July 11th, 2004 - 2 A.M

He needed to keep running. He needed to keep running!

Ragged breaths, heart hammering at his chest, the nausea from having seen what he saw.

He needed to pull himself together if he wanted the police to believe him.

His name was Ivan Thompson, he was 16, currently in 10th grade, he lived with his parents, two brothers and aunt close to the border with Hemera county, and he was currently being chased by his best friend's psychotic classmate.

Having escaped through one of the living room's windows, he ran towards the nearby woods at full speed, never once looking back as he did not want to look at the older boy's manic expression even one more time.

Then he tripped on something. A hole?

No, not just a hole. A trap.

As soon as he felt himself hit the floor, whatever the mechanism was must have activated, because right afterwards, small blades pierced through his foot and ankle, making him scream just as loud as when he got bit in the arm by a wild raccoon.

There was no way he hadn't set this all up beforehand.

Through the pain, Ivan heard the other's footsteps go from sprinting to relaxed walking.

He could almost smell his killer's smile in the air, even if he couldn't see his face.

52. My favorite font is calibri. Not really because of looks but because calibri would make a cool name for an oc! My second favorite would be any variation of the windings/dingbat font :)

73. Hmm… I got a few answers to this! Number 1 would be watermelon and whipped cream. Sounds weird, but I tried it once and it tasted nice and sweet! Number 2 would be melty cheese and chocolate. Literally an awesome flavor combo.

Hey guys have you ever read like, an “objectively” bad fanfic, and at first you’re like “wow this is bad but it’s clearly made by a kid who has no bad intentions so I might as well continue reading” and then you DO and despite how bad the dialogue is and despite how bad the characterization is and despite how bad the formatting is (especially in earlier chapters) you can’t help but get upset when you’ve reached the last current chapter and am now thoroughly invested in the plot?

Marosnel (magenta) :

The eldest and de facto leader of the three, and being the first of ☼︎♋︎⌘︎❍︎⍓︎■︎🕯︎⬧︎ progeny, feels entitled to being a domineering and excessively demanding figure, both to their descendants and their own younger siblings. Rarely shows any genuine emotion and keeps their individual thoughts private, but despite this, is visibly "nicer" to individuals they consider "worthy", and overtly cruel to those they see as "incapable" or "mistakes".

Was the one who created Ladvar and Lunaci, but refused to create any more younglings after the two's disappointing first assessment mission on Earth, instead nearly killing Ladvar when forcing him to reproduce over and over, out of a hidden feeling of offense over him having embarrassed them in front of their siblings.

Perished from age in the Earth year of 1978, so was not present for Cairyx's "trial".

The middle child and upkeeper of decent behavior within the system she and her siblings built, and although she can get agitated and speak more than is needed when angry or disappointed, is usually the "calm one" of the siblings. Is always wary of the possibility of betrayal, thus making her especially authoritative and coldhearted towards younglings, to try and "kill" the problem before it sprouts.

Was Lopir's creator, and although that makes her feel good for having a "better" progeny over that of Marosnel, she never openly expressed such feeling, believing that doing as such would "spoil" her creation and thus ruin everything. In the wake of Lunaci and Ladvar's failed mission, she created a youngling once more and named him Enzil, and he too fared better on Earth compared to Marosnel's "brood", much to her joy.

Was present for Cairyx's "trial" and was the one who wanted to take punitive action for his offense, later managing to persuade her brother to agree to hand down a minor physical punishment and a verbal reprimand.

The youngest and "smart one" of the siblings, he is usually full of energy, except in situations that he considers "disgusting" or "unnecessarily problematic", and if forced to partake in them in any way, will become the least energetic version of himself and let his siblings do most of the talking. Feels some amount of jealously towards his siblings for many reasons developed over the years, but also takes great pride in having a "superior" intellect compared to them, and is always eager to correct them at any perceived failure.

By the time of the failed Earth mission, he already had one youngling, Perqua, who wasn't included in said mission due to inexperience, but at Marosnel's request (read "order"), Verta ended up creating a second one named Querfaga. Though his two "children" could never live up to the achievements of Jaunyx's progeny, he still felt good in knowing his own would still be better than Marosnel's.

Was present at Cairyx's "trial" and was the one who wanted to let his offense pass without major action, believing in him when he said that a sacrifice had been needed for his greatest project yet, but Verta was later persuaded by his sister to at least hand out the smallest punishment, compared to their many past others, to try and keep Cairyx from doing such a 'radical' thing ever again.

Perished from old age in the Earth year of 1992, having only ever seen the beginning phase of Cairyx's project.

"Fuck fuck fuck fuck." Kevin could only say as he started chest compressions. It felt like his mind was running a marathon. His heart was beating so hard, he feared it would explode. His hands were shaking, but he kept his stance firm. Roderick needs him. He was the only one on that beach so he's gotta be the one to help him.

Roderick was limp beneath him, his limbs shaking as the small boy continued to press down on his chest. How? How did any of this even happen? They were supposed to go fishing. They were supposed to be having a good time. Why? Why is this even happening? What are these things and how did they get here?!

In the distance, Kevin could hear the leeches (or whatever they were) screeching, no doubt trying to get near them. He felt one trying to get onto his leg and he kicked it away. It was slimy and felt like a million spiders crawling on his skin.

"C'mon, Roderick... Please... Please breathe..." After he finished the set, he blew two breaths into his mouth. He was already starting to get cold, his lips turning a faint shade of grey. No, he can't give up yet. He can't! He deserves much better than to die alone on the beach!

He continued CPR for what felt like hours when it reality, it had only been a few minutes. Roderick still hadn't responded. Blood still oozed out from the ear where the leech had entered. Can Kevin even call it a leech? Leeches don't leap like that. Leeches don't crawl into people's bodies. Can they? He shook his head. He'll question it later.

He could still hear Roderick's screams in his mind as he tried to get his heart beating. His screams of mortal terror, the leech digging itself into his head, his eyes... The way his body contorted when he collapsed...

God, please... Don't take him away from me.

"Help!!! Please, my friend's not breathing!! HELP!!" Kevin screamed once more, tears streaming down his face.

Still, no one answered.
