"County Judge Matt Brumley told the Quorum Court he lost confidence in Hector in recent months after she refused to go along with a resolution they passed in April that called for moving some books out of the young people’s library section.
"In media interviews since then, Hector defended her decision, saying that moving books to hard-to-access spots is equivalent to censorship. County officials do not have the power to dictate what books can be on library shelves, she’s said."
And they don't. But that doesn't look like that'll stop the library's board from being replaced and a new director from being hired and the old one fired, all because she refuses to move some books to a hard-to-find section of the library simply because they have gay characters.

Saline County Library
Benton, Arkansas
The first location and many subsequent locations of the Saline County Library became too small to hold the library’s ever growing collection. Seven years after opening, the library was moved to a building next to City Hall. Ten years beyond that, it was relocated again to a former doctor’s office. There would be three more moves over the years before the library finally settled into its own building in 2002. A second location was dedicated in 2003.
The interesting thing about this library’s haunted history is that it’s from a former location, not a current one and the alleged hauntings might not have anything to do with the library.  Phantom footsteps, paperback carousels rotating by themselves, books falling from the shelves, a self-operating photocopier, and a slamming book-return door. Once, late at night, Director Julie Hart heard the distinctive sound of a manual typewriter but the library had long ago discarded theirs.

Be a Superhero this October by Donating Socks for Socktober!
Tumblr media
Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets.
Did you know socks are the most needed item in homeless shelters? 🧦
For the month of October, several members of the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors are participating in Socktober, an event to collect new socks to benefit the Shelter Association of Washtenaw County, SafeHouse Center, and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office
Please let me know if you would like to donate socks to the drive. I would be happy to pick them up, or you can drop them off at any of the Charles Reinhart Company Sales Offices.
Socktober was launched by Kid President creator Brad Montague. It’s a movement to get kids and grown-ups to help the homeless in an easy, fun way.

The 1870 Bingham Farmstead in Saline County, Missouri is a gorgeous piece of history. The Folk Victorian is currently a Bed & Breakfast, so cheery, with 5bds, 3ba, and it's for sale for $945K.
Tumblr media
The entrance hall is just a crisp, clean, unadorned white.
Tumblr media
It doesn't say that the furniture comes with it, and they have such lovely antiques.
Tumblr media
Vintage leather chairs and sofa. Such a beautiful set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's so pretty and uncluttered, unlike some historic homes are. Love the contrasts of the black wainscoting, white molding, and bright blue & lime wallpaper.
Tumblr media
The kitchen is amazing. Instead of cabinets, they use a large art print cabinet and the vintage sink cabinet is covered in fabric.
Tumblr media
Because it's a B&B it has a huge commercial stove and matching hood in navy blue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The navy blue & red fabric on the sink pull the look together. Notice that the current owner bakes on that gorgeous wood cabinet.
Tumblr media
Brand new modern subway tile shower.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cozy area before the fire in the family room off the kitchen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This cute room has nothing but a small writing desk in front of an old fireplace that's been bricked up.
Tumblr media
Very spacious bedroom has a real antique bed with a rope mattress in front of the fireplace. You can't get more authentic than that.
Tumblr media
This home is like a museum with authentic Victorian living, but it has a twist- bright, modern colors, so it doesn't have the dark, depressing look that some older homes have.
Tumblr media
What a great en-suite. Look at that little slipper tub. I'm so impressed with this home.
Tumblr media
The upstairs hall is plain and simple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This lovely bedroom has it's own sink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The land is a huge 10 acres and includes a pond.
Tumblr media
Plus this scenic red barn.
Tumblr media
But, there's also a newer metal barn, too.
Tumblr media
It could just as easily be a single home again.

WHAT is going on in alleghany county?? there are a few other spikes this shape, but almost every other county in the country is less than half that (saline ar, teton mt, tippecanoe in, are the ones at more than half), with the vast majority being under 500 covid copies/ml wastewater. there are maybe a dozen counties that had larger spikes than this during omicron
saw this week that over 7m have taken the new vaccine and that's 2% of the country's population. last updated booster topped out at 17%, which means, at best, 97% of the population is not fully vaccinated and 82% was not last year
the branch of strains that this year's vaccine is updated to target (xbb) is no longer the most prevalent one (eg5). the total of all xbb strains is larger (60%), but eg5 is now the most prevalent single strain (35%)

hospitalizations appear to be going down and remain at a lower level than usual, but two months ago we ended our 15-consecutive-week record of less than 1000 deaths/wk, which continue to rise at a rate of about +100 deaths/wk (greyed out recent weeks are incomplete tallies)

The Arkansas teacher who was once surprised on national television by her adoring students has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for having sex with a 17-year-old student up to 30 times — including during a class trip to Washington, DC.
Married mother Heather Hare, 33, was ordered last week to serve 13 years in the federal sexual assault case, along with 20 years to be served concurrently, in a Saline County Circuit Court sexual assault case, KATV reported.
Hare taught home economics at Bryant High School, where she met the victim during his senior year and gave him her phone number, Instagram and Snapchat.
“At one point, Ms. Hare told J.R. that she had a dream of them having sex,” White said.
Hare engaged in sexual activities with the victim between 20 and 30 times throughout the 2021-2022 school year in several locations including her home, her car, classroom, and the high school’s parking lots.
Hare and the victim also engaged in sexual activity during an April 2022 school trip to Washington, DC, that she was chaperoning.
“J.R. advised they planned to have sex on the trip and not have to worry about being caught,” White said. “Hare did come to his hotel room and the two engaged in sex.”
Hare, who was arrested in April 2023, pleaded guilty in federal court earlier this year to one count of interstate/foreign travel for prostitution/sexual activity by coercion and one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
She also pleaded guilty in Saline County Circuit Court to two charges of sexual assault in the first degree, both related to sexual activity with a Bryant High School student.
“Teachers who have sex with their minor students should take note of today’s sentence for Ms. Hare which reflects the consequences of abusing her position of trust and taking advantage of the vulnerability of this minor to repeatedly engage in unlawful sexual activity,” US Attorney Jonathan Ross said during her sentencing.
The judge also sentenced Hare to serve a lifetime of supervised release.

Angel Dardie, 22 (USA 1982)
Angel Dardie was only 22 years old when she was killed along with her unborn child in 1982. The abortionist was Youl Choi, who administered a dangerous saline abortion. This method, while completely legal in America, had been long since banned by multiple countries (including the notoriously pro-abortion Soviet Union) for being extremely hazardous to the client.
The dangerous procedure was done at Plymouth General Hospital near Detroit, but even the resources of a hospital were not enough to save Angel’s life. She died on August 3, 1982, leaving behind her two surviving children.
Angel's mother sued for $5 million, but was only awarded a small settlement of $6000 from Choi and $2500 from the hospital. $1744 of this went to the attorney, plus an additional $667 to pay for expenses. $1528 of the settlement was used to reimburse for funeral expenses. This left Angel's mother and orphans with $4561. No settlement was awarded for pain and suffering, and there was no settlement awarded for Angel's two surviving children.
Choi was also sued on behalf of two abortion clients who had been left incapacitated by their injures and on behalf of a baby who had been born alive and then left in a bucket, delaying medical care until after she had suffered serious injuries. He was also responsible for the death of Nina Gaston, who was left in a coma until she died of abortion complications in 2004.
Women deserve better than abortion.

The scent of saline water and bergamot soap softly filled the bathroom, overpowering the smell of alien blood. J once again reached for the first-aid kit, taking yet another layer of bandages.
"How did you even manage to get these?" J asked, their attention now on the last of Cai's wounded arms. Five out of his eight had clearly been stabbed, and he had been lucky the bleeding wasn't severe, even if he could regenarate.
"I was just playing around with some humans, nothing much" Cai answered somewhat dismissively.
"Well, at least you knew where I was-" J finished patching up Cai's last injured arm, "-But that scared me a bit"
"Yes, last we saw each other you were getting ready to leave that convent.. Last year?"
"Yes, I already created a new name and everything"
"And since you're done patching me up, can I leave now, friend?"
"Go on ahead, but please be more careful"
Cairyx let out a small laugh, a surprisingly light one instead of malicious.
"Will do"

**Headline: Saline County Sheriff's Office Fails to Protect Child, Officer Neglects to Verify Critical Information**
Back in July of this year, A tragic failure of responsibility occurred in Saline County. It was on the afternoon of July 30th when Officer Jordan of the Saline County Sheriff's Office in Shannon Hills, Arkansas, neglected to properly intervene in a dangerous custody dispute. The mother of a child, whom had been advised by the Pulaski County Sheriff's office in Little Rock, had requested assistance in retrieving her child and a vehicle from the father, who was driving a car with no functioning brakes.
Wait, what?
The car belonged to the mother, she had let him borrow it 2 months prior. The father had been refusing to return the vehicle the entire time, even after multiple calls to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office in Little Rock, AR for assistance. They said nothing could be done. This being because she had let him borrow it to begin with.
In fact, They refused to even look at the paperwork for the vehicle that the mother had in her possession, proving ownership.
Sometime later, the brakes had gone out. Still, the father refused to return the vehicle. Still he continued to refuse to return the children and had been spotted by several witnesses driving children in this unsafe vehicle.
Then, again on the afternoon of July 30th, 2024, after the mother again contacted Pulaski County for help, they finally advised the mother to call Saline County and Meet with one of their officers at the father's residence.
Officer Jordan was then was supposed to meet both parents at the father’s residence to resolve the situation. After speaking to the mother on the phone and agreeing to meet her in the grocery store parking lot, However, he instead met solely with the father, who allegedly had presented paperwork for not only the wrong child, but for custody of the ESTATE of another child entirely. (This means the paperwork was for guardianship of the other child's lawsuit money after being ran over by a school bus, and not the other child himself, nor the child in question at the time. IN FACT, the child whom the papers pertained to, WAS WITH THE MOTHER WHILE SPEAKING TO OFFICER JORDAN! Rather than verifying the documents or investigating further, Officer Jordan accepted the father’s claims at face value. The mother was then denied access to both her child and the vehicle.
The very next day, the car was totaled in an accident due to the brake failure, narrowly avoiding a deadly tragedy involving the child. The community is demanding accountability for this grave negligence, which could have resulted in a fatal outcome. In the subsequent car wreck, the father was unable to stop the vehicle while coming off of an exit in Little Rock. He pulled the emergency brake, to no avail. He then turned the wheel to avoid the other cars, and multiple vehicles then struck the rear end of the vehicle and pushed him up and over the guard rail. Thankfully, no one was injured in any of the involved vehicles. Had officer Jordan done his job the way he should have, this car would not have been on the road and this wreck would not have happened. #SalineCountyNeglect #DemandJustice #OfficerAccountability #lawenforcementfails #miscarriageofjustice #outrage #justiceforhannahandkids #justiceforhannah #accountabilitynow #salinecountysherrifsoffice #shannonhillsarkansas
Below,
It has been attached, the photos of the damaged vehicle, and the photo of a copy of the "paperwork" that Officer Jordan read. Clearly, the paperwork is for a child named "D" birthdate: July 21st, when the incident was involving a child with the Initial "C" whose birthdate is March 28th. In fact, Child "D" was with the mother at the time of speaking with this particular officer on this particular day.
