Bath Routine ๐ซง๐โจ
1. I dim the lights, light candles & play classical music. If candles arenโt available, I use an oil diffuser with lavender or eucalyptus scents.
2. I add Epsom salts, milk powder, a few drops of nourishing oils like rosehip, argan, or jojoba. I also like to add dried rose petals for a soothing touch. If I want to detox, I add charcoal and bentonite clay.
3. I shower before my bath to cleanse my body of dirt, oils, sweat. I will use a shower oil during this step to hydrate, cleanse and exfoliate (will do separate post for everything shower).
Pre bath routine:
4. I dry brush to stimulate circulation.
5. I wash my face and remove makeup if applicable. I then use a face steamer for about 5 minutes to open my pores.
6. I apply my favorite face mask (either DIY or store bought) before stepping into the bath (will do a separate post on this).
In the bath:
7. While in the bath, I lightly use exfoliating gloves or a scrub to exfoliate my body.
8. I massage my face with ice globes to reduce puffiness and stimulate circulation.
9. I sip on tea, a magnesium cocktail, or infused water.
Post bath routine:
10. After my bath, I wash off my face mask and apply toner to close my pores.
11. I apply my favorite serums to hydrate and nourish my skin. After applying serums, I use a jade or rose quartz facial roller to help the products absorb better and promote lymphatic drainage.
12. I apply body oil or lotion all over my body to lock in moisture & keep my skin soft.
13. I apply a nourishing hand and nail treatment to hydrate my hands, cuticles and nails.
14. I brush my hair if I didnโt wash it (separate post on this coming soon).
15. I apply my favorite perfume to feel extra luxurious.
16. I put on a silk robe to complete my relaxing routine.
17. After my skincare routine, I use my LED mask. Your skin is more receptive to hydration after cleansing & applying serums & the mask enhances absorption of active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, or Vitamin C. It also stimulates collagen production & skin repair.
18. After using the LED mask, I apply a moisturizer to lock in hydration.
Then continue on with my night time routine.

Body Butter Recipe
This is the base for a basic body butter recipe, which is fairly quick, easy and cheap and good for those in the broom closet or (like me) are bouncing pay check to paycheck with low energy and money.
I love using recipe such as this one and my salt scrub recipe in self love rituals. Nothing screams decadence to me like spending extra time focusing on myself and my body. These types of spells are also great for glamours.
Basic Recipe:
3 cups shea butter of cocoa butter
1 cup carrier oil
a few drops of essential oil until desired scent is achieved
(optional) 1-2 tea spoons Vitamin E oil
(optional) 2 tablespoons cornstarch to thicken
Mix together the butter and oil, slowly ading your essential oils (or infused oils) until well mixed and you've achieved the desired scent - if your need to, you can heat up this mixture on a low heat to aid in mixing
If you desire a thick consistency, sift in your tablespoons of cornstarch into your cooled oil and butter mixture
Whip the mixture using an electric or hand whisk until desired consistency is reached and store in an airtight, wide rimmed container.
Self Seduction
3 cups shea butter
1 cup coconut butter
1 cup rosehip oil
a few drops of rose, lavender, ylang-ylang and sandalwood (or any other aphrodisiac oil or attraction/lust oils)
2 teaspoons vitamin E oil
1 teaspoon pink or red mica powder or food coloring (add more if needed, test on skin to ensure the colour doesn't transfer - optional)
Self Confidence Lotion
3 cups shea butter
1 cup carrier oil
1/4 cup aloe vera
2 teaspoons vitamin E oil (optional)
1-2 teaspoons water
a few drops of lemon balm, mint, jasmine, orange blossom (or other oils for confidence and prosperity)
As always, remember to adapt and change these recipe to fit your own practice and what you have on hand. Never feel like you have to follow exact recipes, diy your own spells and oils to what works best for you <3

OH DANG itโs food time again! Hereโs my go-to jelly recipe for using rose hips. Apples lend natural pectin so you donโt have to add any powders, plus they bulk up the recipe without taking away from the taste of the rose hips. Hereโs how we do:
Ingredients:
โข 500 g (about 1 lb) apples*
โข 220 g (about 1/2 lb) rose hips
โข 250 g (about 9 oz) cane sugar
โข Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Instructions:
1. Clean your rose hips, making sure to get rid of as many of the seeds and hairs as possible. You do NOT want a mouthful of those dadblamed hairs. Pulse them in a blender or food processor until slightly mushy.
2. Clean and cut your apples into quarters. No worries about the skin and core โ that adds the natural pectin we need in this recipe and weโre straining them out, anyway!
3. Toss the apples into a large saucepan and cover with water, until itโs about an inch over the apples. Bring to a boil, and cook until nice and tender.
4. Add the rosehips. Reduce heat and simmer for ten minutes. Turn off the heat and let cool for a bit.
5. Strain the mix using a cheesecloth or jelly bag. Donโt use a sieve, itโs not fine enough to catch all the bits. Leave the mix to strain a few hours or overnight.
6. Add your strained liquid to a clean saucepan with the sugar** and lemon juice. Dissolve the sugar slowly over medium heat.
7. Once the sugar is dissolved, bring your mixture to a boil until it reaches the set point (220ยฐF / 105ยฐC). (If you donโt have a candy thermometer, use the saucer test or spoon test methods to check for doneness.)
8. Let your jelly cool before pouring it into sterilized jars.*** Process in a water bath if canning, or store in the fridge for up to 6 months.
*Any variety of apple with a nice combo of sweet and tart will work.
**You may need more or less sugar depending on how much liquid you end up with. You want at least an equal ratio!
***Makes about two 8 oz jelly jars.
#rose hips#apples#recipes#wild food#foraging#jelly#this jelly tastes awesome on biscuits and scones of course#but it tastes AMAZING with cheese on a sharkcoochie board#or as a base in a marinade/glaze for meats

Create your own vitamin c serum at home
Vitamin C serum provides antioxidant protection, stimulates collagen production, brightens the skin, defends against sun damage, promotes hydration, reduces inflammation, supports wound healing, has anti-aging effects, protects against environmental damage, and improves overall skin texture.
Ingredients:
Orange peel powder - 1 tablespoon
Vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid) - 1 to 1.5 teaspoons
Rose water - 2 tablespoon
Glycerin - 1 tablespoon
aloe vera gel - 1 tablespoon
Vitamin E oil - a few drops (optional but adds antioxidant benefits)
Rosehip oil - 1 teaspoon (optional but beneficial for skin)
Dark glass dropper bottle
Instructions:
Prepare Orange Peel Powder:Dry orange peels and grind them into a fine powder using a blender or grinder.
Mix Dry Ingredients:In a clean bowl, combine the orange peel powder and vitamin C powder.
Add Wet Ingredients:Add the rose water, glycerine, aloe vera gel, vitamin E capsule and optional rosehip oil to the dry ingredient mixture.
Stir Well:Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to ensure an even distribution.
Transfer to Dropper Bottle:Use a funnel to transfer the serum into a dark glass dropper bottle. Dark glass helps protect the serum from light, maintaining its potency.
Storage:Store the serum in the refrigerator to slow down oxidation and preserve its effectiveness. Vitamin C serums can degrade over time, so making smaller batches is advisable.
Application:Apply a few drops of the vitamin C serum to your face and neck after cleansing. Use it in your morning skincare routine, followed by sunscreen.

For the ask game thingy this asshole called my friend a slur so i made rosehips itching powder and put it in his hair after giving him a hug then when it started to work everyone bullied him for like 3 months until he left the school... nobody knows it was me
Regulus Black
He may seem uncaring, but if you fuck with his friends he will make you regret it. And you won't be able to prove it was him. He'll get off completely innocent. But he'll know.

Rosehip & Almond Torte
This is the cake I make every year for Christmas Eve. It is a ridiculous beast that is frankly, absurdly expensive to make due to the ingredients but it is so, so worth it, and it's the perfect light, not-too-sweet finale for the monument to excess that is the traditional Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner as made by my family.
The base of the sponge recipe is from Savella Stechishin's Traditional Ukrainian Cookery, but I've made so many changes over the years that it is no longer recognizable as such. A Torte of Theseus, if you will. The frosting is completely my own invention, with thanks to Deb Perelman of Smitten Kitchen for the idea to stabilize the whipped cream with sour cream.
Sponge
16 eggs, separated 2 cups powdered sugar 3 cups almond flour 1/2 cup all purpose or gluten-free 1-for-1 flour (whichever you like, does not affect texture or taste at all) 2tsp grated lemon rind 2tsp grated lemon rind 2tbsp lemon juice Pinch salt
Line 3 8-9" circular cake pans with parchment paper (one circle on bottom, and then a strip around the sides, leaving enough to overlap. Use a plain metal paperclip to hold the ends together if necessary). Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
With a stand- or hand-mixer, beat egg yolks until very light. Add sugar gradually and beat constantly until light and fluffy. Stir in the nuts, flour, lemon rind, lemon juice, and salt. Set aside.
With a meticulously clean and dry bowl and whisk attachments, beat egg whites into stiff peaks.ย
Transfer nut mixture to a large bowl. With a rubber spatula, gently fold in egg whites one large dollop at a time, being careful not to knock the air out. It will take a while as the nut and egg yolk mixture has the texture of wet concrete. Good arm work out!
Once all egg white is incorporated, evenly divide batter between the three pans. They will be quite thin layers. Bake for approximately 30 min or until golden on top and springy to the touch. They will be domed on the top when they are baked. The sponges will shrink back to flat once removed from the oven. This is normal and will not affect the texture of the sponge. Let stand a few minutes in the cake pans before removing to cool on a cake rack. Let cool completely before assembling.
Frosting
16oz heavy cream 1/8 cup sour cream 1/2 cup powdered sugar 2tsps rosewater 1/4c rosehip fruit spread (D'arbo brand)ย
NB: you could probably do this with any flavor profile and sub out the rosewater and the preserves but keep the measurements the same; just use seedless jam or fruit spread
Make whipped cream with the heavy cream and the powdered sugar. I use my stand-mixer for this but you could do it by hand. When it is fluffy, add the sour cream, the rosewater, and the rosehip spread. Do not overbeat or you will have very delicious butter.
When assembling the torte I usually add a layer of the rosehip spread to each layer of the torte before adding the frosting, just for some extra zing and moisture.
Ideally you'd refrigerate the cake if you have leftovers and then let come back up to room temp when you serve it, but to be perfectly honest I've left this cake covered in a cool room for a few days and neither I nor the cake suffered for it.

So like what's your characters favorite summer dishes to partake in?
I know in my heart Ruhka would devour italian lemon ice like it's his job in the summer, but well... Italy is apparently the void so, I'm not sure what it'd be called in Eorzea? Troian Ice? hmm. Anyways, lemon ice, 100%, the only sweets he ever really favors are either lemon, ginger, or thavnairian spice flavored.
Nemo drinks sweet tea, actually, not usually black tea, but rolanberry and rosehip sweet tea, it's one of the few things he still tries to import from the shroud.
Yvet favors rolanberries too actually, though just fresh ones. He hasn't expanded his palate much yet, he could easily find new favorites.
Tristan would never admit he lives for those ridiculous deep fried funnel cake concoctions covered in toppings, powdered sugar, chocolate syrup, whipcream, sprinkles, ect. He'd probably love deep fried oreos honestly.
Canum is not a big fan of summer, honestly, and he really isn't terribly picky about food, you'd think he'd like something like coffee icecream, but... There's actually a specific sort of fair food he's really taken to, actual kettle made kettle corn, the sort with half caramelized sugar and salt on globe kernels made fresh. He counts it as a summer food since he's only ever found it in the summer festivals around Gridania.

Busting Common Skincare Myths: What Truly Works and What Doesn't
In the pursuit of radiant and flawless skin, it's easy to get lost in a maze of skincare myths and misconceptions. From homemade remedies to supposed miracle products, the beauty industry can sometimes leave us bewildered. Let's dive into some prevalent skincare myths, setting the record straight on what's effective and what's not.
Myth: The More, the Merrier
Reality: Layering multiple products may seem enticing, but quality trumps quantity. Overloading your skin can lead to irritation and clogged pores. A personalized routine catering to your skin type - including a cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and targeted treatment if necessary - is the way to go.
Myth: Natural Means Safe
Reality: Just because something is labeled "natural" doesn't guarantee it's safe for all skin types. Allergies and reactions can still occur. It's crucial to read labels, patch-test, and consult a dermatologist before incorporating new products.
Myth: Pores Open and Close
Reality: You might have heard that steam opens pores while cold water closes them. In truth, pores lack muscles, so they can't change shape. Steam can temporarily soften debris, but a solid cleansing routine and exfoliation work better for maintaining clear pores.
Myth: Oily Skin Rejects Moisturizers
Reality: Hydration benefits all skin types, including oily ones. Skipping moisturizer can lead to increased oil production. Opt for a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to maintain balance without causing breakouts.
Myth: Sunscreen Is for Sunny Days Only
Reality: Sunscreen is a must, no matter the weather. Harmful UV rays are present even on cloudy days and can penetrate windows. Consistent broad-spectrum sunscreen application safeguards your skin from premature aging and damage.
Best sunscreens EVER:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Body & Face Sunscreen
LIVE TINTED Hueguard Invisible Sunscreen Stick SPF 50
Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense Face Sunscreen + Hydrating Serum with Broad Spectrum SPF 60+
Myth: Exfoliating Daily for Perfection
Reality: Exfoliation aids in cell turnover, but excess can cause irritation. 2-3 times a week with a gentle exfoliant is sufficient for a smoother complexion without harming your skin's barrier.
Amazing Facial Exfoliants:
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant - Exfoliator Facial Scrub Powder
TULA Skin Care So Poreless Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub
M-61 PowerGlowยฎ Peel- 30 Treatments
Myth: Moisturizers and Oils Aggravate Acne
Reality: Acne-prone skin thrives with hydration. Seek non-comedogenic, oil-free options. Some oils, like jojoba or rosehip, can even regulate sebum and enhance skin appearance.
Moisturizers I personally love:
Paulaโs Choice C5 Super Boost Moisturizer with 5% Vitamin C
e.l.f. SKIN Holy Hydration!
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream | Body and Face
TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream
In conclusion, navigating through the world of skincare requires discerning fact from fiction. An informed approach, coupled with a streamlined routine, is the key to glowing skin. When in doubt, a dermatologist's guidance can be invaluable on your skincare journey. Remember, debunking skincare myths is an essential stride towards achieving your skin's best version.
