RQG Characthers and If They Comit Tax Evasion
*PCs*
Hamid -> he thinks he doesn't but he actually does (he trusts his family to do his taxes for him and they just don't cause they are Al Tahains and don't need to)
Sasha -> does not know what taxes are/ still doesn't pay them after learning
Zolf -> people that are part of the cults don't need to pay taxes, that being said after he lefts the Poseidon lot he still does not pay his taxes
Bertie -> hajahahahahahahahaha wait are you serius? Yes! He totally comits tax evasion, he also thinks poor people should pay HIM taxes actually, if pressed will defend feudalism
Grizzop -> No. He doesn't pay taxes but is because the sweet paladin fiscal benefits and still pays a fee to the Artemis lot.
Azu -> No. She doesn't need to pay taxes as a paladin but she comits tax fraud so she can keep paying them.
Cel -> No. They did it for a long time but they don't feel the need to in Japan.
*Some NPCs*
Harlequinns -> Since the taxes are for the Meritocracy no Harlequinn pays them. The Prague ones are in a more complicated spot where they do pay some taxes to keep their position and mostly just commit tax fraud. Einstein likes finding fun ways to do it.
Wilde -> No. He really can't when working that close to the Meritocracy. He also does his coworkers taxes part of it is his workaholic will accept any work tendendices but mostly is so he can spy on people's financial information and collect favors. He did more than once used his position to make someone comitt tax fraud and than gets them in trouble for it (an ex, an enemy, someone he wanted out of the office).
Carter -> Absolutly. 100%
Barnes -> No. He is a good boi.
The Al Tahans -> yup, they also have a lot of financial benefits both because they are bank owners and just for Apophis nepotism style of things.
Kiko -> Yes but not always she sees not getting caught by "dragon IDF" a challenge and Earhart fully incentivizes it.
The Kobolds -> They are all together here because I don't think Kobold society belives in money at all. When they stabelish a goverment they share a part of their inventions and all their resources but it's not really taxes.
Barret -> Yes. Not only that but is very likely that Barret was in fact being paid with people's tax money because of Meritocratic corruption.
Eddie -> also doesn't know what taxes are but for a very different reason, would pay them if he learned. Is tecnically not a crime cause he has paladin imunity and his parents pay his Apollo's fee.
Tjelvar -> No. He is always in his best behavior so he can gather the most financial support for his research and most of meritocratic programs say you have to have a clean criminal record.

What your favourite RQG pairing says about you
Zolf/Wilde: You're either relatively new to the fandom, or you've been here for at least 4 years and have basically committed to these guys for life.
Wilde/Grizzop: you like Zoscar but wish there was more biting involved.
Zolf/Hamid: You like ships where the dynamic isn't so much "enemies to lovers" as it is "difficult and messy friendship to difficult and messy romance".
Wilde/Hamid: You just really like charming men in pretty clothes and I can't blame you for that.
Grizzop/Hamid: You just want to see that halfling get absolutely destroyed, and I can't blame you for that either
Zolf/Hamid/Wilde: You actually really liked the epilogues, thank you very much.
Zolf/Wilde/Grizzop: Your favourite rqg fanfic is Miri's Four Seasons Total Landscaping Au.
Bertie/Wilde: You're still on season 1.
Bertie/Zolf: You're still on the prologue.
Grizzop/Veseek: You have at least one @areyouokaypanda drawing saved on your phone.
Carter/Wilde: You are Tumblr user @crayonturtle or Tumblr user @knifemartin
Barnes/Carter: You're *still* waiting for that 18 Month Timeskip Oneshot.
Cel/Barnes: You want to kiss that sailor sooo bad... You want to live on a houseboat with him soooooo bad......
Cel/Sasha: You either really like Lydia Nicholas, or you just like characters bonding over a shared love of violence.
Grizzop/Sasha: You want to live in the woods and consensually hunt your friends for sport sososososo bad. You're also probably some flavour of aromantic but who knows.
Skraak/Hamid: You are clapping and cheering any time Hamid develops a new draconic trait. You have relistened to the second airship arc more than once.
Azu/Hamid: You just want Azu to be happy.
Azu/Kiko: You just want Azu to be happy, and you're sapphic.
Azu/Sasha: You want Azu to be happy, you're sapphic, and you can't listen to episode 125 without crying
Ed/Tjelvar: I have nothing to say for this one but you're cool as fuck and this is a peak ship. We should be friends.

I was tagged by @mightymightygnomepriest, thank you lovely
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
204 posted works under 2 pseuds
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
484,365 as of 2/6/24.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly DC and Marvel now, but I'll dip into others from time to time
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Kiss and Tell (DC, M, wc 1,845) Paradise At My Fingertips (DC, T, wc 1,559) a bird on the edge of a blade (DC, T, wc 1,261) The Unbearable Lightness of Bedding (DC, T, wc 2,045) raps at my window, waits at the gate (DC, E, wc 2,865)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I want to, and I try to, but it's difficult when I fall behind. I cherish every comment like the treasures they are, but it's sometimes very difficult to respond.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do angst, and at least not angsty endings. The closest I get is Once More Into the Fray or The Road to Tartarus, both RQG fics and both ending with MCD. Somehow they're still not angsty.
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my endings are happy, or at least funny. I think maybe What Spring Does With the Cherry Trees?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Very rarely
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
So much. Mostly M/M, but I occasionally do femslash, and sometimes omegaverse. I am far too willing to answer any challenge (or percieved challenge) that comes my way, so I have written a lot of different kinks, some of which were a struggle.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
Yes! I love crossovers and write a lot of DC/Marvel, which is not crazy at all. I'm quite happy with the DC/Discworld fic I wrote, though.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, but there are some fics similar enough to mine that I have gotten anon messages about it.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! Baguettes At Dawn with @mightymightygnomepriest, and The Care And Feeding Of Tjelvar Stornsnasson, Or, What I Did Last Summer, by Edward Keystone, aged 27 with @ex-libris-craux a couple of years ago
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
So many. So, so many. Like many others, I shipped Gigolas before I knew what shipping was, and I don't think I'll ever stop shipping 00Q and Arthur/Eames. Current favourite is Jason/Slade, but I'm willing to ship Jason with almos anyone. Sailing up as a new fave is Jason/Frank Castle. And of course Winterhawk, which truly has some of the best writers out there.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Avignon, which I struggle with because of JKR. It's been ten years, so if I don't manage to pick it up this year, it's probably officially abandoned.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told I'm good at beginnings, and I like to set the scene with a bang -- which is a necessity when mainly writing shorter fics like I do. I've also been told my dialogue is good.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I like writing long paragraphs, which is not universally appreciated. I'm trying to find a balance. I struggle a lot with writing longer fics, and I think it's unlikely I'll aim for anything longer than 20k again, at least when I'm writing on my own.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've done it a couple of times, mostly single sentences in Russian for Nat or Bucky. As a reader, I enjoy it a lot.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
What Spring Does With the Cherry Trees is probably the one where I made the most effort and I think it shows. How To Get Ahead In Gotham was probably one of the most fun to write. But I think my actual favourite is Seven Days in June, which is a tiny little found documents-style thing and possibly the most me thing I've ever written.

Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason.
First fic published on Ao3: House of Red Dreaming, a post-S4 Whitechapel fic following the detectives as they attend a remote team-building session which was definitely haunted. Intended to be the first in a series which would resolve the Louise Iver arc. Baby Duck was ambitious.
Last fic published: A Village Built on Bones, a Midsomer fic in which Barnaby & Winter investigate the murder of a gothic horror author. Not entirely sure when I'll be able to update it, what with Whumptober and NaNo coming up, so it's languishing a bit on the to-do list. Adult Duck is. also ambitious.
Fandom/ship I only wrote once: There are a few of these, but I'm going with Pyre (in which Owen has fire trauma) because frankly only having written once for Parkdale Haunt is an error I'm hoping to correct.
Favorite fic in most popular fandom/ship: Assuming the most popular ship I've written for is TMA's Jon/Martin (which I've not checked, but. it's Jon/Martin), Autumn, in which Martin is Missing Presumed Gone and Jon has feelings about it. It was the first Jon/Martin fic I wrote and a friend told me it made them cry at their workplace, which is the kind of review I'm proud of.
Fic I wish more people read: Going to go with Firelight's Edge/Paper Boats, in which a traumatised Nelson returns to Midsomer but can't quite make it home, and Winter tries to help while ignoring his rapidly-developing crush. Because it's my most Winter/Nelson fic so far and presumably if more people read it, that would mean that there were more people thinking about my pool noodle ship, and the more people think about the ship, the higher the odds of someone else also writing for it? This is how maths works, right? Also I think the fic's pretty good.
Fic I agonized over: I have 107 fics posted and I don't think there's a single one I didn't agonise over. So. All of them. Especially the ones I didn't post. For the purposes of this, though, between the dark and firelight, a RQG fic following Tjelvar, Edward and Carter as they're hired to seek an artefact that could bring magic back to the world. Big Bang fics are always agonising, trying to strike the balance between The Vision (TM) and what you have the time and ability to write, and this one had the additional difficulty of dealing with characters who were deeply traumatised in ways that made them behave badly towards others (and trying to treat that sensitively), while also trying to contain an adequate quest and romance arc. Might just be a case of "most recently quite agonising", though.
Fic that popped out fully-formed: prooobably blood on the beach and a wreck in the water, currently my only fic for The Secret of St Kilda, feat. Lockie hiding an injured Matthias post-S1, because if I don't see the body there's no MCD, and good luck with that in an audio medium, okay? I'd been struggling with writing and then I was poking bits of this out on my phone and the words came easily and felt good as I was writing them which. never happens. I'm scared to look at it again in case it isn't as good as I remember thinking it was.
Fic I'm proud of: uhhhhhh proud of things I've written isn't really a state that comes to me naturally but I guess I'll take In Sunlight, in which Edward searches for Tjelvar after escaping Rome. Ed/Tjelvar is a very special ship to me, as it started off as just me and two people who are now some of my fondest friends, one of whom worked with me on this fic as my Big Bang artist. It was one of two RQBB fics I wrote that year (we've since changed the rules not to let people do this because it turns out it's a fast-train to burnout, who would have thought?), so I'm kind of baffled that I finished it, and it had a great response for what will always in my head be a rarepair (though apparently has 88 works now? wild). The (69) comments assure me the fic is good which is very nice of them.
No-pressure tags for @an-anonymous-friend, @badgerhuan, @icescrabblerjerky, @kd-heart, @pjmarvell <3 also anyone else who sees this and would like to do it pls take this as a tag for you

[ID: a digital drawing of two characters from the AP Podcast Rusty Quill Gaming. they’re fully coloured and set against a stockphoto of snowy mountains. Depicted are Edward Keystone, a white, blond human wearing golden armour with Apollo’s sigil and a fur-lined orange cloak and Tjelvar Stornsnasson, a grey orc with black hair, wearing a brown winter jacket, hat, and backpack. Ed and Tjelvar are positioned like Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara from the viral “Buzzfeed Unsolved” meme. Ed, eyes closed and with full confidence, says “I’ve connected the dots”, Tjelvar replies “You didn’t connect shit”, “I’ve connected them,” Ed insists. The artist’s signature, reading “Ängry Duck Time Machine” is visible as a feint watermark in the background. /end ID]

SO HOW ABOUT THAT BENQUEST HUH.
‘TIS MY TIME TO SHINE.
[Image description: Digital fanart of characters from the Root Special, aka BenQuest, from the Rusty Quill Gaming podcast. It depicts Tjelvar, Grizzop, Zoya, and Zolf in anthropomorphized animal forms. The fanart has watercolor and pencil textures.
Tjelvar is a raccoon with a small white scar on his muzzle. He is wearing a white shirt, a blue cape with a gold clasp, and a black waistband. He has one hand held to his chest and a slightly devious expression.
Grizzop is a short brown-and-white weasel. His is wearing a silver breastplate with straps on it, which hold his bow and quiver. He has both hands on his hips and is grinning widely.
Zoya is an extremely tall wolf with unnaturally read fur. She is wearing a white-and-grey fur cloak and a brown vest. She has her eyes half-lowered in a calm, slightly smug expression. She is standing behind the others.
Zolf is a badger with a small braid hanging off the end of his chin. He is wearing a large brown leather coat and a yellow shirt. He is standing with his arms crossed and has an grumpy expression on his face.
