I just. he literally ONLY wanted to help a friend in need, but got himself caught for it, and then was chosen to be the main test subject JUST BECAUSE Gabriel had the delusion that he was sent by the universe itself for them to make “perfect”.

He sees himself changing as the days go by. he feels his hands working less and his feet hurting and the fact that he has FEATHERS in some places now. He’s scared, but because Gabriel chose him to be the favorite, he can’t do anything about it. He’s aware he was stupid to run in there without a plan but. he NEEDED to help his only friend-

ik its cringe but um. since hunter the parenting is based off of 40k lore, and i had a sensei ( half-human child of Big E ) oc kicking around in g-docs, i revamped her to fit into the h:tp lore. meet odette! (she/they), one of the ex-children of big-d, and independent salubri kindred, currently acting as the go-between between the anarchs, independents kindred, and camarilla of east-anglia, though originally, she's from santa monica and relocated after l.a. got too hot to stick around for salubri like her back in 04

❛ oh, shut up, you big baby. you're not dying, you just tripped. ❜ but despite her words and her patented noah ripley speaking to me eyeroll, there's a ripple of real concern in her voice. she's seen him drunk before, probably more times than she can count, but this is ... something else. usually he can stand on his own two feet, at the very least. mina frowns, arms crossed as she watches him lean ( over - dramatically, yes, but he kind of doesn't look like he could actually stand back up if he tried, either ) against the wall, an undercurrent of worry cutting through the haze of alcohol in her chest with an uncomfortable twist. she gives it another moment, just to see what he'll do, and he still doesn't move. yeah, it's not really funny anymore.

mina sighs, stepping a bit closer with a slight wobble — and a silent curse towards the earlier her who decided to wear these stupid fucking boots — before she reaches for noah. with a mumbled jeeeesus christ ( because shit, she's not as weak as she looks, but she sure isn't strong ) and a mental check that she's as solid on her feet as she can be in this state, she scoops him up from under his arms, hefting him against her side in an attempt to get him at least a little closer to vertical again rather than his previously slow crawl towards horizontal. somewhat impressively, she doesn't stumble under his weight, but that may change considering he's really doing the bare minimum here. come on, noah, you're not that out of it ( right? ). give her a hand here. she jostles him slightly, prodding him lightly in the side before nodding towards the thankfully fairly empty seating area.

❛ oooookay, we're gonna go sit on the couch. and i'm not carrying you there unless you want to end up on the floor, so you're gonna have to walk with me a little, okay? help me out here, dude, i know you can do it. ❜ because if he can't, they've got way bigger problems than her ( um, totally understandable, she thinks! ) inability to carry a grown man across the floor, and she doesn't think either of them are prepared for that.
