If you have to go in those woods stay well away from those damn mushrooms! They're no good for eating and neither are the creatures that tend them. Malnourished loons, they don't even eat any trespassers they find! They just leave the dead bodies for the spores to grow! Listen well, if you hear the sounds of croaking or see any of those mushrooms start moving, you either shoot at it or start running!
It's gnome time! I finished painting up my gnome themed regiment for Turnip28, the 140 Warty Madcaps!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Toff is made from a fancy resin base from Scibor Miniatures and a dwarf from Massive Darkness that I sculpted a huge growing mushroom. The Toadies (heh) are frog/toad miniatures from Reaper Minis that I glued some bits on to give them gnome hats.
Tumblr media
This Lump (I love that the new Big Dude unit is called a lump) is made from a troll from the game Bloodrage. I added a gnome hat, some growing mushrooms, and a ton of grass tufts and mud texture.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brutes and Fodder were made from Massive Darkness Dwarves with some mushrooms sculpted on. I have another 12 of the smaller ones I'm going to give mushroom muskets!
Tumblr media
Ballistic Weapon Fodder were made from Goblin Archers from Massive Darkness. No fancy conversion work here, just glued on some tufts to fit the aesthetic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bastards and Welps were converted from more Massive Darkness models and Flail Snail models to create these Snailtaurs!
I'm very happy with how this project turned out! Despite getting into Turnip28 for over a year this is my first fully usable army! All of my other armies are missing one or two units before they can go on the tabletop. I'm hoping to change that soon however! Hope you guys like them, happy hobbying!

And now for our resident dwarf. This, my friends, is Farkrim Graufels. He is the typical angry dwarven fighter. But he is played by the most unlucky of my players. You can imagine how that usually goes.
I remember a moment when Farkrim had to make a perception check and actually rolled (after all the minusses that he had to add) a “-2″. I was stunned by this roll. Yes he is strong and can take a punch but thinking and being witty is not his speciality.
In an other moment he was drinking himself into oblivion in the stonehill inn. He failed his constitution check and went unconscious. Then he had to roll a dice to find out if the revelers around him did something with his limb body. Well he rolled a 1 and thus found himself, after getting up, completely shaven (even the eyebrows) and bawdy songs scrawled all over his face.
But he also had failed a con check against the bite of a wereboar (the only party member who failed that of course.....) and so we had a clean shaven dwarven warrior who was also struggeling against the curse of the wereboar, desperately trying to keep it together and not just murder everyone. It was hillarious. :-D
Farkrim is not just an ordinary dwarven fighter though, he also is a runesmith and wears a chainmail made of mithril. He has crafted a rune of earth into his armor and thus reduces all mundane damage by 3 (at least that is what I think). But add to that the damage resistance that comes from being nearly a Werboar (I could not give him damage immunity while fighting the curse) he can be an unmoveable tank in battle. We had a fight once where at least 3 Orcs and 2 Orcboar riders for 5 rounds tried to take that wild dwarf out but could not do much more than 3 damage per round, while he was cleaving them left and right. It was spectacular.
By the way, the way to give my Farkrim player a decent chance of controlling the curse, I gave him a “potion of control”. This potion is only good for one time but stays in the system of the hero for 10 hours. It gives the drinker a +8 on willpower checks. Nueleth (our average druid) is an alchemist and herbalist. Once she has learned the recipe she can spend one day and half the incredients of her herbalism kit to create another one of those potions. Farkrim only really needs this potion in the night with a full moon.  He is trying to get rid of the curse but it will take time and money to do so (I require a greater restoration to get rid of curse) and he will come in situations where he will have to do willpower checks to control himself, but only on a full moon is there a chance that he will go “full boar” against his will.
Anyway, sorry for the way too long write, but let me add, that this miniature was made by “Scibor Miniatures” (https://www.sciborminiatures.com). I love the dwarves Scibor makes. They truly are the most dwarfish I can imagine. Whenever I look for a dwarven mini I check them out first.

Tomb Kings Screaming Skulls catapult. The crew are apparently AWOL at the moment but hopefully will turn up at some point. Also came without a base so I bought this awesome Egyptian themed base from scibor miniatures to make it more interesting. I like it so much I included a photo before mounting the catapult so you can see all the cool details.
This is the last Tomb Kings mini for a while then, unless/until the crew make an appearance at some point!

Did a bunch of Turnip28 kitbashing today. First is the finished Toff for my Turnip28 Garden Gnome army which I've decided to gname the 3½ Warty Madcaps. I am very happy with his giant mushroom hat, I think it will stand out great for this army.
The other model I worked on is my Knight of Shellwood. The Snail model is from the company Scibor Miniatures while the Knight is converted from a Halfling Blood Bowl player and a bunch of bits I had. The Snails shell is covered in extra armor and more importantly food, weapons, and alcohol for long slow journeys through Cist.

I'm really happy with how this model turned out. The posing was inspired by Necron 99 from the animated movie Wizards.

Slowly but surely we are coming to an end with my Slaanesh army.  These guys up there are my version of the Slaangor. I used a group of Bestigors as base mini. Then I added some chaos barbarian, deamonettes (Games Workshop - https://www.games-workshop.com) and Reaper Bones bitz (Reaper Miniatures - https://www.reapermini.com) to the guys and ended up with pretty chaotic looking minis. The halbert and shield were part of a kromlech (https://www.kromlech.eu) mini I took apart. The big egyptian looking blade was made by “Scibor Miniatures” (https://www.sciborminiatures.com) and the little demonlady on the banner was made by “Mantic Games” (https://www.manticgames.com)
Over all I am pretty happy with the result. They look like they are supposed to look. :-)

Dwarf Ranger, pt. 4. (please excuse etc etc)
In these last two photos, he’s nearly done, aside from the base! I decided to go with tan vest/shirt, and brightened the important maroon trousers. Next up is actual, big boy photos of the whole thing, without fingers or as much blur.
