Okay!! I have a question!! Where do you get all the IFs you read? Bc I'm frfr invested in IFs and I NEED more! (I try getting some off itch.io but it fr hard 2 find rlly good ones :C) If you have some recommendations please give me them!!!! <333 (if you have some personal favs *cough cough* when your Mc is villain– Ahem–) But yeah! If you have some recommendations please feed them to me 😌 (I did look at a post from a while ago when you gave a anon some recommendations and I been eating them up lol)
I can tell you, but first, you will need: chalk, 5 red candles (any scent or unscented), 1 pint of blood, 3 teaspoons tears, 100 grams salt, and one can of peach Fresca (that's for me - I like a bubbly treat when summoned).
I don't do anything too special to find IFs. I peruse Tumblr when I can (it brings up recommended pages and I just click through them), get recs from a couple friends, and scour the itchio search like I'm looking for government secrets. Steam has some completed ones you can buy too. I've been collecting IFs for several years, so I just have ended up with a lot.
Any demo I find - I read it (or rather these days, I add it to the backlog to read when I'm done writing or when I need a breather). More recently @if-whats-new has been a great source to help me find IFs to devour.
I am glad you've been enjoying my list! I wondered if most would already know about all of them. I'll pop a few more below just in case. ^_^
God Syndicate, Fortune Forsaken, Spotlight, Lightweaver: Chosen, The Midnight Bay, The Sunhold Coven, Press Play, Bethroned, Deux à Deux, Hungry Dogs, Hundsnächte, Soulmates, Inc, A Court of Serpents, Merry Crisis
If you would like even more, you should be able to view all the Tumblrs I follow. Most of them will be IFs or authors. Enjoy!

Note: This is a bit different, more intuitive and wrote this in the train back home, hope you enjoyyy
Book a reading! || Ko-fi
🪽 Pile 1
In your fantasy novel adventure, you are an aspiring mage with a unique ability to communicate with ancient spirits. Your quest is to find a codex, a legendary book said to contain the secrets of controlling the elements. With this power, you hope to prevent a catastrophic war between rival mage factions.
Your journey takes you through enchanted forests, treacherous mountains, and forgotten ruins, where you encounter magical creatures and uncover cryptic clues. Along the way, you must make choices that balance the ethical use of your newfound powers with the greater good of your realm.
As you get closer to your goal, you discover that the Codex is protected by a guardian spirit, and you must undergo a series of trials to prove your worthiness. These trials test your wisdom, empathy, and resolve. Ultimately, you succeed but must decide whether to keep the Codex's power for yourself or use it to broker peace among the warring factions, knowing that doing so may come at a great personal cost. Your adventure is a tale of magic, self-discovery, and the enduring struggle between power and responsibility.
🪽 Pile 2
In your fantasy novel adventure, you are a skilled rogue known for your exceptional agility and wit. Your quest is to track down a notorious group of thieves known as the "Shadowed Serpents" who have stolen a powerful, cursed gemstone that can control minds.
To catch the Shadowed Serpents, you'll navigate a sprawling, ancient city filled with hidden passages, secret societies, and corrupt officials. Alongside your trusty band of misfit companions, each with their unique skills, you'll decode cryptic clues, outsmart traps, and engage in thrilling rooftop chases.
As you close in on the thieves, you'll discover their leader possesses a dark secret connected to the gemstone's curse. Your journey becomes a moral dilemma, as you must decide whether to break the curse, which might endanger the city, or use the gemstone to expose corruption and free the minds of its victims. Your adventure is a thrilling blend of espionage, cunning heists, and the complexities of right and wrong in a shadowy world.
🪽 Pile 3
Your adventure takes a darker turn as you become the leader of a formidable group of supervillains. Your quest is to unleash chaos and establish dominance over a sprawling metropolis known for its vigilant superheroes.
As the cunning mastermind behind the Syndicate, you'll recruit a diverse array of superpowered individuals, each with their own unique abilities and motivations. Together, you'll concoct ingenious schemes to disrupt the city's peace and challenge the superheroes who stand in your way.
Your journey will involve heists on a grand scale, unleashing destructive powers, and psychological manipulation to exploit the heroes' weaknesses. Along the way, you'll delve into your own character's complex backstory, exploring the motivations that drove you to become a villain and your desire for ultimate power.
As your plans escalate, you'll face increasingly powerful heroes, leading to epic showdowns and thrilling battles that could determine the fate of the city. Your adventure is a morally ambiguous tale that delves into the depths of villainy, exploring the complex motivations and personal struggles of those who choose to walk the path of darkness.
🪽 Pile 4
In your story, you are a talented, yet reclusive, artist living in a picturesque coastal village. Your quiet life takes an unexpected turn when a charismatic and mysterious stranger arrives in town. This stranger, exudes an aura of intrigue and possesses a passion for restoring antique books.
Your adventure begins when the stranger discovers a hidden chamber in the village's ancient library, rumored to contain a love letter written centuries ago by a long-lost soul. They enlist your artistic skills to bring the letter's sentiments to life through illustrations.
As you both work together on this project, you unravel the story of a profound, forbidden love between two people from different eras. The more you delve into the past, the closer you grow to the strabger. Sparks fly as the line between the story and reality blurs, and a deep connection forms between you two.
Yet, secrets from their past threaten to tear you apart. The quest for the truth behind their enigmatic identity becomes as important as preserving the love story from the past. Along this romantic journey, you'll confront your own fears, past heartaches, and find the courage to embrace a love that transcends time.

CRIMSOM SHADE
Prologue
The Monster in the Shadow
How can such an innocent women have
Such dangerous hands?
- ( The song of the Chapter is "Dangerous Hands" by Austin Giorgio.
A shadow loomed in the dark stillness of the night.
A pair of eyes gleamed.
The eyes of a predator.
Eyes like fire and thunder, laced with venom.
Multiple computers flickered to red all of a sudden. Someone had dared to invade the monster's lair. He was at once thrilled and in awe of the audacity of the intruder, "TheSwallow."
TheSwallow had breached the first layer of firewall the monster had built around his empire of dark web.
And the monster was no stranger to TheSwallow.
He knew her.
He had stolen from her.
How did the monster know the intruder was a "her"? Experience. Years of navigating in the dark corridors of hacking taught him to distinguish between a "he" and a "she". The "she"s usually had a specific style in writing code. These codes in his screens were so damn gorgeous to be written by a man.
The "she"s were very rare in the hacker business, but when there was a "she", it was a fucking spectacle to behold.
Just like what's transpiring right now.
The monster could kiss her dainty little fingers for the show she was putting on. So sexy, so sensual.
A smile curved in the corner of his lips.
His smile was a blade wrapped in silk.
A sinister mixture of danger and delight.
It was time to lay a trap for the little bird. Let’s see how the swallow fared in the sky of the eagles.
Chapter 1
A Serpent in the Eagle's Den
Did you really think
I'd just forgive and forget.
- ( The song of the Chapter is "I see red" by Everybody loves an outlaw)
TheShadowMonster
It's the name she hates the most in the whole universe right now. Who is TheShadowMonster? She doesn't know. No one knows. He is a notorious hacker on the dark web, the lord of that shadowy world. Hackers all over the globe admire him, some worship him and others wet their pants at the mere mention of his name. He is a name of admiration, reverence, and fear in their world.
Khushi Sen Gupta used to admire him, even worshipped him in certain weak moments, but not anymore. Right now, she hates his guts.
TheShadowMonster is a thief.
He has no morals.
As if growing up in a notorious mafia family in Kolkata wasn't bad enough, now she has to deal with this setback in her secret life as well.
Yes, Khushi Sen Gupta is a hacker.
A highly proficient one.
A childhood full of mommy issues and daddy issues does that to you, when you find computers more emotionally available to you than your own parents.
And, Khushi Sen Gupta is a born genius. She discovered the language of computers when she was 8 years old, and since then, she never looked back.
Her father, Sashidhar Sen Gupta is the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Kolkata. Behind that badge, he is also the most corrupt in the country's history, not that anyone knows about his crimes. He is a member of 'The Serpents,' one of the three families that established the mafia in this country in the fifties.
The infamous 'Triad.'
Three powerful families came together to form an organized mafia syndicate that have been dominating the country for decades. These families swore to follow the laws laid down by The Godfathers and to stand by each other in times of need.
In every family, there’s The Boss, often called The Godfather, the unquestioned head who rules the entire empire. Just beneath him is The Underboss, The Heir, waiting in the shadows to take the throne. On par with the Underboss in power is The Consigliere, the trusted advisor who, though not bound by blood, holds the family's fate in his hands.
Beneath this triad of authority are the captains, who oversee specific operations and territories, managing their own teams to ensure the family's orders are executed with precision. At the end of the food chain are the foot soldiers, who carry out day-to-day tasks on the streets.
When territories were being distributed, the then head of the Serpents, Samol Kumar Jha, claimed West Bengal and its borders. They started operating from there. The Sen Gupta family had the honor of being The Consiglieri of The Serpents from the very beginning and they have held that position ever since.
A Consigliere is someone who is not related to the family by blood.
An outsider to the family,
But not an outsider to the mafia society.
He offers legal and financial counsel to The Boss while shielding them from impending threats.
That is Khushi's father now.
The Consigliere of the Serpents.
The Serpents have been ruling West Bengal for decades, but a few years ago, they moved to Delhi when The Boss of that time, Prakash Narayan Jha, decided to dip his toes into politics. As a result, the Sen Gupta household also relocated to Delhi. Even after The Boss was mysteriously murdered, they didn't move back. The Serpents now operate their business in Kolkata from Delhi, as the brother of the deceased boss took over that part of the business a few years ago, giving The Heir a chance to pursue his other interests. The Heir wants to venture into even more dangerous games.
The Politics.
The son of the deceased boss, Shyam Manohar Jha, is eager to try his luck in the political arena, just like his father.
People call him "The Viper".
A fitting description of his nature.
The second family of The Triad is the Mumbai Wolves. As the name suggests, Mumbai is their territory. Khushi knows very little about them. She never had to. In her entire 22 years of life, she hasn't crossed paths with any of them. But she could vaguely recall that the boss's daughter was killed last month, brutally and brazenly, in broad daylight, such an insult to the power the Wolves possessed. The news sent shockwaves through the underworld, leaving everyone on edge and wary of a brewing storm ahead.
And the last but not the least, the most notorious of them all.
The Black Eagles.
Here she stands, right in the heart of their territory.
It’s not that people from one family can’t visit another’s territory. The Serpents have basically been living in Delhi, which is the Black Eagles' domain, for the past two decades. However, a rule has been established. The Serpents can’t meddle in The Eagles' affairs. So, Khushi being here wouldn’t be an issue if it weren’t for two facts, first, the Serpents and the Black Eagles don’t see eye to eye, and second, she came here to stick her tiny nose in their business.
The serpents and the Eagles are enemies, they have been for a long time, bound by a fragile alliance that forces them to tolerate one another. What turned once-friends into bitter foes? That’s a long story, one best saved for another time. For now, there's a more pressing issue to focus on.
Her whereabouts.
Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.
It is a mistake.
It can't be nothing but a mistake.
A grave one in nature.
Entering enemy territory like this!
But it is a mistake she has to make.
There's a party going on, a costume party with masks, nonetheless. At least it will be a tad bit easier to hide her identity.
The knives strapped to both of her thighs are biting into her skin, adding an extra notch to her already frayed nerves.
Ignoring the pain in her thigh, Khushi simply observes the scene in front of her. She has been preparing for this night for days. She has meticulously transformed her appearance for the evening. The long black sleeveless gown conceals the knives. She's paired the dress with a simple black lace mask. Her dark hair is curled into long waves with lips painted a vivid red.
It is anything but her.
But it is absolutely essential for her plan to remain unrecognizable.
She forces herself to maintain an air of nonchalance. She feigns drinking from the wine glass in her hand, but her eyes are locked on the crowd, never losing focus. A few sips of the drink might have soothed her jittery nerves, yet she refrains. A crystal clear focus is more crucial than any illusion of liquid courage.
The party is being held in the sprawling lawn of a grand mansion owned by a businessman associated with the Black Eagles. The mansion comes alive with the vibrant energy of the party, where twinkling fairy lights drape the trees, casting a warm glow across the night.
Laughter and music fill the open space, a lively symphony of chatter and clinking glasses. Guests mingle in elegant attire, their faces hidden behind an array of intricate masks, each more ornate than the last.
The scent of fresh blooms from the immaculately manicured hedge fills the air. She scans the softly glowing lawn area from the shadows of one of those hedges, observing faces she recognizes from the news over the years. She watches as the soldiers of the Eagles parade around with women mostly decorating the arms of the men they are with, just like those lavish centerpieces, adorning the beautifully arranged tables.
"Mr.Rathore, so nice to see you."
A man's loud greetings draw her attention. Khushi studies the man being greeted. He stands tall, his slender yet agile frame filling out the sharp lines of his tailored suit, a classic black that contrasts with his neatly combed white hair. The burden of age is visible on his face, etched deeply with wrinkles.
Vikrant "the Butcher" Singh Rathore.
The Boss of The Black Eagles.
Everyone in her world has some sort of crimson stain on their hands. But his hands bear the darkest stains of blood, deeper and more haunting than anyone else, the darkest shade of crimson.
They call him "The Butcher" for a reason.
His cold-blooded attitude is a thing of admiration in their world. Khushi has been around men like him in her life long enough not to let that shake her, or at the very least, to ensure none of it betrays her perfectly stoic face, carefully honed through years of practice.
Standing beside him is his son, the Prince of the Rathore Empire, Akash Singh Rathore. A tall, leanly built, lanky man. His role within the Eagles is still uncertain. Rumor has it that the Junior Rathore wants to leave the mafia world, not a promising prospect for the Rathore family, with an heirless empire hanging in the balance.
Those men in the eastern corner of the lawn care very little about the masquerade, standing barefaced while others conceal themselves behind masks. Good for Khushi. Nonetheless, she has studied them so much over the past few days that she will recognize them anywhere whether masked or unmasked, veiled, or unveiled.
Khushi finally lets herself take a little sip of the red liquid for the first time that night. The bitterness of the wine burns her throat, a spark compared to the burning hate prickling her skin as her eyes wander to the man who stands silently beside Junior Rathore.
The man she has come here for.
Arnav Singh Raizada.
The Consigliere of the Black Eagles.
The Vulture.
Her eyes trace over him, lingering on every detail. He stands tall in an all-black suit. The black shirt underneath has its top three buttons open in absence of a tie. His black hair is slightly messy, as if he has just run his fingers through it. He has his gaze fixed on the man in front of him with the most bored, expressionless face she has ever seen. It’s hard to see his eyes from this distance.
But she knows they are brown.
Light chocolate brown.
Like caramel and chocolate mixed together, sprinkled with a hint of orange and green if you get the right angle.
Eyes like shadow and flame.
Eyes that could kill you, literally and figuratively.
She's observed pictures of him in great detail, just for research purposes to be absolutely clear.
Purely and absolutely.
Not because she finds him attractive or anything. Like right now, she can't take her eyes off the handsome man, not because his well-built body is flexing in all the right places as he shakes someone's hand, but because of the stories she has heard of him over the years since he returned from the States seven years ago.
The words have it that after Senior Rathore's retirement, he will be the boss of The Black Eagles, not Junior Rathore. They say Vikrant Singh Rathore favors Mr. Raizada over his own son. In parts, Mr. Raizada even bears a closer resemblance to Senior Rathore than to his own father.
Arnav "The Vulture" Singh Raizada.
He is The Vulture among The Eagles.
In the mafia world, he is known as 'the vulture'. Whereas in the business world, people refer to him by the acronym, ASR. He is the son of the former consigliere of The Black Eagles, Arvind Singh Raizada. Arvind Singh Raizada and Vikrant Singh Rathore were best friends. After Arvind was murdered, his wife tragically ended her life by taking matters into her own hands. Soon after that, Senior Rathore sent the only surviving Raizada to the USA to study at Harvard.
At the age of 25, Mr. Raizada took over the reins of Rathore Industries. It primarily consists of high-end fashion houses, garment factories, and various other business ventures. He transformed the once-dying company into a Fortune 500 corporation. People say his net worth is over 500 million dollars, with some even claiming it is more.
But the more impressive thing is how he got his nickname. He cleared away all their illegal affairs and whitewashed all of their black money, giving them the squeaky clean reputation in the entire mafia world in the police database. Under the shade of the massive wings of The Vulture, The Eagles can now easily operate their business without any hitch.
Such a waste of a Harvard education, Khushi huffs.
There's a saying in her world that became popular in the last few years, "When the vulture surrounds you, try not to die."
He has the reputation of being the deadliest Eagle of them all, the most predatory. He rarely goes on a hunt though, but when he does, it's said to be over in the bat of an eye.
He goes straight for the jugular.
No distractions.
No playing around with the prey.
But no one ever saw him in action. Her bodyguard-turned-driver, Mohan, thinks they are all just rumors The Eagles have spread to instill fear among the masses regarding the next in line.
She fakely smiles at a waiter who offers her some desserts. Slightly raising her wine glass, she pretends to take a sip once again. She keeps her inspection ongoing from under the rim of her glass. She is right. Mr. Raizada does run his fingers through his hair a lot. The tattoo on his hand catches her eye.
He has a tattoo of a swallow on his right hand. Her favourite bird.
She even named her hacker ID "TheSwallow." She yearns for the freedom of the bird and wants to fly away to a far-off land one day. She doesn't want to be frowned upon like the peacock or the swan. She wants to be free, lost in the crowd like a normal human, not caged away in a castle.
She feels bad for the bird inked into his skin. Such a pretty bird to be trapped on the hand of such a despicable man. Just as he has caged the swallow forever in his skin, The Vulture has robbed her of her freedom as well.
She worked tirelessly throughout her years at IIT Delhi to gather information and evidence about the crimes committed by his father and the Serpents, so that by the end of her graduation, she could share them with the police in exchange of protection and escape from the country. She also coded a deadly virus that could evade any high-end security system, which she intended to sell on the dark web for a high price. But as she was transferring the data to the CBI, it stopped at the 10% mark, and all her data and the virus she created were gone. Abso-fucking-lutely gone. Not a single file remained on her computer. To make matters worse, her computer was formatted.
She was hacked by none other than TheShadowMonster. Why did the infamous hacker in the history of all hackers need to target someone like her? She has no idea. She was in the dark then, and she’s still in the dark now. She doesn't care about the 'why's, 'how's, or 'who's anymore.
She only knows that the information he has hacked is dangerous. It can demolish the entire mob world if it falls into the wrong hands. They can use it as leverage against the mob families, especially the Serpents, to achieve anything. And it has ended up in the worst hands possible.
The hands of an enemy.
She has been tracking the data and TheShadowMonster relentlessly for the past few days. She even managed to hack TheShadowMonster's server. All of this tracking has led her to Mr. Raizada. TheShadowMonster has sold the information to him. She discovered text messages, transactions, and every detail that pointed to the fact that the information was sold to Mr. Raizada in exchange for a huge amount of money.
And with that, all her escape routes have been blocked. She is trapped in this hellhole.
However, the thing is she can't stay in Delhi any longer. She can't afford to wait to collect more information against them as the day of her wedding approaches rapidly. She needs to retrieve the information tonight, at any cost, from none other than Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada.
She is going to kill The Vulture.
She knows it seems foolish and utterly illogical, but she has no other choice. Either she will kill him and obtain the information, or he will kill her and put her out of her misery. Either way, she will be free.
There is one more reason behind her desire to eliminate The Vulture.
Her only friend from university, despite her father's hovering and overprotectiveness, has vanished after the hacking incident. She doesn't want to assume the worst, but her efforts to track him down and her inquiries among other students led nowhere. Neil Kashyap, whom she calls NK, has vanished without a trace. She knows NK can remain untraceable if he wants, as he is skilled with computers and adept at erasing his online tracks as well. But Khushi is Khushi. She discovered a number NK shared text messages with before his disappearance, and that number belongs to Mr. ASR.
Khushi doesn't have time to cry over her pathetic life or the fact that she befriended someone sent by The Eagles to keep an eye on her. She not only befriended him but also made him her best friend for life.
The pathetic, lonely, friendless life that she has.
That is indeed a solid reason to kill Mr. Raizada, for giving her a best friend and then snatching it all away.

Hey!Can you please recommend me some fanfictions where harry sees draco's sectumsempra scars and feels absolutley guilty?
It need not be the main focus of the story, but one good scene about it would do!
Thanks.
Hello, hello! Your holds have arrived!
I loved your ask, and appreciated the openness of it, as I think not being limited to completely Sectumsempra focused fics allowed me to pick some extra great fics! In general, for this list, the shorter the fic, the more focused on the Sectumsempra scene/scars it is. Hope you enjoy!
Sectumsempra Scars
That Won't Erase It by @triggerlil (539 words, rated M)
Two men, a multitude of scars, one intimate moment.
I'm Sorry (it doesn't matter) by @carpemermaidtales (words 637, rated M)
Harry trailed off and pressed a kiss to Malfoy’s temple. “I’m still sorry, all the same. I wish that hadn’t happened. I wish you weren’t scarred from it. I guess now I know why you always insist on showering at home instead of in the training centre.”
“Well, that, and the facilities are appalling,” Malfoy muttered acidly.
Harry froze. He hadn’t realised Malfoy was awake.
Sectumsempra Scars by @drarrily-we-row-along (1,055 words, rated T)
Harry woke up first the following morning. He’d shifted, rolling toward Draco and opening his eyes; he wasn’t prepared for the sight that met him.
The normally flawless skin of Draco’s chest and abdomen was covered with raised scars, scars that intersected and crossed all the way up to his neck, one trailing as high as his cheek.
And for a minute, Harry tried to piece together what could have happened in his bed overnight.
life's like an hourglass glued to the table by @phoebe-delia (1,455 words, rated T)
I really don't know how it got like this.
That's not true, yes I do. Of course, I do. I was there, near the middle of it all; not the epicenter, not the periphery, but somewhere within the nebulous part in-between. I was close enough to be scathed, to be one of the supporting characters—though I'm fairly certain my support was the problem—but I was neither protagonist nor antagonist.
Phoenix in the Fire by @fw00shy (1,466 words, rated E)
Their first time was an accident. "Sex pollen," Draco claims, though everyone knows it was too much Ogden's after Puddlemere beat the Tornados 240-230.
"He's like a vengeful sex demon after he's lost," Harry confesses in the privacy of Hermione's kitchen. "A lustful, bitter jackhammer."
Sun Stroke by @peachpety (3,854 words, rated E)
Draco, Harry, and a handful of friends take a summer holiday at the beach. With the help of a sultry sea setting, encouraging friends, and a fisherman’s jumper, Harry and Draco's mutual attraction swells and things get hot on a salty summer night.
Erase the Shame by @fleetofshippyships-archive (6,763 words, rated E)
An Inter-House unity party is the last thing Draco wants to go to. It's not long into a game of Truth or Dare when he is reminded why.
But maybe his dare is worth it after all.
In The Company of Serpents by @corvuscrowned (24,954 words, rated E)
There’s something wrong with the serpents at the Greengrass Ophidiarium. Luckily, a certain Parselmouth just might be able to help.
Oh, Sinnerman by @lou-isfake (40,068 words, rated E)
“I’m serious, Potter,” Malfoy said quietly. “That was some real bad luck you had, being there last night. They will come after you, and they will kill you—after torturing you for information on my whereabouts.” He pocketed Harry’s wand, but held on to his knife, twirling it between his fingers. Harry was distracted by its movement, the reflections of the bright, dawning sun on polished silver. “I’m not happy about it, either, but you’re stuck with me for the foreseeable future.”
He watched Malfoy’s face for a long time, in a staring contest he wasn’t sure he’d signed up for. Stuck with Malfoy, for the foreseeable future, on the run from a massive crime syndicate that had infiltrated the Ministry and was out for their blood.
It was all very familiar, except for the Malfoy part.
Everything is Relative to You by @thehoneybeet (43,111 words, rated E)
Potter was supposed to have lived. Draco is certain of this. That Potter would no longer walk the earth was tantamount to the sun moving west to east across the sky. If only he could have stopped this from happening, if he’d have known…
It comes to him as ideas often did: too late.
Or, Harry dreams of his past lives, and Draco is in every one.
Not From Kindred Stock by @p1013 (45,779 words, rated E)
"Potter!" Draco calls again, but this time he pauses at the sound of his voice. "Potter?"
Something is very wrong.
Because now that he's gained a little of his equilibrium back and the room is no longer spinning, Draco has a sinking realisation that his voice doesn't sound rough or gravelly, but rather different. Different like his vision and the feel of his body around his bones and the bloody goddammned fucking clothes on his—shagging Salazar, God fuck, this isn't his body.
Among Ancient Pines by @graymatters (73,981 words, rated M)
Every day, Draco Malfoy tries. With every fiber of his being he tries. But he doesn’t much think about what he’s trying for.
In his final term of Healer training, Draco is unfortunate enough to find himself on a plane, the only means of traveling to a small, magical town in rural Alaska. Years of hard work have culminated in an opportunity to work with an experimental wandmaker to study the intersection of Healing and wand theory. When Draco arrives, he doesn't find the wandmaker, but does find his apprentice, who happens to have ridiculously messy hair, a lightning bolt scar, and a definitely-not-charming smile. But Draco isn’t going to let Harry Potter get in the way of him becoming a successful medical researcher, even if Potter is stubborn, hot-tempered, reckless, surprisingly gentle, has bizarre taste in music, and likes to leave his shirts unbuttoned. How hard could the next few months be?
A fic about challenging assumptions, discovering self-worth, the silver lining in failing to meet expectations, and finding friendship, love, and purpose in a small Alaskan town that’s steeped in magic.
in the dark by @toxik-angel (81,213 words, rated M)
Draco Malfoy may not have a Manor or money or status or a family or friends, but he has his looks, and goes into the glamorous modeling field.
And listen. Listen. No one can blame Harry for being obsessed with him all over again.
Bolts by @lqtraintracks (114,500 words, rated E)
Harry joins the Hogwarts staff as the new History of Magic Professor, while Draco has already been teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts for the past year. When Samantha, a first year, is being bullied one day and throws a made-up Truth curse at her harasser, only to accidentally hit Harry instead, Harry becomes cursed to tell the truth, and not only that, he has to regularly tell it to Draco Malfoy. Samantha is clearly gifted, maybe the most powerful witch or wizard to ever come through Hogwarts, and yet she has no idea how to take the curse off. As they work to remove it—and also teach Samantha how to control a power that's becoming more dangerous by the day—will Harry's truths become too much to handle? And will whatever’s going on with Draco just make everything exponentially worse?
❤️ As always, if you find a fic you enjoy, please remember to leave the author a kudos or a comment! ❤️
Lots of Love and Happy Reading!

ngl i rushed to the inbox at the speed of light. could we please get a continuation of cinnabar and fem chief's romantic relationship headcanons? especially marriage related ones if you will 🥺 thank you!
Thank you for your patience! I had a lot of fun writing this request, though I did focus a lot on the proposal and wedding, so if you want more married life headcanons, well, feel free to ask!
Marriage-related headcanons with Cinnabar and F!Chief
Cinnabar and Chief dated for about five years before Cinnabar finally popped the question, and even that was only due to the egging of her comrades at Serpent Eye.
Cinnabar was so hesitant around the idea of possibly messing things up with her beloved girlfriend that it wasn't until Alyosha posed a grim scenario that she realized she had to act: “You both have a very dangerous line of work, Cinnabar. Either of you could die at any moment and you'd live with the regret of never getting to marry her the rest of your damn life.”
Though Cinnabar truly hoped she would go out before Chief, she was wise enough to know Alyosha's words rang true, so she began to plan her proposal.
Even after she'd made the decision, it still took a while for Cinnabar to get everything ready. A month or two, at least, and she made sure to casually bring up the topic of marriage, just to make sure the Chief was favorable to the idea. Cinnabar felt like she could've fainted from relief when she was.
Several members of Serpent Eye offered to help with her proposal, but Cinnabar turned them down. She didn't want a big, grand gesture, just a small, intimate moment between herself and her girlfriend.
When the day came, Cinnabar stood in front of a grave in an Eastside cemetery, dressed in a fancy suit and holding a bouquet of roses. Her nervous anticipation was at an all-time high as she waited for her girlfriend; she knew this was a bizarre place for a proposal, but Chief would understand and appreciate the sentiment… She hoped.
Indeed, when Chief arrived, she was quite confused, though she accepted the bouquet nevertheless. Cinnabar rolled out a blanket and placed a picnic basket down on it, saying that she wanted to introduce her father to her girlfriend… Understanding dawned on the Chief then.
As the picnic neared its end, Cinnabar had to fight nervous instinct to keep from constantly checking her pockets. The ring box was there, everything would be fine, she needed to stop worrying…
When she determined the moment was right, Cinnabar took a deep breath and shifted to get on one knee. Chief stared at her with wide eyes as she began, professing her endless love and adoration, as well as how happy Chief had made her, and how she wanted to stay eternally by her side…
Cinnabar pulled the small box from her pocket and opened it, revealing the simple but nevertheless beautiful ring within. “Chief, will you marry me?”
For a few moments, Chief seemed shocked still, terrifying moments in which Cinnabar held her breath. Then, the Chief beamed brighter than Cinnabar had ever seen her do so before, hugging her tightly. “Of course I will, Cinnabar,” she whispered, offering her hand for Cinnabar to slide the ring onto.
As they left the graveyard hand-in-hand, Cinnabar paused for a moment to look back at her father's grave… Somehow, she had a feeling that he approved of his daughter's chosen wife.
The members of the Bureau, as well as Serpent Eye, were extremely congratulatory for the pair, and offered their help as well. Cinnabar and Chief were extremely grateful for it, as their jobs were still extremely busy and left little time to plan their wedding.
Langley and Nightingale's help, in particular, was invaluable; there were several officials that protested Chief's union with a Sinner, but with their help, Chief was able to get them to concede and get all the needed paperwork processed.
The day of the wedding finally came around a year later. The chosen venue was an old chapel in Syndicate, miraculously mostly untouched by the hands of time – it did need a little fixing up, but there was no problem.
Cinnabar waited at the altar, trying not to fidget with her suit. Members of Serpent Eye were seated on one side of the venue, and members of the MBCC on the other – her family and the Chief's, respectively.
Finally, the doors opened, and her groomsmen walked down the aisle. Her Best Man, Alyosha, nodded at her as he took his place at her side. It was a small gesture, but it meant the world to Cinnabar.
Now came the Chief's bridal party. She'd opted to have two Maids of Honor – Zoya and Shalom. The Paradeisian was more than happy wearing a dress, but Zoya had been allowed to wear a suit.
The ring bearer and flower girl could be none other than Hecate and Hella. Though many of the kids in the MBCC had wanted the positions, everyone kind of already figured it'd go to those two, and were happy enough being bridesmaids for the Chief.
Finally, Chief herself made her appearance. Cinnabar's breath caught in her throat as she laid eyes on her bride; as per tradition, she hadn't been allowed to see Chief the night before the wedding, so this was Cinnabar's first time seeing her in her gown; pure white, simple but flowing, with minimal lace. Very Chief-like, Cinnabar thought.
Langley had been chosen to walk Chief down the aisle and hand her off to Cinnabar. When her bride-to-be stopped in front of her and smiled, Cinnabar felt as though her heart might beat out of her chest.
Their vows were simple and sweet, yet brought many to tears – including the brides themselves. Not a single person doubted that these two were made for each other.
When Nightingale announced that she could kiss the bride, Cinnabar felt overwhelmed. She gathered Chief into her arms, hugging her close as they tenderly kissed, met by the cheers and applause of their friends and family.
Indeed, Cinnabar was sure this would be the happiest day of her life. The reception passed in a blur and mostly without incident, but Cinnabar had never felt more elated than in this moment.
(The ‘mostly without incident’ was due to Hella trying to start a food fight. Luckily, Chief reined her in fairly quickly.)
Unfortunately, due to the demands of their work lives, the two of them didn't really have time to have a honeymoon. It was a shame, because they could have used one. They did manage to snag a weekend off, though, which they spent at an Eastside hotel, doing their best to forget about work and enjoy their newlywed life.
Still, when they returned to the Bureau, not much changed. The wedding was mostly a legal formality, a status change recognized by official channels; in truth, the two had behaved like an adoring, married couple for many years prior.
In fact, the biggest change was that, by combining their marriage documents with Cinnabar's exceptional bill of behavior, Chief was able to wrangle special privileges that allowed Cinnabar to share her room with her, rather than having to return to her cell each night.
And as Cinnabar fell asleep that night, her wife in her arms, she couldn't help but think that was more than enough.

Quake: Shadows of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Series Overview:
In the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) finds itself vulnerable. With S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded and former allies scattered, the world is left exposed to new and emerging threats. These aren’t the grand battles against alien invaders or gods, but rather insidious, shadowy forces manipulating global events from behind the scenes. Quake: Shadows of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, as she navigates this treacherous landscape, taking on a leadership role to revive S.H.I.E.L.D. — not as it was, but as it was meant to be. Along the way, she encounters Daredevil, a vigilante who operates in the shadows, bringing his own unique set of skills and moral dilemmas into the mix.
Issue #1: The Shadows of a Broken World
Synopsis:
The world is fragile, and Daisy Johnson is trying to stay hidden from it. Disillusioned by the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the betrayals she’s faced, Daisy is attempting to lead a low-profile life. However, a mysterious message from her past pulls her back into the fray: “The world is more fragile than you think.”
Plot:
Daisy investigates and uncovers an unfinished S.H.I.E.L.D. operation codenamed “Project Phoenix.” This mission was designed to neutralize threats too dangerous for conventional methods — threats involving advanced technology, rogue superhumans, and remnants of Hydra and A.I.M. Daisy realizes the world needs S.H.I.E.L.D. once more, but in a form that’s mobile, flexible, and true to its core values. She decides to lead this new S.H.I.E.L.D. unit, ready to take on the dangers lurking in the shadows.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson (Quake): Daisy is more hardened and cynical than in her earlier days. She’s experienced loss and betrayal, but beneath her tough exterior, she still wants to protect the innocent. The story explores her internal struggle between the desire to live a normal life and the responsibility she feels towards the world.
Phil Coulson (AI or Hologram): Coulson makes a return, but not in the flesh. Instead, he’s a highly advanced AI, programmed with Coulson’s memories and personality. This AI serves as Daisy’s guide and moral compass, pushing her to see that S.H.I.E.L.D. can be a force for good if done right.
Maria Hill: Maria Hill, who has been operating in the shadows since the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., joins Daisy. She’s pragmatic, more willing to bend the rules, but her loyalty to the cause is unwavering. She believes Daisy is the leader the world needs.
New Characters: A young, tech-savvy hacker with ties to Wakanda and a former HYDRA operative seeking redemption join Daisy’s team. These new faces bring fresh perspectives and skills to the table, showing that the new S.H.I.E.L.D. is a mix of old values and new blood.
Cliffhanger:
Daisy, having accepted her new role, assembles a team aboard a stealth aircraft. They set out on their first mission, with Daisy declaring, “We’re bringing S.H.I.E.L.D. back—not the way it was, but the way it should have been.”
Issue #2: Into the Serpent’s Lair
Synopsis:
Daisy and her team uncover a plot that ties back to Hydra’s roots—an underground network of cells regaining power and manipulating global events from the shadows.
Plot:
Infiltrating a high-security compound in Eastern Europe, Daisy’s team discovers a bioweapon engineered to target superhumans, capable of turning their powers against them. During their mission, they encounter Daredevil, who has been tracking a mysterious syndicate in New York City involved in smuggling advanced weaponry into the U.S. His investigation has led him across the globe to the same Hydra operation Daisy is targeting.
Daredevil’s inclusion adds moral complexity to the mission. Known for his vigilantism, Daredevil operates outside the law, creating tension between him and Maria Hill, who, despite bending rules, still believes in a structured approach. The collaboration forces Daisy to navigate the differing philosophies of justice between Hill and Daredevil.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: As she leads her team deeper into the enemy’s lair, Daisy’s leadership is tested. She must learn to balance the safety of her team with the mission’s importance. Her past with Hydra resurfaces, bringing back painful memories that threaten to cloud her judgment.
Daredevil (Matt Murdock): Matt is thrust into a world much larger than his usual battles in Hell’s Kitchen. He is forced to confront his own limits and the implications of the Hydra threat on a global scale. Working with S.H.I.E.L.D. puts him in unfamiliar territory, but it also presents an opportunity to make a difference beyond New York.
Maria Hill: The tension between Hill and Daredevil adds depth to the narrative, highlighting the differing philosophies between those who operate within a system and those who work outside it. Hill’s pragmatism clashes with Daredevil’s vigilante justice, but ultimately, they both recognize the value in each other’s methods.
Cliffhanger:
Daredevil uncovers a Hydra plan to deploy the bioweapon in New York City, specifically targeting areas where superhumans are known to operate. As he prepares to leave for New York to stop the threat, Daisy convinces him to stay and help them finish the job in Europe first, setting the stage for a high-stakes collaboration.
Issue #3: The Arrival of Serpentor
Synopsis:
A new villain emerges from the shadows: Serpentor, a figure with deep connections to Hydra’s ancient history. He is not just a physical threat, but a master manipulator with a dark agenda that could plunge the world into chaos.
Plot:
Serpentor, having gained control of Hydra’s remnants, is seeking to resurrect an ancient weapon with the power to subjugate entire nations. Daisy and her team, now including Daredevil, must navigate a labyrinth of deception and ancient secrets to stop him. Along the way, they face ancient defenses and Serpentor’s loyal followers, who are willing to die to see his vision realized.
Daredevil’s unique abilities — his heightened senses and combat skills — prove invaluable as they navigate the ancient defenses protecting the Hydra temple. The partnership between Daisy and Daredevil deepens, with each learning to appreciate the other’s perspective and methods.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: Daisy struggles with the knowledge that this new enemy is unlike any she’s faced before — one who blends modern science with ancient mysticism. She must adapt quickly, learning to trust her instincts and lead her team through increasingly perilous situations.
Daredevil: Working alongside S.H.I.E.L.D., Matt struggles with his role in this larger conflict. He is used to being the lone protector of Hell’s Kitchen, but now he must learn to rely on a team, balancing his own methods with the need for coordinated efforts.
Serpentor: Serpentor is revealed to be more than just a physical threat. He’s a master manipulator, sowing discord within Daisy’s team by playing on their fears and doubts. His presence forces Daisy to confront her own insecurities about leadership and her ability to protect those she cares about.
Cliffhanger:
Daisy and Daredevil discover a hidden Hydra temple where Serpentor is preparing the final ritual to activate the ancient weapon. To stop him, Daisy realizes she may have to sacrifice something — or someone — dear to her.
Issue #4: The Heart of Hydra
Synopsis:
In the final showdown, Daisy and her team must infiltrate the heart of Hydra’s operation to destroy the ancient weapon before Serpentor can unleash its power on the world.
Plot:
As they face their toughest challenge yet, Daisy and her team discover that Hydra has infiltrated several global governments, ensuring that their fight won’t end here. The stakes are higher than ever as Daisy makes difficult decisions that challenge her leadership and the unity of her team. Daredevil plays a crucial role in disabling the ancient weapon’s defenses, using his unique abilities to detect traps and ambushes that the others might miss.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: Daisy fully embraces her role as a leader, making difficult decisions that put her at odds with her team. Her journey comes full circle as she finally reconciles with her past and takes a definitive stand against Hydra.
Daredevil: Matt comes to terms with the fact that his fight against crime has expanded beyond the streets of New York. He realizes that his skills are just as valuable on a global stage, and he contemplates how he can balance his life as a vigilante with the broader responsibilities that come with working alongside S.H.I.E.L.D.
Maria Hill: Hill’s loyalty to Daisy is solidified as she realizes that Daisy’s idealism is exactly what S.H.I.E.L.D. needs. She becomes Daisy’s right hand, ensuring that the new S.H.I.E.L.D. stays true to its mission.
Cliffhanger:
The ancient weapon and Hydra facility are destroyed, but Serpentor escapes, leaving behind a chilling message scrawled on the wall of the temple: “This is just the beginning. The true Hydra never dies, and neither will the darkness you’ve unleashed.” The final panel shows Daisy and Daredevil standing amidst the ruins, the weight of the warning heavy on their minds, knowing that their battle is far from over.

for: donovan walsh @moody-money where: la mordedura, best table they have to offer
Giada pulled out all the usual stops for her meeting with Donavon Walsh, a meeting that had been set long before both Giada and Donavon had been made aware of it. It was standard protocol, really, a little wining and dining, something her father or any seasoned professional would have done. Best table in the restaurant, hand picked menu, exclusive wine selection, the list when on and on. Just like the words from Giada's previous encounter with Donovan. They seemed to go on and on, still buzzing around in her mind as she took a her seat at La Mordedura. Something tells me you like a good challenge. And Donavon Walsh was about to find out exactly just how much she did.
For Giada wasn't simply looking to collect on an old deal made years ago between old men, or merely pawn her precious baby sister off and be done with it. No — if she was going to foresee an archaic agreement go through then she was going to use it to her upmost advantage, to the Serpent's advantage, and to her sister’s. She wanted the Syndicate to pledge their support to them in this war —for she believed they were the key to all this— and ensure her sister's safety and happiness. Come hell or high water, Giada Rosalia D'Amiano was going to get what she wanted.
"Mr. Walsh," The councilwoman stood when he arrived, extending a hand to him like any business professional would do. "Thank you for joining me this evening. Please have a seat." She gestured towards the empty chair across from her, settling herself into her own, careful not to crease her custom Versace number. "I trust you already know why I asked you here this evening, however why don't we order some drinks first and make ourselves more comfortable."

closed starter: @wcvenwcb location: big brain tech
Secrets were second nature to Donovan. Despite his claims of being an open book, he kept much of himself hidden. It was his way of protecting what little he had left. Every time he let his guard down, it seemed like he was either abandoned or betrayed. So, he hoarded his secrets, even as he urged his crew to be transparent. But eventually, Donovan’s past caught up with him. A fresh-faced recruit, Iris, uncovered a significant one. No one knew about the secret alliance between the Serpents and the Syndicate. It had kept the gang safe, but at the cost of Donovan’s own freedom—his arranged marriage. With the war escalating and the deal looming closer, Donovan couldn’t delay the inevitable any longer. He went straight to Iris. “It’s happening,” he said, a heavy sense of dread settling over him. “I thought we could push it off, but they’re calling in the deal now.”

why has no one asked about Ylrith yet??? please tell us more about Ylrith
:3c
In all fairness, I don’t post about her that much. Mostly because I’m not currently working on any stories that directly involve her so she’s not in my brain as much. I LOVE her, I’m just more focused on the characters I work with more often lol
But basically: poly lesbian mob boss with a snake obsession
She’s the head honcho of a centuries-old crime syndicate called The Gray Order. Ylrith (il-rith) herself usually goes by “The Gray Matron”, but her enemies have given her a plethora of other, similarly sinister names. By now, the Order has connections all across Azeroth, in most any faction worth a damn. The opening up of Kalimdor to the rest of the world was one of the best things to happen to her.
The Order specializes in smuggling drugs, weapons, and other illicit items, but Ylrith will ferry war refugees to safer lands too, and other such things. All she wants is money and more people under her thumb — if you have the money, or are willing to do a favor for her, she’ll help you do what it is you want done. Her trademark phrase isn’t A favor for a favor, darling” for nothing. Of course, she’s a master of wordcraft, and often gets people to promise more than they think. She’s also got informants everywhere — brothels in the big cities, innkeepers, compromised city guards, and so on — and thus is master of blackmail. You go to her to discuss a deal, you say something she doesn’t like, and she’ll drop a detail about your life you thought no one else knew.
She also has an EXTENSIVE snake collection of species from all over Azeroth and even beyond. If we’re being realistic a lot of the money she makes goes into caring for them lmao she just really loves snakes <3 In fact I was leaning so hard into the snake thing I decided to just say she’s (the elf equivalent of) autistic because no neurotypical person could possibly be that into snakes KSBXBJD Which makes her my second autistic night elf, the first being Cathala 💜 Yet another win for lesbians.
The third key thing about her is the upper crust of the Order are all in a sapphic polycule. They use their powers of polyamory for evil (affectionate). Ylrith is also kind of(?) a “lesbian femme fatale type”. One of her favorite activities is fucking with the royalty of patriarchal cultures like humans by seducing the wives of powerful men and then helping them kill their husbands, the end result being Ylrith now has control over that piece of land at best, and that rich woman’s loyalty at worst. It’s enrichment for her.
Now for more art. This first one is her and her spymaster/favorite assassin/girlfriend Delphine Kaltel, a.k.a. The Serpent’s Fang. Originally Delphine had actually been hired to kill Ylrith but it was an enemies-to-lovers thing <3
This one’s her and her blue dragon girlfriend Tyalagosa, who’s sort of her “court” mage, I suppose:
(She has more gfs/people in the Order’s upper crust, those are just the only two I’ve named, designed, and drawn. One I have yet to draw is Evelyn Torvannas, another Nightborne. She’s the head of a fairly powerful merchant family in Suramar.]
One showing off her other tattoo:
And her voice claim :) (Morrigan from Dragon Age: Inquisition)
Plus this dumb meme that sums her up perfectly imo:
I also like to imagine she has the stupidest most cartoonish rivalry with Shaw lmao. She doesn’t see him as a threat whatsoever and loves toying with the funny little human man, while he fucking HATES her because she’s got her tendrils all up in the Alliance but always worms her way out of repercussions. WLW and MLM hostility.

Mr. President || A Ghost Rider Meeting
Zak holds a meeting to address the MC.
Timeline: the day after the gala
Two shots. That’s all it took for Seraphina to hit the floor. The screams from the alleyway still echo in Zak’s head, not as a haunting reminder, but as fuel. No. Ludovica’s desperate pleas fuel him. She did this to herself.
Without hesitation, Zak texted the crew: What a night. I'd like us all to meet tomorrow to touch base and get all on the same page. It was time to set things straight. He was done fighting his own people. They needed to grasp the gravity of the war they were entrenched in.
Zak paced in front of the meeting room, his boots echoing on the worn wood floor as prospects and older members began to file in. The room filled slowly, tension thick in the air. Only one person was missing. Zak didn’t wait, he knew she wouldn't show. The second the last chair scraped into place, he started.
“Seraphina Montgomery is dead.”
His words hit the room like a sledgehammer. Murmurs erupted, but Zak slammed his fist on the table, silencing them. “Enough.” He scanned the room, his glare sharp and unrelenting. “She betrayed every one of you. She stole from us. She mistreated her own people. She turned her back on this family.” He paused, letting the weight of his words settle. “Betrayers die. That’s the law.”
Zak’s eyes landed on Freddie, hard as steel. “Abandoners will die.” His tone dropped, cold and lethal. “Robbers will die.”
He turned his gaze to Oxana, softening just slightly. “Oxana will take over Seduction. I know working conditions have been shit. That changes now. We depend on the club’s income, but we’re not running a sweatshop. Oxana, make it profitable but make it right.”
His focus shifted back to the room, his voice cutting through the air. “We’re tightening up. No excuses, no defiance. When leadership gives you an order, you follow it. End of discussion.”
He stepped forward, driving his next point home. “Sunday dinners and meetings are mandatory. The holiday dinner with the Society is mandatory. Doing your damn job for the good of this club is mandatory. You know the exceptions. If you need one, you contact me. Directly.”
Zak took a breath, steadying his tone. “We’re at war, and it’s time you all started acting like it. Seraphina’s death was necessary. Her crimes demanded it. If anyone has a problem with that, you come to me, not each other.”
“The Syndicate has aligned with the Serpents through marriage. Cut all ties. The Crimsons are still on the fence, but if they side against us, they become enemies too. I don’t care who you’re screwing in your spare time. During this war, they are not friends. They are weaknesses waiting to be exploited. Don’t fool yourselves into thinking otherwise.”
Zak’s glare shifted back to Freddie, the room holding its breath. “We’ve all been through hardships, but toughen up. Be smart. Play this right, and this war won’t last forever. No one here wants it to.”
He let his words settle before continuing, softer but no less firm. “I know some of you don’t agree with the Society alliance. But let me remind you, while the Serpents laid waste to us, the Society helped save one of our own.” His voice sharpened. “Ask Jason who saved his life and who tried to end it.”
“Our loyalty is to the MC first. Everyone else comes second. That’s how we survive this war. That’s how we win. But it requires all of us working together. The infighting stops now. Trust that leadership has a plan.”
Zak’s tone shifted again, practical and urgent. “Security at all our establishments will be tightened. Watch each other’s backs. And instead of pointless arguments, start having real conversations. Support each other.” His voice softened for a moment. “Someone informs Brooklyn her absence will only be excused this once, she will need all of your support as well.”
“Change is coming, and we need to fight smarter and dirtier. We are the Ghost Riders. Let our enemies see us in their nightmares and feel us in their graves.”

i have MANY thoughts about the new sett skin so i'm gonna get into it ok
for reference here's the skin spotlight and the voice lines. and here's the skin bio for sett:
Radiant Serpent Sett: A descendant of the Ivory Serpent, Sett is an action movie star who uses his ancestral gifts to wow audiences and give his Ma the good life she deserves. When his hometown is threatened by a crime syndicate, it's time for Sett to play the hero real, too--but will his story star a fame-seeking hotshot, or a humble protector?
my first impression of the skin is that he's hot but like, when is that not the case. and WOW HIS MA IS THERE that's awesome good for her, howEVER. i think this skin is very much a case of 'good execution,' but not 'best execution.'
ive said this before but whenever i write or edit my writing i dont look at what's 'good' vs 'not good' i think about it in a 'this is good' vs 'this is better' way. so i look for the BEST fit. (this is definitely not always successful...)
that being said, the skin is.. FINE/GOOD, but not the BEST. not fine for the price point, obv, but the fact is that literally no virtual cosmetic will ever be worth 250+ usd so im not really gonna factor in price here. the splash is hot and and he's got his mam there which is nice, and he's got three different forms which is cool.
WRITING-WISE, i think the writing is.... not that good. i listened to all the voice lines and i understand that his vo can lean cheesy simply bc of his theme (action movie star) but like, there needs to be a balance and i dont think this vo really struck it. like being so cheesy here kinda ends up as a cop-out in order to not write actual good lines?? also it's a paltry amount of vo compared to jinx's exalted skin, only half as long, 9 minutes instead of 18, and i think he REALLY could've used more lines because he needs more to talk about? it's kinda weird because while the voicelines talking about his ma are cool,, it becomes kinda one note when the ONLY thing he talks about is his ma and like, being strong/protecting his village. It reads very much like 'cardboard cutout' not 'complex character' as you'd want him to be. they've flanderized him which is an utter DISSERVICE.
as a positive note though, i'm glad he didn't have a line with aphelios like I was expecting. not bc i utterly detest s*ttphel or anything, but i dont like the idea of riot constantly bowing to fanservice and i miss when they used to throw in random skinline relationships to stir the pot. AND sett has a line with high noon skins so i can imagine that as a talon interaction flksdjldf
my biggest problem however is with the theme. i think the theme itself is a miss. i understand the theming of him as a snake in LNY mythology, bc yeah he DOES fit. he goes from fire snake to water snake to gold snake and he does fit those traits.
so like, respect to making that fit, thats cool. HOWEVER. i just think the theme just isn't that good. Here's the bio for the skinline as a whole.
Radiant Serpent Sett is part of a skin line called Modern Mythos. Skin line bio: Myths and legends happened long ago, but their echoes are still felt to this day. Beneath the surface of the mundane world, mythical power uplifts a new generation of heroes.
This is totally fine in isolation, but in practice i think its so fucking messy. Sett is a fighter, he's also a movie star, he's also related to a folk hero (voice lines) he's also got the magical power of a serpent, he's also trying to save his hometown from a whole ass crime syndicate. we're throwing too many elements in here and we dont really... need them. so many league skinlines are about having that 'special power,' or being a chosen one like a power ranger. even sett already has obsidian dragon, where a dragon chooses him and bestows power on him. sett does perfectly well with skins where he's just a guy (pool party, heartsteel) he doesn't need eleventeen modifiers to make him interesting. he is ALREADY INTERESTING. (or he would be, if his voice lines didnt paint him so ONE NOTE and reduce him) i think if they just made him a movie star that'd be good enough. sometimes less is more. as it is, this skin thematic doesn't necessarily add anything new. he's already famous in heartsteel. he's already magic and chosen in obsidian dragon.
THAT BEING SAID i think a much better execution of a form changing skin for sett would have been an actual professional fighting skin (modern au), where the three forms are different costumes but at various stages in his career. one fit for when he's just starting out and maybe angrier, one where he's in the thick of it, and one where he's 'made it,' renowned as the best fighter on the circuit and fully providing for his ma. that would give more room for voice line variation and provide a story in itself within the forms, beginning middle and end, instead of the unfinished premise the current sett skin lays out. (radiant serpent sett keeps saying 'stay away from my town' or whatever but we dont know how its resolved or even really who's involved.)
ofc thats just my personal bias. the skin im suggesting also isn't 'crazy innovative' or anything, considering soul fighter and heartsteel still both exist with similar theming, but i think getting to see sett BEFORE he became the boss is a really cool concept for a line, and lends a lot to being a multiform skin.
anyway im out of words now i just really wanted to ramble about it bc to me its kinda a wasted opportunity, even if he's handsome and cool looking. :')
(although, i do find it funny that sett is just collecting animals in various skinlines. pls, talon next)
thanks if you read all this.

Hey you know that color hat with a fan on it boys wear like in cartoons? Does anyone knows where that trope came from and why? Is it from the 50’s or something?
The name “propeller-head” is used nowadays for a technophile, sometimes disparagingly, for an enthusiast of technology and (according to the Mirriam-Webster Dictionary) especially of computers. In images, the modern geek may be satirized with a cap having one or two toy propellers mounted to spin horizontally above the top of the hat.
So, was this flamboyant hat originated in the flower-powered hippie era of the 1960s? Well, no - decades earlier, in fact. It is generally accepted to have been first improvised in Cadillac, Michigan, using a beanie (a visorless cap) in 1947, made by Ray Faraday Nelson. It quickly became an icon for science fiction fans to identify themselves, and a national fad.
In a published interview1, Nelson described how “In the summer of 1947, I was holding a regional science fiction convention in my front room and it culminated with myself and some Michigan fans dressing up in some improvised costumes to take joke photographs, simulating the covers of science fiction magazines. The headgear which I designed for the space hero was the first propeller beanie. It was made out of pieces of plastic, bit of coat-hanger wire, some beads, a propeller from a model airplane, and staples to hold it together.” Shortly thereafter, it was worn by George Young of Detroit at a world convention, where it was an enormous hit.
Nelson thereafter frequently drew cartoons for fanzines portraying science fiction fans wearing propeller beanies. In 1948, Artist Guy Pène du Bois (1884-1958) painted a “Boy with a propeller beanie” hovering some feet up in the air above what looks like perhaps a sandy beach.
Shortly, it was further popularized by a television program, Time For Beany (video). The show was hugely popular with children, and even adults. The title character was a propeller beanie-wearing puppet named Beany whose sock-puppet friend called Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent was voiced and controlled by an unknown Stan Freeberg!) Starting in 1949, it ran five times a week for five years. It was hugely popular with children, and even some adults (including Albert Einstein, according to a Stan Freeberg reminiscence) (video). That idea of Bruce Sedley on KTLA in Los Angeles, California, was produced by Disney animator, Bob Clampett, who soon followed up with a syndicated, animated cartoon series of Beany and Cecil, in which Beany's propeller enabled him to fly (video).
Nelson went on to become a professional writer of novels and short stories. He made no profit from the fad of sales of beanie hats that followed from his idea.
In the summer of 1947, while still in high school, science fiction fanzine artist Ray Nelson, per his claim, invented the propeller beanie as part of a "space man" costume on a lark with some friends. He later drew it in his cartoons as emblematic shorthand for science fiction fandom. The hat became a fad, seen in media such as "Time for Beanie", and was sold widely by many manufacturers over the next decade.[11]
The propeller beanie increased in popular use through comics and eventually made its way onto the character of Beany Boy of Beany and Cecil. Today, computer savvy and other technically proficient people are sometimes pejoratively called propellerheads because of the one-time popularity of the propeller beanie.
In 1996, student hackers placed a giant propeller beanie on the Great Dome at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The scaled-up propeller rotated as the wind drove it like a windmill.
Propeller beanie drew laughs from Belgian workmen as they unpacked display shipments to show “How America Lives” for the U.S. exhibit at the Brussels Fair, as shown in Life magazine (31 Mar 1958). (source)
______________________________ there's a good amount of this I didn't know, the article at the top goes on further and further too if you're interested I just hit the opening point of who's claimed to have originated it and why, which the wiki article has too.
