would be funny, if Nina had a gf, and due to Johan's tendency to see him and nina as the same, he'd drop by casually, disguised or not, while nina is away. What's wrong? Nina is him and he's Nina! There's no complications with kissing him! You're basically kissing his sister! (Eaten ask)
your brain anon...........like EXACTLY. exactly. God this is sooo hot and weird which is johan's brand. He is karl marxing the fuck out of his sister's girlfriend. What do you mean "meet my girlfriend"? You mean meet OUR girlfriend. right?
(tw: nonconsensual kissing, yandere)
Could you imagine bidding your girlfriend, Nina, goodbye after she spent the whole evening at your place? You whine and beg her to stay longer, clinging onto her, but she rolls her eyes playfully and insists she has to go.
She gives you a loving parting kiss on your lips, then plants even more– on your nose, cheeks, and finally your forehead– before she reluctantly pulls away. Any more, she jests, and she won’t be able to leave.
"You know I hate leaving you like this," she laughs softly. "But don't worry, I'll make up for today once my exams are over. Okay?"
She gives you one last final kiss before finally leaving, waving at you as she walks down the street.
You sigh and close the door, already missing her.
You really love Nina, but sometimes it feels like she doesn’t have much time for you. You understand she has her exams, a part-time job, and aikido training, which doesn’t really leave much left for you. Still, you can’t help but feel a bit greedy, wishing she’d at least dedicate a part of her to you. You're her girlfriend, after all.
You sigh one last time. No use.
She’s already spread too thin, and you know if you tell her your concern, she’ll worry and try to double her efforts to make time for you. No way in hell are you going to give her any more stress in her life. Although today was just half a day together, you're grateful. Even if it left you unbelievably craving, aching for more…
You hear a soft knock on your door. Is it Nina? Did she forget something? Oh, your prayers have been answered. You just wanted one more second with her. You open the door immediately, an excited smile on your face.
"What did you forget this ti-"
"Missing me already?"
You freeze, standing dumbfounded. In front of you is not, in fact, your girlfriend, but a tall, blonde man smiling softly at you.
"I'm… I'm sorry. I don't— Do I know you?" you ask, trying to stay cool. He must have the wrong house to ask something like that so proudly. You’ve never met him before.
His smile doesn’t falter at your question. He continues looking at you, his eye contact unwavering.
"You do." he answers, calmly leaving no explanation, still smiling softly.
You’re getting nervous. He keeps staring and smiling at you. You try to get a good look at him. Is he a mutual friend? An old classmate? A person you pissed off once? You’re at a blank. Though… the more you look at him, the more you notice how similar he looks to… to your… what the hell.
Why does he... look... a bit like Nina?
No. You chalk it off. He just has blonde hair and blue eyes, and the fact you’re missing your girlfriend terribly doesn’t help. But even then, their facial features strike a matching resemblance. It’s a bit uncanny.
You let out a nervous laugh and smile sheepishly at him. "Look, I’m really racking my brain here. Have we met before? I’m really sorry if I can’t recall…"
You give him his cue to introduce himself, to remind you who he is, to be offended at you forgetting—anything! He’s just standing there, staring down with that same smile. Your eyes dart around, seeing if this is a prank. A small uneasy pit forms in your stomach.
A beat passes by. You still wait for his reply.
You can't help but start feeling creeped out. Stupid. Always ask who’s there before opening the door. Just ask him what he wants with you and get it out of the way.
"Hey uh, I-"
He kisses you, his lips softly crashing against yours, hands gently cradling the back of your neck. He’s not forceful, but his hold is steady. You squirm and try to break free, but he quickly shushes you and holds you closer, entrapping your lips in another long kiss.
You think of quickly think of biting him, but he gently pulls away right before you can go through with the thought. His hands come up to tenderly cup your face, his thumb softly brushing against your cheek as he looks at you.
Your vision begins to blur from your tears, your legs wobbling from the fear of the situation.
"I don't know you!" you practically scream out. Your desperation kicks in as you continue to panic. "P-Please. please. please. I'm sorry. I don't know you. I don't… I don't… please… I-."
You cry softly, pleading with him. He just continues cradling your face in his hands, looking at you with that godawful eerie smile. He leans back in, slowly murmuring,
"Shh…"
He continues peppering kisses all over your wet cheeks. "You do know me," he whispers, kissing your nose. "And you know I need to make it up to you," he says, kissing your forehead. He hums softly and leaves another final chaste kiss on your lips.
"And you know I hate leaving you like this."

I'm thinking of @krotiation post about how Rhys is strong sm and I'm just wondering of Anu and him
Anu presents herself as genius - after all, she made the device to mimic power of sirens which is just very awesome but... We don't see her genius at all in the game. All we see is that she's dependant on her goggles to analyse for her.
The way the comments are built in the game suggest that Rhys had some doing to them. They are snarky, they get some Atlas marketing in there too and while Echo devices had always existed with some remarks, they have their own character well before Ocvatio puts additional programming in.
Best way to show how dependant she's on them is Episode 4. When she reaches her designed spot where she's made to believe to be seen as genius, she problems solves through... The goggles. She doesn't solve the issues by herself at ALL - everything has to be said to her.
Through Tales, we watch Rhys use the Echo device a lot. But there are many moments, in combat or through hacking in Ep 3 that show its only an enhancer of his abilities, not main source of them. It is of course unfair a bit to say - as he also has the arm that he uses a few times, since it's stronger than his body but, I feel his loss of the devices is very significant. Because at the end of the day - he wanted a manager position from the start. He was sometimes an asshole, a coward, but in the end, he did exactly what he wanted. Through his own hard work, he got to the top.
They both used their echo devices to analyse. Anu however, used it to think for her. Rhys used it to help him think.

as much as i get Why i've seen people say battler's gameboards feel like ooc fanfiction versions of the family - and to an extent they probably are - i kind of am also like. i think we need to remember that most of what we see of the family is as pieces written by an author who is also a character in umineko with their own experiences and motivations, and their characters are largely established in the two episodes written by someone who was willing to literally blow all of them up
acting like there's no way kinzo would ever cutely fawn over his grandkids is so. like okay i Get that it is a bit of whiplash when you've just finished episode 7 and learned everything you've learned there, but like, if you can accept eva and hideyoshi flirting or krauss and natsuhi cuddling together or rudolf kissing the receiver when talking to kyrie on the phone or rosa making them late just to buy maria a treat, then you grasp that shitty people are capable of genuine love, often even towards the exact same people they mistreat
we barely even see kinzo alive in umineko and much of his character throughout the gameboards is pretty explicitly other people's impressions, projections, and fantasies of what he might be like, almost exclusively by characters who were direct victims of his abuse or knew about kuwadorian beatrice
and it's not that they're wrong at all to remember kinzo that way, it's just that like. what part of that is mutually exclusive with kinzo being emotional and over-excited to see his grandkids? the idea that he despises his family so much he has no interest in seeing them is explicitly a fabrication, and not even one the siblings are really able to buy - they just play nice while they figure out how to prove their suspicions about it
i think i'm just like. umineko spends a large amount of its runtime trying very hard to explain to you that both things can be - and often are - equally true about a person. and that love is not at all mutually exclusive with cruelty or abuse
battler's gameboards may at times stretch the limits of the rule that pieces must act in-character, but like, the point is that the capacity for this, too, existed in everyone, under the right circumstances.
and i think mechanically it's trying to make you understand the gameboards' capacity to pick one facet of a character and push it to the extreme - perhaps to make you interrogate whether something similarly biased may have been happening this whole time, gone unnoticed because the previous narrators all told it that way so consistently. ep8's gameboard wants you to ask yourself: what makes you trust one unreliable narrator more than another? if this is so fake, what does that say about other gameboards built under the same constraints as this one?

Kim Skill's Drabble for the Anon who prompted me with writing the skills in an everyday situation.
(very heavy on the skills but I guess that was the point of these lol
(Spoilers for A Cracked Foundation obviously)
Kim pushed his glasses up for what felt like the hundredth time since he entered the store. While it was hot outside as well, there was a slight breeze there, which couldn’t be said about the crowded spaces between the rows of tall, stuffed cabinets.
SURVIVOR - A fire hazard.
Between the humid heat and the constant noise around him, Kim couldn’t wait to leave.
He maneuvered himself into a corner to check his grocery list and was satisfied to see every item in his basket. The cloying smell of artificial fruit aromas made him look to his side where he found a row of big glass jars containing various sweets. The condensation had rendered them slightly foggy.
VICE - Oh fuck yeah!!
Kim couldn’t help but sigh.
It’s not on the list, so I’m not getting it, he shot back and dropped his notebook in the basket for emphasis.
VICE - Then put it on the fucking list? Who cares! They have honey gummies, Kim!!
PROCESSOR - Even just a handful of these confections contain about a fourth of the recommended daily intake of sugar. The ratio between nutrients and price is unsatisfactory.
CONNECTION - Sometimes food can be about memories instead of sustenance.
CONTROL - I’m not a child. Besides, what’s the point of implementing a rule if you are going to break it for something so trivial.
Kim bit the inside of his cheek and wondered if this was something he could ever get used to - mundane everyday tasks turning into discussions inside his head that would divert his attention. Of course, this happened here and there when he was on duty as well, but not nearly as frequently as on his days off.
GEARHEAD - Naturally. After all, work requires you to focus.
CONNECTION - Every part of you.
VICE - Oh my god now you’re just thinking about work?! Fucking- Dolores Dei’s Dick, I wish I was able to scream.
Kim blinked.
CONTROL - What was that?
VICE - You heard me.
CONNECTION - You shouldn’t say that…
VICE - Yeah and you should maybe back me up a bit?!
CONNECTION - But I did-
CONTROL - Unimportant. You’re not saying that again.
RHETORIC - Why? It’s a nice alliteration.
I would really appreciate it, if I could concentrate on finishing up here instead of whatever this is supposed to be. I’m not going to have this slip me while interacting with the cashier.
VICE - You mean “Dolores Dei’s Dick”?
CONTROL - This is not happening.
RHETORIC - I don’t understand the problem. She could have had one.
PROCESSOR - The nature of Dolores Dei’s genitals has not been recorded.
CONNECTION - Can you stop? This is very disrespectful.
VICE - I’ll stop if Kim gets the gummies.
SURVIVOR - People are starting to give you glances. You are being perceived.
GEARHEAD - Presumably because you’ve been intensely staring into your basket for about three minutes.
RHETORIC - No, let’s talk about it. Why would it be disrespectful? Are you trans-phobic?
CONNECTION - Wha- of course not?!
CONTROL - And again I’m arguing with my own brain. Unbelievable.
Maybe I should just leave my basket, leave the store and walk into the Pale, Kim thought as he frowned at a box of flour. Except that in his (and every other human being's) experience, that might make things worse.
PROCESSOR - You could walk into the ocean instead.
VICE - Dolores Dei’s Dick Dolores Dei’s Dick Dolores-
CONTROL - ENOUGH.
A sharp pain shot through Kim’s forehead, so sudden that he almost swung his basket into the glass containers next to him.
CORPUS - Psychosomatic. Unfair.
“Everything alright?”
Kim almost jumped. For a man of his size and the penchant to dress like a peacock, Harry could be surprisingly quiet. Maybe it was the hustle and bustle of the crowd around them that had hidden his approach.
SURVIVOR - Apologies.
Kim answered with a wave of his hand, making the wicker basket at his elbow creak.
“Just a headache.”
Harry knitted his fingers into the handles of his tote bag thoughtfully and cocked his head to the side, eyes fixed on Kim’s. The lieutenant raised one of his eyebrows in response.
“Don’t. We talked about this.”
“Huh? Oh- I..I wasn’t going to, I was just..uhm.”
“Hm. Maybe we should pay and leave, that should give you time to come up with an excuse.”
His glance wandered towards Harry’s tote before he could stop himself. Harry’s expression switched from sheepish to defensive.
“No booze,” Harry said quickly and opened the bag for Kim to see.
VICE - OH HEY!
“I didn’t know you liked those.” Kim pointed at the honey gummies.Harry shrugged. “I don’t think I’ve had them before, I just kinda thought you might like them.”
