Interesting. So Hanto is going to “privately” be searching for Shoma’s human family in the Human World. So those of us who were curious about Shoma’s mother having a family before her abduction, here we go. We are getting that plotline!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m curious. I wonder if Inoue Michiru is related to anyone that Shoma has met in the past?
Like remember the little boy and his mother that Shoma encountered in the first episode? I always wondered if that little boy would ever come back somehow later in the story given his wholesome friendship with Shoma after they first met.
Tumblr media
Like imagine if Michiru Inoue was the sister of one of his parents  - like his father or his mother who went missing years and ago and was never found.
Either that or … Shoma’s family will be new characters. One other likelihood that I’ve wondered about is whether or not Michiru was actually married before she was abduction.
Like what if … Michiru already has a husband and child with a human partner that she was forced to “forget” inorder to acclimatize herself to her new life as Bouche Stomach’s new bride and mother to their halfbreed son, Shoma.
It would honestly be absolutely bonkers if Shoma finds out, yet again, that he has another set of half-siblings who could potentially hate him after learning the truth of what actually became of their mother.
I think that could be a nice parallel. As we know, Shouma has his Stomach half-siblings - Lango, Glotta, Nyelv, Shiita and Jeebh.
So what if … Michiru Inoue had her own child or set of children back in the Human World who she was forced to leave behind. So that child or children never saw their mother again and now all they have left to remember her by is the son she had with man who was basically her captor.
I think Shouma potentially have human half siblings who might actually be more welcoming of him into their family as he is the remaining remnant of their mother could be good if it happened.
Even better if their reasoning for welcoming Shoma is because of how much he resembles Michiru in both looks and personality. Like perhaps, Shoma’s kindhearted nature is something he got from his mama or something like that.
Not to mention that learning more about Michiru Inoue and even Bouche Stomach is a good way to learn more about their relationship. About what that was like. Perhaps … there’s even more to understanding their story that not even Shoma knows since he only seems to know one side while other characters might have a different perspective of the whole story.
And I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’m definitely interested in hearing the full story of Michiru Inoue and Bouche Stomach.
Not to mention that this whole plot point is another way for Hanto and Shoma to bond. Perhaps Hanto becomes a little too overzealous about reuniting Shoma with his family, despite his fears, because of the fact that he never got to even say goodbye to his own mom who died screaming for him (reopening that old wound).
Tumblr media
Not to mention that we still got Nyelv to deal with. Mind you, it has been ONE WHOLE MONTH in the main story so I wonder what Nyelv has been secretly cooking in the background in respect to avenging/reviving Suga (and the Bitt0Brats too).
All in all, I’m definitely excited for this next THIRD arc!

I was reading this original post by @burnt-my-eggs about Gavv/Shoma’s Granute form being a nudibranch or a sea bunny and it got me thinking:
I recall reading somewhere that the original theme for Gavv was going to be based on the Little Mermaid fairytale before it was later changed to sweets/snacks.
Tumblr media
As ya’ll know, in the Little Mermaid story, at least the classic made by Walt Disney, the Mermaid princess gets turned into a human after being tricked by a sea witch who grants her wish in exchange for her voice.
Tumblr media
Nyelv Stomach is the closest thing to a “witch” by Gavv standards.
Imagine, a plotline, where Nyelv captures Shoma and turns him into a Granute by force-feeding him a scientific concoction that suppresses his human form and mutates him into what would have been his Granute form --- a Sea Bunny Granute. After that, Sea Bunny Granute Shoma becomes stranded in the Granute World far, far away from his friends in the Human World who team up to go to the Granute World to save him.
With a story like that, not only could we get to see what Shoma would look like if he was a pure Granute but it could’ve also been a neat way to have Shoma gain some more allies from the Granute World (apart from Lakia and his Grunkle Dente) while also showing more of what the Granute World is like in terms of structure and civilization.
We’ve only gotten a couple of glimpses here and there in the show with only minor nuggets of info on what the Granute World is like in terms of world-building.
Tumblr media
Personally I think it would be a nice change of pace (and scenery) if the story switched gears and we were able to see more of the Granute World along with our heroes.
Maybe even have a story where Lakia and Hanto are forced to team up to go the Granute World to save Shoma.
Can you imagine Hanto in the Granute World?
Perhaps ... even have a funny bit of Lakia needing to fashion Hanto a Granute disguise so he could blend in and not “frighten” the local Granutes because in the Granute World, Hanto would seem like the “otherworldly monster” since I’ve doubt any other Granutes know of the existence of humans outside of the Stomachs.
Tumblr media
Lakia clarified that, actually, when he told Shoma that he didn’t even know of humans before joining Stomach Inc.
So yeah, imagine a story like that. What would you folks think?

Gavv's FEMME Rider
As much as I’ve been an advocate for Sachika becoming our FEMME Rider for Gavv, given the fact that one of the prerequisites for becoming a Kamen Rider for this season involves being a full blooded Granute or at least partially - either by birth (like Shouma, Lakia and the Bitt-Brats) or via modification surgery (like Hanto and the form Suga), I’m starting to have doubts about whether or not Sachika will even become a Rider.
That being said, Gavv has to have at least one FEMME Rider in the main cast. After all, the Reiwa Era has been consistant with having at least one FEMME Rider per season since the start with Zero One. So surely, Gavv will have one, no?
And given the fact that Kamen Riders Bake and Bitter Gavv are currently dead, it’s looking like we’re in the market for a new EVIL Rider to show up to take their place and challenge our heroic trio, no?
This is just a long winded post for me to say that I think Jeeb’s new wife ---Rizel Jardak--- may become our candidate for Gavv’s FEMME Rider over Sachika (granted that there can only be one female Rider this season).
Tumblr media
I mean, she’s already a Granute and given the fact that Nyelv was the one to build a Rider belt for Lakia; what’s stopping him from making Rizel his new lab rat and turning her into a Kamen Rider?
Why else would they introduce this character if she wasn’t going to be as important as another rider? I mean that's what they did with Lakia in the beginning, no?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t get wrong; I STILL want Sachika to be a Rider. But I think at this point, the only way she can be a Rider is if Grunkle Dente builds her a driver that can work with her human biology and turn her into a Rider without the need for any Granute modification surgery.
Tumblr media
As for what snack theme do I think Rizel would be if she became our FEMME Rider? Well, we have yet to see a Rider form based on parfait yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if Rizel became a Rider, her theme would probably be parfait. (Literally a blueberry custard parfait)
Tumblr media
I can totally see Nyelv turning her into a parfait-themed Rider to replace the pudding Rider that betrayed him. Parfait vs Pudding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Also notice how Rizel and Lakia kind of share a similar colour scheme with the blue and white for their main outfit - at least Lakia's first human fit before he turned into our tertiary Rider)
But then again, this is just me spouting ideas and throwing them onto the table of possibility as always.
I still want Sachika to become a bubble gum FEMME Rider but at the same time, it wouldn’t surprise if our FEMME Rider for Gavv will be a villainess/anti-heroine in the upcoming Rizel Jardak,

I think it's safe to say that Shouma will never ever have to worry about Hanto hating him ever again.
Still gushing about how all of this came full circle in the end. Love me a field good parallel that pays off in the end after episodes of build up.
Said it before and I'll say it once more, whether you like Chocogummy romantically or purely platonically, it doesn't matter. This pair is victorious on either side.
Hanto and Shouma are partners through and through.
They literally have three Gochizos that symbolize the evolution of their bond (from dual chocolates to doughnuts to frappe). Four if you count the Christmas episode.

If us Valen stans think Hanto’s suffering is over just cause he confessed his true feelings for Shouma, officiating their firm partnership and dedication to one another both on and off the battlefield, then I think we’re forgetting one major detail.
Remember, as highlighted in flashbacks, Hanto has one half of the press containing the remnants of his beloved mentor while the other half is in the possession of Nyelv Stomach.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And since Nyelv will be taking over from Suga, surely this symbolizes that Hanto isn’t done suffering.
Afterall, if Suga didn’t have a hand in the abduction of Hanto’s mother and trafficking to the Stomachs then who did?
The only possibility left now on the table is if Nyelv Stomach has something to do with this.
And considering the fact that Nyelv could give two shits about Hanto, he isn’t going to go as easy on him on the suffering scale as Suga did. And that’s saying something considering what Suga put our veteren chocolate turned frappe boy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perhaps this is how Hanto and Lakia are going to bond. Over their shared victimization by Nyelv. Will see.

Jeeb's Waifu
Tumblr media
@real-life-pine-tree
You’re right. I genuinely wish to hope for the bit that Jeeb genuinely loves his new wife and she loves him and the two are match made in heaven where they complete one another.
Tumblr media
However, even if Jeeb does love his wife, I feel like the biggest mistake he could make was bringing her to meet his family (something that I’m assuming was her idea. NOT Jeeb’s).
Since it was mentioned somewhere that there would be a month time skip between the events of Episodes 28 and 29, it wouldn’t surprise me if Jeeb has been married to his wife this whole time, living happily but his wife didn’t feel right about Jeeb meeting her family (who all probably love, adore and accept him) while she never got to experience that with Jeeb’s family.
Tumblr media
It would not surprise me at all if Jeeb introducing his new wife to his family was at her behest. Not his.
It also wouldn’t surprise me if Jeeb’s wife would be the type of “good-hearted” character to want Jeeb to reconcile things with his family and will probably do whatever it takes to help him do so.
Tumblr media
Hence my theory about the President Family being genuinely kind people who will slowly become corrupted by the Stomachs.
You’re correct about Jeeb’s marriage being a sweet ending for him. I can also see this being a potential way for Jeeb to kindle a relationship with Shouma.
Tumblr media
I feel like Jeeb’s wife is going to become corrupted by Lango and when that happens, Jeeb will be forced to go to Shouma for help. Asking. Begging him to help him STOP LANGO despite their past conflict and misunderstanding of one another. I know Shouma will be the last person that Jeeb will wish to see since technically Shouma was the one who killed Shiita. All the more reason why it would be symbolic for Jeeb to go to Shouma for help in the end. Of all the people.
That’s what I’m hoping for.
For Jeeb to have his happy ending with his newfound love and for him and Shouma to actually have a positive relationship.
They might never actually be close. But it would nice for them to be on good terms enough that Shouma could get invited to future family gatherings to meet his future nieces and nephews --- the children of Jeeb and his wife.
That could be cute.
I really want Jeeb’s wife to surprise me and be a genuine sweetheart who probably will treat Shouma really nicely the instant she learns he’s technically her “brother in law”.
Tumblr media
Like imagine her gearing up to fight Shouma cause Jeeb told her that he killed his beloved sister but the instant Ms Lampchop learns that Shouma is actually Jeeb’s brother, she melts and turns into a “big sister” who is just over the moon excited to meet another member of Jeeb’s family.
Like perhaps her goal is to be loved by every one in Jeeb’s family (because that’s how everyone in her family feels about Jeeb). And that INCLUDES Shouma.
Shouma being pursued and literally love-bombed by his quirky new sister in law who wants him to JOIN her extended family with the Stomachs instead of the usual other way around would actually be a fun twist.

Note
I’m also thrilled that Jeeb is FINALLY returning in the next episode.
Not gonna lie, Jeeb being disowned and discarded by Lango and the rest of the Stomach Family, only for him to go marry the daughter of the President of the Granute World, the literal most powerful family in all of the Granute World is a power play that I was NOT expecting.
Tumblr media
So for Jeeb to up and go marry the President’s Daughter of all people --- either Jeeb is planning to “aid” Lango in his ambitions to overtake the Granute World by worming his way into the President’s household through his daughter only to axe him off eventually and get the daughter to name him as President of the Granute World instead or … Jeeb’s marriage to the President’s daughter is a literal middle finger to Lango.
Tumblr media
My worry is that Jeeb’s new wife might actually be a sweetheart who is genuinely excited for her family and the Stomach’s to join and become one big happy family while Jeeb has other intentions.
There’s the part of me that is conflicted between:
a) Jeeb doesn’t truly love his new wife and is just using her for her status and what her family can do for the Stomach Family ultimately ruling the Granute World...
OR
b) Jeeb probably does genuinely love his new wife because she helped fill the void in his heart after Shiita’s death. Because ironically, in terms of looks, Jeeb’s wife’s design reminds me of Shiita.
Tumblr media
So it could be a case where Jeeb does love his wife but will be forced to double cross/use her and her family because he’ll be manipulated by Lango into doing their family’s bidding.
Tumblr media
That being said, I’m HEAVILY concerned for Jeeb’s wife. While I adore her Gothic doll design --- I’m curious to see what her personality will be like.
I’m hoping that she’s not evil. I’m hoping that the President’s Daughter is actually a sweet little lamb. Probably a bit cuckoo for coco puffs. But otherwise, very sweet.
Also, I’m curious how Jeeb’s wife will feel about Shouma. Like, imagine if… Jeeb’s wife is indeeed sweet and nice? Like the President’s family are actually decent people and his daughter is quirky but overall a good-hearted girl without a bad bone in her body.
My concern is that the President and his family are actually genuinely nice people who slowly get corrupted by the Stomach Family.
To the point that in a twist, Jeeb will go to Shouma to help him stop Lango  because he doesn’t want him to hurt his wife and her family.
That could be interesting.

As a Gemini myself, let me say how happy it makes me feel to learn that two of my favourite Gavv characters - Hanto Karakida played by Yusuke Hino and Sachika Amane played by Nozumi Miyabe --- are played by fellow Gems.
Miyabe-san is born May 22nd and Yusuke-kun is born June 3rd.
(Just found this out while looking up photos for a Gavv post. Did not know that Shouma would be paired up with two Gems. I love it!)

I think the casting director for Kamen Rider Gavv made a huge mistake with Yusuke Hino
Tumblr media
Ya’ll casted Yusuke Hino as Hanto Karakida/Kamen Rider Valen who is the secondary Rider to Kamen Rider Gavv.
You made him the SECONDARY RIDER … when clearly this actor has the chops to be the lead.
Cause after today’s episode, I can firmly says that Yusuke Hino has the acting prowess to play a lead a Kamen Rider series of his own.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Hidekazu Chinen who plays Shouma/Kamen Rider Gavv and I think he’s a terrific actor as well. But these past episodes of this past arc have truly highlighted how great of an emotional actor that Yusuke Hino is.
Tumblr media
I said it last week and I’m saying it again --- the guy is really good at embodying the raw emotions of the character he’s playing and make you as the audience feel for said character. Similar to Shouma, I don’t think I could picture any other actor being Hanto and say wholeheartedly that Yusuke was born to play Hanto or at least a character like Hanto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Tumblr media
As the meme would say, home boy acted like the landlord showed up at his doorstep and told him that he’d be evicted if he didn’t act his ass off in Episode 28 of Gavv. Rent was due and Yusuke Hino delivered on the money!
I said it last week and I’m saying it again --- the guy is really good at embodying the raw emotions of the character he’s playing and make you as the audience feel for said character. Similar to Shouma, I don’t think I could picture any other actor being Hanto and I say wholeheartedly that Yusuke was born to play Hanto or at least a character like Hanto.
For what it’s worth, I hope Yusuke get’s the Kouhei Takeda treatment.
I know most Kamen Rider Build stans know him mainly as Kamen Rider Grease. But real ones like me remember him from Kamen Rider Kiva.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was Otoya Kurenai a.k.a the father of our main rider --- Wataru Kurenai (Kamen Rider Kiva). And given the story of Kiva was divided between the events of the past following Otoyo and the present following Wataru, you can almost say that Otoya was somewhat simultaneously the protagonist and deuteragonist of Kiva.
That being said, my point is that Kouhei Takeda is an example of a main actor from a past KR season returning to play a new character/rider in a future series.
This is something that I’m hoping for Yusuke Hino. Don’t know how the showrunners will swing it. But if Yusuke is up to it, it would be great to see him return to reprise a leading role in another Rider series for the future. Even crazier if he returns to play the lead Rider in a future Rider series when he was a secondary Rider for Gavv.
Tumblr media
If not for Kamen Rider, then I would love to see Yusuke play the lead role in some kind of future action series even if it’s not toku. Like I said, the guy definitely has chops. So I hope Gavv will be a stepping stone to much greater avenues for him moving forward.
Not just him, but the whole Gavv main cast to be honest. Zoning in on both of our lead two Riders, I hope to see more from these two --- Hidekazu Chinen and Yusuke Hino --- moving forward.
Tumblr media
Even if Gavv was their first big break, I hope it doesn’t stop there. I hope the two move onto bigger amazing projects (and possibly even be brought back for future KR spinoffs).

Something to be said about dat Chocogummy Final Scene from today’s episode.
Tumblr media
Confession aside, I’m just going to AMUSE myself at the fact that Hanto, despite kicking an “old geezer’s ass” into the afterlife is suddenly too weak to walk that he absolutely NEEDS Shouma to carry him most of the way home.
While all the Chocogummy shippers are probably screaming, my squiggly behind can’t help but chuckle and look at Hanto all sus like:
Tumblr media
“ … Really? Really sir? You REALLY need Shouma to carry you like a Spider Monkey? Did you break both of your legs during your first Rider kick like Zero-One?”
Jokes aside, I absolutely love this last scene between Hanto and Shouma very much for how much it symbolizes for the continuous growth in their relationship. Whether you ship Chocogummy romantically or platonically, why this “confession moment” means a lot is, remember, one of Shouma’s fears from the big break up is that he didn’t want Hanto to hate him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main reason why he was so scared to tell Hanto the truth about him is that he was scared that Hanto would hate him.
Above all else, Shouma doesn’t want Hanto to hate him (y’know since he’s practically spent most of his life being unfairly hated by everyone around him except his mother who he later lost).
So Hanto, in turn, basically telling Shouma that he likes him (or loves him or is very fond of him, depending on what dub you watched) regardless of their current baggage and any other potental baggage moving forward, it’s what Shouma needed to hear.
Tumblr media
No matter what happens next moving forward, Hanto will ALWAYS LIKE SHOUMA FOR HIM.
And God forbid, Hanto, you bet your ass that us as the viewing audience are going to hold you to that!
After all, the last time you and Shouma “made up”, you told him that you were going to believe in him not because you thought he was human but because you believed in Shouma … only for you to DIP on him the moment you found out his connection to your mother’s death.
As a viewer, I hope this is that LAST TIME we have to watch these two reconcile. We got a confession. Please no more. No more stress. No more fighting. PLEASE LET THIS BE THE LAST TIME THESE TWO IDIOTS FIGHT TILL THE END OF THE SHOW, GODDAMMIT!
Tumblr media
Unless something happens to Hanto (AGAIN) and we’ll need to see the reverse of this where Shouma answers Hanto by saying he likes him too.
We still got Nyelv to deal with and it’d be interesting if after telling Suga “that he’s not particularly fond of Hanto”, that Nyelv indeed does “become interested” in Hanto. Y’know for science.
Tumblr media
I would absolutely laugh my chocolate coated ass off if this all  becomes on big fat BL-scented mess with Shouma being very fond of Hanto and Hanto is very fond of Shouma but then Nyelv becomes very fond of Hanto (y’know for scientific reasons) but Nyelv is Shouma’s older brother who hates him and that becomes a problem when both brothers become very fond of the same guy i.e Hanto.
Tumblr media
And then there’s the cherry on top with Lakia being Shouma’s surrogate big brother who used to be the former soldier boi to his actual older brother Nyelv and then things are going to get even more heated when Lakia eventually becomes a surrogate big brother to Hanto because their relationship is next on the block to grow and change right as Nyelv is about to reenter the picture and turn up.
Tumblr media
All in all, ya’ll see how all of that sounds like one big potential entertaining MESS right?

This might be a crazy theory, but what if Suga is actually Hanto’s biological father who lost custody from a divorce?
Hiya there Pine.
Whelp m’fam … that’s not too much of a crazy theory … cause I considered the exact same thing too at some point.
Tumblr media
It was in THIS POST right after the episode where Suga made that weird quote about “nothing making him happier than seeing Hanto grow big and strong”.
It was such an oddly “dad” or parental thing for him to say to Hanto that even if he meant it sarcastically, it definitely got me thinking.
Suga secretly being revealed to be Hanto’s biological father would actually make sense.
Think about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Suga said that he started his experiments 20 years ago. You can say that Hanto is probably 22 or 23 canonically in Gavv (I mean his actor - Yusuke Hino is around that age) so it would line up in terms of timeline.
Perhaps it’s a case where the Suga’s baby was destined to die young or at least die eventually due to a birth defect. And not wanting to see his child die, that’s why Suga started his experiments in an attempt to figure out a way to save his child. To ensure that his child who was destined to die young can cheat death and live forever.
Tumblr media
And if that child was indeed Hanto then that too would oddly enough line up and make sense. If it’s a case where Mama Karakida learned the truth of what Suga was doing, even if it was for the sake of their child, it would make sense for her to want to divorce Suga as a result of it. It would make sense if Mama Karakida left Suga without his knowledge and took their son with her .
If we’re going with the Hanto is Suga’s son idea, perhaps Hanto was supposed to be Baby K, once upon a time.
Perhaps Hanto Karakida wasn’t originally going to be his name. Let’s say, hypothetically, Hanto was originally going to be named Kaito Suga back when his mother was formerly married to Kenzo Suga.
Tumblr media
But after Kaito was diagnosed with a birth defect that would ultimately kill him and Suga began experimenting on humans to try and save him, Mama Karakida immediately divorced Kenzo and took custody of their son, changing his name from Kaito Suga to Hanto Karakida, taking back her maiden and removing any ties that Hanto had to his father.
Thus Hanto was raised never knowing his real father. But that never stopped Suga from looking for him. For searching for his long lost son Kaito … until his searches brought him to Hanto.
Tumblr media
I still want to believe that Suga had a hand in Mama Karakida’s abduction and trafficking to the Stomach Family.
Although the story never touched on it, I still want to believe he had a hand in it somehow. The timing and connections between Suga, the Stomach Family and the Karakidas is too much of coincidence.
Like I said, Hanto being Kenzo’s son can definitely work in the canon if the show decided to go with that twist. But while it works, it’ll have to be just a theory for now since the plot kind of closed Suga’s story … at least for now.
Tumblr media
But I will say this, Hanto being revealed to be a TRUE “son of Suga” as opposed to just a surrogate son definitely lends to my other headcanon of Hanto adopting Baby K and raising him.
I'm still assuming that somewhere in the city, Baby K --- the REAL Baby K --- is probably locked up in some kind of cryogenic chamber keeping him alive until Daddy Suga was ready to let him live.
Tumblr media
Perhaps we were wrong about Baby K being a clone of Suga.
Perhaps Baby K is just that. A baby. Suga's precious baby boy. The Boy Who NEVER Got To Live.
My guess is that Kenzo was so probably so scared of his precious Baby K dying someday that he never allowed the poor child to actually live.
So, despite being born around the same time as characters like Shouma and even Hanto, Baby K was never allowed to grow up. Never allowed to go outside. Experience the outdoors.
Perhaps, like Shouma, Baby K is a prisoner of an overprotective FATHER claiming to keep him imprisoned out of love when in actually he never allowed him to live.
Tumblr media
it wouldn't shock me if Baby K just stayed a baby --- frozen in time --- kept safely in his father's secret lab until he can figure out a way to prevent him from dying.
And now that Suga is dead, technically, Baby K will now never truly get to live.
Unless, Shouma gets wind of this and becomes inspired to free Baby K and then once discovered and freed, Shouma and Hanto can probably adopt Baby K and raise him together in the Human World.
Last time I discussed the possibilities of Hanto adopting Baby K. But the potential of Baby K's upbringing also lends for Shouma to become an adoptive parent of him as well.
Baby K really can actually canonically become the poster adoptive child for Chocogummy
All of these ideas can work is what I’m saying in a nutshell.

So … I was right?! Suga was a dad once upon a time and everything he’s done in the past 20 years of the story up until this point was inspired by the great loss of his child?! I WAS RIGHT!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let the record show that this squiggly Gavvian was right about Suga’s backstory. THE SUGA DOCTOR WAS A SUGAR DADDY! I WAS RIGHT!!!
I mean it makes perfect sense after all given how paternalistic Suga treated the Bitt-Brats and Hanto. This actually makes me feel sorry for Suga. Oddly enough, the Gavv story just sorta fast forwarded past Suga’s story.
I mean, yeah sure --- today was more about Hanto and Shouma reconciling their friendship (FINALLY) and debuting Hanto’s true form - Frappe Custom. But even still, there was enough details about Suga sprinkled throughout the episode that I kinda wished we could’ve slowed down or paused a bit more during those moment. We finally get the Sugar Doctor’s backstory and it’s in the episode where he dies … kind of (I'll talk more on that later).
Tumblr media
I think on some odd level, Suga DID care about the Bitter Shoumas/ Bitter-Brats to an extent. Despite being his home-made sacrificial lambs for him to further test his “ultimate lifeform” theory, the fact that the Bitt-Brats were born and housed in the same secret room that that one Bitt-Brat claimed to Vram was precious to Suga, says something to me.
Tumblr media
While he may not have allowed them to call him “dad”, Suga did care for Bitt-Brats like his children, to some extent.
Tumblr media
Even when scolding them, he was never malicious towards them. Like I said, despite being a mad scientist, Suga’s paternal mannerisms was surprisingly the more humane part about him, ironically.
And now … his story has ended. Sort of. I’m sticking a pin in that for now because even if Suga is technically dead (and his actor will no longer be in the show), that doesn’t necessarily mean that the character of Kento Suga is gone.
After all, we still have the mysterious Baby K.
As we know, Suga had three candidates in his “ultimate life form” pet project. One was Hanto (the golden boy), another were the Bitt-Brats and the last one was Baby K.
My question after today’s episode is … Where is Baby K?
Tumblr media
We saw Suga eyeballing data taken from his three test subjects, Baby K included. However when Vram discovered the secret room, all he found were more Bitt-Brats.
But no Baby K. So where is Baby K?
Does Suga have another hidden lab somewhere inside his same building or in another location? Another secret room that Lakia missed cause he only focused on the one room that the Bitt-Brat sort of led him to. Perhaps that Bitt-Brat even sacrificed himself (and his other unborn brothers unfortunately) to lure Vram off the true trail.
Tumblr media
It wouldn’t surprise me if Suga had other bakeries secretly hidden in the city and one of them is probably where Baby K is.
After all, in the last episode, Suga showed 2 new Bitter Gavvs.
Tumblr media
Assuming that the one we saw fight Lakia in today’s episode is the SAME one who assisted Suga in holding Shouma hostage in the last episode, where’s his twin?
If Suga entrusted one Bitt-Brat to protect the “nursery” where his unborn brothers were still sleeping, then it wouldn’t surprise me if somewhere else in another part of town, there’s another nursery where that other Bitt-Brat must be housed guarding the container holding Baby K.
Suga is a smart man. Surely he must’ve predicted that he was on borrowed time following his first Bake transformation.
Tumblr media
So it wouldn’t surprise me if Suga foresaw his own death and put things in place to ensure the continuation of his experiments which included Nyelv carrying them on in his place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So my new hunch here is:
Baby K is a possibly a clone of Suga - his true son - and everything that Nyelv does moving forward will be done in Suga’s name to fulfill the birth of Baby K or rather … the rebirth of Kenzo Suga?
Speaking of Nyelv, let me talk about him for a bit.
Bouche Stomach probably wasn’t the best dad. I mean, granted he didn’t exactly learn from the best dad himself given the fact that his own father didn’t seem like a good guy either since he technically was the one who brought the first sample of human to his brother Dente to turn into Dark Treats and begin the Dark Treat business.
If I had to guess, Nyelv probably struggled with his relationship with Bouche as the second eldest son behind Lango and the middle child.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Nyelv never quite got the attention he desired out of Bouche which was made worse by the fact that they didn’t connect on an intellectual level given Nyelv’s aptitude for science.
If anything, it wouldn’t surprise me if Nyelv shared a closer father-son relationship with his Grunkle Dente since he was his mentor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But all that changed once Shouma was born and Bouche tasked Dente with aiding in his modification. Then, as we know, after his first attempt at helping Shouma failed, Dente left to live in the Human World as a way of gaining knowledge to further help Shouma.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Dente’s departure left a sour taste in Nyelv’s mouth and further strengthened his distaste for Shouma. Despite Dente’s compassion for Shouma, this sentiment was not mirrored by his grand-nephew and former mentee/successor.
Tumblr media
Around the time Dente left for the Human World was probably around the time, Nyelv first encountered Suga, who in turn, probably became like his replacement Dente.
Tumblr media
If I had to guess, Nyelv is probably going to harbour a strong sense of hatred and jealousy towards BOTH Shouma and Hanto.
After all, technically, the Chocogummy Duo stole both of Nyelv’s surrogate “dads” from him with Shouma taking Dente and Hanto taking Suga since he was his “golden child” up until the point he died.
Tumblr media
That being said, it’s going to be truly interesting seeing Nyelv’s interactions with Hanto and Shouma moving forward as he’s now taken over from Suga.
Up until this point in the story, there isn’t much to say about Nyelv. Outside of his intellect and scientific prowess, personality-wise, he seems to be quite stoic most of the time. Very rarely expressing much emotion outside of an eerie calmness about him.
Tumblr media
Since Nyelv is going to continue Suga’s experiments, it would be also be intriguing to see what Nyelv’s relationship with the Bitter Gavvs is going to be like.
Surely, Bitter Gavv BreaCookie and Bitter Gavv BakiBaki Sticks are going to be Nyelv’s creations based off of Suga’s experiments, right?
Tumblr media
Or perhaps Bitt-Brat Brea and Bitt-Brat Baki were the twins we last saw Suga with. (the one in today’s episode might’ve been another one born recently).
Tumblr media
Like I said, it would be interesting to see Nyelv interact with the Bitt Brats. Perhaps Suga entrusted Brea and Baki to safeguard Baby K and Nyelv just shows up to them out of nowhere to take over Suga’s work. But while Brea and Baki agree to work with Nyelv, they don’t exactly trust him and only do it out of their promise to “their master” which was to protect Baby K.
I can actually picture Nyelv and the Bitt-Brat Twins butting head because Nyelv will see them as copies of Shouma and his resentment towards them would probably mirror that of how Nyelv secretly feels towards Shouma.
Poor Nyelv --- forever being the “better child” forced to clean up the messes of his elders but never truly being loved or respected enough to be seen as the favourite child no matter how hard he worked or how much better he was than the so-called favourite children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then again, this is all just me speculating here.
Overall, today’s episode was FANTASTIC! It dropped so many details that leave me interested to see how things are going to move forward. Especially with the intro of new characters and the return of another.
But as far as Nyelv and the Bitter Gavvs, this is my hunch for now.

Ya'll, I’m a little worried for Lakia next episode.
I was of the opinion that Lakia would go after Suga while he’s out hunting Hanto and Shouma. Thus leaving Bitter Gavv behind to guard his secret underground bakery/potential nursery for Baby K.
However, as I was reviewing the trailer for this week’s episode, I noticed that Lakia appears to be fighting Bitter Gavv as Suga just sits there nonchalantly in the background.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So … what happens?
Did Lakia show up to stop Suga but gets confronted by Bitter Gavv instead and Suga just dips during their fight to go after Hanto and Shouma, leaving Bitter Gavv to fend off Lakia on his own?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or … does something happen and it’ll be Lakia’s turn to become a hostage of Suga?
It doesn’t seem like Lakia will be present for the Shouma and Hanto Chocogummy Tag Team Battle against Kamen Rider Bake plus the debut of Kamen Rider Valen Frappe Form.
Tumblr media
So I’m wondering if this episode will end with Shouma and Hanto finally reconciling and becoming a team again just in time as Lakia becomes a captive?
Shouma did state in the previous episode that there is currently a bounty out for Lakia from Stomach Inc --- no doubt from Nylev.
Regardless, I'm a little concerned now for our veteran pudding-flavoured jellyfish.
(Although, it was hinted that the next arc will focus on Hanto and Lakia's relationship. What that'll entail, I'm not sure. Either way, I hope Lakia comes out of it okay. I don't want all the speculations of his death flags to come to fruition).

Just re-sharing this post I made on Twitter.
Tumblr media
In the preview image from next weekend’s episode, it appears that one of the Bitt-Brats is shown gesturing to Vram almost in a protective kind of stand while surrounded by what appears to be a nursery decorated with baby pictures and even baby clothes.
Tumblr media
Because of this , I want to make the assumption that the nursery belongs to Subject Baby K and this single Bitt-Brat is probably there protecting him.
Since we’ve already seen a previous shot of Suga monitoring development of Bitter Gavv, Hanto and Baby K, it is also safe to assume that Baby K is probably a genetically perfected fetus currently submerged in some kind of artificial womb, keeping him alive until his is ready to be born.
Tumblr media
And judging by the image, Baby K is just a fetus at this point. Still not ready to be born yet. But that hasn’t stopped Suga from making preparations for his future ultimate life form’s eventual birth.
Some say Baby K is a clone of Suga himself that he’ll raise to ultimately turn into a successor or younger vessel for himself. Twisted but not too farfetched of a theory given how inhumane Suga really is.
Tumblr media
Then there’s me thinking that Baby K is a clone of someone Suga once deeply cherished that he’s attempting to bring back from the dead through scientific means.
Suga is so … oddly paternalistic in the way he treats his “test subjects” that it makes me wonder if once upon a time, he was actually a father.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like he once had a child of his own - a son perhaps - that he lost and the loss drove him to become the mad scientist going BEYOND BIOLOGY he is in the present.
Tumblr media
Suga revealed to Shouma and Hanto that he’s been conducting his research and experiments for 20 years.
That’s probably why Suga “cares” so much for Hanto. Hanto is oddly like the son Suga always wanted. Despite having his army of freshly baked Bitt Brats who are loyally subservient to him and despite having Nyelv who matches his intellect and shares similar interests, Suga more sees Hanto as his “golden child”. At least; for now, until Baby K is born.
Tumblr media
In a twisted way --- Nyelv, Bitter Gavv and Hanto are all surrogate sons for Suga.
Speaking of sons.
Hear me out folks.
Let’s say … Baby K is born, right? And despite the nature of what this child is and the trail of devastations paved to realize his birth, imagine if … Hanto takes pity on this innocent child and decides to adopt him? Imagine if … Hanto becomes like surrogate father figure to Baby K, becoming the mentoring guardian figure to Baby K that his mentor once was to him. Thus granting Baby K a life with a parent willing to look out for him that Hanto was robbed of as a kid himself. Hanto, Suga’s former number one candidate for his “ultimate life-form” becoming a dad/parental guardian to Baby K, the actual genetically-made ultimate life-form actually sounds like a sweet idea.
I think Hanto would make a terrific parental figure/surrogate father/ mentor.
Tumblr media
Perhaps he can take over his former mentor’s business with Baby K as his protegee like how he was once upon a time.
I think that could be a cute way for Hanto’s story to come full circle. Going through all this personal growth to become someone who can guide another towards a better path.
Remember Baby K was made in a lab to be another test subject for a heartless mad scientist.
Hanto giving Baby K a life --- the one that was robbed from him --- c’mon guys! See the vision with me. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Someone give Yusuke Hino his flowers. His acting during his mental breakdown scene after Cookie Monster Suga spilled the tea on his former mentor’s death was some of his best. He’s really good at nailing those heavy, emotionally gripping moments that make you, as an audience member, truly feel it for the character he’s embodying.
Well done!

Not the Bitt-Brat from today’s episode of Gavv calling Suga “dad”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at their widdle faces. They look so sad that Suga doesn't want to acknowledge them as his children.
Tumblr media
Dear Gavv series, you’re really, really NOT doing a good job of making me hate the Bitter Gavvs and want to see all of them destroyed. All you’ve done, week after week, is make me empathize with them deeply based on their unfortunate predicament and wish for nothing but their freedom and salvation.
Speaking of which, hear me out. If Sachika doesn’t become a Kamen Rider then can she at least be the one to adopt or rather employ all of the Bitt-Brats?
Tumblr media
Similar to Shouma and Lakia, Sachika can employ all the leftover Bitt-Brats as her own gaggle of Hapipare part-timers in exchange for the opportunity for them to make money to invest in anything the Bitt Brats might like (like food probably, similar to Shouma) as well as room and board; thus granting them their own independence and giving them a better purpose outside of being Suga’s expendable pawns.
Tumblr media
Can one of these Bitt-Brats grown a backbone and rebel against the Suga Doctor, please?! Anyone of them. I only need one to turn on their “creator” and cause a ripple effect to get his brothers to follow.
Perhaps Bitter Gavv BakiBaki Sticks might be the mockingjay to start the rebellion I desperately want to see.
Tumblr media
Seriously, let Sachika be the one to see the humanity in the Bitt-Brats and want to help/save them. Please! I need the Bitter-Brat redemption arc/happy ending ASAP!
These guys were built to serve. So let them serve a compassionate president than an unloving master.

So ... about that Kamen Rider ZZZ announcement/reveal ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While I know this is a normal thing in the Kamen Rider series, I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet about this annoucement.
I mean, I know at some time point Gavv has to end. Since Gotchard was at least a 49 episode run, I can probably expect something similar for Gavv and as of this week’s new episode, we’re almost half way there.
Tumblr media
That being said, I’d be lying if I said I’m ready to let Gavv go.
Being that it’s the first Kamen Rider series I’ve obsessed over since Gaim, it’s going to be difficult saying goodbye to Shouma, Hanto, Lakia, Sachika, the Sugar Doctor and his secret underground bakery of Bitt-Brats, and the whole Gavv story and world as a whole.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure; I’ve got like 20 something more episodes to premiere myself emotionally for the inevitable eventual departure. But even then still, I won’t be ready. These characters and their respective actors, I’ve grown attached to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said, I feel like I may stick around to actually check out the next Rider series after Gavv.
In a similar fashion to what got me interested in Gavv, I heard that the potential theme of Zeztz is dreams. At least, that’s the popular theory amongst the fandom.
Regardless, a Rider series focused on dreams where the main hero (probably) has to enter victim’s dreams to save them from their nightmares sounds REALLY COOL.
It’s giving me, Rise of the Guardian (if you’re a fan of that animated film too, like me) vibes with the feud between the Sandman - Bringer of Dreams and Pitch Black - King of Nightmares.
Tumblr media
Right now, I’m only getting hyped for ZeZTZ on the possibility of it being about dreams.
I’ll have to wait for an actual trailer or series synopsis but overall, I’m hoping it’s true because that would be very cool.
Following up your out of the box snack-themed rider with another unorthodox sleep/dream walker type rider sounds compelling to me.
I mean it’ll definitely keep the hype train going coming off of Gavv’s popularity. But as I said, it’s only a probability at the moment.
I will say this though.
Imagine if… for ZZZs, our main raider is a narcoleptic and the reason why he’s called ZZZs outside of the dream theme is because he literally falls asleep every time he tries to introduce himself to the people he helps in the aftermath of a battle to the point that it becomes a running gag.
“Oh Masked Hero, you’ve saved my life. Please tell me your name so that I can thank you.” “Oh me? I’m Kamen Rider ---” Falls asleep at that exact moment leaving the civilian heavily confused as the Rider, their valiant hero, is just standing there snoring loudly.
That could be a cute joke for the series. But as always, this is just me spitting thoughts.
We're a long ways away from Kamen Rider Sleepyhead's debut. In the meantime, I'll keep gushing about my favourite gummy rider and chocolate partner.
