always, was an icon. she was THE character this season. she was so good at reading people and noticing they weren't okay, and then she tried to help her friends, no matter how much they refused to communicate. a moment of appreciation for her patience when dealing with kenji and ben, because they were not making it easy for her

also her solo episode!!!!! was insane!!!!!! it was literally never ending tension, and good god nothing was going right for her, and yet she kept going. she kept fighting. that episode was also a really good example of how much she's grown. no matter what was thrown at her, she didn't let herself fall into a state of panic and irrational thoughts

ben: I loved his arc. he was put in such an insanely messy and complicated situation, and mixing that with his anxiety and paranoia, of course he'd struggle with it. they did a good job at making the audience understand his thought process. he had to choose between telling the group their dead friend is actually alive because he saw her in the background of one video, or holding back this info until he got more solid proof. then, said dead friend video calls him and begs him not to say anything. that only made it more difficult for him, because he was 100% sure she was alive then, but was asked to not tell. watching him fall deeper and deeper into a state of panic absolutely crushed me

kenji: oh kenji, kenji, kenji. I don't even know where to begin with him, so I guess I'll start with the overall character. to be completely honest, there were moments (especially in the middle of the season) where he just did not feel like kenji. he was abrasive and just seemed off somehow. I'm not gonna go too much into that, though, because most people aren't the same person at 22 that they were when they 15. he has also been through an insane amount of stuff and was at a point where he was overwhelmed with emotions, but was trying to convince both his friends and himself that he wasn't

now his arc is a different story. I like where they took it (in a way that added complexity to an already complex character, not in a yippee!! kenji wants to kill himself!! way). the arc itself was hard, and absolutely depressing, to watch. the way he kept throwing himself in danger's way as if he had a death wish was absolutely heart wrenching. then when he realized what he had been doing and how it affected others, and when he said "I don't know how much more I can take" I wanted to rip him through the screen and give him a big hug

brooklynn: loved loved LOVED her storyline. I was so happy to see her side of the story and how she ended up where she did. the first scene I want to talk about is when she wanted to see her family and friends, she wanted to reach out, but realizing that it could potentially put them in danger, she solidified her decision to stay "dead." I loved that scene so much because it knocks out all of those "heartless brooklynn" theories. she faked her death for them, not to hurt them

I loved that they had moments of focus where she adapted to her new limb difference, and that she was allowed to grieve her missing arm. it felt real and human. also watching her ability to manipulate others and make her way into those different situations was so extremely fascinating. like she is an amazing investigative journalist

also the final scene, where she went with soyona. as agonizing as it was to watch, I'm actually glad she made that decision. it wouldn't have felt realistic for her to choose her friends, not after everything she had gone through to even get there. she was in too deep, and it was very brooklynn of her to continue the investigation instead of going back to her old life. I feel that giving bumpy's egg to the others was her little sign saying "I'm still in here"

there's also some good and some bad when it comes to the way they told the story

for the good, I really liked the way they switched back and forth between brooklynn and the others. it was a good way to keep up with the timeline while also filling in gaps (ex: the crate moving into the pen just long enough to get them out only to find out brooklynn was on the controls)

on the other hand, the story in the middle of the season (more specifically eps 4, 5, 6), felt like it was moving a bit slow at times. certain things seemed dragged out and there was a lot of filler time. the first episode and the last four did a really good job at avoiding that. the stakes were high and the scenes were so full of tension and ominousity that I was drawn in just about the entire time

now for random little things

I loved the inclusion of the mballo family. it was so refreshing to get new characters that didn't have bad intentions, and I feel like they were exactly what the five needed in that moment

going off of that, I absolutely adored zayna!! she was such a good inclusion. she was determined and strong-willed while also still being a kid. her sarcastic personality (towards darius specifically) was a good way to bring in some light humor too

also the eyeless leucistic baryonyx. I felt so bad for the poor thing knowing that she was intentionally created to be that way. her interactions with the characters were absolutely terrifying, though, and when she communicated with the acrociraptor???? I didn't think it could get more intense

I was actually losing my mind when the baryonyx and red were hunting the nublar five with all the lights turned off. that was another extremely well done scene

the darius confession flashback was..... something. definitely NOT how I was expecting them to go about that scene. season one made it seem like she had been staying with him for a while and he slowly developed feelings that way and eventually she caught on. but that flashback threw all of that away. like she clearly hadn't been there very long and darius had already fallen HARD, and it just seemed out of character for him to insist kenji didn't love her that much. the whole thing was just ugh

the video call flashback was great tho!! it was nice to see they still continued those calls

ben and kenji!!!!!! no but I was actually obsessed with what they did with their relationship this season. the bickering, the divorced couple vibes, and of course the heart to heart. I've been waiting years for that to happen and it did. just for their relationship to go to shambles the next episode 😭

but on that note I will say the reveal to kenji was set up so extremely well. being able to see and hear ben and brooklynn but they don't know he's there, and then everything he does witness is out of context, so he builds up his own conclusion. him confronting ben was so intense like godddd. I couldn't stand the pain in both of their faces. when kenji cracked the glass??? imagine if he had actually aimed for bens face

on the other hand, the reveal to the rest was kinda meh. I just felt like they could've done more with it, but hey, I guess it's realistic. not everything is going to happen under dramatic circumstances

speaking of clothes, why did they change for that one episode then immediately change back??? felt like a waste of those models (/lh)

doctor who spoilers for the finale because holy shit i need to SCREAM

both good and bad screaming

Firstly, welcome Billie! That ending had me super pumped! I'm very excited to see how she does as the Doctor.

Secondly, this episode was a MESS. The ending was definitely the best part of it, even if I feel like Ncuti got absolutely SHAFTED as the Doctor. This man deserved at LEAST another special before regenerating. He was so good as the Doctor, and I feel like he needed more time. This episode in particular being his FINAL outing felt almost insulting.

Okay, let's talk the episode as a whole. Things I liked, and things I didn't. Let's start with things I liked:

Ruby in this episode was amazing. I loved her confrontation with Conrad, and the result of it.

It was nice to see Susan Twist again! I know she was in the last episode, but she got a bit more to do this episode, and I liked that.

The Rani's motivations of wanting to rebuild Time Lord society feels pretty genuine and authentic to her whole deal as a mad scientist. I liked that. Archie Panjabi's performance was amazing as well.

The ending. Everything about it. While, when it first started happening and I could tell where it was going, I was upset. Like I said, I did not want Ncuti to regenerate yet. But the way it was handled felt great. It was visually stunning, all the way through, Ncuti's performance was phenomenal. Yeah, everything about the episode from the time 15, Belinda, and Ruby were in the TARDIS to the end, was great.

And for the bad:

Archie's Rani getting anti-climactically swallowed by Omega was a waste of her. We'd better fucking see her again, Russel, or I'm going to riot. Anita Dobson, too. It is interesting that she's the only Rani now, and she's just Out There. I would love to get a full story featuring Anita Dobson's Rani as the villain, where in the end, she regenerates into Archie Panjabi for real this time.

Belinda did NOTHING. That's honestly been a complaint of mine as this season has gone on. She had such a strong introduction, and I really enjoyed her in the first few episodes, but it feels like she just had less and less to do, and in this episode, she's literally reduced to standing around in a box doing nothing. I DO like that it was her choice, gave her a LITTLE bit of agency, at least. But she really did nothing. I really like Belinda as a character, and as a companion, so it was kind of a bummer to see her just...do nothing.

The entire first half was rushed. Like. Omega is defeated by the 30 minute mark just about...In a pretty stupid way too. His design was...weird, and the CGI was NOT great. Everything with Omega himself was...yeah, not great. Not great at all.

Overall, it feels like the ending of this story was written before the rest of it, and it SHOWS. Russel probably was like, let's get Susan and the Rani back to show that the Doctor isn't the last of the Time Lords. Then we'll have the Rani's evil plan create a daughter for the Doctor who will disappear if he saves the day, and then the Doctor will have to regenerate himself in order to bring her back. Yeah, I like that!

And then he wrote all of that and then was like wait shit Rani needs an actual plan...uhh, she's trying to bring back the Time Lords by bringing back...Omega?? Sure. Oh shit I need to actually have them save the day, uhhhh....The Doctor shoots the CGI Omega in the fact with the vindicator and pushes him back into Hell. Good enough.

I dunno. The ending left me hyped, but I'm sad to see Ncuti go, and the rest of the episode left me wanting a bit more...

For The Pitt - I've been seeing either discussion of or questioning of "what year is Season 1?" in my feed again (and on reddit) and a few other boards. And while I think a writer could and should pick either 2024 or 2025 and it would work either way - I've (personally) written all my stories to be taking place as if Season 1 did take place, or if I'm writing pre-canon will take place, on September 19th 2025.

Allow me to explain how and why I came to that conclusion about the year (and why I picked that date specifically) -

In episode 1 when she's talking to Collins in the first 3 minutes of the show Dana said: "Today's the day Doc Adamson died. He hasn't worked it in four years."

Everything we see in flashbacks seems to be giving the indication that Robby was working the day that Adamson died. So, conceviably that doesn't count towards the "not working it [the date] in four years".

And while Adamson could have died in 2021 - Covid was still bad especially in major city centers - the vaccine was available in December of 2020 and we weren't in so much of a vent/supply shortage that they would take the guy who was probably supposed to be the Cheif of Emergency Medicine off life saving measures then.

Heard an interview Noah Wyle gave where he said "the day [on the show] is the 5th anniversary of Adamson's death". This gets kind of into the wiggly room of "actors giving backstory not necessarily being canon" but Noah is an EP and a writer so it lands with a bit more seriousness.

Collins / Langdon (as the most senior residents) - unless my own personal prescription drug use has finally turned my brain swiss cheese after 15 years - I genuinely don't remember any mention of them being around that specific hospital during Covid.

You'll laugh at this one but Langdon's kids are evidence as well. He has "two kids under four" and we know one of them (Tanner) is four. If he's 4 in September 2025 then, depending on the exact month, he was born in 2021...and Abby probably got pregnant in 2020. I've got a LOT of friends who had "oopsie Covid babies".

So Math it - I (personally) believe it is September of 2025 because if Adamson died in September of 2020 and it is the 5th anniversary and Robby hasn't worked "that day" in 4 years then he didn't work: 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Making 2025 the 5th year since Adamson died.

The reason I specifically pick to write as if Pittfest (ie: Season 1) was September 19th 2025 is much easier:

It's definitely September: There are too many in school references - college kids with tests (the od's), David needing to go to school after dropping his Mom off. And when Langdon (finally) loses his shit with Santos he states that she's had her license for about 90 days (graduate in June - start practicing in July, Aug, Sept).

It's definitely a Friday: I worked in live music production for almost 15 years - if it isn't summertime there is no way in hell a promoter is going to waste money and put on a music festival in the middle of the week. They might do a 3-day using a Friday in the fall though. Robby all but confirms it when he says "See you Monday" to Dana when they are leaving.

I picked the 19th of September (and not the 5th, 12th, or 26th) simply because technically the 19th, 20th & 21st of September is the last weekend of Summer. With September 21st being the Fall Solstice. Again, worked in concert promotion/production: we'd totally capitalize on a "last summer blast" marketing scheme for a weekend festival.

oh my god LETS TALK ABOUT HOUSE PLEASE. i’ve just started watching it for the first time- and im halfway through season one. i’ve already spoiled myself for Wilson’s death, House x Cuddy, House x Cameron, and whatever that aussie has going on with that nine year old or something. i’ve also heard rumors of a character named thirteen?! i don’t want any more spoilers, i just want to know your opinions on who House is with throughout the show. though i haven’t seen any ‘love’ yet, i REALLY like House and Cameron- that Monster Truck episode really locked it in for me.

Hello and welcome!!! Ah season one, what a beautiful and lovely time that was. I am excited to hear your thoughts as you continue watching! Feel free to drop your thoughts and feelings into my ask box as you continue making your way through the show!

Okay so let's talk House's love interests throughout the show. I will do my best to avoid any major spoilers, but it's going to be a little hard to discuss without some spoilers. The main players in House's romantic life are:

Stacy

Cuddy

Cameron

Dominika

And Wilson if you choose to live in the land of delusion (it's a beautiful place, really. 10/10 would suggest living here. I often forget it's not canon.)

So let's start in chronological order since you haven't seen the whole show through yet. Personally, I am not a huge fan of House/Cameron. I think there is definitely something deep and real between them and I think there will always be love between them, but I'm just not a huge fan of the idea of them actually having a real relationship together. I think I've talked about this in a different post too, but I think Cameron was in love with the idea of who she wanted House to be rather than who he actually was. Romantically, they never ever would've worked. With that said, I LOVE their relationship outside of a romantic sense. I think they have a weakness with each other that is very interesting, especially House's weakness towards her. He gets very pathetic about Cameron several different times throughout the show and each time is really interesting and fun and pathetic in their own ways. I won't go too much into what happens in season 6 since you don't want spoilers, but once you get to that point, I'd love to get more into the way she feels about House and Chase at that time. Overall, I dislike their relationship in seasons 1-3, but I LOVE their relationship in seasons 4-6.

Now onto Stacy. Since you're in mid season 1, you haven't met her yet, she joins the show at the end of season 1 and is only there for a little while. Stacy is his ex-girlfriend that left him after his leg injury happened and she is a HUGE HUGE HUGE piece of who House is as a person. My heart breaks every time I think about House/Stacy (I've made several posts about their relationship and this very topic) because they really truly loved each other so much. House loved her more than probably anyone else other than Wilson. I mean he really, truly loved that woman and it affects him down to his core. In my dreams, they were able to make things work and lived happily ever after. A lot of people dislike Stacy and I will let you come to your own opinions about her, but I will say that she's one of my favorites and I wish she had been on the show longer even if her and House weren't together. I think had she been around for the events of the season 2 finale, season 3 would've gone wayyy differently.

So you've already spoiled yourself for his relationship with Cuddy, which means I don't have to hold anything back (I hope). His relationship with Cuddy is another one that breaks my heart and makes me SO damn frustrated. Their slow burn throughout the first 6 seasons is brilliantly written and so so sexy. The fact that their relationship only lasted 15 episodes before it crashed and burn is imo, the writers' biggest mistake. I feel like there are a million things they could've given us before it all fell apart and it would've made the season 7 finale just a little bit more understandable. I personally hate the way season 7 ended, but I understand they had to do something crazy to write Lisa Edelstein off the show. I feel like there were other ways they could've done it that didn't feel like jumping the shark. House was again, really truly completely in love with Cuddy and even though he was hurt, heartbroken, and on a bender, I don't think his character leading up to the end of season 7 would've done anything to put Cuddy and Rachel in that kind of danger. They justify it in season 8 by House saying he knew he wasn't going to hurt anyone, but still. Obviously he was going to do something stupid, but something that could've hurt Cuddy and baby Rachel just never sat right with me (plus he hurt Wilson at the same time and that is REALLY just crazy out of character to me. He may wack Wilson with his cane or laugh when he trips and falls, but he never would've nearly ran him over just to hurt someone else. That is not the Greg House they set up in the 7 seasons leading up to that.) In a perfect world, House would've went to Wilson for help instead of relapsing and Wilson would've dragged House to Cuddy's bedside and they would've dealt with it scared and sober and come out of it stronger than ever after.

Now onto Dominika! You will meet her in season 7 after House and Cuddy break up. I can't get too much into their relationship without spoiling most of it for you, but I will say that I have mixed feelings about their relationship. I think it was cute and if House hadn't been so broken, there's a chance they could've had something real together. I think Dominika was super cute and fun and it was nice to see House be with someone who accepted House for all the bad parts about him. She liked him and he began to really like her and that scared him. Ultimately, their relationship was just a reaction to his breakup with Cuddy and he was far too in love with Cuddy to have ever made it work. But there is a scene where Dominika has a monologue about what a good and caring person House really is on the inside and it's such a sweet moment. If only others saw House the way she did... Their relationship was cute, but falls at the bottom of my list because it was just too soon after Cuddy imo. Again, maybe if there had been more time to build on it, I would've liked it more. But between everything we saw before their relationship and everything that was going on in season 8, their relationship kind of got lost in it all to me.

And now of course, ✨ Wilson ✨

Wilson is House's soulmate, his end game, his past, present, and future. In my heart of hearts, they are still alive and well, living in a bungalow near the beach and being mean old gays until the end of their days. There is no relationship in the show that compares to them and ultimately, everything comes back to Wilson in the end. I cannot get into it without spoiling it all for you, but every season, no, every episode shows us that House loves Wilson more than anyone else. Wilson defies all else in his life and is the thing that keeps him going when nothing else does. The show starts with them and ends with them and the entire show, ultimately, was about them.
