y/n turned the tv off as Mason was subbed off with yet another injury. She dropped on the couch with a sigh, the image of her boyfriend’s devastated face plastered in the back of her mind.

She remembered how excited he was in the morning for this match, having his first start after a while. But now 15 minutes through the match, he was down on the pitch.

Two hours later, Mason finally arrived, dropping his bag on the floor and closing the door gently behind him.

She quickly stood up when he entered the living room, his smile weak and his body tense.

“Masey…” she started, but he quickly shook his head, his gaze shifting to the floor.

“Please, just…hold me?” his voice was vulnerable and raw, and she could swear she saw his eyes tearing up.

She nodded, putting her hand out for him to hold. She pulled him down with her on the couch, his head immediately resting on her shoulder and arms around her waist, while she brushed her fingers through the short strands of his hair.

She waited for him to say anything, hoping he would open up and speak about the feelings he has been bottling up in him. But a few minutes later, she felt his weight heavier on her, his breathing more calm and steady.

She looked down at him, how his eyelashes brushed against his cheeks, his lips in a small pout. As she stared at him more, she noticed something. A single tear at the bottom of his cheek. She felt her eyes tearing up as she wiped the tear of his cheek, pressing a faint cheek in the same spot.

“It’ll get better, Masey” she mumbled against his hair, kissing the crown of his head. “I promise”

A few days have passed since Mason’s injury, and he has already started working on his recovery. But he hasn’t been the same since then. He hasn’t been physically distant, quite the opposite actually.

He was always lingering by her side, never pulling away from hugs until she did it first. It just seems like he was keeping too much inside, that he wasn’t speaking much.

y/n didn’t want to pressure him into talking about what’s bothering him, but the phone call from his mom changed that.

“Mason hasn’t called in a while, is everything okay?” Debbie asked, her vice laced with worry.

y/n was surprised. This wasn’t the first time Mason became more reserved after an injury, but it was the first time he was distant to his family, the people he loved the most.

She didn’t want to worry his mom about him and saying she didn’t know the reason behind him closing off so she said, “it’s just with his injury and the recovery he’s been a bit busy, you know?”

“oh…I get it, I was just worried. Take care of him honey” Debbie said, making her smile

“Always. Have a great day” she said before hanging up.

Just as she placed the phone down on the coffee table, the front door opened and Mason appeared.

“Hey handsome” she stepped closer as he took off his shoes. He looked up at her, his smile small but genuine.

“Hey darling” he murmured, leaning closer and pulling her into a hug. She hugged him back tighter, not daring to pull back first.

They stood for a while by the door, in the comfort of each other's arms. When they pulled away, she couldn’t help but let the question slip off her lips.

“Is everything okay?” she asked carefully. Mason’s face twisted in confusion.

“Yeah…why?” he asked slowly. She let out a sigh, reaching over to play with the string of his hoodie.

“Your mom called,” she said, not looking up at him. She felt him take a deep breath before replying, “What did she say?”

“She said that you haven’t talked to her in a while. Why?” she looked up at him, watching how the guiltiness and sadness found their way back to his face. 

She felt her heart crack at his pained expression, her fingers grazing his forehead to smooth away the crease of his frown.

“I just…forgot” he said hesitantly, making her look at him with a knowing look that made him sigh.

“Talk to me, Masey. It’s not just your mom you’re not talking to, your friends, your teammates, even me. You haven’t talked to me properly since your injury. Let me help you baby, you can’t be carrying this weight on your own,” she said gently, trying not to push him too much, but she needed to know what’s wrong.

Mason smiled sadly, before pulling her by her hand to their living room. As they settled on the couch, she waited patiently for him to speak, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze that made him smile for a second.

“It’s just everything you know?” he said in a low voice, his eyes glued at their intertwined hands.

“The fans, the team, the coach, and then the injuries just make it worse. Everyone hates me cause I can’t seem to play two consecutive matches without getting injured. And for some reason my body can’t just fully recover so I can go back to my usual self. I just miss how it was before I was betrayed by my own body. I really just wanted to prove myself that I’m worth this number 7 in United but for some reason everything is going against me” he let out a long sigh as he blurted out all his insecurities and fears.

y/n couldn’t help the tears in her eyes as she listened to his shaky voice talking bad about himself.

“Masey…” she started, making him look at her, his heart dropping at the sight of her tears. “Your body hasn't betrayed you baby. You just haven’t adapted well with this move but that doesn’t mean you’re not worth playing at United. Everyone is excited for you to be back on the field and to show them the real Mason Mount that was once Chelsea’s golden boy. Your time will come sweetheart, you just have to be patient with yourself and work harder to be back stronger than ever. I’m so proud of you and of everything you’ve done. Never forget that” she said, never breaking eye contact with him.

Mason smiled softly, his hand squeezing hers as a way of thanking her.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you” he murmured, his other hand brushing against her cheek gently.

“You’ll never have to know. You’re stuck with me forever Mount” she joked, making him chuckle.

“I love you so much darling. I know I haven’t told you that a lot recently but I really do,” he said with guilt.

“I love you more honey. I know you’re going through a rough time but I’m always gonna be here to help you” she assured him, leaning her face against his hand.

Mason gave her another smile, before lowering his head and capturing her lips in a kiss. A way for him to tell her how grateful he is to have her by his side as his girl and number one supporter.

Thank you for the ask! There are two terrible takes that to this day make me believe that some antis watched spop skipping every scene that had Hordak in it

Well, the first one is more of a crazy conspiracy theory, but I still wanna mention it - "Entrapdak is a pedo ship cause Entrapta was meant to be a teenager" and "her age was actually retconned so the writers could ship Entrapta with Hordak". I do wish that Entrapta's age was confirmed in the show itself, cause this aspect of her character did genuiely confused a lot of fans, but thinking that she was actually written as a minor but then was aged up just cause the writers wanted to make entrapdak less problematic?? Insane

The other take is "entrapdak bad because Hordak was manipulating Entrapta to work for him and was abusive towards her". And it used to be such a prevalent opinion in the main fandom too! I honestly think those people just hated Hordak sooo much (mainly for being a threat to Catra) that they were making shit up to make him even more evil and irredeemable so everyone would stop liking him or wishing him a happy ending. Many also loved Entrapta, but hated Hordak so much that they imagined he'd be a terrible partner to her and were insisting that she "deserved better" and was actually unhappy with him (some fake ass Entrapta fans imo) Like, lets dissect this take again. At first, as fellow Hordak fans always say, Hordak couldn't even manipulate himself out of a plastic bag. Plus there wasnt a single scene where Hordak manipulates Entrapta to do smth for him. It was Catra who made Entrapta side with the Horde and convinced her to work for them. Hordak didnt mind, but he also had no say in this. And when they became lab partners it was Entrapta who forced herself into Hordak's lab and in his life, she was the one always insisting on getting information and knowledge out of him, who insisted on working with him, bro just could not make her leave!

Many used to say Hordak was only using Entrapta for her skills (and also didnt care about her as a person, like hello?? have they seen s4 and 5?) when Hordak never made her do anything she wasnt intersted in - he didnt made Entrapta help him build the portal, she was already curious about portals! he didnt make her take care of him or build him a new set of armor, it was her gift! and he was never forcing Entrapta to stay by his side or be loyal to him or the Horde - she simply enjoyed working on this project and spending time with him. And when Hordak was told that she betrayed him he just... accepted it and never thought about revenge or punishment or anything like that. And he wasnt angry cause he lost a tool that could upgrade his tech or fix his problems, he was devastated because he lost his only friend. But you know who only saw Entrapta as a tool-

Then the abuse part - by that antis usually meant those two moments when he yelled at her/ cut her off while being in pain (and also brushed off Entrapta's hair). Like, yeah, Hordak has anger issues and he does scream a lot, and my boy should work on that, but such behaviour never made Entrapta feel distressed or afraid of him. She was either unbothered by Hordak's attempts at being scary and intimidating, or she was sad FOR him (and slightly dissapointed) - she never took his outbirsts as Hordak being genuinely mad at her, she knew smth was wrong with him, but it had nothing to do with her. He yells when he tries to imitate Prime and make ppl leave him alone, or when he's in so much pain he can't handle it and once again wants to be left alone (all because he himself doesnt feel safe around ppl T-T). Should he still apologize for snapping at Entrapta? Yeah. But is such behaviour abusive? I can be, but in case of Hordak? I dont think so

although she already feels more like herself in his presence than she has in a long time, the feeling of his hand grabbing hers and rubbing ever so gently over her skin is what brings her to life again. it's both a stomach punch and the greatest comfort, and her eyes can't help but glance down at the way they connect together physically, perfect in every single way. a knowing sigh leaves her lips, looking back up to the male that makes her heart thud wildly in her chest. "you always did see through my bullshit, huh?" a soft chuckle escapes her mouth, her attempt to lighten the mood but what they are dealing with is heavy, thick with emotion and she doesn't wanna run from that anymore. "things with him aren't very good." she knows she doesn't have to say it for him to know, and her cheeks burn a soft pink in embarrassment. she's a stronger girl than this, stronger then to settle for mediocrity and she feels beyond silly for entertaining any of grant's antics. if she had to guess though, it was because her heart never belonged to him, it had always belonged to milo.

his next words have her holding onto his hand a little tighter, the petite blonde felt weak in the knees from the rush of absolute relief. "i missed you too." she's quick to tell him in return, eyes full of longing, hoping that she can convey to him now just how much she needs him. daphne feels like he's everywhere she goes, even starting to send stupid texts on lonely nights or when she seems something that reminds her of him - not caring that he won't see it, it still makes her feel closer to him. she's hopeful, but still feels as if she's holding her breath, afraid that he's realized how much better off he is without her. it hits her right here.. maybe now more than ever that it was beyond foolish to ever believe for a moment that she could exist in a world where he wasn't in her life. that she could let him go on without knowing that every feeling he felt for her she had felt right back.

"fuck, milo.. i've missed you so much. every day." her head shakes in disbelief, taking a careful step closer to him now, yearning eyes watching him. "and you have to know that i'm so sorry." she finds the confidence to speak from the heart despite how it aches, because it's what he's always deserved from her. "you want me to be happy? well i'm not without you." a sad smile pulls at her lips, throat catching with emotion. "turns out i'm actually pretty miserable without you."

Her words about Grant felt shallow, a veil over something deeper, and he knew she was barely scratching the surface. It was clear in the way her voice faltered, in the way her eyes couldn’t quite meet his for too long. His jaw clenched, the name Grant alone a bitter taste in his mouth, for it embodied the mediocrity that had claimed her heart. This wasn’t about him. This was about Daphne—his Daphne—who had, with a quiet resignation, settled for far less than the boundless love she deserved. He longed to reach across the chasm of space between them, to pull her close as he once had, but the distance—the distance of time, of pain—made each gesture, each word, feel laden with an unspoken weight. "You don’t have to sell it to me, Daph. There was so much he wanted to say, but in that moment, the most important thing was that she knew. "I just want you to be happy," he added, his voice soft, a quiet plea. "I mean it, Daph. You deserve more than what you’re giving yourself right now." He met her gaze, searching her eyes, trying to see if any of his words had landed, if there was any spark of hope left between them.

All he wanted in that moment was to kiss her—feel the warmth of her lips against his, to hold her in his arms like he once had, to parade her proudly around this bar as though she were the only thing that mattered in the world. or, captain laserhawk REALLY shot jade in the face and im still upset about it because oh my GOD they really made her be thrown into a role that is not HER and in death she's still a Figure. yknow, i personally don't have a problem with sarah x jade, but over the past few months occasionally i'd think about it. yeah, it's funny to call sarah gay as hell for putting jade in a femme fatale outfit, but. should that truly be our basis for the ship? or should we think a bit deeper on why exactly sarah would put the sole woman in her lil tool set into such a position? i wonder why it wouldn't hurt to think about why jade would be forced into a role where one has to be sexual.

sarah is an extent of eden and eden is society and society will occasionally harp an odd sort of something masquerading as feminism to you that being sexual gives you power! but really it only serves to loop back into being for the man's enjoyment.

now i have to say that being sexual can be empowering! it really is! we just also have to acknowledge that in the eyes of society, sex is an exchange where it serves the man more than it does the woman. it still feels good to be sexual though, and being sexual can be used right for what you want.

but when it comes to jade, jade is forced to fall into this femme fatale role, this role that demands one to be a maneater, when she usually sticks to a more impersonal way of work. in this role, she dresses in clothes that she's not comfortable with wearing, when told to change from her usual outfit she is visibly uncomfortable, and overall it doesn't fit her.

she is not a sexual person. she does not typically utilise sexuality as a tool in her arsenal, she doesn't even seem to really touch it (or she's just insanely bad at flirting). either way, she's not used to being in this position because she does not choose to be in this position often.

anyways, why does sarah think to put the woman in a position where she would have to step out of her comfort zone? because obviously, she uses things and positions as tools, and sexuality is a tool.

now i want yall to bear with me as i compare sarah to another woman in media; makima. no im not calling sarah some god awful dommy mommy or some shit, i'm bringing in makima to highlight how sexuality is used. she uses her sexuality as a woman to entice this young boy into doing things for her, ranging from a kiss to assaulting him and telling him that she'll give him more as a reward. while not inherently sexual, she offers up a date with her to encourage the devil hybrids under her control. she even offers up a kiss at one point to encourage competition. makima, someone raised by the government and given tools that she uses to manipulate others, has sexuality in her arsenal. it is not a stretch to say that sarah, someone who has intimate understanding of the government, the ladder she climbs, has seen others use sexuality as a tool. hell, it might even be encouraged to use it as a tool. i'm absolutely not saying that sarah fucked her way to the top, im saying that sarah is aware that sexuality is a tool that one can use.

now we all know how sarah got to the top, which can be reasonably assumed to be through military rank and impersonal ways. ways that don't require one to lower your guard and take you in before they strike, like a femme fatale way would. sarah most likely got through to the top by using people and throwing just enough weight around. so why does she not allow jade to flourish in a way that honestly would benefit the team way better yeah no its because she sees her as a fucking tool in order to recognise jade's real talents she must first let go of the notion that she is a simple tool and accept that as a human she has legitimate strengths in unique areas and not just one where you can remind them who is in charge and how you are a tool and FUCK EDEN AND THEIR FUCKING TOOL MINDSET FUCKING CAPITALIST MINDSET IN A SO CALLED POST CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY!!!!! okay im getting a lil heated but yknow what let's continue FUCK PEY'J LOOK AT THIS SHIT

yknow what also happens with dolph and jade? they treat each other as human. jade includes dolph in her lil vlogs as she does with the rest of the team, because she is a good person. dolph recognises that she is indeed a person, someone worth remembering as themselves. not as who she was to someone, but as someone who went out of her way to offer kindness. she gets a goddamn speaking role in his vr dream alongside alex, who yes groomed him, but he also made dolph feel human.

i didnt even realise it before that they put the only two people (that are. dead. bullfrog is not here for obvious reasons) that have made dolph feel human and not an extension of eden in one frame BUT THYE FUCKING DID. these mfs and dolph are basically real recognises real

this isn't about dolph though, this is about jade. jade, who didn't get to be shown to the world as a person, who posthumously became a figure for a man's revenge, who was put into a position she is not suited for because she was not recognised as human. jade, who is the most human out of the ghosts, who gave voice to those that couldn't through her work, who went into exposing pagan min because of her uncle, her family that she loved. for being the most grounded member, they had to kill you because you mattered so much. kept the team together through kindness. god they did you so wrong jade.

the last unicorn post from earlier has me thinking about the master. that yana is still in there, you know? is still someone he was, if even for a brief flash across the life of a time lord. there’s no way to unlive that life. there are ways to twist it later, sure, to make utopia into hell on earth. but the life was lived. in much the same way that the doctor can remember, can feel, the love he held onto as john smith even as that life is ripped out of his hands. the doctor choose denial and then grief and then to shutter it all away. and so john smith died, and so professor yana died, and the doctor and the master live on. the doctor has done this before, and he lives in orbit around humanity, trying to keep the best parts of them and hold them deep enough to take root (which he can pretend he gets to choose, as a time lord. as a human, it all floods in and can’t be dug back out.) but what about the master, right?

to borrow a turn of phrase: i think there are two time lords left in the universe, and they both learned how to regret.

i actually think jinx's ending makes sense... i dont think it was a surprise or unwarranted, esp when the writers set up every warning leading up to it since 2x03

i get that fans are sad to see her go, but story-wise, thematically, character arc-wise, and relationally, it was an ending that just fit. It hurt, but it fit. it punched home her journey/growth, and allowed the sister relationship to grow another layer, that certain bittersweet resolution. And im not saying jinx had to pass in order for us to feel her impact, but I'm saying her decision of sacrifice makes sense for her journey and shows how far she's come.

if we got every fairytale ending we imagine, it would be ooc, and we as viewers wouldn't feel the sacrifice or lessons to the same degree.

I feel like a lot of people saying Mariam was right in sending the text that lead to Layan's murder ignore two important things.

1) She was planning on giving up on revenge before. She just wanted to switch schools and have a fresh start (though I question how this could turn out if word had spread between schools).

2) She was moving her finger to send the text and then she moved it back. She was hesitating, grappling with the gravity of what she was about to do, and I don't doubt that there was a part of her that didn't want to do it.

Who's to say that after what they learned, Layan's parents wouldn't have isolated her like Ruqayya's parents? Or beaten her like Rania's father? Honestly, Mariam's revenge could've stopped as soon as she exposed Layan bunking off school. And in the end, does Mariam really get any catharsis? Sure, she smirks when she sees her plan come to fruition, but she never gets to wind down or breathe - she's still in fight mode, not at peace.
