I really appriciate how often Machete is depicted struggling and feeling like a burden, while still being loved and supported by Vasco. It gives the top tier angst of "i'm not good enough, I'm not worth it" but you frame it in such a way where it's clear that's just how he *feels* and is not how things really are, but also it's so nice to see someone who struggles quite often in a loving and unique relationship that suits them. The narrative of not being able to love or be loved unless you're consistently healthy is really tiring lol.

with how little relevance characters often have outside their introduction arc, its genuinely WEIRD how relevant tree constantly is. which is an odd criticism because characters should remain relevant after being established but in warriors it feels like blatant favoritism. i dont even dislike treee and i liked him a lot in tbc but its ODD
Mr. Gas Leak has a very distinct feeling (an odor, if you will) to me. It feels like he became so relevant because people were frustrated that he wasn't doing the Very Special Job they'd invented just for him back in AVoS, so the writing team tried to "respond to criticism" by making him show up all the time.
But like... that wasn't really the heart of the criticism. It wasn't a clamor to bring back Tree specifically. It was frustration that they would set up worldbuilding elements and then forget about them when they became inconvenient.
SkyClan's return, negotiator role, the border guard between the DF and StarClan, voting to oust a leader. We've gotten at least one (sometimes multiple) additions that threaten to shake up the status quo in every modern arc-- and then they're forgotten about or not used to their full potential.
In honesty though, the more he appears, the more I actively dislike him. I thought he was cool at first, I enjoyed the idea that SkyClan was going to bring some new dynamics to the politics at the lake. But every role he's had since his introduction has been insufferable.
I HATED how he absolutely refused to do his job in Squilf's Hope because of personal bias
I can't stand how the Sisters have been willing to help the Clans after their treatment in that book, and the constant narrative derision they get in spite of that
The fact everyone just forgot Tree existed in ASC until Nightheart said something was astonishingly bad writing. If I forgot about a major worldbuilding element like that I would be genuinely embarassed, not cutely lampshading it
Even the way he ended up "helping" when the narrative remembered him was annoying. Like, "Oh right! Having this role just grinds the action to a screeching halt! Instead of the Battle Cats doing Battles, they argue offscreen about things! Wow, this was a terrible idea to begin with!"
There are waaaay worse characters in WC, and I can't bring myself to hate him the same way I hate some others like Gray Wing. But boy, he has found his way down my list of "least liked WC characters."

this is too stupid to edit the post about but I realized I used the wrong term for using bones for divination. Oracle bones are a very specific kind of ancient relic from China and thereabouts, where diviners would carve questions about the future into livestock scapulae or turtle plastrons, burn the bones until they cracked, and then interpret the question's answer from the pattern of the cracks. The thing where you throw a bunch of bones on the ground and interpret the pattern they make when they come to rest is called, appropriately, "bone throwing" or osteomancy (from the Greek osteon, bone, and manteia, divination), and is an ancient form of divination still practiced in different forms by various communities worldwide.
You can even buy throwing bones on Etsy, if you're so inclined:

Ways Elain and Azriel are similar:
-both are the unassuming members of the IC
-both enjoy peace and quiet
-both are mostly silent but when they speak people listen
-both have protective sides that come out in a feral way (Elain stabbing Hybern, Azriel attacking Eris)
-both understand to have loved and been rejected
-both have trauma pertaining to their body, Elain by being turned fae and Azriel with his hands
-same sense of humor (Elains gag gifts making Azriel actually full on LAUGH)
-both “see” each other (Azriel knowing Elain is a Seer, Elain knowing enough about Azriel to get him headache powder)
-follows into both being observant
-it has been repeatedly hinted that Elain has the makings of a spy—-has Azriel beat for secret keeping? So soft on her feet she can sneak up on people? Has a way of getting people to do what she wants? Speculated to be taking lessons from the twins?
And these are things I just came up with quickly while waiting for a doctors appt. You can find many, many beautiful posts that are more succinct and beautifully stated than this but at least I could list somethings.
I would say that Elain and Azriel fall into each other’s lifestyles easily since that’s what they’ve been doing.
Azriel willingly spends downtime in the garden with Elain, reading his reports, sunning his wings, he offers to take her there himself and even when he’s not there, he’s observing the garden with Elain in it.
They spent all Solstice night with each other staying up talking.
So yes. They are similar in manner and in lifestyle I would say and have no problems quietly inserting themselves into each other’s life.

Pet peeve; that one Tumblr post that's "I am not a fan, I am not a casual enjoyer" - fan is short for fanatic. It is not a casual word it's a fanatical word. Your abnormal interest, reverence and obsession is implied by the word 'fanatic', you are fanatical. Saying like "oh fan means casual enjoyer" does not make sense

and like yeah it’s worth mentioning that the ds9 showrunners felt comfortable with depicting lesbians but not gay men, despite cast members and writers wanting to do so. that was homophobia! but it doesn’t mean that the gay and bi women on ds9 just like, didn’t count, or were only there for male viewers to jack off to.

Let's see for a character with a small amount of screen time:
Kairi's the first to bring up Riku's condition at the Secret Waterway, reaches out to him as the world is attacked by heartless (weaponless and only left at his urging), reaches out to stop him from running away (though some of yall just want to attribute that to ~being for Sora~), stays even though he now looks like the guy who started all of this (to her knowledge), encourages him to be himself and no one else including Sora, is excited to see him when she wakes up after a long sleep (Sora's location was mentioned afterward), and trusts his judgement when he greatly implies she's not ready
not in this silly meme: still feels comfortable joking with him, did invite him to talk at the paopu tree (he refused bc he had to talk it out with his clone brother), still wants to go on that damn raft with him, AND MORE
AND YET
"~But she said she wanted to leave him behind tho~ she doesn't care about him~"
I suppose I just want people to try to give her the benefit of doubt sometimes. Why expect the worst/most selfish from her? Is it some weird way to give her a """flaw"""? uh one of her flaws is that she makes jokes at the worse timing tbh but seriously i and a lot of Kairi fans wouldn't get as frustrated if yall gave her the same leniency as yall do for some characters who've done so much worse, arguably less, or have even less screen time

does machete shed white fur all over his own black clothes
A little bit, but probably not as badly as you'd think. He brushes himself regularly and bathes very often, and that reduces the amount of loose hair that has a chance to stick to his clothes. I don't think he's double coated, he doesn't have the downy uncerfur that heavy shedding dogs have. In modern au he's a lint roller enthusiast.

I love looking over someone's blog and trying to figure out if they're an earnest person who can be talked to and is actually curious or someone who is like, 19 and right about everything. (i also was never incorrect at 19, it's just the time)
Anyway, if you want to read a very very good book about the actual history of the hamburger, I really recommend Josh Ozersky's Hamburger: A History. He does have his little annoying tics, but his history is good--the man was a history doctorate and a food writer--and I think it would provide some clarity on the question.
In short, Germany invented the hamburger in the way India invented tikka masala.

This post goes out to all the plural users on the platform who only feel attraction twoards one (or possibly more) member[s] of your shared headspace who also Identify as being somewhere on the Ace/Aro spectrum because of it.
You're valid, and everyone who claims in-sys dating isn't a thing or that you're not on the A/A spectrum because of that can suck a lemon.
[[Like yeah, this doesn't apply to all systems, but outright saying that a system can't have relationships or a full life innerworld is just weird as hell. Especially considering how prevalent things like Maladaptive Daydreaming are as a co-morbidity to being plural -Kat]]

Gale's storyline isn't "escaping from an abusive partner," it's "hey, maybe try communicating instead of assuming you know what's best," and also "having good intentions doesn't mean you can't fuck up and hurt other people in the process" with a dash of "hubris is a powerful drug" in there for good measure.
There's a reason why Gale getting the Crown of Karsus is the Bad End for him, after all.
