Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Word Count: 1.1k
.
Tony laughed loudly when he first saw the grey woollen hat.
It had a white pom pom on the end and Tony snorted when he caught sight of it bouncing.
Natasha paused momentarily and her eyes flickered over to him, sipping coffee as he read over a Stark Pad.
‘Sorry.’ He grinned unashamedly. ‘It’s just not very Black Widow.’
Natasha rolled her eyes pointedly, before letting your hesitant tug on her hand pull her away.
In the elevator, you watched the quiet embarrassment roll through her. Natasha regarded herself in the mirrored walls as you descended the skyscraper. Her eyes lingered on the hat.
Her gaze wasn’t critical. You almost wished it was. There was something childish in her vulnerability. You read the indecision in the way she bit her lip.
Your heart seized with a strange sadness. You’d never really seen how Natasha viewed herself, not until then. Tony’s comment had thrown her completely off.
Just before you reached the ground floor, Natasha’s hand raised to remove the hat. You instinctively lifted your fingers to brush her wrist. She froze at your touch.
‘Leave it.’ You murmured, taking the moment for a brief kiss of her cheek. ‘You look great.’
Her voice was husky in uncertain disagreement.
‘I look ridiculous.’
‘You look cute.’ You promised truthfully, your lips lingering next to her cheek. ‘That’s not a crime.’
Natasha took a small breath and you heard the shakiness of it. Your arm wrapped around her side.
You met her gaze in the mirror, just before the doors parted.
‘Cute.’ You repeated, enjoying the way her eyes sparkled as her smile returned.
.
You couldn’t be certain, but you had a suspicion that the moment in the elevator didn’t leave Natasha’s mind. You knew for sure that it didn’t leave yours.
You settled together into your planned day of Christmas shopping as you wandered through the cold, busy streets. You passed a clothes store with a large winter sale on, and both slowed down to peer into the window. Inside the store, you walked thoughtlessly in sync. Together, you roamed through the aisles with that easy familiarity that comes with time.
When you found the mittens, you held them up questioningly to her. They were the same silver grey as her woolen hat.
Natasha’s face smoothed immediately. You watched her begin to dismiss your suggestion automatically as a joke.
Then, you saw the same lingering uncertainty return to her face.
‘I don’t know.’ She admitted suddenly and her voice was raw.
Customers weaved around you, uninterested in anything but the retail deals on offer.
‘I’ve never had mittens before.’ Natasha told you, unwarranted embarrassment flitting into her expression.
Your stomach flipped and you didn’t know why. Maybe it was her shyness at such a minor secret.
‘Then, these are a must buy.’ You determined with sudden decisiveness, taking her hand and leading her to the checkout.
.
The cashier easily read your relationship as you approached the counter. Despite the bustle around you, she gave you both a small smile, handing the mittens purposefully over to Natasha.
Maybe it was the cold, but Natasha’s cheeks were glowing pink before you’d left the store.
Her woolen mittens matched her hat. Her pleased smile matched her eyes.
That was when you decided that the day was going to be something else.
.
Natasha’s brow furrowed in confusion when your course altered. You led her purposefully across the busy street, away from the storefronts.
She first protested as you weaved through the pop up stalls, selling anything from winter themed street-food to Christmas tree baubles. She reminded you about the presents that you both still needed to buy.
As you approached the ice rink, Natasha stopped in her tracks entirely. She stood a few feet away from you with wide eyes.
Her head shook slowly.
‘No.’ She whispered, her mittens slipping self consciously into her coat pockets. ‘I don’t know how.’
You shrugged, keeping your eyes steady on her.
‘We don’t have to.’ You promised, never wanting to scare her.
You closed the distance between you carefully. Natasha’s lips were pressed together. The same nervous indecision worried her expression.
‘I don’t know how.’ She repeated in a small voice, the words almost an apology.
You brushed her shoulders gently.
‘That’s not a crime.’ You hummed softly. ‘Do you want to try?’
Natasha’s stare was sudden and piercing. There was something unashamed now about her exposed vulnerability. She didn’t mind that you had seen her quiet fear.
Pride stamped your chest as you realised that Natasha knew you were on her team.
You anticipated her answer before she said it.
Before anything else, Natasha was brave.
‘Okay.’ She determined, a soft mitten seeking out your own gloved hand.
.
The next few minutes moved with surprising simplicity. You brought back the skates from the rental desk.
You laced up your pair quickly, excited to get on the ice.
Natasha started laughing gently beside you.
You looked over and caught her grin. Her eyes sparkled with mirth. She raised her mittened hands helplessly and you started smiling too.
You knelt before her, tying up her laces with extra care.
‘Thank you.’ Natasha murmured as you finished. You glanced up, surprised by the rush of warmth you felt from her gaze.
A mitten brushed your cheek softly, and you felt your smile widen at the touch.
.
As you stepped onto the ice, Natasha’s grip was tight on your hand.
The fairy lights above threaded together like a wedding arch.
You took an extra step forward, ready to skate.
Natasha hesitated and you turned around, ready to skate slowly backwards as she practiced.
Your breath caught as you watched the lights sparkle in her eyes. The green and gold dappled together and Natasha seemed ethereal.
You could read the worry on her face before she said it aloud.
There was something inexplicable about the glowing softness of her. The woolen hat, the ringlets, the reddened cheeks.
Natasha’s lips parted as she exhaled anxiously.
‘I love you.’ You told her, because it was the only thing to do.
Natasha’s breath caught and her eyes sparkled impossibly more.
‘That’s not a crime.’ She considered aloud, her grin teasing.
You kissed her gently, wanting to live in this moment forever.
She tasted much warmer than you’d expected.
When your lips parted, Natasha hummed in satisfaction. Her forehead affectionately touched yours. The feeling of being entirely wanted spread over you like a blanket.
Natasha wobbled on the ice, but you held her steady.
Christmas music crackled over the overhead speakers.
For a moment, there were only the bright lights and the pair of you.
Then, with alarming speed, two teenagers skated past. You both startled.
Natasha sighed gently as she extricated herself from your hold.
‘Come on.’ She said, taking your hand resolutely in her mittened one.
‘It’s time to go fall on my ass.’

everybody knows i'm a good boy, officer
Tumblr media
kento nanami could have been one of the calmest and quietest people you’d ever met.
since you started university, you had managed to get along with everyone, but kento remained a complete enigma to you.
it was obvious he didn’t enjoy talking much. except for his two overly social friends, gojo and geto, the only people he spoke to were professors. his handsome face rarely showed any emotion, and he didn’t attend parties or even the smallest gatherings.
in short, nanami kento was the epitome of a lone wolf.
what was strange, though, was how no one else seemed curious about him. to everyone else, nanami was just a quiet, ghost-like figure who seemed to think about nothing but his classes. but to you, he was an endless ocean waiting to be explored. there was nothing you wouldn’t do to get to know him, to spend time with him, to learn everything about him.
or rather, there was nothing you hadn’t done already.
every time you tried to talk to him, he acted like he hadn’t even heard you, leaving you standing there, humiliated. once, you bought two of your favorite chocolate wafers after noticing he liked them too, only for him to give the one you offered to gojo instead. (gojo ate anything chocolate, after all.) there was even a time when he missed class for the first time ever, and you, thoughtfully, took detailed notes for him. the next day, you saw him sitting on a bench in the courtyard, looking utterly drained. you approached him with a warm smile, greeted him, and explained that you had taken notes for him. instead of gratitude, however, he snapped at you with a voice so harsh it shattered your world.
“for god’s sake, leave me alone already! everywhere i go, you’re there, staring at me the moment i turn my head. at first, i thought ignoring you would make it clear i wasn’t interested, but now it’s seriously bothering me. i don’t want your notes, your wafers, or anything from you! if you really want to help me, stop talking to me. actually, don’t even look at me.”
this was definitely not the reaction you had expected. you had imagined far different scenarios in your head—like him thanking you and offering to buy you coffee, or simply taking the notes and saying nothing, as usual. you had never anticipated him spilling his hatred for you like this.
staring at him in shock and sadness, you managed to stammer out, “oh… i’m sorry, i didn’t know i was bothering you.” placing the notes on the bench beside him, you turned away. “you’ll never see me again. you can relax now.”
holding back tears that were threatening to fall, you quickly walked away and left the campus. though you cried on your way home, things only got worse once you were there. sure, he didn’t have to like you, but he certainly didn’t have to yell at you like that. maybe kento nanami wasn’t the amazing man you had imagined him to be. maybe he was just an arrogant jerk.
you felt so awful that you decided not to attend the party you’d planned to go to that night. even when your roommate begged you to come, all you wanted was to stay home and finish the caramel ice cream you’d bought.
halfway through the tub of ice cream, a text from your roommate made you jump up.
roomie: you need to come to the party. roomie: i need help!!! roomie: pls it’s urgent pls!!
you immediately threw on whatever you could find and headed to the party.
the house was crowded, and as you searched for your friend, your eyes locked onto someone you never expected to see—nanami kento. what the hell was he doing at a party? especially when he had looked so dead tired earlier?
breaking eye contact, you continued searching for your friend, eventually finding her cornered in the backyard by some guy. anger surged through you as you ran over.
“hey! are you seriously the kind of asshole who takes advantage of drunk people?” you yelled, shoving the guy hard enough to make him stumble back.
“what the fuck’s your problem? she’s the one who wanted to come with me. who the hell are you to interfere?”
“listen, if you don’t back off right now, i’ll—” your words were cut off when the guy’s hands wrapped around your throat, slamming you against the wall.
“oh, please, tell me,” he sneered. “what are you gonna do? fight me in front of everyone?”
you struggled for air as your vision blurred, your teary eyes unable to make out what was happening. suddenly, the pressure on your neck disappeared, and you gasped for breath, coughing as oxygen filled your lungs again. through the haze, you recognized the deep, sharp voice of your rescuer.
“close your eyes,” nanami’s voice commanded softly. “i don’t want you to see what i’m about to do.”
then came the sound of fists connecting with flesh, followed by the guy’s groans of pain.
“people like you don’t understand words, so let me make this clear,” nanami growled. “if i ever see you looking at, talking to, or laying a hand on the woman i love—or any woman, for that matter—i swear to god, i'll kill you without a second thought.” you thought he might stop, but he didn't, continuing to beat the man relentlessly. “on second thought, i've changed my mind.”
someone had to stop him before he seriously hurt the guy—or worse. you tried to approach him, but before you could, geto and gojo had already pulled him away, calming him down.
your friend, finally snapping out of her shock, rushed over to check on you. your throat still ached, and your emotions were all over the place. earlier today, nanami had made it abundantly clear how much he hated you, yet here he was, saving you.
“god, this is all my fault. shit, your neck… are you sure you don’t need to go to a hospital?” your friend fretted.
you shook your head. “this isn’t your fault at all. that bastard deserved what he got. as for me, i’m fine. really. i’ll just put some cream on it—”
“i should’ve killed that bastard,” nanami muttered, his voice cold and firm. turning to face him, you saw his hands covered in blood. despite the situation, you couldn’t help but think he looked incredibly attractive.
violence is bad, you reminded yourself.
“thank you,” you said softly, “for saving me and my friend.”
nanami’s eyes, full of worry, settled on the red marks around your neck. his fingers hesitated before gently tracing the bruises. “always,” he murmured. his attention then shifted to your friend. “are you okay?”
your friend stammered, “y-yeah. thank you so much. i don’t know what would’ve happened if you hadn’t been here. i’ll be more careful from now on.”
“the only thing you need to be careful about is how much you drink. don’t blame yourself for some creep’s behavior.”
okay, maybe nanami had told you to stay away from him earlier, but every word he spoke now was making you fall for him even harder. how could you not be drawn to someone who was both a gentleman and terrifyingly capable of breaking bones?
“i guess i’ll have to drink less from now on. um, i’m going to the bathroom. you two seem like you have things to talk about.” your friend quickly excused herself, leaving you alone with nanami.
a heavy silence hung between you until you finally broke it. “i should go home.”
“of course. do you want me to drive you both home? i haven’t had anything to drink—”
“no, thank you,” you cut him off. “i don’t want to trouble you anymore. good night.” you managed a small smile and turned to leave, but his voice stopped you.
“wait. i… i’m sorry for today. i was out of line.”
okay there we go...
“i’m the one who should apologize. i didn’t mean to bother you. i just… never mind. i didn’t have bad intentions. i just wanted to be friends with you, that’s all.” you gave him a genuine but bittersweet smile.
“friends?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
“yeah. but nevermind. thanks again for saving us, and you should probably get your hands checked. they don’t look good—not just because of the blood, but you hit him so hard, i’m worried they’re broken—”
“do you remember what i told that guy?” he interrupted with an unrelated question.
“what?”
“i told him if he touched the woman i love, i’d kill him.”
oh.
you didn’t remember that part. you’d been too focused on trying to breathe. wait—why had he said that?
oh… maybe he meant your friend.
trying to hide your disappointment, you mumbled, “i-i didn’t hear that, but i’m sure my friend would be happy to—”
nanami let out a deep laugh. “you still don’t get it, do you?”
“get what?”
“what made you think the woman i love is your friend?”
“i don’t know.” you honestly didn’t. you just stared at him like an idiot.
his smile widened. “you wanted to be my friend,” he said slowly. then he leaned in close, his voice dropping to a whisper. “but i’ve never seen you as just a friend. and i never will.”
all you could do was swallow hard. every bone in your body trembled.
nanami kento was saying he liked you. no—he was saying he loved you.
nanami kento… loved you.
shit.
“okay,” you blurted out, the only response your brain could come up with.
“hmmm… is that all? what does that mean?” he asked, his tone teasing.
“it means i accept your feelings.”
“oh, i see. and what do you think of me?”
looking down in embarrassment, you muttered, “i think a few things…”
“good things?” he pressed, his voice still playful.
“not anymore.”
“why not?”
“you almost killed that guy,” you teased, even though you knew the bastard had deserved it.
brushing a strand of hair from your face, he smirked. “i don’t like seeing the things i care about get hurt.” his fingers trailed gently along your cheek. “if you’re free tomorrow, i’d like to take you out and change the way you see me.”
say yes! both your heart and brain screamed at you.
“it might be hard,” you replied, “but i’d like to see you try.”
“leave that to me.”
you both laughed, the tension easing between you. just as nanami was about to offer to drive you and your friend home again, a police officer approached.
“are you nanami kento?”
“yes, sir,” he replied confidently.
“you’ll need to come with me to the station to give a statement. you may spend the night in custody for assault.”
whoever said quiet, sexy men couldn’t commit crimes clearly hadn’t met nanami kento.

Series Masterlist ⭐︎ Previous Chapter ⭐︎ Next Chapter
Red, white and blue colors flash before your eyes, everywhere you look as you walk through the grocery store with Max. You can’t even bear to look at the holiday themed snacks and decorations on the shelves. All week, people have been preparing for a holiday, you used to love, now it’s nothing but a reminder of what you lost – of what Max lost.
You avoided going to Big Buy’s all week, for this exact reason.
But now you were the one who offered to go inside, when Eddie was the one who wanted to get the pre-drinks, you don’t even know why you did it, maybe it was to get away from Dustin’s and Lucas’s banter, or maybe you just wanted to prepare yourself for something much bigger.
The Fun Fair takes place this year, just as it did, last year. And you friends wanted to celebrate the Fourth of July there. You don’t mind, you really don’t, but every place you turn today, reminds you of a dear friend you lost.
Max walks beside you quietly. She looks around with heavy eyes and tension in her shoulders, she’s fidgeting with the bracelet that Lucas gifted to her, and keeps her eyes on the ground.
You didn’t say anything yet, not wanting to trigger any more sadness. You’re surprised that she even offered to go inside with you, she could’ve waited and stayed with the guys, but she didn’t.
“This day sucks.”
These are the first words she spoke out loud, ever since you stepped inside the store.
“Yeah,” you mumble, quietly, not knowing what to say, because all you can think about is Billy, and how he died on this exact day, one year ago, when you were still so unaware of the dark truth that lied beneath this town, when you thought that it was the fire that killed him and not one of Vecna’s creatures.
You weren’t even there, but thinking about it makes you sick and angry. You can’t even imagine what Max must’ve felt like that night. Or what she is feeling now.
When you stop in the drink aisle, you look around for the beer Eddie asked for, but instead your eyes fall on the one brand that Billy always used to buy. Sometimes he’d bring a six pack over and leave some cans in your fridge for some other time, you are pretty sure that there are still two leftover cans hidden behind all the other drinks in your fridge.
A sigh falls from your lips, “yeah, it does.”
She glances at you, sadness settling into her features, when she sees the way your eyes fill with grief.
“Billy would roll his eyes at us, right now,” she mumbles, trying to crack a joke.
A small chuckle escapes you, and you turn to look at her with a weak smile on your face, “yes, he would.”
She purses her lips as she looks at the beer, “are you gonna let me drink tonight?”
You scrunch your nose, and shake your head, “are you crazy?” You scoff, as you step forward and reach for the beers, Eddie asked for, and the ones Billy would have gotten for himself. “How about you turn twenty one first, and then I’ll let you drink.”
Max laughs at you and rolls her eyes.
“You’re not even twenty one, and you’re drinking – oh! And buying the beers with a fake ID probably!”
“Shush,” you wave your hand at her when an employee walks past you, giving you both a weird look.
“I’m very close to twenty one,” you whisper.
“You’re not even twenty yet–”
“I’m turning twenty, this year. Now stop arguing with me, and get yourself a coke or something.”
Max groans at you, “fine,” she murmurs as she follows you, “why are you even getting any drinks now when you can buy some at the Fair?”
“I’m pretty sure that Eddie doesn’t want to buy any of those overpriced drinks that taste like absolute shit.”
She snorts, “he shouldn’t even be drinking, he’s driving.”
“Don’t worry, he’ll walk you all home if he gets drunk.”
Her jaw drops, and annoyance flashes in her eyes, “are you serious–”
You laugh at the look on her face, shaking your head at her, “I’m just kidding, when does Eddie ever get drunk?” You chuckle, “he’ll have one beer tops, no more, he’ll sober up till then, and if not then uh… Steve will drive you home.”
“Okay,” she sighs, as the momentarily amusement leaves her face again, and the sadness begins to sink back in, making you much more aware of your own.
“Hey, Max?”
She turns back to you, and raises her eyebrows in question.
“If you feel overwhelmed at some point, you can find me and we can leave, at any time, okay?”
She smiles a little and nods her head.
“Okay,” she whispers, “same goes for you, if you want to leave, I’ll go with you.”
“Okay,” you smile at her, “now let’s go pay for these and get out of here,” you mumble as you gesture to the beer in your hands.
You feel relief rushing through you once you are out of the busy store again. The golden evening sun hits your skin, still blessing it with warmth, the air around you smells like summer, like fresh cut grass, hot pavement and honeysuckle. The wind kisses your skin and blows through your hair, it’s warm yet refreshing, it feels nice.
“Did you buy that for me?” Dustin grins at you, pointing at the beers when you get into the passenger seat.
Eddie glares at him through the rearview mirror.
“Very funny, Dusty Bun.”
Lucas laughs at the nickname, nudging his shoulder against Dustin’s, “Dusty Bun,” he cackles, wiggling his brows.
“Shut up, dude.”
“You kids are too young to even think about trying beer,” you glare at the three teens in the back, most specifically at Lucas, who’s had some before.
His smile falls a little, and he clears his throat, “that was one time.”
“Yeah, it better stay that way,” you point at him.
Max snorts at the glare on your face.
“Yes, mom.”
Eddie and Dustin chuckle.
Your jaw drops, and you furrow your brows at the teen who is squished between Max and Dustin.
“You act like a mom sometimes!” Lucas raises his hands up in surrender, shrugging at you.
“No, I don’t!”
“Yeah, you do, you’re mama bear,” Eddie snorts, making Dustin laugh louder.
“Yeah, you’re not fooling us with your grumpy act.”
You squint your eyes at the curly head, who is grinning happily at you.
“Just accept it, Sweetheart,” Eddie chuckles, “you’re the mom of the group.”
“No, I only joined this group a few months back, there has to be a different mom–”
“Oh no, we only had single dad Steve,” Lucas giggles, wiggling his eyebrows at you, “but we got a mom and a dad now, so…”
The smug look on his face, and the teasing in his eyes, isn’t exactly hard to miss. You know exactly what he is going at, what he has been going at for the past few months now.
Sometimes, you can’t help but wonder if he somehow knows about your feelings for Steve, if he always knew about them, or if he is simply just teasing and still in the dark about everything.
You are good at hiding your feelings, you always have been, no one ever found out about your feelings for Steve unless you wanted them to, but if there is someone who you wouldn’t underestimate, then it’s definitely Lucas, he is too smart for his own good, sometimes.
Eddie snorts beside you, mumbling, “mommy and daddy.”
You elbow him, into his side, earning a groan from him.
“That wasn’t very nice!” Eddie grumbles as he shoots you a glare, and presses his hand against his stomach.
“Don’t be so dramatic, Edward.”
He squints his eyes at you.
“Who is Eddie then?” Dustin asks.
“He’s the cool uncle,” Lucas shrugs.
“Damn right, now stop yapping,” Eddie mumbles as he takes a look over his shoulder, “are you ready to throw up Hot Dogs after going on the roller coaster?”
All three of them groan in disgust, scrunching up their faces, making him laugh.
You shake your head at him when he starts laughing.
“You’re such a menace.”
Eddie only chuckles at you, he starts the car and turns up the music, and he rolls down the windows before he speeds out of the parking lot.
You embrace the moments of peace before the chaos of the fair hits you, screaming children, crowds of people, and the overwhelming smell of food on every corner are something you are not looking forward to despite the hollowness in your stomach. You couldn’t get anything down the past few days, you nearly threw up this morning when you walked into the diner with Eddie, and the smell of Bacon hit you.
The wind weaves through your hair as Eddie drives down the main road.
The sound of music distracts you from your sad thoughts.
The thought of him, filling your heart with life and your soul with hope.
He grounds you in your worst moments, and he doesn’t even know it.
-
The fairground is alive with music and screaming children, the sound of the roller coasters moving, conversations and laughter from every corner. The dazzling lights are a stark contrast against the dark sky, the smell of food wafts through the air.
Robin and Vickie are standing next to Steve, giggling about something as they sip on their mixed beers. He is looking around, trying to catch sight of you, but you are nowhere to be found, and he is beginning to worry.
Max and El had dragged you away for a roller coaster ride, but that was over an hour ago, and he hasn’t seen you ever since.
Max had warned him before, when she reminded him of what this day means to you, of what happened a year back, of what and who you had lost.
Steve doesn’t know how you deal with grief, how you feel on these kinds of days, there are too many of them in your life. He doesn’t know how you cope, he wishes that he could be there for you and give you a shoulder to lean on – but you aren’t very good at showing your true feelings or emotions, he only saw a glimpse of the truth that you hide behind those high walls you built around yourself and he doubts that you would come to him for comfort.
A dreadful feeling is gnawing in his chest the more time passes without you being seen.
“Hey Dingus, we’re going on the Ferris Wheel,” Robin nudges his shoulder, grinning at him.
He blinks, tearing his eyes away from the crowds, he nods at his best friend.
“Sure, have fun.”
Robin furrows her brows as she takes in the sight of his frown, “are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he murmurs and plasters a smile on his face, “go and have fun with your girl.”
She hesitates, her smile becoming weaker now, “you should go find Eddie or Dustin.”
“Yeah, I will, in a second.”
“Your feet are not glued to the ground are they?” Vickie asks, chuckling.
“Yeah, you’ve been stuck in this spot for like thirty minutes now!” Robin exclaims as she points her ringed finger at him, eyeing the way he is leaning against the wall with tension in his body.
Steve chuckles, and brings his hand up to the side of his face, cupping his cheek for a moment, “I’m just looking out for the kids.”
Robin snorts, though she gives him a suspicious look.
“Ah, but they’re not around,” she says, tilting her head as she gestures to all the strangers that surround the field, instead of the teens.
“I told them I’d be here if they needed anything,” he shrugs and waves his hand at her, “now go and have your kiss on the top of the Ferris Wheel.”
Robin slaps his shoulder, her cheeks taking on a deep red color, as Vickie giggles behind her.
He chuckles at her, wiggling his brows and smirking at his best friend.
Robin rolls her eyes and turns away from him, she offers her hand out to the redhead, who reaches for it, though with a blush on her cheeks and a shy smile on her lips.
“See you later, Dingus,” Robin waves at Steve, not giving him the chance to respond before she drags her girl away and pushes through the crowds with her.
Steve’s eyes follow them until he can no longer see them as they get lost in the midst of the chaos. Laughing children run around, chasing each other, a group of teenage boys carrying drinks they shouldn’t be allowed to buy, two young women walk past him, giggling amongst themselves as they eye him with interest in their eyes, Steve pays no mind to them, not even bothering to spare them a look despite the very obvious glances he is getting, even as they had already passed him.
His eyes follow a different sight and his ears perk up at the sound of giggles that sound like yours, his lips twitch at the sound and his heart flutters wildly in his chest.
He pushes himself off the tree he is leaning against and turns to look around. Steve’s hazel eyes soften the moment he finally sees you.
You are standing in a circle with Eddie and his bandmates who all keep pestering you over something. Eddie leans closer to you and pinches your cheek, while Gareth jumps around you like some hyper puppy, his curls bouncing and his face flickering with amusement when you keep waving your hand at him.
Steve smiles at the giggle that falls from your lips when Eddie swats your hand away after you ruffle his curls.
He watches the way your lips move as you stare at him with a smug look on your face, saying something to him that makes him clutch his chest and gasp dramatically.
Steve shakes his head as the metalhead lunges at you and you squeal in surprise before you turn around and run off with a giggle, bolting into the crowd with Eddie and Gareth hot on your heels, while Jeff and Grant follow the three of you slowly, shaking their heads in amusement.
Surprise lingers inside of him, Steve had never seen you so playful before, he had never witnessed you letting loose and having genuine fun. You are always on guard, always hiding away behind your brooding act that is slowly becoming less and less visible.
Something has changed, something in your behavior has shifted in the past few weeks. You seem happier, you seem to smile more, you seem to be kinder to the people around you.
Your walls are still up, but the foundation has begun to crumble, just like his did.
You let him see a glimpse of something he never thought was even there, he saw your vulnerable side and your soft one, he saw how lovingly you treated your baby niece, he saw how sweet and gentle you could be – he saw the real you and it only made him weaker than ever before.
There was always a part of him that left him feeling weak whenever he was with you – it wasn’t a bad kind of weak, but it was one that scared him.
It doesn’t scare him anymore.
He embraces the weakness now.
Something, someone crashes into his chest, making him stumble back from the force, when he looks down, he finds you staring up at him, with your arms now wrapped around his waist and a softened look in your eyes as a smile rests on your lips. The dazzling, colorful lights from the rollercoaster and the ferris wheel only brighten the color of your eyes, making him get lost in them so easily.
He feels your arms around his torso, and your hands on his back, your chest is now pressed against his and if he didn’t know any better, he’d say that the look in your eyes is a dreamy one as they look into his.
The warmth in his chest blooms, the smile on his lips grows bigger, something in his stomach flutters when you stand on your tippy toes and remind him of the height difference between the two of you.
“Hi Stevie,” you say softly.
He would be lying if he said, he isn’t caught off guard by the tone in your voice and the look in your eyes, by your arms that are wrapped around him and your body that is pressed against his, so tightly and intimately, despite all the eyes that could see.
“Hi Blondie,” he smiles as he slowly wraps his arms around you and acts on his feelings, when he brings you closer.
The smell of your perfume is intoxicating and it does nothing to weaken the fluttering in his stomach. You smell like the cotton candy that you had shared with Max earlier and the beer you probably had been drinking all night, which is surprising, considering how much you despise the bitter taste of beer.
“I missed you.”
His eyes widen in surprise, and his eyebrows shoot up, the fluttering in his stomach now growing even stronger than before.
You woke up in each other's arms this morning, you even sat at the kitchen table and drank your morning coffee together before you left to meet up with Eddie.
But you missed him.
You missed him, like he missed you.
Maybe it’s the alcohol talking, or maybe not – he hopes not.
“Yeah?” He whispers.
You nod, your eyes flicker to his lips, before they move back up, to meet his.
“I missed you too, Blondie.”
He nearly crumbles when your smile grows even bigger and a blush creeps up on your face, a breathy, small giggle falls from your lips. And then, you surprise him once again, when you bury your face in his chest and hug him tightly.
His heart rate picks up and his breathing becomes heavy from all the emotions inside of him.
He certainly never met this side of you before, and he never even knew that you could become much softer than what he had already seen of you.
Without looking around to make sure that you are away from prying eyes, he wraps his arms tighter around you, and hugs you in a way he wanted to all night.
Confusion, adoration and happiness floods through him, all at once.
Here he thought that this day would bring out some darkness in you, that you would hide in a corner and try to drink away your sorrows but instead the alcohol in your system brought something else out in you.
As Steve holds you in the middle of the fairground and you slide your palm over his chest, resting your hand above the place where his heart beats strongly, he feels himself falling into your embrace, losing all his vision of the people and the things before him, losing all the sounds around him, no longer feeling the ground beneath his feet – all he sees is you, all he hears is the beating of his own heart, all he feels is you, only you.
And as though, it didn’t hit him hard enough already, you place your chin on his chest and you tilt your head up to look at him, giving him a sweet smile, “kissy?” You ask, puckering your lips.
He could melt into a puddle, right then and there.
Despite not wanting to, he lets his eyes roam the space around you, making sure that none of your friends are watching, before he leans in to place a kiss on your lips – one that is way too quick for your liking, the pout that follows your puckered lips makes his heart burst.
You look at him with literal puppy eyes, glinting with a pleading look.
He almost doesn’t recognize you – you are not the Blondie that he saw a few hours back, but he is not complaining in the slightest, he really likes this side of you.
Cupping your cheeks, he rests his large palms against your skin, his fingertips getting lost in your hair as he leans down to kiss you again, smacking his lips against yours, he delivers a loud kiss, one that makes you giggle when he pulls away again and looks down at you with a lazy smile on his face.
“How much did you drink?” Steve asks, chuckling when you keep staring at him with a big smile.
“Just a little bit,” you slur, and raise your hand to show him as you furrow your brows and hold your thumb and pointer finger into an L shape, “so much.”
He laughs as he tucks your hair behind your ears, “alright.”
“I want something else now.”
“What, more alcohol?” Steve asks, raising his brows.
You shake your head, scrunching up your nose in a way that makes him smile as he looks at you adoringly.
“No, I think I had too much already.”
“Yeah, I think so too, honey,” he murmurs, the nickname rolling off his tongue easily, almost normal, “you don’t feel sick, do you?”
“No, just thirsty.”
“Alright, let’s get you something to drink then,” he says, unable to stop smiling, when you look at him this way. He moves his hands away from your face and he reaches for your hand, sliding his palm against your own, he entwines his fingers with yours, and you welcome his action, happily.
Steve isn’t drunk, he didn’t have a single sip of alcohol this evening, not a single drag of Argyle’s joint and yet, he feels as though he is under the influence of something strong, his mind is in a haze, that careless and freeing feeling lingers in his chest, happiness and giddiness rushes through him and he feels as though he is floating with you.
He can’t even find it in himself to care if anyone sees him with you like this – smiling at each other, hugging and kissing one another, holding hands, and acting like a couple. He knows your friends are here, but Steve just doesn’t give a damn – not even when Heidi walks past him with her friends and they all look at you weirdly.
He hears the hushed whispers, he sees the squinted eyes as they look you up and down and their eyes fall on your entwined fingers. He pays no mind to the way they look at him, but irritation sparks at him when they keep staring at you. He can see the judgment, and the jealousy, it’s so obvious.
Steve holds back the eyeroll and he grasps your hand tighter as he begins to drag you away from the prying eyes and the whispers of envy. He would rather kiss you and flip them off but he cannot risk this, he can’t risk you two getting caught. Rumors would circulate, words would get twisted and it would only be a matter of time until all your friends would find out.
And he isn’t ready to get caught, he isn’t ready to lose this, to lose you.
He glances down at you, seeing the smile that didn’t leave your face just yet. You are unaware to all the eyes on you, to the looks you were given, you are still holding onto his hand as tight as before, stepping closer to him when a group of boys rush past you.
You turn to him and raise your head to glance at him, shooting him a sweet smile as you squeeze his hand, causing his heart to flutter and his smile to reappear.
You are so cute like this.
He pulls you closer and shields you from anyone who brushes past you as you walk through the crowd together, getting lost in the chaotic field, where the music is louder and the people are too.
Steve looks around, trying to catch sight of the teens or Eddie and his bandmates but he only sees the town people that he couldn’t care less about while you follow him like some lost puppy, clinging to his side and looking up with big eyes, every few seconds or so.
You both get in line at the drink stall, your hands are still joined, fingers entwined and arms still pressed together. You stumble into him, prompting him to hold you a little tighter.
“I’m sorry,” you slur as you reach your free hand up to grab his arm.
“It’s fine,” he chuckles at you, adoring you a little more and more as the seconds pass.
You are drunk – not tipsy, not slightly drunk, no, you are genuinely and definitely drunk. And as he stands here with you, eying you closely and watching the way you keep looking up at him with your widened pupils and your lazy smiles, he realizes that he had never actually witnessed you being drunk – high and tipsy? Sure. But never drunk.
“Why’d you drink so much, Blondie?”
“I didn’t even drink that much,” you shrug, “I’m just not used to drinking that beer.”
Steve raises his brows, knowing how much you despise the taste of regular beer. You only drink it when it’s mixed with something.
“What kind of beer?”
You furrow your eyebrows, your eyes flash with confusion, you seemingly can’t remember the name of it.
You look down and your eyes widen when you find a discarded can on the grass, you point your finger at it, “that one.”
Steve’s eyes follow your gaze and the direction your finger is pointing at, he raises his eyebrows again.
“You don’t even like beer that much,” he mumbles and turns back to you.
“Billy did,” you shrug.
Oh.
His features relax again and his shoulders slump a little, realization flickers in his eyes.
You didn’t drink for fun, you were trying to forget about the sadness and the grief that must’ve lingered all day.
He is surprised that the alcohol didn’t have a negative effect on you. Drinking while feeling sad can worsen those emotions, the alcohol can transform them into a darker sadness or even into anger and despair.
But you seem fine, happy even.
If only he knew that he is the reason for it.
“The fireworks are about to start,” you say, pulling him out of his thoughts.
He blinks.
“Yeah,” Steve nods.
“Do you want to watch them with me?”
His heart skips a beat at the softness in your voice, at the hopeful look in your eyes and the sweet smile on your lips.
Of course he does.
“Yeah,” he smiles, nodding. “I’d love to.”
Your eyes crinkle as you beam at him, stealing his breath away with simple reactions like these.
Steve is not even sure if anyone had ever looked at him this way, no one has ever even made him feel this way, no one had ever stolen his breath away just from simply looking at him the way you do now.
You take him by surprise when you stand on your tippy toes and lean closer to him to place a kiss on his cheek, leaving him a blushing mess.
Your giggle sounds like music to his ears, your touch drives him crazy as you squeeze yourself against him and lay your head on his chest as your arms come around his torso again.
He could fall to his knees right here, right now.
Is this the real you?
Is this the side you’ve been hiding from the world?
Is this the way you would have always been with him, had you not experienced so much loss and pain?
Steve wraps his arms around you, unable to hold back from showing and giving you the affection that you are blessing him with in this moment, even when the anxiety of getting caught still lingers.
He cups your cheeks and leans closer to your ear, “where do you wanna watch the fireworks?”
“Maybe the woods? Or the big field?” You ask as you look at him with big eyes, “so we can be away from all these annoying people?”
He laughs when you gesture to the loud fairground visitors.
The lights that flicker around you kiss your beautiful face and your skin that he wants to feel on his at any time, your lips that always look so inviting, you look so delicate, so soft, so gorgeous, you look like someone that could ruin his life and right in this moment, he doesn’t even mind it, he would let you.
It hits him, in this second, it hits him just how bad he’s got it for you.
Steve Harrington is down bad.
Down bad to a point in which he almost calls you ‘my girl’ when he is about to order your drink, he catches himself just in time but he can’t hide the blush that creeps up on his face.
You don’t seem to notice though, you swing your joined hands back and forth and look around with a contentment in your relaxed features.
He hands you the ice cold pepsi after placing the ten dollar bill on the small desk, telling the teen behind the counter to keep the change.
“That was nice of you,” you say as you both start walking away from the drink stall and from the crowds.
“What, letting him keep the change?”
You nod and let go of his hand to open your can.
“Poor guy has to work on a holiday, he should get a good tip,” Steve shrugs, already missing the feeling of your hand in his, he raises his arm and wraps it around your shoulder instead, pulling you closer against him.
Your lips twitch at that, a smile forms on your face.
“Still, that was nice of you, you’re a nice guy,” you giggle.
“Well, I gotta make up for all the times I wasn’t a nice guy.”
You don’t say anything to that, you can’t. Steve doesn’t even blame you, you witnessed him in his worst moments, you were his target, more than once.
You shot back at him but your words weren’t hurtful, your insults and your jabs were never personal. You got under his skin, but not in the way he got under yours.
He truly wasn’t a nice guy to you and that might be one of his biggest regrets. He was mean, awful even and now as he looks at you, at the cute frown on your face as you pop the can, at the way you take a sip of your favorite drink and smile afterwards, he can’t understand how he could ever treat you so unkindly, how he didn’t see you before.
You might’ve been rough, snarky and unapproachable but there was never denying of how beautiful you are, how beautiful you have always been.
How come he never asked you out?
He might’ve never seen this side of you before and he only ever knew one side of you, but your snarkiness wouldn’t have kept King Steve away from you, if anything, your little act should’ve made him more intrigued.
And now he can’t help but wonder what things would have been like had he not treated you the way he did, had he asked you out and fought for a chance with you.
Could’ve things been different then?
Would you have fallen in love with him?
Would you have prevented the heartbreak that Nancy had cursed him with two years ago?
The pain from his last relationship no longer matters to Steve, not since you, but this question still lingers.
“This spot is perfect.”
You pull him out of the past and back into the presence with a tug on his hand.
Steve looks around, you are no longer surrounded by people, instead it’s the trees that are around you and him, you’re at the edge of the forest, not far enough to drown at the music and the chatter but quiet enough to hear your voice clearer now, it’s much darker out here but he can still see you well enough.
You close your eyes and drink your pepsi, completely unaware of his unwavering glances. A sigh leaves your lips and you place the now half full can on the ground before you step closer to him and reach for his hand again, taking a look at the watch around his wrist, you squint your eyes and lean down closer, “it’s about to start any minute.”
He smiles at you, nodding his head slowly, “yeah.”
Steve feels the urge to pull you tight against him, to hold you and kiss you like he never did before.
You look up and meet his eyes when you notice his staring, a smile appears on your lips, “what?” You ask with a soft giggle.
He shakes his head and shrugs, “nothing.”
You bite your lip and he wants nothing more than to grab your face and kiss you breathless.
You raise your eyebrows at him and stare back at him, stumbling over air as you try to take a step closer to him, making you both chuckle at your drunken clumsiness, your hand falls against his body, while he grabs your waist, steadying you on your own feet, “whoa, easy tiger.”
You giggle at the nickname, making his own smile widen.
“You’re really drunk, aren’t you?”
You don’t even deny it, in fact, you don’t even answer the question as you keep staring up at him, keeping your hands against his chest as your eyes flicker from the spitcurl that hangs over his forehead, his eyes and his lips.
Steve’s stomach flutters just the way his heart does, his skin tingles beneath from your touches, the look in your eyes makes him want to kiss you even more.
“You’re feeling okay though, right?” He whispers as he slowly brings his hand up to the side of your face and he cups your cheek.
“Yeah, I’m okay now,” you nod, leaning into his touch, “I-I just… I miss him.”
Steve might never understand the friendship you had with Billy, he only knew the ugly sides of him but you knew more, you saw deeper, you were his friend – something Steve didn’t even know Billy had, he was sure the guy didn’t even know what the term ‘friendship’ even meant.
“And that’s okay, Blondie,” he says, giving you a sad smile, “it’s okay to miss people and to grieve for them.”
Tears well up in your eyes and your lips curl downwards.
Steve didn’t mean for this to happen, he didn’t mean to make you cry.
“Hey,” he whispers, pulling you closer as he catches the first tear with his thumb, “it’s okay, honey.”
You sniffle and roll your eyes at yourself, “he would punch me in the face for crying,” you joke.
Steve can’t help but laugh.
“And he’d make fun of me for being with you, he would like–” you pause and lean in to peck his lips, “he would smack my head if I did that in front of him!” You say with a giggle, despite the tears that still keep falling.
His cheeks heat up at the kiss, the need for more growing strong in his chest.
“He really didn’t like me, huh?”
“Not one fucking bit, Stevie,” you chuckle sadly.
Steve wonders how things would be if he was still here, would this thing between you even work out?
Would Billy keep you away from him?
“But nothing could take me away from you, he’d just have to suck it up,” you whisper as you peck his lips again, shutting down the worries in his head.
He almost feels his pulse in his throat as his heart beats faster, your words doing little to calm the beating of his heart.
“Oh?” Is the only thing he can say as all the other words freeze in his brain.
You nod as you look into his eyes deeply, refusing to break eye contact. He notices the way your chest starts moving faster as your breathing gets heavier, he sees the way your smile transforms into a nervous frown and your throat bobs as you try to come up with words.
His breath hitches in his throat when you whisper his name shakily.
“I–”
Whatever you were about to say gets lost in the wind as the loud explosion in the sky cuts you off and tears your attention away from him. The colors pop in the sky, illuminating the darkened space around you both.
You tilt your head to watch the lights that reflect in your eyes, the smile you wore before makes its way back into your pretty face, the tension in your body disappears and you relax into him again.
But while your drunken mind gets distracted by all of this so easily, Steve only really sees you. He doesn’t look up just yet, he lets himself admire you for a moment.
Your eyes light up as they meet his for a brief second, flashing with awe.
His heart could jump out of his chest from how hard it’s beating, his knees could give out any moment now.
“Look!” You beam at him as you point your finger at the blue colors.
His gaze follows yours but it returns to your face so quickly, something about you pulls him in, a magnet, a string, a strong connection – he can’t identify it yet, but he feels like his whole being yearns for you and not just sexually.
He wants to keep doing this, he wants to keep holding your hand, he wants to keep hugging you, he wants to keep spending time with you like this, he wants to stand under the night sky with you, and he especially wants to do this.
“Hey,” he whispers as he cups your cheeks with both hands, pulling your attention back to him.
You greet him with an adoring smile, “hi,” you whisper.
Steve caresses your cheek, he is starting to lean in closer, fading out the colors that flash in his peripheral vision, before his lips can even touch yours, you throw your arms around his neck and beat him to it, pressing your lips against his over and over again before you move on to both of his cheeks and even the tip of his nose as you start showering him in kisses, catching him off guard completely.
Steve giggles in surprise, his cheeks match the colors that lighten up the sky as they glow red.
And then, you finally pull him into a longer kiss.
You close your eyes and he does too, your lips start moving slowly, passionately. You rest your hands on his neck and steal his breath away by deepening the kiss as you slip your tongue into his mouth and let him have a taste of your sweetness, the cotton candy and the pepsi still linger on your lips.
Your noses bump into each other and you break the kiss with a giggle, giving him a sweet smile before you lean back in again, kissing and continuing to steal his breath away, not knowing what you have just done to his poor heart, how much life, how much hope you have filled it with.
A smile, a giggle, a simple kiss with you is all it takes for all the defense around him to crumble into dust.
Something he thought he lost seeps back into his heart, something he thought that stayed in the past and to never be touched again blooms in him.
Everything inside of him screams in joy, his stomach doing somersaults, his skin prickling from the excitement, his lips tugging into a smile even through the kiss that he deepens more and more.
This kiss is different from all the other ones you have shared before, this one means something, this one won’t lead to you tearing each other’s clothes off. No, this is just a kiss.
A kiss that means everything.
A kiss that changes everything.
You stole his breath completely and made it your own, you stole his heart, his soul, his whole being.
And the noise of the fireworks, the sparks igniting from them, match those in Steve's heart. Just exploding, bursting, burning him from inside out.
And he embraces the feeling fully.
He wants more of this, more of you.
He wants to cross a line, he wants you in a whole new way and he is no longer ashamed to admit it to himself.
It feels like forever as you stand there beneath the sparkling sky, kissing and staying in each other’s embrace as you both savor every second of this moment, only pulling away to catch your breaths before you lean back in for more.
The fireworks stop, but only those in the sky.
Your lips are still moving with each other, your tongues still mingling together, whines and whimpers fall from you – tonight, they don’t fill him with lust and need, no, tonight they fill him with adoration.
Your arms tighten around his neck, your nose is flush against his as you refuse to break the kiss but the lack of air makes it impossible and it forces you away from him, though you don’t pull away too far, only enough to catch your breath.
Steve leans his forehead against yours, slowly opening his eyes to look into yours, his heart flutters yet again when he sees how wide your eyes are, how they flicker with deep emotions.
Unable to hold back, he leans in to peck your puffy lips one more time.
“Steve,” you whisper as your hands begin to slip from his shoulders to his chest.
“Yes?”
“Can I be with you tonight?”
He furrows his brows at your question, he wants you to be with him tonight, he wants you with him every night.
“Of course, Blondie.”
You smile at him though it’s a weak one and it makes him frown.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” you shake your head, scrunching your nose.
“Are you feeling sick?” He asks, tilting your head up.
You shake your head again, “just really tired.”
Your words are still slurred, the alcohol still deep in your system.
“Let’s go home then.”
“Do you want to go?” You ask, looking at him with a cute frown on your face as you tilt your head to the side, “I-I can still wait if you want to stay here longer.”
Steve smiles at you, shaking his head, “no, I want to go home with you.”
The smile on your lips replaces the frown.
He brushes his thumb against your bottom lip and stares at you adoringly.
“Come on, we should tell Eddie.”
You pick up your discarded drink before you slide your fingers through his, intertwining your fingers with his again.
“Let’s go,” he whispers, squeezing your hand.
You follow him without a single word, walking beside him quietly as you make your way out of the woods and back into the fair where the lights are bright and he can see you better now.
It’s still just as crowded as it was before and just as loud.
Steve keeps you close, glancing at you, he notices the squinted eyes and how displeased you look by all the noises and the people around you.
He holds your hand tighter, giving it another reassuring squeeze.
“I can’t wait to go to sleep,” you mumble, taking the last few sips of your soda before you throw it into the trashcan you pass by. You wrap your free hand around his bicep and squish your cheek against it.
Steve’s smile widens, his eyes glint with nothing but fondness.
“There you are!”
Steve turns to find Eddie walking towards you both, throwing his hands up with a worried look on his face that slowly begins to disappear when he realizes that you have been with him all this time, though his eyebrows pull together when he sees your entwined hands and the closeness between you.
Steve expects you to run away from him and into your best friend’s arms, but you don’t, you stick to his side.
“Hi Eddie!” You mumble lazily as a smile appears on your face.
You all halt in your tracks once you meet in the middle.
“Hey sweets, are you okay?” He asks, eying you up and down one more time.
“Peachy!”
“Where have you been?”
Steve clears his throat, “we watched the fireworks from the woods and now I’m gonna take this one home, she’s tired.”
Eddie squints his eyes at him, giving a once over now – the way he has been doing it for some time now, like he is suspicious of his actions, like he wants to figure him out so he can protect you from him and irritates Steve.
“I can take her home,” Eddie shrugs.
“No!” You protest, clinging to Steve’s arm, you hold him tighter not wanting to be pulled away from him.
Steve chuckles softly, he looks down at you adoringly.
“Don’t worry, Eddie. I’ll take her home to sleep, maybe shove some coffee down her throat, see if that helps. I am sensing I’m having a hungover Blondie tomorrow.”
Eddie raises one eyebrow at him, he crosses his arms over his chest, defensively. And Steve notices it from the corner of his eye, causing the smile to leave his face as a frown etches into his features instead.
“I’m not doing anything if that's what you’re fucking thinking, Munson.”
Eddie raises his hands up in surrender, “sorry, can’t blame me for caring.”
That… Stings.
That actually hurts his feelings.
He may not be as close to Eddie as you are to him, but Eddie knows him well enough to know that he would never do anything like this.
“You really think I’m that disgusting?” Steve asks, not bothering to hide the hurt in his voice.
Eddie sighs.
Of course he doesn’t.
He is just protective of his best friend, of her feelings.
Neither of you notice the way you keep looking between them, completely lost and confused.
“I don’t know what kind of deal you both have, Steve, but I’m allowed to care. I would’ve given her the same look if the roles were reversed.”
“She’s not like that,” Steve argues instantly.
Eddie sighs again, uncrossing his arms, he drops them to his side as he takes a look at the sky with a long sigh.
“I know she’s not, I know you’re not. Just… take care of her…”
Steve is still hurt by Eddie’s reaction, by the accusing look in his eyes, like Steve would do anything to hurt you.
He knows that it might only be because you are his best friend, because he feels protective of you, because he doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you – but to know that he was worried about you while you were with him makes him feel sick.
Steve would never do anything to hurt someone, let alone you.
“Can we go now?” You ask, looking up at him with big eyes.
A weak smile appears on his face as he looks down at you, “yeah, we can go.”
Steve doesn’t notice the way Eddie’s squinted eyes linger on him, the way he looks down at your hands, watching as Steve pulls you closer despite you being glued to his side already.
He can’t help but sigh when he sees the way you look at him, the dreaminess and the love is so evident and it worries him, your feelings for Steve worry him because he fears that he will break your heart, that he will rip it out of your chest.
Eddie is so focused on his worries, he doesn’t even see the way Steve looks at you.
“I’m gonna call you tomorrow, Eds.”
Eddie smiles at you, “yeah, alright.”
Steve nods at Eddie, only giving him a small smile as he starts pulling you away.
“Bye man,” Steve mumbles as he brushes past him.
“Bye Eddie!”
“Yeah, sleep well, sweets.” Eddie smiles, waving at you.
Walking away from the fairground and leaving behind the crowds of people and your best friend feels like a relief to Steve. He can’t move past the glances the metalhead gave to him, the worried looks he spared you as though you were in some kind of danger with him.
He can’t confront him, he can’t talk to him about it and tell him how wrong he is though, he would give away his feelings and he can’t do that.
You walk beside him quietly, not a single word falls from your lips, you just keep holding his hand, looking up at him every once in a while until you make it to his car.
Steve opens the door for you, begrudgingly letting go of you so you can get inside, he helps you buckle in your seatbelt, a surprised chuckle falls from his lips when you use the opportunity to kiss his cheek and he can’t even help himself but do the same to you, smacking his lips against your cheek to give you a loud smooch, one that makes you giggle.
He can see the tiredness in your eyes, the way you slowly blink and how you sink deeper into the car seat as you yawn.
“Let's get you into bed, honey.”
Steve keeps the music on low during the drive home, you keep dozing off as your head keeps falling to the side but every time you open your eyes again, you look at him and you keep your eyes on him, making him blush beneath your softened gaze.
And then, you make his heart swell and his chest vibrate when you place your hand on his thigh and smile at him sweetly.
Everything about you drives him crazy today.
Every glance, every touch, every word, every kiss.
You have brought something out in him, something that was buried deep inside, hidden and locked away but you have found the key, you unlocked it, you brought something back that he thought was impossible to ever resurface again and you made it yours, you made him yours, all yours.
And now, he wants to give you everything.
He wants to take care of you, he wants to shower you with affection, he wants to be the one for you.
You’re making things complicated but in the most amazing of ways, in the most beautiful of twists that he couldn’t believe would happen again for him. Your small glances are enough to turn a flame in his entire body, your hand on his thigh as he parks at his home enough to send butterflies in his stomach, butterflies that he swore died when Nancy broke his heart.
Your touch is enough to make him tremble and make his knees buckle, when he helps you out of his car, both of you laugh as you almost fall right on your ass, even with his help. He is happy. He is content. He is extremely giddy when he is with you, as if he were fourteen all over again.
Even when you are not like this, when you are not this bubbly uncaring self, he still enjoys his time with you. He enjoys the accidental snorts that make him laugh as you swat him to try to stop him from laughing. The happy delighted moans you give when you try his cooking. The out of nowhere conversations in the mornings that you two now share together.
He likes it when you put on that strong wall, it makes you look cute, it makes him want to break it down. He loves the small banter, the pretend fights when you two are with the whole group, the way you pinch his side when you walk past him when no one is looking. He adores it.
When he finally manages to get you inside, he immediately urges you into the kitchen, making you drink water, not pepsi, despite your pouts and your teary eyes which almost make him become a puddle on the floor. He also gives you a leftover chicken sandwich he had in his fridge so you would eat something to absorb the alcohol.
“Eat at least half of that.” He commands and you just grumble something, cutely so, underneath your breath as you take a bite. He knew you probably didn’t eat anything at the fair, a possible reason for your drunkenness.
“I’ll eat… if you give me a kiss.” And just like that you pucker your lips his way and his heart can barely handle it. He licks his lips before leaning towards you and placing them on yours in a soft peck, a quick one. You smile before taking the first bite, and when you swallow it seems as if it turns on the hunger in your belly because you devour that sandwich in seconds.
He hopes you keep it down your stomach for the whole night and that it helps you feel okay in the morning. He wonders how you will act tomorrow, if you’ll remember all of this, if you’ll remember how much you kissed him, how you made him feel. He should tell you… He should…
But what if it’s the alcohol doing its thing?
“Okay, let’s go to bed.” And doing so turns out to be a challenge because as soon as you finish your food and water, your eyelids start to drop. Getting you off the stool and dragging you upstairs is easy but keeping you sitting up as he tries to change you into his clothes, that is another issue.
“I don’t wanna…” You mumble as you throw yourself back down onto the mattress, chest bare. He would have gotten riled up, if it weren’t for the fact he felt domestic, fluttery, and his chuckles came out easily out of his lips when looking at you.
“You have to, it’s just the shirt, come on.” His voice is soft as he talks to you, making you raise yourself up again, sitting in front of him and raising your arms up for him to slide his shirt on you. As soon as it’s on, you bounce back and get comfortable in his pillow with a contented sigh. He smiles at you as he takes off his shirt and starts unbuckling his belt in order to get comfortable. His own tiredness is starting to take a toll on his body.
He doesn’t notice that you had turned your head to look at him again, and a wolf whistle is heard in the room, making him turn to look at you. You have a cheeky smile on your face and he feels himself blushing slightly as he laughs, taking his pants off next, leaving him in boxers only.
“As if you haven’t seen it before.” He says and it only makes you whistle again as he saunters over with a shake of his head, a smile still plastered on his lips.
“Doesn’t mean I can’t adore it everytime,” you whisper.
And that makes the smile drop, but in shock. Your words went deep, soothing over wounds that had been created long ago, and he doesn’t mean his scars. He has to clear his throat in order to walk towards the bed and get inside right next to you, only for you to immediately crawl on top of him, laying your chin on his chest, looking at him.
It holds so much adoration for some reason, a sparkle that makes Steve’s stomach turn, hope that rose in his throat like vomit, ready to come out, overwhelming him. You are looking at him as if he hung the stars for you, as if he were your only person in the entire world.
And he knows he is looking down at you in the exact same way.
“What now?”
“You’re just so pretty… It’s stupid how pretty you are.” He chuckles, making his chest rumble and for you to bounce up and down with it.
You pout but it’s followed by a smile, “it’s true, you are.”
“I’m not told that very often Blondie.” He honestly replies and that makes you raise your head up and look down at him with determination in your eyes. “Wh–”
He can’t even finish his question because your lips start going crazy on his face, but softly, caring, taking extra time on following the lines of moles he has on his jaw. He is startled, shocked, for no one ever did this to him, not even his own mother. No one ever showered him with affection, with kisses.
And as though that wasn’t sweet and surprising enough, you nuzzle your nose against his, giggling when a big smile appears on his face.
You are cute. You are so fucking cute.
It is an overwhelming feeling, one that almost makes him feel like crying.
Your lips pressed on the tip of his nose as you pulled away, a proud smile on your face, and he wonders what is going through your mind right now. If it it’s all true, fuck, he wants it all to be true. He needs it to be true. He needs and desires that you are doing all of this intentionally to him, despite the alcohol.
“There, now you know.”
You really are beautiful, so beautiful. He feels drunk on you, seeing you, feeling you… his hand rises up, not able to contain himself as it runs through the back of your head and pulls you down to his lips, letting him give you a deep kiss. A kiss that made the fireworks he saw earlier explode inside his room again.
You follow his lips with a hum, and he doesn’t want to pull away. He needs it all. He needs you. Not in the way he has been having you the past month. Not at all, not even close.
He lets you pull away, and his hand caresses your cheek, pulling your head down to rest on his chest again as your legs intertwine with his underneath the sheets. He wonders if you can hear how fast his heart is beating. If it bangs your head from how hard he feels his chest being hit with it.
“Sleep Blondie.” He wishes anything but that, but he needs the silence, the time alone.
“Hmm… night Stevie…” And he knows your eyes are closed, that you mumble that with the last bit of strength you had. His eyes remain on the ceiling as his mind starts working, gears going round and round, going overtime.
He had been running from the definition of the feeling, even if he knew it was there, even if he accepted everything else that came with it. He kept running and running, and now he had hit a wall.
So it’s time to stop and turn around to face you.
Steve Harrington decides to stop running as he looks down at you and his lips press at the top of your head while his arms hold you tighter. You whine in your sleep, yet your cheek nuzzles even more into his chest.
He can’t deny you anymore. Not when you look like this in his arms. Not when you peppered his face with kisses he never received. Not when he saw you in a vulnerable moment of yours. Not when he gets to see you moan in pleasure because of him. Not when he gets to see you have fun with everyone else. Not when you saved his life, going headfirst for him. Not when you already send smiles his way that make his heart stop.
And if you wake up tomorrow with a headache, he will be waiting for you with coffee in hand, an advil, and some food, ready to help you. To take care of you. He will let you lay in his bed all the time you need, all in order to make you feel better.
Because Steve Harrington started feeling again.
He likes you. He terribly and adoringly likes you… and he is afraid because–
It’s nowhere near little. Not at all.
“Can’t believe I fell for you, Blondie.”

A Very Niche Level-Up + Looksmaxxing Idea List for 2025
This list is for the girls that get it. It’s niche and not for everyone, but I’m throwing up at the fact that every “how to level up in 2025” post talks about journaling sad pages 24/7, drinking 8 cups of water a day, and walking 10k steps. How original.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, this is a very niche set of ideas. If you can’t relate then you can’t relate. But if you enjoy a good plastic surgery post and luxe lifestyle, maybe you will :)
1. Upgrade your car. We’re getting the Lexus’, the BMW’s, the Mercedes, the Jag’s, etc.
2. Upgrade your home. We’re living in high rises, we’re living in coastal areas, we’re living up in the mountains, we’re living where Amazon can drop our package off and we don’t have to worry about a porch pirate; we’re living in nice areas and in nice units/homes.
3. Breast augmentation.
4. Rhinoplasty.
5. Medical grade skincare.
6. Fresh, organic whole foods; focusing on lean protein, nuts and seeds, mushrooms, onions, leafy greens, pro/prebiotics, sea moss gel, etc.
7. Russian manicures and pedicures or a good acrylic set. Dip powder had its thing for a while but I’m not going to dip my nail in a powder everyone else dipped their nails. I bet they don’t even wash their hands and if they did, they prob didn’t even use soap.
8. Laser hair removal. Everywhere. If you want a design down there that’s cool, but you literally use the bathroom and it drips in the hair. “Oh but I use a wipe”. Okay, next time you need to wash your hair.. don’t use shampoo. Use a wipe. Invest in a bidet but still, hair shouldn’t be in your 🍑 or near the sensitive areas of your 🦋 the top is fine but if you have a period, pee, or “the other thing”, hair should be no where near those areas.
9. Lip filler. Everyone can benefit. Ask for a pout that sticks out a little bit. I don’t suggest a lip flip, I couldn’t do anything with a lip flip and it was driving me nuts.
10. Fake tan. Sunlight is fine but a spray tan just makes you look a million times better. Every skin tone and every race benefits from a spray tan. Trust.
11. Muscle definition. Muscle looks so much better than fat AND bones. You want muscle. Did you see how Bella Hadid had her foot on our necks at the VS fashion show this year? I was sickkkkkk.
12. Long hair. But if you have a face shape like Hailey Beiber, short hair looks better.
13. Makeup. Remember water-based products and oil-based products don’t mix, so make sure you choose your products wisely so your makeup doesn’t separate and you look a mess.
14. A better paying job. I left my hospital job and now I work in luxury real estate and international yacht sales.
15. Red light therapy for face and body. I have a body red light therapy dome that I got online for around $3,000 (USD) and it’s life. The one I have for the face is from Sephora and I spent like $400-$500 on that one. Whatever it says on the website.
16. Lashes. If you’re a pro at strip lashes, then yes. But I get my lashes done. Do not go crazy. Natural lashes are in so I ask for a classic whispy set focused for thickening my lash line and NOT for length.
17. Morpheus8 for skin tightening. I used it on my inner thighs and it literally saved my life
18. Lipo. If you’re a good candidate, get it. Sometimes belly pooch is hard to lose. I don’t have a pooch but I’m sure when I have kids I will.
19. Vampire facials. I can confidently say my best facials were vampire facials. My med spa charges around $950 for each facial
20. People can tell you’re wearing Shein. Their clothes are cute online but I’m going to hold your hand when I say this, they never look flattering in person when they’re being worn. People can see the loose thread and the see-through material. They also don’t fit anyone well and makes a lot of you look square. You get what you pay for in clothing. Learn about the basics of clothing and you’ll quickly only buy quality.
Yeah this list isn’t meant for everyone, but walking 10,000 steps isn’t going to take you to the next level. Neither is drinking water. They’re good habits, but they’re not going to level you up. And yeah I understand my list requires having money, but this is literally what my blog is about.
My 2025 Mindset Level Up book is here!

Requests: always open 24/7
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Johnny ca(needs to be arrested asap)ge
Oh boy…why did you have to get this man started?? I'm going to assume you just thrifted a pretty white dress, not realizing it was a wedding dress in the impulsivity of the buy.
When you got back home to try it on, it unexpectedly fit like a glove. Accentuating every nice thing about your body. The lace and embroidered rhinestones made everything just 100 times better. A gorgeous glam dress that you’re sure Johnny would love just as much as you do.
Excited, you waited by the front door for his arrival to show off your new purchase.
Immediately he froze at the doorstep, the sight of you in this little git up took him aback.
You stuck a cute pose and did a full body spin to show him every detail, egarly asking him what he thought.
“Ta-Daaaaa! So, what do ya think? I picked it out at the charity shop down the street. I figured it’d be perfect for a special occasion..”
Girl you are so damn foolish😩 that man is going feral now
Johnny had been playing his obsession very cool this entire time. Only maybe slipping up once but now…???
That “special occasion” is obviously the day you’ll become his wife. What day is more special than that?! He’s so happy that you initiated this first. He’s been wanting to make you his forever since he’s met you and obviously you feel the same way too.
See, you’re perfect for each other! He knew you were the one. Only a bit sad he didn’t realize your feelings sooner or else he would’ve taken you to Vegas months ago.
“When I gave you my credit card to get something nice I didn’t expect for you to buy a wedding dress. I’m not complaining tho~ it was only a matter of time until it happened.”
….what?
You had looked back down at your dress and realized that it did look oddly similar to one…but that was just a coincidence.
You explained to him that no, it wasn’t supposed to be a wedding dress. You had picked it up because of the detailing, you figured it’d be perfect for the next red carpet.
Ohhhhh he sees what you’re doing here. You’re playing dumb, this was only a hint that you wanted him to claim you. He’ll promptly propose. It’s the traditional way of doing things. ;)
You reiterated again, more seriously this time that this was only a dress for his red carpet. Honestly more of an impulse buy if anything. You hadn’t realized what the dress actually was. It was far too soon to get married and you wasn’t even certain if Johnny was who you wanted to be with in the long run.
His vision of you walking down the isle in that snatched, sexy little dress was shattered… for a mere moment he became overwhelmed with sadness. Wha— what do you mean that you’re not sure you want to marry him? Who else would you marry in place of him? You’ve been planning to leave him, haven’t you?..
Quickly that sorrow turned to anger and a side of Johnny you’ve never seen came out to bite.
His eyes were narrow and sinister as he peered down at you, over his expensive sunglasses. His voice was low yet venomously brash.
“Sweetheart—“
“You don’t get to play silly little games like this and get my hopes up for nothing. We’re getting married, there’s no other option better than me. And if you think for a second that you’re going to leave me—heh—-I’ll make your life agonizing.”
Oh..
It wasn’t long after, that he held you down and shoved a ring on your finger…ahem romantically proposed and you were eloped with an insane contractual agreement.
Poor thing…use critical judgment next time you’re out shopping.
Kung lao
You were out at the markets getting some groceries and household items. Normally Kung Lao would accompany you, but after much negotiation, he decided to let you go out alone. He was well familiar with the shopkeepers and locals so there wasn’t much to worry about. And he didn’t fear you being hit on there as everyone in the town knew who you belonged to. Any man who was stupid enough to talk to you was a man who was certainly going to die.
Of course like any woman, after your necessities were brought, you decided to do a bit of window shopping of vendors that were in the area.
Nothing new or interesting caught your attention until an older woman pulled you into her store to show you her selection of dresses. They were all so gorgeously designed and hand crafted, they must’ve taken ages to make.
“I have something very special for you. I think this will make that man of yours very pleased.”
After searching through a few boxes, she found the one she was looking for and displayed it for you. The dress was a striking red with gold embellishments and pleats that were colorfully embroidered.
It was so well done that it almost appeared painted on. It’d kill you to have that dress, even trying it on would be a dream in itself. But sadly, you knew that anything at this level had to be exorbitant in price. There’s no way that you could afford, let alone justify paying for it.
Thanking the shop keeper and complimenting the dress, you shook your head and declined. Explaining to her that this purchase would make you struggle for a couple of months.
The old lady wouldn’t take no for an answer and pushed the box towards you.
“My dear, this one was made for you. I must let you have it, don’t worry about payment. Just make sure I get to see you in it.”
Shocked, you asked a couple of times if she was serious and she was very adamant about you taking it home with you. She winked at you and sent you on your way.
Excited, you rushed home and into your room. Entirely running past your boyfriend in the process to hurried try the dress on.
It was exactly your size. It was almost as if if was made exactly to your measurements. You spun around in the mirror a million times so happy to be able to own something so luxurious.
“Y/N? What’s going on in there?? Are you okay? You didn’t even greet me when you came in.”
Opening the bedroom door you surprised him with the dress.
“Can you believe it, Kung Lao? Some lady at the market gifted this to me. She said it was made for me and insisted that I take it home.”
Yeah…ummm
That “random” lady wasn’t so random. He’d been planning this moment for over a year. He took out half of his savings to purchase it and have it custom built for you. All of your favorite colors and style preferences were put into this. He told the lady that whenever she was finished with it, to give it to you the next time that she sees you.
It was a surprise seeing you in the dress though. He knew you’d look beautiful but not this damn good. All of the details brought out the best in yourself. It wasn’t form fitting as it was a traditional xiuhuefu but it still such a perfect fit on you. He was proud that did exceptionally well in designing this for you.
Acting dumb, he asked many questions like who the lady was and was you sure it was truly for free. So manipulative…
“I guess this is a sign of fate…that we are destined to be married soon.”
Ummmm….what?
You laughed and explained how it was just a traditional dress that you plan to wear at a festival or something. What was he talking about marriage? It’s just a pretty dress right??….right?
Girl—-
He explained that no, it was actually a traditional dress only worn by brides. —And that since you was not only “gifted” it, but that it fit you well must mean that you’re ready to be his bride.
“Oh…no…I had no idea, Lao. I just like the dress, I don’t wanna be married to you.”
Let me take a sip of my drink😪
Immediately his face scrunched up in anger and he backed you into the wall.
“You don’t wanna be married to me?! Don’t you know how much money I spent on this dress? Do you know how many hours that poor old lady spent on this, customizing everything for you? I even tried to make the experience receiving the dress special. And you don’t want to marry me?”
He harshly grabbed your chin and pulled your face closer to his
“You don’t get a choice in this, my precious flower. Any other girl would kill to even be noticed by the great Kung Lao..don’t be such a fool and make this difficult.”
Yeah..we’ll at least your wedding was absolutely massive and filled with tons of yummy foods.
Erron Black
(Yes I know Erron’s mom was crappy but for plot purposes please let’s pretend he lovvveeeed her okay.)
Erron had left you back at home while he took care of some business and agreed to let you go through the attic. It was very very old and cluttered and he couldn’t care less about what you did with most of the stuff. He hasn’t seen most of it since he was a much younger fella anyways.
He told you there might be a few old clothes that were his mothers and sisters and you were free to take anything you’d like. You're about their size anyhow and he’d rather them on you than to be rotting in a box any longer.
You made your way through tons of old nicnacks and relics, it took a few hours of searching to find any of his old childhood things since they were in the faaaar back.
Eventually you found a hefty box that read women’s name on it and brought it back downstairs.
Hats, blouses, skirts and accessories were all in there. Not much that you’d wear since they were all a little dated and too mature for you—but there was one thing that caught your eyes. Something wrapped in dainty floral wrapping paper and tied with a pretty bow.
……Erron did give you permission to open whatever you’d like so I’m sure this wouldn’t hurt him.
Upon carefully unwrapping the delicately wrapped piece, the most gorgeous vintage wedding dress was revealed. Yes it was rather dated like most of the clothes with big puffy sleeves and a high neckline for modesty. Kind of gaudy as well but still an eye catching design nonetheless.
You held it up to your body and it looked like it'd be a perfect fit. This isn’t too surprising, but it fit you rather well. You looked straight out of the 19th century but it was cute, you put your hair up really nice and added some of the accessories from the box to complete the look.
You strutted around the house and pretended to be some snobby rich woman on her wedding day.
“Why yes. The orderves were made by Frederic, the renowned chef and the silk table cloths were imported from across the seas….hohoho.”
In the middle of your play time, Erron walked in and saw you in the dress. He paused and observed you up and down. It seemed as though he was a bit upset by the sight of you.
Maybe it was the wrong choice to put on this dress of all things. This was probably the one thing that was unspokenly off limits.
You quickly try to deescalate the situation and explain yourself. That you just thought the dress was pretty and you wanted to fool around in it. That you didn’t think much of it or that he’d be home so soon.
“I’m not mad, y/n. For a second I got a glimpse of my ma again. This dress is perfect on you.”
You twirled around in place and asked him if he truly thought so.
“I’m as honest as I’d ever be right now. What do you say we go down to the chapel right now?”
Thinking he wasn’t being serious, you laughed and began to take the dress off
“You’re not the marrying type, Erron.”
His demeanor turned from a sentimental bliss to a pissed off cowboy in seconds.
What did you mean he’s not the marrying type? He ain’t no saint but he’s been good to you and planned on being so for a long while.
“What did you mean by that, darlin?”
He stared straight and menacingly at you with his drawing hand on his holster. Your next words better be catious.
“N-nothing. Just figured you weren’t into the marriage thing because neither am I. That’s all.”
That’s all? You think you can just wear his deceased mothers wedding gown without any plans of commitment.
He suddenly pulled out his pistol out of his holster causing you to flinch. He didn’t point it at you but he inspected it before putting in a cartridge that was stored on his other hip.
“Dear, I know I ain’t no romantic but if you think for a second I’d let you walk out of this relationship alive…you must be one dumb broad.”
A chilling smile plastered his face as he pointed it towards you
“So what do ya say? You going to come down to the chapel with me or go have tea with the queen in purgatory? …your choice.”
Of course you had to say yes. That proposal was so…romantic? Hey, at least the priest down at the old chapel prayed over your soul and gave you a cross if you so ever shall need it dealing with a devil like him.

Note
Hcs for Itadori x reader, who distances themselves from him and avoids him, because they have feelings for him and are scared, because they don't know how to behave around him and are scared of rejection please?
Itadori is the best person you know. He’s kind and empathetic, always willing to listen to others, and has this endearing positivity about most things. He may not be the brightest person but he’s quick to learn when given the chance. He’s also strong and handsome.
Likewise, people could list positives about you; but in this situation, when you think about what you have to offer in return, all the positives you’ve heard, you still can’t see what is so special about you that someone like him would accept your feelings. You feel inadequate.
You’re don't think you're pin-up model pretty like his posters, Itadori likes tall girls with big asses, he claims, and there’s nothing about his behavior that would insinuate that he likes your personality more than the rest of your friends.
You can’t take another day without telling him, feeling the need to scream out that you like the boy every time he gets too close, touches your arm too readily, calls out your name to back him up in whatever dumb arguments he would have with Kugisaki, or save you a seat right next to him.
You’re terrified that you might accidentally let it slip, and he’d reject you because there isn’t a good enough reason for him to like you as much as you like him. And if your words didn’t make him realize it then your actions would give it away eventually.
Fortunately, Itadori isn’t very perceptive when it comes to romantic feelings towards himself. What he can notice is when one of his friends seems troubled, and he can notice even more that he hasn’t been seeing you around as much lately.
He notices things like you don’t sit next to him anymore at meals, you don’t seem to want to hang out together as much (and when you do you always ask if the others coming too), or when he’s reading a good manga and wants to show you a panel you’re not there.
Itadori thinks he’s done something wrong to make you angry at him, and the guilt of not even knowing what he did wrong starts to preoccupy his mind. Maybe he took one too many snacks out your “secret” snack drawer (shit, did I forget to replace it?) or maybe you didn’t like the way he’d play with and squish your plushies when he’d hang out in your room (they never complained about it so how was I supposed to know!), or maybe you didn’t like his humor (But you laughed at his jokes a lot. But what if it was those awkward uncomfortable laughs and he didn’t notice!)
Itadori is pulling out his hair trying to figure it out. He considers you one of his best friends, and it’d be awkward to be classmates and work together if you hated him.
He gets all desperate about it, annoying Fushiguro and Kugisaki to help him figure out what he did so he can apologize already because every time he tries to ask you swear you’re not mad at him!
He wants to make up already and go back to arguing about stupid things instead, like whether purple or pink hair would suit you the best. He becomes hyper-aware of the pinch in his heart when he thinks about the two of you possibly matching and now you keep avoiding him.
Either Fushiguro or Kugisaki is going to try to force you to talk to him because the tension is getting annoying and a bit sad with how pouty Itadori gets and to tell him that you have a crush on him already. That you’re already pushing him away and losing him by hurting his feelings.
Before you can, Itadori is already onto his next move, buying anything to make up for what he thinks he did wrong: new snacks; new plushies; new novelty socks from when you loaned him a pair and they got ripped up during a mission; that hoodie of his you’re always complimenting? Yours, you can have it. He doesn’t even like hoodies anyway!
He’s going to show up at your dorm door, apologizing. He doesn’t know exactly what he did so he is going to simply apologize for everything. He really hates fighting with you because he really likes you, and it’s killing him not to have you like him, too.
You end up having to apologize to him and explain that you’re scared to be around him because you have feelings for him and didn’t want to be rejected, that you want to be friends with him even if he doesn’t have those feelings back for you, and you were afraid to lose him as a friend.
It takes him a minute to process everything you said. He’s trying to think of a world where he could ever reject you. You’re so pretty and talented and smart, and you did nothing but occupy his mind over the last couple of weeks and even before then he’d think about you a lot. You’re dazzling.
He explains all that to you so sincerely, with the smallest hint of shy embarrassment as he puts the words together, that it makes you feel stupid for even thinking he’d reject you and not realizing that he could hold the world with the amount of feelings he has for you.
Of course, you accept.
Itadori laughs and shuffles all the items he got for you: he guesses this means he prepared the s/o hoodie too early?

Enjoy <3
You wake to the sound of a door slamming. Your head is spinning as you look round the room. There’s a throbbing in the back of you head. You look up seeing Jack walking over to you.
“What didn’t get enough in Syria?” You ask as he stops at your feet. You’re nervous you don’t know what to say, you just hope they’re on their way. Jack isn’t saying anything. You feel sick with the throbbing in your head.
“Don’t flatter yourself I don’t care about you just your boyfriends.” He says walking over to a table. You can make out a bunch of equipment, weapons, knives, ammo. You look round the rest of the room. The curtains have all been drawn closed, you can’t tell if the sun is up or not. There are no clocks, you can’t hear anything to indicate where you are. Maybe it’s just your head spinning but it’s not helping you place the ambience.
“What is your obsession with them?” You ask. He stays silent as he picks a knife off the table. You sigh, there is no way he’s going to do anything. You really try hard to believe it, although he seems very much unhinged. You need to make a plan in your head if Simon and Johnny are not coming. Dying is not an option, or alt least you hope not, if he killed you he won’t be able to get intel from you. Maybe he doesn’t want to kill you, this seems like a different play.
“I’m not obsessed, I just want to provide for my family.” He says, he sounds somewhat defeated. Maybe what was supposed to have happened hasn't happened yet. Or maybe he’s trying to buy time and lower your defences.
“Susan is your wife right, Chloe’s older sister? I know you have a kid with her, I met her she’s cute.” You say, watching him as his fingers run over the blade of the knife. The door to the room opening pulls your attention away. It’s Mark. Fucking Mark. Jack turns his attention away from you looking over at him.
You can see a phone in his hands. Jack nods, he walks towards you bringing the knife up to your face. He looks at you for a second before slashing your cheek. It burns like a hot rod has just been pressed up against your face. Your arms pop uncomfortably as your body tries to force them to your face but they’re tightly bound behind your back. You swear as your face heats up blood dripping down your cheek. It must be a deep cut since Jack also looks slightly concerned for a moment.
“Get the phone ready.” Jack says. You look over at Mark as he fumbles with the phone in his hands, it’s your phone you recognise the case. Mark moves it in his hands so its horizontal.
“Try to look sad for the camera.” Jack says as he moves round behind you. He grips your hair so you’re face is straight looking towards Mark.
“We want to make a trade. Every single piece of intel you have as well as the guarantee you will leave us alone. Then we promise to return this one to you and we won’t hurt another hair on her pretty little head.” Jack says as his confidence seems to grow. That’s what you’re here for, you’re a bargaining chip. You’re pretty much worthless. Maybe you still have chance to appeal to their humanity. If there is anything left.
“You sound like a shitty terrorist organisation.” You say scoffing. Jack huffs as he presses the knife into your neck, gripping your hair tighter. It sends a shooting pain down your body, you can still feel blood pooling down your cheek and neck.
“You have one hour to respond to the attached number or we kill her.” Jack says. Your stomach drops. You don’t want to die but you hold it together keeping your expression at least neutral. Jack lets go of your hair walking over to Mike. Mike leans in and you hear them re-watching the video. They really do sound like amateurs.
“Send it with the number.” Jack says. “As soon as it’s sent turn the phone back off.” You look over at Mike and Jack. You hang your head your cheek still burning, a shiver runs through you as the adrenaline wears off. You feel sick again thinking back to the safehouse. Maybe you should have fought.
  ——————————
The text comes through on Johnny and Simon’s phone. It’s a video, a video of you with Jack stood behind you pressing a knife into the side of your throat. Ghost looks over at Soap, his eyes are hard as he presses play on the video.
There is no audio from his phone but Ghost can tell it’s upsetting him. Soap looks up at him. It’s okay, keep it together. Is what Ghost wants to tell Soap, but he cant. He looks back down at his phone.
“What is it?” Price asks walking into the room. Ghost sighs handing his phone to Price. He plays the video, Gaz looks over Price’s shoulder as Jack’s voice fills the room. Ghost watches Soap tense when your voice comes through the phone speakers. Johnny has already tried to call you but the phone must be off again since the call doesn’t go through. It was too quick to trace they weren't prepared.
“Hang on a second, that number is one of the burner phones.” Price says walking away from the table over to a case, he pulls it open and sure enough there is a phone missing.
“We can trace that, it has an additional tracker in it, it doesn’t matter if the phone is off.” Ghost wants to smile, but he keeps his eyes on Soap as Gaz comes over with a laptop. Price stands next to him showing him were to look. No one says anything as Ghost finds himself holding his breath.
“Harrow.” Gaz says as Price stands up straight.
“Where’s that?” Soap asks.
“West, it’ll take us at least 40 minutes to get out there. That’s assuming she's in the same place as the burner phone.” Gaz says.
“How accurate is the tracker?” Ghost asks.
“Very.” Price replies. “Do they have any houses in that area? Any property they own or even have their names attached to?”
“I can check it could take a while though.” Gaz says.
“Okay lets move we’ll drive out there, you can search on the way.” Price says. Everyone nods as he goes back over to the kit to grab the rest of the burner phones. Soap does not wait rushing out towards the garage. Ghost catches up to him pulling him in and locking the door behind him.
“Look at me.” Simon demands, pulling Johnny’s chin. Johnny fights him so Simon has to resort to gripping his hair. He uses his free hand to pull his mask up and over his head while he presses himself up against Johnny pinning him to the wall.
“Look at me.” Simon demands again following Johnny’s eyeline. Johnny is still fighting under Simon’s grasp. He presses his lips up to Johnny, he’s tense, he won’t kiss Simon back at first, eventually he relents. Johnny lets out a sigh as drops his shoulders and opens his mouth letting Simon in, he loosens his grip on Johnny. Simon breaks away looking in his husbands eyes, he’s never seen him like this before. Scared, angry, like he has nothing to lose.
“We’re going to get her Johnny, look at me.” Simon says, still gripping his hair.
“We’re going to get her and bring her home safe.”
“You don’t know that,” Johnny whispers barely audible, as he hangs his head. Simon sighs, he knows Johnny could be right, they don’t have control over the situation.
“We’ll find her, and we’ll bring her home. But I need you to focus Soap. We need to, we’re no use to her if we can’t focus.” Simon says kissing him again on the forehead.
Johnny looks up at him and nods, the fear washed off his face and replaced with anger, determination. Simon lets out a small sigh, that’s the Johnny he wants to see. There is a knock on the door behind Johnny. Simon pulls his mask back down moving away to open the door.
“Ready?” Price asks with Gaz stood behind him.

——————————
“It’s been almost an hour and we’ve heard nothing.” You hear Jack say, he sounds angry. You face is stinging, they didn’t treat the wound but the bleeding seems to of slowed. All you can feel is the numbness in your feet and hands from the zipties and the pain in your cheek. You’re trying to listen to their conversation. Most of the time you can’t hear it. It’s only when Jack or Mark raise their voices you get snippets.
You look up at them. Jack looks nervous, Mark more put together, both stood with their arms crossed across the room. Jack’s been tapping his foot, or when he’s sat down you watch his leg bounce. Maybe he is worried about having to kill you.
This is starting to feel too familiar. At least in Syria the sleep deprivation was so bad you were basically in an asleep semi-conscious haze. At least after a few hours you got used to the routine, knew what to expect. At least Simon and Johnny were there. You swallow the lump the pit forming back in your stomach. You had no idea what Jack might do to you, you just have to stay strong. Do not give him the satisfaction of seeing you upset or panic.
“Maybe you’re wrong.” Mark says. You don’t hear Jacks response but they both stand back up coming towards you. Mark is taking your phone out again. Great time for another video.
“Shame you don’t have the budget for a makeup department.” You say as Jack grips your head again painfully pulling your head up. The knife is back at your throat only this time instead of the tip being pressed into the side of your neck the blade is resting across the front.
You shiver as the cold metal presses into your neck enough that if you were to move you would get cut. You swallow hard, the jolting of your head has opened your cheek wound again as you feel blood trickling down your face. You watch as Mark nods at Jack holding the phone in-front of you.
“Almost an hour, your clock is ticking.” Jack says. You feel the knife moved from your neck as it making it’s way to the wound on your face. He presses it in and you have to grit your teeth to stop a pained yelp escaping your body. You’re holding your breath as heat rushes to your face, the knife disturbing the wound enough it’s bleeding profusely again.
“I said I wouldn’t hurt another hair on her head but I’m getting impatient!” Jack snaps, his confidence seems to be growing even if he doesn’t show it when the camera is off.
“Contact the number to arrange a swap, you have an extra half hour before I start cutting pieces off.” He spits. Mark puts the camera down and Jack releces your head going over to watch it. You hear the playback as they nod at each other.
He’s gone from killing you to cutting pieces off. You start going round your body in your head. Which parts you think you’ll miss the least. Maybe your ears, toes, you want to keep your fingers. You can’t be a nurse without functioning hands.

 ——————————
Another video another threat. A new time, he’s given them an extra half an hour.
“Take a left up here.” Gaz says he’s in the front with Price leading the way to the burner phones ping. It almost looks like they’re being driven into an industrial estate. It’s dark bar a few warehouses with 24/7 service.
“Keep going it’s through that gate 500 meters.” Gaz says pointing at the only open gate on the road leading into what looks like a van rental place.
“What is this place?” Price asks.
“The Masons own it, it’s a van rental, since 2020.” Soap says looking up from his laptop. There is one car in the whole parking lot Price drives up and parks behind it. There is one of those one story prefab buildings which looks like the main office, assuming there is someone here the likely hood is they’re in that building. Price kills the engine, and everyone gets out. Soap opens the boot as we grab our weapons.
Price doesn’t need to say anything, it’s automatic. He leads with Soap and Gaz following while Ghost takes the rear. There doesn’t seem to be any lights on in the building but the windows also look boarded up. Price makes it to the door Soap takes the other side and Ghost moves into position to kick it down. Price nods at Ghost who takes a breath the kicks the door right by the handle.
It swings open and light floods out. Price, Gaz and Soap all pile into the tiny building, Ghost hears shouting as Price pushes a man to the floor. Ghost closes the door behind him as he enters quickly checking the other end of the building. It’s small just a waiting area, a toilet and a few desks. The rest of the place is clear and Ghost comes back to Price helping the man up to his feet.
“Let’s have a chat.” Price asks, forcing him to sit down in a chair, his hands ziptied to his back. Gaz goes over to help Price secure his feet while Soap and Ghost keep their weapons trained on him. The man shakes his head.
“Harry.” Soap says. “I recognise him from the funereal one of Chloe’s brothers.”
“Okay, Harry you know what we want and if you give us what we want we won’t kill you how does that sound for a deal?” Price says stepping in-front of him.
“Go to hell! You might as well kill me, if Jack finds out I’ve snitched I’ll be dead anyway!” Harry shouts. Price sighs looking over at Ghost for a few seconds. This was going to get messy.
“Let’s try that again. Where is she?” Price asks getting up in his face. Harry doesn’t say anything, Ghost goes to take a step forward as Price moves out the way but Soap beats him too it. Before anyone can say anything Soap thrusts a knife in Harry’s thigh. He screams thrashing in the chair as Soap goes back to stand next to Ghost, Price looks at him approvingly before going back over to Harry.
“Tell us where they’re hiding!” Price shouts, over Harry’s moans and whimpers. Ghost can see tears running down his cheeks. Soap missed his femoral artery, he would have bled out by now and they would have nothing. Ghost looked over at Soap his expression hard, he has barely said a word since they left the house. Harry has stopped screaming as Price holds his head up barking more questions at him. Ghost knows they can’t wait too long, this interrogation needs to give them something to work with.
“Harrow.” Harry says through a sob. “There’s a house in Harrow that’s where she is.” Price picks up the burner phone from the floor.
“Let’s go.” Price says. Heading for the door.
“What about me!” Harry calls. Price doesn’t say anything as Gaz follows him out Soap is still staring at Harry.
“Let’s go Soap.” Ghost says lacing his voice with authority so he’ll listen. He watches him turn away and wait’s until Soap is out the door on Gaz’s heals before Ghost turns off the lights and closes the door behind him.
 ——————————
You’re alone in the room now. Jack and Mark both stepped out awhile ago. It feels like it’s been forever when you have no concept of time and your body is in pain. You’ve tried pulling at your restraint’s even played with the idea of breaking your thumb to try and get out.
You have no idea if it would work though of if it was one of those stupid movie tropes. Besides these bindings are tight, the lack of circulation to your hands and feet has you a little concerned. The gash on your cheek which had been reopened with a knife so you're basically guaranteed to get an infection.
You’re still triaging your body when Mark and Jack burst into the room. They’re carrying weapons. Something must have happened or maybe your time is up.
“What about Brian!?” Mark asks. Jack doesn’t say anything. Who the fuck is Brain?
“Get in the corner.” Jack orders as he comes over to you. You feel the barrel of a gun pressed up against the back of your head. Jack seems to change his mind though pulling out his pistol pressing it to your temple. You hear shots, they sound distant but close at the same time. This house must be massive, you don’t know which house you’re in it’s one you’ve never been to.
Your heart picks up, they’re here. This is going to be the final stand off, this could be the end. At least he’ll shoot you. It will be quick. Mark ducks in the far right corner of the room. The door swings inwards, they won’t see him right away. There are voices now, you think you hear Johnny, you almost want to call out to him, but you bite your tongue.
Jack is using your body to shield him, you’re almost shaking as you hear the voices get closer and closer. Before you have time to think about how you can help the the door swings open. Price walks in first, then Johnny, then Gaz then Simon.
Jack grips your hair pressing the barrel of the gun harder into your temple. You let out a sigh, you don’t know if it’s relief or not but they're here. Before you can warn them Mark is already out the corner, they’re surrounded. But there are only 2 of them. Simon and Gaz spin round to train their weapons on Mark while Price and Johnny have their weapons held up at you. Or more the man behind you pulling your hair so tight you think he might rip it off.
“Let her go Jack it doesn’t have to end this way.” Price says. “You can still walk out here alive no one has to die.”
“All I wanted was for you to leave us alone.” Jack says scoffing. “You caused this, you all caused this.” You want Johnny to look at you his expression is twisted into something you’ve never seen before, anger, he looks so angry it makes you feel sick. You watch Simon’s back, his foot moves to touch Johnny so their heel to heel.
“You got yourself involved in a whole world of bother.” Price says. “Thats not our fault.”
“It is!” Jack snaps pulling your head back sharply, you hear it click.
“All I want is to provide for my family. What do you not understand about that! Why can’t you just leave us alone!” His voice cracks at the end of the sentence. He’s becoming unhinged, he could shoot you at any point and be over with it.
“You can’t provide for you’re family if you’re dead. Let her go and we’ll let you both walk out of here.” Price says.
“I want all the intel you gathered.” Jack says. It’s a negotiation now. Price nods reaching into his vest and pulling out some keys. He holds them up clearly so Jack can see.
“There’s a car outside with everything we have.” Price shakes the keys. It’s almost like you can feel Jack thinking weighing up his options.
Then everything happens so fast, the keys are thrown in the air.
There is a shot, then another.
You feel a pain in the side of your head as Jacks grip leaves your hair.
You hear shouting and see Johnny running towards you. There’s a ringing in your ear as you feel blood running down the side of your head. Where you shot?
You watch as Johnny flicks open a knife cutting the zipties on your feet. You can’t hear what he’s saying the buzzing is still loud in your ears. He moves behind you as you see Simon get up from next to Marks body.
As your wrists are freed your hand goes up to the side of your head. You feel warm blood but it’s not your head that’s been hit, it’s your ear. The ringing subsides and you hear Jack moaning he’s not dead. Price comes over to you placing his hand on your shoulder while he looks you over. He reaches into a pouch on his vest pulling out some gauze.
“You okay?” You think he asks. You nod as he presses the gauze to your ear. You hold it for him feeling the blood quickly soak the bandage. You hear zipties and turn to see Johnny pulling them closed around Jack’s wrists. He’s laid on his back with Johnny’s knee on his legs, he’s been hit in the shoulder, you can see the blood pooling on the floor.
Price walks round to him as he hands you more gauze and you look over at Simon and Gaz. Simon walks over to you his hand resting on your shoulder for a second as he goes over to join Price. You breathe out a massive sigh of relief as Johnny bends down in front of you.
“You okay lass?” Johnny asks taking the gauze out your hand and patting your cheek wound, you wince as he presses but you try not to move. All you can do is nod still trying to process what just happened.
You hear Jack shouting, looking past Johnny you see Gaz standing off to the side of the door. Johnny stands up and smiles down at you his hand rubbing your good cheek. You smile back at him.
You’re about to get up when you hear another shot. You look over at Gaz turning around, another shot rings out. You see someone in the doorway fall to the floor.
You look back at Johnny. His expression has changed, there is fear in his eyes. You don’t have time to think as he falls to the floor.
“Johnny!” You scream pushing yourself off the chair, your legs give way under you as you fall to your knees next to him. You see the blood, he’s been hit. You’re already pulling his vest off when Gaz comes over.
“Watch the door!” You hear someone shout, you think it’s Price. Gaz stops in his tracks and heads back to the door. You pull Johnny’s shirt up. There are multiple wounds, you see the shrapnel stuck in the front of his vest.
He was shot from behind, this is a through and through.
The vest fractured the bullet, then stopped it from hitting you.
You feel sick. You look over at Gaz watching the door. Simon bends down on the other side of Johnny. You look up at him tears streaming down your face. You force yourself to focus. You can save him you have to save him.
“Give me your medical pouch!” You shout at Simon. He nods and hands it to you. You’re not thinking about what’s going on around you. You’re pulling on gloves watching the colour drain from Johnny’s face. You hear Price talking, Simon get’s to his feet, there’s radio noises, a dial tone. You press gauze into Johnny’s wounds. You can still hear Jack shouting.
“You’re not dying Johnny not today!” You shout letting the adrenaline pulse through your body your own pain forgotten about. You just need to get this bleeding under control.
You’re not dying Johnny not today…

secret santa (jack hughes)
day 17 of star’s ficmas
jack hughes x reader
Tumblr media
Jack Hughes tolerated you. He didn’t like you, he didn’t hate you, he tolerated you. You worked in the Devils organization, working as an analyst behind the scenes, meaning you were always around. You’d be in your office, analyzing the game from the night before or practice.
You weren’t exactly sure why Jack didn’t like you. Maybe you made too many suggestions to his game or got him in trouble which forced him to work on faceoffs more. You got along pretty well with everyone else, why not him?
The Secret Santa Tradition was always fun, you looked forward to it every year. You’d appreciate any gift really, no matter how big or small it was. You had pulled Jack. You were excited, hoping this was the chance for Jack to like you. You had given him the gift early, leaving it in his stall, half of the items on his list were bought. But, now it was the last day of the Secret Santa and you tried not to be sad that you hadn’t received your gift.
Jack had drawn your name. He was hoping for one of the other boys, but he got you. He knew who you were. Jack walked by your office every day, seeing you hunched over your laptop, sometimes he’d see you by the bench, or in team meetings. You were smart and he knew it. He actually thought you were really smart and pretty, but he had made a bad impression on you.
He didn’t know what to get you, staring your list of items you suggested, looking at what you like. He wished he didn’t participate. He saw your office decorated for Christmas and could just assume you liked the holiday. Jack picked the smallest item from the list.
The present was thrown into a gift bag and left on your desk. You saw your coworkers getting big gifts and nice things, and the keychain you asked for stared back at you. You blamed yourself for even putting the item on the list but you didn’t want to seem like you were expecting a big gift.
“Dude, my Secret Santa got me this nice blanket,” Erik said. “I got mine a keychain.”
Jack suddenly had the whole locker room staring at him. “You got them just a keychain?” Dawson asked. “It was on their list!”
“Who’d you even gift?” John asked. “(Y/N).”
“You’re a dick,” Nico scoffed. Jack’s eyebrows furrowed together. “What did I do?” Jack questioned. “What did your Secret Santa get you?” Luke asked him. “Like four things off my list…”
At the end of the day, you shoved your stuff into your bag. It was hard to not be upset over the small keychain you were given. But you had tried so hard to be in the holiday spirit, buying everyone hot chocolate, decorating your office, offering to do extra work so other people could spend time with their families. And you got a keychain.
You began the walk to your car, when you were stopped by Jack. “Hey, (Y/N), you got a second?” Jack was just going to apologize, make amends. “I was your Secret Santa, and it was a bad gift I guess,” Jack confessed. The guys had all convinced him to apologize. “It’s fine Jack. I put the keychain on the list, I didn’t want anyone to be forced to buy me something special, I appreciate it,” you blurted. Jack frowned, “I’m sorry.”
You shrugged. “I just,” you sucked in a breath, “I don’t know if I did something to upset you or anything, I put the keychain on my list, I got what I asked for I guess.” Jack felt bad.
“I gotta go Jack. By the way, I hope you liked all your gifts. Surprise, I was your Secret Santa,” you sighed before walking away.
Jack felt like a dick. He remembered how excited he was for getting his own gift, knowing how much his teammates spent on the gift game, he was an absolute jerk. You deserved more than that.
The next day, your office was empty and Jack had brought a bunch of gifts and left them on your desk. The day after that, you were out again. He was thinking it was because of him until you walked in on the third day. Jack finally didn’t have to throw away the extra coffee he bought. “(Y/N), here,” he greeted. “What’s this for?” you whispered. “I’m trying to make it up to you?”
“It’s fine, it was just Secret Santa. Your gift to me is useful, I haven't lost my keys in two days,” you joked. You went to open your office door. Your eyes landed on all the presents. “Jack, I didn’t need these. I’m okay.”
“A date then. To make it up.”
You looked at him, “Really? A date, just to make it up?”
“I don’t hate you, I just don’t know how to act around you. I want to impress you. I’m sorry. Just one date, a Christmas present?”

Logan has been your best friend since you were in elementary school, and even when he moved away to further his career, you stayed close friends. Logan even sublets a bedroom in your Miami apartment so he stay with you when he’s in town.
It was obvious how much Logan cares for his friends, and maybe that’s why you couldn’t stop yourself from falling in love with your kindhearted friend. Oscar always said that the two of them needed you to be social for them, and that they should hire you to be their social media managers. You always refused, asking what an accountant would know about that.
It’s the off season now, and Logan is back home. The cozy apartment feels more like a home now, and the navy blue throw pillows don’t bring down the vibes as much anymore. You are on the phone with Oscar and Lily when you hear the front door open and close, two people stumbling in.
“You need to tell him, you are only hurting yourself,” Oscar says, reading your body language, watching the way that the blue LEDs in your bedroom reflect the sadness in your eyes.
“I’m okay, I have a date tomorrow,” you plaster a smile on your face. Lily doesn’t buy it, and neither does Oscar, but they play along.
“Keep us updated, that’s so exciting,” she says, hoping to take your mind off of what’s happening across the hall.
“Good night?” you ask Logan when he emerges from his room the next morning. The hurt in your heart pushes through the freeze that creeps in, a lingering hurt from one drunken night years ago.
“Did I wake you up? Sorry,” Logan runs his hand through his hair, you look away because despite him being your best friend you just can’t bear to see him. Despite everything, you can’t help stop the growing ice over your heart towards him.
It’s like every day you realize how much you have changed yourself for him, only for him to not care. He’s too addicted to the drug that is his current lifestyle to care about his best friend. The past ten years have been like this, and in your mind it was time to put yourself first.
Logan doesn’t notice your red dress, with your hair and makeup done perfectly, and if he did he never said. He did see you out on your date by accident though. He stops on the sidewalk, staring at you through the window. He calls Oscar on reflex, holding the phone to his ear without looking away from you.
“Osc, Y/n is on a date,” Logan says, processing what he is feeling.
“A likely place for her to be. She has a life outside of you, just because we are your best friends doesn’t mean she needs to dedicate every second to you like she has in the past,” Oscar replies, a little tired of Logan basically ignoring you.
“That’s not true,” Logan protests, but the hurt he’s feeling says otherwise.
“She’s changed so much for you. She wanted to move to Canada, but stayed for you. She’s defended you online against people who still say you don’t deserve to drive, hell, she’s stopped dating a guy because you were coming home. You have this idea of her that just isn’t true anymore,” Oscar rants, every word like a punch to the gut. Logan will always need his best friend, but he is realizing the truth behind Oscar’s words.
“This guy looks like he would’ve bullied us in school,” Logan watches as you laugh at something the guy says, and as much as he hates to admit it, you look happier than you have since he’s gotten home. Said guy is tall, taller than him, with the body of a gym bro but polished enough that he seems well educated.
“Good for her, she deserves to be happy, I’ll have to call her tomorrow and ask about it. Lily will want to know too,” Oscar’s tone changes, clearly happy to move away from being a middle man.
“You knew?” Logan asks, wondering why you didn’t say anything.
“Have you thought to ask? You live with her. Surely you noticed she was dressed up,” Oscar questions. Logan just watches you with someone else, not understanding why his heart hurts.
Logan thinks back to every time you changed, it was always related to something he said, and when it raised concerns in his mind, he simply brushed it off, not until you started being cold. You would’ve stopped, you wouldn’t have started to push him away if he said he loved you the way that you were, even as a friend.
Logan can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be the guy sitting across from you, your coldness broken away. Little did he know that the thought would shatter you if you knew, like ice breaking into millions of pieces.
Logan looks away, noticing you have that look in your eye, the same one from your belated 21st birthday. Sighing as he walks down the street, he plays back that night, traveling through the passages in his mind to find the memory.
You had drunkenly stumbled into him, impaired by the copious amounts of alcohol and newfound freedom. The next the both of you knew, you were in his bed, wrapped up in one another. Logan called it a mistake and you moved on, not wanting to dwell on it, lest you get hurt.
Logan goes back to your apartment, waiting for you to get home. He doesn’t know why he hates the idea of you being out with another guy, maybe it’s because you are his friend. He perks up at the sound of the front door opening, watching you walk in with a cheerful glint in your eye. He lets out a deep sigh before plastering on a smile.
“How was the date?” Logan asks as you sit on the couch across from him.
“I didn’t realize you noticed,” you warily say, confused why he is asking.
“I saw you at the restaurant you were at and Oscar told me,” Logan says slightly accusingly and you can’t help but shake an irritated feeling.
“Well, maybe if you cared more about my life and not just me as your socials manager, than you would’ve known,” you defend yourself. Logan feels a bit like a kicked puppy, especially since your words are true. “I’m going to bed, we can talk about it tomorrow,” you turn away, heading to your room.
The next morning comes faster than you’d like. Logan wakes early to get coffee and pastries, hoping to ease the tension.
“I can’t be your social media manager anymore. I need to do what I am really good at, and what I spent my time getting a degree in,” you say a little abruptly during the conversation.
“But I need you on race weekends,” Logan says, a bit crushed.
“Oscar hired me as his personal accountant, so I could still come to races, but it lets me spread my wings and start my own business,” you tell him, sipping your coffee.
“Let me hire you then too,” Logan offers and you quickly shoot him down.
“No, you struggle to separate me as a friend and me as an employee. We need to fix our friendship first,” you double down.
“I don’t understand, is everything okay?” Logan asks, his concern feels like a stab in the heart.
“I- I just need some space to focus on me. I love you, Lo, you are my best friend, but I can’t be your friend like that and also your employee. It doesn’t work well for us,” you say, lying about why. You just can’t stand to watch him take a new girl home every race weekend, and you need to crush your crush. You can’t keep wondering what would happen if he chose you.
So you do just that, in the next few months you sell your Miami apartment and move to a small beach town in New England. You and Logan are still close, but everything is different now.
Aside from the occasional paddock appearance with him or Oscar, you focused on yourself. You stood at his side while he married an influencer, you helped babysit when he had kids. You floated in his orbit, a close friend but no longer his best friend. Logan and Oscar stood by your side when you got married to the same guy you went on the date with before you left Miami.
The only thing that would’ve stopped you from getting married would be Logan’s intervention. He would object, saying he always loved you, and that he will always wonder what would have happened if you had dated. Little did you know, that the only thing stopping him from doing just that was the gold band on his ring finger and the kids sitting beside his wife.
Even now, as you lay in bed beside your husband, you can’t help but wonder what if.

𐙚 be my angel
“they say it's me, that makes you do things you might not have done”
Tumblr media
megumi x reader • birthday fic
word count: 1,141
Tumblr media
Unboxing the small cake from the cardboard box that had held it, you carefully slid it out, turning it by the edges of plate. You smiled at the final result of the order you had placed last week, dark chocolate cake with the least sweet option of frosting the bakery offered, the baker really out did themselves. The next step was to unbox the candles, the white 2’s with a dark blue outline, and carefully placing them on the cake, making sure the words ‘happy birthday megumi’ spelt in navy blue jelly didn’t get messed up.
Today was your boyfriend’s 22nd birthday, and coincidentally just so happened to be your first year anniversary. It was hard to believe an entire year had already passed by since the night you accidentally confessed to him at the ‘surprise’ birthday party Yuji had thrown for him.
That night Megumi had already known about his best friend’s scheme, and it honestly crossed his mind to avoid it. But at the end of the day, it was you who convinced him to attend. It was always you to drag him along anywhere and everywhere.
When you first met him, could compare Megumi to the personification of melancholy. You know your love hasn’t had an easy life, which you assumed is why you almost always saw him thinking off into space, refreshing his mind of happy memories, yet what seemed to be a sad longing. That was just the way he was. You would learn he didn’t find joy or interest in much materialistic things, instead he’d seek comfort and reassurance in actions and words. And slowly, you introduced him to the idea of touch as a love language.
Experiencing something new and so nice in the present, maybe helped him move forward from the past.
People often considered you the most affectionate in the relationship, you’d hear teasing comments come from his friends, Yuji or Nobara, about how it was always you to initiate anything between you guys. It was always you who forced him to be included. The thought that maybe you loved him more than he did you had crossed your mind before.
But you knew that wasn’t true. Because Megumi Fushiguro wasn’t the type to love empty. He would do acts of service, he would repay people he felt he owed, even when he didn’t. In his mind, if someone was injured or hurt due to something he could’ve prevented, even when he had no responsibility too, he owed them.
Yet one thing he’d never do, is give his heart as a form of payment. And so you thanked whatever religion out there for the ability to be able to love a man that loved you harder. Because there was no one else he would spend hours into the night talking to, there was no one else he’d surrender his body too, no one else that he would put aside his own opinions for and buy whatever material thing you wanted, no one else he’d turn his casual acts of service into romantic gestures for, and no one else he whispered ‘i love you’ to while drifting off to sleep.
And yet knowing this you always feared he’d leave you, not for another woman, but for the dark reality that existed outside of your relationship. The thoughts that plagued his mind if you let him sink that far deep into his own head. But you swore exactly one year ago, when he had for the first time in his life spilled his heart out to someone, to you, when you both had wandered away from the party, that you wouldn’t ever let him drown. You wouldn’t let him be lonely, and so that’s why you try so hard to include him, to fit him in.
You placed the gifts you had gotten your boyfriend next to the cake on the table. A wrapped vinyl he had been eyeing every time you wandered past the record shop, a bag of books you knew had been on his reading list for ages that he himself probably forgot about, and a pendant you had carefully chosen out for him, the main reason being the stone matched his eyes almost perfectly.
Just as you stepped back you heard the front door of your apartment open, signalling your boyfriend’s arrival. After choosing to celebrate your anniversary earlier in the day, you planned him to come over at the end to celebrate his birthday. Making whatever excuse to have a buffer of time between to be able to pick up his cake, and bring out his gifts.
Megumi was surprised at the sight of the set up, his heart skipping a beat at just the idea of you taking a moment to appreciate him. He was almost startled when you moved next to him and held onto his arm.
“happy birthday ‘gumi….”
Megumi looked at you, his eyes meeting yours and his lips twitching into the small smile you had grown to recognize.
“…thank you.”
You smiled back at him, tugging his arm and pulling him over to the table, sitting him down in the chair in front of the cake. Megumi letting out a short amused huff watched as you picked the lighter off the table, and quickly lit the ‘22’ candles placed on top of it.
“…make a wish!”
The smile was still spread across his lips, before he blew gently, mainly to amuse you. You ruffled his hair in response, before wrapping your arms around his shoulders and placing your chin on the top of his head.
“what’d you wish for?”
“can’t say.”
You huffed playfully, placing a small kiss on the top of his head, “Why?”
Megumi wasn’t superstitious, in fact he didn’t really have any sort of beliefs like that at all, but even then he would admit that he wouldn’t risk anything to have his wish not come true. Because he couldn’t handle if you loving him forever didn’t become a reality.
“‘cause then it won’t come true…”
You laughed, before reaching out to the cake and scooping frosting on your finger only to smudge it on his face. He huffed and pouted, only to immediately return the favor, turning around and smudging frosting acrossing you cheek.
Both letting out a quiet laugh as you pulled out the chair next to him and sat down, scooping up frosting on your finger again, but this time smudging it on his lips, only to lean in and clean them through a kiss.
The taste of Megumi and the slight sweetness of the frosting was intoxicating, and when he pulled back first, gently cupping your face, the glint in his eyes made you understand he was more than happy.
“happy birthday angel,” you whispered, wiping the leftover frosting off the tip of his nose.

Playing It Safe
Tumblr media
Amelia Shepherd x fem!reader Warnings: 18+ Minors DNI, NSFW, sex, fingering, oral, masturbation, toy usage, sex shop, squirting, language around genitalia, some explicit language, previous Amelia trauma, pregnancy times, established relationship (let me know if I've missed anything!) Word Count: 2.1k
Summary: You're needier than ever during your second trimester, but Amelia has some pregnancy trauma that's getting in the way. Thankfully, you've got people who are willing to help you get what you need.
“Amy,” you prompted as she circled your clit with her tongue. You gently pulled her head up, and she looked up at you expectantly with those beautiful, blue eyes. “I love your mouth, but I need you inside me.”
She furrowed her eyebrows. “I don’t know, babe.” She crossed her arms and rested her chin on your protruding stomach. “It doesn’t feel safe.”
You rolled your eyes. “Amelia, come on. We’ve been over this. Pregnancy sex is perfectly safe. If straight people do it, we can do it.”
“It just…” she stuttered, flopping onto the bed next to you. You sighed, your body drifting down, down from where it had tensed up. You weren’t going to get what you needed. Not today. “It makes me nervous.” She shrugged, and you cupped her face as she lay next to you. How could someone so smart be so stupid.
“You’re a doctor. You should know this. I know this.” Amelia never treated you differently because you were a nurse. You had a different skill set, that was all. But at a time like this, you didn’t mind emphasizing that, of the two of you, Amelia should absolutely be the more educated about pregnancy and safe sex.
Amelia was quiet for a while, looking down and avoiding your eyes. “I keep thinking about Christopher.”
Shit, you thought. It’s not that you’d forgotten about Amelia’s first child, the one who’d died in her arms mere minutes after he was born. Christopher was a part of her. But you sometimes forgot that the hopes and fears that surrounded your pregnancy were different for Amelia than they were for you. Amelia had experience. Not only that, she had trauma. Heart-wrenching, horrible trauma that she’d carry with her the rest of her life, even as she also got to carry and treasure this new child. It wasn’t fair to expect Amelia to be completely rational when it came to pregnancy safety.
You ran your thumb along her cheekbone, your voice soft. “Hey. That’s not gonna happen again. Our baby is perfectly healthy.”
“I just don’t want to take any risks,” Amelia whispered.
“Okay,” you sighed. “Okay. Whatever you need.”
Amelia started moving her hand down your body. “I mean, I can still…”
“It’s fine, Amy,” you said, hoisting yourself out of bed and kissing her on the forehead. “I gotta go to work anyway.”
You felt bad for your patients that night at Grey-Sloan. It wasn’t their fault you were sexually frustrated. You slumped into a rolling chair at the nurse’s station, groaning, and laid your head on the desk.
“Wow.”
You looked up and smiled wryly. It was Arizona–Dr. Robbins, as her patients would call her. For a little while, you and her had been the only out lesbians on the peds floor, so you’d become fast friends. Never dated–you weren’t each other’s type–but you were excellent wingwomen for one another. In fact, it was Arizona who had set you up with Amelia.
She leaned over conspiratorially, so that the people around you wouldn’t overhear your conversation. “That’s a sad lesbian sigh if I’ve ever heard one.”
You shrugged.
“What’s going on?” she prompted. “Trouble in paradise?”
You leaned closer, trying to keep your voice low. “She won’t sleep with me.”
Arizona looked genuinely shocked. “Like, at all!?”
“I mean, she won’t go inside me.”
You had never seen Arizona look more confused. “...Why?”
“She’s afraid it’ll hurt the baby.”
Arizona sat down next to you, rolling close to continue the conversation. “There’s no fucking way she really believes that. She’s a surgeon.”
“I don’t think she really does. She’s just…” You sighed and groaned. “She’s got some trauma.”
Arizona shrugged and mumbled. “I mean, if you really need to, you could just use the strap on yourself.”
You blushed. “We don’t use a strap.”
“Ever?!”
“I don’t know… it just hasn’t come up, I guess.”
She seemed to think deeply about this. “Well, do you have a vibrator or a dildo or anything?”
“No,” you answered quietly, your face getting redder by the minute.
Arizona looked at you like you were an infant, smiling, like you were something cute and tiny. “Aw, you’re just a baby.”
“Shut up. Just because I’m younger than you doesn’t make me a baby.”
“No, you’re right,” she nodded, smirking. “Not owning any sex toys makes you a baby.”
You rolled your eyes.
“What time are you off today?” she said, glancing at her watch.
“7:00,” you answered.
“Me too! It’s a date then.”
“Wait, what?” She’d lost you somewhere along the way.
Arizona squeezed your shoulder. “We’re gonna find you something to put inside yourself.”
You’d never felt more out of your element in your life than you did standing in front of a wall of fake penises with Arizona.
She smiled at your horrified face.
“Little much?” she asked.
You nodded. “I don’t know, Arizona. These all seem way too… real.” You eyed a particularly girthy, veiny dildo and grimaced.
Arizona leaned on your shoulder. “They’re better when they’re attached to boobs,” she admitted. “Here, come here.”
She led you to another aisle where the toys were similar in shape, but much less realistic looking. They were almost futuristic. Sleeker, smaller, more your speed. But there were so many of them.
“I’m feeling overwhelmed,” you told her, staring at all the options.
“You want my advice?” she asked.
You shrugged and nodded.
She pulled a toy down and handed it to you. It was blue and small and bent and there were buttons. You felt like you were in Star Trek. “I’d start with this*,” she explained. “It’s relatively small. It bends, so it can mimic the feeling of fingers.” She looked pointedly at you. “Since that’s what you’re used to.”
You nodded, looking at it. “Yeah, okay. I’ll try it anyway. I just…” You sighed. “It’s not as good, is it?”
“As a partner?!” Arizona shook her head. “But it’ll do the job.”
An hour later, you were sitting in bed, the package opened in front of you, reading the little instruction manual. Sixteen settings. An app!? You just weren’t sure about it. And you felt a little bad for even wanting to use it. You knew you weren’t cheating on Amelia by masturbating. You both did it, you both knew you both did it. You worked long hours, sometimes things just didn’t line up. But this felt different somehow. Illicit.
But, god, you needed it. You’d needed it since last night. Since last week, even, when you’d started to show and Amelia had started treating you like you were made of glass.
You took a deep breath and leaned back against the pillows you’d stacked against the headboard, trying to think sexy thoughts. Amelia thoughts. You thought of her body against yours, the taste of her, her curves you loved to trace.
Your breath started to grow rhythmic, ragged, and you circled your fingers gently over your clit. After a few minutes, your arousal started to pool, and you spread it around, taking a deep breath and grabbing the toy. You looked at it suspiciously, as if it was an alien. It wasn’t Amelia. It didn’t look like Amelia. But, then maybe, like Arizona had said, it would get the job done.
You pressed one of the buttons, choosing a vibration pattern at random, and slowly slid the toy inside of you. You moaned at how good it felt to have something inside you, to once again feel something pressed against your fluttering walls. And while, no, it didn’t feel as good as Amelia’s fingers would, it was new and exciting to be able to control everything, all of it, the whole experience. The speed, the depth, the direction, to cater to your every want and move because it was you on both sides.
You continued stroking your clit as you thrust the toy in and out of you, shaking around it. God, you’d needed this.
When Amelia burst into the bedroom, still in her scrubs, you froze, face beet red, hands between your legs. She wasn't supposed to be home. Not this early.
She stared at you in shock, and neither of you spoke for a moment.
“What are you doing!?” she said, sounding somewhere between sad and angry. It was pretty clear exactly what you were doing.
“Amy, I–”
She shook her head in frustration, sitting on the edge of the bed. You tossed the toy aside and covered yourself with the sheets, feeling more self-conscious than you ever had around her.
You felt like crying. All you’d been trying to do was meet your own needs, so that Amelia wouldn’t have to. You didn’t want to make her any more anxious than she already was, but it seemed like you’d done just that.
She looked in your direction, but not in your eyes, and you saw that hers were full of tears.
“Amy…” you breathed, moving toward her.
“I’m sorry,” she said, wiping tears from underneath her eyelids. “I know it’s safe. In my head, I know it, but I’m just–” She sucked in a shuddering breath. “I’m so scared, all the time. And I know you need me, and I’m just–I’m sorry.”
“Hey,” you said, drawing close and wiping a tear from her cheek. “It’s okay. I’m sorry. I should have been better about telling you what I needed and, well, what I was doing to get it.”
She breathed deeply, seeming to calm down a bit, as she looked you over.
“Did you finish?” she asked, smiling slightly.
“What?”
“Just now. Did you finish?”
“Uh… no. No, but that’s oka–”
Amelia’s lips crashed into yours, hot and salty from her tears, and you pulled away a bit, surprised.
“Amy, it’s okay,” you assured her, holding her face in your hands. “You don’t have to.”
“I want to,” she said, her voice rough with lust and emotion. “I’m so tired of being scared.”
You looked into her eyes as she pushed you down on your back. They were lustful, determined, and just a little bit sorry. You brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, running a thumb along her brow bone.
“Everything’s gonna be okay, honey,” you told her, quietly. “The baby’s safe and healthy.”
“I know,” she said, pressing her lips to yours and slipping her tongue into your mouth, her hands squeezing your hips.
And she didn’t look away. She kept her eyes–so beautiful, so brave–on yours as she pressed her fingers inside of you. You gasped, arching your back into her, so happy, so relieved to have her inside you again. The toy was just that–a toy, a tool. Amelia was a goddess.
Amelia whined, too, planting sloppy kisses all over your neck, your collarbone, your chest. “I missed this,” Amelia huffed, high on the way your body pulsed around her, tight and desperate and already so close to the edge. “I missed you.” Her breath was hot on your skin, her lips red and puffy from colliding with yours so furiously.
You felt yourself barrelling toward the cliff of an orgasm and grabbed her arms for dear life. “Amy,” you moaned. “Amy, I’m gonna–”
She grinned as you fell apart, quaking and throbbing around her, your hips thrusting, back arching. But, then–something neither of you had expected or experienced before–a tiny stream of fluid, flooding out of your body. You cried out, coming harder than you’d ever come in your life, way too far gone, too lost in your orgasm, to think about what the hell was going on down there.
When you finally came down, Amelia stared at you, gaping–her face a mixture of shock, self-satisfaction, and pure, dumb happiness.
“Holy shit,” she said, biting her lip and bouncing a little.
You propped yourself up, alarmed at how wet the bed was. “Did I–”
“Yeah,” Amelia laughed, running her hands through her hair. “You sure did, baby. Holy shit.”
You stared at the wet spot. That had never happened before. You weren’t sure you liked it.
“Jesus,” you said, your eyebrows furrowed. “I–”
Amelia crashed her mouth into yours, wrapping her arms around your neck.
“Never,” she said, pulling away breathlessly, “let me say I’m too afraid to fuck you again. Never.”
“It’s okay if you are,” you assured her, running your hands up and down her back.
“Nope,” she argued, shaking her head. “If that’s on the table, trauma can suck it.”
You laughed and kissed her again, happy to have her body close to yours–with no inhibitions–once more.
*This is the toy, in case you’re wondering. 😉

Chapter Ten: Yes
Tumblr media
Toji watches in the corner as you talk to your brother the whole evening. You try to beckon him over, calling him to sit next to you but he told you that he’s fine where he’s at. Your eyes would dim, just for a second, but your brother and Megumi would pull you back into the conversation so you wouldn’t stay sad for long. The ring box felt like a brick in his pocket. He has no idea when would be the proper time to give it to you, and it didn’t help that his son glares at him whenever you aren’t looking.
You are just so beautiful. He didn’t want to interrupt anything that you were doing, no matter how insignificant the task may seem… but that means he has been sitting on this ring for weeks now.
Toji first tried to subtly bring up the idea of marrying you to Sukuna first. First mistake was talking about it to Sukuna. The other man bore a shit eating grin that made Toji want to shove his face into the window while he was driving them back home from a mission.
“I knew it. I fucking knew it! This is good, man. You’re finally ready to settle down and be the perfect househusband I always knew you could be. Did you already get a ring? If so, Gojo owes me $200.”
“Why the fuck would Gojo owe you $200?”
“I said that you would buy a ring and propose by Christmas. Gojo said that you’re slow as hell and it would happen next year,” Sukuna boasted.
“So y’all bet on me instead of doing your work?” Toji shot a glance at the other man but Sukuna just waved him off.
“Oh come on. Your eyes grow huge around her and you follow her around like a goddamn puppy. Not that it’s a bad thing, but any idiot could tell that you were gonna marry her.”
Toji shook his head. “It hasn’t happened yet. She hasn’t said yes.”
“There’s no way she wouldn’t say yes. She’s just as in love as you are. And I better be your best man.”
The same sentiments were shared by others in the group. Nanami wanted to be the one to help Toji with his suit and the others, and had a few bridal boutiques in mind for you. Gojo wanted to help choose the venue. Suguru and Choso gladly volunteered to help with any and all other wedding details. Nobody seemed surprised when Toji said that he had plans on making you his wife. In fact, in most cases, they were telling him to hurry up. They have already accepted you and the kids love you just as much. You are family in their eyes.
So why couldn’t Toji just pop the question? Well he thought that maybe it was because he didn’t have any of your folks to ask. Toji figures that it was customary, even though he usually doesn’t give a shit about tradition. Even then, it was like the universe gave him a big flashing sign to get on with it because the third time he visited Ezra on his own he woke up and gave his blessing. It couldn’t have been more obvious.
So Toji sits and waits. And waits, and waits, and waits as you reunite with your brother and play with Megumi until he falls asleep in a heap on the couch. He gathers Megumi up, the little kid flailing around like noodles in his arms while he takes him to bed. You try to take Megumi yourself but Toji tells you not to worry about it, instead telling you to get your shoes and jacket ready when he comes back. You give him a surprised look but agree, and on your behind you Ezra gives Toji an enthusiastic thumbs up.
When Toji places Megumi in bed he feels an arm tugging him back before he leaves.
“Have you asked her yet?” The boy is hardly awake. His eyes aren’t open yet his eyebrows are scrunched together. Toji sighs and rubs his face down.
“I’m working on it.”
“Stop being a scaredy-cat.“
“That’s real easy for you to say, kid,” Toji chuckles.
“She likes you. A lot. And I like her too.”
“I know.”
“…I accidentally called her mom and she smiled,” Megumi confesses. “A few days ago. I think she liked it.”
“You want her to be your mom?” Of course Megumi sees you like his mom. You’ve been there for him since you came into their lives, and you fret over Megumi even when he’s not around. Caring for Megumi came to you easily, from helping him with homework to packing his lunch, or taking him with you when you had errands to do. That tender love also extends to Yuji and Nobara, who flourish under your care. Everyone did.
“Yeah. I think she'd be a pretty cool mom to have.”
Toji ruffles Megumi's hair. His son gave him the confidence boost that he needs. “Tonight. I’m doing it tonight. Wish me luck?”
“She’s gonna say yes either way. Good luck,” he mumbles, the sleep pulling him back under. Toji leans down to kiss the top of his head and walks back to the living room where you were waiting for him.
“Ezra, do you think you can watch Megumi for a little while? I still have a present to give her,” Toji asks Ezra and he nods vigorously.
“Go ahead. I’ll be fine here.”
“Really? Are you sure?” You ask. You are all bundled up with the same scarf and gloves Toji gifted you on your birthday all those months ago and fixing the laces on your boots.
“I’ll be fine. I’m sure you’ll be back soon,” Ezra grins.
“Okay. Thanks,” you say, grabbing Toji's outstretched hand and walking back outside. You had no idea what your gift could be, or why it had to be outside. You hadn’t even noticed that you technically weren’t given a gift by him yet merely for the fact that you felt like you have been given so many by everyone else. Spending this holiday with so many people is a million times better than last year. Ezra wasn’t in a coma yet, but he wasn’t around either. He had his own busy life on the other side of the world and coming back home after your parents’ untimely death was too much to bear. You didn’t blame him, but you couldn’t deny the fact that it was very lonely. Now you had a belly filled with a loving meal, belting out to Christmas carols with the radio while Toji drove you to wherever he was driving, even getting him to sing along with you.
You notice that the road he took is the same road that your bakery stays. You haven’t been there the whole week, one part because it’s Christmas, other parts because Toji asked you to take the entire week off. Usually you only did three, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the day right after, but he wanted more time with you and you couldn’t say no. Not when he was looking up at you from laying on your chest and his eyebrows tilted up like he was pouting. You were sure that your customers would understand.
“Watch your step,” Toji says, holding open your door and taking your hand again. He did take you to the bakery, and it only added to your confusion. He ushers you inside to get out of the freezing cold before you could say anything and you stand in the dark of one of your favorite places in the world, second to only wherever Toji was.
When Toji turns on the light it becomes apparent why he brought you to your store. The place was completely renovated to the layout of your dreams. You always complained how tight the space felt despite having the space to be better, it’s just that you didn’t have the money to fix it. You look back at Toji who nods at you to keep exploring.
It wasn’t the type of modernization that sucks the life out of the space it’s in with a grey and white color palette. Your store still has character, accents of red and black dancing on the walls and tiles on the floor, now wavy counters, a deep walnut with their rough edges smoothed out but still bumpy to the touch, giving it a unique texture. The two tables you had in the front near the windows were the same. You didn’t notice when you first walked in but even the wording on the windows had changed. It matched the curled logo you have printed out on your boxes finally on the windows.
You turn to Toji with tears in your eyes and your hands over your mouth. Emotions swirl in your chest. You didn’t know if you wanted to jump into his arms or break down crying.
“Wh-when did you… how did you—“
“You’ve talked about all the changes you wanted to make since I met you. All I had to do was listen,” he says, gently holding your shoulder to pull you closer.
“This is insane, Toji. I mean it was only a week.”
“We’re lucky that Christmas lands on a Saturday this year,” he shrugs. You look up at him in awe and let out a breathy laugh.
“I still can’t believe it.”
“You wanted this, right? There’s still some things they said need to be cleaned up but it’s safe for you to be here. Do you want to change anything?”
“No! No, this is perfect. I mean, I can’t believe that you did all this for me. I was fully expecting to hold out for a couple more years to save up or try to find a new store. This is… Thank you, Toji.”
You stand on your tiptoes to place a soft kiss on his lips. His eyes flutter close and his arm tightens around your body. You pull away and his eyes are still closed, his lashes fan over his cheeks and you hold his face in your hands. “I love you. This is the best Christmas I have ever had. Not just because of the bakery but because I have you and Megumi and everybody else to share it with.” Tears prick your eyes again and Toji finally opens his eyes again.
“Can I make it better?” He asks in a low voice, cautiously. A bewildered expression sweeps over your face. How could he possibly top a renovated shop? You give a slow nod since he looks nervous and he kisses the round of your nose, laces his fingers in your hand, then kisses the pads of your fingertips. You giggle in response, still unsure on what “better” could be until he puts his other hand in his pocket and slips out a golden ring. Your eyes bounce back and forth from the ring to Toji’s face, blood rushing in your ears and your heart pounding.
“I would do anything for you,” he starts, holding the ring up between the both of you. “I’ll spend the rest of my life proving that.”
You begin to cry. It was long overdue. You’ve  been holding your tears back since you walked in but they could no longer be kept at bay. Toji gathers a heavy drop on your lash line and cups your face. “You don’t have to prove anything,” you choke out. “I want you with me. Forever.”
“Forever?” He smiles. You nod vigorously, whispering yes a thousand times over, and he slips the ring on your finger. The blood red jewel glistens in the new bright lights and more sobs escape your mouth. You smash your lips on his again, throwing yourself on his body and he welcomed it. He grins into your kiss and returns your enthusiasm, lifting you off of the floor as you get lost in each other’s affection.
“I’ve been wanting to marry you for a while now,” Toji says when he finally puts you back on the ground. Your head spins with giddiness. He kisses you again, and again, and one more time for good luck only for you to drag him back down to deepen it.
“I would’ve said yes,” you laugh. “Definitely would’ve said yes.”
“Megumi was right,” Toji shakes his head.
“I can’t believe we’re going to get married. I’m going to be your wife !” You squeal and shake your hand in the air.
Toji couldn’t believe there was ever a doubt in his mind that you would say no. You have always been open and honest with him, and accepted him and everything that he was. It was hard to believe that you came to love him and Megumi as easily as you did. There were only a few vibrant moments before he met you, and there is a clear difference in his time line where you existed versus when you didn’t. He wanted to hold onto that vibrance, that warmth that you brought with you everywhere you went and never let go. He kissed you again, slowly and deep, relishing the feeling of your lips, your body touching his and then rested his forehead on yours.
“I love you.”
“I’m going to cry again.”
“My little crybaby.”
“Is my husband making fun of me?” You gasp dramatically, but your arms wrap around the back of his neck and you giggle into his neck.
“Your husband still has to finish the tour. The kitchen is updated too. No more dented ovens.”
You grasp Toji’s hand with your newly decorated hand into the back of the bakery laughing.

One day I watched a bit of Forrest Gump and noticed Forrest had a similar personality to a gainer I dated many years ago, so I decided to write a little vore story reminiscent about that kind of connection.
Life is Like a Box of Donuts (Tom and Hank’s story)
Tom had always been more of a passive personality, or perhaps simply agreeable. Folks would offer to buy him dinner and he wouldn’t refuse, especially to those friendly feeders who admired his big belly. A stranger might ask to be his best friend and the next day they’d be playing catch together in the park. Just the other day, someone rudely called out “Why don’t you go eat another donut, pal!” to Tom. Always one to take things literally, Tom welcomed the idea, and went down to his favorite bakery and purchased a dozen donuts to bring home.
On the day our story began, Tom was visited by his close friend, Hank. Tom always considered Hank a very special friend, and always tried to bring a smile to his face. They made lunch together, as they often did, and Hank noticed the logo on the closed donut box and remarked “Ooh did you visit that bakery down the street from the park? They have the best coconut donuts I’ve ever had the privilege to taste!,”
“I got some for you, Hank,” Tom remarked, motioning to the box. Hank smiled, whispered a little note of gratitude and looked inside. There were six coconut donuts, and five sour cream donuts, which happened to be Tom’s favorite. “I wanted to wait till you visited, but I was too tempted, so I already ate one,” Tom explained.
“This is incredibly sweet, Tom, I don’t understand why anyone would be so nice to me like you are,” Hank replied.
“I want you to be happy, Hank,” Tom continued.
“I am happy! I’m happy I’m with my best friend,” Hank leaned over and gently patted Tom’s rather large belly, “And he got me some donuts!”
“I know you sometimes like to feed me donuts, Hank, so I got lots of extra in case you did. I like when you rub my belly,” Tom replied, as they ate their lunch, glancing over at the donuts to be had soon.
Hank got up and folded a sour cream donut in a napkin and brought it over to Tom, then got a coconut one for himself.
“Sometimes I get jealous when I eat food as good as this. Jealous of how tasty food can be. Jealous, knowing how passionately someone can hunger for something this tasty, and wishing someone desired me even as much,” he said.
They sat in silence for a bit. They did this often. Tom always said he liked just sitting with someone he cared about, not needing to say anything, just simply caring. But he did have one thought he wanted to share.
“Hank, I like you more than this donut,” Tom acknowledged, “wish I could eat you up and keep you safe from all your sad thoughts, but I wouldn’t want you to miss out on finishing the coconut ones.”
Hank smiled and laughed a little bit, and replied “Maybe if I were in your belly, you could swallow coconut donuts whole for me to have in there.” He got up to get Tom another sour cream donut. Instead of taking the donut directly out of Hank’s hand, Tom took Hank’s arm and guided it to drop the donut into his mouth. Tom held Hank’s arm there, finishing the donut and sucking the crumbs off of Hank’s hand, and holding it there for a moment. He motioned for Hank to get another one, releasing his hand and repeating the process a few more times.
By the final sour cream donut, Tom had Hank’s entire hand engulfed in his mouth, and tried to mumble something. Hank laughed and pulled his hand out for Tom to say, “Looks like no more of my favorite donuts, but I still have my favorite person right here looking tasty.”
“You wanna eat me?” Hank smiled at Tom. Tom pulled Hank forward, having him straddle his lap, or as much as he could, since Tom’s rather large belly didn’t leave much room for a lap to straddle. Hank was looking down at Tom’s belly, pressing against his. Tom put his finger under Hank’s chin and guided their gazes to meet each other. Tom gave a slow nod, and raised his eyebrows slightly.
“I want you to feel as happy as all that food you’ve been jealous of.” Tom took both of Hank’s hands in his own and guided them into his mouth. Tom gave a first swallow and felt Hank’s wrists relax and slide into his esophagus. Hank gave a little smile of surprise and contentment, as his arms began to clasp tightly together, steadily sliding deeper inside of Tom. Tom slowed down to look at Hank’s face again, questioning whether to continue.
“If you don’t like what you taste I won’t be offended, but if I taste better than a sour cream donut, don’t hesitate, bud!” Hank smiled and took a breath. Tom put his hands on Hank’s hips and lifted him off of the ground, pulling his head into his maw and tasting the coconut crumbs in Hank’s beard. Tom leaned his head back a bit, to help gravity pull Hank’s broad shoulders into his mouth. Hank felt his fingers poke into Tom’s stomach, and he could feel the mixture of donuts and lunch about to break his landing. As Tom’s tongue glided across Hank’s nipples, Hank felt a surge of tingling and arousal, relaxing his back and stomach enough to easily slide into Tom’s hungry mouth. Tom relaxed his own abdomen, as his belly ballooned out with impressive volume as Hank’s entire head and torso became encased inside. Tom pushed Hank’s legs up into the air, and as Hank reflexively held them up high, Tom’s hands were free to touch and rub his belly, feeling Hank’s hands push against the other side. Tom wanted to take it slow to let Hank really enjoy and fully experience the feeling of becoming a donut, but Tom was running out of oxygen and needed his throat open soon. So with a large swallow, the help of gravity, and peristalsis of course, he pulled Hank’s legs in all the way to his feet. Hank swayed and curled around his body to better fit inside. Tom took his fingers and tickled the bottom of Hank’s feet, causing him to reflexively pull his feet away, swiftly finishing off the massive swallow as Hank’s entire body, head to toe, was curled up like a ring, or perhaps a donut, inside Tom’s now gargantuan belly.
Tom drew a massive breath, and exhaled “You sure are a big donut, Hank.”
“A big, and very happy, donut,” Hank replied, wiggling around inside Tom to make him giggle. “Hey now you can swallow those coconut donuts for me to eat!”
Tom, rubbing his incredibly distended belly, and groaning in mild discomfort replied “I don’t know if I should eat much more, I reckon my belly is the fullest it has ever been.”
“You got to eat a donut, now I want a donut! Doesn’t the human donut get a donut?” Hank replied, poking Tom’s belly.
“Oh, alright, just ‘cause I like you,” Tom replied, trying to stand up to grab the box of donuts, and immediately plummeting right back down into his chair, pulled down by his doubled weight, jostling Hank all around inside his belly.
“On the count of three I want you to lean hard to my left,” Tom began, knowing that if he could only just extend his reach a couple feet he might be able to grab the box before being pulled back down onto his chair by his big belly, “One, two…”
On the third count Hank tried to push sideways, and by some miracle it worked, Tom grasped the box by the corner before being pulled back down. He plopped the box onto the top of his belly, and slowly swallowed each of the remaining donuts, smiling as he did, knowing his best friend was happily enjoying the donuts as well, and enjoying feeling so wanted like all the food he loved.
“I should have eaten you way back when, when you mentioned liking this kinda thing,” Tom spoke, his eyes drooping in contentment.
Hank, finishing off his last donut and getting comfortable as Tom's stomach walls kneaded his body, replied “We don’t need to live in the past. I am happy right here, in this moment, and nothing but this joy and contentment matters more than right here, right now, as a donut.”
“Life is like a box of donuts; it may not last too long, but it sure can be incredibly tasty if you savor the good stuff that’s inside.”

Isekai Yandere Strawhats X Black Fem reader Chapter 19

It felt like the entirety of the last few months was a dream. Not being able to tell anyone about what you had experienced made you feel as if you were on the brink of insanity. You were back to the old life, not that you were angry, or sad for that matter. Your surroundings were just blurry and so was your mind.
You didn’t pay attention to most things that were in front of you, that’s why it took you so long to realize that next week was thanksgiving. A part of you, the part that suffered and laughed with these people was still somehow stuck in that universe. You had read online a few years ago that prolonged time in another reality would make you feel every symptom you were feeling now, you ignored it.
This wave of repressed emotions trampled you, it kept you stuck to the ground drowning in an abyss of confusion. “ Y/n I need you to go to the market adn buy the perishables for thursday and– are you listening to me?” knocking you back into your world you seen your mother looking at you in concern. Poor woman had absolutely no idea what was happening to you.
Everyone around you noticed the change, they simply thought you were going through teenage angst or something else. You would laugh to yourself at times, imagine if they really knew of the turmoil you were dealing with. You would be dropped off at the hospital with quickness.
At night you didn’t sleep the same, although you were almost always fighting for your life you were also accustomed to the sounds of the waves and the subtle rocking of the ship which helped you fall asleep. The night before thanksgiving you were forced to relive the events of what happened, as your cousin talked your ear off you slowly tuned out the noise when remembering the bone chilling statements of the strawhats.
“ Y/n… if you leave you will regret this.”
Law was injured, he had been fighting both Luffy and Zoro to give you more time, the rest of the two crews were fighting amongst themselves while you were below deck of the polar tang trying to drown out the noise. The screams of your name were angry, betrayed, and vicious. Luffy shoved his way through Law stretching his arm to grab onto the ship, Law was quick though and used his ability before Zoro could strike him. You were hiding in his room with the door locked and his desk shoved in front of it, the two of you knew how much of a gamble you were taking.
After agreeing that he would come with you and finally going through your plan you both silently agreed that maybe, in the future after Wano he would come. You knew that although it was unspoken that would probably never happen, you completely altered this timeline. This version of the one piece world was tainted by you in some of the worst ways, turning the heroes into villains that you seen them go up against and the villains that they’ve never even come face to face with.
You wish you could have law by your side at this moment, and just as you were about the break down the door began to rattle on it’s hinges.
“ Y/n! I know you’re in there, just come out. We can fix this, we can be as we used to. Don’t leave us.” Luffy sobbed.
You quickly rushed under the bed. What a cliche you thought. You had to get serious now, it was time to go home and you weren’t going to let anyone or anything stop you. You were in over your head when you got here but you weren’t to blame. Who would’ve know that the people you admire the most would turn out to be monsters.
When the door unlocked you were almost a memory, fading from this world and from the strawhast grap. Luffy quickly rushed under the bed trying to grasp at the strans off you, the anger in his body welling up. Law had slowly stalked in behind him with his infamous smirk, and Zoro was not too far behind. Angrily he dragged your feather of a body from beneath the bed, “ Y/n… if you leave you will regret this.”
Ashiver ran down your spine but you wouldn’t give himthe satisfaction of seeng you terrified for the last time. When your eyes fluttered yuou realizied you were back in your room, everything as it was and you decided to do the last thing in order to severe the link between that world nd yours. Without another thought you rushed around your room like a mad woman, scrambling for the bits and pieces you needed and when all was said and done you collapsed.
When you came to it your mother was calling you and your cousin to run a few errands for her. The chill of the fall weather helped keep you grounded and you finally felt like you could fully enjoy their company without being lost in what should be forgotten memories.
The next few months were a breath of fresh air. You were becoming whole again and life had more meaning than just escaping. You began speaking to people online about your experience, you put into a story. To others your story was fiction, a thought borne from the imagination plastered into the net for an online audience to enjoy. But to you, this was your life story, and you knew it would be far from over.
The End… of chapter 1

Authors Note: I would just like to say how grateful I am. When I started this series and this account I was at the lowest point of my life, I thought I would live in a never-ending nightmare forever until I started writing. I am so happy that so many people enjoyed this series and I apologize for stringing you along after maybe like the tenth chapter, I want you to know that although at one point I didn't really know what to do with this story anymore I fully put my all into every chapter. I am not a perfect writer but the comments of you all saying how much you like my story and you want more chapters gave me a breath of life that I desperately needed in order to continue. Thank you all and I hope you continue to watch me grow as a writer. - Symphony
