a shout into the void

I recently got six dragons tattooed on my left arm and my parents keep asking me why I'd want them. I have other tattoos that I think have meanings more palatable for them and the other ones are much smaller. But the dragons are supposed to be this visual manifestation of magic and fantasy and the belief that I could still be a hero one day - like the ones I've read about since I was a kid. The number of them isn't important, in fact, I'll likely get more or add to the spiral of dragons anyway. I think they understand that the dragons were important to me but they still definitely don't understand why I'd want them on me forever.
