he’s quite inconspicuous  

doesn’t talk very much and is quite shy with other students 

so no one really gets to know him well

if they did, they would find out how passionate he truly is as a new cupid

he spends most of his time sharpening his arrows or trying new potion recipes

he even concocts his own potions that have never been done before

he doesn’t have anyone to test them out on, so he has to be his own test subject

they’re usually ineffective despite his attempts at researching

when the potions go wrong, he goes missing from classes for days at a time

you’ve noticed yushi from the sidelines and became curious about his disappearances

you decide to become his friend to find out why

which is hard at first because he’s incredibly awkward and it takes a while to get comfortable with him

but, with persistence, you do 

he tells you about his potions, which you find fascinating 

and finally having someone who is genuinely interested in him and what he’s doing is the push yushi needs to gain some confidence

you become best friends and always hang around each other

eventually, you test out one of yushi’s new potions with him

and it goes a little wrong right

yushi is so used to his potions failing that he hadn’t expected this one to work quite so well

now he has to deal with his best friend utterly enamoured with him every second of the day

but maybe that isn’t such a bad thing

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how Nam-gyu hates women (which is fair), but I haven’t heard anyone mention that he basically hates everyone.

Out of everyone this man interacts with, the only characters he doesn’t directly insult are Thanos and Gyeong-su. But as soon as Thanos dies, he grumbles and talks shit about Thanos too (though I think part of him actually misses/cares about Thanos, but that’s a whole different story. He has a love/hate relationship with Thanos) and he mostly ignores Gyeong-su apart from laughing at him when Gyeong-su talks to Thanos for the first time.

He definitely hates Se-mi, but he also hates Myung-gi, Min-su, In-ho, and everyone who voted x. He’s such a hater and I live for it.

If I recall correctly, Se-mi is the only woman he interacts with and he hates her because she stands up to him and makes fun of his shaky hands. And that’s petty of him to hate her for that, but he’s petty! He hates people who challenge him or go against him in any way or people who point out his flaws because he seems to hate coming across as weak or not having any power.

Also maybe I’m taking this too seriously but can we not do the whole “he hates women so that makes him gay” thing? It’s totally fine to headcanon him as gay but the idea of misogyny defining being gay is just not it to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve had misogyny directed at me mostly by straight men and those experiences have been painful, so the implication of “teehee he’s a misogynist so that makes him gay” kinda feels invalidating and it feels kinda homophobic too.

What happens when a simp meets another simp.

Sanji's advances toward women were never really taken seriously or even paid attention to.

He mostly cooked and waited tables at the Baratie, occasionally kicking ass if needed to. One thing he wasn't expecting was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen – you– enter through the doors along with a green-haired man and another gorgeous orange-haired woman.

"Hello ladies, what would you like to order?"When he had smoothly delivered a pickup line to both you and Nami– much to Zoro's annoyance at not getting proper service– he expected the usual his advance ignored.

"Well, I'd order you but you aren't on the menu." You threw back. It wasn't intentional. You weren't that much of a flirt, only used to doing or saying something to challenge or fluster others occasionally.

When the waiter in front of you seemed to have frozen on the spot and then smirked you were left with two words on your mind 'oh shit'.

Fast forward to the same man being in your crew, serving you guys the most delectable meals and kicking ass you were ready to give up on having a peaceful life.

Though he sent all his simpery to Robin and Nami he left you out of the loop. At first you didn't mind but overtime you questioned his actions. Wondering if he didn't try to flirt with you because of the first time you met or maybe he didn't think you were beautiful. Then you looked in the mirror and realised it must have been some other reason cause you knew you were drop dead gorgeous.

You weren't being vain, you knew you were pretty because you were told so by Apis when the crew helped her with Grandpa Ryu. Kids never lie about such matters.

Unbeknownst to you, Sanji didn't treat you the same because he knew that he wouldn't be able to save himself from loving you and confessing.

Your eyes, your voice, the grace in which you would do things. Even when you were being a menace to society. All of those he loved. You'd think he couldn't simp enough till he saw you not look glamorous and just chose to where baggy clothes. Not gonna lie he'd think you were gorgeous in a chicken costume, you never know with this man

As much as he was too shy to approach you he wasn't afraid yelling at Zoro to stop being so close to you.

You were close friends with Zoro. It couldn't be helped if you were the weapons expert, always checking if cannons were clear, swords were sharp and helping with new inventions with Franky.

So instead of noodle dancing around you he did the little things. Checking everything that he cooks didn't have anything you were allergic to. Always making sure you had a little lunch bag whenever everyone left to explore the island. Giving you extra cupcakes or other baked goods of you ever want more.

If you're a picky eater, he'd make sure to make your food according to your taste. Leaving multiple options on the dinner table for your palate.

He also made sure not to be away from your side too long. Wherever you turn you'd find a swirly-browed cook casually wrapping an arm round you to stave off any threats.

When you get sick he'd be calling in Chopper for any problem you would even slightly complain about. He'd be beside you 24/7 like you were dying or something. Which is kinda sweet but he was needed in the kitchen.

Overtime it just became normal for all this to happen. You got used to it. In fact I think y'all would be the kinda couple that just happened but then later confessed your undying love for each other.

To top it off, you were his number one supporter. Everytime you caught a glimpse of him fighting you'd cheer like you saw a celebrity. Some would swear that his behaviour rubbed off on you because you were also cheering and doing a noodle dance whenever he wore a different suit or set of clothes.

"YOU'RE DOING GREAT, SANJI-DARLING!" – 😍

But sometimes there were some downs in the relationship, for example his smoking.

You'd worry over him whenever he pulled out a cigarette one after the other in a day. Which led to you talking to him about it.

"If you don't atleast limit your smoking, you might as well be Black-lung Sanji."

He was a bit flabbergasted with the statement but he got what you meant.

Or if you had terrible coughs in reaction to his smoking he would try to smoke at a distance so he wouldn't and I quote, "Damage your gorgeous lungs"

As we all know Sanji, he didn't like women fighting too much or getting hurt but you immediately shut him down on that one, saying that as much as some of his morals were so gentlemanly and some old fashioned he had to accept that you wanted to fight. You wanted to help Luffy become king of the pirates. You wanted to be able reach your dream. So that needed you to be strong. That needed you to fight.

Since then he just aimed to be able to support you in any event that you needed help but he wouldn't be overbearing.

Would allow only you near the kitchen if you wanted to cook or bake something and you would allow only him near your forge/ workspace if he wanted to be near you.

Unfortunately for him you had connections wherever you went so you found out about his life in Peachy Island and never let him rest about it for a while.

And before anyone says anything about Fishman Island Sanji. Let's just say you were besties with Zoro there. Much to the cook's dismay.

"Stop being around that mosshead, Love."

"Stop losing blood around mermaids, Sweetheart."

Long story short, y'all were a confusing couple around that time. In fact, once he saw you were hanging out with the swordsman he would butt heads with the man. Leading you to pull him away before anything crazy happened.

Most times you told him to sit down and let you cook for the crew, especially if he was injured. He wouldn't allow it on account of Luffy's stomach being a literal black hole but you'd convince him otherwise.

When y'all fought together it was sure to leave the enemy in broken bones, hopes and dreams.

With Sanji kicking them away with his special moves and you pulling out a large cannon from the bag you carry around ( which was comically small but it was your magical inventory), nothing could stop you two. Sometime you'd trade opponents if he found himself fighting a woman.

Sometimes you helped him clean up after meals. Making sure that he didn't get all the work.

Most times he'd sit with you beneath the blanket of stars, his head on you chest/belly and you'd both share secrets about yourselves.

All in all, Sanji would love you to infinity and you'd love him just as much.

The older boy was sprawled lazily across a couch, legs hanging over the side, while the other boy perched on the edge, engrossed in a book.

Then James Potter burst in, decked out in a red robe that looked like it had been pilfered from Professor Slughorn’s wardrobe, a fake beard askew on his face, and a lumpy sack slung over his shoulder.

“Ho, ho, ho!” James bellowed, voice slightly muffled by the crooked beard.

Remus looked up from his book. “What on earth-?”

“I am Father Christmas!” James declared, waving a hand. “Come to spread holiday cheer and… uh�� love!”

It was obvious to everyone that this arc would involve Chihiro learning about the unpleasant sides of his dad's legacy. So this is just a "hey don't forget" moment for us that also highlights how far removed Hiruhiko and Chihiro are from regular society. Those two (and Hakuri) should be in their last year of high school, complaining about homework or stressing about their future college/job plans right now instead of fighting to the death. Poor guys.

I don't want to presume too much about Hokazono-sensei's views, but I really like directly acknowledging that winners write history and so their wartime cruelty is often downplayed or re-framed as heroism. These kids and even Chihiro only know the revised version of what happened, not the truth of the matter.

Home schooled Chihiro confirmed! Kinda!

Anyway, some more John Plan Reveal. He wants Chihiro to learn the truth about his father's legacy and the impact it's had- that's why he hasn't been "harvested" yet. This implies that there's some terrible thing that could upend Chihiro's entire worldview to be learned. But we kind of already knew that based on everything I just said.

I hope this isn't a flag for John trying to convince Chihiro to join him. There are awful secrets that are going to be unearthed about Kunishige and the Kamunabi this arc for sure, but it's kind of a waste of our time to do the "oooh it was worse than you thought why don't you join us to set things right" rigamarole.

Obviously the Hishaku have some compelling reasons to do all this if they can get someone as loath to kill as Samura on their side to murk his war buddies. It's just never gonna convince Chihiro so I hope we don't get a moralizing yapfest to accompany John's outstretched hand. I trust the writing though! So far it's been almost nothing but excellence so... chill, me. Just wait and see.

I think that no matter what happens Chihiro will continue to forge his own path with allies who care for him at his side. He won't choose the government's path, or the Hishaku's, or even his dad's- he'll create something new. Standard stuff for a shounen series but I never get tired of seeing it!

Before moving on to the coping session, there's something neat in this scene that I want to ramble about:

I'll use the JP version if I have to, but I like how Chihiro's inner monologue deliberately overruns Hiruhiko's speech bubble to show that he's not paying full attention while his thoughts are in overdrive. He's still partially listening but he's not quite as composed as he appears to be on the outside, which is confirmed by the close-up zoom into his stressed look with the sweat drops. Yet when we zoom out, he seems a bit more put-together like usual. He's still exhausted from yesterday, man! Really should have rested up... at least the author acknowledges it. (Forced bed rest soon? Hopefully?)

This is how Hiruhiko was able to get the drop on Chihiro. Chihiro's got a lot on his mind and he has trouble focusing, just like Uruha chided him for on the train. His resolve is unshaken but he's still prone to wavering in the moment as he tries to process things. He even misses the fist time Samura's name was mentioned! Clearly Chihiro needs Hakuri or Uruha or someone there to yell encouragement at the right time to stop him from getting lost in his own head. But he's got a lot to think about and work through right now, so it's understandable why he's so stressed out.

Poor Chihiro. He's coming to the conclusions that we, the readers privileged with having weeks IRL to ponder new information, came to long ago. The Master is not treated like a hero but a prisoner, and probably for very, very good reasons. Ones good enough to convince Samura to make a deal with the devil.

What Actually Happened?!

Not all the blades have themes from nature, it seems. Geisha offered many different types of entertainment to guests, from performing music to conversation to serving sake. So now we have the idea behind the name [Swaying Sake]!

First up to delay just a little longer: Kumeyuri power reveal! Seems to be based in some kind of performing arts aesthetic with the geisha that were conjured. Fitting for the guy who wears kabuki eye make-up right? ...And for the next bearer, who interrupted a kabuki performance to pick it up in a theater... I see you and your foreshadowing, Hokazono-sensei.

Fine. I'll admit it. The ending of the chapter makes it crystal clear that Hiruhiko is the new bearer contracted to Kumeyuri by having his origami butterflies come undone as he grasps the hilt in his teeth. Can't even hope it's another case of someone "borrowing" power like Kyora did with the Shinuchi of the bunch.

Magatsumi's the only blade that can be used by someone not contracted to it, hence the extra protections it needed.

So that means... yeah. Uruha's gone. Just like that.

There will be thousands of theories about what exactly happened to Uruha, why Samura made a deal with John, what the details of that deal were- we'll get the truth soon. I'm most interested in the reasoning that ties into Samura's sincere beliefs of killing being an evil act.

The burden of death weighs so heavily on him that he blinded himself in penance. But he's willing to let his own apprentice die -probably even kill him himself!- because of... what? What was so horrible about fighting with the Master and Kunishige's weapons for the good of the nation? What compelled him to help the Hishaku kill the remaining bearers and upend the peace they earned?!

Hey, Samura. Is it really so bad to be called a war hero while being treated like a prisoner in a comfortable government-provided jail facility? Is it so horrible that "alternative facts" pass for real history to bury whatever horrors you witnessed and possibly perpetrated? Is it truly awful to have people willing to die for you despite all the grave sins you've committed? That they're likely completely unaware of thanks to government propaganda and being too young to have witnessed the truth?

...I need those Seitei War flashbacks pronto.

Wait a minute. Jail? Even the friggin' onsen?

Yup! The Master's the only one being treated like a dangerous criminal outright, but the 慚箱 [sanso] are just dressed up prisons for the Bearers. The Kamunabi ain't even subtle about it.

慚 [san] - to feel shame 箱 [sou] - box

The government put these guys in specially-constructed (or repurposed) buildings officially referred to as "shame boxes" and told them they couldn't leave. Even the name given to one of them is a bit much! 国獄温泉 [Kokugoku Onsen] translates to:

国 [koku]- country/state/national government 獄 [goku]- jail/prison 温泉 [onsen] - hot spring

Gee, I wonder if Uruha was having a good time at State Prison Hot Springs?

That said, while there may well be some bitterness between the Bearers and the Kamunabi, it's not the main motivating factor for Samura. His is definitely rooted in how they all acted during the war and how guilty he feels now that they're promoted as heroes.

It looks like Chihiro's being summoned by Hakuri in the very last panel so we might get some perspective on Samura's reasoning next week. Probably no clear answers right away, but at least enough to see if he really was the one who killed Uruha and a bit of insight into why. And to see if Uruha's dead at all... I mean, if we don't see a body... let me be delusional, okay?!

I'm just not able to go all-in on believing Uruha's dead. But it's not because I don't think he actually is... it just doesn't feel real after spending weeks preparing to let go of Samura. Not to mention the tried-and-true tactic of baiting out strong emotions with implied character deaths.

Normally I don't take death foreshadowing like this too seriously in shounen series. I just wait to see if the author is faking me out or not before getting stressed (unless it's Hakuri, in which case I stress responsibly). But Kagurabachi is a series that lured the MC with a child's severed leg and showed two suicide attempts on-screen, one of which was horrifically successful- right in front of someone who was already traumatized too. Hell we lost most of the anti-Kuregumo squad without much fanfare back in the Sojo arc! Only actually showing a child being tortured on-screen is too much, apparently. This series is dark as hell when the author wants it to be and Uruha's death is probably another one of those times.

There's hope in me that Uruha can still come out of this alive just because I like him so much, but I want the author to follow through on his death when it's presented as such an ominously real scenario. All signs point to Uruha being a goner, so don't make it look iron-clad then say "nah" the next chapter with some technicality that we couldn't have known about until the reveal. I would rather lose Uruha in an unexpectedly painful way than be faked out just to get the reaction out of me, y'know? Don't toy with me. Commit to crushing my heart, dammit.

But, God... oh man. I fell for the bait and got stupidly attached to a Bearer in the arc named after killing them. I even knew bad times were coming because of all the levity at the start of the arc but still went on hoping nothing would happen so soon. Laugh at me, I deserve it. I probably helped this manifest by mentioning how awful it would be if Chihiro found out a Bearer died because Hiruhiko was able to contract with one of the blades. Saying "I crave the angst that will come from this situation with every fiber of my being" in a post tag was overkill. It's just:

Coping Theory

May as well put my two cents in on how it could have gone down while I'm here...

I wonder if he planned to die in the raid instead so it looked like an unavoidable accident, sparing everyone else from the carnage.

This exact sequence- the Makizumi talking about honor in death for saving Samura, and Uruha's words that the Bearer's lives need to be valued above others'- is what solidifies Samura's resolve. This man is filled to the brim with guilt and self-loathing (much like another swordsman we know). He cannot save himself, but... perhaps he can take some equally bad sinners down with him for the greater good. He's not only a mirror for Hakuri, but Chihiro as well- one's resolve to save no matter the cost to one's self, and one's resolve to go to hell for what they believe is right. That's how I'm reading this until we get his own insight on the matter, at least.

It's not a stretch to infer that Samura thinks the Bearers are better off dead in large part due to the powers they command and things that were done during the war. That's still a huge mystery to be unraveled but I mean:

Seeing the bare minimum of Magatsumi in action really drives home how horrific these "heroes" could seem out on the battle field doesn't it? No wonder the clone sorcerer described the Seitei war as "hell on earth". But the public has no knowledge of this. They only got the sanitized version fit for PR purposes and feel-good stories.

The Hishaku seem to be intent on dismantling this image. Perhaps that's how they got Samura on their side? Not sure how the current Bearers dying and giving the Hishaku access to that dreadful power is better than the status quo, but that's something that will become clear with more reveals about the ideology driving the group. Maybe Samura doesn't care so much about the rest of the world and just wants to do what's best for the truth that's been buried under nearly two decade's worth of secrecy.

As to what happened with Uruha... two things come to mind. One I think is more likely, and one I want to cling to until it's ripped away as I sob and beg for just one little bit of comfort.

Most likely, I think Samura and Uruha had an exchange about ideals and the value of their lives. Samura overpowered Uruha per the plan as the "trump card" and that was that.

In delulu land, I want Samura to have been double-crossed. As in he made a deal on the condition that the lives of the people he cared about would be spared, but of course Uruha couldn't be allowed to live. So the Hishaku ensured that he'd die there no matter what. It's a bunk theory since Mr. Hatshaku left once the situation turned against him... maybe incorporate some of the datenseki mind control stuff in there somehow? I don't know. Just let me have this until canon proves otherwise.

Hakuri and Chihiro, Though?! And Miscellaneous Questions

(Ch. 46) I'm not going to be okay for a while and neither are they.

Best boys are really gonna go through it no matter what Chihiro is summoned back to. They'll be in a rough way... not only did they lose Uruha and hand Kumeyuri to Hiruhiko, but Samura betrayed them all... oof. So much for proving themselves to the Kamunabi. They're going to get an earful and be set back in the "negotiations" big time.

No doubt Chihiro will put this burden on his shoulders too, even if no one could have predicted Samura's defection to the enemy. It's his dad's legacy that's causing all this strife right now. He'll be more motivated than ever to unravel the war's true history and I'll be right there with him hoping he doesn't push himself too hard or harshly. The son shouldn't be responsible for the sins his father committed before he was even born. But that's just like, my opinion, man.

Meanwhile...

"I'm still good for it," wheezes the guy with blood gushing out of his nose at an alarming rate.

Hakuri will probably blame himself too. Depending on how things shake out, it could be for anything from accidentally arming a traitor to seeing someone die in front of him again. There's a good chance he'll (temporarily) lose the thing that makes him useful too, so that'll be an extra layer of angst for him to deal with. What value does a broken tool that couldn't fulfill it's one purpose have?

I also wonder what prompted Hakuri to summon Chihiro away from Hiruhiko. He's kind of in rough shape to do it just 'cause he misses his (boy)friend. They have cell phones to communicate with so it seems a bit abrupt to summon him back without checking first. Hakuri's also not the type to impose on someone to protect him. Nor is he the type to drop Chihiro into the middle of a life-or-death situation without a sense of mutual understanding first. So there had to be some kind of pressing need. The timeline of events means he's summoning Chihiro right after Uruha was killed, so... more soulmate stuff maybe? Their souls call out to each other and resonate when they're in distress, after all (it's canon baybeeeeee). They're in perfect harmony and all that. Sorry for the shipping nonsense I just need any bit of fluff I can get right now.

So many questions that might not get answered...

What about the Makizumi? Will they defect to serve Samura? Or will they try to help get Hakuri to safety with the Kamunabi? Samura doesn't want to kill them at all so no matter what happens they'll live at least. Hooray an elite squad that didn't bite the dust... (I think they will choose Samura because of everything he did for them).

How did Hiruhiko know when Kumeyuri was usable anyway?! Was it some signal from his mystery supporter that was lurking outside the window? And who was that- did Worst Jeanist show up?

Samura's loath to kill innocents, but does Hakuri count as one? Would losing his sorcery be enough to count him as neutralized for the Hishaku's purposes? Was exhausting Hakuri the main reason why Hiruhiko sent all the forces to the temple in the first place?

Hiruhiko wasn't surprised to see Tobimune disappear, so the Hishaku probably know about Hakuri's power. Their mole within the Kamunabi should get a bonus for the turnaround time on learning that bit of info and sending it on. Unless John's playing 5D chess and knew about Hakuri's awakening and team-up with Chihiro before they even met the Kamunabi anyway... perhaps even orchestrated it too... that would definitely need a very good explanation.

Alright. Okay. Let's wait on tenterhooks together, dear void. No waterworks until they show the body, got it?

Calmest Reader In Society | Yandere V For Vendetta

This is my first post. Hopefully it's written well enough.

Warnings: V being a menace to society. Just mentions of killing and abduction.

• There was something about you that made his heart skip a beat. Something about you that made him hear his heartbeat through his ears. It reverberates through his entire mind every time he sees and stalks you, whether you know it or not.

• Originally, he didn't know what he was feeling. More as if he thought he didn't have enough room for this feeling, considering how stacked in schedule he already was. However, you changed his schedule somewhat.

• In his time of stalking you, he figured out just precisely who you were in society. He figured out details about you. He figured out those that like you, those that dislike you, and any in between, even.

• He didn't know why he was doing it. But his heart yearned for you. It pulsed faster for you, and pulsed more intensely than before, even if not concentrated enough to harm him.

• It started to get worse as well, especially when he started to remove those that disliked you from this world. If he so much as knew that someone was sending rude looks your way, they might as well be left with a warning or a cruel fate.

• He takes his role of protecting you quite seriously, and if he ever failed in it, he felt as if he would never forgive himself in such.

• This earned you a somewhat bad reputation with those around you. But it didn't exactly seem to deter you. Instead, you kept working and kept doing your part without paying attention to what others were saying about you.

• "Ignorance is bliss" or so they say...

• Your exterior was always seemed as unapproachable. For some reason, you never broke your blank expression. You never broke your silence. Not many have heard your voice. No one has ever seen you smile. You were only... blank.

• Even so, you had friends of your own. Those that had gotten rather close to you, even if it wasn't in a romantic sense.

• He understood that they weren't anything to be worried about unless if he made things obvious when he finally put his plan to fruition.

• So that's why when enough time had passed, he finally had to meet you in the darkest of alleys with intent to keep you without any trace of where you went. Even if he knew you may not understand, he knew what he wanted, and he would be sure to enact this decision.

• You had gotten caught walking into an alley by a trio of Fingermen. And this was his precise chance. He immediately slipped in to get rid of the men that had disturbed you.

• And even after, he saw your blank expression through the dim light the moon provided. You never gave any indication or hint that you had given emotion during the time of disturbance or murder that took place right in front of you.

• Even then, you gave him soft words of gratitude, even if you never broke your completely calm exterior.

• This was it. He could finally interact with you.

• He introduced himself as V.

• You listened to his every word in silence and watched as he cut up a Government poster on the wall. To you, he seemed like a somewhat different Anarchist. And honestly, it gave you slight interest, even if you never showed it.

• This masked man was a gentleman filled with anger. Simply put, you never wanted to get involved with the one thing his anger was aimed towards. Luckily you weren't, but were just unfortunate to catch the eye of the man that would later become a hazard to the government.

• You introduced yourself as well, hearing him speak of how he knew your name already, as well as everything about you. Surely, nothing was a coincidence. Everything here was due to perfect alignment.

• Very understandably, you had no idea what he was talking about, even if you shook his gloved hand. He seemed to hold onto it more than necessary though, so you looked down at his grip.

• It was soft yet firm. A gentleman's hold, but somewhat twisted with a firm grip that didn't want you to pull away.

• So you kept listening while letting him hold your hand, even if it was a little odd. Eventually, time passed before you requested for him to let go so you could return home.

• And that's when it twisted to something you didn't want.

• The only thing he could do was abduct you and take you to a place he knew you'd be safest. With him and his own abode. He knew you'd catch the eye of the government with how much you've been stalked and how much you've been on his list to do... something with, in their eyes.

• He knew you would be at least slightly confused, and even expected you to want to escape. But you adjusted to your situation without complaint, but questions. You even didn't seem to mind him when he tried advances on you. Yet, that could just be you being oblivious.

• You never broke that expression of blankness, and you never broke your exterior of extreme calmness.

• If he got you a gift, you'd either hold it with extreme care or stare at it in silence with the blankest expression. But, your way is simply thanking him for it was admiring it, even with your own blank and silent exterior.

• You were gentle, even if you looked unapproachable.

• If you wanted to go out for something, it only took him one attempt to usher you back and tell him what you wanted or needed. He would get it for you. He would get anything for you.

• But if you wanted fresh air, potentially no chance.

• If you didn't accept his feelings, even with what he's done, he'd understand. After all, no one would just trust a masked man that tried to get them to fall for him. But he still wanted to try.

• Perhaps drastic measures would be in order if you still don't get wooed by him by then.

• But if you are charmed, even in the slightest way, he would be ecstatic. If you felt a heat on your face even once with how he did something with you, he'd know. And he'd be euphoric.

• Somewhat, he's breaking down your exterior more than your own friends ever could.

• He even started to break down some of his walls as well, bringing up tiny bits of his past. He knew you wouldn't mind being told anything, but he didn't know if you'd be okay seeing what he truly looked like.

• You may be entirely blank in expression alone, but you're still Human. You're still a person with emotions. What would you feel if you saw what his hands looked like? What of his face? What of his entire body? Would you judge him for it? Would you feel disgusted by it? Would you want to leave him and the Shadow Gallery for it?

• This always made him hesitate with showing himself to you. You only saw his singed hands once, and that was when he was cooking. He rushed to put his gloves on right away, and apologized for if he fouled your appetite. You only shook your head while you walked to the table.

• Once again, nothing about you showed the breaking of your character.

• It both relieved and made him hesitate even more. Did you not see or notice it? No, you definitely did. You may not look as if you didn't care for it, but you definitely noticed it?

• His hesitation is noticeable to you whenever he's thinking about ways to approach you more. So, you finally decided to approach him in your own way.

• When you snapped him out of his thinking with a simple and gentle tap to the shoulder while asking if he was alright, he replied with a nod and the natural words of how he was fine. When you asked if he was sure, he felt as if his heart was going to speed up more.

• This was a chance to find things out. This was a chance for him to actually be able to do something.

• So, he laid his insecurities down once, and showed you what his hands looked like again. He questioned you if you felt distaste. Anything of disgust just by seeing it while saying what happened to him.

• And yet, no reflection of such an emotion laid in your eyes. Instead, there only laid small sympathy. You seemed to want to do something, but instead, you restrained yourself and spoke of how you felt no disgust for a sight like that.

• He could only shudder when you left him to himself.

• Eventually the time came of where you finally broke your character. Time had passed since he first abducted you, and since you two actually started to connect with each other. For once, you finally smiled. No matter how faint it was and how quick it was to disappear, he noticed.

• V has noticed everything about you. Every change and every stagnant thing about you. He noticed anything just to be on that side of you. Your unapproachable but gentle nature was finally crackling from his advances, and he couldn't be more happy to see it.

• So the fact that you smiled at him.

• His heart immediately sped up. He's been keeping it in his mind ever since he saw it. And it's been bothering him for a while. Not in a bad way, naturally, but his feelings were getting in the way again.

• Ever since you said you never felt disgust for the sight of him, and ever since you smiled at him for the first time, it's been occupying his mind so much that he couldn't focus on his true goal.

• You've been occupying every detail of his mind.

• So, he finally decided to ask you something to determine whether he could focus or not. He questioned your feelings for him.

• Depending on your answer, he'll confess, or he'll retract what he'd say for later so he can finally work.

• If your feelings revolved around love, he'd visibly let out a slightly relieved sigh.

• But if your feelings revolved around to that of a friend, his mental disappointment would be immeasurable.

• But considering we'll be focused on the fluff, we'll be looking on the side of you liking him back.

• He's always thought of himself as unlovable. He's always had the thought that even if he loved, that the one he felt such infatuation with would never reciprocate his feelings.

• So to have you with him, and to have you accept him, even despite what he's done (whether you know or his actions for you or not), has him stunned.

• But he's glad. He wouldn't have things any other way. If you never existed, he was sure he would have done things just fine without you. But having you was something he would have wanted.

• Seeing as how he thought he was someone that was incapable of being loved, he's touch starved. He doesn't exactly get hugged into your chest very often, but if he does get that treatment, he'd lovingly listen to your heartbeat.

• Hearing the gentle thumps of your heart against his ear, whether masked or not, is still music to his ears.

• Speaking of that mask, he still has yet to show you his face. He may have shown you his hands, and may know you're entirely fine with how he looks, he's still insecure about how he looks.

• And to have someone as silent or as blank as you somewhat has him reconsidering your reaction. He might overthink, but eventually, he does realize that you're genuine with how you are.

• This helped him reveal his face to you.

• His love for you could only skyrocket when he knew you didn't mind his face. Even with how burned or singed he was, the fact still remained that your love was fortunate enough to be blessed upon him.

• Somewhat, he wondered that if things were up to coincidence, what were the chances that you would appear in his life again?

• But now, he didn't mind it at all.

• The one who kept his heart beating was here, even if they were... sometimes intimidating with their blank reactions.

After today’s episode, I feel … so bad for Bitter Gavv ya’ll. He’s NOT so much an evil clone of Shouma but more a misguided child of a shitty parent.

I don’t know exactly how long the intention is for Bitter Gavv to stay in the story but after today’s episode, a part of me wants him to stick around long enough for him to AT LEAST be won over by Shouma and adopted into his growing circle of friends/surrogate family or even more, a brother.

Imagine Shouma adopting his bitter twin as his little brother and even giving him his own name instead of just calling Bitter Gavv.

I know the likelihood of that happening is slim. I know we are more likely to see Bitter Gavv just axed in the long run.

But knowing how much Gavv kind of likes to tug at the characters’ heartstrings, it would not surprise me one bit if the moment Bitter Gavv is finally accepted into Shouma’s newfound Hapibare Family in the Human World after finally taming him and bringing them to their side is the exact moment, he will die.

But beyond that, ya’ll see the vision that I’m seeing right?

Bitter Shouma is no different that a spoil delinquent child being raised by a “bad parent”.

He has no guidence.

All his “parent” makes him do is run around all day and be a literal menace to society all while feeding him nothing but junk food.

Yeah n*gga, you couldn’t teach your “son” to eat with a spoon and fork? To the Sugar Doctor’s credit, at least he FEEDS Bitter Gavv. But obviously him feeding him has less to do with caring about his actual well being.

But like I said, Bitter Gavv has no guidance. No manners. No social skills other than the initiative his “parent” gave him to do which was basically go out and eat everything, no matter how you get it, until you unlock new powers.

This is NOT a villain ya’ll.

This is a spoiled brat of a child that needs proper love and discipline.

If Shouma thought that his childhood growing up in the Granute World with his captive mother was bad; just look at Bitter Gavv!

At least, Shouma had his mom to look after him, show him some love and teach him not to be a menace to others. Bitter Shouma, on the other hand, is just an experiment to the Sugar Doctor. He probably doesn’t even care that much about him as a living thing and probably just sees him as another means to obtaining whatever goal he’s after. Bitter Shouma is just another pawn for the Sugar Doctor.

All this proves to me is the Sugar Doctor is a shitty father.

Ultimate organism, my ass! A man curiously researching as he pleases, my ass! Sir come get your kid!

But in all seriousness though.

What if… Bitter Shouma notices the way Shouma is loved by those around him and instead of wanting more food to get more powers, he starts to crave what Shouma has. Friends. Love. Companionship.

If Bitter Shouma sticks around for more episodes to have his own sort of arc then I’m not sure if I’m ready to watch a story about an evil experiment born to cause mayham who learns the importance of love and family.

Bruh, Bitter Shouma is basically Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

Could you do—Garten of Banban Characters reacting to WereGator!Reader going through the games events to find their nieces? (Same principle as a Werewolf, just with them being able to turn into an alligator. They can semi-shift sharper claws or more menacing eyes.)

Monsters are secretly intermingled with normal society. They just tend to stay out of sight or hide their otherness to blend in. Cause humans are crazy population wise to them, seriously eight billion?! No lone species wants to get that many humans ticked off/scared of them. Reader was really wary of letting their sister-in-law leave her daughters at the daycare. Sure, it catered to monster kids but something was always a bit off… Weregators have strong nurturing instincts when it comes to their or any family member’s kids. The worry was just brushed away as that being in overdrive…

Reader goes through the various puzzles a bit aggressively (never destroying anything outright but Banban can see them barely controlling their strength/shifts).

Banban

You had your suspicions about letting your nieces get dropped off at the kindergarten during "Bring-A-Friend Day".

Your sister-in-law didn't see the problem. Sure, the place was apparently creating living, breathing mascots and likely violating all moral/ethical codes in doing so...but she thought it was fine.

Lab-bred monsters interacting with the natural monsterkind living quietly in the outside world? Surely nothing could go wrong...

Until it did and you found yourself going to this place to find your two nieces.

They weren't even your own children, though as a weregator your nurturing instincts went into overdrive the moment you heard of their disappearance.

And it's for that reason you'd be....quite aggressive and direct in how you solved the strange puzzles throughout the facility.

Nothing pissed you off more than the drone--as sometimes it refused to cooperate.

You came close to smashing the controller numerous times.

You meet Banban after he tries knocking you out, but he's stunned when you barely flinch and tackle him, eyes turning reptilian, alligator claws growing on your hands, and patches of your skin turning to scales.

And you growl angrily, threatening his very existence.

But since he shares Untham's fascination with monsterkind, he just stares at you like you're some spectacle, totally fearless.

"My, what big claws you have....sorry, bad joke-"

"Shut it, "Banban"." You snarl. "Where are my nieces?! I swear if you did anything to them-"

"I've done nothing to them. In fact, I feel terrible about what's been going on here. And that's why I want to help you find them."

"You do..?" You blink. "Then why did you attack me?"

"It's hard to explain. Sometimes I lose control over myself...I truly am sorry about that. Now could you let me go? I think doing that will benefit both of us."

"...how?"

"I promise I'll help you the whole way. Believe me, I've tried helping others before you, but...they were humans. Held back by fear and lack of physical endurance. You, however, stand a chance. But you'll need some guidance. This place is huge, after all."

You were surprised by his offer, albeit cautious of his intentions.

In the end, you let him go as killing him wasn't gonna bring you anywhere closer to your nieces.

He oversees your journey and helps where he can, although he cringes when you damn near shatter the glass panels when solving certain puzzles or fully shift into your gator form when you're trying to fight of Nabnab....

Or when Banban turns into his "hellish" form and tries attacking you, with you leaving some pretty deep scratches on his skin.

Once he snaps out of it, he's like "omg you're just like me fr, we both have trouble taming the beasts within ourselves-"

You take full offense to that and remind him that you're both nothing alike.

Opila Bird Up

She basically fucked around and found out when she first confronted you.

Her screeches of intimidation turned to shrieks of fear the second you shifted into your gator form, causing her to stumble and fall into the abyss where the ball pit once was.

So for the most part..she left you alone after that.

Even Banban was impressed.

When you put her babies back into their nest, she's at first terrified that you were going to eat them....yet you had no intentions of doing so as you calmly greet her before leaving.

Even though she's been aggressive and instigated your transformation in the first place, you saw her younglings as you would your own.

You'd never think to harm them even though everything here so far has tried to harm you.

And soon a shaky alliance was formed, but only because you two shared the common instinct to protect your kin.

The turning point was when you saved Tarta and Opila from being crushed by Jumbo Josh--you literally held up his fist in your gator form so the couple could flee the fight.

Even he was shocked

That's when Opila knew you were someone who could be trusted to the fullest.

Ya'll know how some species of wading birds have gators as their "bodyguards"?

This is where you and her family are at right now. You'll fight tooth and nail to defend them.

She trusts you with her chicks and knows they're in good hands (or claws, rather).

Your end goal was still finding your nieces, but you'll save whatever children you could along the way. Human or monster or both.

Banbaleena

You weren't inclined to sit in some uncomfortable plastic chair and get schooled by this "teacher".

First she saved you from Opila Bird and now she's basically holding you hostage, confiscating your drone.

At this point you're over it. You're wasting precious time here when your nieces could be in serious trouble.

When Banbaleena threatened to tear you into pieces the next time you're "late", you snap right back at her with "how about I tear you into pieces instead?"

As you say this, you show your claws, scales, and reptilian eyes so she knew exactly what she was dealing with.

Suddenly her strict demeanor goes away and she puts you at the "mean kids" table right away.

You suspected her donor feared monsterkind, a trait that was transferred directly to her, as she keeps stuttering when giving the next lesson and deciding you're correct even if you pressed the "wrong" answer.

She can't even look you in the eye and shakily asks you to be gentle with the tape recorders.

Yet she still calls you a "bad student" for leaving and attempts to give chase, but it doesn't last long and she gives up rather quickly.

She hasn't dealt with anyone who stood up to her and lived to tell the tale.

Especially a weregator.

Bittergiggle

He's not intimidated by you in the slightest.

You could partially-shift or even fully shift into your weregator form and this jester will find ways to make jokes out of it.

Besides stopping you from interfering with his plans to make the queen laugh, his goal is to make you laugh, too.

He knows killing you by himself is no longer feasible so he's gonna be an annoying mf who stalls you with bad jokes.

"What do you call an alligator examining a crime scene? An investi-gator!!"

"What's the difference between a crocodile and an alligator? You'll see one in a while, and you'll see the other later!"

When you don't laugh, it just irritates him a lot and he storms away.

He sets Kittysaurus upon you and is shocked when you manage to subdue her with ease.

Not by letting her ram into the walls over and over, but by throwing her into those walls/buttons yourself.

Never did you think you'd wind up in this situation when all you wanted was answers as to where your nieces went....

But you'll be damned if you let some clown and dino-cat hybrid stop you from finding them.

It's actually quite funny when you come back to the kingdom's throne room and see Bittergiggle throwing an absolute FIT because you once again stopped him from telling his joke to the queen.

And I mean stomping, waving his arms, hitting the floor, etc. Just a full-blown tantrum.

"Wow, even my nieces are more mature than you smh"

Fic idea

10 years after the battle of hogwarts, Auror Harry James Potter comes home to the child at his doorstep (Jaime)

Jaime was raised by a paranoid DLM

He did not have access to the Malfoy accounts and is hunted by death eaters and regular wixen alike.

Jaime is a menace to society. He can pick locks the muggle way (as well highly illegal wixen ways). He has combat training because Draco's wand is suseptible to expelliarmus (thanks, Potter).

Harry tries to bond with him but all Jaime wants to do is break into his office and look at crime portfolios, he has also broken into the holding cells and interrogated a suspect, though Harry cannot prove it but Harry knows. Just like he knew when Draco was up to something, only now he can't prove it. Curse his genes for getting away with things.

Harry is sent into a remote location when Hermione pings him that Jaime is missing from her home, and no, she doesn't know how they did it.

Harry is ready to return home when Jaime pops up out of nowhere with "Don't bother, I stole your broom and cloak, do better wards dad"

Then he starts drawing with chalk ...

"Jaime, right now is not the time for your doodles, and you are soooo grounded. Then whoosh, an anti apparation ward is placed on the compound"

Okay, but hold that thought, and he runs and leaps onto the roof.

Somehow, they knock everyone out

Jaime seems to be fine, so Harry thinks he can call back up only to return to Jaime punching a man yelling, " Where is my father?" Kick to the groin* pathetic then on to the next guy

Sigh they are able to find Draco Malfoy and Harry is equal parts raging mad that he had a child and stunned at how affectionate the duo are.

Only when they are supposed to return and auror are like aren't we arresting Draco Malfoy and Harry is like "No."

Aurors : no?

Harry: No!

Aurors: ahhh no we didn't see the wanted criminal snuggling the child that is apparently yours. Cheers

Draco whispers to Jaime then faces Harry "Take care of our offspring Potter, I'll return for him" then he disapparates

Harry is, of course, ready to wring his neck while Jaime is just like, " So glad you're mad at Father instead of me "

"Oh no you are still grounded until forever "

Right so wanna race home?

We are a half days ride from home, Jaime.

" What I'm hearing is your scared to lose, understandable, father always said you weren't up to the hype "

Gritting his teeth because, seriously, this is a child, Harry is a grown man

They race home and Harry wins but only barely

Jaime wasn't actually racing he just wanted to have fun with his dad of course he couldn't just ask like a normal person, he is half Malfoy.

Anyways Draco is on a mission to rescue his mother. The person holding her hostage is Lucius as a horcrux for the Dark Lord.

Wilbur was an idiot. Plain and simple. An absolute fool. What other explanation could there be for this situation he had put you both in?

Wilbur had been the one to suggest booking a hotel room instead of driving a few hours back to your american friend's apartment. He found a nice enough place and all for a pretty good price. He only made one mistake.

There was only one damn bed. Even worse, it was just a tad too small for you to both fit comfortably without being rather close.

"Wilbur, what the hell are we going to do now?" you laughed at him, his face was proper flushed, muttering something about how he was tired when he booked the room.

"I didn't think to check, I had assumed there would be two beds," he glared at you as you continued to giggle, "It's not that funny darling, if you keep laughing I might just make you sleep on the floor." You stopped and gaped at him.

"Uh-uh, nope, you fucked up, you're sleeping on the floor. It's either that or we'll have to share it.." you trailed off as your face heated at the thought.

It's not like it would be the end of the world. Only it was. As much as you hated to admit it, you liked Wilbur a lot. Much more than the friendship you currently shared. Wilbur didn't need to know that, though. Him and his stupidly cute face..

He smirked at you and teased, "Oh yeah? I'm sure you'd like that a lot, wouldn't you, sweetheart?" He stepped closer to you, and your eyes focused on the ground, finding it very interesting at this moment.

His hand lifted your chin up to face him before leaning in to whisper in your ear, "Go on darling, use your words."

Your face became impossibly flushed, stuttering while attempting to find the right thing to say. Wilbur had always been flirty with you, but this seemed different. He stepped back, laughing and shaking his head.

"I'm just teasing you, my love, I'll sleep on the floor since it was me who-"

"No, we can share. It's fine," you cut him off speaking quickly. You covered your mouth as soon as the words escaped. Shit. There is no way you just said that out loud.

He smiled at you a little confused, "Alright then, whatever you like. I'll take the bags while you get changed, yeah?"

Your mind was racing, but you managed a nod, grabbing a large t-shirt and some rather short shorts. After practically running to the bathroom and changing, you headed back over to Wilbur.

He had already gotten ready for bed and was scrolling through his phone, waiting for you to join him. You cautiously slid into bed beside him, trying to give him enough room, but barely having any yourself.

"Seriously, love?" Wilbur chuckled, motioning for you to come closer, "Come here, you're going to fall." You obliged, scooting next to him and getting comfortable as he wraps his arms around you. You were blushing intensely, his scent enveloping you. He tangled his legs with yours so that neither of you were hanging off the edge and brought you even closer to him.

If that wasn't enough to make you flustered, what he did next definitely was.

He squeezed you gently and pressed a kiss onto your forehead, nuzzling into the crook of your neck. He chuckled when your breath hitched, knowing the effect he had on you.

"Darling, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you might have a fever from how warm you're getting," he spoke lowly, teasing again, "Would you like to explain yourself?"

Once again, you were at a loss for words, as if he had stolen them from you. The butterflies in your stomach were going crazy as he pulled back to look at you again.

"Hmm, struggling, are we? Gods, you're adorable, you know that?" He smiled, glancing down at your lips.

Somehow, that snapped you out of your speechless state. "I am not adorable! I am a menace to society! How dare you even sugg-"

He cut off your ramble with a kiss, cautious at first and then confident when you kissed him back. His hands traveled from your back down to your hips and squeezing. You gasped, mouth opening and he took the opportunity to explore you further.

When you finally pulled back for air, looking up at him, his pupils were blown wide, face red and lips swollen. He smiled so big his eyes crinkled at the corners. "Do you know how long I've wanted to do that, my love?"

"Yeah? I dont know, maybe you should kiss me again just so I can be sure," you smiled back at him, closing the short distance between the two of you once more.

You guessed it was safe to say he liked you back. He was still an idiot, no doubt. But he was your idiot.

Mr Frog made his own “neon green sauce” he advertised on some shitty website and Charlie was crazy enough to try it, he along with like 50 others wound up bedridden for weeks afterwords and they all sued the pants off Mr. Frog, not like it’s any skin off his nose because he’s the richest and most powerful man in the world or whatever!!

Charlie is a Cheech and Chong fan and he has all their comedy albums.

Pim competes with his sister Amy, like even though she’s the golden child Pim knows he’s got what she covets: that lovely figure of his! Pim decides to be petty one day and shows up to Amy’s wedding wearing a little red cocktail dress showing off his curves knowing all the compliments he’ll get. Everyone wonders why Amy is in bridezilla mode all of a sudden because it’s not like Pim wore white nor is it as flashy as her wedding dress so he couldn’t have deliberately upstaged the bride right?

Gwimbly attended a convention with his own panel and everything and gets legitimately emotional upon seeing dozens of cosplayers and fans overall who haven’t forgotten him long after he was abandoned by his crappy company.

Glep is a menace to society on April Fools Day, one time he let a hoard of frogs loose at the Spaghetti Disco and watched the chaos from afar.

Smormu loves wearing cute pastel clothes and she wears different ensembles everyday, she gets a lot of complements as she so deserves because she slays!

how do Creators, a Guide-

-basic concept is ‘what if art but superpowers’.

-less basic concept is; People who can use this world’s magic system are called Creators. There are 4 types of Creators; Withdrawers, Imbuers, Enhancers, and Invokers. Being a Creator is genetic, though it’s a recessive gene (like green eyes) so parents do not have to be Creators for their child to be.

-Imbuers are the most common and also the type general society is most unbothered by. Imbuers can embed special properties into anything they create, for example a sword that cannot break, a necklace that enhances the wearer’s hearing, or a food that heals. 

-Withdrawers are the second most common, but the type regarded as most dangerous by general society. Withdrawers can bring things they create to life/into existence; said things can be controlled by their creator and are made out of whatever they’re created with.

-Enhancers are regarded as the least common type, and unlike the other two types of Creator, most Enhancers live in their own nation and do not interact with outsiders. Enhancers can enhance the art they perform, for example turning singing into a siren-like spell.

- Invokers are the most rare type of Creator, most people don’t believe they exist. Invokers can force things to happen by writing them down.

so, what are the Libraries?-

~in essence, they’re… well, libraries.

~Specifically, cool fantasy libraries that don’t actually let you check out books.

~I suppose that would make them more of archives? IDK

~Anyway, the Libraries are run by Librarians, who have magic powers because this is a fantasy universe and I can do what I want. 

~specifically, the Libraries’ founder figured out a way to make it so that the staff of each Library can use all the Gifts belonging to the Librarians of that particular Library.

~They also serve as sanctuaries in the same way that cathedrals used to.

(sidebar; what are ‘Gifts’-

~Basically, a long time ago, Something Happened.

~that made what are called Rifts; IE places where the world doesn’t quite… work right.

~Plants and animals that grow/live near the Rifts are Kind of Funky.

~as are people! This is how magic. Magic is called Gifts- you have one specific Gift; ie super-strength, flight, etc. Like superpowers, but fantasy. Ok sidebar over).

-there are 4 countries, Solace, Ketra, Shyi, and Amora. Amora is not technically a country. It’s complicated. There is also Tali, which is conquered by Solace and technically not a country but that’s also complicated to be honest.

-Solace is the most relevant because that’s where the protagonists are. The capital of Solace is Solace. It is also called The Golden City because that is confusing.

-Solace and Shyi do not get along. Solace and Ketra have a treaty and generally get along. Shyi and Ketra do not get along (Shyi is mad because they tried to conquer Ketra and it didn’t work). The Amorians do not get along with anyone, though this is rarely their fault.

-A few decades ago, Solace had a civil war wherein they swapped out their old royal family for a new royal family. This part is very relevant to the plot.

FELIX ROSE- -~the protagonist~ -Look it’s not HIS fault he wound up getting into a contract with the Shady Underground that is as a result getting him blackmailed to start a civil war -OK, maybe the first part of that might be a little bit his fault. -He’s Doing His Best, alright. -chronic charmer -dating Helen (one of his greatest achievements)

SHANNON ROSE- -Felix’s younger twin brother -scholar -busy Doing Research -bit naive to be honest.  -we love him anyway -just a Little Guy -can really hold a grudge -really looks up to Felix, good thing Fe isn’t, say, hiding any incredibly big secrets that have the potential to shatter their relationship, right? :)

HELEN WHITEHALL- -a goddess among women -(alright maybe I’m being a little dramatic) -Dating Felix. -pureblooded Solite noble -not supposed to be dating Felix, who is half Amorian. currently ignoring that. -significantly more prone to shenanigans and mischief than anyone really guesses -i love her

BRICRIU CALLAN -friend of Felix’s -morally grey af -great fun to write

VALENTIN -cinnamon roll of a boy -baffled by the plot but doing his best anyway

TAYLOR/TAY -Shadow Guard researcher -spends most of the plot side-eying Felix suspiciously

i explain affinities to you-

~So basically, everyone in this world is born with what is called an Affinity.

~This means they can manipulate a little bit of the world (which little bit depends on the affinity).

~list of affinities; fire, water, air, earth, growth, decay, light, animal, aether, sight, humanity, city, fortune, and enhancement.

~Affinities are heriditary and not recessive (IE, if your parents both have fire affinities, so will you), except for the Family Affinities.

~’but Rose what’s a Family Affinity’ 

~Basically, there’s four families (Solena, Lune, Maris, and Itris) who hav affinities that belong only to them. Within the families, they work as above, but once you get a generation removed from the main bloodline, their affinities (humanity, city, fortune, and enhancement) mysteriously just. Stop appearing. Nobody knows why that is.

~I reiterate, everyone has an affinity!

~except sometimes they don’t.

~except sometimes they have aether (can manipulate everything) which is actually VERY BAD.

~this brings us to the plot.

The Plot-

~meet Felice and Kiseki, they’re the protagonists and also twins

~Felice has No Affinity!

~(Felice does not need an affinity, she has a gun)

~(this is surprisingly effective because nobody thinks about guns when they have, say, Magic Fire)

~(Magic Fire is quite a bad defense against being shot, unfortunately for People Who Are Not Felice)

~Kiseki has Aether! This is bad. It means he is probably going to explode, and should really already have done so

~Felice would like that not to happen, thank you very much.

~They are on the hunt for an artifact that is supposed to help with Kiseki not exploding

~They arrive in Mercy City on their search, and are immediately sidetracked by the ridiculous amount of people with agendas in this book.

FELICE VENTURA- -hey remember her she’s the main character -as previously mentioned, No Affinity -this does not make much of an effect on her in any way concievable -it does make it a bit of a pain to get through customs though, as she has to convince them she’s not hiding an affinity in her pants somehow. that usually takes a bit. -knows how to pilot a bunch of things

KISEKI TERRIS- -hey remember him he’s also the main character -as previously mentioned, has Aether -this means he can manipulate the aether. this means a lot of things. -most relevantly, this means he should really have exploded by now since the human body isn’t designed to handle that much energy -constantly wears affinity surpressors, which is very uncomfortable for him -also a pain to get through customs

CADEN SOLENA- -i love him dearly & want to put him in a blender <3 -charming bastard -heir to the Solena family, has the Solena affinity of Humanity. -this means he can heal and/or brainwash people.

SOPHIE LLYR -Caden’s braincells & moral compass -scholar -has the affinity of Air -she can fly!

THOMAS DARIS -Joy’s bodyguard. -very nice -has the affinity of Fire -former soldier. really badass.

JOY ITRIS -heir to the Itris family, has the Itris affinity of Enhancement -this means she’s basically an enhanced version of a human -little menace /affectionate

worldbuilding/info

featuring-

~post-apocalyptic setting with the wrecks of modern cities scattered about.

(post-apocalyptic is a very fun word to say)

~people called scrappers who go into the ruined cities and collect useful stuff to bring back to the new cities

~a majority of scrappers are teenagers since being a scrapper means you need to be small and agile, and more teenagers fit that description than adults.

~it’s been a while since the Cataclysm (the apocalypse part of post-apocalyptic) so there’s a pretty thriving society set up with a rather baffling mixture of technologies

~the main cast are a scrapping crew

~they live in a flying ship! with wings! (thank you @cloudsthatglowinthenightsky)

~also there’s the Mist. It’s… well it’s mist. But like. Magical mist. It’s concentrated around the old cities for some reason.

~spending time in or near the Mist isn’t good for humans. It makes you a bit funky (and also kills you if you stay in it long enough)

~most scrappers are a bit funky

~Lute is Oddly Normal when you consider that. I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything

~also there’s pirates. forgot to mention that. they steal things from scrappers mostly

LUTE- -the main character! from the last slide. you remember him right -one of the three actual scrappers of the crew -artist (I plan to use this blatantly to put illustrations into the book) -so normal that it might actually be suspicious at this point

VANYA- -the ship’s captain -about ten seconds away from a mental breakdown on a good day -one of his hobbies is pretending He’s Fine -he has done so successfully enough to that he also believes He’s Fine. -He’s Not, Actually. -’ship in a bottle’ by stefan argus coded

?- -the Sudden Girl from the last slide -I. I haven’t named her yet. im sorry -can manipulate the Mist -comes equipped with a Backstory and Motives -she’s fiiiiiine

BLAKE- -the ship’s pilot -also pilots various drones (used for looking for useful things to scrap) -also fixes the ship when required -considers himself very underappreciated for how much he Does Around Here

ROBIN- -the ship’s medic -also one of the actual scrappers -also cooks -if anyone hurt her the rest of the crew would Kill Them Immediately -will absolutely beat you up if you don’t pay attention to her Medical Instructions

CHESS- -third scrapper of the crew -lifts heavy things -(lute and robin are both short, so you can imagine they require assistance on that front) -he’s here to have a good time not a long time

currently unnamed pirate captain -you know how some characters/people you just post a picture of and the entire comment section is just ‘not to be a lesbian but’ and ‘step on me’? yeah that’s her -also she’s evil. btw.
