#she actually doesn’t have a name yet#I’m considering Mae but. who knows#kris’s art#there’s a whole lot to her but like.#basically#in her kingdom the Oracle (someone who recieves and interprets prophecies from the gods) is a big deal.#there is only one Oracle alive at any time#once one dies the power is passed on#usually to a young child#and that child’s family then rises to wealth and power and are treated as royalty#while the chosen Oracle is then confined to a palace. always protected. delivering prophecies to the people. to aid the people#they live a life only to serve others because of a power they never asked for#so she’s not having a good time. but she knows she must fulfill her duty until she dies#Oracles are often assassinated which is why she’s pretty much always being watched and guarded#she’s happy to aid her people but she also wishes for more freedom.#there’s also this whole thing where she received a prophecy that told her that her childhood best friend was destined to die in 3 years.#and there was nothing she could do about it because she knows. she knows better than most that prophecies of death are absolute. haha#wow that went on for a while okay good night

CBS Ghosts is my new guilty pleasure so take my new OCs. The Blanchet family were distant French cousins of the Woodstones who visited the house in the early 1900s, only for a violent house robbery to take the life of their youngest daughter, Mercedes, and her loyal self appointed guard dog, Horse. Only 8 years old, it takes some time for Mercedes to understand her fate, and for some time she’d be very distressed that her family seem to be ignoring her. On the bright side, the other ghosts are there to try and make things easier, though the misfit collective have a hard time caring for a child given their circumstances, and conflicting ideas on how best to raise a little girl.
Of all the ghosts, she is closest with Thorfinn. He has a soft spot for the little girl.
#‘why does her dog have an English name’ because he didn’t have one at first he was just dog. and then they died#and thorfinn who had watched this dog take a bullet in attempt to save his owner#took one look at this thing and went “’AHA! something I’ve been thinking abt is how many people think Makoto is immune to despair. I don’t think he is. I think becoming the ultimate Hope was BECAUSE he felt despair. He wouldn’t have fully reached that point without Junko. Makoto becoming such a beacon was his last attempt to avoid completely falling and it wasn’t because he didn’t feel despair, it was because he was too damn stubborn to allow everything to go to waste and he refused to sacrifice his beliefs for someone else’s. His inner monologue tells me he DID experience the same new low the other suvivors did in the final trial, but at the point where he had the choice to give up and die, he looked at the others and he looked at Junko and he couldn’t allow it to happen, not out of self preservation, but because the idea that Junko would have control over their lives made him FURIOUS. and that utter refusal to die kicked in, wether luck or otherwise, and he made the concious effort for one last push while something in him was breaking. He had to be broken in order for the Ultimate Hope to come through so aggressively, bc it could only exist in the face of the Ultimate Despair. He snapped the same way she did, but in the other direction. In what could have been his final moments he chose to embody everything Junko wasn’t, and every single optimistic and luck fueled ideal in him suddenly charged forward and pushed him. It was a combination of the final straw and a choice. Makoto isn’t immune to feeling despair, he’s just too stubborn to fall into it of his own volition. I think that’s why I like that scene in DR3 so much. People were SO SHOCKED Makoto actually fell for the tape, that he actually became despair for a moment. I saw people getting mad or disappointed, saying it was pathetic and Makoto seemed to fall from some sort of pedestal for them. Honestly part of me wonders if that sort of mentality, which clearly people had in universe, affected Makoto a bit. Like he started to see himself as less of a person, subconsciously. Prompting him to take more risks, less self preservation, act way more bold. It seems he has to be reminded a lot not to put himself in danger by his friends, to not do something too reckless. All over the place I would see in regards to that scene either this frivolous ‘oh this was just angst drama with no meaning behind it’ or ‘he can do better than that. he’s so weak’ or ‘come on, there’s no way he’d fall into despair, he’s the Ultimate Hope!’ This kind of mentality, which was kind of ironic considering Ryota was there the entire time saying the same thing and treating Makoto the same way. Like Makoto was superhuman. Like Makoto didn’t feel despair the same way ‘normal people’ did. In a way that was also how Munakata saw Makoto. Makoto stopped being a PERSON to the world when he became Ultimate Hope, he became a concept, a belief system, much the same way Junko ascended beyond herself. But the difference is that treating Makoto that way is the opposite of the reason Makoto became such a representative for hope. He wasn’t doing something no one else could. He was doing something everyone had the chance to, he just… was a little more optimistic, a little more stubborn, a little more ‘gung-ho’ about things. He just took the lead where no one else did, where no one else knew they even COULD in the face of Junko’s unstoppable force. She had overcome the biggest threats and obstacles in the world, what could one person do? And the answer Makoto found was, anything. Everything. It doesn’t all rest on Makoto, he’s just the one that was inspired to try to do what seemed like the impossible. But as evidenced by the change in his friends after that trial, it’s clearly not something only Makoto is capable of. The others pulled out of despair thanks to Makoto, but it was their choice to do so.
“But… this world is so huge, and we’re so small. What can we do…? No, we can probably do anything. Yeah! We can do anything!”
#makoto naegi#Danganronpa character analysis#Danganronpa#danganronpa thh#danganronpa future arc#I fucking love Makoto Naegi man.#I think there’s a fine line of nuance to Makoto that’s easy to miss bc he doesn’t really make it known#he’s not a pushover and he’s not overpowered. he’s a people pleaser but he will say what needs to be said#he’s an immovable object and the exact opposite of Junko but he’s also just a normal guy who’s optimistic and (un)lucky#he isn’t invincible but he has immense power to his words the same way Junko did#if anything his superpower is being kind above all else. he’s compassionate to some of the worst people in the world.#he was even conpassionatr to an extent to Junko. he didnt want her to kill herself despite everything she’s done#and he still acknowledges that for years she was a classmate and friend.#I do think the more he learned abt what she did the more he’s come to actually hate her though#post the first game he always refers to her without a suffix to her name which is one of the most subtle rude things you can do#it means you have zero respect for the person you’re referring to#and he speaks about her with some venom he doesn’t use for anyone else in the future arc#he’s not incapable of feeling negative emotions#I really liked the future arc scene bc it showed that Makoto DID experience enough despair to have overcome him if he didn’t refuse#and that it still affects him deeply. people treat him like he’s either this perfect ideal Chad or this baby chick who’s so delicate#and no one really focuses on how makoto shoulders so much and yet is still vulnerable.#honestly that guy was DUE for a mental breakdown even without the tape. it would have happened eventually#I actually wrote one based on him finally hitting a breaking point after giving so much of himself away and keeping nothing for himself#that his issues that he shoves down constantly finally can’t be held down anymore. Hajime helps him bc he knows how that feels#it was a LONG time ago that I wrote that but honestly if I can remember where i was going w it I might finish it#it was initially an rp but I could make it a fic#anyway. the point is Makoto is SO much more complex than people give him credit for#the most fundamental thing about him is that he’s normal and that’s ok! that’s what helps him rise!

idek why but this is Peak Romance(TM)
#the ending of Emma! is so warm and so funny#and so good#every emotional beat is so true#I also love the part where Emma learns that Harriet is engaged and she’s so overflowing with happiness#because one of her two obstacles to happiness has been removed#(And she’s working on the other obstacle her dad)#and it says she has to move around and talk to herself and laugh before she can be around anyone again#and I just—-aksjsjjsjdjdjdjd#I love it SO much. I have experienced that before!!!#just times where the overflow of happiness makes you so giddy and almost foolish you have to be alone#ALSO. I’ve been reflecting because years ago I read a piece of literary criticism that said that Emma never learns or changes#she’s Sad and forced to face the consequences of her Actions for like one afternoon#and then everything she wants to happen happens#and she gets to sort of just dance away with a sparkle in her eye#and the criticism was like ‘good for her but this is not a journey of change or growth’#and I’ve always been haunted by it because there is something true about it? Emma is still Emma is still Emma#and also because when I teach it I sort of have to be like ‘Emma has changed! and feels bad about stuff!’ because that’s just kind of#how you have to do it with teenagers/and/or it’s what THEY say#and I can’t contradict them but it doesn’t feel exactly true either#and I don’t know. it’s sort of hitting me this time around that there is just a deepening of Emma’s sweetness#in the second half of the novel and that’s why it always feels so warm#like. with Lizzy the change is so big you can absolutely feel it! it’s undeniable and it rocks her entire (internal) world#Darcy’s letter forces a change in her worldview. in her views of her family and her sisters and Wickham and Jane and just everything#but the box hill scene isn’t that with Emma —but it does pierce through …. something#some kind of flippancy maybe? coldness? she IS more likable in the second half of the book#and yet she is no different. idk I’m struggling to name it exactly#maybe it is a kind of growing up. it never feels quite as simple or as obvious as ‘now she has learned and will never do it again’#I actually think Emma will do it again a LOT lol (the small joke about shipping Mrs. Weston’s daughters with her nephews that Austen makes)#but it’s like—-the lifeblood of her heart has started flowing differently—if that makes sense#she crosses a threshold on the drive home from Box Hill when she sits in the back of the carriage and cries silently

thinking about this girl i barely know who started drama with me for no reason a couple months ago and tried to turn all our mutual friends against me and now she’s mad at another friend for no reason and is being super shady to her and this friend told me “it’s like what happened with you all over again” … yeah funny how that works
#like this is what we call a pattern of behavior folks#on one hand it’s very validating to see everyone realizing that this girl is the problem#but on the other hand it’s frustrating that they didn’t see it in the first place bc for a minute there almost all of them sided with her#and yet now they’re all telling me the whole situation was stupid from the beginning and they never understood what her issue was with me#and i’ve been trying to just stay out of the petty drama but they all talk shit about her constantly?#none of them seem to genuinely like her (understandably) so why did they all go along with her when she stirred shit up with me yk#and multiple people who aren’t in this group but have been around us and seen the dynamics have approached me about this girl#saying it seems like she seeks out reasons to dislike people (namely me) and wants to create problems etc etc#and idk it’s just interesting that all these people have been saying the same things all along#and now the people IN the group are finally starting to say it too like yeah we’ve known this#anyway. idk how to conclude this i’m just making observations#i have not participated in the shit talking bc i don’t want to give her an actual reason to have issues with me but i keep witnessing it#so i just hope she doesn’t get it in her head that now IM turning them against HER bc i’m fully not doing anything#they’re just finally catching on to what has been very obvious to me and other outside perspectives from the beginning#lj.txt

I have a disease and it’s called giving my main Lamb Interpretation ( Solange ) multiple different aus and “ canons “
#current additions are my revamp of my bad end for Solange#which I’m calling menticide haze ( i have a draft explaining the au in the works but gen plot is solange gets addicted to menticide shrooms)#and an au where Solange is like: no I will not release the bishops from purgatory to Mystic Seller#and Mystic Seller is like: ugh fine but if you change your mind you can face them in the purgatory pit#and Solange just does her own thing#she still is able to access god tears via the big statue shrine thingy#and is able to access the former domains of the bishops#since the bishops are actually in the purgatory pit thing instead of the whole postgame thing in canon#however idk if Nari is alive in this or not#I’m leaning towards maybe not#and unlike his siblings he isn’t stuck in the purgatory pit#but somewhere else#probably where he was chained up#and may or may not be crashing the fuck out#I don’t have a name for this au/canon yet#but it’s the canon where Solange is more mentally stable#bc in the main canon it fluctuates#there is a happy ending in the main canon though#but like in this canon Solange is in a stable state more bc she doesn’t have to deal with the bishops and Nari#cult of the lamb#cosmic chatz

Himman and Summiya#the latter of whom just happens to be Zaheer’s older sister#but he ran away from home years before these two were born so he most likely isn’t even aware of their existence#I mean. I’m sure he suspects his sisters had children. but that’s the extent of what he knows#anyway#quite a few headcanons came to mind as I was drawing so I’m gonna type them out while I can still function#(haven’t slept for two nights in a row. I’m starting to doubt whether I’m actually alive or not)#Liba is older by about a year but once they grow up a little it’s barely noticeable and people assume they’re twins#over time they stop bothering to correct them because really. they’re so close they might as well be#they were both burn with port wine stain birthmarks on their faces. much to their mother’s dismay#she has a whole perfectionism complex and needed her children to reflect that to maintain the family image#thus they were taught how to hide the marks early on. but the powder makes them constantly sneeze#liba is very self conscious about it bc of what her mother put in her head. Abyan less so bc while he’s expected to be perfect#his future doesn’t depend on his looks. he always tries to comfort his sister whenever she spirals too deep. no matter that she’s older#when no one is around to hear he calls her Lili <3 it annoyed her at first so she dubbed him Yanyan in retaliation#but over time they both grew to love the nicknames and now use them unironically#they’re the ultimate partners in crime. their goal? gaining as much freedom from their mother as possible#and sooner or later they will manage to do so permanently. which will make Summiya fall apart. but that is currently Kat’s domain#speaking of. hi Kat. I know you’ve already seen this in pencil but look! I coloured them!!#the birthmarks were both kinda annoying and rather fun to do. maybe I’ll change them later. I was too tired to look at refs so I improvised#and there’s no detail in clothing since again. 0 energy whatsoever. but once I refine their full body designs I shall go all out#that reminds me I need to go collect my new sketchbook. might do it on the way home from the store#okay I’m getting distracted. is this my very unsubtle way of trying to influence Kat to write that Summiya fic?#maybe. maybe not. you can’t prove anything 😁

#my sister saw me yesterday when his story quest came out#and i realized i didn’t have enough keys#and i was fucking FUMING#and she was like “(name) you need to calm down” and i was like#“oh im SO FUCKING CALM RN you don’t even KNOW” while grinding my teeth and doing my commissions#i’m actually so upset why tf did i just ASSUME i would have enough story keys#i’m inconsolable#if i get spoilers i’m gonna be putting Diluc In Snezhnaya as the first thing on my kin list (that doesn’t exist)#but at the same time. i want to know so bad#my sister and i were arriving back at home and i was telling her how ME of all people is gonna wake up early#and do my commissions and the quests#and she was like “yeah i was on the hoyolab website earlier and saw a screenshot that i thought you might like”#and i was like “hokyfuckisng SHIT did it. okay answer me one questions. did he talk about—“#“yes he said The D Word” and i literally said YIPPEE and jumped for joy#we were arriving home at the time and i fucking. skipped across our driveway#and i’ve been in a haze ever since#i feel like i’m. like my blood has been replaced by pure electrolytes. and like im#gonna explode if i don’t DO SOMETHING to occupy my time#was doing my commissions earlier and kaeya’s always on my team (ofc) but i heard one of his idle lines and i#went into such a fit of despair bc it reminded me of how i couldn’t do his story quest yet#DUE TO MY OWN DUMBASS CHOICES#that i. had to take him off my team for the day#AND THEN TWO KF MY COMMISSIONS WERE RIGHT BY DAWN WINERY#LIKE. GENSHIN JS REALKY FUCKING ME OVER HUH#why don’t they just spit in my face and stomp me into the ground i think it would feel better than THIS

plant updates kairi is growing a spike i have no idea why ^ i think i see new growth on ryley which is exciting because i was SOOOO sure he was dead, tifa has a BUNCH of new leaves even though she was really struggling for a while, and red is doing great for being so new!!! still no sign of mel being dead or alive but its so hard to tell cause she’s a cactus. adelaide continues to do beautifully well. my kairi propagation attempt seems to have failed but my attempt to bring my years dead haworthia back to life via propagation seems to be going ok..? no roots yet but the leaves are still green. if that one works im gonna be SHOCKED
