#i mean#technically 2 i guess#but it's. like. backpacking#I haven't gone car camping in years. I'm a Pack It In Pack It Out type of guy#so yeah I bring a tent and a thermarest and a sleeping bag but it's because I don't want to get rained on and have to hike 20k in wet socks#and I am carrying that tent and thermarest and sleeping bag out there with me so help me god#“outdoor + sleeping bag” sound like a wonderful experience if you live in. like nevada#but even in summer I would not risk that in the rockies#i did a trip with some friends last week and we were trying to set up a tent with a broken pole in the pouring rain and.#i cannot lie to you it sucked ass and was a real test for me#i cannot begrudge anyone who doesn't like the idea of backpacking because many parts of it suck at many points#and I genuinely think that anyone who wants to spend a few nights in the woods should be able to do so#without having to spend hundreds on gear and do extensive planning and be capable of carrying heavy loads on foot for long distances#but personally it is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling things I've ever done
