Hey Nalyra,
First of all I love your blog and reading your thoughts so thank you for that!!!
I'm curious to know what you think and tbh i might be reaching lol but I found it too interesting not to bring it up.
Basically, I noticed something in ep7, there is this slight scene where they're around the table with Daniel and Louis throws his bowl full of blood across him after sharing that this is hard and it lands/splashes on the painting but also it was imo purposefully thrown toward Armand (we can see him dodge/have that slight stunned expression right afterward) and like Louis could have thrown the bowl in any other direction but he chose that one so I was wondering if you think this might be a sign that Louis isn't as clueless anymore or maybe it's just a sign of his resentment or again just me reading into this way to much lol?
Hey!
Glad you like! 💕
So I think there were several layers to that scene.
For one, this is Louis, his emotions a roller coaster, and they need out. He literally puts the golden spoon down, to reject the controlled food he was given, and hurl it back at the one who is responsible for this controlled environment.
It is an event to clue us in on Louis reaching the end of his tether and him knowing who is responsible both, at least deep down inside of him.
It is also a hint that Armand is losing his control over him.
And then... there is the layer of where that blood lands.
Because... that is not any painting. That is the "Sea of Galilei", a stolen Rembrandt painting. In the story referenced through the painting Christ calms the storm after his disciples panic, and he admonishes them: “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?”
Louis literally throws blood at a painting depicting Christ trying to calm his disciples, metaphorically rejecting the calming influence he has been under, by spilling blood on it. Blood has been spilled. Blood will be spilled.
Going by the fact that Louis throws that bowl at Armand... it might be Armand's (too).
And Louis is actively rejecting the "calming influence", something that has been called the "veil" in the book.
Lestat also spoke of the veil that separates them in his letter.
Louis throwing the blood there will ultimately lead to them reuniting again.
Eventually.

I am pretty sure that this scene
is a parallel of this scene
There are plenty of negative and positive elements in it, but the two scenes are basically identical in nature.
Step 1: the staff is having difficulty adjusting to a new regimen and performance requirement
Step 2: Sydney guides a particular staff member (Debra in s1 and Tina in s3) through a complicated culinary process (the count in s1 and the recipe in s3).
Step 3: Carmy STARES
Sydneys defiance
In both scenarios, Sydney goes through the process with patience and care despite her own exhaustion and frustration, particularly with Carmy.
In both scenarios, Carmy seems to be impressed by that. Hence the way he hooks at her.
The negative element here is that in both scenes, Sydney is doing what she is doing despite Carmy; in the scene with Ebra in s1, Carmy thinks she is mad at him, and in s3, Sydney is directly confronting Carmy and (almost) disobeying an order. Both scenes serve to establish Sydney as the true leader of the kitchen, not inspired by Carmy but despite him.
And Carmy also seems to feel some type of way about that. In the scene in S1, right after, Carmy starts to pressure the staff to keep the tempo, which kind of feels like him trying to establish himself as the one who was actually in control.
I dont think this is Carmy resenting Syd, but maybe feeling bad that he cannot contribute something positive to her, in s1 that seems to feel increased because her dismissal of his apology.
in s3, right after Sydney helps Tina, you can see them lock eyes, and Carmy almost seems frustrated, like he wants to say to Syd, "Why did you do that? or "I don't like the fact that you dismissed me"
Again, I think this is more about him wanting to feel like the hero of the situation and his frustration with the fact that he is doing it all wrong and Syd has to take the lead, but also a part of him admires and recognizes something else...
Syd is taking the system that made Carmy (the chaos in s1 and the abuse in s3) and taking a step back on making sure no one is left behind.
first gif by @shamixlour. The rest from @thoughtfulchaos773, also credits to them because they clocked them showing Sydney’s paciente in s3.

Hello Nalyra, it's me again.......
The trial clearly shaterred me and obviously as you know I'm a bit (a lot) confused regarding some things and one in particular came up to me today as I rewatched the episode.
A few things were not revisited at all in the trial i.e. the murder night which is a pity but I trust the process, I let the tale seduce me and I know anyway that we will get Lestat's pov at some point in season 3 and I'm certain that we will go back to that specific night.
HOWEVER, do you think they actually might have, during the trial, spoken of that night and about Claudia's confession in her diary of using Louis to kill Lestat? Do you think they did but because ep7 was recounted by a clearly mind-controlled Louis and Armand, they did not highlight that aspect of the trial play at all?
What mostly confuses me is the fact that the trial is imo, the only moment where this piece of information can be shared you know because I really don't see Louis reading Claudia's diary post her death and learning about it that way, so they must have went over that night during the trial. Besides, I know Santiago used her diary at some point but they were displayed so that we see them as an audience, so that we are conscious of their existence and I don't know I don't feel like they used them that much and that irked me as well.
Obviously, my head is spinning and going in every direction but I just think these are such fundamental parts of the murder night and it is weird to think they did not speak about them during the trial that supposedly was all about that said murder attemp...like something is not clicking.
What do you think?
Have a nice day~
Hey!
Since they already put that into her written words I do think they will go there, eventually. But…. since this was a mock trial I think it might only come into play in s3. When Lestat recounts it.
Because this trial… this trial was presented (to Daniel, us and Louis) in a way to shift the blame from Armand, to Lestat, and to keep the memory of Claudia mostly (kind and) intact.
There were things glossed over and edited. Hidden.
We will likely only get the full picture in s3 it seems.
It… seems a bit much to go back for it in ep8. Especially since the aftermath is coming up.

Hi Nalyra!!!!!!
How are you doing?
Just a silly ask but is there some Loustat scenes you cannot wait to see on your screen?
I'll start, I really hope we'll get to see the Loustat flying trip in QOTD as imho it will mean SO much more after all the 1x05 events but also one of my personal's favourite aka the church scene in TOTBT....i love that scene so freaking much TT
Hey!
I‘m fine, thank you!
That is one scene I also cannot wait to see!! And I would also love the parts of Memnoch and Merrick with Louis and Lestat.
I really, really want to see them fighting other vampires after the concert though. The two of them, taking care of each other in the midst of battle 😈

Thx to @shamixlour for the pic!!!
It‘s even better (than “just“ Loustat): the unholy family… all in red 🙌🥰
src
I'm not trying to be rude and istg I love Louis, but is anyone else disappointed that the SDCC wrap has Loustat? It's Lestat's season so wouldn't it have made more sense for Nicki and Lestat to get a wrap together just like Loumand got a wrap together for their season? They at least should have put Lestat in the front because he is now the titular vampire.
This show is about Loustat. Based on Loustat. That’s what they said again and again.
And them both on the poster in similar suits simply reflects that.
Sorry to be blunt, but welcome to “Interview with the Vampire“.
It’s been said. I‘ve been trying to point that out for years by now -.-Why does this come as a surprise???
