Artist Wanted for: Smiling Critters Apocalypse AU
Tumblr media
I'm looking for some artists to help me create some Smiling Critters for my own Smiling Critters AU, Smiling Critters Apocalypse.
They will be called the Dark Creatures as they all represent the Smiling Critters but in a more darker path like the Smiling Psychopaths except they will all be based on the characters from the Bloody Bunny series, which is how I got the name for the Dark Creatures from Bloody Bunny's the Dark Bosses.
So I will lay out each name for the Dark Creatures, which are actually villain names for them since they will still have their original names in this AU. They will also be based on various characters from both the Bloody Bunny Series and a few characters from other fandoms.
What I need you to do is to make a concept art on all 8 of the Smiling Critters aka the Dark Creatures and I'll make sure to credit you for your work.
CatNap aka Sleep Demon: Based on Dark Rabbit
DogDay aka Eclipse Hound: Based on Death from the Puss in Boots Movie - The Last Wish
CraftyCorn aka BloodyCorn: Based on Razor Mane
PickyPiggy aka The Butcher: Based on ByeBye Kitten
Bobby Bearhug aka Death Bear: Based on Serious Kuma
Hoppy Hopscotch aka Killer Bunny: Bloody Bunny
KickinChicken aka Cluck KickinHawk: Based on Kickin' Hawk from Ben 10 Omniverse
Bubba Bubbaphant aka Dr. Damage: Based on Dr. Kikky
Let me know what you made as a concept for the Dark Creatures and I will decide if they are perfect for the AU.
Thank you and good luck,
NeoDracunyan

One Piece Chapter 1100 Thoughts!
I wanted to start making things that aren't shitposts (and I don't have anyone to talk about them with) so I'm gonna start posting my thoughts and what I like about the new chapter each week! Obviously, chapter 1100 spoilers below...
Tumblr media
I don't think I'll ever get over how damn silly Vegapunk looks before he sets up his brain antenna. I giggle every time i see him, it's so goofy. Also, Kuma's bounty here being about the same as Luffy's when they fatefully meet is interesting to me. I love how bounties in OP don't care about powerscaling. And Kizaru needs to lose the fedora. He looks greasy.
Tumblr media
Chapter after chapter Kuma is only becoming more likeable to me. Like obviously he would only care about Bonney being cured, but seeing it is still very moving.
Tumblr media
Man, Saint Saturn better have a serious ass-kicking coming his way. As good as this flashback is, I can't wait to get back to the present to see what happens (and to probably get emotionally devastated considering Kuma's current day actions).
Tumblr media
Lmao get fucked Senomaru.
Tumblr media
Seeing these five enjoying their time together while Kuma and Bonney go through their treatments is super interesting to me. We've already seen Sentomaru siding with Vegapunk against the WG and this helps us see why. Now I'm wondering if Kizaru will have a change of heart... idk!
Tumblr media
👀 Kizaru, you better hope the bosses don't see this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damn you Oda.
Tumblr media
Its cool to see everyone's reaction to Kuma becoming a Warlord, but I'm just thinking of how much I miss the cowboy hat...
Tumblr media
Wait...
Tumblr media
HIS FLAG IS HER DRAWING????? COME ON! 😭
Tumblr media
I would've never guessed that we'd end up here this chapter ngl. I can't wait to see what Kuma does at Foosha Village. Does he know about Luffy eating the Nika fruit? Is it a coincidence? I guess we'll find out in next week's chapter!

As I promised, I'm going to say some headcanons for my BBU ocs...
Lunar:
• she/her
• she's pansexual
• actually Lunar is not just a normal tiger... She's a dark Yo-kai tiger! So that means she's immortal
• have you seen the blue random color in her fur? Yeah... Those are burning scars when she was alive....
• She's very silly and unsuspicious most of the times
• fun fact: Lunar can take off her head and hold it as much time as she wants-
• her magic is the blue gem's dark magic
• with the gem, she can summon blue mini sharp moons, create black holes and using a big blue moon as a flying skateboard and much more that are inspired by the galaxy...
• Lunar might be innocent and adorable, but don't pissed her off... Because you don't want to see her dark side......
• oh! She has also shapeshifting abilities, which means she can be anyone she wants or an animal
• she cares about Kuma very much, he is the only friend that she has...
• Lunar LOVES hugs!
Kuma:
• he/him they/them
• he's aroace and non-binary
• they don't have a good backstory...
• Kuma lost his sister in very young age and their vocal cords were removed.....
• Kuma has dark magic
• he's the opposite of Billie, I think..?
• I mean... They can create fire, being invisible, he can fly, create a magical shield and causes large magic explosions
• speaking of magic explosions, he has control of his magic explosions, so that means they can cause them any time they want....
• how he can talk, even though his vocal cords were removed? Why, they put a voice box for him!
• he likes to be a boss sometimes
• they try their best to be a caring person but is hard for him to be...
• he is very close with Lunar... They've been close friends for a very long time ago
• Lunar hugged him many times, he doesn't mind
• Kuma is very serious most of the times, but that doesn't mean he can be silly too!
YAY!!! I wanted to show those headcanons a very long time ago and now I finally got the chance!!

Julia anon, I just thought the idea of Julia & Jin would be cute, but I suppose the fact Julia was a secret character instead of a base roster character in Tekken 3 kind of only added some separation to them, at least in my mind, since why care about the bonus character if they have to be unlocked?
But I most came to the conclusion of "Jin & Julia should have been friends at least" because it felt like they only made Julia to be Michelle's stand-in with some story continuation of the Chang story before trying to figure a direction for her in later games.
Though on idea I'd have would be a gameplay thing, only thanks to the foresight of Tekken 5 having her try to reason with King to drop his grudge against Marduk, and her becoming JayCee in Tag 2 would be having it so in-story and gameplay, Julia would have more wrestling moves into her move-set than she did already because she would have been training with King and Armor King (before AK's death by Marduk) to help become stronger in the two-year gap between Tekken 3 & 4 because if she is to help Jin, she wants to be able to help combat the Tekken Force better should they get involved.
Again, just my ideas for her, I also have ideas for what I'd have done for 4's roster as a whole, and some ideas for my Tekken 5 as a result of what I'd have done, which includes dropping Jinpachi for a returning Ogre.
Considering they made her an e-girl streamer in TK7, it still kinda feels like they don't know what to do with her character. And really, Tekken 3 was filled with more characters meant to replace the legacy than just Julia. Jin was obvs meant to replace his parents, more so Kazuya. (As apparently, Jun was legit planned on the game but was scrapped) and Forest was meant to replace Marshall. And well, King II replaced King I, and Kuma II replaced Kuma I. For some reason, Forest was replaced back with Marshall in the later games yet Julia stayed instead of Michelle. I'm not sure why they used Marshall again? Maybe his character received better reception despite the fact that Forest looked damn near identical to Marshall lol. Of course, Julia remained because older women scare the series.
I think Jin and Julia definitely would've been friends. I actually had an old headcanon that I never really utilized on this blog that Jun was friends with Michelle during the second tournament. And although they never saw each other in person again (due to one living in the States and the other in Japan) - Jun still kept in touch with Michelle long distance, through writing letters. I thought about Julia being Jin's pen pal because of this.
These ideas sound pretty interesting! Honestly, I would've loved to see the JayCee persona become canon over her streamer persona. It was more interesting imo, and I preferred the design. Plus, it gives us a female wrestler.
Aw, but Jinpachi is cool. However, I do find it kinda weird that we haven't seen Ogre's return yet. After all, Azazel came back before Ogre??? Literally the most infamous boss in the series??? I get that Azazel is the origin of the devil gene, but still. As somebody who has my own ideas for my own adaptation of the games, I'm interested in your ideas! Although, I'd say my own aren't as canon divergent... but I guess I do have some different ideas. (Obviously, T6 would be the one I change the most due to not agreeing with it in the first place, and making Devil J the actual antagonist instead of Jin. But I also have ideas of how Asuka will actually play a big role in T5 and T6 and she'll actually be very important. As well as weird ideas such as Lucky Chloe being involved in T6 instead of T7, and Paul being a more serious character who DID win the 3rd tournament (even if Jin beat Ogre's final form) and him going through his "rich asshole" phase like we saw in his T4 ending. Among other ideas I have.) What are your ideas? Why would Ogre return and how? :>

hey there! did you watch the latest episode already?? kuma and iketeru are my favorite characters! if you don’t mind may i ask your opinion on their relationship? (i enjoy reading your character analysis) thanks!
Hello anon! Sorry for replying just now, I’ve been pretty busy lately 😖.
I suppose you are talking about episode 7 and yes I watched it and I loved it!
Iketeru and Kumatani’s dynamic is one of my favorites ones so I’m happy to answer this ask. Please be warned that there may be some spoilers if you haven’t read the manga yet.
——
Right off the bat I must say that when it comes to these two, I see their relationship as an older brother/younger brother dynamic.
In the manga we are shown that Kumatani is the eldest son in his family and that he’s pretty close to his little brother, Hachita (in fact, it’s thanks to him that he decided to take up kyūdō back in high school).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m bringing this up because I believe it’s a really important fact to understand better his whole personality and not just his relationship with Iketeru.
Kumatani is a serious, observant and mostly calm person but he’s also a pretty overprotective brother.
In some of the latest chapters (not yet translated in English) you can see him fussing and worrying over his little brother, who’s kind of an airhead/naïve guy just like Iketeru:
Tumblr media
(Poor Usahara, he can never win lmao).
He also hates to see others being taken advantage of or put into uncomfortable situations (like when he talked about how much he respects the girls working in bars for refraining from punching rude costumers) and he isn’t afraid of acting on his personal values (he stood up to the director during the summer shooting and also to his previous boss):
Tumblr media
----
Tumblr media
So, given his personality, I think that when it comes to Iketeru −who’s a little slow and too innocent/kind for his own good at times− he can’t help his big brother instincts from kicking in:
- He cheers him up when he makes a mistake in the filming set.
Tumblr media
- He protects (?) him from Uramichi and Usahara’s occasional pranks.
Here I’m posting two of my favorite scenes: when he stopped Uramichi from telling Iketeru that Santa’s not real and when he got annoyed with Usahara for making dick-jokes in front of Iketeru lmao.
Tumblr media
----
Tumblr media
- Since Iketeru’s a lightweight but has a hard time saying ‘no’ when someone offers him alcohol, Kumatani always helps him by distracting the other person and drinking in his stead.
Tumblr media
At the same time, Iketeru is the youngest in his family so I think he’s used to being the “little brother”, which makes him feel pretty comfortable around Kumatani to the point where he has no problem asking him for help or giving him atrocious gifts like the Inu t-shirt lmao:
Tumblr media
----
Tumblr media
And that’s it 😊. I find their interactions really sweet and hope to see more of it in the next volumes!
----
Extra panel ft. Uramichi:
Tumblr media
“You are a very good boy. Yes, you are~”
(I love that Kumatani’s way of cheering other people up is by ruffling their hair 😂❤).
----
Thanks for the ask! 💕

Yaay I get to ask you stuff!
2. Most hated character?
3. Favorite romantic ship with Shachi? And with Bonney?
16. If you could change one thing in One Piece (the story or the world), what would it be?
ask away sensei~ I am prepared to answer all.
BUT BEWARE ALL WHO ENTER!!
This will end up long winded and preachy just like my tags and fic comments.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
2. Most hated character?
believe it or not it’s not Blackbeard lol. I’m actually kind glad he exists and while I wish we had seen more of Thatch (it’s crazy he literally has like TWO panels in the manga and he’s super duper popular throughout the fandom, it’s so great). I hate quite a few characters, mostly because they suck or they pissed me off, but my top two are Nami and Bartholomew Kuma.
Why Nami? She’s kinda.... meh to me. Don’t get me wrong, I like that there are some normies in the plot that aren’t just naturally superhuman like Zoro and Sanji (but then we learn it’s haki and biological experimentation). Usopp’s a normie (his ammo is not), Tashigi and Kuina seem pretty normal to me (just very skilled with swords). Bartolomeo is pretty normal (he just has a janky devil fruit). I’m not really sure what it is, I had already disliked her before I discovered them diehard Nami haters (are they even still around, I never followed any of that). She was cool at first but I think the timeskip ruined her for me. Hard to explain. Hatred for Nami 7/10.
Bartholomew Kuma........ Kuma Kuma Kuma. Where the fuck do I start with this? I’ve had blow ups with Cyriusli about this a few times whenever his ass popped back up in the story line or in rando memes. I didn’t mind him in Thriller Bark, thought he was a good add-in to the whole ‘fuck around and find out’ bits. I love the memes of Zoro figuring out that his sacrifice was pointless because Kuma wasn’t really going to kill his boss’ son. Those are hilarious! It was during the time skip when we learned about Kuma, about him being a Revolutionary, when Ivankov got mad in the flashback, when we saw him guarding the Sunny, when he was a slave to the Celestials. It actually took me a couple of years and some talks with Cyriusli until I realized that Kuma planned all of this. How I didn’t notice before I have no clue, but everything he did, he did just full intention. He made deals with Vegapunk to experiment on him (consent), he sent the Straw Hats to islands that were perfect for their growth (you think he knew Sanji hated okama or was he just thinking “oh this boy is a cook, Iva-chan has all these amazing recipes he made for us before, this young cook will benefit from this” and just sent Sanji’s homophobic ass off to Twirling Heart Island. I also think he knew full well about Zoro’s plans to fight Mihawk so that must have been a last attempt at being a troll before becoming a mindless drone). And his last wish before losing all control was to protect the Sunny. What the serious fuck Kuma? How are you benefiting from this?? This is where I get mad. Why didn’t you tell Ivankov and Inazuma (oh btw I ship KumaZuma)? Why the lies? Why the deceit? Who are you trying to protect? I asked all these questions and thought of something.
NEW THEORY: He sent Franky to one of Vegapunk’s abandoned labs... He sent Franky to learn ALL ABOUT Vegapunk’s experiments. Bastard is banking on Franky being able to turn him back. That’s what it is. At first maybe he didn’t see a way out, but then he saw Franky and the Sunny at Thriller Bark, and of course he follows the news and learned about the new crewmate, he knows what Franky’s capable of. He finally agreed to Vegapunk’s terms and gave up, hoping the Straw Hats might save him. Now that’s a huge gamble but we all know Franky is a man of honor and might volunteer to do it. My hatred for Kuma went from 10/10 to 8/10, but I still don’t like him.
3. Favorite romantic ship with Shachi, or Bonney?
ho ho ho, before I got into KilGuin I was shipping Penguin with Shachi, and Killer with Bonney. I think the whole KilBon came from some old fanart when we were first introduced to the Supernova and also the fact that his fave food is pasta, and her fave food is pizza. I just imagined them owning an Italian resto together and said that’s the ship, done. Not the case anymore because I see Bonney as more of a lesbian or bisexual, but cares more about food than sex so it is was it is with her. I shipped Penchi because I liked the idea of them being childhood friends and they share a room in the sub and while they might not be exclusive to one another, they do often do dirty stuff together as a mutual “I scratch your back you scratch mine” kinda thing but they’re too close and too stupid to admit any real romantic feelings to the other. But they’re fine, they go to brothels together and dabble in the occasion threesome. [These are very old ideas, not sure if I’ll continue this when I write my monster fic.]
16. If you could change one thing in One Piece (the story or the world), what would it be?
As mentioned earlier I would have liked to see more of Thatch and who he was as a person. It’s confirmed that he’s a chef but I think we all deserve to see his talents showcased. Also how he interacted with the crew. Lot’s of fics and art depict him being super childish and playing pranks with Ace, making fun of Marco (aka Whitebeard’s parrot lol), and dancing with Izou. I love how the fandom made him into a real person but I crave to see him in official work.
I’d also like to see passed villains come back to the main plot. We see Foxy come back twice in fillers and in some movies, Crocodile came back in Impel down, Buggy is always around the lovable idiot. But I want to know more about Morgan and Klahadore, where did they go? What about Don Krieg? Did Mihawk chop him up and dump his body? What about Gin? We see Gin so much in fanfic, even in new released fics but he’s not been back since in the manga. What will happen if Morgan and Helmeppo meet again? Jango became a marine and I bet Morgan became a pirate lol.
SPOILERS: I think Eneru should make an appearance again with the happenings in the latest chapters.
In the world? Not sure... I theorize gravity is lower on OP Earth than ours, just by a little bit. Just enough to make us jump higher and fall slower but not affect our health too much, as the atmosphere will thin out a bit and it will be more difficult to breathe. (I imagine someone from our world would die if they go to Skypiea). (I was really excited to see this visualized in the new film Bubble, it’s on Netflix if you want to watch it~) so if this isn’t the case then i would change it to this.
My SO theorizes that the Void Century is like the missing history here in the Philippines. When the Spaniards came, they stayed for 333 years and they destroyed a lot of indigenous landmarks, tribes and nearly erased our mythology. There’s a lot that has been lost but luckily the Spanish didn’t go everywhere (we got over 7000 islands). It’d be cool if this was the inspiration (also Gray Terminal’s pollution is based on Manila).

Chart from Which Anime Boy Would I Sleep With?
Which Seven Warlords Would I sleep with?
Let’s start with the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Which Shichibukai would I, personally, like to fuck, and are they top or bottom?
Dracule Mihawk
He looks pretty clean, he has a unique style and very distinguished facial features, as well as nice abs. Strongest swordsman or not, I would fuck him. That’s a solid yes. He looks like he’d be a top, so he’s going in that quadrant.
Bartholomeo Kuma
He’s not really my type. I’d theoretically fuck him, if say he wanted me to thank him for what he’s done for the Straw Hats and I didn’t know how else to repay him. I like how dedicated he is when it comes to protecting the Straw Hats, so sure, why not. I don’t know if he’d be a top or a bottom, though.
Boa Hancock
Given her track record of turning men into stone, I’m a bit hesitant to even look at her. Plus, the only person she’d like to fuck is probably Luffy. I’m going to go with No, Would Not Like To Fuck. She definitely tops, though.
Edward Weevil
I have no idea who this is. He’s listed in the wiki, so I put him in. Based on looks, I definitely would not want to fuck him. And since I know nothing about him, I don’t know if he’d be top or bottom.
Sir Crocodile
He doesn’t look that great, but he’s got this roguish charm to him. He looks like a mafia boss. There’s probably some kind of obscure kink for that. Would I fuck him? Hell, yeah, he’s got the kind of personality I’m attracted to, and he’s strong and powerful, which makes him sexy. He’s definitely a top, too.
Gecko Moria
Imagine being around zombies all day long. Imagine the smell. Look at him, he’s one gigantic onion. I would not like to fuck him. And for some reason, he strikes me as the type who “tops” from the bottom.
Trafalgar Law
Dude. Would I fuck my second favourite character? You betcha! He’s one pretty looking lad, he’s got the sexy, sexy brains, and he’s got some serious backbone to stand up to Doflamingo and then go through with defeating Kaido. There’s absolutely no reason not to fuck him. He’s probably somewhat of a top, though I can see him power bottoming, too. I’m going to go with top, but just a bit.
Donquixote Doflamingo
Right now he’s my favourite character. He just does things to me, and by things I mean makes me horny af. He’s smart as hell, enough to figure out quickly what Law’s plans are, and he’s probably even more cunning than Law. He’s got the abs of gods, and he looks like he can do a lot of things with his hands and tongue. And he’s blond, like a Greek god. I would hop on his dick at lightning speed. And there’s not a shred of bottom in him. He’s such a top that he would be off the charts.
Jinbei
He’s a good man, so I would probably fuck him based off his personality, but his looks really aren’t my type. Plus he doesn’t really seem like a sexy kind of guy to me. I’m going to put him right there for his personality, and he seems like a top.
Marshall D. Teach
Okay, I hold a grudge to him for capturing Ace. And he looks... bad. Like he hasn’t showered for days. No, I won’t fuck him. For some reason, he looks like a bottom.
I forgot Buggy!
He’d probably go in the middle in between Jinbei and Kuma. Without his clown makeup, I would fuck him, but not as desperately as some of the hotter characters on here. I’m not really into clowns, but he’s more fuckable than Jinbei, so. He seems like a switch!

And for Dr. Kikky, is there only four Dark Bosses or are there other Dark Bosses and also are there other dolls besides Kikkys?
“Me loves Kikky as a friend!”

“Me ok with the dark bosses. Except Serious Kuma….me no like him.”

“If you’re talking about other leaders from other factories then there more than likely are other leaders out there. I personally don’t know any, but I have no trouble believing that there are other bosses out there. Not sure if they’re connected with the dark bosses though. Luffy and Zoro, equality presented by Wano Arc...?
The feeling of equality between Luffy & Zoro has been sitting on my mind a lot lately, so I finally decided to write down my chaotic thoughts on that matter.
First, to be precise: I’m not talking about power levels between Straw Hats because One Piece proved on many occasions that power alone is not a good measure how one character will fare in a fight or that beating X does not automatically guarantee beating Y. In Thriller Bark Perona took down Luffy, Sanji, Zoro and Franky without a problem, but lost to Usopp out of all people. At the same time, Luffy, Zoro and Sanji will always be the main fighters of Straw Hats no matter the gap of power between them. Everyone is powerful on their own, but they may fare better in different fighting settings. I personally tend to think that Luffy and Zoro are closer to each other in terms of power, raw strength and will, but this is not exactly the matter of equality I wish to talk about. What I wish to talk about is how the Wano arc set Luffy and Zoro apart from the rest of the crew in a more tangible (visual) way.
Even before Wano Arc, Luffy and Zoro were singled out by narrative on various occasions. The most memorable is: the first meeting with Shichibukai (and Mihawk acknowledging them both), taking a beating in Mock Town to Nami’s dismay and Bellamy Pirates’ amusement, earning the title of Supernova and with that becoming part of the Worst Generation, independently attacking Charlos/Tenryūbito (though sadly, Zoro was stopped by Bonney) or killing together a dragon on Punk Hazard. In all cases, Luffy and Zoro were set apart from the rest of the crew and even other pirates, sharing unspoken understanding of other actions and needs or becoming a part of something bigger and more dangerous.
Luffy will always be the captain (leader) and as the main character, the hero saving the day at the end of the arc. At the same time, Zoro may never be officially called the vice captain by other crew members (which is fair, Straw Hats Pirates don’t care nor have any need for ranks) but narrative puts him as the protector of crew (i.e. Kuma), the leader in the absence of Luffy what consistently is marked by narrative boxes (i.e. “Zoro team”,”Zoro side”) and the layout of frames (Zoro taking the central position that normally belongs to Luffy) or even having some confrontation with the final boss (Arlong, Hody). Zoro is also treated like the voice of reason; even if his words are harsh and emotionless, he will speak what must be said for the Luffy and crew’s sake (Alabasta, Davy Back Fight Arc, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Zou). He is also the one that provides Luffy comfort and support in dire situations (Usopp leaving the crew).
Luffy cares equally about his nakama, yet the narrative likes to single out Zoro as someone usually standing by him but also as someone taking Luffy’s position of captain very seriously. Further details adding to the feeling of equality set up by narrative include the visuality of their most notable scars (under left eye/left eye and middle of chest), the running joke of people mistaking Zoro for an actual captain of Straw Hats Pirates or acknowledging him as a dangerous “beast”, Luffy and Zoro’s very similar mindset and attitude towards fighting powerful enemies and all the parallels in which both captain and first mate* did the same things on various points in the manga or color spreads/covers (x)(x)(x)(x)(x)(x).
In general, the story established how despite their different nature of extrovert and introvert,  Luffy and Zoro are similar when it comes to the serious and trivial matters about whose I could talk for days. What is vital though, for years such treatment of Zoro created the feeling of equality between him and Luffy. Not in the power sense per se because narrative has never been objective about that, but how they progress from rookies to men getting closer and closer to fulfilling their dreams.
And now the Wano Arc seems to single them out in ever more visible ways.
For one, anime dropped the individual eye catchers for the whole crew, except for Luffy and Zoro. At the end of each, all Straw Hats are showed standing together:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In both cases, Zoro is on Luffy’s right and both carry similar looking katanas: Kitetsu II and Sandal Kitetsu III. The swords may have different colors, but their tsuba have the same patterns, which double the feeling of equality between those two.
Manga provides similar moments, starting with chapter 912
Tumblr media
and cover of volume 91 (which was used for Luffy’s eye catcher apparently) and inside illustration included in volume 92
Tumblr media
Then from all the crew, only Luffy and Zoro were pretending to be ronin (the masterless samurai), seen in box info
Tumblr media
while the rest Straw Hats played the role of ninja (Chopper), kunoichi (Nami), ghost (Brook), geisha (Robin), toad oil salesman (Usopp), carpenter (Franky) and soba cook (Sanji). Even Law, another Supernova and equal to Luffy, hid his identity pretending to be some sort of wandering monk. And thinking logically, Law would be better ronin because unlike Luffy, he knows how to use sword in fight.
Another visually prominent detail - Zoro and Luffy are the only one Straw Hats who have kimonos with ornaments resembling the sun that may be a symbol of the coming dawn, foretold by Lady Toki. A dawn that will end Kaido and Orochi’s reign on Wano.
Tumblr media
Luffy’s ornament is straight taken from the crest of the Kozuki clan (and resembling the symbol Alabasta Kingdom). I have much more to tell about Zoro’s design but that will need wait for another time. For now, though it looks much sharper is no less reminiscent of the same solar symbol. Adding to the sign their status of ronin and we may call Luffy and Zoro, figuratively speaking, the samurai bringing sun (hope, new era, peace) to a country plunged in darkness, most likely in nearest future fulfilling late Kozuki Oden’s desire to defeat Kaido and open Wano  to world.
Of course, all Straw Hats, Heart Pirates, Minks and people of Wano are working together to defeat Kaido but Luffy and Zoro were visually set apart from everyone from the beginning of the arc. There is also their personal, strong connection to Oden’s children: Momonosuke and Hiyori who both were very impressed and protected by Luffy (Momonsuke) and Zoro (Hiyori).
Another detail binding Luffy and Zoro more to Oden and setting them apart from the rest of characters are new things they have acquired through the course of the arc. Namely, the better understanding & advanced techniques of Busoshoku Haki (Luffy) and late Oden’s great sword Enma (Zoro). Both things are capable of hurting Kaido.
Usually, during the arc, Luffy gets separated from the crew for the longest part of the story. And indeed, he gets struck first in prison (where he managed to win over imprisoned there samurais) and now, during battle, is running to face Kaido escorted only by Jimbei and Sanji (who wandered away in chapter 997). Surprisingly, Zoro too was separated by quite a long period of time, in which he met and befriended Yasue, Hiyori and Toko before he rejoined the crew for the final battle. Luffy and Zoro are the Straw Hats that openly admit they want to face Kaido in fight.
Another detail setting them apart from the rest of the crew: interacting with (and in case of Zoro, beating down) other Supernovas. They met Hawkins at the beginning of arc and fought him (Sanji too, met Hawkins and Drake once in public baths but ran away, securing Nami, Robin and Shinobi well being), then Killer and Kid before and during battle, Apoo and Drake which whom they had small crash, but now Drake were working with Roronoa against Apoo. Ironically, Drake is a friend with Coby who is a friend of both Luffy and Zoro. Coby literally met those two before Nami debuted. Also, the Supernovas allied with Luffy are learning in hard way that dealing with Zoro is not less stressing that working with Luffy.
How the Wano arc will turn out will show the upcoming chapters, for now though, not only Straw Hat has a strong connection to people of this land. For one, there is Tama, that both Luffy and Zoro came to like very much and literally started wreaking havoc in enemy territory because of her. Twice. Then there is mentioned connection to Oden - symbolic samurais of dawn and carrying Momonosuke and Hiyori’s wish to defeat Kaido and save the country but also Zoro’s personal connection to Shimotsuki clan that was hinted time after time and briefly explained in SBS that may or may not play bigger role, especially since Shimotsuki clan support Kozuki family. Which only adds to the whole connection between Luffy and Zoro and (good) people of Wano.
I feel like Wano arc was set up to establish the equality of Luffy and Zoro, not in the power sense that so many fans love to argue about, but as the relationship between them. Not just as captain and (powerful) subordinate but more like partners, the way Roger and Rayleigh or Kid and Killer are seen. The manga put a lot effort in creating parallels and the visual similarity between those two characters to dismiss the potential hints of Luffy and Zoro slowly falling apart from the crew in the sense of the role they will play in this and maybe future arcs.

Ravnica for Goblins
The Azorius Top Ten Most Wanted
Navigating the social dynamics of a city where demons run nightclubs, lich run food stamps, ghosts run banks, and a dragon runs utilities can be a daunting & confusing experience. One can’t roll initiative every time one sees a minotaur in a china shop, or a vampire at the post office, or a giant covered in barbed wire and blood in a dark alleyway. These are everyday occurrences in Ravnica and odds are if you attack any of them on general principle, it is you the cops will be arresting. You don’t want to find yourself in the situation where you’ve attacked a Medusa shopping on Tin Street and they inform the Azorius Arresters that they will be pressing charges against you.
But fear not! For there are still plenty of threats one can absolutely go to town on! All of the individuals listed below are recognized as wanted criminals by the Azorius Senate. Meaning bringing any of them in can bring one renown among the lawmages, reputation on the streets, and/or coin in the pocket. This could be your ticket to recognition and glory! Just make sure you know what you’re getting into with these individuals. The reward means little if you’re dead.
#10 Ritjit, aka "Ogre Jailbreaker"
Affiliation: Guildless
Crimes: Break-in at Vitu-Ghazi (Selesnya Guildhall), destruction of Tin Street, and escape from Udzec Maximum Security Prison. Target is considered armed and dangerous, but not particularly intelligent.
Ritjit wrecked 81% of Tin Street’s market stalls in under 20 minutes, meaning he’s both faster and more destructive than your average ogre. He’s also a notch above your average ogre in terms of intelligence. While that isn’t saying much, believe me when I say you will prefer your ogres stupid. This is the difference between an animal and an animal that’s discovered how to use tools. Ritjit’s iron ball & chain combines range and destructive power. Expect serious property damage, substantial speed, and a whopper of a multiattack.
Recall the old adage, “I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow to the knee”, but replace “arrow” with “100lb iron ball” and “be an adventurer” with “have legs”. Give the #10 spot the respect he deserves.
Last seen in the vicinity of Selesnya’s Saproling Nursery.
#9 Ruzi & Kuma
Affiliation: Formerly Selesnya Conclave
Crimes: Theft & destruction of Azorius files, arson, assault with trained wolf as a deadly weapon, transportation of contraband across rooftops.
A single Ledev Guardian isn’t that great of a threat. What you’re essentially fighting is a Knight riding a Dire Wolf. Their true strength comes in numbers, formation, and cooperation. A Ledev acting alone must rely on stealth and precision to gain the upper hand in a situation, so count on some serious Stealth and Investigation skills. Speed and Acrobatics as well, given their escape via rooftops. Odds are, any encounter with these two will be less of a fight, more of a chase.
Ruzi & Kuma are rogue operatives on a mission pertaining to the Cult of Rakdos. The exact details are unclear, as the fires used for distraction and escape caused damage to much of the floor, thus complicating the process of which files were taken and which burned. Speculations that it has to do with the massacre of Selesnyan missionaries in the Rubblebelt by a Rakdos assassin are, just that, speculations.
Current whereabouts unknown.
#8 "Lotleth Troll"
Affiliation: Golgari Swarm
Crimes: Non-ritualistic cannibalism, resisting arrest.
The Lotleth Troll is a former corpse eater who decided to save a step and eat other corpse eaters, then random citizens, then law enforcement officers attempting to bring him in. His hunting has effectively shut down all nighttime transport in the Canal District, and his use of the Ravnican pipes system has allowed him to evade capture.
Picture a Troll. Now strip back some skin, add in some Golgari Fungi providing both protection and camouflage, and throw in a trapper-spider method of stalking prey. Now make him a cannibal. Congratulations, you now have pure nightmare fuel for the average Ravnican citizen.
What we have here is an ambush predator that combines savagery, tenacity, durability, and elusiveness. If you fail to take it down in one shot, it breaks for the sewers and pipes. Its troll genes will allow it to regenerate quickly so that by the time you chase it down, it’s back to full health, has homefield advantage, and has gained the element of surprise you’ve lost. High strength for grappling prey, inherent stealth, easy navigation of its surroundings, and if there’s a nastier way to die than being eaten alive in a sewer pipe, I don’t want to know what it is.
The one light in this darkness is that the creature is not particularly choosy about its victims. Its career began out of impatience, so drawing it out may be the easiest part of dealing with it. That said, few want to volunteer as bait for a rogue corpse eater.
#7 Senka, aka "Stealer of Secrets"
Affiliation: Unknown
Crimes: Breaking & entering, theft (contents unknown), agitating the wildlife.
The one called Senka is a Guildless operative with the nerve to rob House Dimir. While the shadowy Guild claim the Dinrova building to be open to the public, in reality only the lobby has full access. The higher floors and particularly the basement are strongly warded to prevent intruders of all caliber.
And this woman slipped passed them all, walked out of the building with a lumpy parcel described as moving, and set loose a Horror kept in the basement to cover her escape. It tore through the lobby, broke out into the streets, and devoured a passing Orzhov Debt Transport (think bulky, land-based Nazgul).
What we have here is clearly someone with extensive knowledge of Arcana, Perception, Stealth, Sleight of Hand, and apparently some remarkable Animal Handling. Tracking her down is hard, nigh-impossible, as even the Dimir haven’t found her. If one does manage to find her, however, she is likely not difficult to bring down.
The real issue will be whatever she had in that bundle. Her loosing of the Horror kept in the basement suggests an affinity for these Undercity monsters, meaning she might well be raising a baby Skitter Horror as her loyal pet. That would be top-quality Bad News.
#6 Bori Andon
Affiliation: Izzet League
Crimes: Destruction of Orzhov cathedral, disintegration of Orzhov theater, partial explosion of Orzhov bank, excessive & reckless experimenting, mass property destruction, and illegal launch of a Viashino.
The Orzhov Syndicate is willing to pay top coin for this one’s head. That said, he’s well-respected within the Izzet League, who consider reckless experimenting a solid asset to one’s resumé and personality.
What you’re likely dealing with is a variant Blastseeker whose most dangerous feature is probably going to be his experiments and laboratory. Izzet labs are prone to explosions, Wild Magic, random bursts of elemental energy, and an unhealthy level of encouragement for any experiment, no matter how dangerous, as long as it produces “results”.
Izzet labs also tend to reflect their owner’s personality and “quirks”, so with Bori’s preoccupation towards propulsion, expulsion, and explosion; there’s a solid chance his lab will try to eject you several hundred feet in any given direction. If the lab is on a high enough floor, this could prove instantly fatal to any character unable to levitate, teleport, or sprout wings. Ravnican buildings range from small office buildings to cloud-piercing skyscrapers. Minimum, 5 stories. Maximum.... there are buildings & structures almost a mile high. Buildings. Plural.
#5 Krenko, Mob Boss
Affiliation: Guildless, Foundry Street Gang
Crimes: Theft from Ghost Council quarters (contents unknown), illegal use of a portal, illegal use of a thrall as an incendiary device, instigation of a riot in Sawtooth Prison, and violent escape from Azorius arresters during transfer to Udzec Maximum Security Prison. Target is to be brought in alive for questioning. Any attempts at unsanctioned questioning or interrogation of subject will result in immediate imprisonment by Azorius authorities.
Krenko’s jacket is mostly available in the GGtR. While he’s not a particularly difficult fighter (he’s a final boss for a Level 1 campaign), getting to him can still be a nuisance. Krenko isn’t a lone troublemaker you can just corner; his main power comes from his connections to Ravnica’s criminal underworld. It’s a fairly simple matter to upgrade his contacts to reflect the party’s level. Thugs, brutes, cutthroats, crooked guards, officials on the hook, and, of course, the mysterious “Mr Taz”.
The real trouble comes from getting involved with one of Mr Taz’ personal projects/associates. This would make Krenko a loose end. The Azorius Senate will only pay up if Krenko is brought in alive for questioning. Under no circumstances is the goblin boss to be questioned independently, and if either of these requirements isn’t met, you’ll find yourself in hot water with the Senate. However, if he starts talking to try and bargain his way out, you can expect to find yourself green-lit by House Dimir.
What does that mean? It means you’re going to be looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life. Give up on sleeping at night, you’ll make it too easy for them. Every NPC you encounter, every random citizen you pass on the street, the members of your own guild; anyone could be a Dimir agent. Every dark alley, every shadow on the wall, every noise you hear in the night could be a deadly threat. Or nothing at all.
Best case scenario when they get to you, they wipe your memory. It’s standard Dimir protocol, but it can only affect memories from within the last 24 hours. So if you’re already passed that threshold, your options get dicier. Get Feebleminded, get killed, or get on the hook. If you have information, authority, or renown that can be exploited, they will use you to cause serious damage to your guild. If you don’t comply, they green-light your friends & loved ones.
Krenko might be the easiest on this list to physically wrangle, but he comes with a lot of bad attention from scary people. Unless taking on House Dimir is one of your campaign goals, his bounty to the Azorius is not worth the Dimir’s bounty on you.
#4 “The Cozen”
Affiliation: Orzhov Syndicate
Crimes: Unsanctioned executions, bribery of Azorius officials, illegal use of Detention Sphere for purposes of torture.
Real name unknown. Contract killer for the Orzhov Syndicate, trademark is “creative interpretation of contracts”, see below:
The contract specified an appendage for a missed payment. Read the fine print: the head is an appendage.
So, start with an Orzhov Giant. Give him (or her or them) a respectable boost in ability scores, particularly in the Charisma department. Throw in at least a couple of powerful magic items to reflect the high standing of a powerful enforcer within a guild that revolves around both hoarding and grand displays of wealth. Include an Advokist (aka Mage) or two for that sense of organization and official-ness the Orzhov always try to project in their dealings. Have some Azorius NPCs on the take to negotiate targets to the desired location/killspot. Last but not least, fashion yourself a Detention Sphere magical item; most likely an item holding charges for various flavors of confinement, restraint, and submission. These potential spells will probably go all the way up to Force Cage and/or Imprisonment. However, as this is a modified Detention Sphere, each spell also comes with the ability to inflict pain on the target.
All things considered, this will be one of the easier and more straightforward targets to locate. While storming Orzhov property is certainly no walk in the park, The Cozen is a pretty active figure in Orzhov debt collection, meaning one could conceivably see them out on the streets. The main concern one should have is to avoid the Detention Sphere, as being immobilized will turn the encounter into an execution. It’s highly unlikely The Cozen will have the opportunity to perform multiple executions in a single combat, but it’s even more highly unlikely that any member of the party will volunteer for instant death. That said, this one is certain to drop some sweet loot.
#3 Damir, aka "Voidwielder"
Affiliation: Guildless
Crimes: Opening spatial rift without a permit, erasure of evidence, conspiracy against Ravnica, conspiracy against Guilds, conspiracy against Guildpact.
Welcome to the Top 3. Each of the individuals listed is designated as “Kill on Sight” to reflect the extreme dangers they pose, both to individual victims and to Ravnica as a whole. Taking down any of these three will grant city-wide recognition, a massive boost to one’s renown within their guild, and the most sincere gratitude of the Azorius Senate. But be warned, all of these figures have remained at large because they’ve slaughtered, petrified, or erased anyone who’s stood against them.
The renegade mage known as Damir owes allegiance to no guild, no group, no organization, nor even to Ravnica itself. He is a madman even the Izzet won’t touch or defend. He holds a grudge against the Guildpact and has accused every guild of mass murder. Through use of portals and rifts, he seeks to reverse time itself. The rifts are of particular danger to airborne creatures of limited intelligence, like drakes, who fly into these sparkly ripples in the atmosphere without care. On the ground, his trademark method of dealing with anyone who interferes with his work is banishment, obliterating all evidence of his crimes from existence.
You’re definitely looking at an Archmage here, for starters. With a focus on the School of Conjuration, because he’s definitely the sort of guy who’s thinking with portals. As far as “How do I turn a 20ft doorway into a weapon?”, the answer lies in where the portal goes. A Gate to the Fire Plane is effectively a 20ft tall FLAMETHROWER. A Gate to the Water Plane is a tsunami focused into a geyser. A Gate to Nowhere is like opening an airlock in deep space. Given Damir’s general contempt for humanity, he definitely seems the sort of mad mage who would prefer uninhabited planes for his terrorism, but whose to say he doesn’t open up a Gate to one of the nastier Realms of existence and all the beasties within if he wants to? Odds are he hasn’t had much of a dialogue with anyone besides himself and his Unseen Servant(s) in a long time. Who’s going to talk him out of anything?
Damir is smart, extremely smart. Given most portal spells require concentration, the ability to concentrate on more than one spell at a time feels appropriate for maximizing his destructive potential. While it’s true that only the Gate spell can actually reach other Planes, once you have it up, you can pop an Arcane Gate inside that Gate and give yourself another 10ft tall elemental disaster at a location of your choosing. Better yet, Gate lasts only a minute, but Arcane Gate, once set up, lasts for 10. Time Stop seems like a given, but since Damir’s goal is reversing time, as opposed to just stopping it, saving that 9th level spell slot for Gate seems more effective. Let Time Magic be the plot device, not an actual spell. In addition, lots of teleporting for evasion (Misty Step is your friend), and you definitely wanna give him Chromatic Orb so he can do the void magic attack on his poster. Furthermore, while Banishment seems to be the logical choice for, well, banishing anyone who interferes, in actuality it lasts only a minute and can only send creatures to their home plane of existence. It’s more of a delaying tactic than anything. If you really want to maximize portal magic, Plane Shift or Scatter are much more permanent. Counterspell to prevent other mages from interfering. As far as other offensive spells, Evard’s Black Tentacles and Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere both feel very in-character. Especially if combined....
You could also open up a portal to the Past, but since, as mentioned in earlier posts, most of Ravnican history before the last 100 years is an absolute nightmare to figure out, make sure you’re prepared before you jump into it. Plus side, if Damir’s plan is to go back to before the Guildpact, your party might get to see dragons! Downside, your party will be walking into a 10-way war.
Already stated this, but, yeah, it’s worth stating again, kill on sight.
#2 "The Unseen"
Affiliation: Golgari Swarm
Crimes: Plagiarism of Azorius statutes for the purpose of phlebotomy and murder.
Murder of Judge Azka by heart removal
Murder of Arbiter Zivan by bloodletting
Murder of slumlord Branko One-Ear by extraction of brain
Prime Suspect in disappearance of Arbiter Relov
To some, an urban legend. To others, a secret cult. Whatever the identity, the assassin known on the streets as “The Unseen” has been steadily acquiring followers to mesh out their perverted sense of justice on present and former members of the Azorius Senate.
So, yeah, Vraska has a grudge against the Azorius. In all fairness, it’s pretty justified. Think V from V for Vendetta, except it’s a Gorgon Planeswalker Assassin Pirate Queen of the Undercity. So, yeah, think really hard before getting involved in this particular dispute. However, if you are determined to step into this ugly situation....
Vraska, as stated previously, combines all of the most lethal features of an Assassin, an Undercity Medusa, a Pirate, and a Planeswalker. Vraska’s stats should reflect those of a Guildmaster. Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, and Charisma scores at-or-above 20. Legendary Actions, Legendary Resistances, Assassinate/Surprise Attack, Sneak Attack, Evasion, Cunning Action, and a Petrifying Gaze that brought down Isperia, Gargantuan Sphinx Guildmaster of the Azorius Senate. Just so you can properly understand the ramifications of that takedown; that means Isperia’s +11 Constitution (with Advantage) failed the save either by 5 once or by any amount twice. Basically, Vraska is a walking/slithering deathwish either by damage or by instant petrification.
So, step one in surviving against her is to make sure you surprise her, not the other way around. Step two is making sure she goes down, instead of planeswalking away. Meaning when you hit her, you hit hard, and you leave no chance at survival. Don’t go for the kill, go for the overkill. Plus side, although Vraska has considerable influence and followers within the Golgari Swarm, she still values her privacy & secrecy. So, if you can find her Lair, you can conceivably get the jump on her. Get that surprise round, take advantage of her squishier Hit Points as a Rogue, hit her with everything you’ve got, and pray.
Or you could just leave her alone and live a bit longer.
#1 "Massacre Girl"
Affiliation: Cult of Rakdos
Crimes: Murder, mass murder, unsanctioned execution, inciting chaos, inciting riots, massacre of Selesnyan missionaries in Rubblebelt. Prime suspect in 47 open murder cases. Additional information lost during fire at South Records Hall.
Vraska may be the toughest on this list, but the crazed murderer known only as “Massacre Girl” definitely holds the highest body count. She has openly promised to kill any official who investigates or detains her and is a favorite follower of Rakdos the Defiler. Whether she performs under orders or just for her own twisted delight, no one can say. Her trademark is high body counts.
Build-wise, you’re looking at a Rogue/Fighter combination. High Dexterity, Charisma, Stealth, Deception, Sleight of Hand, and every buff the Cult of Rakdos can offer someone. Surprise Attack, Sneak Attack, any ability that involves blood could work. But in order to really let Massacre Girl live up to her reputation, give her as many opportunities to attack as physically possible. Multi-Attack, Bonus Action, Reaction, or possibly even Legendary Actions. With Massacre Girl, quantity is going to be key, as her main weapons are only likely to be a spiked chain and a magic dagger of some rarity. Multi-Attack should include at least 3 Dagger attacks, possibly even up to 5. Utilizing the spiked chain for a Bonus Action to grab potential victims could work, as could leaving behind caltrops or other sharp objects while disengaging or dashing.
Her driving goal will be to inflict as much damage on as many targets as possible. Meaning she’s most likely to turn up somewhere with lots of innocent bystanders and immediately start slaying people. Much of the difficulty in dealing with her will be in getting through the crowds of people running away, and not losing sight of her in the chaos. If she gets behind you, you’re looking at a nasty flurry of stabs with advantage. Make no mistake, she’s going to do everything in her power to turn the encounter into a bloodbath, and no matter how hard you try, someone is going to die.
While you bury the last of her victims, let the knowledge that Ravnica no longer has to live in fear of this murder-crazed psychopath help you find peace.
