What is the difference between a cathedral and a physics lab? Are they not both saying: Hello?

before the Big Bang, there was no up there was no down there was no side to side.
There was no up there was no down there was no side to side, there was no light, there was no dark, no shape of any kind. There were no stars or planet Mars or protons to collide, there was no up there was no down there was no side to side. And furthermore, to underscore this total lacking state, there was no here there was no there because there was no space. And in this endless void, which can't be thought of as a place, there was no time and so no passing minutes, hours days. Of all the paradoxes that belabor common sense, I think this one's the greatest this time before events, because how did we get from nothing to infinitely dense from immeasurably small to inconceivably immense. But before we get unmoored from the question at the start, let's take a breath and marvel at when math becomes an art because we don't have to understand it to know there was a time when there was no up there was no down. There was no side to side

Can I ask about how Fiddleford and Ford created Rosie? Not a weird nsfw-esque question, but more like, what kind of science do you think would’ve lead Rosie to be? Was she a tube baby?
You’re not the first to ask
I know everyone’s curious
I just know that this topic
Can make some people furious
A success, I have done it!!!
It was a true anomaly!
A lab grown egg
That was mostly made from me
We had two options
Fiddleford and I
Either put her in a tube
Or be carried by a guy
My more experienced husband
Suggest it’d be me
For he was too squeamish
And full of anxiety
“bah!” I proclaimed
“This will be easy”
Little did I know
I’d be the one who was queasy
She kicked and she stretched
She kept me awake
I endured, and ate junk
All for her sake
The day of her birth
Is still on my mind
A blizzard flew in
And left us in a bind
The snow piled up
The power was out
And my mind soon grew
Some smalls seeds of doubt
With no proper exit
What of our child’s fate?
“Its alright”, Fiddleford claimed
“She’ll just have to wait”
Patience is not
Something she understands
I felt pain in my body
From my feet to my hands
With rope in my mouth
And a sanitized knife
Rosie McGucket-Pines
Came into my life
Six fingers, Six freckles
And her father’s nose
She was so perfect
And had all of her toes!
It was painful, it was bloody
I’d been through a lot
I looked at my husband
And said “next time, we’ll adopt”

Quote
Philosophy cannot be regarded as a mere equation where nature is the unknown quantity! Remark that the poet, in the moment of inspiration, comprehends God, and consequently does the philosopher's work. Consequently poetic inspiration is nothing less than philosophical inspiration. Consequently philosophy is nothing but poetry, a higher degree of poetry!
Fyodor Dostoyevsky, "Letter to M. M. Dostoyevsky (31 October 1838)"

I find so much comfort in thunderstorms.
It's like reuniting with an old friend after a long time.
It's like eating a warm cookie with a comfy sweater on Christmas.
It's like reading once again that book that made you fall in love with reading.
It's home.

Daring Attempt Fanzine #7 | Shellie Whild & Tere Ann Roderick, 1987 + scenes from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)
Sad Song by Tere Roderick
I watched a friend die today...
It was an easy death -- As deaths go. He just seemed to slip further and further from me Until I could not feel him "there" anymore. It was not an heroic death, No glory... Only the silence of an unshed tear. Now I sit staring into the brandy... I do not drink... did not drink... before... Or so I told him. Now the amber fluid is all I have. I watched a friend die today. My soul went with him.
