'cottagecore is kind of a vibe'
— of love and self-care @hdchaeri
sebastian liked to think that god certainly blessed him for being able to have a friend like chaeri in his life. that is if there ever really was a god in the first place- but really, there had to have been some sort of divine intervention for such a good thing to had happened and been bestowed upon him. maybe he just had a good stroke of luck, and was able to meet lovely people. he had the tendency to overthink and be a tad bit overdramatic- but he was glad that she had entered his life, and he was able to form a friendship with her. he liked to think that they were two peas in a pod, eccentric, but also filled with passion for the things that made them happy, they had a lot in common which maybe seemed odd to those who didn’t know them well enough.
this r&r was very much needed though. they had a knack and passion for similar things such as fashion and make up, and it was rare to meet someone who was cut from the same cloth. twin flames if you will. chaeri was onto big and wild things and before she got busy, they had decided to hang out, one last girls' night if you will, and sebastian was excited.
"what if we went full mermaid slash fairy core." he asked softly under the dim lights of the fairy lights he had purchased and wrestled onto his walls, it illuminated the room they share, making the both of them metamorphosis and bloom into different colors, flowers of sorts. the blond haired male turned to chaeri, his smile warm as he reached out for his little bag filled with nail polish and make up, the most sparkly kinds for the both of them. he even made sure to bring his special sailor moon collab as well just to give off strong independent women vibes.
this was very much needed. he wouldn't say he was stressed to the point of breaking, but he couldn't remember the last time he sat down and got to do his skin care as part of self-care and not something that was part of training and looking good for others, but this was for them, and for them to relax and have fun, "we can do each other's make up if you like? i know you said you wanted to dress me up one time." he offered softly with a raised eyebrow, lips quirking upwards to lightly tug on a strand of her hair, teasing gently, "i'll return the favor. i think you'd look really good with this one skirt i have, it's pink with frills and butterflies at the hem. it flairs up when you twirl and kind of dances in the air like you're some kind of wood fae."

(I'm sorry to say I don't know who the artist for the genderbend is, because I was looking for the actual screenshot and I came upon that. I just saved it for personal reference because it's lovely, not to repost it anywhere, but if anybody knows who did this please let me know so I can credit them. I didn't remove any watermarks either, it didn't have one.)
And now for @pixie-skull 's actual edit... You guys, you have no idea how much effort he put into this. We had discussed it as a possibility a few months back, but we knew he had to be in the right mindset because of just how much work it was.
So a couple days ago he told me he was up for the challenge, and boy was it amazing to slowly see it come to life over the course of several hours. This has so many difficult and fiddly bits and pieces and it came out absolutely incredible.
Skully found all the right body poses and facial expressions, and not only headswapped two of the girls but actually put Odette's face on a completely different shot of her head, too, so it would be facing the right way. I can only imagine the tweaking that alone took. He not only recolored Jane's top for Chel-as-Duke, he refitted it to her body shape as well, and did so at least four times until we were satisfied with how her silhouette looked. He also altered her hairstyle seamlessly and added a bow that, as you can see, was situated totally differently in the original image, and seamlessly erased her original bracelets and earrings, reconstructed her wrists and ears, and then added those new earrings from Anastasia that must've been a nightmare to crop.
Ariel-as-McNamara has had her entire outfit recolored, including adding lineart to the heart on her t-shirt. That's a skirt from the Sailor Moon 90s anime, and it took quite a bit of fiddling with it and with the body itself to make it the right size. The head is swapped, the hair and skin recolored, the bow added because she isn't wearing one in that scene, parts of her neck, hair and the top of her head had to be redrawn in because they were cut weirdly. Even her lipstick is recolored just because I didn't feel like Ariel's original dark red suited this. And when I wanted to add a reference to her father's diamond business and we couldn't find any, Skully out and out made her bracelet and hoop earring from scratch using only the sparkly texture from the beauty pageant in Swan Princess.
And then our supreme Queen Bee. I seriously thought I was going to drive Skully mad with Odette-as-Chandler but he was so incredibly patient with me. And so hard-working. Even just finding the starting pose of Holli's body and clothes took a few tries, and Odette's facial expression needed even more. Then when we found the right one it was at such a weird angle vs her body that I genuinely thought we wouldn't be able to use it. I cannot imagine how much tweaking it required for him to make it look like it has always been like that on her face: check the difference between the screenshots. Then of course he set it on Holli's body, adjusted the skintone, redrew most of her hair, colorswapped the lipstick, added the locket. And basically reconstructed Holli's entire right arm while he was at it since it's cropped weird in the original screenshot. It was my idea to make Holli's dress look like a two-piece, which came out super well but looked plain in comparison to the other two. So Skully hand-drew the plaid pattern on the skirt after not finding one to grab. The bracelets, which iirc are also hand-drawn, were a brilliant last minute touch he came up with. I had wanted the pearl earrings and the gold locket, so he made a matching bracelet for each. Both for this outfit and Duke's, the belt is drawn by hand, but he grabbed that ridiculously tiny buckle and placed it on them so they would look more realistically done. I wouldn't even be able to crop the buckle in the first place.
We collectively decided to give them bows instead of scrunchies because it is a very 80s look and the scrunchies wouldn't be seen as easily or go as well with their hairstyles. But when he added Chandler's, we thought it looked a little plain, just the same as the other two, and I wondered if it would be possible to make it sparkly using the texture of Jessica's dress to make it stand out. Not only did Skully achieve this perfectly, he also came up with adding the little "tails" of the ribbon to make it look even more special. Look at that result.
But what makes all of that even more amazing is that all of Odette-as-Chandler's accessories came AFTER what I would consider one of the pieces de résistance if not the most difficult part of this entire edit. No matter how I looked at it, Holli's original dress with nothing added to it seemed way too simple and almost plain on the top part. Plus, Chandler's jackets are a staple in her wardrobe, both in the movie and then the musical, but especially so in the musical, which this edit is more based on. I genuinely had no idea of what we could do or if there was anything we could do at all.
So Skully, the absolute madman, decided to do that entire cardigan FROM SCRATCH. I gave some ideas as to how it would fall on her body and how open it could be to showcase the tiny waist and big bust that we had chosen the body for, but it was Skully that did a million and a half tiny adjustments to get it looking perfect. Then he added lineart, too. Btw, both Chel's dress and Ariel's hair recolor needed new lines and lineart that he also added himself.
It took at least an hour to do that cardigan alone, and when I tell you my jaw was on the floor I'm not exaggerating. I didn't even think you could do that with the app he uses. Did I mention he did all this ON HIS PHONE?
And after the Cardigan From Hell was done, which I'm reasonably sure gave him an honest-to-god migraine, he still had the patience to listen to me about all the tiny details about the accessories and come up with the ideas I've mentioned above with the bracelets, the tails of the bow and so on, and even do some final fine-tuning on the other two.
This took almost 8 hours and he did it in one go. And his primary motivation was to cheer the both of us up because we're both going through a rough patch. All those months ago when I first had the idea for the Heathers edit I could not have imagined that it would look like this.
All in all Skully is insanely patient, talented and hardworking, and I frankly can only imagine what his stuff is going to look like as he continues practicing. He's also a wonderful friend to me, not just for doing this and other edits to cheer me up but for not throttling me during the collab process as I was talking about each little detail xD
I'm frankly amazed every time I look at this. Funnily enough, he decided to do this shortly after that incredibly rude anon a few days back that threw an impressive tantrum and that insulted both his work and the fact that he's transgender for absolutely no reason other than coming across this incredibly creepy and stalkery towards another editor, whose attention Anon apparently decided Skully didn't deserve. He was upset about it for a bit, and when he approached me to do this edit, he said he both wanted to challenge himself and to not let a person like that steal away his passion. Well, would you look at that. Anon can kindly eat their heart out, and it's pretty clear to me that as he keeps practicing, the sky's the limit to what Skully either can do already or will learn to do.
I'm humbled to have been a part of this and incredibly happy I ever sent you that first message and we became fast friends. You were absolutely right in what you said, and look at this stunning result.
Here's to many more edits and to seeing you grow. 💜
224th edit and with help by @little-bloodied-angel I give you peeps of the world, this edit. BD Please note it is based off the musical, which was a film.
I do know though rewatch this movie (here a link the trailer) and look into listening the music from the musical. I just know the movie as my celebrity crush Winona Ryder in it. :D
I am stunned to think I made this, as this may be my most detailed edit to date. Please note again @little-bloodied-angel did help by suggestions and to review each huge step. Often I am confident on my ability to bring to life an edit request, but this one I know I needed to have another pair of eyes to review and this came out so well. =D By the way @airasora I now understand way too well the pain of editing a light blond haired character who is white, and trying to avoid making the flesh and hair blend in with each other. XD
Not sure who to credit, as @little-bloodied-angel gave me this for hair color reference, but awesome gender-bend of Cinderella. =D

Pirate AU - Shore Leave
A coupla times this week I randomly got inspired to write some Pirate AU stuff. And I got some good news yesterday, so I decided I’d post the stuff I wrote. Like a gift to myself, that kind of thing.
So here’s some more Pirate AU content, but most importantly, some Pirate AU Stangie content. Plus a bit of bonus Shermie content. Enjoy.
(For context, this takes place a few years after this ficlet.)
——————————————————————————————
“Thanks for watching the kids, Maria,” Stan whispered. “You can head home.” Maria got up from the kitchen table. On her way out, she tsked at Angie.
“You know better, mija. Be smarter and faster next time.”
“Of course, Maria,” Angie said. Maria shook her head disapprovingly one last time, then left.
“Sit down, you gotta get off your feet,” Stan instructed his wife. Angie obediently took a seat at the table. Stan sat next to her. “Angie.”
“It’s a good thing I’m pregnant,” Angie said jovially. Stan scowled.
“Then we must be defining ‘good thing’ differently,” he growled.
“If I wasn’t pregnant, I wouldn’t have been able to delay ‘em hangin’ me,” Angie said. “Without that, you ‘n the crew wouldn’t have rescued me from the clink in time.”
“You got caught pirating!” Stan snapped. “You were about to be hanged! Yeah, you were able to delay it this time, but next time?” Silently, he thanked whatever deity he believed in that day that they had come back from the rescue mission late enough the kids were asleep.
Don’t want ‘em to see their parents fight. And judging by Angie’s already frustrated expression, this was definitely going to be a fight.
“There won’t be a next time.”
“You’re damn right.” Stan met Angie’s eyes squarely. “‘Cause you’re giving up piracy.” Angie’s eyes flashed with anger.
“You have no right-”
“To what? Want my wife safe? Want my kids to grow up with both parents? Angie, I can’t- I can’t live like this anymore! I can’t watch you go to sea, knowing that you might not come back. I love you too damn much to let you keep throwing your life away like this!”
“This is the first time I’ve been caught,” Angie said, but her voice lacked some of the bite it had earlier.
“Now that it’s happened once, it’s gonna happen again.” Stan reached out and took ahold of one of Angie’s hands. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, feeling the thick scars from years of piracy. “There are some injuries that, when you recover from ‘em, you’re never the same. You’ve had a lot of those. It’s already started catching up with you. You know that.” Angie looked away.
“I…”
“Give me a single reason you can’t leave piracy.”
“You know my reasons.”
“They were reasons you had when you first started. But they don’t matter anymore, Ang! Your name – your real one – got cleared. You’ve got a family and a home. You’ve got money. Give me a reason that still applies.”
“I…” Angie looked down at the floor. After a moment, she sighed. Without saying a word, she got up and walked away.
Shit. Did I overstep? Stan started to get up. No. He sat back down. Give her a bit of space. You know how she is. When a few minutes had passed, Stan couldn’t hold himself back any longer. He followed her outside. In the light of the full moon, he could see her talking to Dan. He walked over.
“Thanks fer savin’ me,” Angie said quietly. “Not just- not just tonight. All those other times. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t fer you.” Wordlessly, Dan enveloped her in a hug. “Take good care of her, Dan,” Angie said, her voice cracking with emotion. They broke apart. Dan ruffled Angie’s hair, nodded at Stan, and began to walk down the road that led to town.
“What was that about?” Stan asked. Angie’s shoulders shook. “Ang, is everything all right?”
“No! I’m- I’m pregnant, I’m sure it’s twins again, I was almost hanged tonight, and I just gave up everything I spent most of my life buildin’ up!” Angie snapped.
“You…”
“Dan’s goin’ to run Sweet Viola fer a few months before easin’ her out of the game.” Angie’s head drooped. “This pirate king is hangin’ up her crown.”
“Angie.” Stan tilted Angie’s chin to look into her eyes. Eyes the color of the sea. “Thank you.”
“You never thank folks,” Angie mumbled.
“That’s how you know I’m serious.” Stan grinned. “And you’re not giving up all the shit you spent so long on. You’ve still got me. You’ve still got the kids. All five of ‘em.”
“No, darlin’, it’s definitely goin’ to be six,” Angie insisted.
“What makes you so sure?”
“A woman knows.”
“If you say so.”
“That’s no way to talk to yer captain.”
“You just gave up your ship,” Stan pointed out. Angie looked away. Stan wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “I’m just kidding, babe. You’ll always be my captain.”
“Damn straight,” Angie muttered. “By the way, I might be givin’ up piracy, but I ain’t givin’ up thievery.”
“Good,” Stan said. “I’m gonna need your help to keep the shop stocked.” Angie managed a soft laugh. The two stayed outside. Their home was atop a seaside cliff, from which they could see the dark ocean reflecting the pale moonlight.
Angie buried her head in Stan’s shirt, crying, as her ship disappeared over the horizon for the last time.
-----
They walked past a shop with a number of nice dresses in the storefront window. Promptly, Danny and Daisy made a beeline for it, cooing over the fancy fabrics. The whole family was in town to run a few errands. Stan glanced at his wife. Angie wasn’t happy she had been dragged out of the house, but Emmett refused to go anywhere without her.
“Mama, look!” Danny said excitedly, pointing at the dresses. Angie forced a smile.
“Yes, dear, they’re very nice.”
“You should get it! It would look so pretty on you!”
“She’s got a point,” Stan whispered to her. Angie sighed heavily.
“It would be nice to have some more clothin’ options. I noticed the other day that I don’t have many dresses.”
“What are you talking about? You’ve got plenty!”
“Yes, fer this!” Angie gestured to her enormous baby bump. With how big she was getting, Stan had finally begun to agree Angie was likely right, that they were having twins for a third time. “But after I give birth? Most of the clothes what ‘ll fit me were fer workin’ on the ship.”
“So, something that a nice housewife wouldn’t wear,” Stan said. Angie nodded. “Well, want me to treat you to somethin’ nice?” Angie rolled her eyes.
“I don’t think even you can steal a whole dress in public without bein’ caught, darlin’.”
“I wasn’t gonna steal it. I was gonna buy it.”
“Buy it?” Angie put her hands on her hips. “Who are you and what have ya done with my husband?” she asked, aghast. Stan laughed. “It’s prob’ly expensive. I’m fine.”
“After the kids are born and you’re back to normal, I’ll get you somethin’ fancy, okay?” Stan said. He held out his arm. Angie took it with a smile.
“All right. If ya insist.” She leaned in to talk quietly. “Darlin’, in all seriousness, yer okay with buyin’ somethin’ rather than stealin’ it?”
“Ang, I haven’t done much crime ashore. Only small stuff I know I can get away with. I didn’t wanna risk getting caught and leaving the kids all alone while you were at sea.”
“…Right.” Angie sighed again. “I keep forgettin’ how little I’ve been on land with you ‘n the kids.”
“You’ve got plenty of time to catch up on everything.”
“Yes. Since I’m now permanently on shore leave.” Angie raised her voice. “Girls, leave the dresses alone, we have to go to the market.” Reluctantly, Danny and Daisy abandoned the dresses and ran back to their parents.
“Papa, I wanna piggy-back ride,” Daisy whined. From his perch atop Stan’s shoulders, Emory blew a raspberry at his older sister.
“Emory’s got littler legs than you do,” Stan said. Daisy crossed her arms.
“Emmett’s walking just fine!” she argued, gesturing at Emmett, who was holding Stan’s hand.
“What have we talked about?” Angie asked patiently. Daisy pouted.
“Being a good big sister,” she muttered. Angie ruffled her hair.
“Don’t worry, honey, when we get to the market, you can do some more pocket practice,” she cooed. Daisy’s eyes lit up. She nodded. The family continued walking down the street, Danny and Daisy running ahead eagerly. Stan grinned cheekily at Angie.
“You’re getting lazy, having the kids pickpocket for you,” he teased.
“I’m too pregnant to be quiet and get away fast,” Angie said.
“Fair.”
“I’m glad that even if yer not willin’ to do much crime lately, yer not extendin’ that to the kidlets.”
“It’s a lot easier to brush off a six-year-old taking something than a grown adult.”
“Mm, true enough.” Angie smoothed the fabric of her dress. “Once I’m shipshape, I’ll get to restockin’ the shop, darlin’.” She smirked. “I’m damn fine at sleight of hand. Not to mention, no one would accuse the sweet housewife of larceny.” Stan chuckled.
“I knew I married the right woman.”
“Mama, what’s larson?” Emmett asked abruptly. Angie smiled at her son.
“A grown-up word ya don’t need to worry ‘bout.”
“Like ‘damn’,” Emory said helpfully. Stan and Angie grimaced.
“…We should probably work on cleaning up our sailors’ mouths if we wanna avoid attracting attention,” Stan said quietly. Angie nodded.
“Agreed.”
-----
Shermie walked up to the unassuming house. A large sign outside read “McGucket’s Marine Antiques”.
This is the right place, then. Good. Being a merchant, Shermie had to spend a lot of time away from his family, so he made sure to bring back souvenirs from each trip. This trip, to a small town called Gravity Falls, had been woefully bereft of potential souvenirs. As such, he’d been relieved when a local told him about the store on the edge of town full of fun and sparkly things.
“Ma’am,” he said politely to the woman sitting on the porch, supervising two toddler boys playing on the front lawn. On either side of her was a basket holding a young infant. The woman looked up at him curiously. Recognition flickered in her eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, one of the infants began to fuss. The woman quickly began to soothe the infant. Shermie ducked into the house. The room he was in looked like a proper shop. Shelves lined the walls, groaning underneath the merchandise. Some larger items, like a rusted anchor, were set on the floor, with price tags that seemed far too high to Shermie. Two young girls in the corner giggled to each other as they picked through a box on the floor full of even more small items.
“Welcome to McGucket’s Marine Antiques!” a voice boomed. A familiar voice. Shermie’s eyes widened. He turned. Behind the store counter was a face he hadn’t seen in over a decade.
“Stanley?” Shermie croaked. His little brother gaped.
“…Shermie?”
“Stan, what are you- how- you-” Shermie ran his hands through his hair. “The people in town said the man who ran this store was named Stan McGucket, not Stan Pines.” Stan grimaced.
“Yeah. Uh…” Stan looked over at the girls in the corner. “Danny, Daisy.” The girls looked up. One had the distinctive Pines nose. “If anyone comes in, go get your ma and have her handle the customer.” The girls nodded. “All right, Shermie, come with me, I’ll answer all your questions.”
“You better,” Shermie mumbled. Stan pushed open a door located behind the counter. Shermie followed him into the house proper. The living room they walked into was cozy and nautical-themed, full of décor that looked like it came from a ship. Stan gestured to a couch. Shermie sat down. Stan sat in a chair across from him.
“The people in town said this place was run by Stan McGucket because it is.”
“But how-”
“I’ll tell you everything, but first, what do you know?” Stan asked. Shermie raised an eyebrow.
That’s…interesting. Stan’s careful dodge reminded Shermie a lot of how his brother would construct lies as a teen. He would ask what someone knew, then build his lie around that information. Asking first allowed him to avoid contradicting something known to the person he was lying to. Hopefully he’s not lying to me now. I’ve fallen out of practice seeing through Stan’s lies.
“You were captured by pirates over a decade ago,” Shermie said, deciding to take Stan at face value. “At some point after you were captured by pirates, Stanford disappeared at sea.” Stan nodded.
“Yeah, that’s right.” He sighed. “Ford actually caught up to the ship I was captive on. I got free in the fight, but Ford…he…” Stan looked down at the ground. “Well, I didn’t see his body, so I’m holding onto the hope that he’s still alive.”
“Stan…”
“The people in town know me as Stan McGucket ‘cause that’s my name now,” Stan continued, talking over Shermie. “While I was captured by pirates, one of them decided he liked my name and took it. I didn’t like the idea of sharing a name with a pirate, so I took my wife’s last name.”
That smells like a lie. Shermie’s brain caught up with what Stan was saying. Wait, what?
“You’re married?” Shermie asked.
“Yeah. You saw Angie – my wife – outside. At least, I hope you did. She said she was watching four of the kids out there.”
“I…” Shermie kneaded his forehead. “Okay. Now I need to know how you met your wife.”
“After I escaped from the pirates, I decided to stay at sea to look for Ford. I didn’t- I didn’t wanna come home without him, y’know?”
“Yes, I do,” Shermie said quietly.
“I managed to get a spot on board a merchant ship where her brother, Lute, was first mate. He was looking for her after she got captured by pirates. Eventually, we found the ship she was on and rescued her.”
“You…you rescued your future wife from pirates?” Shermie asked, dumbfounded. Stan nodded. “Why am I not surprised?” Stan smirked slightly.
“We both stayed at sea as merchants,” he continued, “and fell in love pretty quick. After we had the first set of twins, I decided to move ashore with ‘em. Angie, she, uh-” He laughed quietly. “She decided to keep sailing. Even after we had another set of twins.”
“Really?”
“What can I say? I married a free spirit.”
Makes sense Stan would find someone like himself.
“When she found out she was pregnant for the third time, though, we had a long talk, and decided that she’d move ashore with me permanently. I like having her close by.”
“I’d imagine having her help with the kids would be nice as well.”
“Eh. We’ve got some former crewmates in town that love watching the kids,” Stan said with a shrug. “That’s why we settled here. With that help, keeping track of the kids wasn’t what I was concerned about. I missed my wife.” There was something more, though. A haunted look lingered in Stan’s eyes.
“You were worried about her safety,” Shermie said. Stan looked away. “I can’t blame you. It’s dangerous to be a merchant.”
He’s already lost his twin to the sea. Of course he doesn’t want to lose his wife, too.
“Yeah, well.” Stan cleared his throat. “I’ve got Angie on shore with me now. We’ve got six great kids. Life’s pretty good.”
“Yes. I can see that. Mom will be relieved to hear you’re fine.”
“She’s gonna show up within a week of you telling her,” Stan mumbled.
“Can you blame her?” Shermie asked. Stan shook his head.
“Not after having my own kids, no.” The door opened. The woman from outside, who Shermie now knew to be Stan’s wife, Angie, poked her head into the room.
“Darlin’, should I be plannin’ on an extra person fer dinner?” she asked. Shermie tried to hide his surprise at Angie’s strong accent.
“No need,” Shermie said, getting up from the couch. “I need to be going back to my ship before long. But before I head out, I should do what I came here to do.”
“What’d you come here for?” Stan asked, getting up as well.
“To buy something for my kids.” Shermie raised an eyebrow. “Might I be able to get a family discount from my little brother that disappeared for ten years?” Stan sighed heavily. “If I get a good deal, I might forget to mention you to Mom for a few days…” A twinkle appeared in Stan’s eye.

But back to the plot...or what I think is supposed to be a plot?
And to absolutely no one’s surprise, Mamo gets kidnapped!
And the mini bosses are fighting each other again. Like the girls don’t need to do anything in this musical. The problems seem to be solving themselves
Awe shit, I think we were supposed to like the guy team of mini bosses, I’m pretty sure we like sparkly shirt because she and Endymion bonded over their shared love of aggressively shiny fabric, and she seems sad. So, sad…i guess?
Meanwhile the villains who dress in highs school gym wrestling mats seem to be powering up…so…fuck those guys…I guess?
But Shiny lady made this door with all the planet symbols light up, so that’s probably a good thing
“Farewell, please take my ponytail so you never forget me or my aggressively reflective clothing.”
Oh FUCK YEAH! La Soldier! Hands down best Sailor Moon song (other than Moonlight Densetsu of course)
Yeah! Transformed and ready to kick some ass!

Love Through A Lens: Euphoric Events
Pairing: GamingYouTuber!Jungkook x BeautyGuru!Y/N
Rating: Teen
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Mentions of drinking (Stay safe and never drink and drive or drink under age)
Summary: You throw a Halloween party with your Youtuber boyfriend that turns out much better than expected.
Word count: 1033
A/N: Hope you all like it. This is a Halloween special with the couple. It’s really soft and fluffy. Stay safe, have fun, and Happy Halloween!!! ~Bagel
“What’s up guys? This video is gonna be a little different. I’m going to have you follow me around today as I set up a party for a Halloween party that’s tonight. First is decorations because this space is boring.” The next minute of the video shows you running around while decorating. Kook walking in about halfway through and telling you what needs to get done. You roll your eyes and looks down at him from your place on the ladder.
“Why don’t you do it if it looks so bad?” You point out. He shrugs and starts to grab out the remaining decorations in the box. You guys talk about the remaining things that need to get bought and done. Causing you to leave Kook at the house as you run out to get the snacks, drinks, and booze. Once the door closes Jungkook turns around and addresses the camera. Taking a small black velvet box out of his pocket.
“Okay. So it’s been a year since I’ve gotten this and it’s been hidden in my bedside table ever since.” He says as he opens it up to show the simple and elegant ring inside. “And I’ve finally gotten the courage to ask her tonight. She has no idea, but I told everyone what’s going to happen. I’ve planned this out for so long. I want to make this special since this is her favorite holiday and she’s been hinting to this for a while now.” He explains. Giving a quick wink and smile before getting up. “Don’t tell her about this though. It’s a secret.” He jokes. Returning back to the decorating.
“Okay. It is 7 o’clock and that means everyone is going to arrive here soon. I am dressed as an e-girl because I can and it’s fun makeup.” You tell the future audience. Pointing the camera towards the full length mirror to show off the costume. “Everything is from my personal closet. I only had to buy the fishnets.” You inform them. Jungkook walks by in his vampire costume, that consists of a pair of fangs he bought at a pop up Halloween store and some fake blood splattered on his neck on top of his normal clothing of choice, and ruffles your hair. Causing you two to playfully bicker about it and ending with a make up kiss. “Anyways. I need to go down and welcome our guests. I’ll check in later.”
True to your word you walk down to the entrance and begin to say hi to the people that arrive. Most of them were in low effort costumes and just wanting to have fun with friends. The most notable person was Taehyung dressed up as Dorothy with Yeontan as Toto. Down to the basket and a pair of red sparkly heels that you know that you would break an ankle in. Making him even more of a giant than normal. With other notable efforts being Namjoon was a professor and Yoongi had a vampire that rivaled Jungkook’s in terms of low effort. Jennie showed up in an amazing Sailor Moon costume and Jimin was a werewolf. Complete with yellow contacts and a ripped flannel shirt and in true form was hitting on everyone that was willing to flirt back with him.
The night goes fairly uneventfully besides running out of the spiked apple cider that you made and making Jimin pout as he told you this fact and Yoongi taking over the music playlist because according to him “you chose the most cliche Halloween songs” and the “he could do much better”.
You break out the camera along with your other YouTube friends when you’re feeling glassy eyed from the alcohol and feel the need to give an update to everyone. You were riding a high and got some good footage. The party drawing to a close around 11.
Jungkook pulls you aside into the kitchen after you say goodbye to the last of the guests that’s not staying behind do to being too drunk to drive or has a designated driver to take them home. Your camera getting set down on one of the counters while still recording. Kook pulling your attention before you can turn it off.
“Baby. What are you doing? We need to clean up. It’s a mess.” You whine as you wrap your arms around his neck with his hands on your hips. Pulling you close to him and stealing kisses. Causing you to giggle and lean further into the man in front of you.
“I need to do something before we do work.” He kisses you once more before pulling back. Reaching into his hoodie pocket and presenting the box to you.
You blink a few times as your mind tries to connect the dots. Your body in shock as he opens it and drops to one knee. His words muffled in your ears as you break through the shock and feel the tears start to fall down your face.
“Y/N L/N. I love you so much. You are my world and my happiness. I never want to see you go. Will you marry me?”
The last question causes you to fall to your knees and pull him into a hug. Nearly chanting yes into his ear as you wet his shoulder. He gently guides you to pull away to place the ring on your finger before you lunge into kissing him again.
You both just sit on the floor in each others arms as you try to calm down. Looking at him only shows his love and adoration for you. Sheer elation at your answer of yes. He kisses your forehead and stands up while still holding you.
“Well my love. Do you still want to clean up or just go to bed?” His lips brushing against your temple as he asks.
“Bed please. I love you.”
“Love you too my fiance.” He smiles and kisses your temple once more before walking towards the bedroom. Letting you grab the camera on your way out.
“She said yes guys.” He says softly. Causing you to shake your head and turn off the camera after saying a soft goodbye.

Autism/ADHD/Anxiety things from my childhood
- I was quite sensory seeking (I loved car rides, rolling down hills, jumping off my dresser onto my bed, spinning in chairs, staring at sparkly things, etc). I was probably more sensory seeking than sensory avoidant.
- I toe walked and never grew out of that.
- I developed trichotillomania and trichophagia in 3rd grade. I went from having eyebrows to not having eyebrows. Kids thought I shaved my eyebrows.
- I had a habit of running away in stressful situations.
- I was pretty decent in school. I got awards for being nice(it’s not hard to be nice) and for excelling in reading. I read at my grade level and beyond(adult books)
- I loved to read and I actually got in trouble often for reading in class instead of listening to the lesson
- I was pretty crap at subjects that were not language arts.
- My mom said that I got along with kids and played with anyone willing to play with me, but I was shy around adults. She thought that was interesting since I was an only child. She said that she couldn’t keep me from playing.
- That’s pretty true. I loved to play especially if I got my way.
- Even though I played with others I had like one actual best friend(I think) that I was always attached to and through her I had other friends. I considered me and this girl best friends even though our friendship pretty much stayed at school(like most of my friendships).
- The thing is that even though I considered this girl my best friend, I’m not so sure she totally considered me her best friend. She had other friends and when she would want to play with them I was basically like “well who do I have then?” I would insert myself into their little friendship even if they kinda wanted their own thing.
- I never actually had any friends over to my place.I only had cousins (1 cousin really) over to my place.
- I don’t have any photos with friends outside of a school setting and the photos that I do have with friends in a school setting are class photos.
- My birthday parties (that my mom planned) only had my cousins and no friends. I don’t think I ever actually invited any of my friends. I do know that I only had cousins and their parents there. I pretty much just liked getting gifts and having my parents wish me happy birthday. That was enough for me.
- I think I was only ever invited to one birthday party in elementary school. No, it was not my best friend’s birthday party lol
- I think in all of my years of elementary school I’ve called like one friend and it wasn’t the girl who was my best friend. I called this girl one time and never again. I never liked talking on the phone. It was like pulling teeth. My parents always had to remind me to call my grandparents or whoever.
- Years later when I would notice friends that I went to elementary school with, I would remember them, but they would either not remember me or they would just keep it to “hey, cool bye”. This even happened with my best friend from elementary school when I saw her outside of my high school. So sometimes I feel like maybe I didn’t actually have friends in elementary school. I was most likely just tolerated because I was nice lol 😂
- In elementary school I was called “mean” by other kids and even my friends before for having an opinion or for saying “no”. I never understood this, but I do know that I was so desperate for folks to like me and be my friend that I just ended up giving in or changing my opinion.
- I was very talkative. The teacher would tell the class to be quiet and I would still be trying to have conversations about my favorite book or something. I would literally be the only one still talking so I got in trouble for that quite often. Even though people were ignoring me because they were supposed to be quiet, I was still talking to them. Literally everyone got the cue except me.
- I talked to myself a lot especially when I was at home. I had whole conversations with myself and my mom would always ask who I was talking to. I would respond with “nobody” to not seem super weird. Sometimes I was honest and would say “myself”.
- I never had imaginary friends though because they just didn’t make sense to me. I always knew I was talking to myself and not a invisible friend.
- In elementary school some of my special interests gave me anxiety. For example, I got into tornadoes and hurricanes so I was constantly on the look out for signs of them. Those tornado watch alerts literally made my heart race. I also had a safety plan for if a tornado were to ever touch down. I read every book in my library on tornadoes and extreme weather.
- I was always sensitive to certain smells and foods and they would make me gag. I remember when I did a children’s summer program the smell of the food made me so sick and light headed that often times I decided to just go hungry. It was like a smell that nobody else could smell.
- I think I can remember everything that I ate as a kid because I pretty much ate the same thing.
- I was also very particular about how my food was prepared and the ratios. I always had to have the correct amount of peanut butter to jelly on my sandwich or the correct amount of skin to chicken with my chicken tenders. My parents don’t know this but if the foods were not the correct ratios or textures or if they made me sick then I would wrap them in toilet paper/paper towel and throw them in the trash can. I got that idea from a tv show.
- As you can see I kept a lot of things from my mom and grandma.
- I also watched the same tv shows/movies over and over again in the same sitting for hours. I remember I couldn’t find my incredibles movie dvd, but I had the behind the scenes dvd, so I spent hours going through every option on that behind the scenes disk. None of my tapes/DVDs play all the way through because I have rewound them so much.
- When blockbuster still existed I rented the same 4 sailor moon tapes and justice league movie every time.
- I learned a lot from tv and took the story lines quite seriously and tried to mesh them with everyday life. That didn’t always work out and sometimes got me in trouble with students/friends.
- I imitated characters. I am most likely an amalgamation of every character I’ve ever watched.
- I have this stim where I smell and rub my face across my arm. I’ve had that one since forever.
-I have a lot of tactile/vestibular/olfactory stims.
- I don’t think I’ve ever had a real sense of danger because my mom has complained that I’ve put myself in dangerous situations and was completely oblivious to them.
- Inappropriate giggling/smiling
- I’ve always had sort of a hard time seeing things from others perspectives.
- I cried a lot especially when I was away from my mom and grandma. I cried when I went to pre-school which is fine because it’s a new environment, but I also cried when I was left with family members as well. I would literally cry until my body just gave out.
- My mom said that I was very observant and at 5 years old I asked her why all of my toys were made in China. I also asked if most things we had were made in China. I examined my toys a lot.
-I loved the way my toys looked and felt
- I didn’t have the best tone control. I was always told to speak up. The funny thing is I could also be extremely loud especially when excited. I would scream if I was excited or even spooked(?) and I was so loud that teachers would literally come to the area and be like “yo who is that screaming ? I can hear this person all the way down the hall”
- I constantly ruined my clothes and things at school( not on purpose) and my mom would be upset but I could never see why she was upset even after she explained to me why she was upset. I also could never remember how my clothes ended up so dirty or how I lost jackets because there was just so much going on and the day moved so fast.
- I constantly misheard things as a child. I could be at a movie or have my tv all the way up and I could hear what people were saying but not comprehend it. It sounded like another language sometimes. I hated when people would whisper from the across the room so I would say “I can’t understand what you’re saying”. I think I was shouting that because I would get weird looks or people would just say “nevermind”.
- My mom brought me expensive gold lockets, but I broke every last one because I couldn’t stop myself from chewing on the chain and the actual locket. I pretty much wanted the locket because tigger had one in the tigger movie lol
- I chewed on my erasers and pen grips.
- I loved collecting things like rocks(geodes) and stationary and so I was kind of a pack rat lol
- My mom was happy to have a girl because that meant we could go shopping. Unfortunately I was not that interested in shopping for clothes when I was younger. When my mom would get excited about shopping for clothes for the both of us I would be like “can I buy books?” The only times I really cared about clothes and purses was if I saw the main character in a movie I was currently cared about clothes and purses. My mom enjoyed dressing me while she could though.
- When I was in elementary school I was going to a wedding and my mom said that I needed to dress up. I wanted to wear my new comfortable tracksuit so that’s what I wore. I was comfortable but extremely underdressed. I had a good time but felt out of place lol
- When I played with dolls I pretty much just set up scenes with very little dialogue. I did play teacher and I used my moms lottery tickets as scantron sheets. Sometimes I played teacher with my dolls, but dolls can’t write so i usually ended up being the teacher and the student.
-I was always hard on myself in elementary school. I started having negative thoughts starting in like 4th or 5th grade.
- I remember in 4th(?) grade being obsessed with ophelias suicide that was in a Shakespeare poem book. I didn’t have the most normal interests. My mom was always confused as to why I was into such dark themed subjects as a kid.
- I hated when my clothes would bunch up under my arms from too many layers and I still can’t stand that.
- my skin also seemed to be super sensitive and it’s almost like I could feel it moving which caused me to itch and I had to scratch myself extremely hard to get the itch to go away. I still have this problem today.
- I was and still am violently ticklish.
- I have never had good handwriting and a lot of my papers had words scribbled out and arrow marks where words should be. My written papers did and still do look horrible. Either you want me to write fast and have my paper be a complete mess or give me enough time to write slow and have a semi-neat paper. Thank god for computers.
- my mom tried her best to get me to learn cursive. I tried at school, my mom got me a cursive book and she tried to practice with me. I never learned proper cursive and I never completed that cursive book which frustrated my mom when I was younger. I would literally just sit there sometimes and stare at the book.
- I hated learning time on a analog clock, that was tough. It really took me a while to totally get it and I’m so glad my grandma always had a digital clock when I was younger. I relied on other kids who got it to help me. Still to this day I have to remind myself which hand is which and I’m 21. At 21 years old I’m still like “okay the small hand is the hour hand and it’s on the 3, the big hand is the minute hand and it’s on the 9”. Lol
- I would daydream and doodle especially in math class and so I got in trouble for not paying attention.
-I am happy that my mom and grandma were very hands on with me because if she wasn’t, I don’t think I would’ve gotten anything done tbh lol

October 2020
To buttress - increase the strength of or justification for; reinforce / to mollycoddle - to give someone too much care or protection.
A letter from Nina. One of those weird internet connections. Not my first one, certainly not my last one.
Frank’s DnD backstory reads quite insightful/poetic to me as he has taken so much from his life. He might have done it without intent but it’s quite obvious to me. I’ve agreed to make a character sketch for him. I’m looking forward to the challenge but I’m also afraid of starting the project because obviously I want it to be perfect. Anyway so the other night I sat at his kitchen table and started drawing a facial composite for his goliath. Lots of sketches actually with him giving me some prompts and ideas. I think he loved watching me do my magic. What a peaceful moment.
Applause from some students. Simply for entering the room. They must really hate their English teacher, eh?
I’ve started forming the habit of drawing tarot cards on a full moon and new moon night. It helps me set an intention for the following two weeks. So on the first of October I drew the Queen of Wands to represent me and I’m loving it. It’s the perfect choice.
The fabric dyeing process for the Plot exhibition at Haus der Kunst
Inviting warmth into my life. Wearing appropriately warm clothing. Even hats. Drinking tea all the time. Turning the heating on even though it’s only September. Warm breakfast. Ayurveda inspiration. Hot baths. Thinking about buying an electric heating blanket for my bed.So far I’ve been taking a hot water bottle to bed with me pretty much every night.
Finding one of those Barts woolly animal hats online. This one came with tigers. And the seller sent me a cherry marzipan teabag. I enjoyed it on a cold and rainy Saturday morning.
FAQ: The Status of the Shits Women Have Left to Give
Reading the final scenes of Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone trilogy. I actually took the wrong bus one evening and ended up in front of one of the Pinakotheken instead of Villa Stuck. I must have been quite immersed. I’m very happy with the ending. I mean, the main character is walking around the house barefoot with the smell of fresh paint following her, her hair loose. What a wonderful image.
The wind blowing through the maple trees outside my living room window. I’m just going to quote a Wikipedia article to explain what happened next: The distinctive fruits are called samaras, “maple keys”, “helicopters”, “whirlybirds” or “polynoses”. These seeds occur in distinctive pairs each containing one seed enclosed in a “nutlet” attached to a flattened wing of fibrous, papery tissue. They are shaped to spin as they fall and to carry the seeds a considerable distance on the wind. People often call them “helicopters” due to the way that they spin as they fall. During World War II, the US Army developed a special airdrop supply carrier that could carry up to 65 pounds (29 kg) of supplies and was based on the maple seed.
Monsieur Wiener - I’ve paid him a visit when I had problems with my analogue Pentax camera!
I don’t know why but one dark Friday evening I slipped into the empty church at Odeonsplatz. I loved the peaceful atmosphere, the specific smell and the red church candles flickering.
I loved meeting Flo. We had such a great time, constantly joking, talking about this and that. Sailor Mercury, Hades, our family. His wink. He said that I had been exactly right but in the end apparently I wasn’t. It stung because he had been one of the rare guys in the last months (years, actually) I actually liked. Oh well. I guess it wasn’t meant to be after all. This is what the Universe had to say about it the other day: There are no accidents. If it’s appeared on your life’s radar, this is why: to teach you that dreams come true; to reveal that you have the power to fix what’s broken and heal what hurts; to catapult you beyond seeing with just your physical senses; and to lift the veils that have kept you from seeing that you’re already the person you dreamed you’d become.
Videos of Marno and Erin together. Also: she is so freakin’ beautiful as a marauder.
A surprise call from Ann-Katrin.
Sweet chai tea with milk.
The bright moonlight making the neighbours’ roof look like fish scales.
Forensic linguistics. I listened to a podcast episode about the Unabomber who was only discovered after his brother had noticed some stylistic irregularities in his manifesto. You can’t eat your cake and have it too.
Autumn leaves. Especially when it’s just the outer leaves turning red or yellow while the rest of the foliage is still green.
Sitting next to my ten-year-old student Ella on the bus on our way home on a Friday afternoon. She’s a very chatty Gemini and even though her self-importance and constant talking can be quite annoying I’ve kinda taken a liking to her.
A bunch of Alstroemeria in my dark green glass vase on the desk. A pretty image.
I still appreciate how beautiful my LuLuLemon thermos bottle is after all this time.
I should probably mention my new hair (extensions). Well, it looks absolutely gorgeous from the front. But I already know that I won’t get them again because you can see the glue in a few places, it’s quite hard, often painful and feels unnatural. And of course it’s much too expensive.
Baby carrots with King hummus.
My lunch dates with Becky.
Making my favourite sour thai curry. With rice noodles. And peanuts and cilantro. Yum.
Starting to work on a big soapstone sculpture. It’s going to be a hand! I love it when I have a group of calm students. It allows me to work on a project with them.
Making delicious pumpkin lasagna.
Visiting Manu’s mum. Making plum dumplings together. A fun afternoon in their kitchen.
A very cosy Sunday. Waking up at 5:30am. Watching Practical Magic in bed. Having a slice of pumpkin lasagna for breakfast. A sudden urge to get out, dressing up to keep out the cold, going out, early, streetlights still on. A walk through the woods. I loved how calm everything was. Being out before all the others had a chance to disturb the stillness with their kids and dogs and bicycles. Making lebkuchen. Lots of pecans. Having a nap. Writing a letter. Drawing weird mushrooms and bugs.
Autumnal smells. The moist smell of the forest ground, mushrooms, the smell of chimneys on a cold Sunday morning. Incense, gingerbread spices. Facial oil with lavender and iris. Roasted pecans.
A crafty day. I made a haunted house, some ghosts, spiders, bats, skulls and pumpkins out of paper.
Schlurp.
Meeting Frank in front of Residenztheater. The whole square was empty, he was the only person there. Waiting for me. Looking up to the opera roof. What an impressive building.
Talking about living life in story mode and action mode. I feel so stuck in action mode at the moment and desperately want to switch to story mode. Fantasy, magic, coincidences and meaning.
Spicy pumpkin recipes in the current issue of Schrot und Korn.
Rice and hazelnut milk as a bedtime treat.
Collecting autumn leaves. Chestnuts, acorns, feathers, beechnuts. Making a little autumnal alter with some crystals.
Thursday mornings. So much time for myself. Lots of tea, warm breakfast.
Treating myself to massages and nice facial creams and serums. Ya Yah is such a gifted person. I love her massages the most. The other day I also got a facial for the first time in many many years. It was nice to be wrapped in an extremely fluffy blanket. When the bright lights were on I could see different colours after closing my eyes and imagined being at a tropical beach. Unintentional ASMR sounds from the rubber gloves. Cosy.
Spicy winter tea in my new thermos bottle. The steam swirling up from my favourite mug (the moon phase mug I bough in Canada).
Buying cheap sparkly stickers, washi tape and stamps. Just because.
Pecan nuts are the BEST. Crazy delicious.
Porridge with coconut milk and mango for breakfast. Persimmons. Candles in the morning.
Gloomy twilight. The dark hour right before sunset/sunrise. Spooky black silhouettes against the ink blue or greyish white sky. Fairy lights. Memories of spending Halloween at Greyfriar’s Kirkyard in Edinburgh.
Finding yet another woolly hat for my collection. This time with pheasants.
Deltavenus’ Instagram feed.
Cutting open a fresh lime.
Happily singing along to my two favourite mantras (Jai Mata Kali / Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha) while making apple galette. Trying to harmonise in different ways.
A very surprising call from Claudia. She ended up in my kitchen, drinking half a bottle of wine.
A lovely Sunday with Sash. A walk through the English garden. Watching the waterfall, falling leaves, backlit by the afternoon sunlight. Haus der Kunst. Getting in for free (art teacher bonus). I really liked the Michael Armitage exhibition and the enormous dyed curtains in the hall. Franz Erhard Walther’s Dust of Stars autobiography was impressive as well. I just ordered the book online; I’m looking forward to reading it. We also had a drink at Goldene Bar and enjoyed a late lunch at Baoz Bar.
Becky leaving me a lovely note and an English magazine on my desk.
Fink’s Knödelstube with Lena and Sash. We had 13 different kinds of dumplings. Heavenly delicious.
I came to realise that mornings are my favourite time of the day. I love gloomy, dark sunrises and my usual productivity highs.
Writing limericks with the kids.
Getting lost in the woods after dark which might not look like a good think at first glance but I uncovered a little secret - some bee hives I had never seen before!
A mild obsession with The Corrs’ song Old Town. I didn’t even know where it came from. It’s not a song I’ve ever actively listened to.
Learning about sesame plants. Another one of those plants I expected to look completely different.
I can smell mushrooms. On Saturday morning I went to the forest again early in the morning and whenever I would get a whiff of mushrooms and look down there they were.
Dog owners wishing me a good morning on my walk. Interestingly only men, the women tend to ignore me.
Wicked! - Modern Art’s Interest in the Occult. Learning about Leonora Carrington.
James’ chameleons in art class. He drew one representing each of his family members. He was the one licking a bat. Bold.
Buying far too many books. But I found out that Naomi Novik just published a new novel about a school of magic. And within two days I came across the writer Ursula K. Le Guin three times so I took it as a sign and got one of her books as well.
Prepare for the Roaring Twenties - The human desire to socialize will survive the pandemic.
A deep talk session with Jonathan about getting old, having children, self-worth, dating, obeying rules.
Finding my favourite pair of jeans on Kleiderkreisel for a fraction of the original price. And a baseball jacket with a Strange Ladies Society print on the back.
A walk in the forest before work. Something I’ve never done before I think. So good for my nerves, really.
The art of decision-making.
Joy praising me for my authoritative voice (effectively making the fifth-graders do what I want).
Decorating the classroom with the fifth-graders. I love my haunted house on the window pane, their lovely spiders, ghosts and bats. I should probably mention that our class mascot is a cute spider named Crawley so we’re all quite into spooky stuff. On the last day before the holidays we all showed up in costumes, played a Halloween quiz, listened to creepy music and I brought some candy, too. Fun!
Meeting the gang on Halloween. Japanese-inspired dinner and a board game.

DISCLAIMER: Hey everyone! A&B here! Just a quick note to say that we DID NOT write this fic! It was written by one of our lovely followers for our writing contest. So please enjoy and remember to vote!
Title: Euphoric Events Rating: Teen Genre: Fluff, Warnings: Mentions of drinking (Stay safe and never drink and drive or drink under age) Summary: You throw a halloween party with your Youtuber boyfriend that turns out much better than expected. Word count: 1033

Super Drags review (tl;dr Show Good)
The post where I do my best to spread the Good News, that there exists a saucy gay drag-queen magical-girl animated comedy and everyone should watch it.
Okay, not everyone -- I'll give some caveats at the end -- but definitely a heck of a lot more people than Netflix has bothered to advertise it to.
Look at this! Why did nobody tell me about this??
What is Super Drags?
Fast facts:
It's a 1-season, 5-episode adult animated comedy series, released in November 2018
Here's the official page, with a free-to-view trailer
It packs more explicit, unashamed queerness into those 5 episodes than any other cartoon I can think of
The only possible competitor would be if you took the whole 5000-episode run of Steven Universe and pared it down to a supercut of Just The Gay Parts
This in spite of being produced in Brazil, which (in my broad understanding, as a total non-authority on the subject) is more oppressively, dangerously homophobic than the US
The original is in Portuguese
There is an English dub, fabulously voiced by contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race
It's wrapped in "for adults only!" warnings, not because the content is any less child-friendly than (say) your Bojacks Horsemen or your Ricks and Mortys, but because Brazilian authorities tried to get it shut down on the grounds of this much gay being Harmful For Children
It was (heartbreakingly) not renewed for a second season
Here's a promo video, in which the main characters (Portuguese, with subtitles) play Drag Race judges for Shangela, who ends up voicing Scarlet in English.
And here's a beautiful flashy music video of the big musical number! (Also Portuguese, no subtitles, but the melody and the visuals stand on their own.)
Plot and worldbuilding stuff!
The elevator pitch is "What if Charlie's Angels, but also drag queens, with superpowers, because magical-girl transformations?"
In this universe, all LGBTQ people have magical energy. The Big Bad is an evil magical-drag-queen nemesis who tries to drain our energy for her own purposes. It's like if Ursula from The Little Mermaid was a first-season Sailor Moon villain.
...sidenote, in case you were worried, the representation isn't "cis gay men and nobody else." There's a butch lesbian in the recurring cast, a genderfluid person (in that specific word!) as a one-off love interest, and all the ensemble scenes are wonderful collages of different races, body types, and gender presentations.
Our heroes also fight non-magical everyday homophobes, who get written with scathing realism.
The moment I knew the show wasn't pulling any punches was in the first episode, where a newscaster complains about being Silenced by the Law of Political Correctness, then chirps "however, we have a special guest who is thankfully above the law!"
According to the reviews I've found from Brazilian viewers, it's also pitch-perfect when it comes to local queer culture, community dynamics, slang and speech patterns, even memes. All of which flies right over my head, so here's a post (with no-context spoilers) about one viewer's favorite details.
The handful of reaction posts on Tumblr have a dramatic split between "Brazilian viewers fiercely defending the show as culturally-accurate, uplifting, and brave in a terrifying political moment" and "American viewers complaining that the show is problematic because it's a comedy about drag queens with no perfect role models and lots of sex jokes."
As the Super Drags tell their nemesis (and this is also in the first episode): "How dare you try to turn the LGBTQXYZ community against each other? We do enough of that on our own!"
In between missions, our girls work sitcom retail jobs and deal with other everyday problems. All of which are written in amazingly nuanced and thoughtful ways for a show that also features "defeating an orgy monster with a lip-sync battle."
Detailed character stuff!
Our heroes are Color Coded For Your Convenience!
The Super Drags themselves go by "she" in-uniform, and a lot of the time when out of it. Like the Sailor Starlights, only more so. I'll roll with that.
In blue: Safira Cyan, or Ralph by day, an excitable college-age kid who's built like a football player and squees like a fangirl. (She's an anime fan in the original, and for some reason all the otaku references were replaced in the dub, but you can see them in the subtitles.)
Ralph lives with her younger sister (they play video games together!) and their dad, comes out to them mid-series, and is very shippable with another young guy who starts out reciting the homophobic beliefs he was raised with but whose heart clearly isn't in it.
Safira's weapon is a classic magical-girl wand that casts protective force-fields. Which are shaped like condoms. Because of course.
In yellow: Lemon Chiffon, aka Patrick, the oldest of the group and generally the smartest/most strategic. In most cases, the other two treat her as the de facto team leader -- unless she pushes it too far.
By day she's a single guy with thick thighs and thinning hair, who has some body-image insecurities on the dating scene. And this show has Things To Say about unrealistic beauty standards within the community...not to mention, about masc guys who look down on anyone too flaming or femme because straight people disapprove.
Lemon's weapon is a fluffy boa that can be used as a whip or a lasso, especially when there's a bondage joke to be made.
In red: Scarlet Carmesim, also Donizete, the loudest and most aggressive teammate with the most cutting insults, who refuses to suppress that attitude in an attempt to appease racists. (But will give it a shot when trying not to get fired.)
Donny still lives in her religious/homophobic mom's apartment, and I'm pretty sure it's because neither of them can afford to move out. Her rock-solid sense of fierce self-confidence is the reason it doesn't bring her down.
Scarlet's weapon is a fan that she uses to throw shade. Yeah, you knew that was coming.
The Charlie to these angels is Champagne, who runs operations from a cool magitech compound and breaks the fourth wall at the end to petition for viewers' support in getting a second season.
...we let her down, folks :(
So here's a thing. The show never draws a sharp line between "people who become drag queens because it's a way they're driven to express themselves as gay men" and "people who become drag queens because they were trans women all along." That's consistent with how South American LGBT+ culture works. (Again: best of my knowledge, not personally an authority on this, etc etc.)
Many of the characters, including Champagne, never describe themselves in ways that translate to one of our sharply-defined Anglo-USian identity categories. And I'm not going to try to impose any English labels on them here.
But I can say (in contrast to Safira, Lemon, and Scarlet), Champagne never switches out of her "drag" name/voice/presentation, not even in the most candid off-duty scenes, and still has the same bustline when naked in the tub. Make of that what you will.
You Should Watch This Show
If you have a Netflix subscription, watch Super Drags!
If you ever do a Netflix free trial month in the future, make a note to yourself to watch Super Drags!
It's one of their original productions, so there's no risk of missing your chance because the license expired. But it's absolutely not getting the promotion it deserves. Which means potentially interested viewers won't find it, which means Netflix will think there's no interest, which means they'll keep not promoting it...etc etc etc.
No idea if there's any chance of getting it un-canceled, but maybe we can at least convince them to release it on DVD.
And the sheer gutsiness it took for a group of Brazilian creators to produce this show in the first place -- that deserves to be rewarded with your attention.
In spite of various anti-discrimination laws that sound good on paper, the country has serious problems with homophobia, transphobia, and anti-LGBT violence (warning, article has a violent image which is only partly blurred).
Maybe the creators could've gotten a second season if they made this one softer, less sexually-explicit, more restrained...but honestly? I bet that wouldn't have helped.
Consider Danger & Eggs, an Amazon original cartoon. It was made in the US, thoroughly child-friendly, and restricts its LGBT+ representation to things like "characters go to a Pride celebration...where nobody ever names or describes the quality they're proud of."
And it didn't get renewed past the first season either.
(Note: it had a trans woman showrunner and a queer-heavy creative staff, so I blame all that restraint on executive meddling, not the creators themselves. The showrunner even liked the tweet of my review that complains about it.)
So there's something very satisfying about how Super Drags went all-out, balls-to-the-wall (sometimes literally), all the rep explicit and unapologetic, packing every 25-minute episode with all kinds of queer content that would be censored or muted elsewhere -- but here it's exaggerated and celebrated and just keeps coming.
(...as do jokes like that, and I'm not sorry.)
Okay, there are a few legitimate reasons to not watch this show
Some caveats.
None of these things are Objectively Bad Problems that the show itself should be shamed for...but maybe they're genuinely not your cup of tea.
It does have actual Adult Content beyond "the existence of gay people." This show loves to swing barely-clothed cartoon genitalia in your face. There is, as mentioned, an orgy monster. If that kind of humor is going to bother you too much to appreciate the rest of the show, give it a pass.
I wasn't kidding about how realistic the homophobes are. Opening of the first episode has a guy trying to murder a busload of people while shouting slurs at them. If that level of hatred on-screen is gonna crush your soul, even in a show about sparkly queens flying to the rescue with dick-shaped magical weapons, don't push yourself.
Any fiction with this much crossdressing and gender-transgressing is going to hit some trans viewers in a bad way. Because trans people are such a broad group, with so many different experiences, that Every Possible Trope Involved pushes somebody's buttons. (See also: "some trans readers complain about a storyline that turns out to be drawn from a trans writer's actual life experience".) If this show goes does gender things that turn out to be personally distressing for you...or even just distressing for this specific time in your life...don't feel obligated to keep watching.
It has aggressively-sassy queer characters making jokes and calling each other things that are affectionate in-context, but would not be okay coming from straight/cis people. If you can't wrap your head around that, go watch something else.
Other Than That, Go Watch This Show
For all its big heart, big ambitions, and big gay energy, Super Drags is tiny enough that I've binged the whole show 2 times in the past 2 weeks. Thankfully, it's highly re-watchable -- lots of fun background gags and subtle foreshadowing that you don't catch on the first round.
(Pausing one last time to appreciate that a show with elements like "the high-tech robot assistant is called D.I.L.D.O." can be subtle at all, let alone be this good at it.)
I've also paged through all the fanart on Tumblr and Deviantart, looked up the single fanfic on the AO3, and started brainstorming plans to request it in Yuletide next year. Someone, please, come join me in (the English-language side of) the itty-bitty fandom for this ridiculous, glittery, over-the-top, fabulous series.

Starflower
Dear friends of mine and followers that know me very well despite the fact I put out barely any content at all will probably be aware of my eternal and undying love for @damedaffodil, a webcomic by @sakura-rose12 that I simply can’t get enough of. I grew up with Sailor Moon so it sits right with me intrinsically but it’s also intelligently written while still being lighthearted and charming.
I’ve thought from time to time about Charo Flores, a shining beacon of optimism and heroism and joy, hanging out with Destiny Pride, a grumpy and snarky bystander who wants nothing to do with anything. So I wrote this crossover to satisfy me. So, without further adieu, I introduce you all to my crossover between the Ngawooin Project and Dame Daffodil!
---
She was not comfortable in a busy city. Going from what was a sleepy town (‘was’, anyway) to here in Birmingham, she was ill prepared for the utter hive of people she was to dwell amongst. She couldn't even go down an alleyway without seeing someone she’d never seen before. Walking through the main roads was like a kaleidoscope of faces she never saw twice.
It felt very weird, and a smidge unnerving; so many people walked to and fro at the shoulder, even in groups, but no one knew or acknowledged each other, or even made a stoic nod of greeting. Maybe the English were reclusive sorts by nature. But she was used to knowing everyone back home, even if only their names. Here, the patterns in the seas of people kept changing and she knew she’d never see one person again.
She decided she should relax more in the apartment before going on a walk. She only just got here today; familiarising herself with the city could wait. Fresh air could only do so much for a high school girl travelling overseas for the first time. So she was on her way back to the apartment, navigating the sea of Englishmen and women as she went.
She found herself fortunate to find a space at a corner where she could sort of isolate herself and get her bearings. As she relaxed, she saw a poster. Big and sturdy, the sort that made you think a hotshot from Hollywood was in town. Must’ve been professionally made.
The poster depicted a girl with flaring orange hair decorated with a striking yellow flower accessory that held a high ponytail in place. The yellow dress followed the flower motif with a petal skirt with orange ruffles underneath and a green bow on the back that looked like a pair of leaves. The flower girl was shooting a beam of light from her hands at some black furry animal, tearing it up like a high pressure hose. Printed at the bottom of the poster with very bold text was THANK YOU, DAME DAFFODIL!
Alright, so... What was Dame Daffodil? It sounded familiar but nothing was coming to her. Was it a play? Some movie? Maybe some local model or something? The poster didn’t have any release dates or studios or... well, anything on it anywhere. Was it...
Okay, bored now. She turned away from the poster but found a girl looking at her. This new girl was a bit shorter, had dark skin, and her short brown hair was tied at the back with a high ponytail held in with a yellow flower hairpin. Quite a contrast from her, with her short blonde hair that fell down around her head and really pale skin. Then there were the stranger’s clothes, a navy blue jumper and sky blue shirt. She’d seen a few other kids her age wearing them; probably the uniform of some high school around here. It’s a shame the clothes were unkempt and messy. Much like the hair, actually. And her eyes were unfocused and red at the edges with bags underneath them.
“Hey,” the schoolgirl greeted. Her voice was like that of a receptionist who started her job bright and eager to help everyone have a pleasant day but wore down with the passage of time, yet still determined to bring joy. “Like the poster?”
She glanced at the poster once more. “It’s a’ight.”
“I think it’s amazing.” The schoolgirl walked up to the poster and looked at it with her heavy eyes. Her smile was weak and tired but it wasn’t forced. Must’ve been a fan, if the hairpin was of any indication. “What do you think of Dame Daffodil?”
“I don’t really know who she is.”
The schoolgirl’s eyes rose as she looked at her. “Really? She’s a superhero around here. She fights monsters and helps...” A yawn interrupted her, “... people.”
“Wait, what?” The tourist blinked a few times, which would’ve helped get the sand out of her eyes if she was dreaming. “A superhero? Like, a bona fide, fair dinkum superhero? Powers and all?”
“I dunno what fair dinkum means but, no joke, she’s the real deal. She basically protects the city.”
Wait a minute, she had heard about Dame Daffodil once before...
“Hey, did you hear about in England?” Penny asked her, spinning her art stylus idly.
“Mm.” She herself was content to rest on her arms crossed on the table.
“There’s a superhero now. Some girl called Dame Daffodil.”
“Mm.”
“Fires laser beams. Also really upbeat. She’s like a TV show presenter for kids except she’s cooler than that.”
“Mm.”
“Long night?”
“Mhm.”
“Alright, I’ll leave ya.”
Probably should’ve paid more attention. “Huh. Well, I just got here. I don’t know much.”
“Oh. I was wondering if I ever saw you before. Are you a tourist?”
“Nah, on holidays with the family.”
“Well I hope you have fun here.” The schoolgirl showed her teeth as she donned a smile. Kind of forced but she was definitely trying to be nice. “I’m Charo. You?”
Oh struth, the most dreaded part of meeting new people: introductions and sharing names. “Uh...” Ugh, she hated this part. “... Destiny.”
“Huh?”
“My name,” such as it was, “is Destiny.”
Destiny could see a gear stop in Charo’s head. Well, one more than those that had already stopped. Maybe Charo could stand to get a few winks too.
“Destiny?” Charo said, either as a question to Destiny, herself, or perhaps a cruel God.
“Yeah. Destiny.” Her shoulders slumped. “Parents, huh?”
The footsteps around them were so much clearer and distinct with the new quiet.
Remarkably, though, Charo didn’t blink. She beamed. “That is so cool...!”
Okay, that was new for Destiny. The top two usual reactions for her were pity and incredulity. Sparkly-eyed excitement was a completely new experience for her. It was kind of nice but it was more kind of weird.
“Oh, sorry.” Charo proceeded to stop being awe-struck. “I gotta go. Just remembered I’m visiting a friend... See you later.” With a parting wave, Charo turned and walked away.
“Bye,” muttered Destiny as she half-heartedly waved back. “Don’t trip on the way.”
That wasn’t the worst first encounter she could’ve had in this new country. She was kind of weird but kind all the same. Too bad they ended on Charo knowing her name but at least she thought it was cool. She couldn’t imagine anyone else being like that.
Wait, where was she going again? Oh yeah, home. Anyway, it was either—
BOOM!
Destiny whipped around as an explosion burst from a ways behind her. She couldn’t feel any aftershocks but it was definitely loud. What was that? A meteor? A bomb? Those never happened back in her hometown; the only big problems were...
Wait...
Oh no. This was bad. Someone was in danger.
---
Destiny didn’t stop sprinting until she reached a lamp post on the corner of the road where all the commotion was. Only then did she collapse against and wrap her arms around it, taking deep breath after deep breath to try and ease the burning in her ribs. At least she got much farther than she did in last year’s beep test.
It took a moment but her torso stopped feeling so much like it was burning that it would keep her from moving. She lifted her head to the intersection ahead. Only a bit more to go. She put one foot in front of the other, breathing cyclically as she went to ease the burden on her lungs, until she reached the corner. She peered around it to survey the damage...
There was a black dragon.
No joke, there was a real dragon. In the middle of the street, in a deep crater that splintered into fissures that reached the sidewalks, battered cars, shattered windows, and topped streetlights, was an honest to goodness, to scale, living and breathing dragon.
Sort of. Maybe.
It definitely had the silhouette of a European dragon. Long snout and neck? Check. Four clawed legs? Check. Two massive wings? Checkity. Tail? Checking check. But it was in the details how the dragon was just kind of... wrong. Its body was covered not in scales or a leather hide but some kind of furry black moss. Its wings reminded her of flower petals. The two horns growing out of the back of its head looked like stalks and the fangs and claws resembled thorns. The tip of its tail, weirdest of all, looked like a budding flower.
A closer look would probably clear up a lot of details but Destiny was not one to get herself in harm’s way for curiosity’s sake. The same could not be said for the citizens around her, as it turned out; from the corner behind which she hid, she saw folks out in the open taking pictures of the thing with their phones. All their survival instincts taught them to do was to keep their distance a bit. Given three wishes, Destiny would wish for the bystanders to rack off, decent Internet for home, and a tray of Tim Tams.
Actually, she could just use the first wish to get the dragon to go away.
Speaking of, the big brute had yet to attack anyone. Actually, it had yet to even move from its crater. It stood right in the middle as it surveyed the crowd. She could hear a low growl coming from the thing; it was probably wary of everyone, ready to strike at the first sod that tried any funny business. So was it being defensive or...? What’s going on here?
The crowd itself got caught up in the speculation, murmuring to each other.
“Oh God, I’m actually looking at one...”
“Did it just fall from the sky?”
“My car!”
“If that damn glare would get lost...”
“I’d love one as a pet.”
“Where’s Dame Daffodil?”
That last one was said quite a few times. So Dame Daffodil was really real, as were the monsters on that poster. She should’ve gotten the hint after Penny and that girl she met—Charo, that was her name—told her about the hero but an impartial bystander saying her name gave it that impersonal quality that assured her she wasn’t nuts and talking to imaginary friends. Not that superheroes were hard to digest but you never know.
Damn it, though, she just wished everyone would go away. The dragon was only growling in a warning manner but that could change in an instant. Why was it even here? It wasn’t attacking so what’s the dea—
A warm yellow glow came in through the air and landed in the middle of the street like a heavy flower petal. It was a human—no, a superhuman. The dragon directed its now dangerous snarling at her as she stood up. She was a bit shorter than Destiny. She had a green leafy waist bow. She had a yellow dress. Her hair was messy and orange and long with a ponytail held in by a daffodil accessory. No prizes for guessing who she was.
Dame Daffodil turned around and waved at the bystanders. “Hey...!” she called, not quite putting her all into it because of fatigue but she was putting in as much as she can. “Is everyone okay?”
“DAME DAFFODIL!” cheered what sounded like the entire country condensed to a single street with all the enthusiasm of a bunch of fireworks getting married.
The local superhero wore her biggest possible grin and waved at those gathered. Many of them thrust their phones higher and forward to catch her image.
Destiny, on the other hand, stood frozen at her corner. Of course she recognised Dame Daffodil. The shocking part was how she recognised her more as Charo, who she encountered only minutes ago.
How did she not put two and two together before? She was right next to the poster. One simple comparison of their faces and boom, she could tell Charo was the very superhero she herself admired in a sort of narcissistic way. Yet it never crossed her mind. Why? Well, she supposed Dame Daffodil’s face on the poster was kind of fuzzy and hard to focus on for some reason. In the flesh, Dame Daffodil had something a bit... weird... going on with her face and Destiny recognised her just fine. Was this because of the poster? Maybe cameras only saw the fuzz like a regular would and carried that across...
Oh whatever. She could figure it out later if she was still interested.
“Everyone, please get away from here!” called Dame Daffodil after the spectators had finally settled down. “It’s dangerous! Please get to safety!”
The blaring of sirens followed right after as a couple of police cars arrived, bringing with them four men. “You heard her!” they shouted into megaphones. “Evacuate immediately for your own safety!”
Finally, the civilians left. Or some of them, anyway. Destiny would bet her toy collection that some of them were staying behind after pretending to leave.
She could probably go too, really. She ducked back and turned down an alleyway. Here’s hoping Dame Daffodil could deal with that dragon in her state...
---
The hero looked at the dragon cautiously. She regarded it not as a monster but as a dangerous but ultimately innocent animal, like an angry dog. It was a bit nerve-wracking how the dragon looked so annoyed at her but she kept it together. “Easy, easy...” she said softly. “I’m not going to hurt you...”
But the dragon was not easing up. Its nostrils flared and its brow furrowed as Dame Daffodil spoke. It growled at her and bared its thorny teeth.
“It’s okay...” Dame Daffodil continued, even if she was a bit anxious. She took another step forward...
And the dragon stood on its back legs and roared to the sky with such ferocity that the superhero had to back away while covering her ears.
“Uh oh,” she said.
The dragon threw its head down and blasted a cyclonic stream of what looked like glowing green pollen at her. It was as wide as a single line and faster than a speeding car; a regular human would have to be lucky to dodge it only partly.
Fortunately, Dame Daffodil was no regular human reliant on luck; her baggy eyes portrayed a false weakness as she used her super speed to spring onto a wall and then jump off to leap back over the street, which was now stained down the middle with an acidic green. Even the asphalt was smoking. At least she evaded it in its entirety.
The dragon began to raise its head to her airborne body, the lines of its mouth starting to glow green.
“No...!” Dame Daffodil thrust her palms out together and light coalesced in between them before she fired it as a bright beam.
The attack struck the top of the dragon’s snout with an earth-shaking boom as the pollen breath spewed out, now pointed at the dragon’s feet. Smoke burst from the laser’s impact and obscured the monster and the street from view. Pollen continued to kick up at the ground for a few more seconds, whirling at the base of the smoke.
Dame Daffodil landed on her feet in the middle of the road. She looked at the pollen breath as it continued to spill out even after the dragon was blasted on the face. “It’s tough. I’ll need to hit it more than once.”
With a roar, the dragon beat its wings and dispersed the smoke. Even if it was covered in black moss, it was easy to tell the face was burned rather savagely. Same went for its front feet that endured its breath. Yet, for all the damage, it looked even more ready for a fight. It kept its glare focused on Dame Daffodil as it growled.
Dame Daffodil groaned. “I wish things would be easy for once these days…”
The dragon roared and lunged towards her in a single bound with its front feet raised. Dame Daffodil quickly bounced to the side as the dragon’s claws slammed into the spot where she just was, shattering it like a plate.
Dame Daffodil rolled as she landed and righted herself with one hand braced against the road (bare skin against asphalt and pavement hurt, by the way, especially when a dragon just puked magic acid pollen on it) while she aimed the other at the dragon. A one-handed laser was less than half as strong as a two-handed one but it was faster to aim and fire.
But not fast enough, sadly. The dragon followed up its attack immediately with a swing of its tail, which she only caught from the corner of her eye, and she hurried to duck and roll under it. She raised her head to get her bearings again but she noticed the dragon’s other immediate follow-up in the form of it opening its glowing mouth.
“Oh come on...!” she grunted, bouncing away right before another stream of pollen could engulf her. Finally, she was out of range of its melee attacks. She quickly turned and fired another one-handed laser, which she knew the dragon was too large and slow to dodge, and scored an impact. Although the blast was smaller, there was enough smoke produced for her to use as a smokescreen while she put more distance between herself and the dragon.
But she didn’t get far before the smoke cleared and she saw, to her dismay, that the dragon blocked the blast with its wing curled around its body.
“What does it take to hurt you?!” Dame Daffodil shouted.
The dragon rotated its head ninety degrees and lunged forward with an open maw. With an upper jaw to the left and a lower jaw to the right, Dame Daffodil’s instincts drove her to backflip into the air.
One vertical rotation later, her eyes were in position to see the dragon’s mouth glow green once more.
It was going to fire.
She was stuck in the air.
She couldn’t dodge.
She desperately pushed her hands together. The light was barely forming in her palms as the stream of pollen rushed her way. It still wasn’t ready to fire as the stream got close enough for her to feel how hot it wa—
Something slammed into her side and caught her and... carried her off? One second, she was about to bathe in dragon not-fire. The next, she was being carried while the stream rushed by above and behind her. What saved her with super speed rivalling her own?
She looked up and her breath caught in her throat. A blue bodysuit, glinting with stars like a brilliant night sky. Long, sparkling silver hair. A transparent blue visor. A pink skirt glimmering like a nebula. And she could never overlook the thin steel gauntlets that held her carefully, as grey as the rest of the hero’s armour that covered her torso and feet.
The new hero smiled at her. “Never thought I’d be saving you, Dame Daffodil.”
Dame Daffodil’s energy had been in tremendous decline that day. It was a miracle she could make herself go out with how much she needed rest she wasn’t getting. And yet, seeing the hero she never thought she’d meet holding her in her arms brought her to life. “YOU’RE SAVERSTAR!” she yelled, beaming.
“Saverstar...?” murmured the voice of a civilian that didn’t have the sense to run away when he was asked.
“Isn’t she from Australia...?” asked another one.
“Four of them now?”
“Here? In England?!”
“Saverstar?!”
As Saverstar lifted her head, she saw the citizens moving out of hiding to get a closer look at the new arrival. Their astonished murmurs died as their breaths were taken away from their eyes confirming the amazing; Saverstar was here in the flesh in England.
The civilians, unsurprisingly, started shouting.
“Saverstar!”
“Oh my God!”
“She’s actually here!”
“WE LOVE YOU, SAVERSTAR!”
First things first, Saverstar placed Dame Daffodil back on the ground. With her arms free, she stood up straight and waved to the forming crowd that hollered and waved back.
“Alright, that’s ENOUGH!” she shouted as she stopped waving, and it was great that the crowd acknowledged her by being quiet. “In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a DRAGON here! We’ll take care of it! Now, as Dame Daffodil said, BUGGER OFF!”
Everyone in the crowd yelped before turning around and running.
Dame Daffodil chuckled. “I wish they’d listen to me when I said that.”
“I’ll give you tips after this,” said Saverstar as she turned to face the dragon. All things considered, it was rather patient to just sit there while she introduced herself. That said, it was a lot more agitated now than when it was just Dame Daffodil; its eyes quivered and shook as it beheld her. Was it just measuring her as a threat?
Saverstar held her left hand out in front of her. Small glimmers of light sparkled one after the other in the air, getting faster and faster, as they coalesced and came together in her hand. In a flash, the lights became one and formed into a stringless bow that looked like it was made from diamond. The dragon reared back, provoked by the bow’s appearance.
She placed her right fingers on the grip of her bow and pulled back. An arrow of light appeared with the action, shaking with energy just aching to be unleashed on her target.
The dragon’s mouth glowed green before it fired a stream of pollen at the aiming archer and Dame Daffodil. Both magical girls jumped out of the way in opposite directions. Saverstar still had her magic arrow nocked and fired it into the dragon mid-leap.
The arrow of light shot right through the dragon… and it had no effect, aside from a slight shudder. All Saverstar had to show for her efforts was a slightly peeved dragon that took the moment to roar at her.
“Look out!” cried Dame Daffodil as she fired a double-handed laser that landed directly on the side of the dragon’s head. It kicked up plenty of smoke as usual, obscuring the heroes from the dragon’s view as Dame Daffodil raced to Saverstar’s side. “Are you okay? The arrow didn’t do anything!”
A faint green glow shone through the smoke. Saverstar and Dame Daffodil immediately recognised the danger and jumped out of the way as a pollen stream shot out of the smoke. The breath expelling the pollen dispersed the smoke, making the dragon visible.
“I didn’t expect it to do anything,” said Saverstar. She grabbed the end of her bow’s limb with both hands, holding it like a club. “The arrow doesn’t do damage; all it does is exorcise possessed people. If that dragon’s not possessed, the arrow won’t do anything.”
Not that she cared. The enemies of Dame Daffodil weren’t like hers back in Ngawooin; back home, the monsters were possessed townspeople wracked with grief and needed counselling on top of a beatdown. But here? They were just monsters. All she needed to do was crush them.
Dame Daffodil looked at Saverstar with concern. “Then what do you do?”
The dragon pounced towards the two heroes. Both of them stepped back before the dragon landed right where they used to be, breaking the ground with the force. Dame Daffodil’s footing shook but Saverstar still stood.
“I’ve got more than one string to my bow!” shouted Saverstar, bludgeoning the side of the dragon’s head with her weapon, eliciting a pained cry from the creature. The dragon swiped at her with a claw only for Saverstar to evade it by flashing away down the road with her super speed. Dame Daffodil joined her at the same time.
With a bit of distance between them and the dragon, they took a moment to catch their breath.
The dragon regained its bearings as well. It glared at them, snarling, and then it spread its wings wide and roared at them more viciously than ever before.
Dame Daffodil and Saverstar sped towards the dragon head-on. When they got right in front of it, they split off to either side. The two heroes jumped from road to wall, from building to building, and back to the dragon, attacking with laser after club after laser after club, alternating between the two and speeding away.
Try as it might, the dragon couldn’t keep up with them both. It lunged at Saverstar with tooth and claw, only to miss and be distracted from Dame Daffodil’s two-handed lasers taking the moment to strike it. It blocked Dame Daffodil’s lasers with its wings and whipped at her with its tail, only to be completely exposed when Saverstar ran right into it with kicks, punches, or bow clubbings.
Saverstar appeared in front of the dragon, leaping forward and kicking down at the dragon’s snout. She leapt over the dragon’s back… and the dragon promptly clapped the back of its wings against Saverstar. She raised her hands to push against the wings but that only trapped her right behind the dragon, which lifted its tail and whipped her, knocking her down to the road in front of the dragon.
The dragon’s mouth began to glow green.
Dame Daffodil appeared in a flash in front of Saverstar, pushing her palms together and building up energy between them.
The dragon unleashed a stream of pollen at the exact same time Dame Daffodil fired her two-handed laser. The laser split the stream, the pollen rushing harmlessly beyond Dame Daffodil and Saverstar on both sides, and shot right into the dragon’s maw with an explosion.
The smoke cloud was enormous. Dame Daffodil and Saverstar nervously stepped back in defensive stances, wary of a surprise attack.
But the smoke wasn’t dispersed by the dragon’s actions; it dissipated on its own, revealing the dragon slumped on the road, its face viciously burned and damaged and lying in a puddle of its own acidic pollen.
There was no mistaking it. It was down and out.
“WooHOO!” cheered Dame Daffodil, pumping her fist in the air. “We did it! We finally beat…”
Her enthusiasm drained rapidly from fatigue and her legs gave out.
“Oi, careful!” Saverstar caught her as she fell. “Gotta get home before you sleep.”
Dame Daffodil chuckled with what little energy she had. Her baggy eyes looked at Saverstar with appreciation and tired triumph. “Right, right… But I need to take care of the dragon once and for all, first. Just one more attack should do it.”
“Alright, just take it easy.” Saverstar helped her to her feet and walked with her to the lying dragon.
Dame Daffodil broke away from Saverstar and stood in front of their fallen foe. It didn’t twitch in the slightest; it wasn’t getting back up with a surprise attack.
She pressed her hands together to gather energy. She took more time to gather more energy for a laser larger than those before, something that would annihilate the animal.
She fired her final laser. It created a dust cloud big enough to engulf the entire street and both Saverstar and Dame Daffodil. It lingered for a long half minute before it dispersed.
The dragon was completely gone. From the scorched black road where its body once lied, a dark flower with six wrinkled petals and a light centre bloomed. It was hauntingly beautiful but uncomfortable to look at.
“Finally,” grunted Dame Daffodil rubbing the back of her head.
With a shake of her hand, Saverstar vanished her bow in a flash of light.
“YEAH! GO DAME DAFFODIL!” cheered a bystander from the side of the road.
More citizens gathered and cheered with congratulations for Dame Daffodil and quite a few for Saverstar as well. The crowd was electric with enthusiasm, probably due to the new hero on the scene all the way from Australia.
As exhausted as she was, Dame Daffodil smiled and waved at the crowd. “Thanks guys but I really gotta go…”
“Excuse me…! Pardon…!” muttered a man with a microphone as he pushed his way through the crowd, followed by a man carrying a camera. A field news team, no doubt.
Saverstar frowned. Dame Daffodil needed rest more than she needed an interview (and Saverstar just plain wasn’t in the mood). She ran to Dame Daffodil’s side. “Don’t suppose you want to hop it out of here?”
“Don’t you know it…!” Dame Daffodil nodded.
“Alright then.” With a roll of her neck, Saverstar picked up Dame Daffodil like she was a bride. “Buckle up.”
“What—Wait!”
But Saverstar didn’t wait for the surprised Dame Daffodil; in a flash of blue, she took off running across the city, far away from the happy fans and reporters.
---
The two of them stopped in one of the many alleyways of Birmingham. No prying eyes or curious sorts to follow them in here. They’d be safe to take a breather, even if just for a moment.
The exhausted Dame Daffodil slumped against the wall and slid down to the ground. Not the most hygienic place for that but it worked. “Whew… Jeez, I was lucky you came around today. Best luck I’ve had these last two months.”
“Looked like it,” said Saverstar. “You really look out of it.”
Dame Daffodil nodded. “It’s been rough. Monsters have been appearing more often than ever before and I’m having a hard time keeping up.”
“Well it’s good that I’m here then. I’m happy to help.” Saverstar took a moment to think and recollect. “… You’re Charo, right?”
Dame Daffodil froze. She looked at Saverstar with wide, fearful eyes. “Uh, what makes you think—”
Yeah, that was coming on a bit strong. Saverstar took that moment to detransform. Her brilliant and shining form dimmed as her hair went from long and silver to short and blonde. Her visor, bodysuit, armour, skirt, gauntlets, and greaves all vanished, leaving her in just her civilian getup.
She smiled at Dame Daffodil. “My full name’s Destiny Pride. So now we both have a secret to share.”

Animazement 2017 Haul
Another year of Animazement has come and gone, but my spending habits at conventions certainly have not....
ALAS...TIME TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL THE GOODIES I GOT. Post is image heavy, so read more under the cut!
So before I go into detail with each item, I’m gonna just lay out everything that I purchased. Going from left to right I got a pink llama plushie, a chibi Yukito and Tomoyo figure, semi-chibi Sakura figure in her iconic pink dress, a Sailor Chibi Moon figure, what I like to call ‘derpy Syaoran’ plushie, Touya tsum tsum plushie, a Sakura figure in her school uniform and roller blades, a Sakura figure in her battle outfit against the WATERY card, a Sakura and Tomoyo figure that rests on the edge of a glass and the Kero coasters that come with them, what I call a ‘semi-derpy battle pose’ Syaoran figure, sparkly pink wing earrings, buttons from artist alley with CCS and Pokemon on them, a fanart print of Lance from Voltron, a hairband from the most recent CCS Ichiban Kuji wtih Sakura and Syaoran on it, a PRINCESS SYAORAN RUBBER STRAP, a star wand keychain with Syaoran picture inside, an Alice Sakura rubber strap, a large fanart print of Sakura in her yellow clothes from the second opening, a cherry blossom decal, a Tsubasa throw blanket, and lastly, a Tsubasa notebook! Oh, and lots of Japanese snacks, but I’ll just leave that out...
*GASPS FOR BREATH* TRY SAYING THAT OUT LOUD. IT’S SO MUCH WHEN YOU PUT IT ALL TOGETHER.
This is something that, if you’ve ever been to a convention, you’ve probably seen EVERYWHERE. Well, for years, I’ve been saying how I was going to buy one, and I finally gave in. I have no regrets. IT’S SO CUTE.
DERPY SYAO PLUSHIE. My friend’s boyfriend called him “Little Green Dude”, and I thought that was acceptable as well. He’s so smol and angry! *cuddles him*
Speaking of smol and angry, OMG PRINCESS SYAO!!! *CRIES UGLY HAPPY TEARS*
I was happy to get Yukito especially here, because I had Touya already, so now THEY CAN BE TOGETHER. Tomoyo also looks fabulous and will be a wonderful addition to my crazy ass figure collection. And who doesn’t want more Sakura figures *heavy breathing*
OH LOOK. MORE SAKURA FIGURES.
OH BOY, I SURE DO LOVE ME SOME SAKURA FIGURES YOU GUYS
And don’t think I didn’t see you there, you cute little kitty! She and Tomoyo don’t sit as well on the cups as I hoped they would, but I’ll find another thing for them to rest on!
SEMI-DERPY BATTLE POSE SYAORAN FIGURE! I have semi derpy school uniform Syaoran already, so now I have the matching pair! Oh hey there, Tomoyo! Just chillin’ there I see...
And from above, watches over them is Touya in tsum tsum form. He’s so squishy and cute, and...still somehow attractive?
Next, we get to adorable Chibi Moon! In the name of the moon, she will punish your wallet! But not too badly with this figure. Hehe.
Down here, you can see the star key keychain with Syaoran’s image inside. It is strangely nostalgic to me, as it reminds me of my middle school days when I carried a locket with Syaoran’s image in it. AND CAN WE TAKE ANOTHER MOMENT TO ADMIRE PRINCESS SYAO. LIKE SERIOUSLY. I just about screamed when I found him.
These earrings were just SUPER Sakura to me, so I had to buy them.
THIS BEAUTIFUL MAN. THIS BEAUTIFUL ART. IT WAS A MUST.
I’m going to find a good place to hang this pretty piece!
Okay...so when I found this blanket, I literally screamed and shouted “I CAN WRAP MYSELF IN SYAORAN??!!!”
This notebook is so pretty you guys! I was going to buy a notebook with Seraph of the End on it, and I was like ‘NOPE. TSUBASA IS RIGHT HERE’
My new cherry blossom decal goes so nicely on my laptop! Now I can have something that reminds me of my two favorite animes in an elegant, subtle way!
BUTTONS. I NEED ALL THE BUTTONS.
WELL THAT’S IT YOU GUYS. If you stuck it out and looked through this whole post, THANK YOU. My wallet is hurting, but the only regret I have is that I can’t buy stuff for everyone else too! So even though I can’t share my wealth (if you call it wealth...I’m just irresponsible and don’t know how to save), I can share my happiness with you in the things I love! Moreso than anything I purchased, the thing that made the most happy was being with my friends and making new ones! HERE’S TO ANOTHER GREAT YEAR OF FUN! I can’t wait for next year!

Rules
1. Always post these rules.
2. Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you.
3. Write 11 questions of your own.
4. Tag 11 people.
***
1. What’s your favorite childhood movie?
Beauty and the Beast, hands down. I will always love it.
2. What do you keep inside your travel bag/purse?
Usually my phone, my wallet, and/or my 3ds. If I have room in my pockets I just stuff those things in there instead. I usually wear my keys around my neck, so I don’t even have to worry about those so much.
3. What was the name of your first pet and what were they?
Carmelito. He was a little white hamster with a bit of a caramel color in his fur (hence the name lol).
4. What does your favorite article of clothing look like?
That’s a tough one. I like a lot of my shirts, mainly the ones that flatter my weird physique. But honestly? The shirt I like a little bit more than the others is one that looks like I’m wearing a white, sparkly poncho. Yes, I do like sparkles on my clothing sometimes. Oh well!
5. What’s the oldest toy you still own?
I have two, actually. Both of them were around when I was still really little. One is a stuffed Nala plushie I stole from my old church, and the other is a Woody doll that survived a fire. He’s very uncomfortable to sleep with, would not recommend. I don’t think he can talk anymore either.
6. What’s your all-time favorite video game?
Sonic Unleashed. I still think the Werehog is cute.
7. What’s your dream job?
Probably making video games. I really want to animate and make music, as well as write a good story for one. I just don’t know if I’d be good enough. ^-^;
8. What was the first tv show you ever got really into?
Hmm…I’d say Sailor Moon? I watched it a lot as a kid, and I rewatched it with my sis recently. We stopped around the Sailor Moon Super episodes.
9. How many pillows do you sleep with at night?
Two!
10. What’s your favorite scent?
Chocolate. I can’t eat it anymore though. ;_;
11. Do you have any pictures or posters hanging up in your room, and what are they of?
I have a few drawings that my sister made up on my wall. She either didn’t want them anymore or gave them to me as gifts. There’s a cute little mouse, Derpy Hooves, Yzma, Sylveon, Wartortle, Discord, a bunch of Studio Ghibli characters, and Papyrus. Papyrus was DEFINITELY a gift because she knew I liked him. I also have a giant portrait of Winnie the Pooh made of puzzle pieces and a painting my dad gave me as a birthday present, but I haven’t put those up yet.
Thanks for tagging me, Skull! Sorry for the late reply! ^-^
My Questions:
1. What do you like doing as a hobby?
2. If you could bring any fictional character to life, who would it be?
3. What superpower do you wish you could have?
4. What was your latest dream about?
5. Is there something you wish you were better at?
6. What’s the most romantic thing someone could do or has done for you?
7. What’s your favorite food?
8. Your favorite color?
9. What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
10. If you were ever given the chance to help someone less fortunate than you, would you do it?
11. What is your strongest skill/talent?

Rules
1. Always post these rules 2. Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you 3. Write 11 questions of your own 4. Tag 11 people
1. What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten?
Chocolate-covered scorpion. It tasted like dirt.
2. How often do you dream? And have you ever had a lucid dream?
I’m sure I dream every night, but I don’t often remember them. I’ll remember one a month if I’m lucky. I can kinda lucid dream to an extent I think, if it’s a cool scenario and I wake up and then force myself back to sleep to finish it.
3. If you could have any one item from a video game you’ve played recently, what would it be?
D.VA’s mech? Just because that’d be fuckin’ sweet.
4. Best toppings for pizza?
Veggies! Mushrooms specifically.
5. If you had to travel cross-country, would you rather land travel (car or a train) or fly?
Fly, although I do wanna take a car trip cross-country someday.
6. Are you superstitious? If so, what are some superstitions you believe?
Kinda. I ‘knock on wood’ a lot, but things like ladders and black cats I don’t believe in.
7. What’s the worst injury you’ve ever gotten?
I’ve actually never seriously injured myself. (Knock on wood.) But the worst I’ve probably done is either burn myself (I still have plenty of scars) or have to split up a pretty intense dog fight. I was covered in bruises and felt really horrible for weeks afterwards.
8. Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream: White or green?
Green! Don’t ask me why.
9. Do you watch more TV or more stuff that’s online?
Online. I actually don’t own a TV.
10. What is your personal motto?
It doesn’t always work out, and that’s okay.
11. What is the appropriate response to hearing a bad pun?
Either “you son of a bitch” or “*lip smack” noice.”
My Questions:
1. What’s your favorite childhood movie?
2. What do you keep inside your travel bag/purse?
3. What’s the name of your first pet and what were they?
4. What does your favorite article of clothing look like?
5. What’s the oldest toy you still own?
6. What’s your all-time favorite videogame?
7. What’s your dream job?
8. What was the first TV show you ever got really into?
9. How many pillows do you sleep with at night?
10. What’s your favorite scent?
11. Do you have any pictures or posters hanging up in your room, and what are they of?
I’ll actually tag some people this time, some followers I see crop up often whom I appreciate. :)
