| ANATOMY OF A SCENE - CHENFORD EDITION 5.22 - Under Siege

Battle Couple… This is one of my favourite trope ever… And these two embody that so well. The way this scene starts softly, with their banter, is very interesting… It could have come off as a tad tone deaf, with Aaron still in a coma. But they make it work. They're not downplaying anything, they're simply trying to get a moment of respite… and being together make that easier. It's the fact that they are bickering on who needs protecting… It's so them. And that 'you know me so well' parallel, with Tim being the one to say these words this time…. And this scene does have some eerie Day of Death vibe, so combined with all the reminders of Jackson's death, it's no wonder he doesn't want her out of his sight. Lucy's little confession that she's happy he's the one having her back also serves to underline that, for all the banter, she does appreciate that he is there with her. His 'back at you', while watching her six, literally… Sir, you are working! Remember when the first punishment for failing one of his Tim Test was to make Lucy fight so he could see her in action? Fast forward to now and not only is he happy she is the one having his back, he also wouldn't have it any other way. His pride in her is still the same : it's just that now, he can overtly check her out and flirt with her on top of it. And let's not forget how Grey didn't object when Tim volunteered to go check this place with Lucy. The amount of faith he has in both of them, that their relationship is not going to interfere with their work, is amazing. In a way, it makes sense : he had front row seats to the development of their relationship, so he knows. And I love how they find ways to be paired up together because they work so well together.

Something that is particularly highlighted during that fight sequence. And let's start with the fact that Tim's first instinct is to tell Lucy to go to safety while he holds the assailants off, knowing full well that his odds of escaping unscathed in that scenario are slim to none… He is seriously ready to sacrifice himself just so she can have a better chance to get out - which isn't even a guarantee… His love for her… And her immediate rebuttal… of course, she isn't about to leave him behind. That's not who she is. And I really appreciate how he doesn't waste time protesting when she refuses. That's the thing I love the most about his protectiveness. It's fierce, but it's never used as a way to undermine Lucy's abilities. It's all about him loving her and wanting her safe. It's all about how much she means to him. But he never tries to stop her either when she disagrees : he respects her way too much for that. He gives her an out and if she doesn't want to take it, then he'll simply be at her side, backing her up. Like on the plane during their undercover mission, when she refused to back down. And that protectiveness goes both ways. Lucy is just as fierce. She was protecting him in so many different ways, right from the start : from himself, covering for him several times, standing up to superior officer's to defend him… And here as well, during the fight : there are several moments when she helps him get the upper hand on his assailants. They both do : when one of them is in trouble, the other is not far behind. They both protect each other and that's the real beauty of their relationship.

And that fight sequence… My only gripe is how they kept shooting in the riot shields, knowing how ineffective it would be. Otherwise, it was everything I didn't know I wanted and then some. It's the way Lucy is the one coming up with the strategies and Tim follows her… It's all these little callbacks to their old battles that make this one even better, like that time she was fighting with the sticks in A.C.H. or when he was using his pepper spray like she did in Standoff… It's how several times Tim leads her by the arm or the vest to get on higher grounds… How he grabs her after she was being strangled… There's something in the way he is holding her, as if he's trying to support her and shield her with his body, while guiding them to safety that is doing things to me… That and the parallel with the Pilot, when Lucy was the one having to guide him to safety after he got shot… And how he was caught completely off-guard by Nolan. There's this split second where they don't know whether it's another wave of masked guys or not. But in that moment, Tim is unprepared. Remember when he blew a gasket when Lucy was holding something in her gun hand in The Q Word? Well, this time, he's the one who makes that mistake : getting her to safety is so much more important that it overrides his training. And the way she instantly raises her weapon, ready to protect them both, while still trying to catch her breath after being strangled… And even once they make it to safety, Tim keeps his hand on her thigh because he needs the reassurance as much as he needs to reassure her… And Lucy who looks like she's about to grab his hand before remembering where they are, looking around everywhere to make sure that they are truly safe… Still in a fight or flight mode, ready to protect them again… God, these two…. Couples that fight together stay together.

Different post from usual but here are my thoughts on whether these guys would make a good finalist in a potential season 3

Saving Damien for last bc I need to work myself up to tackle. that

Axel - Strong play for a finalist. I know a lot of people were rooting for her in s2, and I don't blame them. She's got the strength and determination that a lot of past finalists (Bowie, Priya, Julia) have had, and after the first two seasons she'll be able to work from her mistakes and use them to her benefit. Better balance of physical and social game, y'know?

Emma - NOBODY UNDERSTANDS HER LIKE I DO 💔💔 She would make SUCH a great protagonist & winner for s3. Why? Because she's practically a blank slate in terms of character growth. She got done dirty in s1 and barely got to do anything in s2. She has so much room to grow really well as a character (SEPARATE FROM CHASE) in ways that not many other characters have remaining capability for. Like, what're they gonna do with Priya after such heavy focus on her in both seasons? What'll they do with Julia? With Bowie or Wayne? Emma has the most potential for amazing writing if the writers actually take her seriously this time around. She's bright but vengeful. Friendly but blinded by emotion. She has the same sort of balance of positive attributes and flaws that made Priya such a compelling character in s1, and she could be something beautiful if done right.

Nichelle - A lot of similar reasoning as Axel. She came into the first season with great social game, but her physical game became her downfall. She built up her physical game for the second season, but (in a sense) a lapse in her mental game got her out. Now she's ready for the third season with all three categories honed to be winner material. If she doesn't make it far, I'm sure most of the fandom will riot

Chase - NOBODY UNDERSTANDS HIM LIKE I DO 💔💔 Gosh, he's awful, he's egotistical, he's utter garbage, and he's absolutely perfect villain material. Just think, a villain who's absolutely horrible to people yet holds no actual malice nor awareness of his own actions. It would be so different from every deliberate, calculating villain we've had throughout the seasons. It would take really careful writing, but with a good balance of showing him getting better at the game from the past seasons + still keeping the appeal to his character (comedic-focused narcissist with no self-awareness), he would work really well. I have more to say on him but this post is gonna be long enough as is

Lauren - Not much to say on her, since it's probably obvious. She vowed to take revenge on the cast, and being the main villain of s3 would work well with that. Also, being a finalist would provide the time and opportunity for her to develop more depth in character.

MK - Honestly I'm not as into the idea of her as a villain as the other two, but she could work really well in the role, especially if Julia gets out early and she has to work on her own/gain new allies. It would be neat to see her be forced to adapt to the situation, especially since her tactic of "lying low" wouldn't work too well after the cheating stunt she pulled in s2. Yeah I don't have much to say on her, I probably should've made a slightly lower tier just for her but I'm too lazy to change it now

Zee & Ripper - The category name says it all. I could see either of them in there as a Wayne sort of situation where they're the clear outlier between two serious competitors, but I wouldn't want either of them to win like Wayne did. Maybe Ripper could be developed to be a more serious competitor worthy of winning? But Zee certainly couldn't.

Raj: Listen. Bowie's been a finalist. Wayne's won. I know he's a separate character from both of them, but he's still so heavily connected to them that having him in the next final 3 would feel like a repeat of sorts. It just wouldn't be as fulfilling as other options.

Millie: This is probably bias but honestly,,, wouldn't mind Millie being in final 3 again, especially if she gets second/wins this time around. She was a beautifully written character in season 1, and I would love to see how she would do in another full-season run as separate from Priya. I wanna see her form new bonds, use new strategies, and show she's a far better competitor than she was the past two seasons. But I don't want her to be perfect. I want her to still be deeply flawed, because it's her flaws that make her writing amazing. I want her to take on a role as an imperfect leader of sorts, for her to make her own decisions and form her own method of competing outside of what Priya's taught her. I also wanna see her explored more since she already has great depth of character that could be expanded on

Bowie, Caleb, Julia, Priya, Wayne - Self-explanatory. Keep them out of the s3 finale

Damien - H'oh boy. I have some really complicated feelings about how he would do as a finalist. Subjectively, I love him and want him to win. But objectively, it almost feels... too late? Season 2 wasted the idea of him getting an arc of building up his confidence, which was the most fitting arc for him to undergo. Not only did he lose with his dignity shattered, but he also never made any solid relationships the whole show. The arc of him gaining confidence was reduced to nothing and ended in a wholly unsatisfying way. But still, what is there to do now with him in s3? Is he gonna retain his character growth? If that's the case, how is he gonna grow now? Or will he have lost all his confidence after his embarrassing loss and need to regain it? I'm not sure if I would want to watch a rehash of that. I feel like options for giving him a fulfilling & satisfying plotline in s3 are limited. He's built to be a support character, and while I love the idea of him breaking out of that, I'm still not too sure on the how. Maybe he could aim to not only be more confident, but to also take full control of his own game and be proactive in relationships instead of just supporting people? But he's too forgiving. Too loyal. I don't know if he'd have it in him.

What did you think of Olrox from Nocturne?

Personally, I couldn't care much about him. They put so much focus on him that he's more of a main character than the actual protagonists of Nocturne. Not to mention, his romantic subplot with Mizrak came out of nowhere and it's only there for "diversity", but I considered it to be a waste of time that should've been spent on anything else.

On top of that, it seems like the writers are desperately pushing to make him likeable for someone who killed Richter's mom and caused his trauma in the opening episode. If the writers decide to pull an Abby (from The Last of Us) on N!Olrox and give him a redemption arc or make Richter forgive him enough to not kill him in the next season, I'm gonna riot.

I would say they split Isaac into two characters: Olrox got the alleged moral complexity, and Annette got the favoritism :P

Anyway, in a show that has regressed to the level of "vampires are 100% evil bastards with no souls", quite a far cry from the original show's insistence that vampires are actually a noble superior race with a culture and all, Olrox feels like he wants to recapture that sort of "depth", being evil but still principled enough to fall in love and go against Sun Thundercat. In practice, I stopped taking him seriously the moment he let little Richter live, because my good man, wouldn't a more appropriate revenge against Julia be killing the brat and forcing the mother to live through the pain? C'mon game Isaac understood this! Leaving the child alive and allowing him to grow up with a grudge is so fucking stupid, it was mentioned in the Evil Overlord List written in 1990 😭 "All younger siblings, spouses, children, students, and old army buddies of an enemy I have just killed will be hunted down to prevent them from attacking me at some future point in a quest for vengeance."

I'm also betting that the moment they reveal more of Olrox, or force him to take a stand, he'll lose most of his charm. In S1, his allure comes from him being a wild card, other than him being hot: the moment he becomes yet another one of Richter's allies, he'll have very little for himself other than his sexiness. Kind of like a male Lenore, now that I think about it, although her hotness was enough that she still has fans and Olrox has yet to rape be a BDSM king to Mizrak :P

Speaking of which! I actually don't mind the relationship between the two. One, we finally moved past from the cliché of lesbians solely defined by their relationship cutely holding hands like Striga and Morana. The original show was a coward that played it safe, and it had the chance of giving Alucard a boyfriend if he was meant to be bi for reasons other than making his rape scene more palatable, but no, he got yet another sassy girlfriend. By contrast, the chemistry between Olrox and Mizrak is positively smoldering, and they do have the relationship issues you'd expect from two who jumped into bed before even learning each other's names lmao. At this point, if every character is allowed more love and care than Richer, I'd rather spend time with these two disasters than Maria, Annette or Alucard.

Of course, that doesn't make them great, and it's because Olrox tries too hard to be hot and tragic, and the most memorable thing about Mizrak is that he looks like Agent Stone from the Sonic movies hjdfkshdk - oh, and alright it is very funny that a man of the cloth apparently stops being religious the moment a piece of vampire ass sways in front of him.

Olrox is just keeping the tradition of being an unfairly sympathetic antagonist contrasting a much more shallow one, Carmilla/Sun Thundercat - and while his sin is nothing compared to those other three, the idea that we should blame Julia for killing his vampire bf is just tiring, because 1) in this setting vampires are nothing more than greedy monsters, I don't feel sympathy for one we don't even see in flashbacks; 2) it reminds me too much of Alucard being a cunt to Trevor because the Belmonts kept vampire child skulls in the hold, which was a way to tell us that the Belmonts were "morally grey"; 3) will you stop shitting on the whole Belmont clan for fuck's sake?

Anyway, Olrox is far from being the worst part of the show, but I have no faith in how they're going to develop his character while still keeping up the intrigue.

It's kinda scary seeing how powerful Malleus is. Like, to the point where he can force even Styx issued gear into shut down mode, he's seriously overpowered. Dreams are a very tricky subject, so I don't blame Silver for not knowing much about how his UM works. That being said, I'm ready to learn a little more about Sebek, now that we're in his dream. I'm not his biggest fan atm, but... let's see. I'm hoping my perspective on him changes because he seems like a fun character to explore.

I feel terrible for Silver. Imagine looking at people you've known your entire life, two of them people you look up to and one you've trained alongside, and seeing strangers. Strangers who live in a fairy tale, who want you to join them and live happily ever after, sacrificing your freedom and responsibilities of the real world for an ideal ending. Who wouldn't want to take that chance? Making the choice to go against them, for their own good, is the most difficult thing to do in this situation. Raising your weapon against the one you trained your whole life to protect, fighting against someone who was once your comrade-in-arms.... it's terribly heartbreaking. But, hey, at least we got Sebek to wake up.

It's nice to see Silver taking the lead and being the dependable one. Also, General Lilia!! Been waiting for him since I got spoilers back when I was stuck in Ignihyde's book. I love how his hair transitions from being long and having red streaks to short and cute with pink streaks. Long hair is often associated, at least in my culture, with maturity and a sense of responsibility, while short hair is more fun and child-like. Similarly, red is an intense colour, while pink could technically be seen as a softer, gentler cousin to it. It shows Lilia's change from a warrior to caregiver and I think it's really neat. I just wish he could have seen him in a more adult-like form in the past.

Also known as PA. It's a colonization project that ES, which now has its sights set on national domination, put into motion after SS.

Tori: Colonization?

Yuzuru: It is a historic annual idol festival with a long-standing tradition—It is the largest, most important festival in the idol industry.

... Is how I would answer—But I doubt that you'll be satisfied with such a generic textbook response, correct?

Eichi: Yes. I'm not asking for a formal definition of SS, but rather about its impact on the industry.

Yuzuru: Can you give him an answer, Bocchama?

Hmm. The SS that was held a few days ago was unprecedentedly large-scale, wasn't it?

It spanned the whole country, and we were able to get local and underground idols to actively participate. Thanks to that, the total number of participating idols was higher than ever before.

But, as a result, almost no local idols made it past the qualifying rounds. The final round was completely monopolized by ES, or more accurately, by Yumenosaki.

Yuzuru: Yes. Some local idols made brief appearances in collaboration with Mikejima-sama. But they were the exception.

Eichi: That's right... SS was held with the pretense of an energizing collaboration with local idols all across the country.

In reality, however, it turned out to be more of a farce that only served to flaunt the strength and authority of ES, which in many ways has become the center of the country.

Ultimately, you can say that was ES's intent all along.

The local idols were mere foils—nothing more than casualties positioned to highlight our—the "main idols'"—brilliance.

Naturally, the local idols found this dissatisfying.

The most radical among them have formed what one might call an anti-ES organization, and are now rioting across the country.

Project-ATLANTIS is one measure with which to pacify these hostile anti-ES forces gathered in such places.

Yuzuru: This is quite the belated response.

Eichi: It's certainly better than doing nothing.

When ES was first established, it was falsely advertised as a "utopia for all idols." For that reason, those who did not directly benefit became quite dissatisfied.

ES was supposed to be an ideal world where "all idols" are able to shine. Then, if we really are idols, why can't we shine?

Yuzuru: It's a natural question and a natural complaint.

Eichi: Fufu. In my opinion, people just navely put their faith in ES' exaggerated advertising

Anyway, if this was the Sengoku period, it would be standard practice to suppress such criminal forces with military power.

Tori: I-Isn't it kind of mean to call them criminals...?

Eichi: I consider it an appropiate expression. ES is a nation, and the forces that oppose it are nothing more than bandits and pirates.

However, although ES continues to make strides like Oda Nobunaga, we still haven't conquered the entire country like Tokugawa Ieyasu (*).

We—or rather, mainly Keito—created a model for the student council and then passed it down to Mao, who inherited it.

Tori: As the new president, Isara said that we should actually hold an election.

He said, "I could appoint you, but I don't have much authority, so it'd seem really forced."

If I win the election properly, then I'll be able to attain that kind of authority.

Eichi: That sounds really modern. And it feels like a natural progression.

I like Mao's way of thinking. He understands the limitations of his position—I mean that in a good way.

Oda Nobunaga was a feudal lord who raised war against different clans during one of the most tumultous eras of conflict in Japan. [the doors opens as a black-haired enters to the lab followed by Nellie Yukimura and his children]

Nellie:*hysterical* what's happened to Hanami?!

Eden:*put an arm on him* dad,calm down and let Neko chan speake

[Nekonari nodded as him and Undertaker look at all the family,Nellie was worried to the edge of a breakdown or a attack, Kururi seemed to be horrorified and Eden covered his mouth. Then Aoba approaches to Hanami enoughly to see the mark

The blue-haired turns to Undertaker and Nekonari with a sadness and resignated look]

Aoba:let me guess...the boogeyman finally broke them

Aoba:I'm gonna take that as a "yeah"

Nellie:I should feel suprise but...I can't

Aoba: to be honest dad Nellie,broken hearts are this family's canonical event in this point

Kururi:the thing that should concern us *everyone look at her* is for what happened after our hearts are broken

Aoba:*broken laugh*:we fall more and more into madness with every broken heart, like we were cursed by some love deity

Nekonari: I consulted Ryukyu about this,but like us he never saw something like this before,apparently their heart and lungs are failing but that isn't all

Kururi:is something related to Hana chan soul?

Undertaker:yes,I checked up Hanami's soul and memories,the seal on their memories made by Kunio is parcially remove,the shock and whatever that android did to them broke their heart and showed them some worse memories from their human life

[his children share a concern look,even if they didn't know how was Hanami's life as human,if Kunio sealed those memories without explain should be been very bad...and now with the worse of those memories...]

Nellie:*sighed* now this is really screwed

Eden:just hope this don't affect them very much but would make me a liar

Meta for Face to Face Chapter 54

First off, thank to anyone who read this chapter and this long post. This chapter was one of the most self indulgant things I have ever written. XD So many concert memories went into it. I'll talk about some of them below. There are also links to the songs "performed in the chapter" as well as some videos of each band performing live. As I told my sister after I wrote the scenes at the beginning when the trio met Josh and Travis, writing dialogue for the real people felt like playing with dolls, but in the worst, most embarrassing possible way. (Don't worry, I actually got permission from everyone featured, but more about that at the end). So I watched a lot of videos and tried my best to make everything accurate and use actual quotes when I could.

Chaotic Resemblance- Travis and the rest of the guys are from Oklahoma if that helps with imagining his accent. It's not particularly unique but when I was writing him this chapter and trying to remember how he speaks, that twang is what my brain kept remembering. Travis and all the guys are super nice, awesome to talk to. And on the short list of irl people who know about my fic writing.

Two songs are mentioned in the chapter. First- "Virtual Reality"

And Second- "Riot Anthem". Live video here. The band played this song the first time I saw them and I remember that set vividly for how much fun this song was. It definitely pushed me to run back to the merch table and buy a cd.

Relent- The first song mentioned is "Ghost," of the famed T shirt which I have Danny buy and which I bought irl. XD

"Heavy" - (Video of this song at Uprise 2022). The words I have Miggy say before the song are based on his commentary on the lyric book for their album. "Rape. Sexual Manipulation. Sex Trafficking. The devasting emotions that come with it. This song is my wife’s story, and I'm honored to tell it. She’s been through so much. She has come out victorious, and now her story will help millions, breaking the silence around topics not talked about enough." Admittedly, much heavier (no pun intended) than the blurb in the fic. But when applying the song to Danny and his story, I needed to make some changes.

I have Heavy be a emotionally significant song for Danny in this chapter. When I was thinking about his reaction to each band and songs I wanted to feature, I realized that it made sense for that song to be the token "song you cry to". It just made sense, having previously said that he listened to the album a bunch of times and having him list Heavy as a favorite, that that song would have had an emotional impact. I really wish I had thought to put that fact in the text before now so that little character moment doesn't feel like it come from nowhere. But what are you gonna do? 🤷‍♀️

Also, I have Danny talk to the band a little bit about what the song meant to him, something I've done and seen done with many bands before. The band offers to pray with him and though that has never happened personally with me with Relent (of the 4 bands here, they are actually the one I have seen the fewest times and know the least), I have had other Christian musicianaries (musicians who view their touring and performing as a ministry) offer to pray with me and I have accepted that offer. Not including that moment would have been a disservice, considering how much I love all these groups and respect what they stand for. But I decided to cut away from the actual scene to give a sense of privacy. It felt right for something often so tender.

And the last song, played when Danny first spots Johnny- "Last Days"

GFM- Cries in GFM broken up. 😭 Seriously though, this band consisted of three sisters, who went they started we all teens. I realized after writing the chapter that for the time I am imaging for the story (just before they disbanded last year), calling the oldest two teens would be inaccurate; CJ and Maggie are both in their early twenties. But I decided to keep it since them all being teens would make the group cooler in the Phantom trio's eyes. And I should mention, they're not entirely out of the scene though; the basest and screamer, Maggie, still tours and makes music under her name, Magdalene Rose.

As for the songs featured- The one during sound check is "Give me a Sign"

S.M.I.L.E- (Live video) The song where Jack gets in the circle pit. XD Inspired by my dad getting in circle pit at metal shows. He's 53 now and broke his leg last year, messing up his knee pretty badly, so his moshing days are over. But as recently as Warped tour 2017, he was still doing it. I'm over here too clumsy and short to even think about it; just head banging is good enough for me, thanks. 🤣

And the last song- "I don't need your fantasy" A Sam Manson song if I've ever heard one. Also, this is the song with the famed cupcakes. (Sadly, I couldn't find a video of this on YouTube to demo 😥) I really wanted to write about the ridiculous fanatical joy that comes with having icing and cake thrown at you during a metal show. 🤣 Words can't really capture the experience but I tried.

The Protest- In the chapter, the trio meets Josh at the merch tables before the show. This is very reminiscent of when I met him actually. This was in 2016. My sister and I drove about 2 hrs for the show; they were playing with another band we knew of and we'd heard a few songs by The Protest on a local radio station. We arrived super early and went to the door of the tiny church they were playing in to beg to use the restroom before the doors opened. Josh came right up to us before we even got to the restroom. He introduced himself as Josh, asked our names, shook our hands, and said he was excited we were here tonight. And the whole time, I was thinking about needing to use toilet and didn't even realize who he was until the show started. XD The band was significantly less popular then but I know from going to a dozen plus shows since then, he (and the rest of the guys in the band) are like that with everyone. So I am being absolutly serious in the chapter; Josh Bramlett is one of the kindest, most genuine people I know.

The first song is "Paper Tiger." The sound goes out because of Shadow, during this song and the guitarist stales for time. His name is Adam, nickname Sarge, but I couldn't figure out how to put that in the text. The joke that he tells in the one his real life counterpart suggested when I asked him in March. I also based rest of the what he said during technical malfunctions (the joke about being voted out of the band) during their set when I saw them last October with Disciple.

The next song- "Welcome to the Freakshow" This is my favorite song of theirs to hear live. It's so much fun to head-bang/dance to! Also, Maddie films her son instead of the band, as my mom likes to do to me and my sister. 😝

This message in between the songs- This is word for word part of what Josh said during their set at Kingdom Come Festival 2022; I looked up the video (Message starts at 31:40) and recorded what he said word-for-word to be accurate to Josh and the guy's conviction and the heart behind what they do. It was really important to me that I was authentic there, since I love these guys and what they stand for so much.

And the last song- "Valor." When I was trying to pick which song to end on, I wanted a very specific feeling. I told my sister I was trying to describe that rare moment when you're singing your heart out and you met someone else's eyes and they're singing the same words with the same passion. There's a moment of connection and you know you both believe every single word. I asked what Protest song it should be and she said "Valor." So I went with it.

Guardians of the Children- From their website.

Guardians of the Children is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization comprised of motorcycle enthusiasts  that use motorcycles as tools to help children who have overcome child abuse, ages 0-17, become strong, confident, and courageous again. Once a  child has made an outcry of abuse and the criteria for our support is met, that child is “adopted” into our family as a Little Guardian. Members of G.O.C will escort the child to court, attend school and social events at the child’s request, provide protection and support, and sponsor “Little Guardian” private events, yearly. The goal of these events is to provide a safe space where the Little Guardians can have fun,socialize with others that have experienced similar trauma, and forget for a moment about the fear, doubt, and insecurity that was forced upon them at such a young age. Every child has all the  power and strength within themselves, just like a motorcycle on the  open road, and the biker behind it, we just encourage them to unleash it  as we fight their demons together.

A few years I went to a show they hosted at a local park, featuring GFM and Chaotic Resemblance, hence the similarities to the concert here.

Gotta Rock ‘em all Tour - This is the name of the tour The Protest hosted in March this year, thought the line up was different from the one imagined here (In real life, Behold the Beloved, Relentless Flood, and The Protest). I was lucky enough to see them on this tour. And got to tell the guys about this chapter. 😳😅😊 Honestly, it was one of the most embarrassing thing's I've ever done but in good conscious, I couldn't not say anything, especially since I have talked to Josh about my writing before.

Their song "Greater" had been really important for me, to remind me about why I do what I do. And at KCF last year, I talked with him about that song and our shared conviction for a little bit. From the song:

"I don't do it for the money Don't do it for the fame As long as someone listens, I don't care who knows my name I don't do it for the glory Don't do it for the game I do it all to make them see this is all for something greater than me"

My goal isn't to write for the comments, hits, or bookmarks. Not being well known in the fandom or well liked by people. I write for a greater purse. And this greater thing is Jesus Christ and his kingdom. I love Jesus for who He is and what He's done for me, in and through me (and that is a whole long, complex story there). But a small part: I fervently believe writing these stories is one of the reasons God put me here and gave me the interests I do (yes, including DP) and the talent in writing I have. From the messages I sent to The Protest and the other bands in this chapter, asking if they wanted to take a look at the chapter.

"I write this story for fun and post because I love the characters and the community of other people who do too. But I also see it as a mission field, as a way to write about God's love and grace and show it to people who otherwise wouldn't hear. This chapter is also a love letter to the Christian Rock community as a whole. I love you guys, your music, and the community a lot. The Protest, other bands, and fellow fans have had a huge impact on my life: encouraging me, inspiring me, reminding me of Jesus's love and strengthening my conviction to serve Him. The Protest inspires me to write, ministering in the way I know I've been called."

The point is: I put a lot of heart into this story and all my others. I pray that God will guide my words and be glorified in them. I pray that the people who need to read them will, and they will be encouraged, strengthened and inspired. And most importantly- that God will speak to them, not me. That they will, that you will, see just a hint of His love and grace in what I write and in how I interact with people in this community. I pray that lives will be changed, even in small ways. That seeds will be planted, even if I never see them grow.

I read that there's a rumor that Zarick León will play Armando's lawyer which makes me wonder so many things 🥴 Also, I don't know why it brothers me that neither Betty nor Armando are wearing glasses on the new pictures. This was such a signature for their characters. Dude, I also thought they would have more kids, I think the new writers got lazy and didn't want to add more children to the story. It seems like Camila will be the typical rich spoiled daughter from what I've seen.

I'm trying to be hopeful that it will really pay homage to Fernando Gaitán's legacy, but also trying to be realistic about the fact that sometimes actors just want to get their paychecks even though we envision them as having a lot of fondness for their characters.

Maybe it's because I saw how much of a mess Pasión de Gavilanes 2 was and how they ruined all the main couples' marriages even if they did not dare to break them up for good and had them reconcile, and to think that all the actors were on board to continue the story like that, it doesn't give me high hopes for Betty's new series 😭 Happy to be proven wrong though. Sorry for this nonsensical rant, just needed to vent about everything I'm seeing.

YYEEESS!!! Armando and Betty not wearing glasses REALLY bothers me!! They’re not them without their glasses! Betty looked so adorable with hers and I liked how she had sort of a habit to readjust them when she was nervous. Armando is NOT the same without his glasses!!! Someone mentioned how Armando would remove his glasses when he was being vulnerable (a scene that comes to mind is his and Betty’s first night). This is something that always brought so much tenderness to me cause I feel like he would mostly remove his glasses when he was with Betty🤧 another scene that comes to mind is when he was exposed to the junta. Baby boy looked so sad and vulnerable 😭

In my head B&A had at least three children so when I heard that they only had one child I was devastated! I feel like Armando would’ve loved to have as many kids as he can with Betty. So in my head I feel like they returned because they only feel a sense of obligation. It doesn’t help that I saw another interview from the past and they mentioned how they did feel pressured because they wanted to do a good job on portraying their characters well. Ik that everyone experience pressure in different ways but I just hope that the cast actually care about their characters and speak up to the writers if they feel like something is off. One thing I liked about the filming in ysblf is that the cast did had the privilege to voice out their opinions and share their ideas!

I’ve actually never watched Pasión de Gavilanes but I did hear that they didn’t get good reviews and that some of the actors from that series are gonna appear on the ysblf sequel. And yea I’m scared! Like how you said if the actors were on board in working on a series with a bad storyline then I’m kinda scared for the new sequel (they for sure are in it for the money -_-). Either ways I have low hopes for the new sequel. Ever since I heard that they’re going with the amnesia plot I kinda lost interest for the plot itself 😬 I’m only looking forward to B&A’s interactions, I’m really hoping for some nice steamy kiss scenes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

One thing I like about this season, is that Hai Yi is fully aware of Johnny's time travel situation. Reading the synopsis of the season, I was worried that was gonna be some big secret that gets revealed towards the end. Now, does that ease my "Make Our Days Count" paranoia, with the possibility of us getting a sad ending? HELL NO! But I'm glad that's not gonna add to it.

I am very glad that the entire thing has been very upfront but I'm seriously wondering what happened to the supernatural being that didn't kill him and what, exactly, is happening with him and what the ending will be.

My current happy ending theory is that both Bo Wei and Johnny Dai were meant to die in that moment and either switched bodies or just Bo Wei came forward and took the body for his own, thus leaving him free to remain in the future with no backlash due to Hai Yi's wish and that he will learn that going back to the past means being dead like he's supposed to be and there's no way he'll be able to go back and take care of his grandmother.

Fingers crossed for a happy ending for them.

But I will riot if our soft office boys don't get a happy ending. Riot.
